Matthew 7:1 (NIV). ''Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.''...... Thoughts on This Verse... Are you judgmental? Do you assume you can judge the intent of another person's heart? Are you critical and negative about the actions of others? Jesus wants us all to realize that we cannot know the motivations of someone's heart. When we are unfairly harsh or bitingly critical in our judgment of others, we are setting the standard by which God will judge us. I don't know about you, but I'm not willing to exchange God's grace for my unreasonable harshness. I'm going to work harder at viewing others with mercy and grace.

Help When I Am Slipping

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "I cried out, 'I am slipping!' but your unfailing love, O LORD, supported me. When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer." Psalms 94:18-19 (NLT)
TODAY'S THOUGHT Have you ever slipped? I have. It is a helpless feeling. Your legs fly up and your body comes down without warning. Once I slipped off a tree limb and landed many feet below on the ground. There were scratches down the side of my body from the many branches that I hit on my descent. Slipping out of control can be a terrifying experience. But there can be more fearful slips. Ever have the fear of abandonment or rejection or that leads to an anxiety so bad that you felt your heart would beat out of your chest? You feel like you're going down a long winding chute picking up speed leading directly to annihilation. It is a fear of non-being, leaving you in terror, trying anything to bring relief. The Psalmist knew what it felt like. He cried, "I am slipping!" The good news is God can help you down from those mental and emotional cliffs that you are hanging on to by a thread. As difficult as it may seem, as terrifying you may think the outcome
could be, God is with you to help and comfort. He will help you find a way. The Psalmist was in a dilemma. It was sheer horror that made him cry out to God, "My foot is slipping!" But when he did, God's unfailing, better said, His never failing love, supported him. When his anxiety was so high, when doubts filled his mind so much that he could not stand it, God consoled him, bringing real joy deep to his soul. God will do the same for you. Bring him your fear, your anxiety, your terror. Bring Him to the spot where you are slipping. Reach up your hand and He will grab you. He will hold you with His strong arm. He will put your feet in a safe place.
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, I am slipping. Please come to my aid. Catch me, hold me, help me find better footing. I need Your consolation. I need Your never failing love. I need Your help. Guide me, comfort me, rescue me, in the name of Jesus I pray. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -When I fear, God is there to comfort It's not hard to imagine fear. Let yourself go there for a moment. Feel yourself falling. Sense your heart beating faster, your chest tighten, you start to get light headed and breathing gets shallow. But then there is hope. Take a deep breath and see God coming near. He is there, His love leading Him directly to your pain. He reaches and touches your heart. You feel comfort begin to flow to your extremities. Your breathing returns to normal, your head clears and you sense a deep, deep peace. God's unfailing love has caught you and lifted you to safe ground. Praise God and affirm, when I fear, God is there to comfort.

Galatians 6:2 (NIV). Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ...... . Thoughts on This Verse... This is just another way of saying,''Love your neighbor as yourself!'' Jesus came to bear our burdens and carry away the stain and pain of our sin. (Read Isaiah 53 for a powerful description of God's Suffering Servant, a passage quoted in the New Testament in reference to Jesus.) He now asks us to live redemptively, in practical ways, toward those around us. More than just praying, or asking what we can do to help, we are called to serve, minister, and assist others who are burdened.

Moment In The Word

Live What You Know

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves." James 1:22 (NLT)
TODAY'S THOUGHT Have you ever tried to lose weight? There is no fast way to lose the pounds that you acquired over a long time. Now certainly, some ways are faster than others, but there is no way you will lose twenty pounds overnight. Knowing "how" to lose weight isn't enough. Instead you have to apply what you know, one day at a time, each and everyday. Knowledge of the weight loss principles combined with the discipline needed to support your knowledge equals weight loss. James felt the same way with spirituality. There were all kinds of "spiritual" people in Jerusalem where James was head of the church. There were plenty of people learning about Christianity. But James wrote that you need to do more than just listen to the word of God. If learning doesn't effect the way we live, then what good is it? It is like a weight loss program that you won't follow. So what was James' advise? It was simple, "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive
yourselves. Do what it says." So today let's take the word of God, that we already know in our heart, and apply it to everything we do.
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, my mind is full of "knowledge" about Your word. Today, help me apply all that knowledge to everything I do. In Jesus name. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -I will do more than "listen" to God's word, I will "do" it Meditate on what it would feel like to be completely "sold out" to Jesus. See yourself reading God's word and when it says to behave in a certain way, you say, "Yes Lord!" Sense the calling on your life to be a "doer" of God's word, not merely a "listener." Feel yourself in complete agreement with surrendering to the will of God. Affirm with confidence, "I will do more than 'listen' to God's word, I will 'do' it!"

Proverbs 31:8 (NIV). Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute... .... Thoughts on This Verse... God's people in every era are called to defend the rights of the weak, speak up for the disenfranchised, and protect the lives of those who are vulnerable. This comprehensive call is the great reminder that the blessings, rights, wealth, and power we may have is not ours alone; it is a gift from God to be used to bless those who have no power to speak, to defend, or to protect themselves.

Power For your Weakness

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "Each time he said, 'My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.' So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me." II Corinthians 12:8-10 (NLT)
TODAY'S THOUGHT We all have different skills and abilities. Some are natural, some are learned but most are honed through experiences. Good experiences and bad help us mature and add to our personal development. From our experiences we can reach out and help others. Paul was going through a bad experience and God told him that He would provide all the grace Paul would need. Paul could then testify to others how God's grace was all he needed. Thornton Wilder, in "The Angel That Troubled the Waters" writes about a Physician who wanted to be healed but God did not heal him. Instead an Angel came and said this to the Doctor, "Without your wounds where would your power be? It is your melancholy that makes your low voice tremble into the hearts of men and women. The very angels themselves cannot persuade the wretched and blundering children on earth as can one human being broken on the wheels of living. In Love's service, only wounded soldiers can serve."
Henri Nouwen expanded this concept in his book, "The Wounded Healer". He writes, "For a deep understanding of his own pain makes it possible for him to convert his weakness into strength and to offer his own experience as a source of healing to those who are often lost in the darkness of their own misunderstood sufferings." Christ wants to allow His power to be used through your weakness. Bring your weakness and troubles to Him today and begin helping others in the way Christ helps you.
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, You know my struggles, my weaknesses and my human frailty. I come to You and ask for Your grace to give me all I need to be a wounded healer. Help me relate how Your grace has been sufficient for me. May your power be manifested in my weaknesses today. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -God's grace helps me with my weaknesses In your mind come to Jesus with all your weaknesses. Sense His compassion and understanding. Feel the magnitude of His power as you stand before Him. Feel in your gut the fact that He wants to help, that He can help and that He will help you. His grace and strength will help you with your weaknesses.

Thoughts for today - Set us Free Part 1
Delmar

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 8:28)
THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
There are many ways that we humans sin and fall short”lying, greed, stealing, adultery, taking the Lord's name in vain, and many other selfish acts. All sins are equally serious before our Holy God.
"But, I am saved" - If there is no doubt that you have already committed your life to Jesus Christ and are relying on His sin-covering blood for your salvation, then do not let your sin cause you to doubt your salvation. Instead, deal with your sin. Confess it, and rededicate your life to Christ. Don't hold back any part of your life from Him. Humble yourself totally before God. Surrender it all. Ask Him to help you live a life of purity and true love. Accept your own failure and inadequacy. Admit that you cannot overcome sin on your ownThe apostle Paul understood the frustration and terrible hold that our inherited sin has on all descendants of Adam and Eve "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. …I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For
what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing.

Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?"
--Romans 7:15-24 (NIV)

Admit your weakness, seek God's help

All humans are selfish and sinful; it is our nature. Addiction to pornography and other sexual sins are particularly potent in their effect, similar to a seductive and powerful drug. Once it has a hold on you, it is very difficult to resist. In fact, it is virtually impossible to overcome on your own. You must have God's help.
God cannot work with you if you are still trying to overcome sin on your own; it is a form of pridefulness. You are, in effect, saying to God "I can take care of this myself." Consider these verses:

"The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God¦" (Psalm 10:4). "Pride goes before destruction" (Proverbs 16:18). "When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom" (Proverbs 11:2).
"You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You" (Isa 26:3, NKJV).

MY QUOTE FOR TODAY
What about cravings? The Bible understands them well. It refers to them as temptations. The Bible recognizes that people with years of sobriety often still struggle with huge temptations. Sometimes this is just a normal part of the slow process of change. Sometimes it is simply a consequence of being reminded of something we once loved. But at other times it can be a result of mentally cherishing and nurturing the addiction while physically abstaining from it. Instead of asking God for a desire to hate sin at its roots, some people cling to the pleasant memories associated with their addiction. They remember that they once had a potent escape, whereas now they experience the pain of facing daily problems.

DEAR GOD IN JESUS NAME SET US FREE ..LORD IT IS EASY TO GET OFF TRACK IN THIS LIFE HELP US AND SEEK US WHEN WE GO ASTRAY GIVE UP THE EYES TO SEE WHAT THINGS IN OUR LIFE ISNT PLEASING TO YOU AND BRING US TO THE EVERLASTING WAY OF PEACE IN JESUS NAME AMEN

- Set us Free part 2
Delmar

Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word” (Psalm 119:37).

Thoughts for today

A simple change of habit can do wonders in keeping you from temptation. For example, if you are most tempted when you spend time on the computer after your spouse has gone to bed, then make a commitment to stay off of the computer during that time. If you know that a certain street you drive down causes you to lust due to certain establishments on it, or prostitutes that hang around, or alluring billboards, you would be wise to travel a different route.
Remember that God loves you, no matter what kind of sin and selfishness you have immersed yourself in, no matter what your destruction your sin has produced. Confess your sin, and admit the gravity of it. Understand that it is impossible to overcome sin totally on your own. Depend on God's help, and seek the support of others. Saturate your mind with God's Word. Pray often. Create barriers to reduce your exposure to temptation. Confess your sin to another Christian (preferably of the same sex), and ask them to pray regularly for you and hold you accountable. Continue to read and learn about your addiction. Seek professional help, especially if the problem is severe and your life has been shattered. Get to work on rebuilding your life, now

Stephen Arterburn in his book Every Man's Battle talks about retraining the eyes to “bounce away” from visual things that stimulate lust in you. For men, this might mean you need to look away as soon as you see a scantily dressed female jogger. Don't fuel your lust. Avert your eyes from temptations, and don't look back.
The same applies to visual temptations on magazines at the grocery store checkout line, or billboards, television programming and commercials. A good habit can be formed in around two weeks. Keep bouncing your gaze away, and remarkable improvement can be noticed rather quickly.
Destroy all pornographic materials in your possession—magazines, books, videos, and computer files. Make no provision for your flesh (Romans 13:14). If you can't control yourself, then you must then get rid of every possible access to pornographic material in your life (Internet, cable TV, etc.). Stop feeding the fire.
If some friendships cause too much temptation, severe those relationships.

MY QUOTE FOR TODAY IS
Each of us is accountable to God for our personal holiness. At the same time, God never intended that we should battle sin single-handedly… Is it sometimes hard to confess my need and ask for help? Absolutely! It requires that I humble myself and acknowledge that I don’t have it all together. The very pride that keeps you from taking off your mask and getting real is the same pride that will cause you to fall into sin. Humbling yourself by letting others into your life and allowing them to help you and hold you accountable will release the sanctifying, transforming grace of God in your life.

Proverbs 3:1-2 (NIV). My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.. ..... Thoughts on This Verse... Those who are older are not as respected in Western cultures today as they once were and as they are in other cultures. The Bible repeatedly reminds us of our NEED to honor those who are godly and who have gone before us. Whether the father behind this passage is the physical father of the person receiving instruction or is the teacher of this student seeking wisdom, either way the principle is the same. We have much to learn and much to gain from heeding the voice of those who have served God for many years and have proved themselves wise and faithful.
The Message (MSG)

Psalm 139
A David Psalm 1-6 God, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand.
I'm an open book to you;
even from a distance, you know what I'm thinking.
You know when I leave and when I get back;
I'm never out of your sight.
You know everything I'm going to say
before I start the first sentence.
I look behind me and you're there,
then up ahead and you're there, too—
your reassuring presence, coming and going.
This is too much, too wonderful—
I can't take it all in!

7-12 Is there anyplace I can go to avoid your Spirit?
to be out of your sight?
If I climb to the sky, you're there!
If I go underground, you're there!
If I flew on morning's wings
to the far western horizon,
You'd find me in a minute—
you're already there waiting!
Then I said to myself, "Oh, he even sees me in the dark!
At night I'm immersed in the light!"
It's a fact: darkness isn't dark to you;
night and day, darkness and light, they're all the same to you.

13-16 Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother's womb.
I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I'd even lived one day.

17-22 Your thoughts—how rare, how beautiful!
God, I'll never comprehend them!
I couldn't even begin to count them—
any more than I could count the sand of the sea.
Oh, let me rise in the morning and live always with you!
And please, God, do away with wickedness for good!
And you murderers—out of here!—
all the men and women who belittle you, God,
infatuated with cheap god-imitations.
See how I hate those who hate you, God,
see how I loathe all this godless arrogance;
I hate it with pure, unadulterated hatred.
Your enemies are my enemies!

23-24 Investigate my life, O God,
find out everything about me;
Cross-examine and test me,
get a clear picture of what I'm about;
See for yourself whether I've done anything wrong—
then guide me on the road to eternal life.

MY THOUGHTS

I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS A KID IF I DONE SOMETHING WRONG I WOULD HIDE UNDER THE BED HOPING KNOW ONE WILL FIND ME BUT RATHER IT WAS MY UNCLE OR MY GRANDMOTHER THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO FIND ME UNDER THE BED ....I REMEMBER MANY TIMES I WAS AFRAID AND FEARFUL BECAUSE OF MY GRANDMOTHER FOUND ME SHE HAD A BELT THAT STING AND MY UNCLE WOULD HIT ME KNEES WITH HIS FIST ...BUT IT WAS NOT ABOUT BEING PUNISH IT WAS I THOUGHT I COULD HIDE FROM THEM AT TIMES ..ISN'T THAT IS WITH HOW WE RELATE TO GOD OUR FATHER ..WHEN WE FEEL ASHAMED WE DO NOT CONFESS OUR FALTS TO OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE LORD AND WE HIDE KNOWING IF I DID NOT CONFESS KNOW ONE WILL EVER KNOW BUT GOD KNOWS EVERTHING ABOUT US ....DAVID IN PSALMS 139 KNEW HE COULD NOT HIDE FROM GOD BECAUSE GOD IS EVERYWHERE AND KNOWS EVERTHING WE DO IN SECRET BUT GOD IS ALSO HAS GRACE AND LOVE TO FORGIVE US OUR WRONG DOINGS, SO WHY HIDE?

MY QUOTE FOR TODAY IS

Properly remembering our past sins with shame will deter us from repeating them and help us receive God's saving grace. When we recall our failures through the lens of Christ's mercy, God produces in us ongoing repentance and deepening humility.
BY ROBERT JONES
PRAYER FOR TODAY
GOD SOMETIMES I FEEL SO ASHAMED OF THE THINGS I DO AND WRONG AND I NEED YOUR HELP TO BE HONEST TO YOU TO OTHERS AND MYSELF THAT THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO TO SEPARATE US FROM YOUR LOVE ..GIVE US THE STRENGTH TO GO FOWARD AND BE STRONG AND GIVE US YOUR STRENGTH BECAUSE IT ONLY COMES FROM YOU IN JESUS NAME AMEN

Proverbs 16:3 (NIV). Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed..... .. Thoughts on This Verse... The real question behind this promise is very simple: How do I define success for my plans? The answer is very simple as well: bringing glory to God for his grace (see Eph. 1:6, 12, 14). Committing our works and plans to God means surrendering them to God's will (James 4:13-15), trusting that God will be glorified in them (Col. 3:17), and recognizing that it is not in our power to properly guide our own steps (Prov. 16:9). God longs to bless us and empower us -- not for our own selfish ambition (James 3:16), but for our eternal good (Rom. 8:28) and God's glory. Like Jesus, when we commit our plans and works to the Lord, we are saying,''Not my will, Father, but yours be done!''
Sometimes it is very hard and rough to live in a fallen world of so much troubles and our lives can be so unmanageable Paul in Romans says I do what I do not want to do but i do it anyway .....Oh how true we be so sinful ..I thank God for the cross because with the cross we have hope
Delmar
TWO NATURES

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. - Romans 8:5-6.
Stuart Briscoe tells a story about the cuckoo bird. Now the European cuckoo bird is much larger than the cuckoo birds in the United States. The mother European cuckoo bird has forgotten how to build a nest. It flies around until it sees another nest with eggs in it and no mother bird around. The cuckoo quickly lands, lays an egg there, and flies away.
The mother thrush, whose nest has been invaded, comes back and gets to work hatching the eggs. It apparently does not bother her that there is an extra egg in the nest. What happens? Four little thrushes hatch, but one large cuckoo hatches. The cuckoo is two or three times the size of the thrushes. When Mother Thrush brings to the nest one large, juicy worm, she finds four tiny thrush mouths, and one huge cuckoo mouth.
Guess, which bird, gets the worm? A full-sized thrush ends up feeding a baby cuckoo that is three times as big as it is. Over time, the bigger cuckoo gets bigger and bigger, and the smaller thrushes get smaller and smaller. Stuart says that when he was a kid he could always find a baby cuckoo's nest. You just walked along a hedgerow until you found dead little thrushes, which the cuckoo throws out one at a time.
Spiritually we are similar to the thrushes and the cuckoo. We have two natures in one nest (i.e.: in one body). James says in James 5:19, Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth.... I would submit to you that the primary cause of wanderers from the truth is the feeding of the sinful nature and not the spiritual nature. If we would grow spiritually then the spiritual nature must be fed. At the same time we must stop feeding the sinful nature. The sinful nature is just like the baby cuckoo. If we keep on feeding it the sinful nature will destroy us.
Which nature have you been feeding?

My quote for today is
Sin comes to us, taps us on the shoulder or tugs at our shirttail and whispers in our ear: You deserve better than what God has provided. He's holding out on you. You deserve to feel good about yourself. I'll affirm you in a way no one else can. Why live in misery any longer? Come to me. I'll give you a sense of power you've never known before. I'll expand your influence. I'll fill your heart with a sense of accomplishment. I'll nourish your soul. You've never physical rush like the one I've got in store for you. Obeying God is boring. It's a pain. He's always telling you to do stuff that's difficult and burdensome and inconvenient or ordering you to forsake the few things that really bring you happiness. Come on. You've only got one life. Obedience is ugly. My way is fun. My way feels good.

Psalm 34:17 (NIV). The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.... ... Thoughts on This Verse... Deliverance! A great theme of the Bible is that God is a God of deliverance who keeps his promises and faithfully shares his grace, mercy, and justice. Let this promise stir you to righteous living and to cry out to God in all your troubles. One way to do this is to read through the Psalms regularly, letting these inspired words from so long ago offer a rich topography of prayer from which you can call to God. Whether you use the Psalms or not, however, cry out to God with the praises, questions, and wounds that life brings. Let his presence be real to you and your heart open to him

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles. When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn." Psalms 142:2-3 (NLT)
TODAY'S THOUGHT Why do we keep things from God? We hurt, we reel from painful situations and so often we bear them alone. Worst we are tempted to ignore our pain, mask our real feelings or compensate with our busyness. David suggests another way. He says when we are overwhelmed, we should come to God and pour out our complaints. I love the metaphor. God invites us to come and dump out our problems before Him, not worrying about the messiness. And David knew what it was like to be burdened. He wrote today's verse while he lived in a cave running from King Saul. Perhaps he remembered what he wrote at another time. He wrote, "Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens." There was his secret. He knew that God would daily bare His burdens. He knew God was the one who knew the way he should turn. And that same God, the God of David, will do the same for you. Today, come to God. Let Him bare your burden. Share your complaint with Him.
Bring to Him all your cares and worries. Let Him show you the way to peace and joy.
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, You know my complaints. You know my worries and cares. I bring them to You today. Take them Lord. I come, in the name of Jesus, asking that You would show me the way to go. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -I give my burdens to God In meditation go to a quiet place. Be at peace knowing you are there to meet God. Next to you sits all your complaints, cares and burdens. See yourself crying out to God and watch as He approaches. You know He is coming to check on you and to help you with any burden you may have. You wait until you know feel safe and then in faith you pour all your cares, complaints and burdens at His feet. You watch as He picks up each one. He reads them with love and empathy. You sense how deeply He cares as He lovingly consoles you and shows you what to do next.

CHANGE OF COURSE

Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord went to the high priest and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? - Acts 9:1-4.
One day at a neighboring church there was a lady who had some car problems. Her car caught on fire as she was traveling down the highway. She made it to the church parking lot and some people called the fire department. The fire department was able to save the back tires and the gas tank but everything else was burned. She seemed to have no reason to be in the area and you have to wonder if God was involved with a car suddenly catching fire just in time to make it to a church parking lot. Could be that she was on her way to somewhere she shouldn't have been? It may be that God stopped her. He's been known to do that before.
Saul, soon to be known as Paul, had a similar experience. Saul was on his way to cause some major damage to the earlier church. Being blinded by the Lord changed his mind and the course of life. From Saul the persecutor to Paul the apostle/missionary. Quite a change! If you need a change of course in your life what would it take to bring it about? Blindness? A car fire? Illness? Would God do such a thing? I know that he has done things like that in the apostle Paul's life. He has done things like that in my life.
Really, I don't know whether the lady yesterday was off course with her life or not. Could have just been a coincidence. But why wait for God, or a coincidence, to change the course of your life? If you are off course with your life, and know it why not change course now?
MY QUOTE FOR TODAY
Little men with little minds and little imaginations go through life in little ruts, smugly resisting all the changes which would jar their little worlds.

Romans 8:3-4 (NIV). For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit...... . Thoughts on This Verse... Jesus did what we could not do; he lived perfectly before God. He showed that sin isn't a necessity in our lives and that it does not have to hold us captive. He poured out his Spirit on us so that we could not only share in his forgiveness and cleansing grace, but also so that we could have power to live in a way that pleases God. Jesus is our sin offering and our Savior.
I KNOW ITS DIFFICULT SOMETIMES TO BE IN THE WORLD AND NOT OF THIS WORLD WITH SO MANY THINGS THAT ATTRACT US TO FALL BACK IN THE OLD WAYS OF LIFE AND WE ALL GET TEMPTED TO DO THE WRONG THINGS .....I THINK THE MORE WE CHRISTIANS ARE HONEST WITH EACH OTHER AND JOIN GROUPS AND BE REAL WE WILL SEE SOME HEALING IN OUR LIVES
GOD SAID IN OUR WEAKNESS HE IS STRONG SO LETS CONT THE FIGHT TO WIN THE BATTLE .

DELMAR

BE VIGILANT

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. - 1 Peter 5:8-9.
There has been a new Christian scandal, which has surfaced in the United States. The president of conservative Hillsdale College in Michigan has resigned. He resigned after his daughter-in- law confessed a 19 year long affair. She has since committed suicide. It is shocking and at the same time so very sad for this family and for this college. This scandal is only the most recent of a continuing saga of well-known Christians to have their immoralities publicly exposed.
Billy Graham has done some research, which reportedly shows at least 90 percent of Christians in the US are living defeated spiritual lives. The scandal at Hillsdale is shocking but does it really surprise us? It should serve as a warning of our own human weakness and fallibility. 90 percent living defeated spiritual lives? Most likely this includes some of us and if so how long before we crash and burn as well?
We must be constantly vigilant of our own spiritual condition. We must be constantly alert against the advances of the world into our lives. We must make a stand. We must put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11). We must take full advantage of all the resources of God (Jesus - Philippians 4:19). We must not neglect the Word, prayer, and the church. To do so is to invite spiritual disaster. To say that we are not susceptible is spiritual pride. Maybe that is why just prior to 1 Peter 5:8 we are told in verses 5 through 7, “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” QUOTE FOR TODAY
With such adversaries, growing in the fear of the Lord will not be a smooth process. Instead, it will be the path of warfare. We must hate the evil and ungodly assumptions of the world, we must hate our own sinful nature, and we must hate Satan. To accomplish these tasks demands the most powerful resources we have: The Word, the Spirit, and the body of Christ.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

OUR FATHER PLEASE HELP US TO BE A OVERCOMER NOT A DEFEATED CHRISTIAN... GOD WE ARE WEAK AND NEED YOU TO HELP US ..PLEASE GIVE US THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART AND HELP US TO HATE EVIL AND JESUS NAME AMEN

Jude 24-25 (NIV). To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy -- to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen....... Thoughts on This Verse... Two things I trust implicitly: 1) God's power and might, and 2) my joy at getting to share in his presence. My best efforts will always fall short, but God's grace is greater and more glorious than my best efforts! The faultlessness that I have when I stand before him is based on his grace and mercy. How can I not praise him from a thankful heart and anticipate seeing him face to face in glory?

I PERSONALLY KNOW IT A PROCESS TO DAILY DIE TO OUR OLD NATURE SINCE I BECOME A CHRISTIAN , TRULY I AM STILL DYING TO THE OLD NATURE AND GROWING TO BE MORE CHRISTLIKE ..SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE I AM GOING FORWARD OTHER TIMES I THINK WHAT HAPPEN I THOUGHT I WAS DOING OK THERE IS A SCRIPTURE WE USE IN THE 12 STEPS WHICH SAYS ..SO IF YOU THINK YOU ARE STANDING FIRM BECAREFUL THAT YOU DON'T FALL (1 CORINTHIANS 10:12) I KNOW WE HAVE TO TAKE PERSONAL INVENTORY AND ASK WHY I DO WHAT I DO AND WITH GOD'S HELP HE WILL HELP US .
DELMAR

PUT OFF THE OLD

...if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. - Ephesians 4:21-24.
Harry Truman while president of the United States in 1948 made a shocking discovery of the condition of the White House. When the honor guard marched him to a state dinner the crystal chandelier in his study swayed. When the butler walked in with breakfast Truman could feel the whole floor wobble. He called for engineers to examine the structure. The chief engineer reported the ceiling in the state dining room was only staying up from force of habit. Truman made a tough decision. He had the entire inside of the White House gutted. It was all torn out and rebuilt with only the shell remaining. When it was rebuilt it was with a steel framework which makes it as strong as any modern building.
There are many of us who wonder about the history that must have been lost in such a drastic reconstruction. Many were attached to the well worn floors with the smells of decades of momentous occasions. In much the same way we grow attached to our old lives, our old sins, our old circumstances, and habits. So when we are born again (John 3:3), becoming a new creature in Christ with old things passing away and all things becoming new (2 Corinthians 5:17) it is a drastic change! Our old lives have been gutted and a complete reconstruction has taken place.
We still have choices after becoming a new creature in Christ. Truman as President of the United States could have chosen not to live in the White House after the reconstruction was completed. He could have lived in a tent on the grounds but that would have been foolish. It would be foolish for us as well to live as we used to live when we don't have to any more. Paul in verse 22 says to put off all that old stuff and to begin to live as the new person that we are. In verses 25 through 32 he gives very specific ways of putting off the old and putting on the new. Paul finishes by saying in verse 32,And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Have you been living in a tent? Why not get out of there and try out the new place!?MY QUOTE FOR TODAY IS
God became man to turn creatures into sons: not simply to produce better men of the old kind but to produce a new kind of man.

Thoughts for Today - Trapped?

TRAPPED?

Is anything too hard for the Lord? - Genesis 18:14a.
Nicholas White had a long, long weekend. He was trapped at work from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Nicholas went out for a little cigarette break and the elevator stalled after a fraction of a second voltage drop. No one noticed Nicholas was gone. Probably thought he had left for home a little early. No one noticed until Sunday afternoon when he was spotted on a security camera. It’s not like he didn’t try to gain some attention. He screamed, he banged on the walls, he pushed every button, and he tried to climb through the ceiling of the elevator. After his release he said he was relieved and a little shaky. He refused medical attention and said he just wanted to go home.
Have you ever been trapped? Not in an elevator but by life? Many people feel as though they are trapped by life. It may be financial, or it may be their health, or it may be their marriage, or their job, or family, or an addiction, or so many things that seem to get in the way of the enjoyment of life. 40 hours seems like a slight inconvenience compared to the lives which some are living year after year. We may very well feel like Nicholas. We bang on the walls of heaven, we scream, we push every button we can find, we try to climb out but no one seems to notice; not even God.
What can we do? How do we escape? Somehow our focus must go beyond our situation. We must look beyond our temporary circumstances of this world to the eternal circumstances of the Kingdom of God. Abraham and Sarah were trapped in their old bodies of 100 and 90 years of age. But God said they would have the promised child. Sarah laughed at the possibility. We would have laughed too. The spiritual reality, however, was that there was nothing too hard for the Lord. We must put our focus on and our trust in Jesus (Hebrews 12:3). We must deposit our fears, worries, cares, anxieties, situations, circumstances all upon God (1 Peter 5:7). When we do that we will find through the power of God we have been translated from our prison of circumstances into the freedom of eternal life.
QUOTE FOR TODAY Every person in the world, including yourself, will encounter various trials throughout life. Satan seeks to defeat you by tempting you to trust your own wisdom, to live according to your self-centered feelings, and to gratify the desires of your flesh. In contrast, God’s will is for you to be an overwhelming conqueror in all of these tests for His honor and glory.

FATHER IN JESUS NAME HELP US NOT TO FEEL TRAPPED IN OUR CURCUMSTANCES OF ADDICTIONS , TROUBLES AND TRIALS OF LIFE BUT HELP US TO KNOW THE TRUTH BECAUSE THE TRUTH HELPS US TO BE SET FREE FROM THE CHAINS WE ARE SO USE TO LIVING TOO .

John 17:4 (NIV). ''I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.''...... Thoughts on This Verse... One of the most amazing things that Jesus ever said, he said to his Father in heaven:''I have completed the work you gave me to do ...'' In fact, when he breathed his last, he said,''It is finished.'' Let's live with the glory of God our highest priority! This is our purpose as God's children (cf. Eph. 1:6, 12, 14; 1 Pet. 2:9-10). The more we live by Kingdom priority (Matt. 6:33), the more we can rest assured that we can finish our lives with a line similar to Jesus'!

HIS WONDERS

He does great things past finding out, yes, wonders without number. - Job 9:10.

Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth. - Psalm 105:5.

I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me. How great are His signs, and how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation. - Daniel 4:2-3.

I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. - Daniel 6:26-27.

This past week I encountered a walking talking miracle in the form of one of my Old Friends . SD was at one time an alcoholic, drug addict, and psychotic. When he shared during a lunch with me that he was hearing voices telling him to hurt people..... a few years later i heard he was committed to a mental institution where he stayed for many months. I thought he probably meant me, for one, when he said he was hearing voices telling him to hurt people.

It had been at least twelve years, since I had talked with SD, and so I was surprised to see him. The amazing thing is that he looked very good and talked in a very sane manner. SD shared with me that he is now chairing the AA meetings at the hospital that he has been attending for so many years. Only through a miracle, the intervention of God in a mighty and dramatic way has SD come so far from what he used to be. What a joy it was to see him in such a transformed condition and to be able to visit with him!
We sometimes have a tendency to write people off as being too hard and beyond the possibility of change. I know we would never say that to anyone but isn’t that what we think when we encounter a person like SD? To be honest I thought SD would never be in his right mind and would always be a very dangerous person. In fact, I was upset when I learned that he had been released from the mental institution and prior to that I had been upset when he had been released from prison. I may not have even voiced it as a thought but in my heart, I thought SD was one of those impossible cases beyond the reach of God - a hopeless case and a hopeless situation. Obviously, I was wrong!
Are there people that you have stopped praying for because in your heart you do not believe they will ever change? Have you given up after a few months or even a few years of prayer and witnessing? Maybe we need to reconsider and ask God, whether there is anyone too far gone for Him to change. What do you think God will say? Will He say that He has grown weak and is no longer omnipotent (all-powerful) ? Of course not! Isaiah makes this clear, "Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear (Isaiah 59:1)
God is still performing wonders, doing marvelous works and delivering/rescuing the souls of lost men, women, boys, and girls. His hand has not grown short.
my quote for today is

There is mercy with the Lord; this should encourage the miserable to approach Him; this informs the fearful that they need bring nothing to induce Him to bless them; this calls upon backsliders to return to Him; and this is calculated to cheer the tried Christian, under all his troubles and distresses. Remember, mercy is like God, it is infinite and eternal. Mercy is always on the throne. Mercy may be obtained by any sinner.
James Smith

PRAYERS

DEAR GOD HELP US TO LOVE OTHERS AS WE LOVE OURSELVES , EVEN IF PEOPLE SEEM TO BE A OUT CAST FOR US TO HANDLE AT TIMES ..BUT THE TRUTH IS YOUR MERCY AND GRACE IS SO MUCH MORE THEN WHAT WE HAVE FOR OTHERS ...GIVES US YOUR EYES TO SEE THROUGH YOUR EYES AND HELP US NOT TO GIVE UP ON OTHERS IN JESUS NAME AMEN

John 1:12 (NIV). Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God......... Thoughts on This Verse... Isn't it incredible that we are called children of God!? But that is exactly what we are! (cf. 1 John 3:1-3.) We are God's children. Our Father created the universe with its billions and billions of heavenly bodies. Our Father paints a new sunset every day and chases away the darkness every morning. Our Father not only loves us, but he also claims us as his own and will bring us to his eternal home. Why? Because we heard his message in Jesus. Because we received his grace offered in his Son. Incredible! Glorious! Grace!

What Really Matters

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." Romans 17:14 (NLT)
TODAY'S THOUGHT It is so easy to get our priorities mixed up isn't it? We tend to put life into a box full of rules, regulations and standards by which to measure ourself. We must look a certain way, think a certain way, achieve certain levels of accomplishments, acquire the right kind of accessories. Then we come up with all sorts of core beliefs that sustain these rules. For example, we may believe, deep in our heart, that if we don't accomplish a certain goal, we will not be liked. If we don't drive the right kind of car or live in the right kind of community, people will think little of us. Of course, these thoughts alone don't motivate us, it is the perceived "terrible" consequences such as rejection, abandonment, punishment or worst, annihilation that frightens us to death and drives us to succeed at any cost. The fact is, these "terrible" results are only in our mind! We will not die if certain people do not like us. We are not a "loser" that will
be totally annihilated if we do not live in the "right" house. Instead, Paul points out what we should really strive for. We should strive to live a good righteous life. We should seek joy and peace through the Holy Spirit. These are the important things in life. And best of all, these are freely given to any person who asks. When we come to God seeking these very things, He will not turn us away. It is His will that you live righteously, full of peace and joy through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. What do you want? Begin today to seek the things that really matter. Follow God, He will not disappoint.
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, You know what is really important. You know that I have bought so many lies about success and self worth. I need Your help to know the truth. So, please Lord, help me live a life of goodness today. Please give me what really matters, that is joy and peace which comes from Your Holy Spirit. Help me live today in a way that is pleasing to you. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -I get joy and peace from living for God Picture yourself pushing a large car uphill. Feel your muscles strain and sense fatigue and desperation coming upon you. See this as trying to find your own peace in joy by jumping through everyone else's hoops. Now hop in the automobile with it pointing down hill. Put it in neutral and see how effortless it moves by itself. See this as living for God and enjoying His peace and joy. Today choose to live for God. See it in your mind. Sense the peace and joy in your body that comes from following God.

Luke 2:10 (NIV). But the angel said to them,''Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.''... ... Thoughts on This Verse... Don't be afraid! What can cast away all fear in the presence of God's glorious messengers? The joy of knowing that God has come to earth to bring an end to sin and Satan's curse and to bring salvation to all people! Fear must not master our hearts when we know that God has broken through every barrier to reach us with his overwhelming grace

Compassion

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."' Matthew 9:36-38 (NIV)
TODAY'S THOUGHT Everyone has a story. Everyone hurts sometime. If not now, wait ten minutes. It is a hurting world. This is what Jesus saw. He saw the crowds, harassed and helpless. He compared them to lost sheep without a shepherd to protect them. And when He saw them, He had compassion. Why? Because He was God incarnate! God in the flesh. All you have to do, to understand why Jesus reacted the way He did, is to read the Old Testament. God Jehovah had compassion on the poor and needy. Even in Proverbs, Solomon gives us instruction to help those in need. He writes, "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." We are to defend the rights of the poor and needy. But you ask, "What can I do?" I don't know. All I can say is that I asked God, "What can I do?" and He has given me more than I can handle. It starts with your willing heart. From
your heart it moves to your eyes. Next it moves to your head, then to your hands and feet. If you are willing to be used on behalf of the needy and ask God to help you help others, His love takes over. His compassion will be more than you could ever begin to contain. His miracles on behalf of the needy will be more than you can keep up with. God loves His human race, but He ordained His church to be His hands and feet. When Jesus saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he called his disciples for help. He is still calling! What will you do?
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, where do I begin? There are so many needs, so many hurting and dying. But You have me here, where I am right now, so I ask You to use me today, right her, right now, to make a difference in someone's life. Help me see with Your eyes, love with Your heart and move with Your power. In Jesus' Name. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -God has called me to make a difference Picture Jesus walking through the crowds of people. See them through His eyes. Feel His compassion, His mercy, His resolve to help them. See Him pray for the sick, heal the hurting and those that were spiritually and emotional distraught. Visualize yourself walking with Him and He turns to you and says, "I want you to go and do the same as I am doing." At first you are full of doubts but then you sense that Jesus has asked you to do it and He will empower you. You look at Him and say, "Yes Lord, I will go and make a difference in Your name."

Psalm 138:8 (NIV). The LORD will fulfill [his purpose] for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever -- do not abandon the works of your hands....... Thoughts on This Verse... First there is conviction: the LORD will finish his work in us! (cf. Phil. 1:6). Second, there is declaration: the LORD's love endures and doesn't fail (cf. 1 Cor. 13:8). Finally, there is supplication: O Lord, don't forget me, your creation (cf. Ps. 139:13-16). What beautiful balance for our walk with the Lord.

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?" - "When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, 'Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.' So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten." John 6:9, 12-13 (NIV)
TODAY'S THOUGHT I love the Lord's math. He made the whole creation out of nothing! He took the death of one man, Jesus, and is able to forgive the sins of every person that comes to Him. He took the boy's five loaves and two fishes and fed thousands of people. Can you imagine what He can do with our one life if we dedicated it to Him? God is the God of compound interest! He can take the little that we have and compound it into an eternity of impact for His purposes. Today, do not despair if all you have is a few loaves and fishes. Bring what you have to God. Give Him your life. Consecrate it to Him for His service and then get out of the way! God is waiting to compound the willingness of His people.
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, thank You that You can take my life and use it for Your service. I pray, Father, take what I have and multiply it for Your good. I give You my life, here I am Lord, use me. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -I give my life to God for His service Picture yourself as the boy with the loafs of bread and fish. Jesus comes along and takes it and multiplies it feeding thousands of people. Now picture Him coming to you. See yourself giving Him your life, your talents, your possessions. Picture God taking you, just the way you are, and using you for His glory.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV). Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain....... Thoughts on This Verse... Our financial investment opportunities can be fickle. Friends can disappoint you. Nothing is truly sure except one thing, or better yet, our very special Someone! If we build our lives on his work and his plan, we can hang in, persevere, and even triumph regardless of what happens in this life.
I BELIEVE WE ALL HAVE A WAR IN OUR MIND TO BATTLE BUT THEN AGAIN THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD ....SOMETIMES THE FLESH IS SO WEAK
I AGREE WITH PAUL IN ROMANS 7 ..I DO WHAT I DO NOT WANT TO DO BUT I DO IT ANYWAY ...SOMEDAYS I JUST LOVE HAVING A PITY PARTY FEELING SORRY FOR MYSELF BUT GOD IS GOOD AND FAITHFUL EVEN WHEN WE ARE FAITHLESS
SO AS THE BOOK OF HEBREWS SAY WE CAN COME BOLDLY TO THE THRONE OF GRACE TO ACCEPT MERCY IN TIME OF NEED

The Enemy is a Liar

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; - 2 Corinthians 10:5.

Most of the time, our outward appearance doesn't give away the thoughts in our mind. Perhaps we look like we own the world, but the thoughts in our mind are to the contrary! We may have thoughts of depression or suicide. We may feel so unloved, we just want to crawl under a rug some place and forget we are living. Â Life can be so hard, at times, and the enemy uses our thoughts to make it feel seem as though we will never get out from under our troubles.

Well, the enemy is a liar. We can obsess with our thoughts! The enemy is good at putting things  in our minds that aren't true. We need to learn how to combat the devil, and destroy 'his testimony' in our lives! Yes, he has a testimony; every time we look at our faults and obsessions instead of looking to GOD for the help to get us out of our problems! That testimony shows to others. Oh, perhaps it's not the testimony we want to show in our lives, but it's there, nonetheless!

But, GOD is able to replace that 'testimony' with a testimony of victory! Those thoughts can come under subjection to the Holy Spirit and be removed from our minds. Nothing is impossible with GOD!

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds) - 2 Corinthians 10:4.

We do walk in the flesh, but we don't have to walk 'after the flesh'. We need to get our minds in line with the Word of God and know that HE is able to give us the knowledge of the Word that will help us through every situation in our lives. When the thoughts of the enemy begin to penetrate your being, pick up the WORD! Concentrate on the Words of God - the TRUTH in the Word! God can bring down those thoughts of depression and suicide. He can remove all those worldly thoughts that keep you under bondage. He is able to do 'exceeding abundantly above' [Ephesians 3:20] anything we ask or receive! The enemy will get you down, but God can bring you back up! Life may feel heavy, but GOD, the God of enough, can make life a joy! The enemy will attack your faith with lies, but God can build your faith through your obedience to Him.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: - 2 Corinthians 10:3 .

Is your 'shoulder' heavy with the weight of the enemy and his lies? Why not take those lies to God, for His Word says that 'the cares of this world' [Mark 4:19] Â will choke the Word, and it will become unfruitful. Let God get you back on track through His Holy Word today, so that you might walk in victory and your thoughts be on Him.

Prayer : Our Loving Heavenly Father, the enemy would have us get our minds off you and on to wicked thoughts of the world. Help us to live close to you today, Â and to pick up the Word daily to build our faith in you. We give you praise. . Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Rescue Me

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate, I do.-- What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God-through Jesus Christ our Lord!" Romans 7:15, 24-25 (NIV)
TODAY'S THOUGHT How many times have we found ourself in this dilemma? We sit in the aftermath of some mess we have just created and wonder, "How in the world did I get here?" Paul knew what it felt like to utterly fail at trying to change his behavior. Who can't relate to this passage? At the end of the day we have all felt like the "wretched man" that Paul is writing about. Dr. William Backus, in his book, "Learning To Tell Myself The Truth" explains it this way, "The sinfulness of human nature, man's deepest spiritual disorder, involves a quarrel with God. Springing from this rift are underlying false beliefs about God and His attitude toward us (Spiritual misbeliefs), which in turn lead to untruthful thoughts, thoughts that affect our feelings and behavior and created difficulties in our relationship with others." Out of these core misbeliefs come all sort of evil. But Paul doesn't stop there. He asks, "Who will rescue me?" Then he gives a resounding
answer, "Jesus Christ our Lord." Backus says it this way, "The reality of sin and its effects in our daily lives is not the final word. As Christians we have the ultimate good news, the key to a healthier spiritual core." Today, come to Christ for cleansing. Accept His total forgiveness. Ask Him to point out any Spiritual lies that are dragging you down. Throw off "wretched man" thinking and accept His grace, love and forgiveness.
TODAY'S PRAYER Lord, You know my temptations, struggles and failures. I confess I have believed lies about You that I need to get rid of. Help me know what they are and begin my inner cleansing. Thank You that Jesus Christ has rescued me. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -I am completely forgiven and loved by God Come to God in meditation. Picture God completely cleansing you from all your sins. Feel His forgiveness. Sense the deep love and compassion He has for you. Guilt and condemnation start to rise in your heart but then you hear a voice in your head say, "There is not condemnation, I have forgiven you and set you free."

Moment In The Word

Wake Up

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE TODAY'S VERSE "Then the angel said to him, 'Put on your clothes and sandals.' And Peter did so. 'Wrap your cloak around you and follow me,' the angel told him. Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision." Acts 12:8-9 (NIV)
TODAY'S THOUGHT Peter was being set free from prison by an angel and did not even know it. He thought he was dreaming. Isn't that a lot like us? Jesus came along and said that if we hold to His teachings, we would know the truth and the truth would set us free. What truth? The truth found in what Jesus taught. He taught that we could have a relationship with Him; that He would love us unconditionally; He would give us peace that passes all our understanding; He would forgive us of all our sins; and that He came to give us an abundant life. What promises, what a spiritual reality, and yet, like Peter, our walk gives us away. Peter was walking in a trance. He did not realize he was being set free. We walk the same way. How many mornings do we awaken only to walk in a spiritual stupor, go to work and live out our day as if God did not even exist? How many days have we spent defeated, far from the reality of victory that Jesus promises? Thankfully, Peter
came to senses, woke up and realized that he was indeed free from jail. We need to do the same thing that Peter did. We need to wake up! It is time to get the sleeping dust out of our eyes, and wake up to the tremendous Spiritual reality that God has for us. Peter wrote a wonderful promise that should be smelling salts to our soul. In II Peter 2:3-4 he writes, "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature." Jesus said it this way, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.--If the Son sets you free, you are truly free."
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, help me understand the truth of Your teachings. Help me believe it, trust it and live it. I want to know what it is to be Spiritually free, free from all that is holding me down, that is chaining me in bondage. Wake me up, Father, that I may see the reality of the freedom You have given me in Christ Jesus my Lord. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -I am spiritually alive in Christ See yourself like Peter, in a stupor, being led from prison. You are unaware of what is going on, but then you wake up. You begin to realize that you have miraculously been set free! Sense your joy. Feel the amazement in your gut. Feel joy capture your face. You are free! And then turn and see that it was Jesus that set you free. He says to you, "Come follow me." Filled with gratitude and a strong sense of purpose you follow Him. Breathe deep and say out loud, "I am spiritually alive in Christ."

Philippians 2:7-8 (NIV). ...but [Jesus] made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death - even death on a cross!...... Thoughts on This Verse... Christianity is not for wimps or the faint of heart. Our example is described by words like''made himself of no reputation'' ...''servant' ' ...''humbled himself'' ...''became obedient'' ...''death on a cross!'' That's tough stuff. And that is our example. The story of the Jesus may begin with a sweet child, but it also begins with him being placed where animals ate their food. While it may be powerful and precious, it is not saccharine and fake sentiment. It is about the price paid to redeem and the people who are different because they know their Redeemer.

Moment In The Word

Created To Do Good

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE TODAY'S VERSE "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
TODAY'S THOUGHT It is amazing to study how the cells in the body all work together in order to survive as an organism. Insects work in hives all working together for the survival of their species. Systems throughout the universe are in motion working in harmony. But then there is mankind. How dysfunctional can we get? We don't work together for the survival of our own kind. It is every person for their own self. This is not God's desire. God created humans to exist in a system that has each of us looking out for the interests of others. He created love to be our model of coexistence. As Christians, He created us in Christ to do good works. The author of Hebrews writes, "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." Today's verse reminds us that God has prepared us in advance for this great task. God has called each of us to be His ambassador of "good". This is why we are called the "light on top of the
hill" and the "salt of the earth." But God doesn't make us do His will. Instead through the Holy Spirit, He reminds us not forget to do good and to share with others. And the world needs good. There are so many weary, hurting, broken, saddened, terrified people all around us. Every family has a story. So today volunteer. Just show up. Let God know that you will be willing to help someone today and then be available. He will lead you, He will guide you to someone who needs your help. And you will be blessed, for there is nothing better than doing what you were created to do. After all, you have been called by God Himself to do good works, which He prepared in advance for you to do!
TODAY'S PRAYER Lord, I pray that You will open my eyes to all the opportunities to do good around me. I know that You have created me to do good. I know that it is Your desire, yet I need You to guide me. Direct me to someone who needs what I have. Someone who will benefit from the way you have wired me. Guide me, then empower me to do the good that You have prepared in advance for me to do. In Jesus' name. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -I have been created to do good Today visualize God creating you. He thought of you in advance and planned long ago that you would be the kind of person you are. Sense how He has wired you. Feel the love and kindness He has placed in your heart. See Him calling you to rise up and fulfill the purpose He has called you to. See in your minds eye God filling you with compassion and you making a difference in peoples life. Sense the joy and fulfillment it gives you to know that you are doing the good that He created you to do.

Psalm 9:2 (NIV). I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High....... Thoughts on This Verse... When was the last time you made up a song? The last time you made up a song of praise to God? Worried that you can't do it? Don't think it will be good? Don't worry! your only audience is your Abba Father who longs to hear your heart sing regardless of your voice's perfection or your melody's tune. He wants to rejoice and be glad with you. So open your heart and raise your voice to praise your God.

Accepted And Forgiven

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE TODAY'S VERSE "LORD, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness. " Psalms 130:3-4 (NLT)
TODAY'S THOUGHT We sin. We know it. But do we gloat? Do we take it lightly? God forbid. Can you imagine if God kept a record of all we have done wrong? Worst, if he punished us accordingly? The Psalmist was right to say, "Who could ever survive?" But when we repent, when we confess, God's grace forgives and accepts us as His loving child. Today's verse reminds me of one of my favorite prayers. It is by Neil Anderson in his book, "Bondage Breaker" in the section, "Steps To Freedom In Christ." Let me paraphrase it. He writes, "I reject the devil's lies that I am not clean or in any way unacceptable to You as a result of my past sin. Lord, thank You that You have cleansed and forgiven me and that You love and accept me just the way I am. Therefore I choose now to accept myself as clean in your eyes. In Jesus name I pray. Amen"
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, I do reject the devil's lies that I am not forgiven or that I am in any way unacceptable to You as a result of my past sin. I thank you that I am cleansed and forgiven. I praise You because You love and accept me just the way I am. I choose now dear Lord to accept myself as totally clean acceptable and forgiven in your sight. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -I am forgiven and accepted by God Picture yourself falling down the side of a hill into a polluted pool of slime and waste. You come up the hill covered in the mire and stench. See God calling you over to a private facility where this is a shower and new set of clothes. You go in and get totally clean and put on the new clothes. God is waiting for you and invites you to come with Him to eat and fellowship. All is well, all is clean, all is forgiven. You are loved and accepted by God. See yourself living in that reality even today.

Psalm 103:8 (NIV). The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love....... Thoughts on This Verse... God is holy, righteous, and just. But, as important as these qualities are, he reveals them within his compassion, graciousness, patience, and overflowing mercy and love. We cannot only obey, worship, and reverently respect God; we can also love, appreciate, and adore him! Maybe the greatest challenge, however, is to reflect the character of God in our own lives in the ways that we interact with other people as well as the ways that we view him!

My Heart His Home

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God." Psalm 84:1-2 (NIV)
TODAY'S THOUGHT God never intended to confine Himself to a temple made by human hands. He had a better plan. He created man as a vessel for His very presence by placing a vacuum into the human heart that could only be filled with His presence. The Psalmist illustrates this when he writes, "My heart and flesh cry out for the living God." Paul makes it crystal clear when he shares, "Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?" What a wondrous concept. So when we read, "How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD," we can literally superimpose that image to our very body. His dwelling place, the very courts of the Lord, has found their new home, through the presence of the Holy Spirit, within our own body. Today you don't have to go anywhere special to worship God. You don't have to make a pilgrimage or look for lofty
cathedrals. His presence abides in you. He who you come to worship is alive in your heart. Bow before Him, enter the gates of your heart with thanksgiving and worship Him.
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, thank You for creating Your new temple within my own body. I bow before You as my Lord and Savior. My soul yearns, even faints to be conscience of Your presence. I worship You today in Spirit and truth. In Jesus' Name. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -My heart is God's home The filling of the Holy Spirit into every believer is a reality that the Bible teaches. See the joy on God's face when you received Christ as your Savior. He sees you and with a motion of His hand He imparts His Holy Spirit to you. Sense the Holy Spirit coming and joining with you in a mystical relationship, making His residence in your very soul. Breathe deep and as you inhale, picture the indwelling of the Holy Spirit coming to you during your new birth. As you exhale picture yourself living under His influence being filled with His guidance and power.

Romans 6:15 (NIV). What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!...... Thoughts on This Verse... This matching verse to Romans 6:1-2, is the great reminder that sin is no longer our master and no longer our choice. We choose to live for God with every fiber of our being and loathe the life of sin that once held us in bondage to death and defeat.

Moment In The Word

Trust

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "The LORD forbid that I should do this to my lord the king and attack the LORD's anointed one, for the LORD himself has chosen him." I Samuel 24:6 (NLT)
TODAY'S THOUGHT I am amazed at David's faith and trust in God. In fact this is one of the most amazing stories in the Bible. Here was David running from King Saul, hiding in caves, and when opportunity presented itself and King Saul went alone into the same cave David and his men were staying in, David did not attack the King. Even after his men, his faithful comrades who were with him through all his struggles, saw this as a gift from God and beseeched David to strike Saul dead, all David did was to cut a piece of hem from Saul's robe when Saul wasn't looking. When asked why he did not kill Saul David replied, "The LORD forbid that I should do this to my lord the king and attack the LORD's anointed one, for the LORD himself has chosen him." David trusted God. He knew that God allowed Saul to be King and without word from God, David would not take justice into His own hands. He trusted God to work it all out. That kind of faith takes courage. It takes a
deep belief in the love of God. It takes a personal knowledge of God's own provision in God's own time. That is the kind of faith David had. When circumstances come our way that challenge us deep to the core, might God help us have that kind of faith too.
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, I want a deep faith like David. Help me know You in a more deep and personal way so I too will choose to trust You in my struggles. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -I trust God in all my circumstances Today, visualize yourself trusting God in the midst of struggles. See yourself on your knees crying out to God for His help, His peace and His overwhelming presence. Then picture God coming to you in His love and power and assuring you that all is well. Sense the peace that comes over you as you put your faith and trust in Him. Repeat today's affirmation, "I trust God in all my circumstances. "

John 17:23 (NIV). ''... I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.''...... Thoughts on This Verse... How will the world come to know that God sent his Son? Through our unity. How will the world know that God truly loves us as his children? When we live together in unity. What is that unity? That's harder to define. The basis of unity comes from our love for Jesus, our love for each other, and our devotion to his will. These things lead to a life of character so consistent with the will of God that he can be seen living in us! Yet for this kind of unity to be seen by the world, it has to be visible in the way we work with each other in the cause of the Gospel, the way we handle our differences, the way as a group that we consistently treat people of the world, and the way we come together in areas that clearly matter to God. May it only be so!

I HAVE BEEN SINGLE SO LONG I GUESS ITS POSSIBLE TO BE SINGLE THE REST OF MY LIFE
I THINK WHATS STOPS ME IS MANY THINGS ONE IS ...I HEAR SO MANY BREAKING UP RELATIONSHIPS GROWING UP AND PEOPLE HAVE BAD RELATIONSHIPS ...MOMS , DAD THE LIST GOES ON BUT NOT SAYING ALL RELATIONSHIPS ARE BAD ...SOME ARE PRECIOUS TO KEEP
WHEN I HEAR OF COUPLES BEING TOGETHER FOR 50 YEARS I THINK ITS GREAT ....AND A GIFT
FOR ME JUST HAVING A RELATIONSHIP WITH A PERSON AS A FRIEND IS HARD WORK SOME TIMES BUT I DO LOVE MY TIME ALONE WITH GOD AND SPENDING TIME WITH HIM .

When You Don't Feel Loving

"Let love be your highest goal" - (1 Corinthians 14:1, NLT).

As none of us is perfect, most of us have an issue of one kind or
another. Probably my biggest issue was being afraid to love, which
came from childhood hurts. A friend recently asked me if I ever still
feel afraid to love and I said not very often but sometimes I
do. "What do you do when you feel this way?" he asked to which I
replied, "I do the loving thing."

Nobody feels loving all the time, but we can always do the loving
thing if we so choose. People who choose otherwise usually end up
driving love away. I've seen this happen and I'm sure you have too.

Jesus never told us how we should or shouldn't feel … he just told us
how to act. Sure, it is important to recognize and acknowledge our
feelings. Not to do so is to be in denial. However, it is equally
important not to allow our feelings to control us. That can be
childish and immature. But rather, we need to be in control of our
feelings and regardless of what we feel, always do the right thing,
the loving thing. This is a mark of maturity.

Prayer: "Our Loving Heavenly Father, no matter what situation I am in
nor how I feel, please help me to be like Jesus and always do the
right thing, the loving thing—even if this includes tough love where
such is needed. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer.
Gratefully, In Jesus loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Ephesians 6:12 (NIV). For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms...... . Thoughts on This Verse... The battle we face is not just a physical one. Instead, it is a spiritual battle with powers that we do not easily see and which are very powerful. We shouldn't dismiss this as an imaginary battle or as an irrelevant struggle. Just as clearly as Satan was crouching at Cain's door, desiring to have him, so he crouches at our door (Gen. 4:7). He will use his forces of evil to do all he can to defeat, destroy, or corrupt us. We must take this war seriously and recognize the spiritual power of our foe.

AS MANY KNOW I HAVE BEEN A PRODIGAL SO MANY TIMES ..I LEFT MY SAVIOR HE NEVER NEVER LEFT ME ...I THINK THE IN MY HEAD I HAVE A HARD TIME FORGIVING MYSELF ...GOD HAS ALREADY FORGIVEN ME ....I ALWAYS NEEDED TO BE REMINDED THAT AS I READ HIS WORD AND PUT IT IN MY THINKING CAP .

Drifting Away From God - Thursdays - August 4th 2011

Drifting Away From God

"When he came to his senses, he said, "How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men." So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him." - Luke 15:17-20 (NIV).

I love going outside on a clear night and looking through my
telescope at the beautiful planets, and out beyond into the endless
creation that our wonderful Creator has designed. Knowing that the
things we can view through telescopes and the vast distances to the
stars are just a small, minute part of His wonderful creation puts
things into perspective. It shows us just how little we really are --
compared to Him and his awesome power, wisdom, and might.

When we view these far-away stars and galaxies over the millions of
miles, we realize that God is right there, and, at the same time, He
is here in our hearts. He is everywhere in His creation. We can't
fully understand how that's possible, but we will someday.

Even though God is able to be everywhere at the same time, we can
drift away from Him and not even realize it. We can completely
separate ourselves from Him.

Yet, if we've been drifting away for years and years, once we turn
back, it doesn't take years and years to get back to Him. He's there,
waiting with open arms to accept us back. He forgets all the hurt
we've done to Him. He completely forgives us for everything.

The prodigal, or lost son, who had gone away, had lost contact with
his father and had lost everything his father had given him. He
finally came to his senses and realized how much he needed his
father, so he started back home.

But it didn't take him long to reach his father. His father came
running out to him with open arms and met him before he reached home, and hugged him, and forgave him.

That's how God is. When He sees us turn around, He runs out to meet us. His speed is limitless. He's there instantly to meet us, to hug
us, and to forgive us for whatever we've done. What a wonderful God we serve!

Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace to give You thanks and to praise Your holy name. Help us to keep our eyes focused on You and to make sure we don't start drifting away. Thank You for the knowledge You've given us that if we do drift away, You are faithful to accept us back instantly. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Thursday and God Bless you.

Psalm 37:28 (NIV). For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever ......... Thoughts on This Verse... God is committed to his people. He loves justice, and those who pursue it. He will not forget his people, those who seek to honor him by displaying his character in their lives. God has promised that he will honor his promises to his people and preserve them with his protecting power, forever. As God has said elsewhere,'' Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you!'' (Heb. 13:5-6)
Moment In The Word

Don't Resist

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "Must you forever resist the Holy Spirit?" Acts 7:51 (NLT)
TODAY'S THOUGHT It is a sad reality. As much as God loves us and as much as we know we need God in our life we so often live as if God wasn't even in the equation. A conviction comes and we ignore it. An impulse to do the right thing and we self sabotage. If we are not careful we too will be guilty of resisting the Holy Spirit. So what can we do? We need to repent and then we need to reprioritize. We can begin to make time for reading the scriptures. The Holy Spirit will speak to us through its pages. We can devekop a practice to pray about those things that are on our mind. In prayer the Holy Spirit will guide us and commune with our heart. We can set aside time for quietness and in the few moments we spend, the Holy Spirit will whisper assurances of His love and comfort to our heart. Our Holy God's Spirit resides in us. Let us rejoice in this fact and humble our hearts to love and obey Him.
TODAY'S PRAYER Dear Father, forgive me for the times I have resisted Your Spirit's voice. The times I have stubbornly gone my own way. I repent. Help me to renew Your fellowship. Help me to receive Your comfort and hear Your voice of reason and instruction. Might I live for You I pray. In Jesus' name. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -I obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit It is easy to wander far from God. Today, visualize yourself coming back to Him. Sense the presence of the Holy Spirit and welcome it. See yourself full of joy and peace as you fellowship with the Holy Spirit and its leadings. See yourself devout, living with the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, in your life. Say each fruit of the Spirit out loud and as you do, cry out, "Lord I want it, I want more of it."
---

Romans 8:26 (NIV). In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express..... .. Thoughts on This Verse... Isn't it incredible! Even in those times when my words are blocked and my heart is heavy, God hears my prayers. It is not because I am articulate, wise, or faithful enough to pray as I should. No, it is because God has graciously placed his Spirit in our hearts to make known what my words cannot capture and my mind cannot verbalize. God hears my groanings, my yearnings, my heartbreaks, and my heart-cries. He knows what I cannot think, but only feel. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, he answers those unuttered prayers with his presence, grace, and power.

Does The Devil Attack Christians?

"Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against
the wiles of the devil…. Stand therefore, having girded your waist
with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and
having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of
salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit."
(Ephesians 6:11, 14-18, NKJV).

A reader writes: "Please help me. I am being
attacked by the devil. Everything that can go wrong is going wrong. I
don't know what to do. I am praying to the Lord daily but something
is truly cursing me."

Obviously I don't know if this person is being attacked by the devil
or not because I don't know enough about him/her or the circumstances he/she is facing. Yes, I believe strongly in the devil and yes he does attack Christians. I also believe in his demonic emissaries, but there isn't a demon behind every tree, nor is there one under every
stone.

There are several reasons besides the devil why so many things can go
wrong all at once. First, we happen to live in a broken world and
things go wrong for all of us at times. That's par for the course.
Learning to cope with, resolve, or live with these situations is all
part of helping us to grow in maturity.

Second, certainly the devil is the originator of all evil and sin,
but often things go wrong because of our poor choices. For instance,
the title of a talk I have given is: "The Devil Didn't Make Me Do It—
I Can Foul Things Up All by Myself." And I certainly can. Blaming the devil for my bad choices can be a handy excuse to hang on to if I
don't want to grow up and accept responsibility for my actions.

Third, when we have unresolved personal problems—such as unresolved anger, hurt, or guilt, etc. —we can give the enemy a foothold. Once we bring these problems to the light and seek God's help and wise counsel to resolve them, the enemy loses his foothold.

Fourth, to defend against the enemy, as today's Scripture advises, we
need to put on the whole armor of God. Also, without being compulsive or over-dramatic we can quietly repeat: "Jesus Christ is Lord and the Lord of my life." That is one statement that Satan does not like!

Finally, and not the least unimportant is that we need to ask God to
reveal to us the reality of what is happening to us, remembering that
often we don't want to face reality because deep down we are afraid
to face the real cause/s behind our problems.

Prayer: "Our Loving Heavenly Father, when the enemy assails and
things go wrong, please show me what is of the devil and what is of
myself—and give me the wisdom to know the difference. If from the
enemy, help me to put on the whole armor of God, and if from myself,
give me the courage to face the cause of my problems and get the help
I need to overcome. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer.
Gratefully, In Jesus loving Name I Pray, Amen."

God Bless you all.

Proverbs 18:24 (NIV). A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother..... .. Thoughts on This Verse... Close spiritual friends -- the kind that can hold us accountable when we need it, build us up when we're down, or celebrate with us when we've enjoyed success -- are truly rare. So many people are lonely; they're lonely for something, or better yet, someone, they've never experienced. We have a tendency in modern western culture to have acquaintances and companions instead of friends and partners. When things go poorly, when we have nothing to offer to them, acquaintances can run away in times of trouble or fade away if things are long and protracted. There are, however, true friends whose commitment and dedication are deeper than even physical family. How do I know? God promised it! I've seen it! My family has been blessed by it! So let's hear the call to be that kind of friend to others and in so
doing, we will often find that kind of friend for ourselves.

Sometimes we must slow down and face who we are and listen to other people and friends and family
go out and have a cup of coffee ...Life is short as Helga Hoppers express in this quote
Whatever might have happened, not every thing is bad news. Jesus is on your side. You may be forced to spend a lot of time on your own, but utilise that time. I find it enables me to get a lot into the Word, and to pray for many people. I see all the people rushing as I used to do, and many are hurting. I have learnt to sit and watch people. As a lady walks past I say, "Thank you Lord that she can walk. I am sure she needs it more than I now do. Maybe she has family", and I start praying for her needs, and I find that as I do that I can cope with any hurt in my heart. I am convinced there is no hurt in your heart that you cannot overcome as you reach out to the needs of others.

Hurry, Hurry, Fast, Fast

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." - Psalm 46:10 (NIV).

"I'm not a sociolinguist, " writes Karen Carr, missionary psychologist, "but I find languages fascinating. The other day in Ghana I was walking past a Ghanaian man talking on his cell phone in Twi (a local language here). Suddenly, in the midst of a sea of words I could not understand, I heard, 'Hurry, hurry. Fast, fast.'

"Why did he need to switch to English to use those words? In a culture where relationships are valued more than task, where listening to someone is more important than crossing off my 'to do' list, where greeting someone before you get to the point of your conversation is a very high value—hurry, hurry, fast, fast is apparently a value grafted in from the West. I chuckled as I walked away and slowed my pace down just a fraction—reminding myself that I can enjoy the journey just as much as the destination. "

Back in college days I used to have a small placard on my desk that said, "Beware of the barrenness of a busy life." Some years ago there was a popular song that said: "Slow down you move to fast, got to make the morning last...looking for fun and feeling groovy."

I don't know about you but I still struggle with being too busy most of the time and need to remind myself that I need to take time to have fun and to smell the roses as life is short. At the same time I also realize that my life is an investment in eternity so I need to make sure my days are balanced and wisely spent. As William Penn said, "I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."

And as another has wisely said, "Only one life 'twill soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last."

Prayer: "Loving Father in Heaven, please help me to live a balanced life, to invest my life wisely with eternal values in mind, and never be too busy to 'be still and know that you are God.' Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Thoughts for today -
The mind

Posted by Delmar on July 31,

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)

THE CHURCH IS WHERE MOST CHRISTIAN GO TO HEAR THE WORD OF GOD BUT I KNOW ON A PERSONAL LEVEL I HEARD GOD'S WORD ALL MY LIFE AND TRIED SO HARD TO LIVE UP TO IT AND KEPT FALLING INTO THE SAME OLD TRAPS THE DEVIL WOULD THROW AT ME .

I ACTUALLY BELIEVE A LIE THINKING THAT THE DEVIL HAD WON IN MY LIFE AND I HAD NO WAY OUT
SO I DIG MYSELF DEEPER INTO MANY THINGS AS THE BIBLE WOULD CALL SIN ....BUT MY MIND WOULD ALWAYS BOTHER ME BECAUSE I KNEW GOD WAS NOT GOING TO LET ME GO ....MANY TIMES IN MY WALK OF DARKNESS I WOULD COME BACK TO GOD AND CRIED PLEASE TAKE THIS AWAY .....

I HAD SO MUCH PAIN IN MY LIFE , DEPRESSION AND REJECTION AND THE LIST GOES ON BUT I WILL SAY GOD HELD MY HAND UNTIL THE MOMENT CAME YEARS LATER THAT I COULD NOT TAKE IT ANY MORE
I STILL STUGGLE BUT NOW ITS FOR DIFFRENT REASONS ....RELATIONSHIPS HAD NOT ALWAYS BEEN EASY FOR ME AND I STILL HAVE PROBLEMS TO MAKE TRUE FRIENDS AT TIMES ....I HAVE VERY FEW FRIENDS THAT KNOW ME AND CALL ME AND WE TALK ABOUT EVERYTHING ....ON THE OTHER HANDS I HAVE FRIENDS I DO GO OUT TO LUNCH SOMETIMES .....RECOVERY IS PLACING THE TRUTH WITH THE LIE
ALL MY LIFE I BELIEVE LIES AND THE DEVIL IS THE FATHER OF LIES ......IN THE PAST I FOUND MANY IDOLS TO RUN TO BUT DID NOT SATISFIELD ME .....
True happiness can only be found on the inside of your being in your connection and personal relationship with the Lord. All of the material wealth and goods that are out there for the taking will not give you this kind of true inner peace, happiness, and fulfillment.

MY QUOTE FOR TODAY IS BY SAM STORMS
Nowhere in the Bible is the mind, per se, described as evil or unworthy of being the means by which God communicates with us. What the Bible does denounce is intellectual pride, but not the intellect itself. It is humility that we need, not ignorance. I stand opposed to arrogant and cynical intellectualism. But that is not the same thing as using the mind God has given us, with the help of the Holy Spirit and the instruction of Scripture, to evaluate and discern and critically assess what is happening in both the church and the world. Whereas some things that God says and does are transrational, insofar as they are mysterious and often go beyond our ability to fully comprehend, God never does things that are irrational in the sense that they might violate the fundamental laws of logic or the reasonable and rational truths of Holy Scripture.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father,
My desire is to have a deeper sense of Your peace in me today. Take away all fear, doubt, and concern from my heart and replace it with the peace that only You can give. Thank You that Your peace will guard my mind so that I will not give place to thoughts that are not beneficial to me. In Philippians 4:7, we are told The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Father, thank You that Your peace will guard my heart from unproductive emotions and feelings that only serve to shatter my life. Thank You that the depths of Your peace are greater than we can imagine and that through this peace, we are made whole. In Jesus precious name. Amen.

I DO NOT ALWAYS KNOW WHO I ENCOURAGED BUT GOD KNOWS AND ONE OF MY GIFTS IS ENCOURAGEMENT ...WE ALL LOOK AT EACH OTHER DIFFRENT
I HOPE I AM ABLE TO ENCOURAGED MY FRIENDS AND MY FAMILY AND THOSE WHO I DO NOT KNOW ...GOD BLESS

Moment In The Word

Encouragement

Greetings

TODAY'S VERSE "Jonathan went to find David and encouraged him to stay strong in his faith in God." I Samuel 23:16 (NLT)
TODAY'S THOUGHT Who do you encourage? What a friend Jonathon was. The scriptures record that David and Jonathan were like brothers and how time and time again Jonathan proved it. Jonathon helped David escape from his father, King Saul, at the risk of his own death. And now again, while David is being hunted by King Saul, Jonathan takes another risk and goes and finds David. Why? To encourage him. Both David and Jonathan knew that David was God's anointed and instead of complaining, lived by faith, waiting for God's plan to come into fruition. And with that waiting came Jonathan's love and support, encouraging David to stay strong in his faith in God. David, instead of living in a palace, was content to live in caves, hiding until God's timing was right. What David was in faith and trust in God, Jonathan was in love and encouragement. It took both to make David's journey possible. Today there is someone you know barely hanging on. Someone living in their
own emotional cave, running from the struggles of life. They need your encouragement and friendship. Might God help you be a friend like Jonathan.
TODAY'S PRAYER Father, help me be an encourager. Help me be there for those that need my help. Help me help others the way You have helped me. AMEN
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION -I encourage others the way God encourages me Think of a time when you were encouraged by your circumstances. Remember what it felt like to be in need. Feel the desperation and discouragement. But God showed up. You could sense the fingers of God in control of your circumstances and hope and joy began to flood your soul. Breathe and let your body remember the sensation of being encouraged. Now picture someone else in need. Feel God calling you to help. See yourself going to them and helping them return to peace and joy. Take what you felt when encouraged and sense them feeling the same. Feel the satisfaction knowing you helped someone else. Say out loud, "I encourage others the way God

Who would have thought? The treatment for addiction is to want something better than your addictions You do your addiction because you like it. Strength out of Weakness

"But he [God] said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." - 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV).

I read a few years ago the story of a 10-year-old boy who decided to study judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident.

The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn't understand why, after three months of training, the master had taught him only one move.

"Sensei," the boy finally said, "shouldn't I be learning more moves?"

"This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you'll ever need to know," the sensei replied. Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training.

Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament.
Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the match. Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals. This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced. For a while, the boy appeared to be overmatched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out. He was about to stop the match when the sensei intervened. "No," the sensei insisted, "let him continue."

Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the match and the tournament. He was the champion.

On the way home, the boy and the sensei reviewed every move in each and every match. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his mind: "Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only one move?"

"You won for two reasons," the sensei answered. "First, you've almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grab your left arm."

"The boy's biggest weakness had become his biggest strength."

Hmmm ... very interesting. When it comes to life, for some folk their biggest strength becomes their biggest weakness. For example, as Jesus said about the wealthy man, "Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." - Matthew 19:24 (NIV). The eye of the needle was referring to a door in the wall of the city (as it was commonly called) which was too small for a camel to go through, meaning that it was impossible for a person who trusts in his riches or his fame, personality, power or position to get into God's heaven.

On the other hand, when we acknowledge our weaknesses and know that we need to depend on God for guidance, wisdom, discernment, and deliverance from temptation this can become our greatest strength.

Prayer: "Our Loving Heavenly Father, please deliver me from the sin of pride and help me always remember to be dependent on you for guidance, wisdom, direction, power to overcome temptation, and for my eternal salvation. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Thursday and God Bless you.
