John 6:37** **It shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will
hear; for I am gracious. Exo. 22:27** **I will not cast them away, neither
will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with
them: for I am the LORD their God. Lev. 26:44** **I will remember my
covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee
an everlasting covenant. Ezek. 16:60** **Come now, and let us reason
together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as
white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isa.
1:18** **Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his
thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon
him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isa. 55:7** **Lord,
remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him,
Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. Luke

the bosom of the Father. John 1:18** **In this was manifested the love of
God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world,
that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but
that he loved us, and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins. And
we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love. I
John 4:9, 10, 16** **The glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that
they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they

*November 20*** *MORNING*

*When I sit in darkness the Lord shall be a light unto me. Micah 7:8*
* *

*When thou passest through the waters, I Will be with thee; and through the
rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire,
thou shalt not be burned neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am
the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour. Isa. 43:2, 3*
* *

*I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in
paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and
crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake
them. Isa. 42:16*
* *

*Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear
no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psa.
23:4*
* *

*What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his
word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto
me. Prov. 56:3, 4*
* *

*The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the
strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psa. 17:1*
** *EVENING*

*One God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. I
Tim. 2:5*
* **Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD. Deut. 6:4** **A mediator
is not a mediator of one, but God is one. Gal. 3:20** **We have sinned with
our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. Our fathers
understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of
thy mercies. .. . Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not
Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath,
lest he should destroy them. Psa. 106:6, 7, 23** **Wherefore, holy
brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High
Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus who was faithful to him that
appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. Heb. 3:1-3** **He
is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better
promises. I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and
their iniquities will I remember no more. Heb. 8:6, 12 ****

By their fruits ye shall know them. Matt. 7:20

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is
righteous, even as he is righteous. I John 3:7

Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can
the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can
no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Who is a wise man and endued
with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works
with meekness of wisdom. James 3:11-13

Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they
speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they
shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. I Pet. 2:12

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree
corrupt, and his fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by his fruit. Matt.
12:33

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good
things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil
things. Matt. 12:35

What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it?
Isa. 5:4
** EVENING I will make the place of my feet glorious. Isa. 60:13 Thus saith
the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Isa.
66:1 Will
God in very deed dwell with men on the earth! Behold, heaven and the heaven
of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have
built! II Chron. 6:18 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Yet once, it is a
little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and
the dry land; and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations
shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith
the LORD of hosts. Hag. 2:6, 7, 9 I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for
the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no
more sea. And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, Behold, the
tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall
be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. Rev.

*Daily light on the daily path*

Devotional compiled by Jonathan Bagster
*November 15*** *MORNING*

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son
Jesus Christ our Lord. I Cor. 1:9

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is
faithful that promised. Heb. 10:23

God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their
God, and they shall be my people. II Cor. 6:16

Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. I
John 1:3

Rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when
his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. I Pet.
4:13

That ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with
all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to
know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled
with all the fulness of God. Eph. 3:17-19

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him,
and he in God. I John 4:15

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. I John
3:24
*EVENING*

We are his workmanship. Eph. 2:10

They brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the
foundation of the house. I Kings 5:17

The house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it
was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool
of iron heard in the house, while it was in building. I Kings 6:7

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house. I Pet. 2:5

Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ
himself being the chief cornerstone; in whom all the building fitly framed
together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are
builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. Eph. 2:20-22

Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God. I Pet.
2:10

Ye are God's building. I Cor. 3:9

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are
passed away; behold, all things are become new. II Cor. 5:17

Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath
given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. II Cor. 5:5 ***

a place of refuge. Prov. 14:26*

of the son of man which shall be made as grass; and forgettest the LORD thy
maker? Isa. 51:12, 13*

*I am with thee to deliver thee. Jer. 1:8*

compass me about with songs of deliverance. Psa. 32:7** *
*EVENING*

*How wilt thou do in the swellings of Jordan? Jer. 12:5*

*For Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest. The priests
that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in
the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground,
until all the people were passed clean over Jordan. Josh. 3:15*

*We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the
suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of
God should taste death for every man. Heb. 2:9*

evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psa. 23:4

rivers, they shall not overflow thee. Isa. 43:2*

eyes. Psa. 19:7, 8 *
*EVENING*

*Through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Eph. 2:18*

*I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one. John 17:23

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that
he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world
cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know
him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:13, 14, 16, 17*

*MORNING*

*Godly sorrow worketh repentance not to be repented of. II Cor. 7:10*

*Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock
crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly. Matt.
26:75*

*If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9*

*The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. I John 1:7*

*Mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up;
they are more than the hairs of my head: therefore my heart faileth me. Be
pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. Psa. 40:12,
13*

*Turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God
continually*

*.Hos. 12:6*

*The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart,
O God, thou wilt not despise. Psa. 51:17*

*He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Psa. 147:3*

*He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the LORD require
of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy

*As chastened, and not killed; as sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor,
yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. II
Cor. 6:9, 10*

*We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but
not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life
also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For which cause we faint
not, but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day
by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us
a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the
things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. II Cor.
4:8-10, 16-18*

*Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in
health, even as thy soul prospereth. III John 2 ****

*Daily light on the daily path*

Devotional compiled by Jonathan Bagster

*November 8*

*MORNING*

Let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith
and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. I Thess. 5:8

Gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace
that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. I Pet.
1:13

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the
breastplate of righteousness; above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And
take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the
word of God. Eph. 6:14, 16, 17

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears
from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from
off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in
that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us:
this is the LORD; ... we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. Isa.
25:8, 9

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen. Heb. 11:1
*EVENING*

The children of Israel pitched before them like two little flocks of kids;
but the Syrians filled the country. I Kings 20:27

Thus saith the LORD, because the Syrians have said, the LORD is God of the
hills, but he is not God of the valleys; therefore will I deliver all this
great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the LORD. And
they pitched one over against the other seven days; and so it was, that in
the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew of
the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day. I Kings 20:28, 29

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is
he that is in you, than he that is in the world. I John 4:4

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not, dismayed; for I am thy God: I
will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with
the right hand of my righteousness. Isa. 41:10

They shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for
I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee, Jer. 1:19 ***

*Daily light on the daily path*

Devotional compiled by Jonathan Bagster

*November 4*

*MORNING*

Now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold
temptations. I Pet. 1:6

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try
you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch
as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be
revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. I Pet. 4:12, 13

The exhortation ... speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not
thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him.
Heb. 12:5

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous:
nevertheless, afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness
unto them which are exercised thereby. Heb. 12:11

We have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our
infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Heb. 4:15

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour
them that are tempted. Heb. 2:18

God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are
able. I Cor. 10:13
*EVENING*

The Prince of Peace. Isa. 9:6

He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.
The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by
righteousness. He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass; as showers
that water the earth. In his days shall the righteous flourish; and
abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth. Psa. 72:2-7

Glory to God ... on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:14

Through the tender mercy of our God; ... the dayspring from on high hath
visited us. To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of
death, to guide our feet into the way of peace; Luke 1:78, 79

peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all). Acts 10:36

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the
world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the
world. John 16:33

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth,
give I unto you. John 14:27

The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts
and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:7 ***

Devotional compiled by Jonathan Bagster

*October 29*

*MORNING*

*He is altogether lovely.* Song 5:16

My meditation of him shall be sweet. Psa. 104:34

My beloved is ... the chiefest among ten thousand. Song 5:10

A chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall
not be confounded. I Pet. 2:6

Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips.
Psa. 45:2

God ... hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every
name. Phil. 2:9

It pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell. Col. 1:19

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet
believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. I Pet. 1:8

I count all things but loss, for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ
Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count
them but dung, that I may win Christ, and be found in him, not having mine
own righteousness which is of the law, but that which is through the faith
of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. Phil. 3:8, 9

*EVENING*

David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. I Sam. 30:6

Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. John 6:68

I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that
which I have committed unto him against that day. II Tim. 1:12

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my
voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay. He
brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he
delighted in me. Psa. 18:6, 18, 19

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my
mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear
thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name
together. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my
fears. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that
trusteth in him. Psa. 34:1-4, 8 ***

*Daily light on the daily path*

Devotional compiled by Jonathan Bagster

*October 28*

*MORNING*

*He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor:
therefore his arm brought salvation unto him.* Isa. 59:16

Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire: mine ears hast thou opened:
burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. Then said I, Lo, I
come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy
will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. Psa. 40:6-8

I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me,
but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power
to take it again. John 10:17, 18

There is no God else beside me: a just God and a Saviour; there is none
beside me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I
am God, and there is none else. Isa. 45:21, 22

There is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be
saved. Acts 4:12

Ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet
for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. II
cor. 8:9

*EVENING*

The Enemy. Luke 10:19

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion,
walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. I Pet. 5:8

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the
wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you
the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about
with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet
shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the
shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of
the wicked. Eph. 6:11-16

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit
in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. Micah. 7:8 ***

*Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses.* Matt. 8:17

Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two
birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop: and the
priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel
over running water: as for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar
wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living
bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water: and he
shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times,
and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the
open field. Lev. 14:4-7

Behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and
besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. Luke
5:12

And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and
saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. And as soon as he had spoken,
immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. Mark 1:41,
42

*EVENING*

He whom thou blessest is blessed. Num. 22:6

meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and
thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the
merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for
they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called
the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for
righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye,
when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of
evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for
great is your reward in heaven. Matt. 5:4-12

Blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. Luke 11:28

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the
tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. Rev. 22:14

*MORNING*

*The Lord reigneth.* Psa. 99:1

Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which
have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it
cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they
not prevail; though they roar yet can they not pass over it? Jer. 5:22

Promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the
south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
Psa. 75:6, 7

He changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up
kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know
understanding. Dan. 2:21

Ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled.
Matt. 24:6

If God be for us, who can be against us? Rom. 8:31

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on
the ground without your Father. The very hairs of your head are all
numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Matt. 10:29-31

*EVENING*

Take heed to your spirit. Mal. 2:15

Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him,
because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not:
for he that is not against us is for us. Lord, wilt thou that we command
fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? But he
... rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
Luke 9:49, 50, 54, 55

Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp. And Joshua the son of Nun ...
answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them. And Moses said unto him,
Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD'S people were
prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them! Num. 11:27-29

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. Gal. 5:22, 23

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and
lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not
be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Gal.

*MORNING*

*Lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the world.* Matt. 28:20

If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall
ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where
two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of
them. Mark 18:19, 20

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and
he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will
manifest myself to him. John 14:21

Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the
world? ... If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love
him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:22, 23

Unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless
before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God
our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever.
Amen. Jude 24, 25

The end of all things is at hand. I Pet. 4:7

I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the
earth and the heaven fled away. Rev. 20:11

The heavens and the earth, which are now... are kept in store, reserved unto
fire against the day of judgment. II Pet. 3:7

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore
will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be
carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be
troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Psa. 46:1-3

Ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled.

The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater
than he that sent him. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
John 13:16, 17

There was ... a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the
greatest. And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship
over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called
benefactors. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let
him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For
whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he
that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. Luke 22:24-27

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to give his
life a ransom for many. Matt. 20:28

Jesus riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and
girded himself. After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash
the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was
girded. John 13:3-5 ***

Daily light on the daily path

Devotional compiled by Jonathan Bagster

October 20

*MORNING*

*I delight in the law of God after the inward man.* Rom. 7:22

O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Psa. 119:97

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy
and rejoicing of mine heart. Jer. 15:16

I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to
my taste. Song 2:3

I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. Job
23:12

I delight to do thy will, O my God: thy law is within my heart. Psa. 40:8

My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. John
4:34

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of
the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. More to be desired are they than
gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psa. 19:8, 10

Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man
beholding his natural face in a glass. James 1:22, 23

*EVENING*

The Lord thy God accept thee. II Sam. 24:23

Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God?
shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of
rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of
my body for the sin of my soul? He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;
and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6:6-8

We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy
rags. Isa. 64:6

There is none righteous, no, not one. For all have sinned, and come short of
the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption
that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation
through faith in his blood. To declare ... at this time his righteousness:
that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Rom. 3:10, 23-26

Accepted in the Beloved. Eph. 1:6

Ye are complete in him. Col. 2:10

Romans
8:23 (NIV). Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of
the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons,
the redemption of our bodies...... . Thoughts on This Verse... The Holy
Spirit, who lives in us, is our guarantee of a greater glory that is to
come (cf. 2 Cor. 1:22; 5:5). The Spirit is the firstfruits of that glory
that is to be revealed in us (cf. Rom. 8:18). Our current state is only
a foretaste of what lies ahead for us; we yearn to be clothed and to
reside in our heavenly dwelling and to be at home with God (2 Cor.
5:1-8).

The "Ten Commandments" - Fridays dose - October 21st 2011

Fridays dose - October 21st 2011

The "Ten Commandments"

"Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No' "- (Matthew 5:37, NIV).

I recently received an email in French requesting a copy of the "Ten

Commandments. " As I can't read French, I used the Google online

translator to read this person's request. When translating online,

sometimes the words can come out rather funny. For instance, when Iasked Google to translate, "The cat sat on the mat" into French it

read, "Le chat s'est repos sur la natte." But when I asked Google to

translate this back into English it read, "The cat rested on the

plait." And then when I checked the word "plait" in my computer

Thesaurus it said, "ponytail. So "The cat sat on the mat" ended up

as "The cat rested on the ponytail."

Jokes aside, it's understandable that this can happen when

translating online from one language to another, but the same thing

happens very easily when communicating in person in the same languageespecially between parents and children and husbands and wives.

Effective
communication should be one of many "commendments" because so many
misunderstandings and broken relationships are caused by
mis-communications and/or misunderstood communications.

One of the challenges in communication is that we see and hear

things, and will even read into things, on the basis of how we feel

about ourselves, and on the bases of unresolved issues from past

significant relationships.

If I am a very insecure, super-sensitive person, the slightest

negative comment can send me into an emotional tailspin. Or if I

didn't get along with my mother, and you say or do something that

reminds me of my mother, it's going to push my "mother button" and Iwill overreact way out of proportion to what you said or did. And youare going to be left wondering what on earth is happening to me. Thenwe get into the battle of: "You said" ... "did not." "Yes you

did"... "no I didn't" ... "did" ... "didn't...." And the vicious

cycle continues and escalates.

As healthy relationships are vital to healthy living, learning to

communicate effectively needs to be a top priority. There are many

helpful tips on how we can learn to do this besides learning to hear

what is not being said, but the bottom line is that we need to

resolve all past impaired significant relationships so our hot

buttons don't get pushed, and that we grow in maturity so we overcome our insecurities.

Prayer: "Loving Heavenly Father, please help me to see and resolve

any and all impaired relationships and grow in maturity so I learn to

love and accept myself in a healthy manner and not overreact to what others say and do. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer.Gratefully, In Jesus loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Friday and God Bless you all.

MORNING

The Lord shall be thy confidence and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Prov. 3:26

Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou
restrain. Psa. 76:10

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he
turneth it whithersoever he will. Prov. 21:1

When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace
with him. Prov. 16:7

I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul
waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more
than they that watch for the morning. Psa. 130:5, 6

I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psa.
34:4

The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and
he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
Deut. 33:27

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
Jer. 17:7

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against
us? Rom. 8:31

EVENING

Consolation in Christ, ... comfort of love, ... fellowship of the Spirit.
Phil. 2:1

Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh
forth like a flower, and is cut down; he fleeth also as a shadow, and
continueth not. Job 14:1, 2

My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my
portion for ever. John 14:16

The Father ... shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you
for ever: the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name. John 14:26

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our
tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble,
by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. II Cor. 1:3, 4

If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep
in Jesus will God bring with him. And so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words. I Thess. 4:14, 17, 18

October 18

MORNING

One of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there
out blood and water. John 19:34

Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you. Exo.
24:8

The life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the
altar to make an atonement for your souls. Lev. 17:11

It is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away
sins. Heb. 10:4

Jesus said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed
for many. Mark 14:24

By his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained
eternal redemption for us. Heb. 9:12

Peace through the blood of his cross. Col. 1:20

Ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and
gold.... but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish
and without spot.... manifest in these last times for you. I Pet. 1:18-20

Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: ... from
all your idols, will I cleanse you. Ezek. 36:25

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our
hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience. Heb. 10:22

EVENING

Amen. Matt. 6:13

Amen: the LORD God ... say so too. I Kings 1:36

He who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth
(Heb. The Amen); and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of
truth (The Amen). Isa. 65:16

When God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he
sware by himself. For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for
confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more
abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his
counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it
was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have
fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. Heb. 6:13, 16-18

These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness. Rev. 3:14

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory
of God by us. II Cor. 1:20

Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
And blessed be his glorious name for ever. Amen, and Amen. Psa. 72:18, 19

*He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty
away.* Luke 1:53

Thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing;
and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind,
and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou
mayest be rich. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous
therefore and repent. Rev. 3:17-19

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they
shall be filled. Matt. 5:6

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue
faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not
forsake them. Isa. 41:17

I am the LORD thy God.... open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. Psa.

that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which
is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Isa. 55:2

I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that
believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35

*EVENING*

My feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. Psa. 73:2

When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. Psa. 94:18

The Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he
may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not.
Luke 22:31, 32

A just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again. Prov. 24:16

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth
him with his hand. Psa. 37:24

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit
in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. Micah 7:8

He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil
touch thee. Job 5:19

If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the
righteous. I John 2:1

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God
by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Heb. 7:25 ***

MORNING

I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Heb. 13:6

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay,
in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom. 8:35, 37

Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that
they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which
after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear
him. Luke 12:4, 5

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is
the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and
persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my
sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven.
Matt. 5:10-12

None of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so
that I might finish my course with joy. Acts 20:24

I will speak of thy testimonies ... before kings, and will not be ashamed.
Psa. 119:46

EVENING

He set my feet upon a rock. Psa. 40:2

That Rock was Christ. I Cor. 10:4

Simon Peter ... said, Thou art the Christ the Son of the living God. Upon
this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail
against it. Matt. 16:16, 18

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under
heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12

Full assurance of faith. Faith without wavering. Heb. 10:22, 23

Faith, nothing wavering. . . . He that wavereth is like a wave of the sea
driven with the wind and tossed. James 1:6

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay,
in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from
the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom. 35, 37, 39 ***

MORNING

The meek will he teach his way. Psa. 25:9

Blessed are the meek. Matt. 5:5

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor
the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to
men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill. Ecc. 9:11

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. Prov. 16:9

Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. Behold,
as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes
of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD
our God. Psa. 123:1, 2

Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto
thee. O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this
great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our
eyes are upon thee. Psa. 143:8

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men
liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5

When he, the Spirit of truth, is come he will guide you into all truth. John
16:13

EVENING

O Lord God, ... with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed
for ever. II Sam. 7:29

Thou blessest, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever. I Chron. 17:27

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
Prov. 10:22

Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to
give than to receive. Acts 20:35

When thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
and thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt
be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. Luke 14:13, 14

Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world: for I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was
thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked,
and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye
came unto me. Matt. 25:34-36

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time
of trouble. Psa. 41:1

The LORD God is a sun and shield. Psa. 84:11

Daily light on the daily path

*Devotional compiled by Jonathan Bagster *

*October 5*

*MORNING*

*Call upon me in the day of trouble, I will deliver thee, and thou shalt
glorify me.* Psa. 50:15

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me?
hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my
countenance, and my God. Psa. 42:11

LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their
heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear. Psa. 10:17

For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto
all them that call upon thee. Psa. 86:5

Jacob said unto his household, . . . Let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and
I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my
distress, and was with me in the way which I went. Gen. 35:2, 3

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Psa. 103:2

I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as
long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat
hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I on the name of the
LORD. Psa. 116:1-4

*EVENING*

Yet a little while, (Gr. how little, how little,) and he that shall come
will come, and will not tarry. Heb. 10:37

Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that
readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it
shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will
surely come, it will not tarry. Hab. 2:2, 3

Beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as
a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack
concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to
us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to
repentance. II Pet. 3:8, 9

Thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and
plenteous in mercy and truth. Psa. 86:15

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down. For
since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the
ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared
for him that waiteth for him. Isa. 64:1, 4

Daily light on the daily path

*Devotional compiled by Jonathan Bagster *

October 3

MORNING

Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins In his own blood. Rev.
1:5

Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it. Love is
strong as death. Song 8:7, 6

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends. John 15:13

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being
dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were
healed. I Pet. 2:24

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of his grace. Eph. 1:7

Ye are washed.... ye are sanctified.. .. ye are justified in the name of the
Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. I Cor. 6:11

Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar
people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out
of darkness into his marvellous light. I Pet. 2:9

I beseech you . . . brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your
reasonable service. Rom. 12:1

EVENING

There are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. I Cor. 12:5

Over the king's treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the
storehouses ... Jehonathan: and over them that did the work of the field for
tillage of the ground was Ezri: and over the vineyards was Shimei. 'these
were the rulers of the substance which was king David's. I Chron. 27:25-27,
31

God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets,
thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of hearings, helps,
governments, diversities of tongues. All these worketh that one and the
selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. I Cor. 12:28,
11

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to
another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak,
let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as
of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified
through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. I
Pet. 4:10, 11

Welcome to the
Daily light on the daily path

Devotional compiled by Jonathan Bagster

*October 1*

*MORNING*

*The fruit of the Spirit is temperance.* Gal. 5:22

Every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they
do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so
run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: but I
keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means,
when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. I Cor.
9:25-27

Be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.
Eph. 5:18

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross,
and follow me. Matt. 16:24

Let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that
sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober. I Thess. 5:6

Denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously,
and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the
glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Titus
2:12, 13

*EVENING*

Grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. Eph. 4:15

First the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. Mark
4:28

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son
of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness
of Christ. Eph. 4:13

They measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among
themselves, are not wise. But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord
commendeth. II Cor. 10:12, 17, 18

The body is of Christ. Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary
humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he
hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, and not holding the
Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment
ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. Col.
2:17-19

Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. II
Pet. 3:18 ***
