“The danger with us is that we want to water down the things that Jesus says and make them mean something in accordance with common sense; if it
were only common sense, it was not worthwhile for Him to say it.†–
Oswald Chambers, from My Utmost for His Highest
Anyone see the 'imposter&# 39; at work in today's variations of Christianity?

"And now I beg you, lady (Cyria), not as if I were issuing a new charge
(injunction or command), but [simply recalling to your mind] the one we
have had from the beginning, that we love one another.

And what this love consists in is this: that we live and walk in
accordance with and guided by His commandments (His orders, ordinances,
precepts, teaching). This is the commandment, as you have heard from the
beginning, that you continue to walk in love [guided by it and
following it].

For many imposters (seducers, deceivers, and
false leaders) have gone out into the world, men who will not
acknowledge (confess, admit) the coming of Jesus Christ (the Messiah) in
bodily form. Such a one is the imposter (the seducer, the deceiver, the
false leader, the antagonist of Christ) and the antichrist.. .

Anyone who runs on ahead [of God] and does not abide in the doctrine of
Christ [who is not content with what He taught] does not have God; but
he who continues to live in the doctrine (teaching) of Christ [does have
God], he has both the Father and the Son.

If anyone comes to
you and does not bring this doctrine [is disloyal to what Jesus Christ
taught], do not receive him [do not accept him, do not welcome or admit
him] into [your] house or bid him Godspeed or give him any
encouragement.

For he who wishes him success [who encourages him, wishing him Godspeed] is a partaker in his evil doings." 2 John. AMPThe Acts 1711 Project - Searching Scripture to Know Truth, Jesus Christ

"The head may seek God, but it is the heart that finds Him." Jeremiah 29:13

{The Healing Heart} Observations
God's Word on...
Commands of Jesus Christ -- Matthew, Mark, Luke, John.
A healthy balanced relationship with God -- Psalm 119
Warnings to religious leaders who misuse funds -- Malachi 2-4
Fear -- Joshua 1, Isaiah 41
History of generations/ families who either heeded God or rebelled against Him -- 1, 2 Kings; 1, 2 Chronicles
Humbling reality of God -- Job 39-42
Wisdom -- Proverbs (chapter a day for each month)
Worship services -- Nehemiah 8-9
Prophets -- Jeremiah 14, 23, 28; Ezekiel 13, 14
Pharisees --Matthew 23, Luke 11
Traditions of man -- Matthew 15, Mark 7

Love the LORD your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength --
Deuteronomy 6, Matthew 22, Mark 12, Luke 10

Signs of the end times -- Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21

How to respond to earthly governments -- Romans 13, Titus 3, 1 Peter 2
Did you ever notice?

Jesus Christ's disciples were not educated, they were relational, hands-on, practical sort of people. He chose them specifically for that reason -- He didn't want to lose the reality of The Gospel (good news of restored relationship with God) in intellectualism. Jesus Christ knew that what mattered was people getting right with God, and building a healthy relationship with Him, not spending time analyzing books.

The consequences of intellectualism is head knowledge with cold unaffected hearts (see Ephesus).

The consequences of relationship is a changed, transformed heart, filled with compassion and love for God & others, resulting in lifestyle changes, kindness, generosity, gentleness, self control -- in action.

Paul was God's choice to take The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the world (as it existed at that time, Mediterranean area) because of the intellectualism of Greeks and Romans (see the book of Romans) yet Paul's continual reference to relationship with God cannot be overlooked.. .for it was all he talked about, because it changed and transformed him -- in heart.

What kind of faith do you have? Reading The Bible to get to know God is not intellectualism, but relationship. Studying books extensively, even to neglecting The Bible, is intellectualism.

God prefers relationship. Jesus Christ called it 'the better thing'.
