A Picture Painted on the Heart
To Reflect...
"But who do you say that I am." And Peter answered, "The Christ of God." (Luke 9:20).
Socrates taught for 40 years, Plato for 50, Aristoteles for 40, and Jesus for only 3 and a half years. The influence of Christ's ministry, however, infinitely transcends the impact left by years of the combined teachings of these famous philosophers
Jesus did not paint a picture, however, some of the greatest artists of the world, such as Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonrado da Vinci, were inspired by Him. Jesus did not write a poem, but Dante, Milton and many of the world's famous poets were in
spired by Him. Jesus did not compose music, but, Handel, Beethoven, Bach and Mendelssohn reached the height of musical perfection when they composed music in praise of Him. The whole sphere of human greatness is enriched by this humble Carpenter from
Nazareth.
Life would have no meaning if it weren't for the Lord Jesus. He is Life and in Him we have true life -- abundant, joyful, eternal. He transformed the world, transformed our whole way of thinking and acting. His teaching edifies us, His Word motivate
us, His care gives us peace, His power guarantees victories.
In His presence, frustration gives way to faith and hope; anguish steps aside so that peace can take its place; lamentation is silenced and songs of praise fill the environment with pure joy. He is always the main personage in every and any circumsance.
The best teaching we can have is that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour. The best poem is the one that fills our soul and tells us: "Lo I am with you always." The music that blesses our lives the most is that which was sung by the angels and shepherds:
"Glory to God in the highest... the Saviour is born." The most valuable painting in the world is not in a famous museum, but is pictured on our hearts -- Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords.
