American Victim Was a "Settler", Palestinian TV Claims

Palestinian TV channels lauded the vicious stabbing spree in Jaffa on Tuesday, which left one American citizen dead and ten others wounded, five critically.

The attacks came just hours after US Vice President Joe Biden landed in Israel as part of his Middle East tour, meeting with the leaders of several countries in the region. During the much-anticipated press conference between Biden and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, the two leaders strongly condemned the attack and criticized PA President Mahmoud Abbas for his silence.

Said Biden, “Let me say in no uncertain terms: The United States of America condemns these acts and condemns the failure to condemn these acts. This cannot become an accepted modus operandi.”

Netanyahu thanked Biden for his condemnation but continued his own criticism against Abbas by holding the PA president responsible for inciting further Palestinian terrorism in Israel by failing to denounce the attacks. “Unfortunately, President Abbas has not only refused to condemn these terrorist attacks, his Fatah party actually praised the murderer of this American citizen as a martyr and a Palestinian hero,” he said.

Indeed, in a visual statement of admiration towards the terrorist, the Fatah party posted on its official Facebook page an illustration of an arm holding a knife held over a drawing of Israel. Written in Arabic, the message on the arm reads “The Heroic Martyr” and in the outline of Israel is written the terrorist’s name: Bashar Masalha.

A disgruntled ISIS militant has stolen and leaked tens of thousands of documents, containing about 22,000 names, addresses, telephone numbers and family contacts of Islamic State jihadis, to Britain’s Sky News.

The turncoat, identified as Abu Hamed, is a former Free Syrian Army member who had joined ISIS but become disillusioned, said Sky News, leading him to leave the violent terror group – but not before stealing a memory stick from the head of ISIS’s internal security police. Hamed handed the drive over to a journalist in a secret location in Turkey.

The drive contained thousands of “registration forms” which the organization’s recruits filled out before they could be “accepted” into ISIS. Information on the forms, made up of 23 questions, included blood type, mother’s maiden name, and “level of Sharia understanding”, as well as addresses and phone numbers of family members.

Verifying that at least some of the documents were legitimate, the names of several known jihadis were found on the drive. Among those named were Reyaad Khan, a British national who joined ISIS in 2013, who appeared in an ISIS propaganda video before being killed, and Abdel Bary, a Londoner and former rapper, who also joined in 2013, along with several others.

Hamed believes that the information on the drive could bring ISIS down if it found its way into the right hands. It will almost certainly help security and intelligence officials stop terror attacks before they can occur, as it reveals the identities of a number of previously unknown militants located in the US, Canada, the UK, northern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Terror expert Chris Phillips, managing director of counter-terror consultant firm International Protect and Prepare Security Office, told AFP that the reveal “could be a massive development.”

“It shows how ISIS is vulnerable to its own people turning against them,” he explained, adding that a better understanding of how would-be ISIS recruits travel to join the terror group will help counter-terrorism forces stop them.

Hamed also gave over other insider information about ISIS, telling Sky News that the group had left its headquarter city of Raqqa and was moving into the desert. He also said that former soldiers from the Iraqi Baath party – that of Saddam Hussein – were taking over the ranks.

Olivier Guitta, managing director of GlobalStrat, an international security firm, told AFP that the leak shows there are “dissenting voices within the ranks”.

“Like in any large organization, there will be fights for power and one could see down the road a potential breakup of IS into various factions,” he said.

White House Offended as Netanyahu Turns Tables by Snubbing Obama

In what might appear to be the latest in a tit-for-tat war between two powerful world leaders, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has turned down a meeting with US President Barack Obama, The Times of Israel reported Tuesday. The move comes one year after Obama refused to meet with Netanyahu during the latter’s uncoordinated speech before Congress regarding the Iran nuclear deal, which took place ahead of Israeli elections.

What makes matters even more tense is that the White House claims it only heard of the cancellation via media reports. Israeli reports claiming the meeting was scuttled by the inability of the two sides to find a suitable time were also rejected by the White House as “false”.

Netanyahu was expected to attend the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference later this month, but rumors had been circling for over a week already that the Prime Minister would skip the event due to Obama’s travel schedule.

The AIPAC conference is set to take place March 20-22, but Obama has an historic trip to Cuba scheduled for March 21. Continuing from there to Argentina, the president will only return to the US March 25.

However, in a desire to accommodate the Israeli prime minister, the White House proposed a meeting on March 18, before Obama’s trip, as early as two weeks ago.

“We were looking forward to hosting the bilateral meeting, and we were surprised to first learn via media reports that the prime minister, rather than accept our invitation, opted to cancel his visit,” White House National Security Council spokesperson Ned Price said in an emailed statement.

“Reports that we were not able to accommodate the prime minister’s schedule are false,” he added.

A senior Israeli official shared the reasons Netanyahu’s trip was cancelled with The Times of Israel.

“At the moment, it looks like we’re not going to Washington,” the official told the paper. “The thinking is that we’re seeing (Vice President Joe) Biden this week and the assumption is that in the discussion with Biden all the issues will come up.” Biden arrived Tuesday for a brief visit to Israel.

Echoing the excuses offered last year by Obama for avoiding a meeting with Netanyahu ahead of Israeli elections, the official added, “Also, at AIPAC, many of the presidential candidates are giving speeches and might ask for meetings with the PM. We don’t want to get involved in the US election process.”

Netanyahu will instead address the conference participants via satellite.

Last year, Netanyahu accepted an invitation to address Congress regarding the Iran nuclear deal, then still under negotiation. The speech was not coordinated with the administration, a political gaffe which caused a backlash. Later, Obama announced he would not be meeting with Netanyahu during the trip, not wishing to influence the Israeli elections which were taking place shortly thereafter. It now seems the tables have turned, in keeping with the Biblical imperative, “an eye for an eye” (Exodus 21:24).

In Birthplace of Jesus, Evangelicals Gather to Reject Israel, Embrace Palestinian Cause

Evangelicals are the strongest supporters of Israel, so it is particularly disturbing when a group from within their midst aligns with the Palestinians – even going so far as to support acts of violence against Jews while accusing Israel of violent crimes. Yesterday, while the conference was at its peak, five terror attacks were perpetrated against Israelis.
This was precisely what happened this week at the fourth biennial Christ at the Checkpoint Conference in Bethlehem, in which over 300 attendees gathered from all over the world in an Evangelical-led hate-fest against Israel and the Jews.
The organization’s website states the purpose of the four-day gathering is to “challenge Evangelicals to take responsibility to help resolve the conflicts in Israel/Palestine by engaging with the teaching of Jesus on the Kingdom of God”. This claim is deceptive since there were no representatives of Israel to engage in dialogue. Israeli Messianic leaders were also notably absent. However, the conference was attended by Palestinian Authority (PA) leaders, who were free to make spurious charges against Israel unopposed.
The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA) reported some of the more ridiculous claims made at the conference. Hanna Amira, chairman of the Higher Presidential Committee for Christian Affairs for the PA, accused the IDF and settlers of killing Palestinians, “in particular, the children and the young and the women,” while at the same time the Palestinians are “giving a historic example of coexistence and the rejection of violence and hatred.”

Hebrew Hero: Stabbing Victim Pulls Knife Out of Own Neck, Stabs Attacker to Death

In an incredible tale of Jewish heroism and strength, a 40-year-old Israeli stabbing victim turned the tables on his Palestinian attacker on Tuesday, pulling the terrorist’s knife out of his own neck and using it to stab the assailant to death.
The attack, which took place in the city of Petah Tivkah on Tuesday afternoon, occurred when the Palestinian attacker followed his victim, Yonatan Azarihab, into a wine shop. Azarihab, who is an ultra-Orthodox father of five, was collecting money for charity at the time. The terrorist attacked Azarihab, stabbing him multiple times in the upper body in what the police called a “frenzied attack”.
Azarihab managed to pull the terrorist’s knife out of his neck and flee the store, at which point the shop’s proprietor tried to subdue the terrorist. Azarihab then returned to the store, took up the knife which the terrorist had used on him, and stabbed the attacker.  The terrorist died within minutes.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a much-anticipated press conference with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday afternoon, March 9, in which the two criticized Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas for his failure to denounce the wave of terror.

Following Netanyahu’s statement, Biden stated his disapproval of Abbas’ failure to speak out against the attacks:  “Let me say in no uncertain terms: The United States of America condemns these acts and condemns the failure to condemn these acts. This cannot become an accepted modus operandi,” he said.

Biden went further, drawing attention to the attackers’ deliberate targeting of civilians: “They’re targeting innocent civilians, mothers, pregnant women, teenagers, grandfathers, American citizens. There can be no justification for this hateful violence, and the United States stands firmly behind Israel when it defends itself as we are defending ourselves at this moment as well.”

Biden also said that the attack in Jaffa on Tuesday, March 8, during which Biden and his family were only minutes away, highlighted the fact that “it can happen anywhere, at any time.”

Netanyahu began his statement by welcoming Vice President Biden and his family to Israel and expressing his gratitude for their personal friendship during which, Netanyahu said, they had overcome many difficulties together.

Turning to the wave of terror, Netanyahu stressed the severity of the events that had occurred over the previous 24 hours in which one American soldier was killed.

“As you are aware, the past 24 hours, including this morning, were extremely hard for Israel. Twelve people were wounded in five terror attacks including one American, Taylor Force, a graduate of West Point and a soldier who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan,” he said.  “I wish to send my deepest condolences to his family and wish a speedy recovery.”

After thanking Biden for his unequivocal stance against the terror attacks, Netanyahu criticized President Mahmoud Abbas for Abbas’ failure to condemn the violent wave of terror over the last six months.

“Nothing can justify these attacks. Regrettably, President Abbas not only refuses to condemn these terror attacks, but the Fatah movement he leads praised the murder of the American citizen by calling his murderer a martyr and a Palestinian hero,” he said.

Netanyahu also said that he believed it was the responsibility of all civilized nations and the international community to stand together against terror and to condemn Abbas’ silence, adding that “Palestinian society is not calling for a Palestinian state to live in peace with Israel, but, rather, for it to replace Israel.”

Despite noting Palestinian incitement and the ongoing wars around the region, Netanyahu also said that the current climate offers opportunities for peace in the future. “The first opportunity is to deepen the ties between Israel and moderate Arab countries. This will help us lay the foundations for peace and stability.”

The prime minister ended his speech by praising the unique U.S.-Israel friendship as one anchored in shared values and one in which both countries strive to achieve a secure and peaceful future.

“Israel has many partners in this determined struggle. However, we don’t have a closer partner than the United States of America…The U.S. and Israel are strong when they work together, and so I expect to continue working with you and with President Obama to strengthen the wonderful and unbreakable alliance between our countries,” Netanyahu concluded.

Jaffa “Guitar Hero” Slams Instrument on Terrorist, Saves Life

Yishay Montgomery, a 26-year-old street performer, was playing for money on Jaffa’s beachfront promenade when he came face to face with a terrorist on a stabbing spree. Without thinking twice, the young musician grabbed the first thing he had, his own acoustic guitar, and engaged the stabber.
“I just grabbed the neck of my guitar and rammed it into the guy’s face. It disoriented him a little, and he started to run away. I felt I had to end this incident and started chasing him down, hitting him with my guitar and yelling ‘terrorist, terrorist’ until security forces showed up,” Montgomery told Tazpit Press Service (TPS).
The incident occurred on Tuesday night, March 8, when a 22-year-old Israeli Arab from Qalqilya went on a lethal stabbing spree that claimed the life of a 29-year-old American tourist and ended with 11 wounded.

Christian IDF Soldiers Get Special Nod in Historic First

For the first time, the International Fellowship and Christians and Jews, in partnership with the Israeli Christian Recruitment Forum (ICRF), will bestow academic scholarships on 40 Christian IDF soldiers, with the goal of enabling them to take advantage of Israel’s advanced higher learning institutions and ultimately helping them integrate into Israeli society.
Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, founder and president of the Fellowship, and Father Gabriel Naddaf, head of the ICRF, said that they hope that the scholarship program will ease the transition of younger members of the Christian community into mainstream Israeli society, help close socio-economic gaps, and give more Israeli Christians the opportunities that come with higher education.
Since Christians are not required to serve in Israel’s military, all of the Christian recruits are volunteers eager to do their part to defend their country. Eckstein and Naddaf believe they should be entitled to every benefit in return.
“We believe that every Israeli citizen deserves equal rights and opportunities in all areas of life, while on their part they provide an active share and contribute to Israeli society,” said Eckstein, the Jerusalem Post reported.
His organization and Naddaf’s work together in the Israeli Christian community to encourage its members to serve in the IDF, a project which has grown steadily in recent years. Eckstein said he was happy to see that “more and more young [Christians] are choosing to integrate into society and even serve in the IDF and national service”.

The last time an Iranian official used Hebrew to communicate with Jews was Rosh Hashanah 5776, when President Hassan Rouhani wished a happy new year for the Jewish community all over the world. “May our shared Abrahamic roots deepen respect & bring peace & mutual understanding,” Rouhani tweeted, ending his message with the Hebrew phrase “L’Shanah Tovah,” meaning “May it be a good year.”
This week, though, the Iranians used Hebrew in a radically different context: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday fired 2 Iranian-made “Qadr H” ballistic missiles from the Eastern Alborz Mountains, as part of ongoing IRGC drills in Central Iran and elsewhere around the country. According to Fars, “One missile had a message written on it that said in Hebrew: ‘Israel should be wiped off the Earth.’”
According to Israel Radio, the Hebrew message actually read: “Khayavim l’hashmid et Israel” – “Must destroy Israel,” not wiping “off the Earth.”

Are Anti-Israel Presbyterian, Methodist Churches Under the Curse of Genesis 12:3?

Despite God’s assurances to Abraham in Genesis that those who bless him and his descendants will be blessed and those who curse him will be cursed, several church denominations have put Him to the test by supporting modern Israel’s enemies and denouncing the Jewish State. It seems, however, that there is indeed a price to pay, as several such churches and denominations are reporting declining numbers.

Last month, the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) predicted it would lose over 400,000 members in the next five year, the Jerusalem Post reported. Citing Presbyterian Lay Committee publication The Layman, the Israeli paper noted that the meeting of  PCUSA’s Office of the General Assembly and Presbyterian Mission Agency Board Executive Committee arrived at the conclusion after examining recent trends.

Carmen Fowler LaBerge, president of the Presbyterian Lay Committee, pointed out that the sharp decline would impact the church’s activities, even after cutting current expenses.

“Even with a three percent reduction of expenses and a three percent raise in per capita [amount of money congregations pay per member to the presbytery, synod and General Assembly], year over year losses of more than 90,000 members per year is institutionally unsustainable,” she said. “To put it into perspective, that’s the equivalent of closing an average of 1,000 PCUSA churches a year.”
PCUSA is notable for its condemnation of Israel and support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. It has blamed Zionism exclusively for the unrest in the region, and in 2014 voted to erase references to Israel from its liturgy.

Motti Yogev, (Jewish Home) is optimistic that his proposed bill banning the use of loudspeakers in houses of worship will win coalition support and pass into law.

Meant to end the loud Muslim call to prayer blasted five times a day over loudspeakers from mosques across the country, the law allows exemptions to be issued in special cases.

The bill faces its first hurdle on Sunday when it will be presented to the Ministerial Committee for Legislation. Yogev claims the proposal already has the backing of both the Likud and Kulanu parties.

A big oil deposit has been found in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, with enough reserves to last Israel for decades, according to the country’s media.
The Israeli presence in the Golan Heights is in dispute. The region is internationally recognized Syrian territory that has been occupied by Israel since the 1967 Six-Day War between Israel and several Arab states. UN Resolution 242 (1967) demands the withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from the territories occupied in the conflict. Israel disagrees with the wording of the resolution, saying the territories are disputable.

Reportedly, the potential production may reach billions of barrels, while Israel consumes 270,000 barrels per day. Israel currently imports up to three quarters of its oil from the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in Iraq, the Financial Times reported in August.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were the clear victors on Super Tuesday, with each winning seven of the ten states voting to determine the 2016 election nominees. But as Trump makes enormous strides towards the Republican party nomination, many members of the GOP are drawing back from supporting him – especially Jewish ones.

For many Jewish Republicans, Trump’s strange stance on Israel – which he refused to state, unequivocally, that he supported, saying instead that he would “remain neutral” on the Israel-Palestine question – and his recent reluctance to condemn white supremacist leader David Duke raise grave concerns that a Trump presidency would not be good for the Jewish state – or American Jews.

Why Did Hamas Execute its Own Commander?

Last week, Newsweek reported that the Hamas military wing al-Qassam Brigades is “reeling from the recent execution of Mahmoud Ishtiwi at the hands of his fellow fighters.” According to Newsweek, some members of the force resigned in protest, arguing that Ishtiwi was killed not because of his moral failings, but because of “internal arguments.” Those internal arguments have given birth to al-Qassamiyoun al-Ahrar, the Free Qassam Members, which openly criticizes the old Qassam Brigades.

On Tuesday, the NY Times revealed that Ishtiwi, 34, “a commander from a storied family of Hamas loyalists who, during the 2014 war with Israel, was responsible for 1,000 fighters and a network of attack tunnels,” was executed last month by his former comrades “with three bullets to the chest” over stealing and homosexual liaisons.

In the search for signs of the onset of the Messianic era, many look to the Bible and Prophets. The rabbinic sages who wrote the Talmud, a collection of Jewish biblical commentaries, were also granted a modicum of prescience. One section of the Talmud describes, in detail, the characteristics of society preceding the Messiah. In many ways, it is a disturbingly accurate description of our culture today and its unique traits, never seen  before in history.

This description, found in the tractate of Sotah, folio 49b, lists nine traits of the days preceding the Messiah.

1) Insolence will increase and honor dwindle

The internet has drastically changed the dynamics of modern society, making fame a more a matter of shock value than merit. The web has given rise to a culture of shamelessness and permissiveness in which freedom of expression manifests in internet trolling and bizarre viral videos. The phenomenon even received the presidential seal of approval when President Barack Obama met with Glozell Green, a woman whose claim to fame was eating cereal from a bathtub.

2) The vine will bear its fruit but wine will be dear

Today’s global economy has led to a situation in which a fertile country could go into debt and be unable to feed its population. This is precisely what Venezuela is experiencing today. Hoarding food and prepping became illegal in 2013. Last year, the government instituted rationing of electricity and forced farmers and food manufacturers to sell 30-100 percent of their goods to the state at set prices. Today, there are long lines for basic commodities and serious concerns that Venezuela may be on the verge of a catastrophic economic collapse, leading to an economically-induced famine. Given the state of the global economy, this is dangerously close to becoming a common phenomenon.

3) The government will turn to heresy and there will be none to offer them reproof

Without touching on US President Barack Obama’s ambiguous religious life, he has often been criticized for political heresy in his harsh treatment of the Bible of the United States: the Constitution. Discussions about gun control make no reference to the second amendment, and his executive order granting amnesty to illegal immigrants is in litigation for its questionable legality. Obamacare has several points which are criticized for violating basic constitutional points. Yet Obama has placed himself above reproof by issuing executive orders with impunity.

At the same time, the ongoing Republican campaign for the presidential nomination has taken on a religious dimension, with nearly all of the candidates emphasizing a strong religious aspect to their platforms. It seems that many Americans have decided they would like to see less heresy and more religion in the White House.

3) The meeting place of scholars will be used for immorality

American universities were created to transform students into successful, educated contributors to society, yet morality on today’s campuses has taken a sharp and disturbing downturn. Studies have shown that as many as 40 percent of college students can be defined as alcoholics, and more than half of all university students will use illicit drugs. Even more disturbingly, sexual assault is rampant in today’s universities. Some studies estimate that 19-27 percent of college women and 6-8 percent of college men are sexually assaulted during their time in college.

4) The dwellers on the frontier will go about begging from place to place without anyone to take pity on them

Today’s refugee issue has become a modern epidemic. 14 million Syrians have fled their homes, and six million of these were forced to leave their country – four million in the last year alone. At least 340 children have drowned in the Mediterranean Sea since September and officials claim the actual figure may be much higher with many bodies lost at sea. Despite international efforts, the situation has grown beyond any ability to cope with it, and taken on social dimensions that have become the focus of debate.

5) Youths will put old men to shame, the old will stand up in the presence of the young

In today’s culture of youth, achievement at a young age is idolized and lauded, and older generations, despite having built the foundation of the modern world, are pushed aside as they age out of technological advancement and relevance. In 2014, Forbes wrote in its annual ‘Under 30 list’ highlighting the achievements of young entrepreneurs, “This is the time to be young and ambitious. Never before has youth been such an advantage.” It seems that lifetime achievement awards have gone out of fashion.

6) A son will revile his father, a daughter will rise up against her mother….and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household

Last month, a 20-year-old Syrian man personified this disturbing forecast when he  killed his mother in the city of Raqqa because she urged him to leave ISIS. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that there have been several cases of sons killing their father for similar reasons, but this was the first documented case of matricide.

7) The face of the generation will be like the face of a dog

Sometimes the simple reading is the most poignant. Hillary Clinton shocked many at a recent campaign speech in Reno when, while making a point, she began barking like a dog.

8) A son will not be ashamed before his father

The rabbinic commentary describes this as a condition in which the young take over the roles of authority traditionally held by society’s elders. This is certainly true in today’s marketplace in which uber-rich youngsters rule over men and women with decades of education and experience. Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, reset the biological business meter when he founded Microsoft at the age of 20, making Steve Jobs (born the same year as Gates) seem over the hill when he waited until the age of 21 to found Apple. At 23, an age when most people are coping with the very beginnings of their career, Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, was a self-made billionaire. David Karp, a high-school dropout, founded Tumblr when he was 20 and now, at the ripe old age of 26, has a personal worth of more than $200 million.

9) The wisdom of the learned will degenerate, fearers of sin will be despised, and the truth will be lacking

Nowhere is the fulfillment of this prediction more evident than in the blatantly unfair treatment of the State of Israel on today’s world stage. The dialogue surrounding the conflict in Israel is dominated by outright lies, including claims – now widely accepted – that deny facts previously undisputed. Despite the absolute absence of any historical Palestinian nation, opponents of Israel claim that the Palestinians have been a nation in the land of Israel for thousands of years, with historical and religious ties to the Temple Mount. This view was even propagated by one of the world’s premiere journalistic sources, the New York Times, which stated that proof of the Jewish Temples “proved elusive”.

The Israel debate is mired in absurdity. The world’s top thinkers, politicians and religious world leaders who should know better, blindly vilify the Jewish State and support its enemies. The attempts of Israeli security forces to protect Jews and citizens from Palestinian terrorists have been called “extrajudicial executions”. The United Nations has censured Israel, the only democratic nation in the Middle East, more times than any other country in the world. Pope Francis has crowned PA President Mahmoud Abbas an “Angel of Mercy”, despite Abbas’s blatant incitement of violence against Israelis.

One must look no further than the worldwide rejection and condemnation of the Jewish State, a beacon of democracy, faith, and light, to see the truth of this forecast.

Alberto Nisman was found dead in his apartment on the day he was set to reveal how top Argentinian political leaders, including the president, covered up an Iranian connection to a 1994 terrorist attack at a Jewish Community Center.
In a case of a government conspiracy that turned out to be true, Argentina’s attorney general for criminal appeals, Ricardo Sáenz, declared on Thursday that the death of Argentinean special prosecutor Alberto Nisman, who was Jewish, in January 2015 was not a suicide, as previously announced, but a homicide.

Sáenz said to the media that there was no gunpowder residue on Nisman’s hands and his body had been moved after death. He also stated that Nisman had received death threats and his body showed signs of having been beaten.

“The evidence shows that major changes were made in the crime scene. There is no doubt that it was not Alberto Nisman who fired the gun that killed him,” ” he said, adding, “The evidence up to this point supports the hypothesis that Alberto Nisman was the victim of the crime of homicide.”

The ruling presented before the Appeals Court came as a result of a case brought by Nisman’s daughters, mother and sister, who launched a private investigation into his death.

Nisman’s body was found January 18, 2015 with a gunshot wound to the head hours before he was to give testimony to Argentina’s congress that was expected to implicate Argentina’s President Cristina Fernandez de Kircher in a plot connected to a terror attack. Nisman had drafted warrants for the arrest of President Fernandez and Hector Timerman, Argentina’s Foreign Minister, before his death, but the document was found in the garbage in his apartment.

A .22 caliber handgun and a bullet casing were next to his body, which lay in the bathroom, blocking the door. The two doors to his apartment were locked, but a locksmith called to the scene said the doors where not well locked. DNA from another person was found on a cup in the sink. Viviana Fein, lead investigator in the case, said that traces of DNA found on the pistol, its ammunition, and other items from the scene “undoubtedly” matched Nisman, indicating suicide as cause of death.

In June, a video was released of the crime scene investigation showing police allegedly tampering with evidence by neglecting certain precautionary measures.

In January, police discovered an additional entrance to Nisman’s apartment, a hallway that connected Nisman’s apartment to another unit owned by a foreign resident. Police found a previously unknown fingerprint and footprint there.

Nisman was the chief investigator of the 1994 truck bombing of the Asociacon Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA), the Jewish center in Buenos Aires, which killed 85 people and wounded 300. It was the worst terror attack in Argentina’s history. In October 2006, he formally accused the government of Iran of directing the attack and ordering Hezbollah to carry it out.

After Nisman’s death, the Argentinian court released his report, which implicated government officials, judges, intelligence agents and intelligence officers who were allegedly involved in an attempt to cover up Iran’s involvement in the attack so Argentina could import oil from Iran and export grains to them.

President Fernandez claimed that Nisman had been tricked by a former Argentine spy chief into fabricating baseless allegations in order to destabilize her government and defame her. She theorized that the ex-intelligence officer then needed to kill him in order to maintain the subterfuge.

Nisman’s accusations against President Fernandez were dismissed by an Argentinina court and it was ruled that there was not enough evidence to continue the investigation.

Israel to Implement Economic Aid to PA as Solution to Violence

Israel’s Finance Minister, Moshe Kahlon, will implement economic measures helping the Palestinian Authority in an attempt to improve the security situation in Israel.

Kahlon met last week with the Palestinian Finance and Planning Minister, Shukry Bishara, who informed him the PA has a deficit of NIS 1.5 billion and is on the verge of economic collapse. Israel will be releasing to them NIS 500 million in tax revenues that have been withheld until now.

Kahlon told Bishara that Israel expects the Palestinians to stop the incitement on PA media and for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to condemn the terror attacks. This was explicitly expressed as an expectation and not an ultimatum.

As part of the plan, Israel will issue thousands of additional work permits for Palestinians to work in Israel, as well as reduce commissions Israel charges from the Palestinians.
There is also an intention to create new study and internship opportunities for Palestinian high-tech entrepreneurs and engineers. Palestinian construction companies and contractors will be allowed to operate in Israel. Presently, Palestinians are issued permits to enter Israel as day-laborers employed by Israeli companies only. Palestinian doctors will also be invited to train in Israeli hospitals.

Kahlon decided on this approach after consulting with Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon. This plan comes from the belief that improving the economic condition of the Palestinians and creating an atmosphere of hope will reduce the current violence. It is also believed that these measures will help Israel find favor with Western countries, and especially the United States.

If the prime minister approves the measure, the plan will be presented to US President Barack Obama and US Secretary of State John Kerry.

“Peace did not break out,” Kahlon said on Thursday. “It’s just one drop in the ocean – but it’s an important drop.”

Deals like have always been a part of diplomacy. In Genesis, chapter 14, Abraham saved his nephew, Lot, thereby releasing the vanquished King of Sodom and returning him to his throne. The King of Sodom, an evil man, offered to give Abraham all of the material wealth that had been released. Abraham’s response to the evil leader was, “I will not take a thread or a sandal thong or anything that is yours, for fear you would say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’ Abraham chose to distance himself from evil entirely, even in economic ways which seemed harmless.

Perhaps modern leaders should take note  of this Biblical wisdom and not engage in deals with disreputable men.

In the search for signs of the onset of the Messianic era, many look to the Bible and Prophets. The rabbinic sages who wrote the Talmud, a collection of Jewish biblical commentaries, were also granted a modicum of prescience. One section of the Talmud describes, in detail, the characteristics of society preceding the Messiah. In many ways, it is a disturbingly accurate description of our culture today and its unique traits, never seen  before in history.

This description, found in the tractate of Sotah, folio 49b, lists nine traits of the days preceding the Messiah.

1) Insolence will increase and honor dwindle

The internet has drastically changed the dynamics of modern society, making fame a more a matter of shock value than merit. The web has given rise to a culture of shamelessness and permissiveness in which freedom of expression manifests in internet trolling and bizarre viral videos. The phenomenon even received the presidential seal of approval when President Barack Obama met with Glozell Green, a woman whose claim to fame was eating cereal from a bathtub.

2) The vine will bear its fruit but wine will be dear

Today’s global economy has led to a situation in which a fertile country could go into debt and be unable to feed its population. This is precisely what Venezuela is experiencing today. Hoarding food and prepping became illegal in 2013. Last year, the government instituted rationing of electricity and forced farmers and food manufacturers to sell 30-100 percent of their goods to the state at set prices. Today, there are long lines for basic commodities and serious concerns that Venezuela may be on the verge of a catastrophic economic collapse, leading to an economically-induced famine. Given the state of the global economy, this is dangerously close to becoming a common phenomenon.

3) The government will turn to heresy and there will be none to offer them reproof

Without touching on US President Barack Obama’s ambiguous religious life, he has often been criticized for political heresy in his harsh treatment of the Bible of the United States: the Constitution. Discussions about gun control make no reference to the second amendment, and his executive order granting amnesty to illegal immigrants is in litigation for its questionable legality. Obamacare has several points which are criticized for violating basic constitutional points. Yet Obama has placed himself above reproof by issuing executive orders with impunity.

At the same time, the ongoing Republican campaign for the presidential nomination has taken on a religious dimension, with nearly all of the candidates emphasizing a strong religious aspect to their platforms. It seems that many Americans have decided they would like to see less heresy and more religion in the White House.

3) The meeting place of scholars will be used for immorality

American universities were created to transform students into successful, educated contributors to society, yet morality on today’s campuses has taken a sharp and disturbing downturn. Studies have shown that as many as 40 percent of college students can be defined as alcoholics, and more than half of all university students will use illicit drugs. Even more disturbingly, sexual assault is rampant in today’s universities. Some studies estimate that 19-27 percent of college women and 6-8 percent of college men are sexually assaulted during their time in college.

4) The dwellers on the frontier will go about begging from place to place without anyone to take pity on them

Today’s refugee issue has become a modern epidemic. 14 million Syrians have fled their homes, and six million of these were forced to leave their country – four million in the last year alone. At least 340 children have drowned in the Mediterranean Sea since September and officials claim the actual figure may be much higher with many bodies lost at sea. Despite international efforts, the situation has grown beyond any ability to cope with it, and taken on social dimensions that have become the focus of debate.

5) Youths will put old men to shame, the old will stand up in the presence of the young

In today’s culture of youth, achievement at a young age is idolized and lauded, and older generations, despite having built the foundation of the modern world, are pushed aside as they age out of technological advancement and relevance. In 2014, Forbes wrote in its annual ‘Under 30 list’ highlighting the achievements of young entrepreneurs, “This is the time to be young and ambitious. Never before has youth been such an advantage.” It seems that lifetime achievement awards have gone out of fashion.

6) A son will revile his father, a daughter will rise up against her mother….and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household

Last month, a 20-year-old Syrian man personified this disturbing forecast when he  killed his mother in the city of Raqqa because she urged him to leave ISIS. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that there have been several cases of sons killing their father for similar reasons, but this was the first documented case of matricide.

7) The face of the generation will be like the face of a dog

Sometimes the simple reading is the most poignant. Hillary Clinton shocked many at a recent campaign speech in Reno when, while making a point, she began barking like a dog.

8) A son will not be ashamed before his father

The rabbinic commentary describes this as a condition in which the young take over the roles of authority traditionally held by society’s elders. This is certainly true in today’s marketplace in which uber-rich youngsters rule over men and women with decades of education and experience. Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, reset the biological business meter when he founded Microsoft at the age of 20, making Steve Jobs (born the same year as Gates) seem over the hill when he waited until the age of 21 to found Apple. At 23, an age when most people are coping with the very beginnings of their career, Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, was a self-made billionaire. David Karp, a high-school dropout, founded Tumblr when he was 20 and now, at the ripe old age of 26, has a personal worth of more than $200 million.

9) The wisdom of the learned will degenerate, fearers of sin will be despised, and the truth will be lacking

Nowhere is the fulfillment of this prediction more evident than in the blatantly unfair treatment of the State of Israel on today’s world stage. The dialogue surrounding the conflict in Israel is dominated by outright lies, including claims – now widely accepted – that deny facts previously undisputed. Despite the absolute absence of any historical Palestinian nation, opponents of Israel claim that the Palestinians have been a nation in the land of Israel for thousands of years, with historical and religious ties to the Temple Mount. This view was even propagated by one of the world’s premiere journalistic sources, the New York Times, which stated that proof of the Jewish Temples “proved elusive”.

The Israel debate is mired in absurdity. The world’s top thinkers, politicians and religious world leaders who should know better, blindly vilify the Jewish State and support its enemies. The attempts of Israeli security forces to protect Jews and citizens from Palestinian terrorists have been called “extrajudicial executions”. The United Nations has censured Israel, the only democratic nation in the Middle East, more times than any other country in the world. Pope Francis has crowned PA President Mahmoud Abbas an “Angel of Mercy”, despite Abbas’s blatant incitement of violence against Israelis.

Israel Busts Plot to Smuggle Spy Drones Disguised as Toys into Gaza

Israeli security forces at the Kerem Shalom border crossing between Israel and southern Gaza recently thwarted a plot to smuggle spy drones, equipped with high-quality cameras, into the Gaza Strip, the Defense Ministry announced on Sunday.
Security guards had stopped an Israeli truck at the border to search its contents and discovered that along with its shipment of toys, the truck was carrying several drones of different types and sizes, all equipped with cameras.
The Defense Ministry said that they suspected terrorist elements in Gaza had been planning to use the drones to gather intelligence on Israeli military positions and movements.

Palestinian Leaders: Who Are They Fooling?

It is a puzzle: are the leaders of the Palestinian Authority (PA) playing dumb, or do they believe their own ridiculous rhetoric?
For Abbas and the Palestinian leadership, the death of more than 170 Palestinians and 26 Israelis in the past five months occurred in the context of a “popular and peaceful uprising.” One can only imagine what the uprising would have looked like had it not been “peaceful.”
Abbas assured his people that those who die defending their holy sites would go straight to heaven. “Every drop of blood that is spilled in Jerusalem is pure blood,” he stressed.
According to the Palestinian Authority, these youths are acting out of despair — over settlements, checkpoints and lack of progress in the peace process. The attackers are in fact targeting Jews because they have been incited and brainwashed by the same leaders who are now denouncing Israel for protecting itself.
Not a single senior Palestinian official has condemned the targeting of innocent civilians in this “peaceful” uprising. They are too busy glorifying the assailants and naming streets after them.
The blood of the Palestinians who are being shot and killed while attacking Jews is on the hands of Abbas and his senior officials.
It is a puzzle: are the leaders of the Palestinian Authority (PA) playing dumb, or do they believe their own ridiculous rhetoric?

The language unites two contentious concepts, Jewish and democratic.
Now in its seventh decade, and stronger politically, economically, and militarily than the founders might have dreamed, the country’s residents are still arguing about those terms.

Iran’s Revealing Defiance of the U.S. and U.N.

Having already received its big payday from the “nuclear deal” that was never signed, Iran continues to spit in the face of the U.N. and the Obama administration, the latter of which has so valiantly attempted to defend Iran’s honor and justify this fiasco, even claiming it as a great foreign policy achievement. The latest act of defiance by Iran is an $8 billion dollar shopping spree, courtesy of its recently unfrozen assets, which were released because they supposedly convinced the IAEA that they have no plans to develop nuclear weapons.
Several sources are reporting the planned purchase. NBC News is reporting, “Moscow plans to sell Iran state-of-the-art warplanes, tanks and missile systems, Russian state media said Wednesday—a haul that could reportedly total up to $8 billion.”
The Washington Free Beacon is also reporting the sale, writing that Michael Rubin, a former Pentagon adviser and terrorism analyst, said that “the Obama administration set the stage for these arms deals by providing Iran with sanctions relief too early under the nuclear accord.” He added that “Secretary of State John Kerry frontloaded Iran’s payday for all the wrong reasons. If the [nuclear deal] was meant to last 10 or 15 years, it would make sense to release the cash over that time frame.”
“But, because Kerry didn’t want any successor holding Iran’s feet to the fire on compliance with the deal, he gave Iran its payday up front,” Rubin explained. “It was wholly predictable—and indeed, it was predicated early and often—that Iran would invest that money disproportionately in its military and not actually help its own people.”
As Fox News reported, this purchase is in violation of a U.N. Security Council resolution passed on July 20th of last year, just days after the unsigned agreement between Iran and the P5+1 was publicly announced. “The ban explicitly forbids ‘battle tanks, armored combat vehicles, large-caliber artillery systems, combat aircraft, attack helicopters, [and] warships…’ from being purchased by Iran without prior approval from the U.N.

Hamas Assassination Attempt on Netanyahu Averted

A Hamas terror cell operating out of Jerusalem had been planning a mass casualty attack with the added goal of assassinating Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Hebrew-language news site Walla! reported Sunday. The cell consisted of six members, with direct support from operatives in Gaza. IDF, US, European Command Undertake Joint Military Drills

The IDF and the United States European Command (US EUCOM) began their eighth ballistic missile defense exercise today.
The joint exercise, known as Juniper Cobra, has taken place every two years since 2001. Its primary purpose is to enhance interoperability between the two militaries and improve joint defensive capabilities. The drills are not undertaken in preparation for any specific or potential scenario.
Over 1,700 U.S. service members, civilians and contractors will also participate in an exercise aimed at addressing potential computer-related challenges that Israel could face in the future. The date for the planned exercise has not yet been announced.

Syrian Refugee: "Jews are Most Humane and Generous People of This Era"

Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home Party) announced next year’s educational theme Monday, declaring the 2016-2017 school year “The Year of Jerusalem Unity.” Marking the fiftieth anniversary of the city’s reunification in 1967, schools across the country would celebrate its capital, chosen by King David and sanctified by God Himself.
Each year, the Ministry of Education sets a curricular theme for the country. Past themes have included “The Other is Me” and “Healthy Lifestyle”. In the coming school year, Bennett intends for schools to focus on the people’s connection to their eternal capital.
“Anyone who tries to uproot us from this city only pushes us to promote this program. Our history began in Jerusalem, and it fuels our strength during difficult times,” Bennett was quoted by Israel National News as saying.

While most of Israel’s Arab neighbors routinely vilify the Jewish State, one Syrian refugee has set out to express his gratitude to the one nation he least expected to offer a helping hand. 39-year-old Aboud Dandachi has set up a website to share stories of Israelis and Jews fulfilling the Jewish precept of loving the stranger by reaching out to Syrian refugees like himself.
Dandachi has now relocated to Istanbul, Turkey. According to the Jerusalem Post, Dandachi, a Sunni Muslim, was initially neutral when the nearly-five-year-old civil conflict broke out in his home country.
In March of 2011, “I didn’t support anyone because my life was good,” the high-tech professional told the paper. “I did not need the government and I only wanted them to leave me alone.” That began to change when the government massacred 100 protesters overnight.

ISIS released a documentary on Friday which follows a father and his 11-year-old son through the stages of planning and executing a suicide bombing in Syria.
The 20-minute video, which is completely in Arabic, opens with a short montage of photos of Abu Imar al-Omari and his father as well as videos from when Imar al-Omari was a baby. Scenes of ISIS “soldiers” as they gear up and train for their upcoming operations are thrown in interchangeably, implying that Amara was raised to be one of these soldiers.
The viewer is then shown present-day Imar al-Omari learning to drive with his father in the passenger seat. The next scene is of the pair presumably discussing the importance of his mission and how he will be rewarded for his actions. Seated among his children, the proud man beams as he describes the honor in teaching his son how to carry out this attack.
