A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The LORD GOD is totally committed to being GOD. Those who know this rejoice through faith, for the ALL-SUFFICIENT ONE gives us what we don’t deserve — Grace! Knowing this is imperative.

HARDENED HEARTS
"It was the LORD’S doing to stiffen their hearts to give battle to Israel, in order that they might be proscribed without quarter and wiped out, as the LORD had commanded Moses." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 11. 20 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

The righteous severity of the Almighty Awesome One is shown in HIS command to utterly destroy the Canaanites. "When the LORD your GOD brings you to the land that you are about to enter and possess, and HE dislodges many nations before you — the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, seven nations much larger than you — and the LORD your GOD delivers them to you and you defeat them, you must doom them to destructions: grant them no terms and give them no quarters." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 7. 1 - 2 Tanakh, Torah] It was irreproachable GOD ALMIGHTY HIMSELF WHO hardened the hearts of the Canaanites so that Joshua could destroy them.

The BLESSED MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE is not only loving, but also holy and righteous. "The LORD seeks out the righteous man, but loathes the wicked one who loves injustice." [Psalms (Tehillym) 11. 5 Tanakh, Kethuvim] And, GOD does "not change." [Malachi/Malakhi 3. 6] In the NEW COVENANT, ALMIGHTY GOD is also called a "CONSUMING FIRE" [Hebrews 12. 29], and we are admonished that "the wages of sin is death." [Romans 6. 23] "The LORD JESUS is revealed from heaven with HIS mighty angels, in FLAMING FIRE taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the GOSPEL of our LORD JESUS CHRIST."
[2 Thessalonians 1. 7 - 8]

As for those seven nations (Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites & Jebusites) that were to be fully destroyed, the MIGHTY ONE OF ISRAEL had given them 400 years to repent. [Genesis/Bereshith 15. 13 - 16] But with each generation, they drew further and further away from their LOVING MASTER. They were practicing every form of depravity and iniquity known to man. Therefore, GOD in HIS great mercy to future generations, decreed their destruction.

Like Pharaoh at the time of the Exodus, the peoples had already hardened their own hearts toward GOD, so the OMNIPOTENT ONE now hardened their hearts against Israel . Thinking they could destroy GOD’S people, they only hastened their well-deserved end. The HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL is the RIGHTEOUS JUDGE, thus it is our responsibility to choose to serve HIM in reverence and godly fear. Certainly, we will each give account for our choices.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
It is pointless to argue with those who happily pervert reality in the service of their profoundly held prejudices. What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy. But, with the hand of the MASTER DESIGNER in our life, great and marvelous things happen.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

MIGHT SAY. . .
Most regrettable, we live in a world where anything goes — but NOTHING satisfies. How very dark it is without GOD’S amazing light in one’s heart!

LABOR – GOD’S GIFT
"There is nothing worthwhile for a man but to eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor. And even that, I noted, comes from the hand of GOD...it is a gift of GOD." [Ecclesiastes (Kohelet) 2. 24 w/ 3. 13 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

There are many people today who feel that having to work for a living is an imposition, and take advantage of others by living off society. Since they were brought into this world through no choice of their own, they surmise that the world owes them a living…or so they think. However, work is not a punishment for sin, it is a blessing from the ALL-KNOWING CREATOR.

Although GOD did "curse" the ground because of sin, it was for man’s own good and in his best interest. ELOHIYM told Adam, "Cursed is the ground for your sake." [Genesis /Bereshith 3. 17] It would require "the sweat of your face" [Genesis/Bereshith 3. 19] before man could eat his bread; and even then it would be "in toil (sorrow) you shall eat of it all the days of your life." [Genesis/Bereshith 3. 17]

Work itself, however, is not a punishment since even before Adam sinned, the LOVING CREATOR had given him the responsibility in the Garden to Eden "to tend and keep it." [Genesis/Bereshith 2. 15] Furthermore, we will be working in the New Earth in the coming ages as we are told that "HIS servants shall serve HIM" [Revelation 22. 3], however, there will not be any remnant of sin there at all.

Work, therefore, is a blessing when one sees it as a "gift of GOD." If we see it only as grinding toil and hardship, then it can indeed be "in sorrow." Therefore, the LORD YESHUA bids us, "Come to ME, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." [Matthew 11. 28]

"If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat." [2 Thessalonians 3. 10] Moreover, if working for a living encourages each of us to come to MESSIAH YESHUA for salvation and peace of soul, then it truly is "for our sake" that GOD’S curse was pronounced on the ground. For labor to be a source of pleasure, instead of sorrow, the Apostle Paul states well, "Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the LORD and not to men, knowing that from the LORD you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the LORD CHRIST." [Colossians 3. 23 – 24]
May LORD your GOD bless you in all the work of your hand which you do. Be wise, serve the LORD and fear HIM.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Acceptance of GOD’S HOLY WORD requires serious consideration of BIBLICAL perspectives, both ancient and present — it validates the historical message of the WRITTEN WORD OF LIFE that was created to carry the MESSAGE. The validity of the MESSAGE is paramount and we must individually listen carefully and take to heart its teaching and call to fully embrace the only SAVIOR REDEEMER. Praised be the LORD of life, the RIGHTEOUS JUDGE for evermore.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
In Israel, the inevitable rarely happens; the impossible often.

SIMCHAT TORAH
"O how I love YOUR TORAH! It is my meditation studied all day long. YOUR commandments make me wiser than my enemies; they always stand by me." [Psalms (Tehillym) 119. 97 - 98 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

"SIMCHAT TORAH" means "REJOICING (Joy) OF THE LAW." Celebrated on the 23rd of Tishri (23 Tishri 5777, October 25 this year), the twenty-third day of the seventh month. SIMCHAT TORAH is the most joyous day on the Jewish calendar. It is the day when the reading of the TORAH is concluded in the synagogue every year and immediately afterward resumed. The custom of beginning to read Genesis/Bereshith at the same Synagogue service as Deuteronomy/Devarim is concluded; this is observed so as not to bring the Law to an end at any time — the cycle continues!

On the "DAY OF REJOICING over the LAW" special inducements are held out to the younger members of the congregation to participate actively in the public service. All assembled in the synagogue are called upon to pronounce the blessing over the reading of the Law, and even boys participate. In the house of worship the scrolls of the law, dressed in beautiful velvet mantles of red, scarlet, blue and white, and ornate with golden embroidery and inscriptions are taken out from the ARK OF THE LAW, and placed lovingly in the arms of the men and boys. Little children holding flags and burning candles praising and exalting in celebration of the WRITTEN HOLY WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD follow in a procession up and down the aisles.

Children should be reared and taught in the Laws of the ALMIGHTY, which Jewish people feel is their religious commandment. It is written in the JEWISH WRITINGS: "At five years, bound to the COMMANDMENTS; at fifteen years, the study of the TALMUD." Jewish children are expected to receive at least 300 hours of religious training throughout the year. So anxious have Orthodox Jews been for their sons to be diligent pupils that they are careful to make the boy's first day at Hebrew school (Chadar) an occasion he will remember all his life. This custom also shows how deeply attached the Jewish people are to the TORAH (The FIVE BOOKS OF MOSES: Genesis/Bereshith, Exodus/Shemot, Leviticus/Vayikra, Numbers/B'Midvar, Deuteronomy/Devarim) and how great has been their love of learning.

As the solemn procession circles the Synagogue auditorium, those assembled there, kiss the garment of the SCROLLS, or touch the SCROLLS with their fingers and then kiss their fingers. This act shows that the study of GOD'S LAW is sweet. Their forefathers lived and died to preserve these for the generations yet to come. Seven times they march around the front of the Synagogue, singing joyful hymns in honour of the TORAH, "Be glad and rejoice with the joy of the Law."

How sad is all this rejoicing, when we think of Israel's spiritual darkness! It is true that "to them were committed the oracles of GOD." [Romans 3. 2] However, "eyes have they but they see not" [Jeremiah/Yirmeyah 5. 2] and "blindness in part is happened unto Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in." [Romans 11. 25]

When Israel’s eyes are opened to behold their MESSIAH. . . then it will be Simchat TORAH in reality!
"All you peoples, clap your hands, raise a joyous shout for GOD. For the LORD MOST HIGH is awesome, the GREAT KING over all the earth; HE subjects peoples to us, sets nations at our feet. HE chose our heritage for us, the excellence of Jacob whom HE loved. Selah
"GOD ascends midst acclamation; the LORD, to the blasts of the trumpet. Sing, O sing praises to GOD; Sing, O sing to our KING; for GOD is KING over all the earth; sing a Maskil (hymn of praise). GOD reigns over the nations; GOD is seated on HIS Holy Throne. The great of the peoples are gathered together, the assemblage of Abraham's GOD; for the shields of the earth belong to GOD; HE is greatly exalted." [Psalms (Tehillym) 47. 1 – 9 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Why do we celebrate the TORAH on this day? There is something very intimate about Simchat Torah. After celebrating so many other festive occasions, GOD asks for one last day — just us alone. No special activities — no shofar, no judgment, no sukkah, no lulav. Let’s put it all aside and spend one more today together — just ME and you. In fact, the earlier holidays related to all mankind: On the High Holidays GOD judges the entire world. On Sukkot we would bring Temple sacrifices for the well-being of all the nations. But not Simchat Torah, GOD asks for just a little quiet time together. No one else; just the two of us. . .we realize just how wonderful it is to be alone with GOD.

Blessed is the LORD our GOD, KING of the Universe WHO sanctifies us with HIS mitzvoth and gave us HIS Holy Feasts. May we each have a life-changing experiencing and "Awake!" as the blast of the Shofar is dramatically sounded and strive to be holy, even as the LORD our GOD is abundantly faithful and holy.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Welcome Sabbath of Simchat TORAH! We honor and praise the LORD YESHUA, the ONE WHO gives true Sabbath peace and rest and separates the sacred from the ordinary; the sacred from the mundane. A truly wonderful Sabbath of Z'man Simchataynu — time of our rejoicing! Moses spent the next 40 days beseeching GOD not to wipe out the nation utterly. He then spent another 40 days on Mount Sinai receiving the Second Tablets. He returned at last on Yom Kippur, when GOD forgave the nation entirely. This is the TORAH we celebrate on Simchat TORAH.
The Promised Land of Israel seems small, but it is so great. Thus, we celebrate together: Shabbos, holy-days, the survival and potential of the Jewish people; in short everything we can be. Simchat Torah is not an afterthought, it is the holy-day that gives everything else perspective. Thus, we joyfully proclaim: "Chag Sameyach!" Rejoice and honor the wonders of the SOVEREIGN ONE and HIS HOLY WORD on SIMCHAT TORAH! "Vezot ha’Bracha — and this is the blessing" ...HIS SACRED WORD to us. [see Deuteronomy 33.1 – 34.12; Numbers 29.35 – 30.1; Joshua 1.1-18]
A Chassidic rabbi once said, that during the month of Tishri, a Jew serves GOD with one’s whole being: On Rosh ha’Shanah with one’s brain, since we remember our deeds; on Yom Kippur with one’s heart, since fasting strains the heart; on Sukkot with one’s hands, since we grasp the lulav and etrog; and on Simchat TORAH with one’s feet, when we dance with the TORAH.
Every one of us has his personal story, how the TORAH has touched his life, how he came to be who he is today, and what the TORAH means to him. For the TORAH is the possession of all of us. No one has the monopoly on GOD’S wisdom. It is wisdom we can all study and grow from — and recognize its personal message to us. For when we dance on Simchat TORAH, we celebrate the fact that we have been cleansed on Yom Kippur. We celebrate that ALMIGHTY GOD has once again accepted us. So, on Simchat TORAH we celebrate that the TORAH is ours and we rejoice in a quiet time with our LOVING MASTER, just the two of us. As we dance with the TORAH, we bask in the unique, eternal happiness that only GOD and HIS HOLY WORD can bring into our lives — "It is a Tree of Life for those who grasp it." [Proverbs/Mishle 3:18]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The TALMUD says that in the days of MESSIAH, all Jews will dwell together in one gigantic Sukkah. This emphasizes the good and pleasant need for us to dwell in unity; perhaps the reason we take the four spices — the Etrog, Lulav, Myrtle & Willow — bind them together and wave them in all directions. Thus declaring that all Jews and Gentiles are a part of the same unit; pledging to discover how all these parts can work together to accomplish a HIGHER good.

SHEMINI ATZERET
"You shall take for yourselves on the first day (of Sukkos) the fruit of the beautiful Hadar Tree (Etrog), branches of a Palm Tree (Lulav), boughs from the Myrtle Tree (Hadassim) and Willows of the brook (Aravos), and you shall rejoice before the LORD your GOD for seven days. You shall observe it as a Festival of the LORD for seven days in the year; you shall observe it in the seventh month as a law for all time, throughout the ages." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 40 - 41 Tanakh, Torah]

Shemini Atzeret (Shemini: eight; Atzeret: solemn assembly — the 8th day of Sukkot celebration) is likened to the special feast of a king for his beloved son: For a full week the king celebrated with all his kingdom. After this week of festivities, the king said to his son, "It is difficult for me to part with you. Please stay another day to celebrate." {Atzeres also means "holding back" — referring to the king who held back his son from leaving with the rest of the celebrants.}

For the full seven days of Sukkot, seventy sacrifices were brought into the Bais ha’Mikdash (Holy Temple in Jerusalem) on behalf of all the nations. If the nations of the world would have known the value of the Temple for them, they would have surrounded it with fortresses in order to protect it. GOD, the ETERNAL ONE, set aside an eighth day of celebration on which only one holiday sacrifice was offered, this one on behalf of the Jewish nation, and it became a day of unique celebration between CREATOR GOD and HIS chosen people.

Simchat Beit ha'Sheavah ("Happiness of the House of the Water-Drawing") is one of the many practices during this festival. Each night throughout the holiday, tens of thousands of spectators would gather outside the Temple walls while the most pious members of the community would dance and sing before GOD asking for HIS blessing of rain in its right time. Water and wine are poured out from different golden pitchers so they mingle together as they fall onto the ground; thus signifying prayer for abundant rain necessary for the growth of crops. In times of old, during the Sukkot holiday, water from the Pool of Siloam in the City of David was drawn and carried to the Holy Temple. The Temple celebration during Sukkot was highlighted by the Ceremony of Water-Drawing for the holyday offerings. This ceremony was unique in that all year the libations on the Altar were performed with wine, but on Sukkot, plain water was used. Yet it was said that "whoever has not seen the joy at the place of the water-drawing has never seen true joy in his life!" [Sukkah 51] The joy expressed in this ceremony was the joy of the simple and pure acceptance of the ALMIGHTY GOD'S will, as symbolized by clear water; contrasting to the acceptance that is based on the joy of understanding, symbolized by wine. Spiritually, it prophesied the coming of the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA and the outpouring of the HOLY SPIRIT.

According to the TALMUD, Sukkot is the time when GOD determines the amount of rain that will fall in the coming year. The Water Libation therefore was deeply revered as an opportunity to request the life-giving waters. Though we do not have the Temple today, Jewish communities all over the world still celebrate the festival by joining together and indulging in food, drink, music and dance to thank the GLORIOUS KING of Israel for HIS precious gifts and for HIS tremendous kindness. With their unique approach to reveal extraordinary teachings extracted from the HOLY WORD. "Joyfully shall you draw water out of the Fountains of Salvation!" [Isaiah/Yeshayah 12. 3]

Observant Jews take the "Arba Minim (taking of the Four Kinds)" of plants in his hands into the family Sukkah (booth), recites a benediction ["Baruch ata ADONAY ELOHEINU MELECH ha’olam asher kidishanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu al n’tilat lulv – Blessed are YOU LORD our GOD, KING of the universe WHO sanctifies us with HIS mitzvoth and commanded us concerning the taking of a palm branch.], then shakes these three times in all four directions (which forms a cross) to indicate that GOD'S glory fills the whole universe. This is done in fulfillment of the commandment, "On the first day you shall take the product of hadar trees (Hebrew: p’rietz hadar — the fruit of beautiful trees), branches of palm trees, boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the LORD your GOD seven days." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 40 Tanakh, Torah] The four plants enumerated in the TORAH are the Etrog (lemon-like citron – symbolizing a world of abundance and peace for all people), Lulav (palm branch), Hadassim (myrtle) and Aravos (willows).

In our oral tradition, it is explained that each of these Four Kinds corresponds to a different type of person, from the Etrog, which has both refreshing tastes (constant TORAH learning) and delightful fragrance (good deeds) to the Aravah (willow), which has neither of these qualities. Despite their differences, the TORAH instructs us to take these four and bind them together, for they complement one another. So too does the Jew — and Gentile — complement one another; and only when there is true harmony among all people can we hope for an ideal existence. May it happen soon and in our time!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Welcome Sabbath of Shemini Atzeret! We honor and praise the LORD YESHUA, the ONE WHO gives true Sabbath peace and rest and separates the sacred from the ordinary; the sacred from the mundane. A truly wonderful Sabbath of Z'man Simchataynu (the time of our rejoicing)!
The TALMUD says that in the days of the MESSIAH, all Jews will dwell together in one gigantic Sukkah. This underscores the need for Jewish unity. Perhaps this is the reason why on Sukkot we take the four species — Etrog, Lulav, Myrtle and Willow — bind them close together, and wave them in all directions. We declare that all Jews are part of the same unit. And, we pledge to discover how all these parts can work together to accomplish our lofty goals.
We are extremely grateful to the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL for HIS miracles that are with us all day and for the wonders and goodness of every moment.
"Chag Sameyach!" — joy to you and yours, may this day be extraordinary and blessed as we celebrate the 8th Day of Assembly.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Sitting in the Sukkah reminds us to be aware of and grateful for the SOVEREIGN ONE'S absolute, all-encompassing protection.

HO'SHANAH RABBAH
"You shall dwell in booths for seven days; all who are native Israelites shall live in booths, in order that future generations may know that I made the Israelite people live in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I am the LORD your GOD." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 42 - 43 Tanakh, Torah]

Ho'Shanah Rabbah is the name of the seventh day of Sukkot, and is a holy-day in itself. It is the final day of Chol Hamo’ed Sukkot (the intermediate days of Sukkot). In BIBLE times, the Jews who came to celebrate the Feast carried lights and torches to the Temple area illuminating most of Jerusalem and surrounding areas. It was on the last day of Sukkot, the day of the Great Ho'Shanah, while the people rejoiced, the water being poured forth and the priests blew the trumpets, the Levites were singing the Great Hallel (Praise) and the people were praying, "Ho'Shianah, hatshlichana (Save now, I pray, O LORD; O LORD, I pray, send us prosperity!)!" [Psalms (Tehillym) 118. 25 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

The LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH stood in their midst to tell them that HE was the answer to all their celebration! YESHUA knew that a drought existed in their hearts as Isaiah stated, "All who thirst, come to the waters." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 55. 1 Tanakh, Nevi'im] "The LORD will guide you always; HE will satisfy your thirst in parched places...and you will be like a watered garden, like a spring whose waters do not fail." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 58. 11 Tanakh, Nevi'im] Thus, the LORD YESHUA declared to them — "If anyone thirsts, let him come to ME and drink. He who believes in ME, as the SCRIPTURE has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." [John 7. 37 - 38] By this, the LORD JESUS was speaking of the HOLY SPIRIT, which they that believe on HIM should receive.

Oh Yes! The LORD YESHUA is the RAIN for which the people prayed. HE is the LIGHT of the world, the GLORY that fills the Temple. HE is the WINE poured out with the water, as well as the WATER OF LIFE. YESHUA ha'MASHIACH is the LORD OF THE HARVEST, the GREAT INGATHERER! Some glorious day there shall be a greater ingathering of a greater harvest which John describes. . . "After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the LAMB, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation (Ho'Sanah) belongs to our GOD WHO sits on the Throne, and to the LAMB!" [Revelation 7. 9 - 10]

The Sukkot foreshadows MESSIAH'S PROTECTIVE PRESENCE over Israel during HIS Thousand-Year Kingdom Reign. The HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL promised this covenant of friendship with the children of Jacob: "I will place MY Sanctuary among them forever." [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 37. 27 Tanakh, Torah] As we eagerly await in imminent expectation for that glorious time, may we be even more urgently faithful to obey and serve as our LORD & KING commissioned, that we may dwell forever with HIM in that Heavenly Sukkah.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
With GOD'S help, the Jewish people will refuse to be "Weeping Willows" any more.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
It is not that the OMNISCIENT CREATOR does not speak to us, but that we do not listen.

AS IT IS WRITTEN
"(Do NOT) fail to observe faithfully all the terms of this TEACHING that are written in this BOOK, that you may reverence and fear this glorious, honored and awesome NAME, the LORD your GOD." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 28. 58 Tanakh, Torah]

The Hebrew word "cepher (book)" literally meaning "BOOK OF EVIDENCE." The HOLY WORD was written by the various prophets, and MESSIAH YESHUA even stated that they were all to be taught by ALMIGHTY GOD. "Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the FATHER comes to ME." [John 6. 45] The ETERNAL ONE wanted us to hear and understand HIS warning that there is a blessing to those who obey HIM and a curse on those who do not.

The Prophet Malachi writes about a BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE, "Then those who revere the LORD talked to one another. The LORD has heard and noted it, and a BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE has been written at HIS order concerning those who revere the LORD and who meditate and esteem HIS NAME." [Malachi (Malakhi) 3. 16 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Paul advised Timothy to "give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine" [1 Timothy 4. 13], and especially "the HOLY SCRIPTURES, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in CHRIST JESUS. All SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of GOD, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of GOD may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." [2 Timothy 3. 15 - 17]

The HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL, blessed be HE, has such protective love for HIS HOLY WORD, HE gives several warnings about those who may change it:
"You shall not add anything to what I command you or take anything from it, but keep the commandments of the LORD your GOD that I enjoin upon you." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 4. 2 Tanakh, Torah] "Be careful to observe only that which I enjoin upon you; neither add to it or take away from it." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 12. 32 Tanakh, Torah] "Every WORD OF GOD is pure; a SHIELD to those who take refuge in HIM. Do not add to HIS words, lest HE rebuke you and you be proved a liar." [Proverbs (Mishle) 30. 5-6 Tanakh, Kethuvim] "I know that whatever GOD does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it – GOD has brought it to pass that men revere HIM." [Ecclesiastes (Kohelet) 3. 14 Tanakh, Kethuvim] "Thus says the LORD: 'Stand in the court of the HOUSE OF THE LORD and speak all the words which I command you to speak. Do not diminish or omit anything." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 26. 2 Tanakh, Nevi'im] "For I testify to everyone who hears the WORDS of the Prophecy of this BOOK: If anyone adds to these things, GOD will add to him the plagues that are written in this BOOK; and if anyone takes away from the words of the BOOK of this prophecy, GOD shall take away his part from the BOOK OF LIFE, from the Holy City, and from the things which are written in this BOOK." [Revelation 22. 18 - 19]

Indeed, man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every "WORD" that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. All who love the PRECIOUS MIGHTY CREATOR cherish the WORD OF THE LORD. Those who want to know and understand GOD'S heart will study HIS LOVE LETTER to us. There is such abundant living to be found in HIS HOLY SCRIPTURES. May the grace of our LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH be with you all. Amen!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
As we bid farewell to Sabbath Chol Hamo’ed – Festival week day 6 of Sukkot, our prayer is that GOD, WHO'S PRESENCE dwells within us, bless you abundantly. Our prayers, be’esrat ha’Shem — with the help of GOD — is that ALMIGHTY LORD GOD will cause the whole House of Israel, and the whole House of Judah to cling to HIM that they may become a people of GOD, for praise and for glory that all should fear and tremble at HIS PRESENCE and know that HE alone is the LOVING SOVEREIGN GOD.
LORD our GOD, great, eternal, wonderful in glory, WHO keeps covenant and promises for those that love YOU with their whole heart. YOU are the LIFE of all, the HELP for those that flee to YOU, the HOPE of those who cry to YOU. Cleanse us from our sins, secret and open, and from every thought displeasing to YOUR goodness. . . cleanse our bodies and souls, our hearts and consciences, that with a pure heart, and a clear soul, with perfect love and calm hope, we may endeavor confidently and fearlessly to pray to YOU. Amen
"Chag Sameyach" — a joyous Sukkoth to you and yours, may these days be extraordinary and richly blessed and the sweetness of Sabbath be present throughout the week!
Festival week day 6 of Feast of Booths.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The critic should be like a grindstone, sharpening without cutting.

BEFORE THE FOUNDATIONS
"I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her SEED; HE shall strike at your head, and you shall strike at HIS heel." [Genesis (Bereshith) 3. 15 Tanakh, Torah]

When Adam and Eve rebelled and transgressed against ELOHIYM in the Garden of Eden, EVER-LOVING MASTER DESIGNER pronounced a curse on all creation [Genesis/Bereshith 3. 14 – 19]; death came into the world at that point. However, the ALMIGHTY ONE also told of the ONE to come WHO would be the REDEEMER-SAVIOR. This promise is hidden to most but so clearly shown in the beginning in a most unusual way, in a short genealogy of mankind before the flood.

The genealogy in Genesis/Bereshith 5 lists the names of the pre-flood patriarchs from Adam to Noah. Adam means man; Seth — appointed; Enosh — mortal; Cainan — sorrow or humiliation; Mahalaleel — blessed of GOD; Jared — shall come down; Enoch — teaching or dedicated; Methuselah — his death shall bring or judgment; Lamech — despairing, weary or conqueror; Noah — comfort or rest.

The meaning of the names form a redemptive sentence when read together: A MAN is appointed to become a mortal; in sorrow, blessed of GOD, HE shall come down to teach. And, HIS death will bring despair; then, comfort and rest.
Or — Mankind is appointed to mortality, wailing for the dead. GOD be praised! HE shall descend, a mortal MAN, dismissing death, bring rest to the weary.
Or even — Mankind is appointed to mortality, bringing humiliation (sorrow). GOD be praised! HE shall descend, a dedicated MAN. When HE dies as judgment, HE will conquer, bringing comfort and rest.

The Plan of Salvation was made before the world began. "HE (JESUS) indeed was predetermined before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you." [1 Peter 1. 20] "HE (ETERNAL GOD) chose us in HIM (YESHUA) before the foundation of the world." [Ephesians 1. 3 - 4] "In the fullness of time, GOD sent HIS SON to be born of woman, under the Law." [Galatians 4. 4]

There has never been a time when the ALMIGHTY HOLY CREATOR, the LORD GOD OMNIPOTENT has forsaken HIS creation. Mankind would do well to learn such love and in return, appropriately give HIM the honor, glory, majesty, blessings and adoration HE alone is worthy of.

Sha’alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Come my dear friend, to meet the Bride, the Sabbath presence, let us welcome. We honor & praise the LORD YESHUA, the ONE, WHO gives true Sabbath peace and rest and separates the sacred from the ordinary. Of old the MASTER DESIGNER rested on the seventh day and blessed it.
Exalted and highly praised be the LORD, the CREATOR, the LIVING GOD and EVERLASTING KING, HIS abundance of mercies and loving-kindness rest upon HIS servants. The LORD will be a SHELTER for HIS people, and the STRENGTH of the children of Israel, and they shall all know HIM. Blessed be the glory of the LORD our GOD; enjoy HIS perfect peace and presence.
"Chag Sukkot Sameyach! " — a joyous Sukkoth (Festival of Booths) celebrating the ALMIGHTY ONE'S joyous seasons of life. Delight yourself by making it a life-changing experience! Praise to GOD, the LORD OF HOSTS for HE is good, HIS mercy endures forever. May Judah be saved and Jerusalem dwell in safety!
We were greatly blessed when the HOLY ONE has brought us out of slavery from Egypt (Passover) and took HIS people directly to Mount Sinai. There HE gave us the Law (Shavuoth) to keep us free from slavery (to sin). Then, gave us YESHUA ha'MASHIACH. . . to keep us free and give us true peace and rest (Sukkoth/Booths).
Have a very blessed Sabbath Chol Hamo’ed — Festival week day 5 of Sukkot!

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

Delrifkah: HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. - Page 6 Empty Re: Delrifkah: HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Confession is worth one hundred witnesses.

ASHAMED OR BOLD
"According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all BOLDNESS, as always, so now also MESSIAH YESHUA will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death." [Philippians 1. 20]

Paul frequently looked ahead, anticipating future events with confidence, as if they had already happened or at least were secure. He anticipated beyond his present circumstances to foresee the outcome of faithfulness — not being ashamed at the time of judgment.

Shame (Hebrew: kelimmah) is that painful feeling of having lost the respect of others because of improper behavior, incompetence, or selfishness. It implies that the person has already thought about the consequences of the action and is aware that they might be found out in the course of events, but acts improperly anyhow. No defense is possible in that tragic moment of discovery. The ashen shock is followed by a rapid flush of blood to the skin, where the truth is revealed in an un-mistaken emotional display of humiliation that the world can visibly read. "The wicked flee when no one gives chase, but the righteous are as confident (Hebrew: batach — bold, secure) as a lion." [Proverbs (Mishle) 28. 1 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Ezra experienced that deep feeling as he came before the ETERNAL LORD GOD to confess for his people their disobedience and how they had forsaken HIS commandments which the ALMIGHTY ONE gave through HiS servants and prophets. [Ezra 9. 10] "O my GOD, I am too ashamed and humiliated to lift my face to YOU, O my GOD, for our iniquities are overwhelming and numerous; and our guilt has grown high as heaven." [Ezra 9. 6 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

In contrast to that terrible feeling of guilt is the comfortable posture of knowing that we have remained true to our MASTER'S admonitions and warnings, "little children, abide in HIM, that, when HE shall appear, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before HIM at HIS coming." [1 John 2. 28] The LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH clearly stated the conditions, "for whoever is ashamed of ME and of MY WORDS, of him the SON OF MAN will be ashamed when HE comes in HIS OWN GLORY, and in HIS FATHER'S, and of the holy angels." [Luke 9. 26] Praying always, "that I may open my mouth BOLDLY to make known the mystery of the GOSPEL...that I may speak BOLDLY, as I ought to speak." [Ephesians 6. 18 - 20] May we be found worthy and confidently standing firm and attentively doing the MASTER'S will, with a clear conscience, when HE comes for us or we go to be with HIM.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Praised are YOU, O LORD GOD, for great is YOUR love for us and YOUR compassion boundless. Be gracious to us that we may understand and fulfill the teachings of YOUR PRECIOUS REVERED WORD. Enlighten our eyes in YOUR Law that we may cling to YOUR commandments. Thank YOU for YOUR saving power, for from YOU comes our help. Draw us nearer to YOU to serve YOU in faithfulness. Joyfully, we lift our voices and proclaim YOUR PRECIOUS NAME.
"Baruch ata Adonoy, Elo-heinu Melech ha'olam, asher kid'shanu bi'mitzvo-sav, vi'tzivanu lay-shave ba-sukkah." — "Blessed are YOU, LORD our GOD, KING of the Universe, WHO sanctified us with HIS mitzvot, and instructed us to sit in the Sukkah."
Have a joyful Chol Hamo’ed – Festival week day 4 of Sukkot!

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
GOD does not ask the impossible of us — only the incredibly difficult — so we will know that our strength is in HIM alone.

SEVENTEENTH OF TISHRI
"In the seventh month (Tishri), on the seventeenth day of the month, the (Noah's) ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat." [Genesis (Bereshith) 8. 4 Tanakh, Torah]

Except for Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives, and those animals the LORD GOD brought aboard the ark. . . all the populations of both man and animals on the earth was completely destroyed.  But, Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD SUPREME.  When the ark came to rest in the mountains of Ararat it was as though there was a new beginning on earth.

Many years later in the land of Egypt the SOVEREIGN ONE told Moses and Aaron: "This month (Nisan) shall mark for you the beginning of the months; it shall be the first month of the year for you." [Exodus (Shemot) 12. 2 Tanakh, Torah] {"In the first month, which is the month of Nisan…they cast lots…" —Esther/Ester 3. 7}  This timing was the culmination of the series of plagues sent upon the Egyptians.  ALMIGHTY GOD would deliver the Israelites from their bondage as HE sent out the Angel of Death to pass over the houses that had the blood rightly applied

This passing over was reckoned as "between the evenings" of the 14th of Nisan (in the Jewish calendar each new day begins at sundown) when the lambs were to be sacrificed.  "Now you shall keep watch over it until the fourteenth day of this month; then all the assembled congregation of the Israelites shall slaughter it at twilight." [Exodus (Shemot) 12. 6 Tanakh, Torah]

YESHUA ha'MASHIACH, the PIERCED REDEEMER died as the PERFECT SACRIFICIAL LAMB, for HE was without blemish.  The LORD YESHUA was crucified on Passover, the 14th of Nisan.  However, HE was in the grave for three days, but arose victoriously on the 17th day of the month, the Feast of Firstfruits.

Thus, the HEAVENLY FATHER arranged for HIS "NEW BEGINNING" of the whole world in HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA.  Even though the Jewish New Year known as "Rosh ha'Shanah (means: head of the year)" is celebrated on the 1st of Tishri — the seventh month (Fall season) . . . when CREATOR GOD established the "Passover" — HE also instructed Moses to make "Nisan" (Spring time), "the first of months of the year for you." [Exodus (Shemot) 12. 2 Tanakh, Torah]

As with times, days, and seasons, the GREAT & MIGHTY LORD OF HOSTS can make changes in our own individual lives.  The LORD GOD OF ISRAEL can do what no other power can do!   HE alone is the LOVING ETERNAL GOD.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Enjoy Sukkot, rejoice, be happy!
Beauty is the unconquerable power of life, the determination to live on despite all difficulties, the drive for eternity. The etrog tree fulfils this requirement of constant dwelling, for most other fruits are seasonal, but the etrog grows, blossoms and produces fruit throughout all the seasons: in the heat and the cold, in the wind and in storm — it stubbornly persists!  It endures! And in the Jewish view, that is why it is beautiful.
Beauty, then, in classical Jewish sources, means the indomitable (unconquerable, spirited, stubborn) power of life, the determination to live on despite all difficulties, the affirmation of the victory of life over death, the drive for eternity.
In this light, we can understand another striking mitzvah in the TORAH. Concerning the obligation to honor the elderly, the TORAH states: "ve'HADAR'ta p'nei zakein" — which is usually translated "and honor the face of the old person." The word hadar, however, literally means "beauty" — so what the verse is actually telling us is to ascribe beauty to the old face.
"Simcha Shel Mitzvah (joy in doing good)"…the good performed out of a sense of requirement is not as meaningful as one performed out of desire and with enjoyment.
Wishing you a joyful Chol Hamo’ed — Festival week day 3 of Sukkot!

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
A fool falls on his back and bruises his nose.

PATHS & WAYS
"Thus said the LORD — Stand by the roads and consider, inquire about ancient paths; which is the road to happiness? Travel it and find tranquility for yourselves. But they said — We will not!" [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 6. 16 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

The world today seems to demand that everyone follow whatever is new, fashionable or politically correct and popular. In addition to that drivel and nonsense, there is always some new philosophy, religion, more modern version of traditional doctrines, or another new idea. However, the ALMIGHTY CREATOR, the HIGH & LOFTY ONE does not change with the times. With HIM, there "is no variation or shadow of turning." [James 1. 17] From everlasting to everlasting GOD is unchanging, MESSIAH YESHUA "is the same yesterday, today, and forever." [Hebrews 13. 8] "For I am the LORD, I do not change." [Malachi (Malakhi) 3. 6 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

What we may call new is simply repeats of ancient immoralities and ancient evolutionism, since "only that shall happen which has happened. Only that shall occur which has occurred; there is nothing new beneath the sun." [Ecclesiastes (Kohelet) 1. 9 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

The old paths constitute the " GOOD WAY " and GOD'S holy people will never find rest for their soul until they walk in them. "Do not remove the ancient boundary stone that your ancestors set up." [Proverbs (Mishle) 22. 28 Tanakh, Kethuvim] "You shall not move your countryman's landmarks, set up by men of old, in the property that will be allotted to you in the land that the LORD your GOD is giving you to possess." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 19. 14 Tanakh, Torah]

The NEW COVENANT rebukes those idle philosophers and academic dreamers who "spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing." [Acts 17. 21] The "GOOD NEWS" is the "HOPE of ETERNAL LIFE which GOD, WHO cannot lie, promised before time began." [Titus 1. 2] The wonders of the GLORIOUS & EXALTED CREATOR GoD are great, rich, and without number!

Sha’alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel !
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Be gracious to us ALMIGHTY LORD GOD that we may understand and fulfill the Teaching of YOUR WORD. Enlighten our eyes in YOUR Law that we may cling to YOUR commandments. Unite our hearts to love and revere YOU and to learn YOUR WORDS and wisdom. LORD YOU are my PRAISE, my STRENGTH, my FORTRESS, my REFUGE — in days of affliction and at all times.
May you have a heart to know YEHOWAH, that HE is the LORD of your life; oh, return to HIM with your whole heart. May each of you be delivered from trouble and harm, or strengthened through it. Heal us O LORD, make us righteous in YOUR sight.
Wishing you a joyful Day 2 of Sukkot!

Post  Admin on Tue 18 Oct 2016, 9:20 pm

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
From the time of the Exodus — "Freedom" is spoken with a Hebrew accent.

SUKKOT — FEAST OF BOOTHS
"You shall dwell in booths for seven days; all who are native Israelites shall live in booths, in order that future generations may know that I made the Israelite people live in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I am the LORD your GOD." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 42 - 43 Tanakh, Torah]

"Sukkot" is the Hebrew word for the Festival of the Feast of Tabernacles, also known as "Chag ha-Asif (Feast of Ingathering)." This is the Season of our Rejoicing for the TORAH commandment to rejoice is mentioned more often in connection with the holy day of Sukkot then for any other. It is a national holiday that begins at sunset this evening memorializing the journey from the land of slavery to the Land of Promise. Sukkot is called "zman simchateinu — the time of our joy" . . . living in the shadow of GOD'S embrace.

This Feast emphasizes thanksgiving, celebration and a temporary dwelling place. It commemorates the 40-years of wandering in the desert and marks the final harvest of the agricultural year. It is the custom to dwell in Sukkah (booths, huts) decorated with various kinds of fruits and flowers. This symbolizes the house where you and the ALMIGHTY CREATOR will dwell together.

There are nine traditional fruits that are hung in the Sukkah, symbolizing nine characteristics and attributes of the HOLY TRUE & LIVING GOD that HE desires for us to have in our lives. The nine fruits include pomegranates, figs, dates, oranges, apples, grapes, pumpkins, etrog (citron—similar to a lemon), and the fruit from locust tree (a chocolate-type fruit). The nine FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT are symbolized by the nine fruits hanging in the Sukkot. "The FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." [Galatians 5. 22 - 23] There is a remarkable correlation between the two.

Sukkot is indeed a time of rejoicing, following closely after Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement (forgiveness, covering). Sukkot begins on the fifteenth day of Tishri, at the time of the ingathering of the crops — a further cause for rejoicing, as one looks with a sense of humbleness knowing the LOVING MASTER, blessed be HE, has prospered and blessed the fruits of one's labor of the previous months.

The seven-day celebration of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles/Booths) is the last of the three pilgrimage festivals, the holy days on which the Jews were commanded to go up to Jerusalem. A time when all Jewish males over the age of thirteen were commanded to come to Jerusalem to celebrate. This is called "Sholosh Regolim" — the other two Feasts are Pesach (Passover) and Shavuoth (Pentecost). Women and children joined these pilgrimages whenever possible.

Sukkot is celebrated for 7 days. However, the 8th day which follows is a Solemn Assembly known as "Shemini Atzeres (holding back)" — which is also a Sabbath and a complete holiday in its own right. This speaks of the future earthly MESSIANIC KINGDOM when peace and righteousness shall rule and GOD'S people will be observing the Seventh Day Sabbath during that time they are "resting in GOD" and "GOD resting in HIS people." Then follows the new day, the New Beginning, the first day of Eternity. . . a Sabbath forever!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
"Chag Sukkot Sameyach! " — a joyous Sukkot (Festival of Booths) celebrating the ALMIGHTY ONE'S joyous seasons of life. Delight yourself by making it a life-changing experience! Praise to GOD, the LORD OF HOSTS for HE is good, HIS mercy endures forever. May Judah be saved and Jerusalem dwell in safety!
We were greatly blessed when the HOLY ONE brought us out of slavery from Egypt (Passover) and took HIS people directly to Mount Sinai. There HE gave us the Law (Shavuoth) to keep us free from slavery (to sin). Then, gave us YESHUA ha'MASHIACH...to keep us free and give us true peace and rest (Sukkoth/Booths).
We are creatures of comfort. We have to push ourselves to move beyond our physical needs and desires. It isn’t easy, the pull of inertia (disinterest, inactivity, apathy, sluggishness) is very strong. So the Almighty gives us a boost. “Move outdoors with me. Come sit under the wings of my Presence and experience My clouds of glory. It’s time to let go of your attachments to the material world. Come outside, leave your comfort zone so that you can embrace our relationship…you will appreciate a change.”
The holiday of Sukkot impels us to live just outside our comfort zone — without the walls and locks and sense of stability provided by the material world that usually consoles us. On the High Holidays we make decisions about growth and transformation. It isn’t easy to stick to them — even with the best organized plans. The Almighty King, when we allow ourselves to live solely under His protection for a week. . . (Yes, we are always solely under His protection), but on Sukkot we make it authentically real, understandable, and obvious. The joy of that experience can carry you through the year.
May these days be extraordinary and blessed as we celebrate the 1st Day of Assembly.
The Four Species are waved each day (except for Shabbat) in the synagogue, during the recitation of the Hallel prayers of praise. Hallel is followed by Hoshanot, where everyone circles a Torah scroll.

Post  Admin on Mon 17 Oct 2016, 8:44 pm

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Freedom without self-restraint is anarchy (rebellion, confusion, chaos) and tyranny (bondage, oppression, cruelty).

TREE OF TRUTH
"MY little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before HIM." [1 John 3. 18 - 19]

Truth is not included in the nine fruits of the SPIRIT, because truth is the tree on which fruit grows. No one can really do or teach the truth without manifesting true love, nor can one manifest true love except in a framework of genuine truth; because "the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." [Galatians 5. 22 - 23] And the HOLY SPIRIT that produces such fruit, is "the SPIRIT OF TRUTH WHO proceeds from the FATHER." [John 15. 26]

Some immature followers of the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA can be abrasive and unloving in their attitude toward those who hold to other doctrines. Rather then be critical, we should grow to maturity so that our integrity in communication is that of "speaking the truth in love." [Ephesians 4. 15]

Truth and love are not in conflict with one another as some may think or act, for they represent two distinct — not opposite — categories. JESUS, the ETERNAL LIVING WORD is TRUTH, and HE so confirmed of HIMSELF, "I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE." [John 14. 6] "YOUR WORD is TRUTH." [John 17. 17] And we know that "GOD is love, and he who abides in love abides in GOD, and GOD in him." [1 John 4. 16] "This is love, that we walk according to HIS commandments." [2 John 1. 6]

It is vitally important to know accurate BIBLICAL TRUTH, "know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall make you free." [John 8. 32] Being free, you are now under grace, receiving everlasting life, and are now slaves to righteousness and need to grow into maturity of the faith that the world may know to WHOM we belong; now speaking the truth in love that others might be saved.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Praised is YOUR HOLY NAME, O LORD GOD. YOU have made YOUR eternal law our portion, and gave us a goodly heritage. YOU appointed us to proclaim YOUR truth to the nations and to win them for YOUR Law of Righteousness. Sanctify us for the service to which YOU called us, O HEAVENLY FATHER, that YOUR NAME may be hallowed through us in all the world. Gather all YOUR children around YOUR banner of truth that YOUR praise may resound from one end of the earth to the other, and that the entire human family may be blessed with truth and peace!
The "Tree of Life" is a beautiful metaphor for the TORAH (Five Books of Moses). Just as a tree's roots go deep into the earth anchoring the tree, so too does our connection with the HOLY BIBLE anchor us to GOD. Jewish tradition teaches that the day on which GOD descended on Mt. Sinai and instructed the children of Israel to prepare for the receiving of the TORAH was a Tuesday, which was also the day of the week on which HE created grasses, herbs of the field and the fruit trees. [Genesis/Bereshith 1:11] This parallel teaches us that just as trees and vegetation are vitally essential to the creation and sustaining of the earth, the BIBLE is integral to the creation and sustaining of the faithful and moral human being. Therefore, the symbolic "Tree of Life" is also a physical tree, nourishing and strengthening the soil of the Holy Land, v'etz ha-kha-yim — tree of life.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Wisdom should not make you feel full, but fill you with hunger.

WARNING!!!
"HE (YESHUA, the SON OF MAN) will say to those on HIS left hand — Depart from ME, you cursed, into the Everlasting Fire prepared for the devil and his angels." [Matthew 25. 41]

The REDEEMER of all ages, MESSIAH YESHUA, WHO taught the importance of love and forgiveness, spoke these words. In fact, the LORD JESUS had more to say about hell and eternal punishment than any other speaker or writer in the HOLY SCRIPTURES. This JESUS, WHO is the PRECIOUS CREATOR GOD [Colossians 1. 16], the Soon-Coming JUDGE [John 5. 22], and the only MAN WHO died and is risen from the dead [2 Corinthians 5. 14-15], we would do well to believe HIS warnings.

CHRIST JESUS, the SAVIOR, has marked and noted the warnings well. Consider a few of the prophecies: "So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast the wicked into the furnace of fire. THERE WILL BE WAILING AND GNASHING OF TEETH." [Matthew 13. 49 - 50] "If your eye makes you sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the KINGDOM OF GOD with one eye, than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire — where their WORM DOES NOT DIE AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED." [Mark 9. 47 - 48] And, there are so many more words of warning. But, how can we reconcile such threats of doom with CHRIST'S OWN character of love?

The answer: Hell was prepared for Satan and his angels, not for people. The devil is a hostile rebel and has been against ALMIGHTY GOD since the beginning, wanting to be like GOD MOST HIGH [Isaiah/Yeshayah 14. 12 - 15], — and worshipped as such. When people follow Satan in this same rebellious path, rejecting GOD'S WRITTEN HOLY WORD, they are showing that they would prefer to be with the devil rather than with the LOVING MESSIAH YESHUA throughout eternity. JESUS, the MASTER OF MERCY & TRUTH loves us all the way to hell. However, HIS great love will not keep us out of hell if we do not come to GOD HIS WAY, which is through YESHUA, our only INTERCESSOR & REDEEMER. Therefore, the ETERNAL ONE , blessed be HE, has repeatedly warned of what is coming. . . and we must heed that warning.

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the KINGDOM OF GOD ? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, not thieves, not covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers (scoffer, insult, berate, despise), nor extortioners will inherit the KINGDOM OF GOD ." [1 Corinthians 6. 9 - 10] "The cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the Lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." [Revelation 21. 8] "Outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie." [Revelation 22. 15]

May we exemplify our love to the LORD OF GLORY and thank HIM for what HE has done to redeem us by obeying all that HE has commanded us to do for our good, and HIS glory. Obedience is the fruit of praise and the key to our relationship with the OMNIPOTENT MAJESTIC CREATOR, our ETERNAL HOPE & EXCEEDINGLY GREAT REWARD.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
As we bid farewell to Sabbath may gladness reign and joy increase throughout this Season of the LORD'S Festivals!
While this breath of life is in me, HOLY LORD of all worlds, I worship YOU. Help us, O GOD, to banish from our hearts all vain glory, pride of worldly possessions, and self-sufficient leaning on our own reason.
Fill us with YOUR SPIRIT of humility, meekness and the elegant grace of modesty that we may grow in wisdom and in reverence. May we never forget that all we have and prize is but lent to us, a trust for which we must render account to YOU. O HEAVENLY FATHER, put into our hearts the love and awe of YOU, that we may consecrate our lives to YOUR service and glorify YOUR NAME in the eyes of all men. Amen
May the following days be filled with great joy as we prepare for Sukkot/Feast of Booths.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
A man's service to ALMIGHTY GOD is sincere when he wants no publicity for it.

PARALLELISMS OF JONAH
The Book of Jonah is read during Yom Kippur in order to teach us that the compassion of the ALMIGHTY, TRUE & LIVING GOD extends over all that HE has created. Jonah was angry with the CREATOR for not destroying Nineveh . Jonah confused GOD'S hatred of evil in people for GOD'S abhorrence of the evil person. The mercy and compassion of the OMNIPOTENT ONE for the people of Nineveh is available to us today.

The ETERNAL KING does not think we are beyond hope. HE does not condemn us without an AVENUE OF REPENTANCE open to all who will receive HIM: "For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON, that whoever believes in HIM shall not perish but have everlasting life. For GOD did not send HIS SON into the world to condemn the world, but that the world, through HIM, might be saved." [John 3. 16 - 17] The government will be laid on the shoulders of MESSIAH YESHUA the KING and peace will never end. [Isaiah/Yeshayah 9. 6a, 7b; 22. 22]

Jonah is called. Jonah was in the light; Nineveh in darkness. Likewise, Israel and the nations. Israel was called to show the light of the LORD to the nations.

Jonah is disobedient. Israel became apostate and turned merchant. Israel became a curse to the world as did Jonah to the sailors.

Jonah is in trouble. It is thus with the Jews, trouble has come upon us and we are tossed about by the sea of nations.

Jonah does not deny GOD or his nationality. So with the Jews; we still believe in ONE GOD, and confess ourselves as Jews.

Jonah is cast overboard. So Israel is cast away in part for a time, as at present.
Sailor’s conversion. So the Gentiles turned to GOD on the fall of Israel .

Jonah is miraculously preserved. So is Israel among the nations — except for a remnant, spiritually dead, yet preserved by the LORD GOD of all flesh.

Jonah was not digested by big fish. The Jew is not digested by the nations, he is still a Jew. Assimilation fails!

Jonah is restored. So will Israel . "Salvation (our deliverance) is of the LORD. Selah" [Psalms (Tehillym) 68. 20 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Jonah is commissioned the second time and he obeyed. So will Israel !
Nineveh is spared. So will the world be spared who repent at the preaching of restored Israel .

When Israel 's eyes are opened to behold their MESSIAH, YESHUA OF NAZARETH, all the world will be glad and rejoice with the SIMCHAT TORAH (JOY OF THE LAW). May that time come soon, and in our time!

All in all, the story of Jonah is a grand historical picture of the MESSIAH’S Resurrection and Mission to all nations. Joppa, is the town from where Jonah embarked to avoid preaching to another nation. This was the very same town the LORD GOD chose some 800 years later to tell Peter to receive men of other nations. [Acts 10] It is also a prophetic picture of YESHUA’S resurrection on the "third day." [Matthew 12. 40]

We offer thanks to YOU, our LIVING & ETERNAL KING for YOU have mercifully restored our soul within us, YOUR faithfulness is immeasurable!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel , O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Our prayer as we welcome Sabbath: HOLY ETERNAL ONE, give us the kindness to hear with compassion, to offer support, loving comfort and care to all we meet. Give us the courage to do what is needed, the wisdom to choose what is right and most fair. Give us the vision to see what is possible. Give us the faith that will help pave the way for a present that’s hopeful, a future that’s peaceful — give us the heart to bring joy to each day. Thank YOU, ALMIGHTY GOD for making us a needy people, ever looking to YOU, the AUTHOR & FINISHER of our faith. Keep us ever mindful to praise, honor and obey YOU, O GOD our MAKER. May the days following be filled with great joy as we prepare for Sukkot—Feast of Tabernacles.
Five days after Yom Kippur, the holiday of Sukkot begins. In Israel , the holiday is seven days long — one day of a Sabbath-like holiday, followed by six days of Chol ha’Moed, on which many every-day activities are permitted. Immediately afterwards, on Tuesday, October 25th this year, is the one-day Sabbath-like holiday of Shmini Atzeret/Simchat Torah, known as the Rejoicing in the Law. Monday night will consist of post-holiday Hakafot Shniyot celebrations — a continuation of the day's singing and dancing in honor of the TORAH — all around Israel and various countries as we delight in SIMCHAT TORAH the following day. We rejoice greatly, LORD GOD, because we trust in YOU.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Sometimes forgetting can be a higher form of love than forgiving.

SCAPEGOAT, THE AZAZEL
"And he (Aaron) shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering. Aaron shall offer the bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house. He shall take the two he-goats and present them before the LORD at the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation. Then Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat. And Aaron shall bring the he-goat on which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer him as a sin offering. But the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make atonement over him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 5 – 10 Tanakh, Torah]

The Hebrew word for scapegoat or goat of departure is azazel — the word also refers to the evil one or his dwelling. Literally, the lots were cast so that one goat would go to the LORD and the other (according to tradition) to the Devil. However, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL said the goat was to be led away into a solitary land bearing the sins of the people after the High Priest laid his hands on the head of the goat and confessed over it the sins of the people. [Leviticus/Vayikra 16. 20 – 22] This ceremony was one of GOD’S historical pictures foretelling of the "coming atonement" for human sin by the death of MESSIAH YESHUA. The PRINCE OF PEACE became sin for us bearing our sins, taking on HIMSELF the punishment that was due us.

On the Day of Atonement under the OLD COVENANT, the High Priest would cast lots on two goats. The lot which fell on one goat would be "slain unto the LORD" — then it’s blood would be carried by the same High Priest into the Holy of Holies and placed upon the Mercy Seat. The High Priest had already taken the blood of the bullock into the Holiest for himself. When he returned to the people after their atonement — it was the second time he had made his appearance before them! And so it is with the GREATER HIGH PRIEST WHO came once to give HIS OWN blood and then after the FATHER’S acceptance of the Sacrifice when the sins of the people were forgiven, YESHUA ha’MASHIACH would again return — at the appointed time!

The goat which was slain unto the LORD and its blood shed, is a type of a new and living way into the PRESENCE OF GOD in the Holy of Holies: "For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the Law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which GOD has commanded you." Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. And according to the Law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For MESSIAH has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of GOD for us; not that HE should offer HIMSELF often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another — HE then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, HE has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of HIMSELF... And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this MAN, after HE had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of GOD." [Hebrews 9. 19 – 26; 10. 11, 12]

The other lot would fall upon the Azazel/Scapegoat: "Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness. And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities to a land not inhabited; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 21 – 22 Tanakh, Torah]

This scapegoat would carry the sins of the people far from them; it was a substitute; it was made sin that the people might be excused from the penalty of their sins! And YESHUA ha’MASHIACH was the SCAPEGOAT, for HE was the SUBSTITUTE WHO died outside the city of Jerusalem ("in the wilderness" – Hebrews 13.12) WHO carried our sins far from us, WHO was made sin that we might be made the righteousness of GOD in HIM! JESUS THE LORD CHRIST has done more than cover up our sins, HE has blotted them out completely! HE has moved them as far as the east is from the west; HE has cast them behind HIS back to be remembered against us No More!

ALMIGHTY GOD ordained that the Blood should be the only way of approaching HIM. This was shown from the very beginning with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. After they transgressed HIS Law, GOD HIMSELF slew an animal, shedding its blood, made coats of skin and with them, and covered their nakedness. Their sins were covered through the shedding of blood, by the sacrifice of a substitute.

"Cain brought an offering to the LORD from the fruit of the ground; and Abel, for his part, brought the choicest firstlings of his flock…and the LORD had respect to Abel and his offering, but to Cain and his offering HE paid no heed." [Genesis/Bereshith 4. 3 - 5] This looks like the institution of Blood Sacrifice, right at the start, as the condition of man’s acceptance with the RIGHTEOUS & HOLY GOD — an archaic hint, and the beginning of a long line of pictures and predictions of MESSIAH’S Atoning Death for the sin of mankind.

When the LORD commanded the people of Israel concerning their deliverance from Egypt, HE commanded them to take the firstling of the flock, an innocent lamb without spot or blemish, to shed its blood and place that blood on the doorpost, then said: "When I see the blood I will pass over you!" That first Passover, they had to stay where the blood was, they had to stay inside their houses until morning; they had Blood Protection!

"Much more then, having now been justified by HIS blood, we shall be saved from wrath through HIM." [Romans 5. 9 – 10] "Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with HIS OWN blood HE entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of CHRIST, WHO through the ETERNAL SPIRIT offered HIMSELF without spot to GOD, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the LIVING GOD?" [Hebrews 9. 12 - 14] Only the blood of JESUS, GOD’S ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON can give life eternal. Not blood flowing in the veins of man, but the blood shed of HIM WHO was with GOD in the creation of all things. Only such blood has power to purify an unclean soul and give a perfect body at the time of the resurrection so that we may appear unashamed, at last, in HIS presence.

Before the foundation of the earth, in the mind of GOD ETERNAL there was set a Day of Atonement for both Jew and Gentile which was fulfilled 2,000 years ago on the Altar of Calvary! We who have accepted GOD’S wondrous salvation can praise the LORD declaring: “MESSIAH YESHUA is my LORD, HE is my REDEMPTION for HE was slain in order that I might be admitted to life everlasting; HIS blood covering my sins.”

There is no longer a priest to cast lots, no scapegoats to send into the wilderness, and no blood to be poured on the Mercy Seat. The LORD MESSIAH YESHUA OF ISRAEL, has finished it all. Our WONDERFUL SAVIOR, by the sacrifice of HIMSELF, has inscribed our names in the LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE and we shall never be separated from HIM. No longer is it necessary that a goat or a bullock or even a fowl (a ceremony still performed by many Orthodox Jews over all the world substituting a fowl for a man — called Kapporas Schlagen) shed it’s blood for the remission of sins once every year, for GOD’S LAMB shed HIS blood once and for all, Jew or Gentile who believes in HIM can rejoice that there is a Yom Kippur (Day of Covering) for time and eternity, made possible through the PERFECT KAPPORAH (Sacrifice/Covering) WHO is YESHUA (JESUS), the ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON OF THE TRUE & LIVING GOD!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
I praise and thank YOU, ALMIGHTY ONE, for YOU comfort and delight my soul. YOU are my ROCK and my REFUGE, in YOU alone do I have hope and place my trust completely. May gladness reign and joy increase throughout this Season of the LORD'S Festivals!
Wishing you a meaningful day of rejoicing in the LORD GOD of Heaven!

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The HOLY BIBLE is an EXTRAORDINARY BOOK, expressing many norms and principles that have maintained their validity throughout thousands of years. It proclaims a vision of faith for men that is still valid and awaiting realization.

YOM KIPPUR
"In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, from evening to evening, you shall afflict your souls, exercise self-denial; and do no work at all — For on this day atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you of all your sins — It is a SABBATH OF REPENTANCE — a statute forever." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 29-31; 23. 27, 32 Tanakh, Torah]

Yom Kippur is the day of afflicting your souls. Perhaps the most important day of the Jewish Year, this is a day for repentance and forgiveness. Compare Leviticus to James and learn see for yourself how this "Sabbath of Sabbaths" is meaningful for true followers of MESSIAH YESHUA today.

Jews afflict their soul on Yom Kippur by fasting & praying. On the Day of Atonement in the Temple , the High Priest would announce: "O YEHOWAH, YOUR people, the House of Israel , have committed iniquity, have transgressed, have sinned before YOU! I beseech YOU by the NAME of YEHOWAH, make YOUR atonement for the iniquities and for the transgressions and for the sins wherein YOUR people, the House of Israel, have committed iniquity, have transgressed and sinned before YOU; as it is written in the TORAH of YOUR servant Moses, saying — "For on this Day atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you from all your sins; that you may be clean before YEHOWAH." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 30 Tanakh, Torah]

ALMIGHTY GOD pronounced a terrible decree upon those who did not have a day in which their sins were atoned for. But GOD OMNIPOTENT, in HIS mercy, has provided the WAY in which everyone can have a Day of Atonement — the ONLY WAY of forgiveness. . . HIS NAME is "YESHUA — IMMANU-EL, GOD with us."

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have assigned it to you for making an atonement for your lives upon the altar; it is the BLOOD, as life, that effects expiation." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 17. 11 Tanakh, Torah]

This is a prophecy of MESSIAH, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL to come. HE would be the INNOCENT SUBSTITUTE. Even as the innocent bulls and goats of the OLD COVENANT ceremonies who "shed their blood" — would die — and by this death the sins of the people would be forgiven. The OMNISCIENT LORD OF HOSTS gave HIS SON, YESHUA, as THE ATONEMENT for the soul when HIS blood was shed for our sin!

On Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), "Aaron shall take two he-goats and shall place lots upon them; one marked for the LORD and the other marked for Azazel (Scapegoat) ...and Aaron shall bring forward the goat designated by lot for the LORD, which he is to offer as a sin offering." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 8 - 9 Tanakh, Torah]

The goat, on which the lot marked for the LORD GOD fell, was slain — its blood carried by the High Priest into the Holy of Holies and placed upon the Mercy Seat. The High Priest had already taken the blood of a bullock into the Holiest for himself. When he returned to the people after their atonement — it was the second time the priest had made his appearance before them! And so it is with the GREATER HIGH PRIEST WHO came once to give HIS OWN blood. After the FATHER'S acceptance of the SACRIFICE, when the sins of the people are forgiven, YESHUA ha'MASHIACH will return at the appointed second time!

"Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the iniquities and transgressions of the Israelites putting them on the head of the goat; and it shall be sent off to the wilderness." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 21 Tanakh, Torah] This Scapegoat (Hebrew: Azazel) would carry the sins of the people far from them; it was a substitute; it was made sin that the people might be excused from the penalty of their sins! YESHUA ha'MASHIACH was the SCAPEGOAT, for HE was the SUBSTITUTE WHO died outside the city of Jerusalem . . . (in the wilderness — "outside the gate" Hebrews 13.12). JESUS of NAZARETH was made sin that we might be made the righteousness of GOD in HIM! HE carried our sins away from us, removing them as far away as the east is from the west. MESSIAH has done more than "cover up" our sins, HE has blotted them out with HIS precious blood; they are to be remembered against us no more! "Much more then, having now been justified by HIS blood, we shall be saved from wrath through HIM. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to GOD through the death of HIS SON, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by HIS life." [Romans 5. 9 - 10]

Our WONDERFUL SAVIOR, by the sacrifice of HIMSELF, has inscribed our names in the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE and we shall never be separated from HIM. No longer is it necessary that a goat or bullock have its blood shed for the remission of sins once every year, for GOD'S LAMB shed HIS blood ONCE FOR ALL. Jew or Gentile who believe in HIM can rejoice that there is a Yom Kippur for time and eternity made possible through the PERFECT KAPPORAH (sacrificial covering) this UNIQUE ONE is Yeshua, THE ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON OF THE LIVING GOD!

Have you found the blood of atonement? "Behold! The LAMB OF GOD WHO takes away the sin of the world!" [John 1. 29] Are you trusting in GOD'S SMITTEN LAMB, the SUPREME SACRIFICE? The LORD MESSIAH YESHUA, JESUS — the only ONE WHO can satisfy your soul!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Welcome Shabbos Shabbason! According to the TORAH, Yom Kippur is called "Shabbos Shabbason" — a day of total rest.
O LORD our GRACIOUS & MERCIFUL GOD, YOU have given us in love this Sabbath Day for holiness and rest, the Day of Atonement for pardon, forgiveness, and atonement that we may, in love, obtain pardon thereon for all our iniquities.
O KING, pardon and forgive our iniquities and restore YOUR people; and let our eyes behold YOUR return in mercy to Zion . Please strengthen the bonds of friendship and fellowship among all the inhabitants of our land. Plant virtue in every soul, and may the love of YOUR HOLY NAME sanctify every home and every heart. Praised are YOU, O LORD, GIVER of peace. We again bless YOU, O LORD, WHOSE NAME is ALL-GOOD and unto WHOM it is becoming to give thanks!
The Shofar is blown 100 times at the end of the Yom Kippur service to signify that the Day of Repentance and introspection has come to an end. "Pitka Tava!" — trusting the "Heavenly note" in your future is a positive one!
Gmar Chatima Tova! (Literally) A good and final sealing. (Idiomatically) May you be inscribed [in the BOOK OF LIFE] for good!)
[There are five areas of physical involvement from which we remove ourselves on Yom Kippur: Eating or drinking; Washing; Applying oils/lotions to the skin; Marital relations; Wearing leather shoes.]
Days of Awe concluded…40th Day of Repentance. . . prepare to meet your GOD!

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Our AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL SAVIOR, by the sacrifice of HIMSELF, has inscribed our names in the BOOK OF LIFE and we shall never be separated from HIM. HalleluYAH!

A SEARCH FOR BLOOD ATONEMENT
The following account has many anonymous authors each told in various ways for Yom Kippur:
One spring evening an elderly Jewish gentleman related the following experience to a gathering of Jews. He said: "This is Passover week among you my Jewish brethren, and as I sat here I was thinking how you will be observing it. You will have put away all leaven from your houses; you will eat the matzoth (unleavened wafers) and the roasted lamb. You will attend the Synagogue Services, and carry out the ritual and directions of the Talmud, but you forget, you have everything but that which YEHOWAH required first of all, HE did not say — "When I see leaven put away; or when I see you eat the matzoth; or the lamb; or go to the synagogue" — but HIS WORD was, "When I see the blood, I will pass over you." [Exodus (Shemot) 12. 13 Tanakh, Torah] Ah, my brethren, you can substitute nothing for this. You must have blood...Blood...BLOOD!

As he repeated this word with increasing emphasis, his black eyes flashed. "Blood! that is an awful word for one who reveres the ancient oracle, and yet has no sacrifice." Turn where he will in THE BOOK, the blood meets him, but let him seek as he may, he cannot find it in the Judaism of the present.

"I was born — he went on — in Israel, nearly 70 years ago. As a child, I was taught to read the Law (Torah), the Prophets (Nevi’im), and the Psalms (Kethuvim). I attended the synagogue and learned Hebrew from the Rabbis early in life. At first I believed what I was told, that ours was the true religion, but as I grew older, and studied the Law more intently, I was struck by the place the blood had in all the ceremonies outlined there, and equally struck by its utter absence in the ritual in which I was brought up."

"Again and again I read in the 12th chapter of Exodus and Leviticus 16 thru 17. The latter chapters especially made me tremble as I thought of the Great Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) and the place the blood had there. Day and night one verse would ring in my ears, "It is the BLOOD that makes atonement for the soul." [Leviticus/Vayikra 17. 11] I knew I had broken the Law. I needed atonement. Year after year, on That Day, I beat my breast as I confessed my need of it, but it was to be made by blood, and there was no blood!

"In my distress, at last, I opened my heart to a learned and respected rabbi. He told me that the ALMIGHTY ONE was angry with HIS people. Jerusalem was in the hands of the Gentiles (this before 1967), the Temple was destroyed, and a Mohammedan mosque was reared up in its place. This is the only spot on earth where we dare shed the blood of sacrifice in accordance with Deuteronomy 12 and Leviticus 17 was desecrated and our nation scattered. That was why there was no blood. GOD HIMSELF had closed the way to carry out the solemn service of the Great Day of Atonement. Now, we must turn to the TALMUD and rest on its instructions. We must trust in the mercy of ALMIGHTY GOD and the merits of the fathers.

"I tried to be satisfied, but could not be. Something seemed to say that the Law was unaltered, even though our Temple was destroyed. Nothing else but BLOOD could atone for the soul. We dare not shed blood for atonement elsewhere than in the place the LORD GOD MOST HIGH had chosen. Then we were left without any atonement at all!

"I was over 30 years of age when I left Israel and came over to Constantinople, with my still unanswered question ever before my mind, and my soul exceedingly troubled about my sins. One night I was walking down one of the narrow streets of that city when I saw a sign telling of a meeting for Jews. Curiosity led me to open the door and go in. Just as I took my seat, I heard a man say, "the blood of YesHUa ha’MASHIACH, His Son cleanses us from all sin." [1 John 1. 7]

"This was my first introduction to Christianity, but I listened breathlessly as the speaker told how HOLY GOD had declared that "without shedding of blood there is no remission" [Hebrews 9. 22], that HE had given HIS SON, the LAMB OF GOD, to die, and all who trusted in HIS blood were forgiven all their iniquities. This was THE MESSIAH of Yeshayah/Isaiah 53 — THE SUFFERING SERVANT of Tehillym/Psalms 22!

"Ah, my brethren, I had found the blood of atonement at last. I trusted it, and now I love to read the NEW COVENANT and see how all the shadows of the Law are fulfilled in MeSSIAH YESHUA. HIS blood has been shed for sinners. It has satisfied OMNIPOTENT GOD, and it is the ONLY MEANS of salvation for either Jew or Gentile."

Have you found the blood of atonement? "Behold! THE LAMB OF GOD WHO takes away the sin of the world!" [John 1. 29] Are you trusting in GOD'S SMITTEN LAMB, the SUPREME SACRIFICE?

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Kol Nidre (All Vows): On this eve of Yom Kippur we will stand in the synagogue and declare our sins, intentional and unintentional, and ask the ALMIGHTY to forgive us, pardon us and grant us atonement. We also recite the Yizkor — ”Remember”…is a special memorial prayer for the departed… it is not only the first word of the prayer, it also represents its overall theme. In this prayer, we implore GOD to remember the souls of our relatives and friends that have passed on.
At this time of renewal of our collective conscience, we should start by loving each other and learn to accept each other, helping them to stand up for GOD’S TRUTH; to accept the responsibility of defending the Promised Land of Israel from its many enemies. Defend us also from our sins of impurity of the lips and foolish speech, of running to do evil, of scoffing, evil speech and arrogant expressions which caused our thoughts to fly to wickedness and dictatorial abuse of power, not only here but throughout the western world.
We must learn to measure our words, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — we should meditate on these things.
Please, LORD GOD OF HOLINESS, give us the patience to await the truth. . . create in us a clean heart and renew an unwavering spirit within us; uphold us by YOUR GENEROUS SPIRIT and keep us ever mindful of our obligations to YOU and to others. We give you our thanks, our praise, and our humble hearts. Amen!
Days of Awe #10 "No matter how many mistakes you make or how slowly you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn't trying." The two most important elements to change are focus and effort, and we can control both. We can keep trying. We can keep growing. We can focus constantly on where we want to go. No matter how small the changes we make, we are still way ahead of where we would have been if we didn't try at all.
Open the door and the Almighty will show us the way through. All He asks us to do is wake up every day and try.
Day 39 of Repentance.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
None of us are immune to the deep pain of not being forgiven.

PRAYER OF ATONEMENT
"O LORD, open my lips, and my mouth shall declare YOUR praises. YOU are blessed, O LORD our GOD and GOD of our fathers, GOD OF ABRAHAM, GOD OF ISAAC, GOD OF JACOB. YOU are the GREAT, MIGHTY & REVERED GOD, the MOST HIGH GOD, WHO bestows loving kindnesses, and possesses all things, WHO remembers the pious deeds of the patriarchs, and in love will bring the Redeemer to their children’s children for YOUR NAME'S sake.

Remember us unto life, O KING, WHO delights in life, and inscribe us in the BOOK OF LIFE, for YOUR OWN sake, O ETERNAL LIVING ONE. O KING, HELPER, SAVIOR & PROTECTOR. Blessed are YOU, O LORD, the SHIELD of Abraham. YOU, O LORD, are mighty forever. YOU quicken the dead, YOU alone are mighty to save.

YOU, O LORD, sustain the living with loving-kindness, quicken the dead with great mercy, support the falling, heal the sick, loose the bound, and keep YOUR promise to them that sleep in the dust. Who is like YOU, LORD of mighty acts, or who resembles YOU, O KING ETERNAL, WHO kills and quickens, and causes salvation to spring forth?

Who is like YOU, FATHER OF MERCY, WHO in mercy remembers YOUR creatures unto life? Yes! Faithful are YOU to quicken the dead. Blessed are YOU, O LORD. YOU are holy and YOUR NAME is holy, and holy beings praise YOU daily. There is none like YOU, INIMITABLE HOLY ONE! Selah

Now, therefore, O LORD our GOD, impose YOUR awe upon all YOUR works, and YOUR dread upon all that YOU have created, that all works may fear YOU and all creatures prostrate themselves before YOU that they may all form a single band to do YOUR will with a perfect heart, even as we know, O LORD our GOD, that dominion belongs to YOU, strength is in YOUR hand, and might in YOUR right hand, and that YOUR NAME is to be feared above all that YOU have created.

Give then glory, O ETERNAL ONE, unto YOUR people, praise to them that fear YOU, hope to them that seek YOU, and free speech to them that wait for YOU, joy to YOUR land, gladness to YOUR Holy City, a flourishing horn to David, YOUR servant, and a clear shining light to the SON OF JESSE, YESHUA ha'MASHIACH, YOUR ANOINTED — speedily and in our days.

Then shall the just also see and be glad, and the upright shall exult, and the pious triumphantly rejoice, while iniquity shall close her mouth, and all wickedness shall be wholly consumed like smoke, when YOU make the dominion of arrogance to pass away from the earth.

YOU, O LORD, shall reign! YOU alone over all Your works on Mount Zion , the dwelling place of YOUR glory, and in Jerusalem , YOUR Holy City — as it is written in YOUR HOLY WORD: "The LORD shall reign forever, your GOD, O Zion, for all generations. Hallelu'YAH." [Psalms (Tehillym) 146. 10 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

YOU, O LORD GOD are holy, and dreaded is YOUR NAME and there is no god beside YOU, as it is written: "The LORD OF HOSTS is exalted by judgment, the HOLY GOD proved holy by righteousness and retribution." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 5. 16 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

YOU, MASTER, have chosen us from all peoples, YOU have loved us and taken pleasure in us, and have exalted us above all tongues; YOU have sanctified us by YOUR commandments, and brought us near unto YOUR services, O LORD our KING, and have called us by YOUR RIGHTEOUS & HOLY NAME. Blessed be our GLORIOUS LORD GOD OMNIPOTENT! Amen"

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
We pray that YOU continue to bestow YOUR blessings on us, our FATHER & KING. Teach us to seek YOU evermore within the sanctuary of our souls, within the tabernacle of YOUR WORD, and in the congregation of YOUR worshipers! May the message of GOD'S WORD and the love of YESHUA ha’MASHIACH the SAVIOR bless your heart and make you fully whole (holy).
Amen
May you be inscribed in the BOOK OF LIFE for good!
Days of Awe #9 "A great attitude becomes a great mood, which becomes a great day, which becomes a great year, which becomes a great life." Zig Ziglar It is far easier to change from a place of joy and abundance than it is from a place of despair and lack. Focus on the good and it will lead to more goodness.
The 38th Day of Repentance.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Under weak and perverted leadership, even the greatest of empires are vulnerable (defenseless, in danger, helpless, at risk) and fall dramatically (completely, totally, severely, noticeably).

ETERNAL WORD
"I will continuously obey YOUR Law, forever and ever." [Psalms (Tehillym) 119. 44 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Psalm 119 is the GREAT SERENADE OF THE WORD for in it are seven decreed declarations that "the WORD is forever!" GOD'S Law is everlasting, and we will keep it eternally. "The LORD exists forever; YOUR WORD stands firm in heaven." [Psalms (Tehillym) 119. 89 Tanakh, Kethuvim] The HOLY WRITTEN WORD of the ALMIGHTY KING OF GLORY will never change; it was waiting to be revealed in HIS time before the creation of the world. It was there and forever will be.

"YOUR decrees are my eternal heritage; they are my heart's delight — I am determined to follow YOUR Laws to the utmost forever...YOUR righteous decrees are eternal; give me understanding, that I might live — I know from YOUR decrees of old that YOU have established them forever...Truth is the essence of YOUR WORD; YOUR just rules are eternal." [Psalms (Tehillym) 119. 111, 112, 144, 152, 160 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

The NEW COVENANT has similar promises, the LORD JESUS said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but MY WORD will no means pass away." [Matthew 24. 35] Peter, quoting the Prophet Isaiah wrote: "The WORD of the LORD endures forever." [1 Peter 1. 25; Isaiah/Yeshayah 40. 8]

Read the PRECIOUS WORD of OMNIPOTENT GOD slowly, deliberately, reverently for there you will gather roses, instead of thorns; find pearls, not pebbles; find love instead of hatred; forgiveness not vengeance; freedom instead of bondage; humility not pride; instead of enmity, reconciliation; instead of death, life, salvation, resurrection and heavenly treasures. Then as we occupy ourselves in this we will find we are also purified as we watch for HIS soon return, and worship HIM for HIS abundant goodness to us.

How very foolish it is for anyone to commit his eternal soul to anything other than the only thing in this world that will last forever, the WRITTEN LIVING WORD OF GOD; its divine manifestation is the revelation and unveiling of the LOVING OMNIPOTENT GOD and the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA, our blessed SAVIOR & REDEEMER!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel !
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Infinite as YOUR power, even so is YOUR love, O LORD OF HOSTS. YOU led us into the way of righteousness and brought us to the light of truth. Therefore, at our lying down and our rising up, we meditate on YOUR Teachings and at all times rejoice in YOUR Laws. In them are true life and length of days. O that YOUR love may never depart from our hearts. Praised are YOU, O LORD, WHO has made us YOUR people.
Days of Awe #8 — "Set a goal so big you can't achieve it until you grow into the person who can." (Anonymous) Change takes time. Don't be afraid to have extraordinary goals and huge plans. If you are committed to the process, you can become the kind of person who is capable of accomplishing those feats that seem way out of reach now.
Day 37 of Repentance.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
When the time comes for you to live, there aren't enough years.

MOSES & THE SERPENT
"The LORD sent fiery serpents (Hebrew: "seraph") against the people. They bit the people and many of the Israelites died. The people came to Moses and said — We sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you. Intercede with the LORD to take away the seraph serpents from us! — And Moses interceded for the people." [Numbers (B'Midvar) 21. 6 - 7 Tanakh, Torah]

These serpents ("seraph" - fiery) were RIGHTEOUS GOD'S judgment on the Israelites because of their sin. Moses was the mediator who interceded before the Holy ONE for help. Only the LOVING MASTER had the remedy for the serpent's bite when they turned and confessed that they had sinned. "Then the LORD said to Moses — Make a seraph figure and mount it on a standard. And if anyone who is bitten LOOKS at it, he shall recover. Moses made a copper (nechosheth) serpent and mounted it on a standard; and when anyone was bitten by a serpent, he would look at the copper serpent and recover." [Numbers (B'Midvar) 21. 8 - 9 Tanakh, Torah] The Hebrew word, "nechosheth" should be interpreted copper not brass. The MASTER CREATOR deals with pure metals, and brass is an alloy, a mixture of zinc and copper — therefore brass would be a wrong translation here.

GOD OMNISCIENT provided a substitute, the serpent of copper, for Israel so they would not die from the poison of the serpent's bite. "Moses made a copper serpent and mounted it on a standard; and when anyone was bitten by a serpent, he would look at the copper serpent and recover." [Numbers (B'Midvar) 21. 9 Tanakh, Torah] The ALL-WISE GOD gave the instructions in order that by means of the copper serpent, Israel would be saved. GOD'S WAY is the only plan that must be obeyed in order to be saved.

The Israelites were simply to "LOOK" upon the serpent to be healed. This look required faith to believe. Their faith prompted them to obey instructions of the LORD OF HOSTS and were delivered, forgiven, healed and saved.

YESHUA ha'MASHIACH is the wonderful provision for the people of the world. HOLY SCRIPTURES declare that every person is a sinner and needs salvation, deliverance, and healing. Before the foundations of the world, GOD ordained the "ANSWER — SOLUTION — CURE — REMEDY" which HE would provide. It was not man's plan, for man's way is not GOD'S Way.

The standard upon which the copper form of a serpent hung, prophesies of Golgotha 's Slaughter Place. "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the SON OF MAN be lifted up." [John 3. 14] The serpent is symbolic of sin. In this instance, it pointed to MESSIAH YESHUA WHO was the SIN-OFFERING, the PERFECT REMEDY for sin. GOD'S righteous judgment for sin (represented in the copper), was received by the LORD JESUS...that judgment should have been ours! "WHO HIMSELF bore our sins in HIS OWN BODY on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by WHOSE stripes you were healed." [1 Peter 2. 24] GOD made YESHUA ha'MASHIACH to be sin for us. [Isaiah/Yeshayah 50. 5 - 6; John 3. 14 - 16; Galatians 3. 13] JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH bore our sins in HIS OWN BODY on the cross, "HE (GOD THE FATHER) made HIM (GOD THE SON) WHO knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of GOD in HIM (MESSIAH YESHUA)." [2 Corinthians 5. 21]

"As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the SON OF MAN be lifted up; that whoever believes in HIM should not perish but have eternal life." [John 3. 14 - 15] The REDEEMER OF ISRAEL is the "SON OF MAN" — the "SAVIOR OF THE WORLD." As the fiery serpents were a judgment on Israel because of her sin — so all people are under judgment of death because of sin. Just as there was no human help against the serpent's bite, so there is no human remedy for sin.

When our forefathers looked to the LORD GOD OF HEAVEN and confessed their sin, they received deliverance. When we confess that we are sinners, admitting our sinfulness and turn to the LORD JESUS for help, we receive forgiveness for salvation unto righteousness. As Moses was commanded to substitute a serpent of copper lifting it up on a standard, so JESUS, Israel 's MESSIAH & SAVIOUR of all mankind, was lifted up on Golgotha 's Cross as a Substitute, the Antidote for the poison of sin's venom (the serpent's bite). The LORD MESSIAH YESHUA is GOD'S HOLY REMEDY, GOD'S DELIVERANCE, GOD'S SALVATION & HEALING for us.

The Israelites only had to look and live. All who look to our LORD YESHUA will live eternally (be delivered and healed from sin's venom)! The KEEPER OF THE VINEYARD, the LORD JESUS said — "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to MYSELF." [John 12. 32] Look and Live! Behold the KING OF GLORY!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
As we bid farewell to Sabbath we pray. . .O LORD GOD ETERNAL, be a SHELTER for YOUR people, and the STRENGTH of the children of Israel , that they shall all know YOU. Be gracious to us; we have waited for YOU. Be our secure arm each morning and our Salvation in the times of trouble. Keep us ever mindful of YOU that we serve YOU with all our being. Humbly, we thank YOU for being our GREAT & MIGHTY GOD!
Be a witness and a blessing to others during the week that the LIGHT of YESHUA shine through you.
Days of Awe #7 — "If you believe breaking is possible, believe fixing is possible." Rabbi Nachman of Breslov We don't need to cover up or deny our mistakes. We fall. Our lives can sometimes feel broken. We need to remember to focus on fixing the brokenness instead of allowing it to lead to hopelessness.
Day 36 of Repentance.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
For every problem, there is an opportunity.

STAND STILL
"It is not for you to fight this battle; STAND STILL, wait, and see your deliverance by the LORD, O Judah and Jerusalem ; do not fear or be dismayed by this great multitude; go forth to meet them tomorrow and the LORD will be with you." [2 Chronicles (Dibre Hayamin Bet) 20. 17 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

The Ammorites, Mobites and Edomites had organized a great multitude seeking to destroy Judah under King Jehoshaphat. However, the king and his people came together to "seek the LORD GOD" in prayer for deliverance, and the SPIRIT OF THE SOVEREIGN ONE spoke through Jahaziel assuring them that "the battle is GOD'S, not yours." [2 Chronicles (Dibre Hayamin Bet) 20. 15 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Then the INFINITELY MAJESTIC CREATOR sent the answer as to how the battle was to be won, the strange instructions were "Stand Still (Hebrew: yatsav)." Just watch the MERCIFUL MASTER'S wondrous hand accomplish it! And HE did. All their enemies were constrained by the LORD to fight and destroy each other, without the Israelites having to fight at all. In the same way, at the Red Sea when everything looked hopeless, "Moses said to the people — Have no fear! Stand Still! and witness the deliverance which the LORD will work for you today." [Exodus (Shemot) 14. 13 Tanakh, Torah] So the whole multitude obeyed and all Pharaoh's armies were overthrown in the middle of the Sea.

In Isaiah's day, when Israel was tempted to call on pagan Egypt for help against pagan Assyria, the HOLY ONE said concerning Israel 's armies. "Truly, I call her Rahab-Hem-Shebeth (her strength is to sit still)." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 30. 7 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

As the ship was being beaten, thrashed and defeated in the storm, and the terrified sailors were about to abandon the boat, when Paul warned, "Unless these men stay in the ship, you cannot be saved." [Acts 27. 31] So they stayed (stood still), and the ALMIGHTY ONE spared every man.

When we have done all we can and the situation seems hopeless, this is the time to "sit still" and trust our INVINCIBLE GOD to work it out in HIS OWN good way. "Only you must not rebel against the LORD. Have no fear then of the people of the land, for they shall be as food for our consumption; their protection has departed from them, but the LORD is with us. Have no fear of them!" [Numbers (B'Midvar) 14. 9 Tanakh, Torah]

The unique LORD GOD SUPREME specializes in things thought impossible. Do you have any rivers you think are un-crossable? "Be still, and know that I am ELOHEY; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The LORD YEHOWAH T’SEVAOT (LORD GOD OF HOSTS) is with us; the ELOHEY of Yaacov is our FORTRESS." [Psalms (Tehillym) 46. 10 - 11 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Sha’alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Welcoming Shabbat Shuvah — Sabbath of Return. While this breath of life is in me, HOLY LORD of all worlds, I worship YOU. Help us, O GOD, to banish from our hearts all vain glory, pride of worldly possessions, and self-sufficient leaning on our own reason.

A Story for Yom Kippur
One Yom Kippur, a rabbi imagined standing before the ALMIGHTY WHO asked him: “Have you studied all you should?” The rabbi answered, “No.”
“Have you prayed all you should?” Again he answered, “No.”
“Have you done all the good deeds you should?” This time, too, he said, “No.”
“You have told the truth – the LORD of all praise proclaimed, “and for the sake of truth you will be forgiven.”
Shabbat Hagadol...have a Blessed Sabbath!

Days of Awe #6 — "Thinking ‘I can't’…is idolatry. If the ALMIGHTY ONE helps us, we can change the world. And if HE doesn't help, we can't do anything." Rabbi Noah Weinberg We limit ourselves by walls of false beliefs that we hide behind. When we have faith, we can let go of who we imagined ourselves to be and become who we really are.
Day 35 of Repentance.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Regard as enormous the little wrong you did to others, and as trifling the great wrong done to you. [The Talmud]

PREPARED HEARTS
"For Ezra had dedicated himself to study the TEACHING OF THE LORD, and to do it, and to teach Laws and rules to Israel ." [Ezra 7. 10 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

To seek, obey, and then teach others the life-giving words of the ALMIGHTY as found in HOLY SCRIPTURE does not come natural to anyone.  As with Ezra as our example, we must prepare our hearts.

The Hebrew word "kuwn" means prepared, be firmly established, securely determined, to stand erect  — therefore showing a special effort being made.  "The LORD OF HOSTS, the JUST JUDGE, tests the thoughts, mind, and the heart." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 11. 20 Tanakh, Nevi'im]   However, no one is naturally inclined to stand up for the WORD OF GOD.  For by nature man's heart is "most devious...it is perverse, and desperately wicked, who can fathom it?" [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 17. 9 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

However, Ezra did, in the court of a pagan king and in the midst of the enemies of GOD'S people in a far country, and among those of his own nation who broke faith and fell from grace.  Ezra prepared his heart, aligning it in unyielding faith on the Laws and Promises of the HOLY ONE.   Because he did, he could say with certainty, "thanks to the care of the LORD my GOD, I was encouraged as HIS hand was upon me." [Ezra 7. 28 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

In contrast, King Rehoboam's rebellion and sin led to the dividing of Israel into two kingdoms and finally into the captivity.  These judgments came because, unlike Ezra, Rehoboam "did what was wrong, for he had not set his heart to seek the LORD." [2 Chronicles (Dibre Hayamin Bet)12. 14 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Therefore, our hearts need to be prepared to seek GOD and HIS WORD.  But, how do we get them wisely prepared?  First, we must come to the LIVING GOD in true humility, humbly and meekly — "LORD, YOU will listen to the desire of those lowly humbled, YOU will make their hearts firm, YOU will incline YOUR ear to hear." [Psalms (Tehillym) 10. 17 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

CREATOR OMNIPOTENT GOD alone is the ONE WHO can enable us to prepare our hearts!  "The preparations of the heart is man's, but the answer of the tongue, depends on the LORD." [Proverbs (Mishle) 16. 1 Tanakh, Kethuvim]   We are compelled to prepare our hearts to seek and serve Omnipotent GOD, if we humbly call on Him, He desires to do the enabling.

The promise of the EVER-FAITHFUL GOD stands, even to those who have been disbursed among the nations, though they have been unfaithful, and it includes all who desire to find HIM — "But IF you search for the LORD your GOD, you will find HIM, if only you diligently seek HIM with all your heart and soul." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 4. 29 Tanakh, Torah]  There is no GREATER TREASURE to be found.

Sha’alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
When things around you appear dark and terrifying, hold on to the promises of the LORD GOD. HE is in complete control, and will never fail us — it is all for the good…ha’kol l’tova.
Days of Awe #5— "Your goals don't care how you feel" (Anonymous) We won't always feel motivated. Sometimes we’ll feel tired and want to push off our goals until tomorrow. But tomorrow we may not "feel" like working either, and we are not promised another day. One of the biggest myths of change is that we need to feel motivated to move forward. It's the moving forward that really matters; the motivation will follow our actions. Motivation is wonderful; discipline is critical.
Day 34 of Repentance.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
"Hope" is the only medicine for the miserable.

THE WAY
"JESUS said — I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. No one comes to the FATHER except through ME." [John 14. 6]

This verse is clearly one of the most loved verses in HOLY SCRIPT.   Intensely emphatic it states that there is no other way to come to the HEAVENLY FATHER except through the LORD JESUS.  And, there is no truth other then what is found and centered on YESHUA.  In HIM alone is eternal life bestowed to the believer through faith.

All who teach otherwise are "thieves and robbers" of the soul, for MESSIAH YESHUA alone is "THE DOOR." [John 10. 8 - 9]  The ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD is the GREAT SHEPHERD of the sheep, the only DOOR or WAY to heaven.  The LORD JESUS is "THE LIGHT of the world" [John 8. 12] to a world otherwise blackened by sin's ominous darkness.  "For it is GOD WHO commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the Glory of GOD in the face of JESUS CHRIST." [2 Corinthians 4. 6]  The BELOVED SON OF GOD, YESHUA ha’MASHIACH, is the unique MAGNIFICENT ONE WHO is "the brightness of HIS (GOD THE FATHER) glory and the EXPRESS IMAGE of HIS PERSON." [Hebrews 1. 3]

The SON OF MAN, the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA, is "THE BREAD of Life from GOD...the LIVING BREAD that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this BREAD, he will live forever; and the BREAD that I shall give is MY flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world." [John 6. 48, 51]   JESUS, the MIGHTY I AM , the LIVING WORD OF GOD, is the only ETERNAL LIFE-SUSTAINING FOOD for the hungry soul.

The HORN OF DAVID, YESHUA ha’MASHIACH is the revealed "LIVING WATER."  HE bids, "if anyone thirsts, let him come to ME and drink. Whoever believes in ME, as the SCRIPTURE has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." [John 7. 37 - 38]  Only the LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH can satisfy the thirsty soul.

The ANOINTED ONE is the "TRUE VINE" in WHOM we must abide or we are worthless and will surely fail.  "I am the TRUE VINE...I am the VINE, you are the branches. He who abides in ME, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without ME you can do nothing." [John 15. 1, 5]

Evidence of the SCRIPTURES make it abundantly clear that there is salvation in none other "for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." [Acts 4. 12]  "Everyone who invokes the NAME OF THE LORD shall escape (be saved)." [Joel (Yoel) 2. 32 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

The LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH is the ALL-SUFFICIENT WAY, the PERFECT WAY, the ONLY WAY and all who want to come, can come to GOD THE FATHER through HIM. There is no other way, but through the PRECIOUS LORD JESUS CHRIST.  How wondrously amazing!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Observing the Tzom Gedaliah (Fast of Gedaliah — governor of Judea) in commemoration of the end of Jewish rule in the Holy Land at the time of the first destruction of the First Holy Temple some 2,500 years ago.  The fast day is observed every year on 4th of Tishri (begins at dawn).  The events are described in the HOLY BIBLE. [see 2 Kings/Melakhim Bet 25.25–26; Jeremiah/Yirmeyah 40 – 41]  The Fast Day was establish and called the "Fast of the Seventh." [see Zechariah 8.19 — Tishri is the 7th month of the Hebrew calendar.]  Gedaliah was probably killed on Rosh ha'Shana, but the fast was pushed off due to the holiday.
Story of Gedalia:  After the destruction of the First Temple some 2,500 years ago, the majority of the Jewish people were exiled to Babylon . The conqueror, Nebuchadnezzar, eventually eased some of his harsh restrictions and allowed some Jews to remain in the Land of Israel . He even appointed a righteous Jew named Gedalia to administer the territory. Gradually, more Jews who had escaped from the horrors of the war into neighboring countries began to return to their homes in Israel . Gedalia was realistic about the limitations of Jewish sovereignty. He understood that for their own self-preservation, the Jews in Israel needed to cooperate fully with the nation who had conquered their Land.
But this political subservience was intolerable to some Jews. A man named Yishmael ben Netaniah, spurred on by jealousy and hatred of foreign influence, arose and ignored the King of Babylon. On the 3rd of Tishrei, Yishmael treacherously killed Gedalia as well as many other Jews and Babylonians.
The TALMUDIC TRACTATE ROSH ha'SHANA equates Gedaliah's murder with the destruction of the Holy Temple , citing the fact that fasts were instituted to commemorate both events.
HEAVENLY FATHER, teach us to emulate YOUR OWN grace and mercy. Cause YOUR TRUTH to fall upon our hearts like seed upon fertile ground. And, may we learn to love YOUR Law ever more deeply and to find in it the beauty of holiness. Remind us that YOU are the CENTER of our joy; thank YOU again for YOUR great love and kindness to us. Amen!
L’Shana Tova!  Have a happy, healthy, challenging and rewarding new year!

Delrifkah: HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. - Page 6 Empty Re: Delrifkah: HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Many a man who does not fear GOD wraps himself in a Prayer Shawl. [-Abraham ibn Esra]

TRADITION OR TRUTH
"This shall be to you a Law forever for all time: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, Tishri, you shall practice self-denial; and you shall do no manner of work, neither the citizen nor the alien who resides among you. For on this day atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you of all your sins; you shall be clean before the LORD." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 29 - 30 Tanakh, Torah]

The "Days of Awe (Yamim Nora’im)" refers to the ten days between Yom Teruah (Day of Trumpets/Rosh ha’Shanah) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) which can alter the sentence of one’s fate if a person repents of his sin, makes restitution, and returns to the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Thus, the goal of Yamim Nora’im is to return (teshuvah) to the BLESSED ONE with their whole heart, soul and might. This results in DIVINE forgiveness and at-one-ment with GOD which is only possible through MESSIAH'S forgiveness, extended to all those who embrace HIS "once-for-all" sacrifice for our sin.

Among the many preparations for the awesome day of Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), and perhaps one of the most important, is the seeking of forgiveness from friends, relatives and acquaintances — for actual wrongs done or to soothe bad feelings that may have arisen during the year. This is one aspect of our behavior that cannot be forgiven by the Almighty unless forgiveness is first sought from those we have wronged. Another custom practiced on the eve of Yom Kippur is to bathe (mikvah) so we become pure in preparation for services and prayer.

"I have forgiven" are the eternal words spoken by the FAITHFUL, TRUE & LIVING GOD on the tenth of the month of Tishri, after Moses prayed and fasted for forty days on behalf of the Jewish people. This day became Yom ha'Kippurim, the Day of Atonement, for all generations. Any time a Jew (or Gentile) sincerely repents, he is forgiven. But, this day has a special meaning because of the forgiveness granted to the Jews on this day.

Yom Kippur and all the laws pertaining to it started before sunset, as do all the holidays, with candle-lighting by the women of the house. A 24-hour (yahrzeit) candle is also lit in the house in honor of the holiday, as it is a day of fasting and we cannot honor it with a special festive meal. The light also reminds us of the Second Tablets that were given to the Jewish people on this day, for light symbolizes the TORAH.

On Yom Kippur, no work (melachos) may be done and it is referred to as Shabbos Shabbason — a total rest day just like Sabbath. In fact, the doubled wording teaches us that even if Yom Kippur comes out on Sabbath, the laws of Yom Kippur are observed on that day and are not postponed, unlike other fast days when they occur on Shabbos.

On Yom Kippur, five activities are specifically prohibited: Eating and drinking, anointing oneself with perfumes or oils, and washing (for pleasure), wearing leather shoes, and marital relations. Men go to the Synagogue (Shul) wearing white garments called kittels — and women often dress in light colors or white, which symbolizes purity.

The evening service begins with the chanting of Kol Nidrei (all vows) which is intended to nullify in advance all vows and promises which Jews have been forced to make, or have made hastily in emergencies of sorrow or passion. During each main prayer, we say the "Viduy (confession - "we have sinned!")" — beating the heart with the right hand at each phrase as we enumerate all the sins we may have committed and ask GOD OF HOSTS, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL for forgiveness. The Viduy is phrased in the plural ("we have sinned!"), for all Jews and Gentiles are considered — one body — and we are all responsible for one another.

One of the unique prayers of Yom Kippur is the Avodah section in the Musaf Prayer, which describes in detail the great and awesome service performed on Yom Kippur by the Priests in the Holy Temple . This service was highlighted by the entry of the High Priest into the Holy of Holies, the place where the original tablets of the Ten Commandments were kept in the Ark of the Covenant. Only on this one day a year, and only after much preparation, was the High Priest alone allowed to enter. Described are his preparations, the service, and the exciting conclusion — when the Jewish people knew they were granted forgiveness. [Leviticus/Vayikra 16]

In these present times, Jews everywhere feel that by fasting and repenting for twenty-four hours in obedience to GOD'S righteous commandment, they are forgiven of all their iniquities and their names are written in the BOOK OF LIFE. Although they no longer have a Temple , nor a high priest, and no sacrifice, they are so convinced of the need of an atonement, that rather than confess that they have absolutely none, they teach that repentance and the day itself will atone for all sin. [Hilchoth T'shuvah c.i 2.] But, the LORD GOD stressed, "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have assigned it to you for making AN ATONEMENT for your lives upon the altar; it is the BLOOD, as life, that makes expiation for the soul." [Leviticus/Vayikra 17. 11 Tanakh, Torah] For this reason, blood must be shed.

As believers in the LORD YESHUA, we know that we have a GREATER HIGH PRIEST and HIS precious blood has been shed for sinners. YESHUA ha'MASHIACH is our KIPPUR (Covering, Atonement). HE is the only means of salvation for both Jew or Gentile and forgiveness is an eternal gift. "Seeing then that we have a GREAT HIGH PRIEST who has passed through the heavens, JESUS, the SON OF GOD, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a HIGH PRIEST WHO cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." [Hebrews 4. 14 - 16] "For such a HIGH PRIEST was fitting for us, WHO is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; WHO does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for HIS OWN sins and then for the people's, for this HE did once for all when HE offered up HIMSELF." [Hebrews 7. 26 - 27] HalleluYAH! Our GREATER HIGH PRIEST, JESUS, has done it all . . . the price is paid in full; and we, who believe, are bought back by HIS perfect atonement.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel !
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
As we celebrate Yamym Noraym (High Holy Days) — May GOD give us the kindness to hear with compassion, to offer support, loving comfort, and care. May HE give us the courage to do what is needed, the wisdom to choose what is right and most fair...give us the vision to see what is possible; the faith that will help pave the way for a present that is hopeful, a future that is peaceful — give us the heart to bring joy to each day. May Rosh ha’Shanah mark a new beginning for you. . . through a year blessed with goodness and promise through MESSIAH YESHUA, the KING of Glory. Amen!
Shana Tova! May you have a year filled with meaning and purpose. . . happiness will surely follow.
Days of Awe / Day 32 of Repentance.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
"Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her! Join in her jubilation, all you who mourned over her — that you may suck from her breast consolation to the full, that you may draw from her bosom glory to your delight." [Isaiah/Yeshayah 66. 10 – 11 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

ROSH HA’SHANA PRAYER
Our prayer for you and your family on this Feast Day of Yom Teruah/Rosh ha’Shanah is that ALMIGHTY GOD, blessed be HE and blessed be HIS NAME, will make the coming days of this year, 5777, happy ones...
...Not by shielding us from all sorrow and pain, but by strengthening us to bear it if and when it comes.
...Not by making our path easy, but in making us strong enough to tread any path. Not by granting unbroken sunshine, but by keeping our face bright even in the shadows.
...Not by making our life always pleasant, but in showing us where MESSIAH and HIS cause needs us most; and by making us zealous to do HIS perfect will.
...Not by keeping us from conflict and war, but by bringing us off every field of battle more than conquerors through the LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH WHO loves us most.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
The Rosh ha’Shana prayers — longer, more melodious, and more intense and inspirational than usual — concentrate on GOD'S KINGSHIP and HIS judgment of all creatures. "Our PRECIOUS HEAVENLY FATHER, we have no king but YOU. Help us for YOUR NAME’S sake. Grant us a blessed new year, annul all evil decrees against us, annul the plots of our enemies, frustrate the designs of our foes, rid us of tyrants, rid us of pestilence, sword, famine, captivity, sin and destruction. Forgive and pardon all our sins. Help us return to YOU fully repentant. Send complete healing to the sick; remember us with favor; hasten our deliverance. Exalt YOUR people, Israel and those who are called by YOUR NAME everywhere. Hear us our INCREDIBLE REDEEMER, show us mercy and compassion, accept our prayer with favor and mercy. Do not turn us away unanswered. Remember that we are dust. Have pity for us and our children; act for those slain for YOUR HOLY NAME who were slaughtered for YOUR unity — who went through fire and water; act for YOUR sake if not for ours. Answer us though we have no deeds to plead our cause. Save us with mercy and loving-kindness. And, make us careful to bless, praise and thank YOU all the days of our life. Amen!"
May you enter each day with joy in your hearts and confidence that ALMIGHTY GOD, in HIS mercy, will continue to use us as HIS messenger of the GOOD NEWS to this needy world. May it be a year where we do good to others; a year full of blessings of health, happiness, and peace.
Wishing all of you a blessed year – 5777 "The LORD your GOD cares; the eyes of the LORD your GOD are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year." [Deuteronomy 11:12]
Honey dripped Rosh ha’Shana wishes to the apple of our eyes – our beloved friends/family.
Chag Semayah — Good Holy Days!
Days of Awe - Day 31 of Repentance.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.
