The oneness of God - logical or actual?

Romans 3:30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by
faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

Christianity is considered a monotheistic religion [one God] so also is
Islam and Judaism while we have religions like Hinduism which are
polytheistic [many gods]. When someone tries to question the logical
existence of many gods then they immediately claim all of these 330million
gods are united in nature thus there is only one god. When people make such
claims I love to throw questions like why do they carry weapons that are
targeted against each other if they are of one nature; and they do not have
answers.

From the top, Christianity looks very clear about its belief but as one
goes deeper the debate has not died and lots of questions are not answered.
This is primarily because the beliefs are based on the teaching of people
and less on what scriptures say.

In the start the Apostles were very clear of the oneness of God and about
the relationship between God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit.
They knew the difference between God the Son and Son of God, between Jesus
Christ and YHWH [which is an ideogram meaning ‘Behold the Hand Behold the
Nail’]. In 330AD came the theory of Arianism which was promoted by a person
named Arius. The word Arian come from the Greek word meaning man and it
concentrates on the human factor of Jesus Christ and how He was subordinate
to the Father, later after the council of Nicaea came the theory of Trinity
which speaks of 3 distinct beings having one nature. This belief started by
the Catholic Church still continues in the Believer Churches (council of
Nicaea was presided by Emperor Constantine and Trinity was confirmed by the
2nd Council of Constantinople also presided by the then Emperor Constantine
IV).

My Bible word study [going into the meaning of each Hebrew and Greek word]
started when I wanted to understand this relationship between Father, Son
and Spirit. Over the years this mystery was not so much a mystery when the
Lord started to reveal it through His Word. What is the mystery is how man
started building the confusion which exists. It is no wonder that Jesus
prevented the evil spirits [fallen angels] from revealing to man who He is
(Mark 3:11-12).

People build bridges between Word understanding and Worldly understanding,
and this is where the confusion starts. At times I thank God that I was in
the Catholic Church and was under its deception of lies; it was the opening
of my eyes to its lies that caused me to be totally Sola Scriptura
[Scripture only]. Today even a blank paper from this Church is under my
suspicious eye for I do not trust it at all.

Truth is truth when uncompromised, the moment we compromise the truth it no
longer remains truth. The Word of God is perfect in every way and we cannot
ignore even a word of it. It is like a net which interconnects into one
understanding. Let us not make the Word of God into Words of Gods. Let us
allow the Spirit of Truth reveal the Word unto us.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are God and there is none other than You. Bible says no being has
seen the Father other than the Son and yet it says God dwelt amongst man as
Christ. Lord we pray the Spirit of the Son given to us reveals who You are
to your people. May they know You alone are God and there is only one God.
Reveal to them the relationship between the Son, the Holy Spirit and the
Father. May they experience the power in your Name, the Name that was in
Christ...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Can a Child inherit?

Galatians 4:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child,
differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

Whenever I discuss scriptures and about the Kingdom of God, I find many do
not like to go deeper into the understanding of it. They tell me to talk of
only the good pleasing things of the Bible. They think God is all about
love, forgiveness, compassion.

If God is all about love, forgiveness and compassion then why did He give
the Law, the commandments are they for entertainment? Why does the Bible
talk of Judgment Day if all are forgiven for everything? If God is all
about love and forgiveness then why did He create Hell? Who are the goats
and why are they separated from the sheep and why do only the sheep enter
Heaven?

People do not understand the meaning of Righteousness and Holiness? In
Heaven the Angels do not worship God by shouting out Love, Love, Love but
worship God by shouting Holy, Holy, Holy.

In today’s message Paul talks of how children are as good as servants even
though they own the property. Only when we mature do we become rightful
owners who can exercise his or her rights over the inheritance. Bible says
only Sons of God inherit (this includes females who mature in spirit) the
Kingdom of God, meaning will enter Heaven. Bible also says only those who
are led by the Spirit of God become Sons of God.

Just believing is not sufficient; if that was the case then the Holy Spirit
and our baptism in the Spirit of God would not be necessary. Jesus would
have not left us and ascended to make way for us to receive His Spirit
unless He knew the importance of us receiving His Spirit.

Transformation is necessary and transformation comes by the Word and by the
Spirit who reveals the Word. Jesus said unless we become His Disciples [not
just Believers] we will not know the Truth and the Truth will not set us
free. Jesus also said it is His Spirit [Spirit of Truth] who will reveal
the Truth.

The Lord says in the OT, not by His power or by His strength but only by
His Spirit.

Let us not be deceived by people who say being children of God is
sufficient, it would mount to owning a house but not having the key to
enter it.

Let us mature in the spirit by our walk in the Lord and by the revelation
of the Word through the Holy Spirit [Spirit of Truth].

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You are a Righteous and Holy Lord. Lord we pray we do
not let your mercy and love make us forget You are righteous and holy. We
pray we understand the purpose of your love and your mercy and not abuse it
by taking it for granted...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 5:21-30

Matthew 7:21-24

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at
nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of
Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:7-12
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth
will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with
the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his
coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and
signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they
should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had
pleasure in unrighteousness.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide
you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he
shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Romans 8:13-14
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the
Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Laboring in the Lord

Colossians 1:28,29 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every
man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh
in me mightily.

The Word of God is projected as a double edge sword because it cuts in two
areas. Scripture says it separates the bone from the marrow. Bone
symbolizes character and marrow the spirit.

Eve was made taking a bone of Adam to show she was a representation of
human character; it is for this reason man represents Christ and woman
represents man in a man-woman relationship; in spirit both are in the image
of God. Another example of bone-character is, although Jesus was bruised so
much as to be not recognized as a human yet none of His bones were broken,
this was to show that His character was always maintained and never
bruised.

Bible says life is in the blood and blood is created by the marrow shows
our natural life comes from our spirit life which is symbolized as marrow.
Today we see medical science has suddenly woken up to the wonders of stem
cell from the bone marrow of how it can do great wonders in any area of
healing or tissue / organ regeneration.

Scripture says the sword works in the joint of the bones specifying the
Word works in the working of our character. So if we are in the Word then
there has to be change in our character. In today’s message we see Paul
stating that as he delivers the word to build people the same Word also
works in him.

Any minister of the Word, be it a Pastor, Preacher, Prophet, Teacher,
Apostle, Healer or Worship leader if he or she is not growing in spirit and
changing in character then there is no way the people he or she is
ministering to are expected to change. The change has to reflect in both.

So those who labor in the Lord should introspect themselves to see what
kind of work they are doing. If they do not see change in them then they
should not expect change amongst those they are working with.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You Lord are Holy and Righteous and no corrupt
being can dwell before You. You Lord removed man from your presence so that
You can restore man to become an incorruptible being, so as to bring man
back into your presence. Lord we pray we understand the importance of
Fruits of the Spirit and work towards restoring them so that we can be
restored to You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than
any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and
spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts
and intents of the heart.

Numbers 9:12 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any
bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep
it.

Psalms 34:20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

John 19:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be
fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1 Peter 1:4,23
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not
away, reserved in heaven for you,
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the
word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Why we compete or envy each other?

Galatians 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one
another, envying one another.

Yesterday we had received a message on how people compete with each other
instead of self-competition. I had spoken of the carnal aspect of the
competition but in today’s message the Lord is touching on the deeper
reason of why they compete.

Today’s message talks of Christians provoking and envying each other. The
Greek word translated as provoking is a compound word meaning to challenge
[call another] in sense of competing, the word translated as envy comes
from the root word to corrupt or destroy or tarnish.

When in public ‘Men of God’ / Preachers will sweet talk and praise each
other but in private one will see a drastic different face where they
belittle each other. This unchristian behavior comes because as today’s
scripture says they seek their own glory more than the Lord’s glory..

God is not a greedy God when He says glory belongs to Him. We need to
understand the depth of the statement when Jesus who was so perfect as man
yet instructed a man not to refer to Him as holy [good in sense of being
perfect] for only the Father is Holy.

True holiness cannot be attended at all in the flesh. Like we are marked
for righteousness so also we are marked for holiness, we are called a
righteous and holy people even though we are far from having it. When we as
humans in the flesh seek glory we anger God and that is why we face His
wrath. Like with the Israelites who tested God’s patience we also do that.

Bible says God is slow to anger, it does not say He does not get angry. So
let us test His patience by seeking our glory. Let us always be humble
realizing what we are and who actually works through us. Let us not think
we do things but know it is God who works through us.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Holy God. In Heaven they worship You by calling You Holy,
Holy, Holy, for You alone are Holy. Lord we pray we understand holiness and
do not seek glory when we are in the flesh. It is in You alone we will be
glorified. Lord may we learn to be humble and glorify You alone...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet
before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets,
that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their
reward.

Mark 10:17-18
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and
kneeled to him, and asked him, Good [perfect/holy] Master, what shall I do
that I may inherit eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good
but one, that is, God.

Psalms 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and
plenteous in mercy.

John 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and
said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may
glorify thee:

John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the
glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Rome seated on seven heads and ten horns

Acts 18:2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come
from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded
all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.

In today message we see initially when Christianity started it was
considered a sect of Judaism and Rome drove all including Jews out of Rome.
In my recent conversation with Christians I was surprised to know how most
Christians have so little knowledge about the atrocities exercised by Rome
(Roman Catholic Church) on Christians. How this Church killed (martyred)
more Christians than all religions (including Islam) or kings put together
did.

People are told the term ‘Catholic’ means ‘universal’ therefore it is the
mother church, they are also told this church was founded by the Apostles
(Peter), both are not true. The word Catholic comes from the Greek word
katholikos. The Greek word kata means in respect ‘of whole’ and this term
was used by Church father Ignatius of Antioch. When he wrote the word
katholikos he did not refer to that denomination but to the whole church in
general. In 380 AD Cyril of Jerusalem used the term Catholic to the Church
of Rome to identify it from other Christian sects that started form during
that time.

This Church claims the Apostle Peter as the main founder of this Church
(first Pope), if we are to believe this than we need to stop believing the
Bible. The book of Acts as recorded by Luke speaks of the important events
between 30AD to 67AD and no place does it say Peter visited Rome while it
peaks of Paul visiting Rome and evangelizing in Rome. It records Peter as
mostly being in Jerusalem. Paul in his other letters confirms that it was
the Holy Spirit who set Peter to look after the Jewish (born) Christians
and Paul to look after the Gentile (born) Christian.

The early Church was not looked after by any one person including Peter. In
Galatians Paul records it was 5 (Peter, John, James, Paul and Barnabas) who
overlooked the administration of the overall Church. Peter, John and James
overlooked the Jewish born Christians, Paul and Barnabas looked after the
remaining. Between 90AD to 300AD Christians were publically executed and
only underground Churches existed, so no global administration existed.

In 300AD (approx.) the RC Church was formed by the Emperor of Rome when he
made the Church at Rome as the global center and made the bishop of Rome
its global spiritual head. In the initial years itself this Church attacked
the Bible (NT) by translating it into Latin which was the language spoken
by the elite and tried to destroy all copies of Kone Greek a common man
spoken language. People who possessed a copy of the Bible (NT) were put to
death.

In 500AD the then Pope Gregory ordered killing of Christians who refused to
declared Mary as ‘Mother of God’ (this event indirectly led to the
formation of Islam). Mass killings (genocides) of Christians were common
thing during the Reformation Movement (approx. 1550AD). During the dark
ages (400AD-1500AD) the heads of this Church did things which cannot be
publically discussed. At times it had more than 1 Pope and they fought each
other like gangsters killing people for power. Bible says this RC Church
tried its best to destroy Christianity and drove it into the wilderness for
1260 years before it came back.

Bible in book of Revelation says the Church of Satan is seated on 7 head
and 10 horns and we see Rome is founded on seven hills and by ten kingdoms
coming together. Bible also says in an hour (very short period) this Church
of Babylon (mother of all fornications) will fall and the death of the
martyrs will be revenged.

Let us discern the teachings of this church and keep away from its ways. We
are called to minister to those who are deceived by this Church so that
they can be saved. Let us not be fooled to believe they are Christians.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You are the Creator. All things are by You and for
You. Lord we pray You open our eyes to the truth so that we discern
everything. We pray for all those souls who are deceived in your name and
led to destruction. We pray they realize true salvation in only through
your Word and your Spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise
up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten
crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

Revelation 17:3-6, 12
3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a
woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having
seven heads and ten horns.
4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with
gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full
of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT,
THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the
blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great
admiration.
12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received
no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

Daniel 7:7-8
7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast,
dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth:
it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of
it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had
ten horns.
8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another
little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by
the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a
mouth speaking great things.

Revelation 18:4-8
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my
people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of
her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her
iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double
according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double..
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much
torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and
am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and
famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord
God who judgeth her.

Prayer and Worshiping with Psalms

James 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him
sing psalms.

Yesterday I was at the monthly Gideons camp meet. The devotion topic was
blessings and as people were sharing their testimonies everyone agreed that
not only they were blessed but even their presence at the place of work or
the place where they dwell causes a blessing to fall on others.

But this is not the case always. We do face hardship at times and today’s
scripture says in these times of hardship we should pray. But when the word
‘prayer’ comes up people get to requesting, begging, pleading and crying.
The more we understand prayer our prayers will have less of the begging,
pleading and crying.

Prayer is very important, prayer is powerful, it can change situations but
how to pray is more important. Today’s scripture also says when we are
joyful, we are in good spirits we should sing psalms.

If we understand psalms they are nothing but prayers. The difference
between prayer and psalms needs to be understood. Words convey a message,
poems are words but they convey not only a message but also emotions and
psalms (songs) takes the emotions to a greater level.

James here seems to convey to us something which is contrary to that which
we do. James is telling us when we have problems do not be emotional in our
prayers but when we are joyful we should be emotional!

When we have problems we should have faith and just convey our problems to
God in a very simple way. It is faith that gets God to answer our prayer
not our emotions. But when we are joyful let us be emotional and show our
emotions totally to God, our emotions will express our thankfulness to God.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Living God. You see all and know all. Your Word says You
fulfill the desires of the righteous, they do not even need to pray. Teach
us how to pray and to communicate with You. Let not our prayers become a
complain window or an act of begging and pleading. Let our prayers be back
with strong faith. Help us to express the moments of joy and moments of
abundant blessings...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Forgiveness, Love and Righteousness

Collosians 4:10 Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus,
sister’s son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he
come unto you, receive him;)

People confuse between God’s merciful nature, His loving and His righteous
nature. People know God is merciful, they know God is love and portraits
true love. They also know God is a righteous God. But where they fail is to
balance all these three natures together. A righteous person will not be
unconditional so God’s mercy and love will also be conditional.

People read John 3:16 ‘God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life’ and they think ‘everyone will be saved and all will go to
Heaven’. They fail to read the condition that unless the person believes
(whosoever believes) he or she will not be saved. We read further in the
following verses Jesus says those who hate darkness will come to the light
and he or she is not condemned. Here too although the condemnation is
self-condemnation, yet it is based on the fact the person loves darkness or
hates it.

We need to get it into us that forgiveness cannot be received without
realization and change, in other words repentance. God does not forgive
unless we repent. Being sorry is not repentance but realizing the wrong and
making an attempt to change is.

Another false belief we hold that love is blind. Love is not blind. Love
does not distinguish between recipients, it overlooks all flaws of the
recipient but yet we see in John 3:16 although God loves the whole world
yet His salvation is only for those who believe. So God love is not the
same to those who do not believe and those who believe. When Jesus said
‘love one another as I have loved you’, He said this only to His disciples
and not in public. Thus our relationship between Christians and
non-Christians should be distinct. We are called to love all but yet the
extent should be distinct.

True love edifies and a love that does not edify is not love, it can be
called infatuation, admiration, crazy, idolization, obsession etc. but not
love. In Greek the word that is mostly translated as love is the word
‘Agape’ which more translates to ‘charity’ in English rather than ‘love’,
as we know. That is why some translations use both the English words for
this Greek word. It is charity which they say as ‘God kind of love’.

I took this matter up because in today’s verse we see reconciliation
between Paul and Barnabas. The dispute between them was due to Mark
(Marcus) who was Barnabas’ nephew. This dispute caused not only Paul and
Barnabas (who helped build Paul in his initial ministry) to separate but
also caused Paul to tell all the Churches to excommunicate Mark. In today’s
verse we read Paul telling the church of Colossians to receive Mark and
this happened after a long time, which shows that only when there was a
change in Mark that Paul forgave and reconciled with him.

Let us not confuse forgiving with forgetting. To forgive a person we need
to bring that person to realizing his or her mistake and to repent for it.
Jesus gave a few tips on doing that in Matthew 18:15-19.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Merciful and Loving God. Your Word says your mercy is
conditional and so also is your unconditional love. Lord we pray we realize
we cannot take You or our lives for granted for unless we live a life as
You demand we will not receive your unconditional love and mercy...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that
the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and
men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the
light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made
manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Matthew 18:15-19
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him
his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast
gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that
in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if
he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a
publican.
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound
in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven..
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as
touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my
Father which is in heaven.

Hostility amongst Christians

Acts 21: 7 And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to
Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.

Some days back my daughter was asking me why politicians create divisions
amongst people; divisions based on religion, caste or race etc. my answer
to her was simple but deep and I realized it later.

If all are united and of one understanding, then it is simply wrong verses
right, that means only the best will survive; by creating divisions the
politicians create space for wrongs to also be justified as right, thus
there exist many rights.

In religion also we see the same yard stick, Christianity is a showcase for
this. In Church history we see after the era of the Apostles who drove
towards one understanding and oneness of the Church, there started the
period of confusion. Most of the heretic ‘Gospels’ are dated 300AD onwards;
we also see the Roman Catholic Church also was formed in this period.

The devil (plural) in the Bible is given the titles ‘King of Tyre’ and
‘Prince of Tyre’. The word Tyre in Hebrew means small rocks/stones (in
Greek Petros and Aramaic Cephas). Rock (cliff - in Greek Petra and Aramaic
Suhas) in the Bible symbolizes truth (Word of God) since all scriptures
interconnect and come to one understanding. Satan is called the father of
lies therefore does not say complete lies for he knows he will get easily
caught. He plays with little truths which by themselves look good but do
not interconnect to one understanding. In the OT in the book of Ezekiel the
Jewish Church (Jerusalem) is referred to as Samaria (rocky mountain -
church of little truths) while the younger daughter (Catholic Church and is
denominations) is called Sodom (church of fornications/idolatry), they are
the two daughters of the whore (false church).

We see today amongst Christians (Believer Churches), Satan is more active
inside than outside. We see people fight with each other with stones
(little truths). They will take a verse or even part of the verse, out of
context and consider it complete truth. They do not have knowledge of the
Biblical languages and of manuscripts, thus think a XYZ translation is ‘THE
BIBLE’ and all others are from the devil.

Our lack of knowledge and understanding of the Bible is the cause of our
divisions. Sadly even in Bible colleges they concentrate less on the Bible
and more of what people have written of the Bible, including secular
writings (some self-declared atheists, people without faith are amongst the
writers they refer to).

Today’s verse talks of moving from Tyre to Ptolemais which means warzone.
Our Churches and its people are in Ptolemai because of Tyre.

Let us get our act together and understand the Bible before trying to
interpret scriptures and fight with other over it. Let us not be deceived
by the devil to fight amongst ourselves by our little truths, let us learn
to discuss and learn to listen to each other. Let us learn to come to the
right understanding of what the Word of God says and not what XYZ person
says.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God who never changes for You are perfect, You are Holy yet
Bible says You increase from glory to glory. Lord we pray we learn to
understand You and your Word and not be deceived to fight amongst ourselves
with our little knowledge of the Word...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Ezekiel 28:1-5, 12-14
2 Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in
the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God,
though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:
3 Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can
hide from thee:
4 With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee
riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:
5 By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches,
and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto
him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and
perfect in beauty.
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy
covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the
jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the
workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day
that thou wast created.
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so:
thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in
the midst of the stones of fire.

Ezekiel 16:46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters
that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy
right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.

Jews are not Christians

Galatians 1:13 For ye have heard of my manner of life in time past in the
Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and
made havoc of it:

Jesus was born amongst Jews, yet was not a Jew.

A statement like this can confuse a Christian. Christian confuse between a
follower of Judaism and one who is born an Israelite - Judea (southern part
which had Jerusalem as capital).

Judaism is a religion. Like Islam it claims to follow Biblical patriarchs
and instructions given by God but do the contrary. We see all throughout
the Bible God was very upset with these people for they never abided in His
Word and follow His instructions. There are very short periods we see they
kept the commandments and were truly blessed, but otherwise they suffered
more in the hands of God than anyone else.

Judaism is all about human traditions whitewashed with a Biblical paint.
They gave importance to the letter (text) without understanding what the
text meant. They never followed the spirit of the scripture which gives
life but followed the text of it which kills, since it is impossible to
abide in the text.

All Israelites are not called Jews (as many believe); it was the people of
Judea who were called Jews (the tribes which occupied southern Israel of
which Jerusalem was the capital). The Israelites of northern Israel whose
capital was Samaria were called Samaritans. Later these natural divisions
became religious divisions those who followed the orthodox traditions of
Judaism were called Jews and those who fused it with traditions of others
were called Samaritans (Galilee was part of northern Israel thus the term
‘no Prophet would come from Galilee’).

Jesus was born an Israelite from the tribe of Judah, amongst the Jews. His
mother Mary was from Galilee and therefore followed things like embalming
of the body after the person dies (an Egyptian tradition) while Joseph
(husband of Mary) was a Jew (he was from Bethlehem). Being born in
Bethlehem and brought up in Galilee yet Jesus never followed Judaism or the
Samarian. Since He did not follow Judaism the Jews detested Him. We need to
learn from Jesus how He grew amongst them and fellowshipped with them but
yet was separate from their traditions and rituals.

In today’s message we read Paul realized he was deceived to follow Judaism
in the name of following God and came to know it only when the Lord opened
his eyes to the truth.

Today we have the Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Coptic Christians and
even large part of those belonging to Protestant Churches who think they
are Christians because they believe in Christ and do Church traditions.

To be true Christians we need understand the spirit of the Word and follow
it. Understanding the purpose of the Word and following it is more
important than having knowledge of the Word.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God and You are a Merciful God. In your mercy You
have suffered your people who never abided in your Word, yet You protected
them and blessed them. Lord we pray we do not look at the natural blessings
but seek more spiritual blessings. We pray we be true Christians who follow
Christ...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Galatians 1:13-14
13 For ye have heard of my manner of life in time past in the Jews’
religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and made
havoc of it:
14 and I advanced in the Jews’ religion beyond many of mine own age among
my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my
fathers.

John 8:48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him [Jesus], Say we not
well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new
testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth,
but the spirit giveth life.

Galatians 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up
unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 16 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Does Faith Save?

James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath
faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

Most Christians would not agree with James and is the reason why most among
this lot will not see Heaven.

We all know we are saved by grace. Many will also know that this grace is
received because of faith. Thus as long as we have faith, we are under
grace and the grace is given according to the area of faith. That means if
we believe in salvation through Christ, we receive the grace of salvation;
similarly if we have faith in area of healing, then by the grace of God we
get healed.

Today’s message seems to contradict Jesus and Paul but is not so, we need
to understand salvation. When we say we are ‘saved’ it does not necessary
mean we will go to Heaven. All those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ
are saved from Hell where a person suffers their sin. Christians are
deceived to think when they die they immediately go to Heaven. Bible says
we will be judged when Jesus Christ comes again and then we will be
separated sheep from goats. Those who abide in Christ and do the will of
the Father are counted as sheep. They are not ‘social workers’ that look
after the sick, naked, hungry or thirsty; it speaks of spiritual sickness,
nakedness, hunger and thirst. Neither Jesus, Paul nor other disciples of
Jesus concentrated on doing these jobs; they supported the natural cause
but concentrated on the spiritual aspect of them.

Those amongst us who think by just believing in Jesus Christ, by going to
Church and giving our tithes will go to Heaven are very deceived. We need
to be disciples of Jesus Christ to go to Heaven that means we need to
follow Him and not just believe in Him. By believing we are saved from Hell
punishment (suffering our sins) but if we land amongst the goats on
Judgment Day we will face the Lake of Fire (which is worse than Hell),
there we will be punished for rejecting the Word/Will of God. Our
acceptance of the Word is when we keep/do it and not when we just read it
or study it.

Let us be doers of the Word if we want to see Heaven.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God. You can see all and nothing is hidden from You. Lord we
pray we do not hold on to a false faith that does not manifest in action.
We pray we be doers of the Word, people led by the Holy Spirit, people who
are called Disciples of Jesus Christ...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 8:30-32
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in
my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 5:24-29

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at
nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of
Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of
Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according
to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Hebrew 6:1-2
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on
unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead
works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of
resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word
are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and
perdition of ungodly men.

Becoming weak to win the weak!

1 Corinthians 9:22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the
weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

When we read this scripture it turns out to look very nice but when we get
to the reality of it then many questions get raised. Questions like, can a
strong man become a weak man without doing something which can be termed as
deception. More interesting are the verses before which talk of being a law
breaker to gain other law breakers and of becoming a person under bondage
of traditions (Jewish laws) to win the Jews.

This scripture is so misunderstood that people use it so as to justify
their carnal desires in the name of reaching out to the lost. We see
‘Christians’ celebrating pagan festivals and visit temples or places of
worship of other religions taking part in their rituals in the name of
winning others to Christ.

Paul did not deceive people by showing himself as spiritually weak, or
break laws to show himself as a criminal, or follow Judaism so as to win
the Jews. If we go into the grammar of the verbs used here, it does not
talk of present or future but of forever, being a testimony forever. Paul
did not deviate from following Christ so as to win people, what Paul is
speaking here is about his testimony, about what he was before he changed.
Paul is talking about him sharing what his life was as criminal (he was
guilty of murder of Stephen), as a staunch Jew who led crowds of fanatic
Jews to violence against others and as a person who was helpless when he
was blinded by the Lord for a period, where he was asked to seek his former
enemies for help.

We as Christians are called to follow Christ and thus are called to be an
example unto others in the way we live our lives. We are not called to
imitate others, especially those who are lost. We may visit a temple or
place of worship of other beliefs if needed but we need to separate
ourselves from their rituals and their beliefs i.e. a Christian should not
cover his or her head in their place of worship so as to please them, it is
better to stand outside than do it. He or she should not take part in their
rituals or consume the food offerings ‘prasad’ made to the idols.

Let us not bring God down in the name of showing people who God is; let us
lift people up by opening their eyes to the truth and by the way we live
the Lord’s Word.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You alone are God and all creation is by You. Lord we pray we who are
children of light bring those in darkness to your light, we pray we do not
enter darkness to do this but obliterate darkness with light...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Corinthians 9:19-23
19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant to
all, that I might gain the more.
20 And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them
that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are
under the law;
21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to
God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without
law.
22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all
things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
23 And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof
with you.

Ephesians 5:5-8
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous
man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and
of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things
cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk
as children of light:

Knowing and yet resisting the Word

2 Timothy 4: 15,16 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly
withstood our words. At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men
forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.

We have many like Alexandra in our Churches. In every Church one would find
someone or the other of this category. In some churches one will find the
Pastor becoming Alexandra.

Who was Alexandra?

Alexandra was a Cyrenian apostate. He was a Christian and son of Simon the
Cyrenian who bore the crucifix for Jesus. He was man with great zeal but
this zeal was based on knowledge but not on understanding. In school we
would call people who have knowledge but not understanding as parrots.
These people rattle a thousand words but will understand very few among
them and they will know when to rattle what. The word apostate comes from
the Greek word which means to deflect and an apostate is a person who
deflects the true meaning of a scripture. Alexandra was one of these people
and being a good public speaker was a tough nut to crack for even Paul.
Paul was so helpless in transforming him that he gave up and surrendered
him to Satan (disconnected all spiritual relationships with him).

I encounter such people regularly and have to deal with them with varying
intensity. Many of them are followers of men thus are misled, but there are
a few wicked ones who to justify their lust or natural / carnal desires
twist and manipulate scriptures.

Paul says a person who really understands scriptures will always understand
the little he or she knows, that does not mean he or she will behave like a
fool or claim to know nothing. Being humble does not mean acting like a
fool or stating one knows nothing. Being humble means truly acknowledging
ones limitation and understanding the limitation of others, it is about
pushing others ahead while not pushing oneself behind.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Spirit. You, Lord desire people to worship You in spirit and
truth. Your Word says unless we do not keep your Word we will not know the
truth. Lord, help us not to be verbal Christians but be active living
Christians who keep the Word. Help us become true disciples and not fans of
Christ...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Mark 15:21 And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out
of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.

Acts 4:6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander,
and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered
together at Jerusalem.

Acts 19:33 And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting
him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his
defence unto the people.

2 Timothy 4:14-18
14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him
according to his works:
15 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.
16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray
God that it may not be laid to their charge.
17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me
the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear:
and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve
me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Children and parents relationship

Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well
pleasing unto the Lord.

To understand the deeper aspect of today’s scripture we need to have some
basics within us well rooted.

God created every being in the beginning (Genesis 1) and later put us into
this natural creation one after the other (Genesis 2 onwards). In spirit we
all existed from the foundation of this creation and we were of one gender.
Our natural gender is limited to our natural body.

As far as coming into this creation we did not choose our parents and we
were allocated unto our fathers by God. That means each and every one of us
were already set as from which father we would be born. When our fathers
came to know are mothers we were planted into the womb of our mothers and
from there we took our natural form. If we see scriptures blessings and
curses flow from father unto children 100/1000 generations and 4
generations respectively. When we are in Christ then curses get broken
according to the area of faith (where we come to know the truth) and we
slowly move from Adam to Christ.

We need to also get it into us our natural relationships ceases when we
exit this natural body, our blessings and curses (curses only if we are not
in Christ) will flow unto our generations but we will no longer be related
as we were in our natural body. What natural people also carry is our
testimony; that is why when a good person dies the Jews bless / glorify God
for the testimony of the person.

We need to get it in us we did not choose our parents, they are placed by
God and He knows everything. Today’s scripture tells us we need to
acknowledge this truth and thus obey them, that also does not mean we
blindly do anything and everything they say. We need to remember our
spiritual relationship is above our natural / blood relationship that is
why husband and wife leave (not physically) their parents to become one.
Since our spiritual relationship is above our natural relationship our
Heavenly Father (God) is above all relationship so His command is over all
others.

Parents also need to understand their responsibility towards their children
and like the next verse says they should not bring their children to anger.
Parents are guardians of their children and answerable to God for them.
Spiritually a Man/Woman of God can have spiritual children but any Believer
has only one spiritual father/mother and that is God the Father.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are our Creator and Creator of each and every living thing that
exist. You God in your wisdom set everything in its place for You know all
and see all for nothing is hidden from You. Lord we pray we understand our
spirit being is above our natural being; our spirit relationship is above
our natural relationships. We pray we acknowledge You in all things and
that all things are through You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he

Demons know Christ more than us!

Mark 1:34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast
out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew
him.

Some days back I met a Catholic who is active in the Catholic Church and
when I spoke to him about the Bible and its importance, he simply said he
does not believe in all this. He was one among the many who follow a
religion because they are born in it. He says his prayers and believes in a
god named Jesus. We may pity or be amused by him but the situation is not
very different with Believers.

In the initial years of the Church (about AD250-300, before the formation
of the Catholic Church) they believed in Arianism and then moved to a
Trinitarian belief. Arianism speaks of the one God and the Son although
being God is subordinate to the Father. Trinitarian belief believes in
three distinct Gods, all equal and goes on to says their nature is the same
so their oneness is only in their relationship and not really one. When we
go into scriptures although Arianism does not explain God fully yet holds
better truth to what Trinitarian explains. Every theologian agrees that
they do not have a total understanding of God yet strongly hold to a belief
they think is right! They read less what scriptures say and go more by what
‘Church fathers’ say!

Today’s message says the demons knew Jesus and Jesus commanded them not to
disclose who He is. One stands to wonder why Jesus did not want us to know
Him. Secondly if the demons know Jesus better than us then why are they not
better beings than us Christians?

If God wants He can reveal Himself anytime but He is not doing that, He
desires obedience more than knowledge. It is through our obedience
(discipleship) in Him that we grow the Fruits of the Spirit and without the
Fruits of the Spirit we will not be able to enter Heaven.

We need to get it into us that having knowledge of God and knowing God are
two different things. The Greek work translated here (Mark 1:34) as ‘knew’
comes from the verb ‘to see’. Our understanding of God causes us to be like
Him and our so called knowledge of God keeps us afar from Him. God is not a
study topic for us to gain knowledge of Him. Seeking Him should be more to
understand Him, His ways and not to have knowledge of Him.

Bible says when Christ comes again He would declare Himself with a shout of
an Archangel and this will cause all creatures in Heaven, Earth (this
creation) and Hell to bow their knees (submit to His authority). This He
will do only when we have a sufficient understanding of Him and be fruitful
in Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You alone and God and there is none other than You. Your Word says You
are one, The Son came from You and Your Spirit came from the Son. Lord we
pray your people understand that Jesus said no being has seen You other
than the Son. Lord Jesus Christ we pray your people understand the
sacrifice You made from the foundation of creation and it was You through
whom this creation was made, it is for You that this creation was made and
it is in You that mankind will be lifted up and your Name will be
glorified. We pray we do not just know You but seek You and understand the
things of your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

From Breach to Sulphurous springs

Acts 28: 13 And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and
after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:

Many a times we do not realize a simple scripture may give profound depth
of revelation if we do Bible word study. Like today’s message it speaks of
two places Rhegium and Puteoli. One may wonder why these places are
mentioned, Luke did not name every place they passed by nor state any
incident that happened at Rhegium, yet named it. It does help to know the
route Paul took through his various travels but there is more to it than
what meets our eyes.

One sister based on her understanding of English translations of 3
scriptures was stating after death we do not go to Heaven nor go to Hell.
She felt we will continue living forever here on earth even after Judgment
Day!

In today’s message the two places are Latin names and have a meaning.
Rhegium means ‘Breach’ and Puteoli means ‘Sulphurous Springs’.

The Bible uses every word with purpose and that is for our understanding of
the hidden things. We know all those who do not believe in the Lord Jesus
Christ /God and His salvation will go to Hell. In Hell they suffer their
sins until the end of their spirit life which is very, very long. One
Judgment Day all who believe will rise and face Judgment. The sheep (who do
the will of the Father) will be separated from the goats (who do not do the
will of the Father). The sheep will enter the Kingdom of God (Heaven) and
the goats will suffer the Lake of Fire (also called Lake of Sulphur).

We also know Heaven, Hell or Lake of Fire is not a natural place, for Bible
says flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God (Heaven). So the
word Sulphur used to describe Lake of Fire has a symbolic purpose. If we
study the chemical it has a unique property which is used even in medical
industry due to this.

Humans have the ability to overcome or adapt to almost anything to a great
extend including things like pain, smell, heat etc. Yesterday I saw a video
clip of an Indian in Hyderabad (I assume so) who with bare hands was
holding a high voltage wire and working with it, anybody else would have
died doing this.

But we see there is one chemical which man’s body cannot adapt to and that
is Sulphur. Sulphur has the same effect on the first day as it would years
and years later.

Bible tells us those who believe will not suffer their sins like those who
do not believe and are forgiven, but if they believe and yet do not do the
will of the Father they will not enter Heaven but suffer for rejecting the
Word and Will of the Father. This suffering will be as terrible on the
initial moment as it would after a very, very long time till it ceases to
exist (a spirit can live eternal only in Heaven and nowhere else).

Being in the IT service industry we live by SLAs (Service Level Agreement).
In our SLA the quality of service is defined by parameters and if the
parameters are not met then it is considered a breach, and breach means
penalty.

By or faith in Christ we receive grace. Grace is not a free ticket to do
anything or to justify anything. God does expect change in us thus gave us
a Helper (His Spirit). If we do not meet the expectation of change even
after receiving His sacrifice we breach the covenant with God.

Today’s message tells us if we breach the covenant with God than we will
not suffer Hell but suffer the Lake of Sulphur.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Merciful God. Lord your mercy does not negate
your Righteousness. You do show mercy before You judge. Lord we pray we do
not take your grace for granted. You have paid a great price for us so that
we could be reconciled back to You. We pray we honor that price and we make
the efforts to walk the path of change with the help of your Spirit so that
we do not suffer the Lake of Sulphur but partake of your glory in Heaven...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot
inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Matthew 25:31-46

Matthew 7:21-23

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and
murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars,
shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone
[burning Sulphur]: which is the second death.

Revelation 20:13-15
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell
delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man
according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second
death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into
the lake of fire.

Using the Law lawfully

1 Timothy 1: 8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

Two days back in a Whatsapp group a sister put a vague statement about
‘holy kiss’ and how we should greet people with a kiss but with holy
intentions! When I confronted her and explained what the scripture actually
meant, she said she was not very knowledgeable of scriptures but was led by
the Holy Spirit! She was a person who leads a ministry in Africa!

In today’s message the word ‘law’ here does not refer to the Ten
Commandments or the traditions of the Jews but speaks of doctrines which
are proved and established. We need to be careful about what we follow and
what we believe in and check that with that which is established by the
Word of God for the Bible has that which is tested and approved by God.

The doctrines of the Satan are equated to stones. He does not tell total
lies; he being the father of lies tells little truths that’s why he is
called King / Prince of Tyrus (meaning stones). Word of God or Truth on
other hand is equated to a rock (actually meaning cliff) for it is one. All
that is written in the Bible is connected and interwoven as a net - having
one understanding and one purpose.

Let us not take one scripture and build an understanding which contradicts
other scriptures. Let us test our understanding with every scripture and
accept only that which is proven. We do not need to have total
understanding of every scripture in the Bible to be confirmed of every
doctrine we hold. Bible says if our understanding is proven by two or three
scriptures then we can consider it acceptable but if we come across even
one scripture that goes against it then we are called to reject that
understanding.

Let us test every understanding we hold and only when we all are in one
understanding will we see the glory of God.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are awesome God. You are eternal God and You do not change nor
does your Word change. Lord we pray mature by discernment of every
doctrine we hold. Lord we pray your Spirit cleans out every wrong doctrine
in us and lets only the right doctrines to be set in us. Cause us O Lord to
be of one mind and one understanding...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Timothy 1:3-8
3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into
Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister
questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a
good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say,
nor whereof they affirm.
8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good
comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall
be with you.

Acts 4:32-33
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one
soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed
was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of
the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Who was the first sinner?

1 Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was
in the transgression.

In other religions like in Islam we see women are condemned to be evil and
at times equated to devils. Islamic text says their prophet saw hell full
of women. They have impossible rules for women to go to Heaven like one of
the main criteria for Muslims to enter Paradise is to perform Ramadan
(40days of fasting). Now women during their menstruation period are not
advised to fast so their fasting is considered invalid, they are not
allowed to even pray during their periods; therefore they are not able to
keep the complete 40days fast. If a Muslim woman is raped the blame first
lies on the woman and to prove her innocents she needs the help of 2 male
witnesses!

In other religions too we see discrimination between genders and this
includes Judaism. We need to get it into us even though Jews say they
follow the Bible yet because of their lack of understanding of it they do
not follow it. They like Muslims follow human traditions based on biblical
events and characters. Jesus is considered the greatest Jewish heretic thus
cursed by them.

We see in today’s message Eve is blamed for being deceived first yet we see
Adam is considered the first sinner. We need to understand it was to Adam
that God instructed not to eat of Tree of Good and Evil (Doubt) and he
failed to keep it, his love for Eve caused him to be blinded to the truth
and keep the command of God. He knew all things created by God before him
was good yet he wanted to know evil (that was Satan) which he was innocent
to.

People think a sin is only when a person breaks the Ten Commandments, they
do not realize every command that God speaks unto them directly also if not
followed is a sin. The Bible says after we have received the Holy Spirit
the Lord writes His commandments on our hearts (inner-man) and not on
stones.

Let us not be deceived like Adam who sinned since he got lost in his love
for that which God had given instead of the giver Himself. Let not our
blessings be the cause of our sin, but let us always keep the giver of
those blessings above all things.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You created all things and nothing exist that is
not your creation. Lord we pray we always remember everything comes from
You and that we do not fall due to our love for things given by You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them
that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is
the figure of him that was to come.

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be
made alive.

Hebrews 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those
days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their
minds will I write them;

In the flesh - Gentiles

Ephesians 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in
the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the
Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

Yesterday a Catholic on FB had posted a video of Steve Ray who calls
himself a ‘Catholic Apologist’ mocking the term ‘born-again’. I did respond
to the video but what saddens me is that Christians are unable to respond
to people like these who try to twist the truth and scriptures, misleading
people for their own personal materialistic gains.

The term ‘born-again’ exist only once and that is in 1 Peter 1:23. The
words in John 3:3,7 are mistranslated as ‘born-again’, the actual Greek
words are ‘gennao anothen’ which means ‘born from above’. It refers to
being spiritually born / baptized in the Holy Spirit.

In the book of Romans, Paul says before being in Christ we were spiritually
dead due to sin or law (worldly righteousness). That means if we were evil
we were dead due the sins we were committing and if we were ‘good people’
we were yet dead to the false righteousness or worldly righteousness we put
on.

Today’s scripture strikes a very deep truth which even Believers need to
wake up to. It says even if we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ we are not
born of the Spirit (born-again). It is only when we are baptized in the
Holy Spirit we start the journey of being born-again. Anyone who sleeps
while on that journey of being born-again is eligible to enter the Kingdom
of God (although salvation is a person choice yet we enter Heaven as a body
- together).

Let us not fool ourselves or the world by calling ourselves ‘Christians’ if
we have not experienced the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The Greek term
‘baptizo’ translated as baptism comes from the textile / garments industry
that existed at that time. It was a term used to dye clothes, where the
cloth would take on the color of the dye dipped in. It refers to losing
one’s nature, one’s identity and putting on the nature / identity of the
one we are immersed in. That means baptism in Jesus Christ means putting on
the nature of Christ and baptism in the Holy Spirit means being death to
the flesh and being alive to the Spirit.

Today’s scripture literately uses the term Gentiles to those in the flesh.
That means even if we believe in Jesus Christ and not dead to our flesh
then we are not fully Christian.

Let us start saying ‘NO’ to our carnal desires and surrender more to the
Spirit. In our previous messages we saw leaving for Jesus, none including
Peter or Paul or anyone else was or is perfect. They all made mistakes, but
they never gave up on the path of change. Let us also keep up the battle
with our flesh and continue the path of change.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are our Loving Father. It is due to your Love that we experience
your Mercy, but your Righteousness can not overlook our imperfection. It is
for this reason You desire our transformation and therefore made a way for
us to receive the Spirit of your Son so that we are transformed and be
eligible to reconciled with You.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 3:3-7
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again [from above], he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he
enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of
water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of
incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein
we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the
oldness of the letter.

Romans 8:10,14,19
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the
Spirit is life because of righteousness.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the
manifestation of the sons of God.

The man imperfect

Acts 10:23-26

23 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went
away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited
for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his
feet, and worshipped him.

26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

Bible has a very blunt way at putting things especially with names. We know
about David’s wife Abigail who was former wife of Nabal (married to David
after Nabal’s death). Interesting to note the name Nabal means ‘fool’ in
Hebrew. Imagine today someone being named Fool!

Yesterday my daughter Salome was asking me if her name was pronounced
Shalom or Salome. The word Shalom (shalowm) is the root word for many names
like Solomon, Salome, Salem (former name of Jerusalem)... all of them mean
‘peace’. Biblical names are given with purpose. Peter was one such case of
odd name like Nabal.

Simon the son of Jona was called Cephas which means stone (small stone) by
Jesus. This name caught on and became his permanent name. When the Gospels
and letters got translated into Greek the name Cephas became Peter (Petros)
which also means small stone. The word for rock in Aramaic is Suhas and in
Greek is Petra.

Simon was called Cephas / Peter because of his problem of being over
confident in the little he knew. In the Gospels we see Peter had the foot
in the mouth problem getting himself in trouble many a times with Jesus for
what he spoke. Even after Pentecost, after being baptized in the Holy
Spirit, yet Peter was not a total transformed person, it took time for him.
We know of Paul rebuking Peter before a congregation for the serious wrong
teaching he was spreading among the Gentiles (non-Jews).

In today’s message we see one area of change of Peter. In today’s message
we see Peter refraining Cornelius from bowing to him. Cornelius did not
worship Peter as a god but was giving him respect as a Man of God. Why
Peter refrained Cornelius was because the means of respect was worthy only
for God. In Hebrews (Israelites / Jews) bowing down, kissing of hand were
means of worship, even though Cornelius did not mean it the gestures would
be misunderstood, it was this reason Peter refrained Cornelius from doing
it.

Incidentally Peter was the same person before whom people laid the sick to
be healed by his shadow. This incident was not called for and even though
it happened in the presence of Peter and this fame spread beyond the city,
yet Peter did not rebuke them or stop them from doing it. They had lifted
Peter up more than what which was required. This act led to the first
persecution experienced by the Church. Peter learned his lesson the hard
way but he did change over time as noted in today’s message. This man who
spoke insane things at time in the start gives one of the deepest and most
precious jewels of revelation in his later letters.

When we compare this with Paul, we see people stole the clothing (apron) of
Paul and used it for healing since Paul did not encourage it. But later we
see this man of perfection did make mistakes of not abiding to the warnings
of the Holy Spirit and not discerning the advice of his colleagues to join
some Jews in a tradition to break their vow at a Synagogue. Paul later in
his last letters shares his weaknesses boldly.

Today the Lord is telling us let us not take our anointing for granted. Let
us discern everything, all the time. Let us not glorify ourselves with our
anointing. It is given for a purpose to be a light unto the lost to come to
the Father. It is given for the Salvation of the lost and not for us to
misuse it. Let us not allow people to worship us by their actions or by
their words. Let us be bold to share our imperfection to people so that
they know the real us.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Holy, Righteous and Truth. You alone Lord are worthy of praise
and glory. Lord we pray we never touch the glory due unto You. We pray we
do not misuse our anointing for our glory even unknowingly. Help us discern
the things happening around us and give us the courage to correct people
who lift us up instead of You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

John 1:42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said,
Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by
interpretation, A stone.

Acts 5:15-18

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid
them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by
might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto
Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean
spirits: and they were healed every one.

17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which
is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison..

Acts 10:30-32

30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at
the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in
bright clothing,

31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in
remembrance in the sight of God.

32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter;
he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when
he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 16 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Lord is Lord of all

Romans 14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that
he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

Satan is normally associated with death and those in the Lord are expected
to ascend to heaven without dying, that is why we see the Catholics claim
that Mary did not die but ascended to Heaven, even though in Israel during
their ‘pilgrimages’ they light candles at the ‘TOMB of Mary’.

When we watch horror movies the dead or evil is mostly portrayed in the
flesh that is deformed or half eaten while holy people are projected clean
and mostly in long white clothes.

Hell is pictured a place ruled by Satan and his goons since Catholics drew
a picture of fire all over the place, people burning and devils torturing
them while Jews drew a picture of people tormented in large vase of burning
oil by devils. Both their image of hell is contrary to the Bible. They draw
this picture due to the name associated with Hell which was a valley
outside Jerusalem where garbage was burnt, so had a perpetual fire burning
there. They forget it was also a place where the unclean (people with
leprosy or exiled from the city) dwelt.

David in Psalm 139:8 wrote if he went to Heaven the Lord is present and
even if he went to Hell there too the Lord is present. If we read in
Revelation Hell is controlled by the Angels of God for they hold the keys
(symbolic) of Hell.

In 1 Peter 3:18-20 Peter writes Christ after death went to Hell and
preached to the souls form the time of Noah. It does not talk of Jesus
being tortured by devils there. His resurrection meant He was raised from
Hell. Peter uses the most appropriate word for Hell, he calls it a prison.

Jesus in His parable of Lazarus the beggar and the rich man pictures the
fire on hell burning inside the rich man and not outside, due to which the
rich man cries for even a drop of water be put on his tongue.

Hell is not a place of fire, people take their own fire to hell, for what
burns in hell are the sins within them, which is pictured as never dying
burning coals or never dying flesh eating worms.

God is God of all creation, but only those who have hope is Him consider
Him as Lord. Today’s message says Christ died and resurrected so that even
the dead (from the time of Noah since the covenant was started with Noah)
could have hope.

When we say ‘Jesus is Lord’ it is not just about acknowledging who He is
but more about His position in our lives. It means He is our Master, He is
our King and He is the final authority in our lives. That means we need to
submit to His will.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are God, there is none other than You. Yet
You Lord do not enforce your Kingdom in our lives but give us the freedom
to choose. Lord we pray we choose You for from You comes life, eternal life
and abundance of life and far from You is suffering. Lord open our eyes to
the truth so that we walk in light and not in darkness...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Psalms 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed
in hell, behold, thou art there.

1 Peter 3:18-20
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust,
that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but
quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God
waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few,
that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Matthew 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God
of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive
for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Revelation 9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from
heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

Revelation 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key
of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

Was Paul stubborn, not to listen to the Holy Spirit

Acts 21: 4,5 And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said
to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem. And when
we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all
brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the
city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.

Those who are in to logic, in to combinations and permutations would find
today’s incident of interest. Here we have people (they were simple church
leaders and lay men) through whom the Holy Spirit warns Paul not to go to
Jerusalem. Later we see again another warning through a known Prophet named
Agabus (meaning locust - symbolizing destruction) who goes into details of
the things set for Paul at Jerusalem. What we see is Paul states ‘let the
will of God be done’ and still goes ahead to Jerusalem and finds that which
was prophesied coming true.

The question asked is if it was God’s will then why would the Lord warn
Paul through not once but twice?

What is more interesting to note Paul got caught by the Jews doing
something which Paul himself rebuked others like Peter for. He abided to
the wrong suggestion of James and others, and did not discern their advice.
Paul joined some Jews at a synagogue in a Jewish tradition of shaving their
head so as to conclude/break a vow. The Jews of Jerusalem mistook those
companying Paul of not being Jewish, thus caused the whole city Jews to
revolt against him and thus try to kill him, but the Lord saves him from
their hands and gets him arrested by the Romans.

What we need to ask is even though Paul’s desire to preach in Rome was
fulfilled at the end, was it necessary that Paul had to get arrested and
suffer the journey to go to Rome? Could there have not been an easier way
for the Lord to fulfill Paul’s desire? No doubt it was the Lord’s will that
Paul preach in Rome which was ultimately fulfilled, but was the process
necessary?

I am not saying Paul was wrong or right, but raising a question of the
purpose of warning by the Holy Spirit not once but twice to Paul. The Lord
must have known Paul’s future steps yet wanted to make known to Paul of the
difficult direction taken by him to do the Lord’s will. It was not the
Lord’s will for Paul to suffer thus gave the warnings.

What is more important to note is Paul who was considered a person of
perfect understanding of the Kingdom of God did a foolish step to get
caught by the Jews simply because he did not abide to the warnings.

These things are written not to belittle Paul but for us to understand
however great anointing may be on us, however great may be our work in the
Lord and however great may be our spiritual growth, it is important we
understand every step we takes requires the same caution we took when we
were little in the Lord. We should never be over confident or consider
ourselves knowledgeable. We should always discern our ways for the Lord may
advise us through people whom we are ministering. Like Balaam if we do not
listen to the Lord, the Lord will even talk to us through the donkey we
ride. Our hearts and intentions may not be evil like Balaam’s but may be
passionate for God’s Kingdom like Paul’s but then God has no intention we
suffer for His Kingdom, He is able to do all things good only if we abide
fully in Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God and Heavens are your abode. Lord we pray we do
not get overconfident but be always sensitive to your Spirit. We pray we do
your will your way and not our way...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Doing the Will of the Father

Mark 10:46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with
his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of
Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

Yesterday we learnt about how Paul chose the difficult path to do the will
of the Lord by going to Jerusalem even though he was warned, not once but
twice. And we see how Paul did not discern the advice of his colleagues and
joined some Jews into taking part in a Jewish tradition, gets caught and
almost killed. The Lord saves him and sets him on his journey to Rome at
the hands of Roman soldiers.

In today’s message we see another similar situation where Jesus knowing the
outcome of His action yet did it so as to comply with the will of the
Father.

The Jews were under the rule of the Romans and had limited rights; even
their rulers could not put a person to death unless it was under religious
rules. They could punish them by whipping them 29 times or stone them for
blasphemy /adultery/breaking the Sabbath but other than that they could not
kill a person. For stoning charges needed to be proved else the person who
caste the first stone or the one who gave the consent to do so (like Paul
Saul did in the case of Stephen, people placed their robes at his feet
taking his approval) would be held for murder. Crucifixion was not a Jewish
tradition but a Roman tradition and Jesus was prophesied to be crucified.

Until the incident of healing Bartimaeus, Jesus enjoyed the respect and
protection of the Romans. He had some senior Roman army persons as His
followers, so although the Jews hated Him yet they could not do much
against Him other than try to stone Him under the Jewish religious law,
that too proven. The healing of Bartimaeus changed the relationship between
Jesus and the Romans and caused Jesus to be considered a Roman rebel. To
understand this we need to understand who Bartimaeus was and why he was
blind.

Bartimaeus was not born blind but made blind. Bar in Greek means son and
Bartimaeus was the son of Timaeus. As per records Timaeus was a very high
ranking Roman officer in Jericho. Bartimaeus was like a black sheep of his
family and had joined the rebels against the Romans. The Romans known for
instant hard justice spared the life of Bartimaeus but at the cost of
blinding him. Jesus by healing Bartimaeus undid a punishment thus went
against the authority of the Romans.

Jesus knew if He healed Bartimaeus He was signing His own death warrant.
Unlike the case of Paul, here we see Jesus had chosen the difficult path in
line with the will of the Father. Had Jesus not healed Bartimaeus, He would
not have been crucified and would not complete prophecies / sacrifices as
written in the books of Moses.

Let us understand it is not always the will of Father we suffer. There may
be some rare moments when we are called to be martyrs or take the hard way
to do what we are commissioned for. Most of the time we chose the hard way
ourselves even though God warns us not to, by speaking to us directly,
through His Word, through people or His anointed ones. Let us be sensitive
to the Spirit of God and discern everything we do.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord can do all things and since You are all
knowing You alone know that which is best for us. Your Word is lamp to our
feet and light to our path, You show that which is best for us and guides
is through your Word and your Spirit. We pray we abide in your Word and
your Spirit so that we chose the best path and not the difficult path...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 20:29-34
29 And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard
that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son
of David.
31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace:
but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of
David.
32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I
shall do unto you?
33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and
immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

Luke 18:35-43
35 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain
blind man sat by the way side begging:
36 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
37 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
39 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace:
but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he
was come near, he asked him,
41 Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord,
that I may receive my sight.
42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying
God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

The path to prosperity

1 Peter 3:8,9 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of
another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for
evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye
are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

Many people become Christians because they want to prosper in their lives;
it is sad when we see many Christians have their eyes on worldly prosperity..

Worldly prosperity is not evil, but not having control on it will destroy a
person, it is same as an alcoholic who claims to have control on his
drinking. It is for this reason that Jesus said it is almost impossible for
a rich man to inherit the Kingdom of God. God does not want us to be poor
but also does not want to lose us by blessing us with great worldly riches.
He desires us to be spiritually rich and worldly sufficient.

When we look at what is happening in Churches and at outreach programs, one
tends to wonder are they trying to add people to God’s Kingdom or trying to
keep people out of God’s Kingdom, since their focus is worldly prosperity.

The Greek word ‘eulogeo’ translated as blessing is a compound word made of
two words ‘eu’ which means ‘do well’ / ‘prosper’ and ‘logos’ which means
‘speak’, in other words it means to speak a word of prosperity. In Greek at
least the word ‘blessing’ speaks of the purpose of blessing, but in Hebrew
we see the word ‘barak’ translated as ‘bless’ does not specify prosperity,
thus also translated as ‘cruse’ in some places like in the book of Job when
his wife tells Job to curse [bless] God and die. When the Hebrews blessed a
person they would make it a point to speak the blessing and not just say
‘God bless you’. Simply saying ‘God bless you’ would mean ‘let God quicken
things in your life’; quickening in what direction would depend on the
heart condition of that person. Simply saying ‘God bless’ in Hebrew almost
amounted to saying let ‘God judge you quickly’. This is the reason Paul
makes it a point to specify in his letter to Romans.

In today’s message we read Peter advices a way to receive true prosperity
is being of one mind, brotherhood and being courteous. He says when we do
this we do not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing and thereby
knowing that we are called unto.

A true Christian is not an introvert thinking more of one self, but an
extrovert a person who knows his or her purpose is in the spiritual success
of others; helping the person in the natural just to make sure the
spiritual purpose is not lost.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God. Your adobe is the Heavens. This earth and all
its things are temporary and made to refine us and make us worthy to
inherit your spirit Kingdom. Lord we pray we do not lose focus of the real
things by seeking the temporary things. We pray we seek real prosperity
which is your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Matthew 19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you,
That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Job 2:9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine
integrity? Curse [barak] God, and die.

Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you.

Romans 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

Tomb of memory

John 20:6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the
sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,

The Egyptians are famous for their dead more than anything else. They made
pyramids which were tombs of the dead. They believed the body of their
rulers and those in high places needed to be preserved for the person would
need it in his or her after life, just not the body even riches and all
things favorite objects including their close servants were buried along
them in the tomb so as to support them in their after live. The tombs took
many years to build so it was not necessary that they killed people or
buried them alive as believed in stories to be placed along with the main
person.

Among the Israelites when a Man of God or famous person died like in the
case Abraham they placed the body in a cave instead of burying it as per
customs. They later become object of worship. In case of Moses, God hid his
body so that they do not worship him.

Embalming the body was a custom the Samarian Israelites induced after their
exile in Egypt. This was not just putting a paste of spices on the body but
actually involved cutting and filling the body with grounded spices after
removing the internal organs like the Egyptians did. This embalmment was
done on the third day of death. The Jews of Galilee were followers of this
custom. We see the bringing back of Lazarus from his dead shook all the
people and caused them to greet Jesus with palms and also caused the
Pharisees to seek to kill not only Jesus but also Lazarus for this reason.
Jesus had not just raised him from death but also regenerated his internal
organs. Jesus cried at Lazarus tomb not because Lazarus died (Jesus knew of
it long before and came to bring him back to life) but on physically seeing
what they had done to his body and seeing their faithlessness.

In the case of Jesus’ death we see Mary His mother and also Mary Magdalene
and other women were followers of these customs, so after putting basic
spices with Jesus’ body on the day of His death and wrapping it in a linen
cloth they kept it in a tomb so as to finish the main ritual on the 3rd
day. The Greek word translated as tomb / sepulchre is the word mnemeion
from which we get the English word memory. The Samarian Jews had imported
Egyptian traditions by white washing them and mixing them with Jewish
beliefs

As per prophecy the body of Jesus did not see corruption and that had to be
testified so had to be kept but it did not undergo embalmment for He
resurrected before the 3rd day completed and when the women came to embalm
the body they did not find it. We find the women were so engrossed to
complete their rituals that Mary Magdalene was inquiring with the Angel,
not asking for an alive or resurrected Jesus (as per prophecy) but ask for
His body!

Jesus did appear to His disciples in a natural body after His resurrection,
to the extent of letting them feel the wounds of His palms; but then His
whole body was bruised from the crown of His head to His feet so much so
that scriptures say His bones were visible and He was not identifiable as a
human being, but all those wounds were not visible since they could
recognize Him. We also see His body was not restricted physically for He
could walk into closed rooms and appear at different places almost
instantly. Jesus was not bought back to life in His natural body like
Lazarus but resurrected in the flesh.

Today’s message tells us to give a thought to life and death. Death is the
end of a life but moving from the natural world to the spirit world. In the
natural world we have restrictions and have worldly relationships like
family, friends and social acquaintances but once we die we have only two
options that we move to either a Brethren or not a Brethren of Christ. If a
brethren of Christ then we will get to enter Heaven on Judgment Day to
enjoy an eternal and abundant life; if not a brethren of Christ then we
will suffer our sins and suffer for rejecting Christ and the Father’s Will.

Through today’s message the Lord is also telling us all the name, fame and
status we create here will be there for a period and like people’s memory
and earthly material will gradually perish through time.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and eternal God. Time is not a factor for You for You were
before the beginning and will exist forever. You gave life to man but also
made a way for him to dwell with You forever through the Tree / River of
Life that’s available in Heaven. We pray Lord we do not seek not rewards
and glory of this world which perish but seek the things of your Kingdom
which are eternal...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 11:11-13,17, 25-26,31-44

John 12:9-13,17-19
9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came
not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had
raised from the dead.
10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to
death;
11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed
on Jesus.
12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they
heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried,
Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
17 The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of
his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.
18 For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had
done this miracle.
19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye
prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.

Acts 2:29-31
29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David,
that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day..
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath
to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would
raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his
soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Complete annihilation of sin

Hebrews 9:25,26 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high
priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For
then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now
once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the
sacrifice of himself.

In other religions like Hinduism, Jainism or even others we find their gods
/ spiritual leader claimed to come again and again in different avatars /
incarnations to attend to evil whenever it grows. They do not totally
destroy evil but control it. The reason behind this is that in their belief
there is a fine line between good and bad. At times good is bad and bad is
good. Even in beliefs like Buddhism or Taoism we see they seek a balance of
good and bad and not complete destruction of bad.

The reason behind such beliefs is they are based on human point of view,
since all these religions are manmade so the righteousness is human
righteousness; so as per human penchant the same thing will be good
sometime and bad another time. That is why in Hinduism gods take evil forms
or demons are also considered gods.

God is a Holy God and all about Him is perfect so He does not change.
Although He keeps growing in glory yet His ways, His Character is always
the same.

Today’s message talks of Christ who humbled Himself from the foundation of
creation, suffered since the foundation of creation, yet became a sacrifice
only once. He did not come to reduce evil or lessen our sins but came to
completely destroy it. But when we look at Christians who are baptized in
Christ we do not see a complete destruction of sin, so did Christ fail? NO

It is because we do not understand the purpose of the sacrifice of Christ
on the Cross that we assume Christ defeated Satan on the Cross and sin was
destroyed. There is two parts to sin one is the act and second the nature
to do the act i.e. robbery is a sin and the nature to rob is the sin
nature. The robbery sin can be forgiven but the sin nature needs to be
overcome by putting on the nature of God / Christ.

We need to understand by His sacrifice Christ made peace between man and
God; and by this peace man could receive the Spirit of God and it is the
Spirit of God who destroys the sin nature in us, He causes us to put on the
nature of Christ and thus helps us overcome our sin nature.

The total annihilation of sin happen is us and that happens collectively.
It means each one of us will not be perfect, but together as one body we
will become perfect and one day there will be someone who will have the
nature of Christ in them (the two witnesses). It was two who sinned and
caused all billions and trillions to be condemned as sinners, and at the
end it is the battle of these billions that produces two who justify all
those who are in Christ to be able to enter Heaven. It is only when we
understand this we will understand the need to work as one body with the
help of the Holy Spirit. It is only when we do that we will quicken our
entry to Heaven.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Holy, Righteous and Truth. You Lord do not change and nor does
your Word change. Lord we pray we understand even though we are forgiven of
our sins yet we need to overcome the sin nature. Your grace and your Spirit
helps us overcome, help us to remain in grace by our faith and help us
surrender to your Spirit so that we become overcomers and receive access to
the Tree / River of Life in Heaven...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap
corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life
everlasting.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be
born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith
unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of
life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of
the river, the tree of life, which bare twelve fruits, and yielded her
fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree for the healing of the
nations.

One is not born Christian but born-again

Romans 9:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all
children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

There is a saying by living in a garage one does become a car so also one
does not become a Christian by being born in a Christian family. Among
Catholics they baptize an infant and even give a ‘Christian name’ to that
infant. They neither understand baptism nor realize by giving a name one
does not become a Christian.

In today’s message we see Paul applying the same yardstick to the Jews who
called themselves as People / Children of God. Paul tells them by being a
child / descendant of a chosen person does not qualify them as child of God
or as God’s people.

Many Christian are blinded by the term Israel / Israelite / Jew and think
anyone born in that country / race / belief is a chosen person of God. They
do not realize they were chosen as a race from which our Savior would come,
they had the promises of the Kingdom of God but lost it because they
rejected Christ.

Let us get it into us no one can enter the Kingdom of God by relationship
or by the efforts of another person, irrespective of how great the person
is. If that was the case then the other brothers and sisters of Jesus
(children of Joseph) leaving for James and Jude (Judas) would have also
been blessed in the Kingdom of God, but sadly they (along with Mary His
mother) are not named in early Church history after the death of Jesus
(Mary is named until Pentecost but after that she retired from ministry and
dwelled with her elder son).

As father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, son or daughter of Man
or Woman of God we have a promise of the blessings that are on that person
but do not inherit them by our earthly relationship. We only receive the
promises or blessings by our faith and our walk in the Lord.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You are also a Righteous God. All that You do
Lord is in Justice and Truth. Your ways are perfect for You are perfect.
You are no respecter of man. You only see the hearts of people. Lord we
pray we are not deceived by earthly relationship but realize only being
born in Spirit and Truth can we claim your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 3:3-8
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof,
but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one
that is born of the Spirit.

Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in
heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot
inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Matthew 22:29-30
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the
scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage,
but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Knowing the Lord

Romans 9:15, 16 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will
have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So
then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God
that sheweth mercy.

Yesterday I was discussing with someone from a heretic church called
Emperor Emmanuel - Church of Zion which is based out of Muriyad, Kerala -
southern India. The place where are based from is called Zion and they have
an understanding, that all those who dwell in that place are the only ones
who will go to Heaven when the Lord comes again. Via this doctrine they
have conned many to sell their houses, their property, so as to donate it
to this institute. Later when their eyes open these people are disowned and
find themselves on the streets.

I asked this person why they use the term ‘Emperor’ and not ‘King’ as the
Bible uses. He did not understand the basic principle the term King is used
for a ruler of a kingdom and Emperor for ruler of an empire. It is based on
the size of the territory of land ruled that the term is applicable. In
their foolishness they equated the term King of Kings to Emperor trying to
give the Lord a promotion. The Lord is not King of any earthly kingdom; His
Kingdom is not of this world. Also He is not called King over worldly kings
but over His people who were given dominance over this world before they
sinned. By the term He confirmed we will overcome sin and will be restored
our kingship.

In today’s message we see another misunderstood concept. God says He will
have mercy on whom so ever He pleases and a person is not saved by his or
her merits but only by His mercy (grace - all the mercy needed). This
creates an image of a chess playing God (with Himself) and people as pawns.
This also causes people to blame God for the good and evil that exist. They
say nothing can happen without God’s knowledge, permission or will.

It is true God has mercy on whomsoever he desires and does not have on
whomsoever He desires. None can demand mercy from Him. But we need to
remember God is also a Righteous God and He is never unjust. This creation
is made based on free will. Those who want to return to Him must overcome
this world; He does not force them to do it. He being all knowing yet shows
mercy on those whom He knows will not truly seek His Kingdom. There is none
who can claim that they have not received His mercy, not even Satan. But
how much mercy is based on their heart’s state. If we have a repentant
heart than only we will receive greater mercy, but for grace (all the mercy
we need) we need faith. It is by our repentance we receive more mercy and
via mercy we receive the gift of faith and via our faith we receive saving
grace.

By the fact we have the ability to be atheist - decide God does not exist,
confirms we are not programed beings but free will beings. Ultimately we
cannot blame God for our destructions but only blame ourselves.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Merciful God but You are also a Righteous and Holy God. You
do not shower unlimited mercy on each and every one even though You are
impartial and not a respecter of man. Your mercy is received on basis of
your principles which do not contradict but are perfect. We thank You Lord
for your mercy on us and for your gift of faith which gives us our saving
grace...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Exodus 34:6-7
6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD
God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and
truth,
7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and
sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of
the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the
third and to the fourth generation.

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive
that God is no respecter of persons:

Romans 5:14-15
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had
not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure
of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the
offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by
grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

There is only one God

1 Corinthians 8:5,6 For though there be that are called gods, whether in
heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us
there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him;
and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Yesterday a sister was not well and I had to rush to her house to pray for
her. At her place some other Believers were there come to pray for her. The
sister’s family was previous Catholic now the mother and son are still
rooted in the Catholic Church while the both daughters are out of it
(though one under pressure sometimes accompanies her mother to the RC
Church). The Believers were disturbed with the Catholic images in the house
thinking they were the cause of disturbance in the house.

Christians Believers know there is no other God other than the Lord and all
other gods are decoys of evil spirits to make man to worship them. The
Catholics worship a goddess named Mary whom they think is the mother of
Jesus. They have substituted her in place of the Holy Spirit, giving her
all the importance due to the Holy Spirit. They have no idea they are
worshipping an evil spirit which comes in her name and deceives them.

Long ago as a Catholic my eyes were opened when the Lord revealed who this
Mary was through His Word. People ask the question why God does not open
every Catholic’s eyes to know Him to this deceit.

If we read Luke 3 when Simeon the Man of God beheld the child Jesus he
spoke of the revelation of how Jesus was going to be the stumbling rock
which will cause the rise and fall of many in Israel. He then turns to Mary
his mother and reveals how her name was going to be misused after her death
and how her heart was going to be pierced with a sword. What is interesting
like Jesus was a stumbling block to reveal the good and bad we see Mary’s
name is also used as a revealer of hearts of people, of those who are evil.

God is allowing people to worship this evil spirit that comes as Mary
because He was to expose the hearts of these pony pretenders who say they
love God but really do not; they come to God for their own personal worldly
gains. They want God on this world and do not want Heaven, since they love
this world, its people and its yield more than God and His Kingdom.

When we minister to the lost we need to minister to them hoping they are
not one of those hard hearted against God but one of those who are to
inherit His Kingdom. We should not rush and hit them with the Bible on
their heads. We are called to be led by the Holy Spirit knowing unless the
Holy Spirit does not open their eyes to the deception they will never be
free from its bondages. We may get them physically out of their Church by
our persistence but soon or later they will turn back like a dog to its
vomit.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You alone are God and there is none other than You. The rebellious man
due to corruption causes them to hate You and worship evil spirits as gods.
Lord we pray for quickening in the lives of those who are your sheep that
their eyes may open to know You and know the Truth...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Luke 3:34-35
34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this
child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a
sign which shall be spoken against;
35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the
thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Jeremiah 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire,
and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the QUEEN OF HEAVEN, and
to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to
anger.

Jeremiah 44:25-28
25 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your
wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand,
saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense
to the QUEEN OF HEAVEN, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will
surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
26 Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the
land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that
my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the
land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.
27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the
men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword
and by the famine, until there be an end of them.
28 Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land
of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are
gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall
stand, mine, or theirs.

John 2:3-4

no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is
not yet come.

 Tongues - Are you mad?

1 Corinthians 14:23 If therefore the whole church be come together into
one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are
unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

Gather some Believers to discuss, throw in the topic ‘tongues’ and you will
see half of the lot calling it evil, something that was there before but is
not now, or the tongues that was in the NT speaks of an ability to speak in
many earthly languages without knowing them, they are against praying in
tongues unless one can translate/interpret what they are praying. Even
those who are pro speaking in tongues speak like they are speaking a
complex earthly language. I heard from a person teaching tongues by
repeating some words, as being very powerful!

The lack of knowledge of tongues makes people lose the purpose of praying
in tongues. They fail to understand at Pentecost the 120 spoke in tongues
and the three thousand outside HEARD THEM (collectively) speaking in their
individual languages. Tongues is a spiritual gift that lets us overcome our
worldly wisdom and understandings. It causes the spirit being to take
control over the natural being while communicating in the spiritual realm.
It is for this reason one will see the worldly wise as the first people to
reject praying in tongues.

The Holy Spirit appearing in the form of a dove while coming as a tongue of
fire over the disciples was to do with the understanding of tongues; and
the foolish world uses the symbol of dove as a symbol of the Holy Spirit or
a sign of peace. Noah let out a dove to find land even though a raven was
already doing that job. Any wise person who knows these two birds will
laugh at the wisdom of Noah, but yet Noah did this with the understanding
of tongues (as a shadow).

Praying in tongues, prophesying are some of the common spiritual gifts that
manifest when one is baptized in the Holy Spirit. Tongues is a Gift of the
Holy Spirit and yet we see Jesus never prayed in tongues, that does not
mean we do not have to. Like we sing and worship God in psalms continually
even though Jesus sang a hymn/psalm only once, that too right before He
went to the garden of Gethsemane.

In today’s message we see Paul advises the Church of Corinth not to pray in
tongues when people who are not Believers or people who lack understanding
are around. So let us be wise and not harden the hearts of those who belong
to these categories by forcing them to pray in tongues or praying in
tongues when they are around.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You are Spirit. Your Word says You desire your people
to pray in spirit and truth. Earthly wisdom is rejected by You and
considered foolishness. You gave us the gift of tongues which helps us
overcome our earthly wisdom and let the spirit take over when we pray in
tongues. We pray we understand the purpose of tongues and use it to bless
us more and more...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 2:5-12
5 Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation
under heaven.
6 And when this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were
confounded, because that every man heard them speaking in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying, Behold, are not all
these that speak Galilaeans?
8 And how hear we, every man in our own language wherein we were born?
9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, in
Judaea and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Asia,
10 in Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene,
and sojourners from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11 Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our tongues the mighty
works of God.
12 And they were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another,
What meaneth this?

Matthew 3:16 And Jesus when he was baptized, went up straightway from the
water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of
God descending as a dove, and coming upon him;

Matthew 26:30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out unto the mount
of Olives.

Genesis 8:6-12
6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the
window of the ark which he had made:
7 and he sent forth a raven, and it went forth to and fro, until the
waters were dried up from off the earth.
8 And he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from
off the face of the ground;
9 but the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned
unto him to the ark; for the waters were on the face of the whole earth:
and he put forth his hand, and took her, and brought her in unto him into
the ark.
10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove
out of the ark;
11 and the dove came in to him at eventide; and, lo, in her mouth an
olive-leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off
the earth.
12 And he stayed yet other seven days, and sent forth the dove; and she
returned not again unto him any more.

Believers blaspheming!

1 Timothy 1: 20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered
unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

In one of my older messages I had explained the concept of Paul delivering
someone unto Satan, repeating in short. Paul had no understanding or deal
with Satan to deliver anyone to him. Paul knew calling one ‘brethren’ meant
extending the protection or blessings of God on one’ life on to the other.
We people do not understand the power of calling a Man or Woman of God as
brethren; it is as good as being family to that person or having that
person’s daily prayers.

Paul by disassociating himself from them opened the door for Satan. Paul
did this not to destroy them completely but by the suffering of the flesh
they will be saved in the spirit.

Coming to the reason why Paul took this drastic, last option. We read the
scriptures says they blasphemed; they were not unbelievers but believers,
we read in 2 Tim 2:17-18 the reason given, it says they denied
resurrection.

We need to understand there are some things which are core to our faith and
if we deny or twist them then it is considered blaspheme. When it comes to
blaspheming God then there is nothing grave than that. One is considered as
blaspheming only when one is aware and yet doing it. If one is ignorant of
the truth then it is not considered as blaspheme. The Greek word blasphemos
is a compound word and means to injure the fame. Can I injure the fame of a
person not famous? It is only when I am aware of the fame of the person and
try to harm it, then alone I can be accused of blasphemy.

The term blasphemy is different from insulting, the second part ‘pheme’ of
the Greek word translated as fame refers to report or testimony. Since it
is more connected with spiritual matters thus used only with God, His Name,
His Kingdom, His people etc...

We see the Jews stoned Stephen to death accusing him of blaspheming Moses.
We also see they took the name of Moses before the name of God, meaning
they worshipped Moses more than God. Catholics do not understand by their
worship of Mary they too are accused of blaspheme.

Yesterday during my hospital visit of the sister (who by God’s grace is
better and hopefully will be discharged today) I met 2 Catholic sisters who
got a shocked when I revealed the real Mary and the Catholic Church. I am
sure they will henceforth withdraw from doing what they did, but if they
continue even after knowing then they will be accused of blaspheme.

Let us understand blaspheme is a thing that only a believer can do and not
an unbeliever. Some translations mistranslate Goliath as blaspheming
instead of defying when he mocked the Israelites. Let us look at our core
faith and check if we have our basics in place, our foundation is clear,
that we are not blaspheming God out of the hardness of our hearts.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God, all flame and glory belongs only to You. Your Word alone
is never changing and eternal. Lord we pray You open our eyes if we are
blaspheming by the hardness of our hearts. We pray we do not lift people
above You or your blessings above You. We pray that only You Name is lifted
high in our lives...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
2 Timothy 2:17-18
17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and
Philetus;
18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is
past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

Mark 3:28-29
28 Verily I say unto you, All their sins shall be forgiven unto the sons
of men, and their blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29 but whosoever shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never
forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin:

Acts 6:11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak
blasphemous words against Moses, and God.

Knowing Christ from the OT

Luke 24:25,26,27 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to
believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have
suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses
and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the
things concerning himself.

In my 13 years as a Believer I have yet not come across one preacher or
teacher, who has preached or taught Christ in depth from the OT. Some have
touched bits and pieces but brushed only the surface, not hitting much
deep, giving milk or baby food rarely solid food.

Although the NT is mostly about Christ yet what we know of the Lord Jesus
Christ from the NT is not even 20-25% of Him. There is much, much more of
Him in the OT than in the NT.

Let me take an example the term Yahweh is a coined word by putting vowels
made so as to be able to pronounce ‘YHWH’ the word used for the Lord.
Almost all think Yahweh is the name of the Father; they do not know it is
not a name but more an acronym. The Hebrew alphabets are ideogram like the
Egyptian language; each alphabet represents a set of words or objects. The
word YHWH represents BEHOLD HAND BEHOLD NAIL. It actually is the Lord Jesus
Christ before He humbled Himself and came as man. When this is understood
by a person the very next question to come is ‘where all then is it written
of the Father’.

What the NT talks of the suffering of Christ is just minuscule to His
suffering which is from the foundation of creation.

You may notice almost all of my messages are from the NT; very, very rarely
it is from the OT. We as a Church are lacking spiritual maturity and
understanding. We love people who teach us simple things, short messages,
things that do not cause us to change drastically. The problem is we love
this world, things of this world very much and do not want to let go of
them easily.

When I say this it includes almost all the so called famous preachers,
local and international. I have seen some who started on a good note and as
they prospered financially they did not spiritually grow but went back to
baby food; today they mostly preach the ‘Prosperity Gospel’ which people
love to hear – a Gospel that goes against the Gospel of Jesus Christ as
preached by the Apostles.

When I preach in Churches, I pray to the Lord for the topic to preach on,
and I get topics of solid food mostly when I preach in Churches where
people are not well to do. In mega-Churches and well to do Churches the
topic are mostly milk and baby food, not solid food.

Let our flesh not be a hindrance to our spiritual growth. Let us let go of
our desires of this world and let us allow the Spirit of the Lord to
minister us. Let the Spirit of the Son reveal the Son to us.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are God. Your Word says You are one and yet
it speaks of the Father, Son and Spirit. Lord we pray You open the eyes of
the people to know You, we pray You transform their hearts to surrender and
desire your Kingdom more than the kingdom of this world...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 8:56-59
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad..
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast
thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham
was, I am.
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and
went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

John 10:29-31
29 My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and none [man] is
able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
30 I and [my] Father are one.
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world,
and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom
thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

Being crucified to the world and world unto us

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of
our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto
the world.

Crucifixion was the most shameful death which was given by the Romans. It
was not a regular punishment but done rarely once a year or even once over
many years only to the hardest or hard criminals. The Romans had readymade
stone crosses put outside large cities for this; they were more for driving
fear into the people. Romans were not the people who invented the concept
of crucifixion Bible says it was the Philistines who did it (do not confuse
them with Palestinians of today). They would put a pole outside the city
and hung people to the pole to die a cruel slow death by extreme nature and
birds pecking the flesh. It was not just to kill the victim but more to
drive fear into the citizens.

The Philistines were overthrown by the Assyrians who took forward the
crucifixion punishment and even modified the methods further such that I
cannot even write about it. The Assyrians were one of the worse kinds of
kingdom that has ever existed on the earth; the methods they used to drive
fear in their enemy would put even Hitler to shame. History says Hitler got
his inspiration from the Assyrians but being a Catholic he refrained from
copying them totally. Nineveh was the capital of Assyria and only by study
of history one can understand the hatred of Jonah against them.

Today’s message talks of us being crucified to the world and the world to
us. Being crucified does not just mean a simple death but a shameful
example. That means we do not just cut out from the world but be an example
like Christ on the cross. Since all the precast (stone) crosses were full
(some books talk of there being nine) Jesus had to be crucified on a wooden
crucifix which was carried to that place (this was to fulfill OT prophecies
and sacrifices as recorded in the books of Moses).

Christians think dying to the world is a quick death which we called to.
They do understand the process is a slow death and a painful death that
drags over a long period. This death is not private or internal only but a
public death that is manifested externally.

People are deceived to believe that Christianity is a private belief. Our
good works may be hidden but today’s scripture says we are called to be a
public display of the world dead to us and us to the world.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Holy and Righteous God. You are also a Merciful God. In your
mercy Lord You made a way for us to enter Heaven and be reconciled to You
and inherit your Kingdom. You pour your abundant grace yet we are called to
die to our carnal being and be an example to the world like You as man
were. Lord we pray You give us the courage and strength to be a true
Christian...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
2 Samuel 21:12 And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of
Jonathan his son from the men of Jabeshgilead, which had stolen them from
the street of Bethshan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the
Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:

Colossians 2:20-23
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world,
why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and
doctrines of men?
23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and
humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying
of the flesh.

Covenants of Bondage and of Freedom

Galatians 4:25, 26 Now this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia and answereth
to the Jerusalem that now is: for she is in bondage with her children. But
the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is our mother.

Today’s message talks of two covenants and compares them to that of the
sons of Hagar and of Sarah!

We know the Law was given by the Lord at Mount Sinai and we read in Exodus
19 before the Law was given, the Lord told Moses to get the people
sanctified so that they do not perish/die by the wrath of God and we see
again and again in Exodus 19 the Lord reminds Moses about the people
approaching the mount unsanctified when the glory of God was on it. Moses
thought the Lord spoke about washing and about making themselves clean
naturally.

The verse before today’s message in Galatians talks of the symbolism. The
commandments given on two tablets of stone were like Hagar, a law of
bondage. Christ did not say these commandments have to be changed, but
reiterated them as Laws of the Lord. But then Jesus Christ summed them into
2 Commandments one loving God unceasingly and second loving His people
unceasingly.

Today’s message tells us what Paul wrote in Romans 14:23 anything that is
done without understanding is sin. Children of bondage do not inherit but
sons do. Bible says to be Sons of God we need to be led by the Spirit of
God - the Spirit of Truth.

On Mount Sinai the Law was written on stones by the Finger of the Lord
symbolizing the Holy Spirit but when we are baptized in the Holy Spirit the
Law is written on our hearts (spiritual). Also we can only be baptized in
the Holy Spirit if we sanctify ourselves, not by washing our natural body
but by sanctification through repentance, the washing of our hearts.

We can be citizens of the earthly Jerusalem that receives natural
blessings, protection and prosperity from the Lord but is like Ishmael the
son of Hagar, or we can be citizens of Heavenly Jerusalem which receives
spiritual blessings and inherits the Kingdom of God like Isaac the son of
Sarah. The choice is ours, work in the flesh or work in the spirit.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Awesome God. Your ways are not the ways of man. You Lord are
Spirit and your ways are Heavenly. Lord we pray we overcome the flesh and
be led by the Spirit and not by the flesh. We pray our obedience is of the
spirit and not of the flesh...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Galatians 4:23,24
23 Now the son by the servant-woman has his birth after the flesh; but the
son by the free woman has his birth through the undertaking of God.
24 Which things have a secret sense; because these women are the two
agreements; one from the mountain of Sinai, giving birth to servants, which
is Hagar.

Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth
not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the
house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in
their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God,
and they shall be my people.

Unwanted talk

1 Timothy 1:5,6 Now the end of the commandment is charity [love] out of a
pure heart, and of a good conscience [discernment], and of faith unfeigned
[sincere]: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain
jangling [talking];

In today’s message the Lord is speaking to us about our problem of useless
talk, this includes things like gossiping and mocking or joking. The Lord
through Paul’s letter to Timothy tells us the 3 things that cause us to do
this, as stated as:-

1) Lack of love from a pure heart – it is when we lack genuine love towards
people or purpose, we gossip about them. Talking of people and gossiping is
different. If our discussion is not bringing fruit or edifying anyone then
it is called gossiping.

2) Lack of good discernment – knowing right from wrong is called
discernment. People talk of people’s mistakes because they see them but the
reason of talking it with others is something they do not discern. How will
that person correct himself or herself by us talking to others who cannot
directly help that person or in that situation?

3) Lack of sincere faith – we gossip about people because we do not have
faith in God. We call people useless or belittle them because we either
write-off God, consider Him nonexistent or consider Him not potent to do
anything in that person’s life.

Sharing a person’s testimony [for other’s to learn from] is not gossiping
but talking of that’s person’s mistake to someone else so as to put that
person down is gossiping or idle talk. If someone makes a mistake we need
to correct that person directly or with the help of others. If we have not
done that or tried doing that then we do not have the right to talk to
others about it.

Next time we talk of people let us step back and see why are we talking of
the person. Let us look at the reason we joke about people or about their
doings. Let our words be words that edify, having good purpose and not idle
/ harming words.

Today’s message tells our idle words are not idle / useless words but words
that exposes us, exposes our inner-man and our faith.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. Lord Your Word edifies and builds. Lord we pray
our words too have a purpose when they leave our mouths. We pray we discern
ourselves and our purpose more than discerning others. We pray we do not
become instruments of evil in the name of fellowshipping with people...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Proverbs 15:4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness
therein is a breach in the spirit.

refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

Do not lust for things that can destroy

1 Corinthians 10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we
should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Believers think just believing is sufficient, they live their lives as they
like, contrary to the Word and still expect to go to Heaven. They think
grace is like a getaway pass that covers even their backsliding.

One needs to know grace is received only because of our faith in Christ. If
I do not have faith then I cannot receive grace. This grace needs to be
continual, I need to remain in grace thus I need to remain in faith, so the
day I reject Christ I lose grace and am doomed.

Now if I say I believe in Christ can I reject His teachings, so to be in
faith I need to exercise my faith. I cannot say I am a born-again, walking
in spirit and still walk in the flesh seeking the things of the flesh.

God does not expect us to overcome every evil or every area of our lives in
one day, He understands our weakness that is why He gave us His Spirit. Now
if we reject His Spirit than can we have an excuse not to overcome?

God desires we make sincere efforts to overcome and this is sufficient for
Him. Even if we fall a hundred times yet we should make it a point to
battle our weaknesses and do it not by our efforts but with the help of the
Holy Spirit. David was called a man according to the heart of God even
though he did grave mistakes.

Let us not fool ourselves to vanity like today’s message tells us the first
lot of Israelites that left Egypt saw the glory of God like none others,
yet we see they backslided time and again and were stiff necked, not
mending their ways. Bible tells us they saw vanity and died not only
natural death but doomed to spiritual death.

Let us not be like them seeking miracles and the glory of God in the
natural and reject the spiritual transformation. Let us be people led by
the Spirit of God, transformed from inside out, radiating the light of
Christ.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You are Spirit. To inherit your Kingdom we too need to
be more spirit led and overcome the things of the flesh. Lord we pray we do
not seek the pleasures of the flesh but seek the things of your Kingdom.
Let us not deceive ourselves and seek things that destroy our spirit, that
too justifying them taking your name by twisting your Word...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Corinthians 10:1-5
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all
our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that
spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown
in the wilderness.

Jews first and then Gentile

Romans 2:8,9 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the
truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation and
anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also
of the Gentile;

We see a large number of Christians run after Israel and the Jews making
them first class citizens of Heaven, they do not understand they nullify
their faith by this. They nullify the covenant of grace through faith which
is for all flesh irrespective of race, color, gender, age or caste.

Romans is one epistle through which Paul hits out at the arrogance of the
Jews who considered themselves as first citizens of Heaven. In today’s
message he says they are also the first citizens of Hell. He tells them if
they do evil and live an unrighteous lives they will be the first to face
wrath, tribulations and anguish.

Our problem is in differentiating between symbolism and natural reference.
When the term Israel is used we need to identify if God is speaking of the
people of Israel or those whom He has called to become Israel (which means
Princes of God symbolizing Sons of God).

All names in the Bible have meanings for a purpose and we need to
understand their symbolism. It is for this reason at times a name like
Jerusalem in OT is spelt in 2 different ways in Hebrew, one specifying to
the natural place and second to its symbolism. So scriptures like ‘prayer
for Jerusalem’ does not specify to the natural Jews but to its symbolism
which means those who are growing in the Lord, the spiritually little.

Let us not make our belief like Hinduism which has 330 million gods but all
in India, with no gods to look after the other countries, or like Islam
which is centric to Arabia inducing its culture across the world.

Our God is God of all mankind; no doubt He used the people of Israel to
send His message of salvation to the world that does not make the
Israelites holier than others but only more answerable. That is the
yardstick used even with us, if we are blessed more than we are more
answerable to God irrespective of our background or testimony. We may have
been murderers or just simple people, if we are blessed more, then God
expects more of us, we cannot justify our past as an excuse.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Creator of all the world. For You Lord all are alike, but
only those with faith are considered your children and eligible to inherit
your Kingdom. Lord we pray we do not take our background as justification
or for granted. We pray we understand if more is given unto us, more is
expected of us...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the
power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first,
and also to the Greek.

Romans 3:28-30
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the
deeds of the law.
29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of
the Gentiles also:
30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith,
and uncircumcision through faith.

Romans 3:9-12
9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before
proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become
unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 2:28-29
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that
circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the
heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men,
but of God.

Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for
the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

Regarding the Son of Perdition - the man of sin

2 Thessalonians 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told
you these things?

Last time I pointed out how we are misled by Preachers and so called
Prophets who state the Son of Perdition [destruction] would call himself as
the ‘Christ’. We also have movies on this topic because of the general
acceptance of this falsehood.

Paul in today’s scripture reminded the Church of Thessalonica what he spoke
to them about the Son of Perdition. If we read the previous 2 verses we see
the last days come only after the coming of this character. This character
declared himself not as Christ but as ‘god’ and speaks like God. He causes
people to worship him as god.

Not going too much in details, one knows the OT is a shadow of the New.
Almost all things in the OT has a purpose for us to understand things that
are yet to come. In the OT we have the kingdom of Babylon and its fall is
given in great details. If we note in Revelation the false bride or the
Church which calls itself a ‘Christian Church’ but is the source of all
whoredom is also called ‘Babylon the Great’. Bible says this Church like
Babylon will fall in a short period (which is written as day/short time may
be over a year or two) and is expected very soon. This Church will go in
exile and later will come back to be headed by this character called the
Son of Perdition. The level of deception that will exist at that time would
be so great that all will fall for it, including the highly spiritual and
knowledgeable ones. It is only after the coming and going of this character
is Satan and the Beast revealed and destroyed.

With the coming of the Son of Perdition / Destruction we are told of untold
destruction and think of natural violence, but if we look at scripture it
does not talk of physical destruction but spiritual destruction since he is
also called the man of sin and Paul also spoke about there existing a false
peace in the end days. It talks of people being led by the Son of Perdition
to sin in the name of God.

Let us understand one thing Satan (plural) wants us to enjoy this world so
that we do not enter the real world that is Heaven. God on the other hand
tells us to suffer this world by controlling our natural desires so that we
enjoy the real world that awaits us. We will not be there during the coming
of the Son of Perdition but our children / their children will; let us be
an example for them so that they do not be victims to the great deception.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God seated in the Upper Heavens. Even though You are
omnipresent yet the Upper Heavens is called your abode for your glory shine
from there. You Lord desire us the best but Satan does not want us to
receive what he lost and deceives us with falsehood and vain pleasures. We
pray Lord we learn to sober our desires so that we do not lose that is
permanent for the temporary...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
2 Thessalonians 2:3-12
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except
there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son
of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that
is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing
himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth
will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with
the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his
coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and
signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they
should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had
pleasure in unrighteousness.

1 Thessalonians 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden
destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they
shall not escape.

Action and faith

John 20:8 Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the
sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

We see in today’s scripture, John who ran first to the tomb believed only
when he entered the tomb after Peter had entered and picked up the napkin
lying on the floor.

If we play back a few minutes before they reached the tomb we would be
seeing John running at high seep before everyone, seeing this we would
think he was a man of great faith therefore he was before everyone. But
that is not the case, even though he was before everyone yet scripture says
he only believed after he saw the tomb empty and things set as per OT
prophesy.

Faith and works / action are related, yet not. Faith without action is not
considered as faith, and action by itself does not imply existence of
faith, it is like fire and heat. If there is fire there will always be
heat, but one cannot claim the existence of fire without heat; even cool
flame has 400 degree temperature. On the other hand if there is heat it
does not imply there is a fire burning.

If we have faith and do not act in faith then that faith is a deception;
also if we act it does not necessary mean faith exist in us. Acting in
faith is necessary if we say we believe and do not put it in action then we
are deceiving ourselves with the existence of faith. At times like in
today’s message we can be like John who acted and then received faith.

Let us Christians be people of action. Let us act in faith and if we lack
faith let us act in hope so that we receive faith. But let us not be people
of dead works, which are works / actions with neither hope nor faith for
Bible says anything done (concerning God) without faith/hope is sin even if
it looks good to mankind.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are God. You created all things and all
things are created by You and through You. Even though You knew of the
turns of events yet You allowed it to happen for You knew all things will
come in line according to your plans which are good. Lord we pray we always
believe You are in control and everything happens for the good of those who
believe in You. Let us not be people of words but people of action...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works?
Nay: but by the law of faith.

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the
law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus
Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the
works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

James 2:14,17,18,26
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and
have not works? can faith save him?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy
faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is
dead also.

Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth
not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
