At the end it is HIM - His Name

1 Corinthians 15: 24,25 Then cometh the end, when he shall have
delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put
down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he
hath put all enemies under his feet.

When you ask someone what will apocalypse / the end of the world be like
and they will come out with something gore, with people being physically
killed, blood all over the place, darkness everywhere, with loud shrieks
and cries being heard as demons running around the place killing people.

The problem with people is they are so much in the flesh that they cause
not only demons but also God to be a being in the flesh (old man). True
God is described as 'ancient' in the Bible but that does not mean He is
an old man. There was an English movie on Moses (Exodus: Gods and Kings)
where God was shown as a young boy. True God is younger than any of us
and yet older than anything that ever exist because God is beyond time;
time was created by Him. Can we age anyone who is eternal / timeless?

This natural world was created because something that happened in the
spirit world that needed to be corrected, thus the result also will be
more spiritual than natural. With the coming again of Christ and He
declaring His Name (Who He is) will cause all that is natural to cease
existing.

Bible says He will come not as God but as Son of Man (Man) and will come
with His Angels. In other verses like the verse before today's message
says First Fruits. It is after this that every being (even the Angels in
Heaven) surrenders or bows to Him. When Bible says 'surrender to Him' it
does not mean physically surrendering to the man Jesus but surrendering
to His Name. Name also does not mean the word Jesus, Iesus, Yeshua or
Joshua; it means the Name / Nature / Image of God that was in Him and at
the end is restored in mankind (Sons of God).

The whole battle of creation is all about restoration of the Image of
God which got corrupted due to sin. God created man so that His light
may shine in man and through man the darkness that existed before this
creation was be overcome. God the Son as Son of Man and His Spirit leads
us to overcome this darkness so that the Heavenly Temple / Heavenly Body
/ Heavenly Jerusalem is restored.

Can liquid battle against solid or against gas. It is only when they are
in the same state that they can overcome each other.

Let us get it into us that this battle is spiritual and not natural and
the victory is also spiritual. So let us arm ourselves with all
spiritual weapons and also put on all the spiritual battle gear that
protects us.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are God and You are Spirit. Lord your Word says unless we are
not born from above we will not enter the Kingdom of God, those who are
led in the Spirit are Sons of God. Lord we pray we understand the battle
is spiritual and this battle is first with in us. We pray Lord we
understand the importance to overcome our own selves so that we
collectively with Jesus Christ may overcome the darkness that was before
this creation and your Name be lifted up...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

1 Corinthians 15:22-28

22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they
that are Christ's at his coming.

24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to
God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all
authority and power.

25For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

26The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

27For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all
things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did
put all things under him.

28And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also
himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may
be all in all.

Matthew 13:41The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall
gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do
iniquity;

Matthew 16:27For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father
with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

1 Thessalonians 4:16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with
a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise first:

2 Thessalonians 1:7-10

7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be
revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that
obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of
the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in
all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in
that day.

Matthew 25:41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart
from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and
his angels:

Ephesians 6:12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this world, against spiritual wickedness in high.

1 Corinthians 15:44,46

44It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a
natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

46Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is
natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

Vain babblings is dangerous

2 Timothy 2:16,17 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will
increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a
canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

It is said if a lie which is big or unbelievable is repeated again and
again over a long period of time, people start to believe it. Islam and
many mythological religions are a testimony to this fact.

Most Christians believe by repeating something, be it saying or hearing
affects a person. They are quick to point to Romans 10:17 which they
assume says 'faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God'. I do
not blame them for this misunderstanding; the problem is with the
translators. If one has studied Greek and checked the text the first
word 'hearing' is in passive tense and the second word is in active
tense that is why many new translations put it as 'hearing by the Word'.
In English the proper word would be 'listening' which means to
understand and accept it.So faith comes not by hearing and hearing the
Word but comes by hearing and listening to the Word.

Even Proverbs 18:21 is misunderstood as by speaking things happen, if
that was true then all could fly by just saying it. Jesus said things
happen only by believing. Yes we could fly if we believe, but we need an
unshakable truth to believe in that is if we find a verse in the Word of
God that tells us this then it will truly happen. Proverbs 18:21 uses
the word 'fruit'. Our words are like flowers and our thoughts do the
work of pollinating the flowers. If we say anything mindlessly without
thought, or we reject words spoken then they make no effect on us. But
if we give thought to the words irrespective of little or more, we
pollinate those flowers and they start to bear fruit in our lives.

Today's message tells us not to babble vain things, we may know they are
nonsense but then by repeating them, soon our thoughts may pollinate
them and those vain words may become believable words.

Today's verses mentions two people Hymenaeus and Philetus who stated
that resurrection was a thing of the past. People knew it was
nonsensical but yet they kept repeating it and thus got into dangerous
area of landing up believing it.

Let us discern what we speak and avoid joking specially on things
concerning the faith. Also Christians studying other beliefs
(Apologetics) need to be careful that their faith is first strong so
that they do not land up believing vain beliefs and giving up the real
Truth.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You alone are God and there is none other than You that is why You
said I AM WHO I AM. Lord we pray we understand the power of the words
that we speak or communicate, that they can destroy others and our own
selves. We pray we give thought to what we speak, write or communicate
electronically. May our communication be to edify and not harm...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Romans 10:17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Proverbs 18:21Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they
that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

2 Timothy 2:15-19

15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to
be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more
ungodliness.

17And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and
Philetus;

18Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is
past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

19Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal,
The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the
name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Mercy vs Righteousness

Titus 3:5,6Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Spirit; Which he shed on us abundantly through
Jesus Christ our Saviour;

Every Christian knows that works does not save anyone even if it is
works of righteousness, what saves them is grace. But in today's message
in Paul's letter to Titus we read Paul speaks of being saved by mercy
and renewal via the Holy Spirit. Did Paul change his stand? We also see
James speaks about the importance of works and says if works do not
exist then faith does not exist. Jesus said by faith we are saved so
what is the relation with faith and grace?

Paul did not change his stand nor did James contradict Paul or both
contradict Jesus. Most Christians do not understand the difference
between mercy and grace, the relationship between faith and grace and
they also do not understand between what kind of works is need for
salvation and why.

Mercy and grace in nature are same but the only difference between mercy
and grace is the quantity. Even though the quantity of mercy in grace
varies yet it speaks of all the mercy that is required to offset the
person across i.e. to qualify a person. It is true that by God's mercy
we are saved but this mercy depended on the will of God, if He desired
His mercy fell on a person and if He did desire no mercy was available
(Romans 9:15). In the OT people struggled for mercy and grace was given
only to a few (i.e. Noah, Abraham - men of faith). One cannot work to
gain mercy but yet mercy can be easily accessed by its Siamese twin that
is truth (Psalms 85:10). Faith means believing in the truth, so by faith
one can receive grace (the mercy required). There are many types of
graces here we are referring to grace that brings salvation.

With the coming of Jesus truth was declared openly so people who believe
in the truth (have faith) receive grace and thus are saved (John 1:17).
Before the coming of Jesus the truth was known only to a few and those
who believed it received grace.

Now coming to works, there are two types of works one is works of faith
and other works of righteousness. We are called to do works of faith not
works of righteousness. If we say we have faith and this does not
manifest into works then it is like a person saying I had a bath but
without getting wet! No Christian is a Christian if they do not do works
of faith and without works of faith no one can enter the Kingdom of God
/ Heaven. Jesus said only those who do the Will of My Father will enter
My Father's House.

Works of righteousness are also an important part of Christian life but
these are not what we do but what the Spirit of God does through us.
When the truth starts to get established in us via the Spirit of Truth,
we start to manifest works of righteousness; that is why Paul says in
today's message the 'renewing via the Holy Spirit', implying not what we
do but what the Holy Spirit does it through us.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Righteous and Holy God. The only language You understand is
the language of faith. Without the truth one cannot have faith. You God
are Truth and your Word is Truth and with knowing either we cannot have
faith. It is only when You manifested in flesh man started to know You
and thus faith and salvation was available to all. Lord we pray we
understand the importance of knowing your Word and letting the Holy
Spirit work in us. Lord we pray let our faith be proven by our works of
faith and let the working of the Spirit be manifested by works of
righteousness...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Ephesians 2:8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Romans 9:15For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have
mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

John 1:17For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by
Jesus Christ.

Psalms 85:10Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace
have kissed each other.

Genesis 6:8But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Lord is Longsuffering

2 Peter 3:9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

When we take the word 'longsuffering' people think it has to do with
suffering and tolerating problems and persecution. We have Catholics who
believe sickness as coming for God so that people get the fruit of
longsuffering since it is counted among the Fruits of the Holy Spirit.
Can God give a snake when we ask for fish or stone if asked for bread?
Jesus says our earthly fathers do not do that so how can we expect God
to do that.

Longsuffering is not about tolerating suffering but about tolerating the
deficiency of others or of a situation while waiting for change. This
tolerating is not endless since it is not called eternalsuffering but
called longsuffering; that means there has to be an end, a change even
if it takes time.

Our God is longsuffering towards us, that's why He bears our deficiency,
our weakness, our stubbornness etc. so that we change soon or later and
turn to Him. If the Lord was not longsuffering then He would have judged
us the moment we sinned and finished everything there and then. His
Longsuffering also helps to prove to ourselves our evilness. This world
exists because our God is longsuffering.

Today the Lord is asking us like we are called to be holy for He is Holy
so also we are called to be longsuffering towards others for He is
Longsuffering. We are called to bear each other while continuously
pursuing change in them. Change may not do it in a day, a month, a year,
it may take years but we need to change them and bear them till they
change. We need to do that for our God has done and is doing the same
with us.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Longsuffering. When You created man You knew he would fall
and reject You. You knew he would turn against You and be filled with
evil, yet You Lord created him and called him good. You Lord know at the
end You will succeed in changing man and bringing him back unto You. You
rejoice with the end and thus bear the present. Help us Lord to do the
same with those whom You have given unto us in our lives, our ministry,
our families...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Luke 11:11-13

11If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give
him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

12Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit
to them that ask him?

Galatians 5:22-23

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith,

23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ephesians 4:2With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering,
forbearing one another in love;

1 Timothy 1:16Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first
Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them
which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Romans 9:22What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power
known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to
destruction:

Eternal hope

John 21:14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his
disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.

In today's message the Lord is continuing to teach us about
resurrection. In the message there are two things which are of
importance that Jesus showed Himself three times to His disciples after
His resurrection, if this three times was not important than it would
not have been mentioned. Secondly the rendering of the words 'risen from
the dead'.

We need to understand when the word 'shall' is used it includes the one
who is speaking. Grammatically we cannot say 'I shall' or 'you shall' it
has to be 'I will' or 'you will', we can say 'we shall'. Shall is used
with we not I or you yet we see many places the commandments of God are
written as 'you shall' and this is because the Law is abiding on the
Lord Himself. Even when He promises or requests us to do something and
uses the word 'shall' that means He too is part of it and will help us
in getting it fulfilled.

We see in the Bible the Lord as a statute says at the mouth of two or
three witnesses an incident / truth will be established. That means if
two or three people confirm a matter then that matter needs to be given
importance. God gave us this statute not for us to use it for our law of
the land for witnessing of worldly man cannot be trusted but people of
God can be. This statue helps us study and confirm an understanding from
the Bible. So if we have an understanding we need to produce 2 or 3
scriptures to back it [that is why all important things are repeated in
one or the other book]. But if we find even one scripture that speaks
against it we need to drop that understanding since our interpretation
has a problem. Jesus followed this statute therefore made sure He was
seen of them at least three times.

Since Islam is a concoction of Judaism, Christianity and Sabian beliefs
we find the witnessing of two or three from the Bible is taken very
literately into Islam, so much so if a woman is raped she needs to
produce three witnesses to confirm her claim, else she is labeled as the
instigator of the evil. If she is married then she can be even stoned to
death for adultery, although she is the victim.

Yesterday we learnt about resurrection as rising from one level to
another as in from Hell or Grave to the level we dwell in. In today's
message we see the word 'risen' is not mentioned in the past, present or
future tense but written in the Aorist tense. In English we have
basically 3 tenses past, present and future, these in turn are sub dived
into simple (perfect) and continuous. In Greek we have seven tenses.
Aorist tense means past, present and future together.

Here the rising of Jesus from the death is rendered in the aorist tense.
If we know who Jesus and know about His sacrifice then we will
understand why this tense is used here. Bible says He became a sacrifice
from the foundation of creation even though He was crucified only about
2000 years back. It is only through this understanding we know why He is
called the eternal sacrifice not only in the future tense for those who
came after His crucifixion but even those before, like from the time of
Noah, Abraham, Isaac etc...

The Lord is telling us like the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ is
eternal so also His resurrection is, thus our hope in Him is also eternal.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God. Your Word says You humbled Yourself and
became our sacrifice from the foundation of creation. You Lord knew the
fall of man even before You created him so You made a provision for his
rise. Lord we pray we understand or resurrection is confirmed by your
eternal resurrection...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Deuteronomy 19:15One witness shall not rise up against a man for any
iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of
two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be
established.

Matthew 13:35That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet,
saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have
been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

Matthew 25:34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come,
ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world:

John 17:24Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be
with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given
me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

Ephesians 1:4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation
of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Hebrews 4:3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As
I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the
works were finished from the foundation of the world.

1 Peter 1:20Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the
world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Revelation 13:8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him,
whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from
the foundation of the world.

False Godliness

Matthew 21:30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he
answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

Today's message is about a parable in which Jesus spoke about a father
asking his two sons to work in his vineyard. The first initially denies
but then repents and goes to do the work. The second says yes but then
does not go. Jesus then asks the people as to who obeyed the father?

It was obvious that the first did the will of the father but that is
because we know the whole thing. Had we been simply present when the
father asked and not known what they really did then we would have
thought the second son was an obedient and faithful son.

We may think this as a one off case. Sorry, this is a usual case not a
one off. Jesus said many are called but few are chosen and the gate to
Heaven is narrow. If you look around deeply into people's hearts there
is spread of false godliness that has flooded the hearts of the people.
They live a life before people and another life within themselves.

Working in the Lord's vineyard is not about preaching or social service.
Working in the Lord's vineyard is about truth and against falsehood. It
is about love, mercy, compassion, sacrifice, overcoming the worldly
person and living the spiritual person.

Look at preachers, as his crowd increases the preacher starts to change.
It starts with his clothes, his cars, his lifestyle, his priorities, his
family and then his teachings. How does one identify such preachers or
leaders, is when you see they are not making disciples for the Lord but
making disciples for themselves. He will never tell his disciple go out
and make disciples, he will tell them stay and keep adding people unto me.

There is also a false godliness among the ordinary believers who attend
prayer meetings and pray for lost souls but never go out and minister to
lost souls. They believe Christianity is a religion, religion is a
personal choice and all have a right to choose.

Let us always remember God is not a man whom we can fool. Let us always
remember He knows our tomorrow even though we have not stepped into it.
So let our hearts be true and let it bear fruit unto His Kingdom.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty and All Knowing God. Lord You know everything yet
You ask of us, You do so to expose the true nature with in us, so that
we cannot have any excuse when we stand before You. Lord we pray You
make our spiritual limbs strong that we may not lack desire and open our
eyes to the Truth that we may not go stray...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Matthew 28:19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit:

Matthew 21:28-32

28But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the
first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

29He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

30And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and
said, I go, sir: and went not.

31Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him,
The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the
publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

32For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed
him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye
had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Growth of Christianity

Acts 27:1And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they
delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a
centurion of Augustus' band.

In the Bible, the book of Acts records Paul as the one who laid the
grounds for Christianity in Rome and has no records of Peter ever
visiting Rome. We also see God had directed Paul (along with Barnabas)
to reach out to the Gentile nations and Peter (along with John and
James) to minister to the Jewish Christians, yet we find the Catholic
Church believes Peter to be founder of the Church in Rome and thus
ordained him as the first Bishop of Rome (Pope).

Peter was indeed selected to lead the other apostles before Paul and
Barnabas came into the picture and it was not just Peter, it was John
and James also who were selected along with Peter. That is why Jesus
spent quality time with them compared with others. Paul acknowledges
this five men team in his letter to the Galatians, he stated this five
members team were the core group; with Peter, John and James working
with the Jews and Paul and Barnabas working with the Gentiles.

So unless the Catholics do not consider themselves as Jewish Christians
they cannot ordain Peter as their first Pope.

We see in today's message the Romans had set Julius a centurion to
escort Paul to Italy and also guard him from the radical Jews who were
out to kill him. If we were in Paul's place we would have considered
Julius to be counted along the enemies, as ones who hated Christians and
had Paul in chains, under restrained freedom, but we see with the events
that took place on the journey the mindset of Julius changed and caused
him to have great respect for Paul. Not only did he respect Paul but was
instrument to letting Paul minister for 2 years in Rome that too
protected by Roman soldiers (under house arrest).

Paul experienced problems during his journey, during that period his
faith was shaken at times to low points, but at the end he came out
stronger. During this working of the Lord on him, the Lord also worked
on the so called enemies of Paul and changed them to be an unimaginable
blessing for Paul and his mission.

If you and I are going through rough waters and having people around us
who resist our ministry or our faith walk, like Paul experienced in his
journey, let us acknowledge the Lord working on us and also on those who
are around us.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God and a Jealous (Zealous) God who is very
possessive of His children, yet Lord at times You allow storms to come
and shipwreck our plans. You allow us to come to moments of
hopelessness. But then You Lord show your glory and cause greater,
unimaginable things to manifest. At the end You Lord will have your say
in all things. We pray we learn to trust in You and remember You cause
all things to come to good...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Galatians 2:7-9

7But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision
was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

8(For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the
circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

9And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived
the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right
hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto
the circumcision.

Acts 22:21And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence
unto the Gentiles.

Acts 28:30-31

30And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received
all that came in unto him,

31Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern
the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Romans 8:28And we know that all things work together for good to them
that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

The Rich Disciples of Jesus

John 19:38-40

38And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but
secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away
the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and
took the body of Jesus.

39And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by
night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound
weight.

40Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with
the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

Jesus had disciples across all sections of society for the poorest to
those who had abundance. We see Jesus confronted those who craved for
riches or depended on them a lot like the young rich man whom Jesus
asked to give away all he had and follow Him. But there were those like
Nicodemus who were rich but did not set their heart on their riches thus
Jesus did not compel them to give up their riches.

But there was a difference between those who were rich and those who
were not. Those who were rich could not spend more time with Him thus
were not rooted to the His teachings but those who did were better off.

In today’s message we see God did have a plan for those unstable rich
disciples of Jesus. In today’s message we see two rich disciple of Jesus
Joseph of Arimathaea and Nicodemus. One was used to provide the tomb in
which the body of Jesus was kept and where He resurrected from; the
other to provide the linen cloth in which his body was wrapped alone
with spices. This cloth fulfilled the prophecy of Peter being the person
chosen to lead the Jewish Christian. Both these disciple fulfilled
Jewish traditions but in a way fulfilled prophesy.

When a person died his or her body was to be buried, but the Jews
(Israelites) would keep the body of important people in caves. The first
such incident started with Abraham who bought land to have himself
buried on his death, but after he died they kept his body in a cave that
existed in that land. In the case of Moses God knew what this would lead
to so God hid his body such that the Jews do not find it at all.

With regards to the tradition of embalming the body with spices was done
after the Jews (Israelites) exile in Egypt. What Nicodemus did was
embalming the body with spices and was done by all Jews to bodies of
important people which were not buried. Catholics follow both
traditions, thus put the body in coffin (symbolizing a cave), embalm it
and also bury it.

But what the women of Galilee (including Jesus’ mother and others) were
going to do on the third day was something which only the Jews of
Galilee / northern Israel who were also called Samarians did. They would
follow the mummification process of body as per Egyptian traditions and
thus required large amounts of spices. This was exactly what was done to
Lazarus’ body and why his raising from the death shook the whole of
Judea that they sort to kill not only Jesus but even Lazarus.

Today God is telling us He has a plan for everyone in His Kingdom some
to fulfill His Word and some to expose the foolishness of mankind. What
matters is how much time we spend with Him which will define where we
are used. If we are rich and pursuing riches we will not get time for
Him, to learn of His Kingdom. We may think we are following Him but may
be following the traditions of men like Joseph and Nicodemus did.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God and You alone are God. Lord in You alone is
the Truth for You are Truth and your Word is True. Lord we pray we
follow Your Word and become disciples not of the Son of Man Jesus Christ
but become disciples to the Words that the Son of Man Jesus Christ
spoke. May we follow His Word and His Spirit and thus know the Truth and
be set free from corruption and sin...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

John 12:9-13

9Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came
not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he
had raised from the dead.

10But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;

11Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed
on Jesus.

12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they
heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

13Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried,
Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Luke 23:55-56

55And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after,
and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.

56And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the
sabbath day according to the commandment.

Luke 18:22-24

22Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou
one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and
thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

23And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

24And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly
shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

Reasons they preach another Christ

Philippians 1:16-18

15Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of
good will:

16The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add
affliction to my bonds:

17But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the
gospel.

In today’s message we read Paul speaks of facing two types of people who
preached Christ, those who supported him and those who rebelled against
him. This was not something that Paul along faced, this even Jesus faced
for at His time there were people who preached the Kingdom of God but
were not with Him. This happened because people did not know Jesus nor
knew Paul.

Today also we have people who preach Christ but do not know Him. For
them name is all that matters so any ‘christ’ is Christ for them. So if
a ‘christ’ preaches or is preached that is against the principles of the
Kingdom of God, is still Christ for them; since all kinds of love is the
same, all kinds of peace is the same. They try to bridge the Kingdom of
God to the kingdom of this world since they want to dwell in and enjoy
the things of this world but also enjoy the blessing of the Kingdom of God.

It is very sad especially during this season to see the way people
deceive each other and the world not knowing they are trying to deceive
God all in the name of ‘Christ’.

People think the Gospel is all about God sending His Son as a hope when
there was no hope. They do not realize this is just part of the Gospel,
the other part demands that only those who believe in Him and are
baptized in Him will be saved.

When Jesus’ disciples went to stop the man who was preaching (casting
demons) in the name of Christ but was not with Him, Jesus restricted
them from doing so. Yes God does allow and use all those who preach
Christ or ‘christ’ but then what they gather makes difference. It is
better to have even 1 sheep than to have plenty of goats in the flock.

Gospel is a hope when we do not know Christ but when we know Christ it
becomes an assurance. Hope will not guaranty our entry to Heaven but an
assurance will. Unless we do not die to ourselves and let Christ live in
us we do not have the assurance of the Gospel. In us either the old man
of this world or the new man in Christ can dwell. We cannot fool God by
trying to have both living in us.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are a Righteous and Holy God. You God have called us to live a
holy Life. When we were in sin and were doomed You made a way for us and
did not stop there, You also gave us a Helper to take us along that way.
Lord we pray we stop trying to deceive You as a man deceives another
man. We pray we remember You know our thoughts and their reasons,
nothing is hidden from You. We pray we do not merge Christ your Holy one
to the ‘christs’ of this world...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Acts 26:6And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made
of God unto our fathers:

1 Thessalonians 1:5For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but
also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know
what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

Hebrews 6:11And we desire that every one of you do shew the same
diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

Hebrews 10:22Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of
faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our
bodies washed with pure water.

Matthew 24:24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets,
and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were
possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Luke 9:49-50

49And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in
thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

50And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us
is for us.

Matthew 12:30He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth
not with me scattereth abroad.

Unrighteous Greed

Acts 24:25-27

25And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come,
Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a
convenient season, I will call for thee.

26He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he
might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed
with him.

27But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix' room: and Felix,
willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.

The name Porcius in Latin means hog (large pig). Among Romans it was
common practice to take names from brute creatures like pig, goats
etc... We see when Porcius heard Paul speak with holy zeal he said into
Paul that he was not in control of himself and that all the knowledge he
had, had caused him to go mad. True to his name, Porcius did not know
the value of knowledge.

Porcius Festus had replaced Felix as governor of Judaea by his constant
complains of him to Nero. Felix as governor was very greedy but wanted
to show himself as a just ruler. He was expecting Paul to bribe him for
his release but since Paul did not, Felix kept him bonded in prison for
2 years to win the favor of the Jews.

Today the Lord is asking us if our righteousness is like Felix and
Porcius? It is because of greed do we blend the truth and show ourselves
as good Christians or it is due to our ignorance (unwillingness to know
the truth) that we do the things that we do?

December is the season where one wonders what Christianity is doing, and
that includes God Himself. Christians behave like Felix just to enjoy
worldly pleasures they try to show Christ in what they do. They also
behave like Porcius Festus stating they do not know the real thing thus
justify what everyone does.

We can give justifications for everything but at the end Truth is in
black and white, not in shades of grey. We can fool ourselves and the
world but we cannot fool God.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Holy God and in your Word You ask of us to be holy for You
are Holy. You also said in your Word that traditions of man only lead to
vanity and sin. Lord we pray we have courage to follow the Truth and not
traditions of man. Help us that we do not justify lies for the sake of
enjoying pleasures of the world. Help us to stand for the Truth even if
it means to sacrifice...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Acts 26:24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud
voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.

Galatians 1:13-14

13For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews'
religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and
wasted it:

14And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own
nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

Matthew 15:1-3

1Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,

2Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they
wash not their hands when they eat bread.

3But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the
commandment of God by your tradition?

Gathering treasures

Matthew 6:19 Lay [gather] not up for yourselves treasures upon earth,
where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves [false teachers]
break through and steal:

Most people think today's message talks of not having treasures of this
world. If we look at the scripture clearly it does not say not to have
but says not to gather such that moth and rust eat or erode it.

Moths do not attack things in a day but only when things are kept unused
for long periods of time does it start slowly eating into it, the same
with rust. An object that is used regularly does not rust, it is only
when the object is not used for a long period of time does moisture and
heat work on it and rust it. It even says if we continue hoarding
someday someone will come and steal / take it unlawfully from us.

God does not say it is evil to be rich. God says what we do with our
riches is what will make it evil or good. If we misuse our riches for
carnal pleasures it can destroy us. Today's message goes on to tell us
even if we do not use our riches and store them, then too it is evil.

You may wonder how evil?

We learnt from our previous message anything that is not good is evil.
Not doing anything is not standing in between but is counted among evil.

Bible is very clear sin is defined not as doing wrong but even when we
can do good and do not do it, it is considered sin.

Today's message does not talk only of natural treasures but speaks of
even spiritual treasures. If we see the scripture it does not says
'treasures of the earth' but says 'treasures on earth'. So it speaks of
all types of treasures which we have when we are alive in this natural body.

Gathering treasures in Heaven requires us to give what we have unto the
Kingdom of God. If we do not give unto the Kingdom of God then it is
with us here on earth.

Let us understand even if we do not use our spiritual riches like
skills, knowledge, wisdom and understanding, we will someday find we
have lost it by it getting eroded or eaten away by worldly thoughts. The
scripture warns us if we do not use it regularly then false teachers
will influence us and destroy our spiritual riches.

So let us use our riches both natural and spiritual to be a blessing by
putting them regularly in good use. Let us not be foolish and loose them
for vanity. Let us understand the more we use them for the Kingdom of
God the more it will grow.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God and there is none like You. Lord You blessed
us and made us to be a blessing for the nations. Lord we pray we
understand You are the source of all good things for You give and give
and give. Lord we pray we too learn to give so that we receive more and
more from You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Matthew 6:19-21

19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust
doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

James 4:17Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to
him it is sin.

Revelation 3:15-16

15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou
wert cold or hot.

16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will
spue thee out of my mouth.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 22 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Post  Admin Wed 21 Dec 2016, 11:30 pm

Day of the wicked man will be few

Psalms 109:8, 9 Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

The Chinese who worship spirits have a philosophy of yin and yang, of
good and evil. They believe evil needs to be complemented with good and
good complimented with evil. So for good to exist evil is necessary and
for evil to exist good is necessary. So evil is good!

This same philosophy exists in Hinduism although it is not openly
displayed that is why rakshasas (demons) like Ravan (villain king with
multiple heads) are also worshiped as holy men / divine immortal beings
(devas). In Islam we have the same story with jinns (evil spirits /
fallen angels), we find in some ayahs/hadiths they help man to find
shortcuts to attain access to Paradise. So in worldly religions good and
evil are blurred and justified. But in the Bible as in today's message,
tells us about the existence of wickedness but on the other hand does
not say it as good that it should continue but states it should be
quickly removed.

Today's message speaks of the days of the wicked be lessened and his
children be cursed to poverty and homelessness. Not only his children,
even his wife not be forgiven of her sins. We may find these scriptures
unfair that others in the family be punished for the sins of a person.

Let us look at Adam. Adam sinned for he loved Eve more than God. Even
though he knew what God had told him personally yet he conceded to the
request of his wife. Sin causes corruption to the inner-man (sin nature)
and this corruption get passed unto the children from father to children
unto four generations (it is not the sins that get passed on but it is
the sin nature that gets passed on). Since the father and mother become
one to bring forth a child thus the sin nature of the mother gets passed
to the children via the father. This was the very reason Jesus was of a
sinful virgin woman and yet was without any sin nature.

We see cases in the Bible like in that of Enoch who broke away from the
sin nature of his fathers by repenting and this pleased God and God took
him up. So though we may have the sin nature of our fathers but it is
our choice to act in it or not. If we reject it, we are cut off from
that nature and come into the nature of God (manifested in Christ).

The Lord is telling us we may be born of evil parents but it is our
choice to continue that evilness. If we continue our days will be
shortened and our children will also suffer. But if we reject the
evilness we will be blessed.

In Psalms 109:16-17 says the greatest evilness is not showing mercy to
the poor and needy man. Most are deceived into things it is about giving
alms or feeding and clothing the poor. Jesus and the Apostles did have a
heart for the poor and hungry but they did not dedicate their life or
ministry for that. They saw the poverty of the soul as greater poverty
than the earthly poverty. They gave importance to saving souls than
saving people of their earthly problems.

Let us too understand by giving alms or clothing the poor and needy does
not make us good people. We need to be truly concern of them thus we
need to save their souls, this alone is goodness.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You alone are Good. In Christ this nature was manifested and we are
called to be like Him so that we be like You. Lord we pray we understand
the importance of saving souls and work towards it every day of our
lives so that we are blessed and our families are blessed in us...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Psalms 109:10-19

10Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek
their bread also out of their desolate places.

11Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers
spoil his labour.

12Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any
to favour his fatherless children.

13Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let
their name be blotted out.

14Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let
not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

15Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the
memory of them from the earth.

16Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor
and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

17As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in
blessing, so let it be far from him.

18As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it
come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

19Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle
wherewith he is girded continually.

Genesis 5:1-2,23-24

1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God
created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

2Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their
name Adam, in the day when they were created.

23And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:

24And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Exodus 20:5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for
I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the
fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them
that hate me;

Being sorry and repentance

Matthew 27:4,5 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the
innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. And
he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went
and hanged himself.

In today's message we read about Judas realizing his mistake and being
sorry, he goes to the extent of even finishing his life yet we see Bible
says he was lost (not saved).

In the Old Testament we see another case but having opposite result, the
case of King Saul. King Saul was rejected by the Lord and the Spirit of
the Lord left him. He was also punished but we see in the end he was
saved. How do we know that?

If we see the words of the spirit of Samuel, Samuel informs Saul about
his death and of his sons by the end of the day. Samuel also goes on to
tell Saul that they will join him. Now Samuel was not in Hell so if Saul
and his sons joined him, then it means Saul was saved. That is why even
though the Spirit of the Lord left Saul and David hated him, yet David
knew Saul had to be respected since in spirit David knew somehow Saul
would be saved. It was for this reason David killed the man who falsely
claimed to have killed Saul. In the case of prophet Balaam we see even
though he was once greatly anointed yet the Israelites we led by the
Lord to kill him and make him a testimony.

Saul in the battle field on knowing he would be taken as a prisoner,
tortured, abused and killed, took his own life. He did that not fearing
the torture but respecting his self for once the Lord had anointed him.
He did not want them to disrespect the once anointed man.

King Saul turned to God in his death and was saved; Judas the son of
Simon on the other hand felt sorry, took his own life as a punishment
but did not turn to the Lord thus was lost. Feeling sorry or even
punishing oneself for one's own sins is vanity.

Long back as a Catholic during the time of Advent (which is considered
period of 40days before ChristMass) we had to go for confession to a
priest. At confession we would tell him of our wrong doings and he would
subscribe a penance in way of saying some prayers. Penance is not
Christian, that is exactly what Judas did.

Repentance is not about being sorry or punishing oneself. The Greek word
for repentance is a compound word made of two words 'with',
'understanding'. Repentance is not about rejecting but about accepting.
It is about following the right and not about rejecting the wrong. If we
reject the wrong but do not follow the right, it is vanity, but if we
follow the right then automatically we do not follow the wrong and thus
have rejected the wrong.

Being in Christ is not about not doing wrong but more of doing what is
right. Without repentance one cannot be a Christian that means a
Christian needs to be a doer, a doer of that which is right.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God. Even though the Bible says You rested in your
works yet we see in the Word You are not asleep but always have your
eyes set on us. You God are always there for your children. We pray Lord
we understand You did not call us to reject Satan but called us to
accept You. If we do not become doers of the right how are we to known
as your children...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

1 Samuel 28:7-19

18Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his
fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto
thee this day.

19Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of
the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the
LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.

1 Samuel 31:3-6

3And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him; and he
was sore wounded of the archers.

4Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me
through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through,
and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid.
Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.

5And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise upon
his sword, and died with him.

6So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his
men, that same day together.

John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name:
those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the
son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

Matthew 4:17From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent:
for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mark 2:17When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole
have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to
call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

How much do you hold in your account?

Matthew 6:20, 21 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where
neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break
through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be
also.

In India due to the demonetization everyone is concentrated on money,
since even if they have sufficient they cannot get access to it easy. A
person who has saved for many years is now helpless in case he or she
needs cash in emergency. The government talks of cashless economy but in
reality the country is far from it. It is like forcing a child to open
it mouth by holding its nose. We know at times children prefer to turn
blue but do not open their mouths.

We all know anything to do with finance or riches will have a system. On
earth be it cash or precious metal like gold or silver, or gems, or
property, all have a system defined by society which in a way can be
summarized today as banking system. Government banks today devaluate or
raise the value of a currency of a country according to guidelines; they
do the same to the price of gold, silver, oil etc. anything that is of
great demand and can affect the economy at large.

Almost 10 years back by way of an epic incident the Lord open my eyes to
the principles of the banking system in Heaven, unlike on earth the
riches are materialistic or based on the trust of a government (money is
a promissory note) but in Heaven all things are connected to the Spirit,
the gold or gems in Heaven are not like those on earth but are spiritual.

If we are going to travel to another country we make sure we have
sufficient currency of that country to meet our expenses there. Taking
currency of our country to that country is foolishness that too after we
are told there are no forex (foreign exchange) centers there and our
currency is invalid there. Rules of almost all countries require we
carry a basic minimum currency of the country of destination else one
cannot travel, so also we cannot travel to Heaven without minimum
balance and required approval in place.

Today's message talks of Heavenly riches. Most people foolishly think by
doing 'good' we can go to Heaven. I tell them like everything that is
yellow and shining is not gold therefore everything good according to
man is not good in the eyes of God. Even if we do the right good and
thus have spiritual riches yet without the approval document in place we
cannot travel, so also our faith in Jesus Christ gets us the required
approval to travel to Heaven in place.

One important fact Christians do not give due importance to is to at
least have the minimal balance so at to enter Heaven but if really want
to enjoy Heaven then we need to gather more of Heavenly riches. Remember
Heaven is not a flat place, there are different levels in Heaven and
according to what we hold we go to a level. The more we hold the nearer
to the Throne of God we get. Also more importantly remember Heaven our
eternal dwelling place, so once we go to a level we would most probably
be stuck at that level forever (since Bible does not cast any light in
this area).

Like I stated riches of Heaven are spiritual so to make sure we have the
right genuine riches of Heaven and plenty of it, we need to be baptized
in the Holy Spirit. The more we get baptized in the Spirit the more we
will gather riches for ourselves in Heaven.

In our yesterday's message the Lord spoke to us of repentance which we
learnt is about doing good, today the Lord is telling us the importance
of doing good, and also how to do good. Let us not be fooled that by
just believing in Jesus Christ we will go to Heaven. Jesus said unless
we are also baptized in the Holy Spirit we will not enter the Kingdom of
God.

[Prayer Starter]

Father God You are Spirit and your Kingdom is not made of materialistic
things but of precious spiritual things. Things made of matter will
perish when fire consumes it but things of the spirit do not perish by
any fire. Lord we pray we give importance to what we hold and gather for
ourselves in Heaven. Help us to gather not just the minimum required but
plenty so that we enjoy the best for eternity when we are placed near to
your glorious Throne...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and
remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Spirit.

John 3:3,5-7

3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again [from above], he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Miracle of Aeneas

Acts 9:34. 35And Peter said unto him, Æneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee
whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. And all that
dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

In the book of Acts Luke records an incident of Peter visiting a town of
Lydda which was on the west of Jerusalem, famous for Jewish doctors and
there Peter meet a man name Aeneas who was bed ridden for eight years.
His friends and those known to him had given up on him.

Interesting things about this man is his name. In Greek his name means
'to praise' or 'worthy of praise' but in Hebrew as Jerom puts it as
'misery'. Bible says the Greek sought wisdom [intelligence] and the Jews
sought signs.

Today's message is telling us we may be filled with knowledge of the
Bible or the things of the world connected to the Bible but when it
comes to signs and wonders we may be like misery, totally helpless.

We need to remember the Bible is the Word of God; it is a Living Word so
the knowledge of it should be alive and manifesting in us. If we have
the knowledge and it does not manifest, then we know about the Bible but
do not know the Bible. Knowing about God and knowing God are two
different things.

Let us not only have the knowledge of God but know God and manifest His
Word with signs and wonders. Let us not be an Aeneas famous in this
world but a misery in His Kingdom.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God. Your name itself is sufficient to bring the
dead to life or heal the sick. Lord when we learn your Word let us
remember the power it holds and we pray we manifest this power. Let your
Word not be just knowledge but a Living Word...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Acts 9:32-35

32And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came

eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

34And Peter said unto him, Æneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise,
and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

35And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands

The wisdom of Job

Job 6: 11-13 What is my strength [power], that I should hope? and what
is mine end, that I should prolong my life? Is my strength [power] the
strength [power] of stones [weighting stones]? or is my flesh [to bear]
of brass? Is not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me?

To understand the book of Job one need to know its background. Though
the Lord spoke to Noah, Abraham and others He basically declared His
covenant to them or spoke concerning certain events that existed at that
time. He started giving instructions with regards to salvation of
mankind and explaining things concerning creation only through Moses. So
before Moses there was nothings with regards to this matter, yet we see
Job who lived before Moses had great insight to things regarding the
Kingdom of God. The book of Job is the oldest book in the Bible, even
before Moses.

If one studies the book of Job one will see Job understood the unseen
from the seen, which means by understanding creation he understood the
creator that is why in this book we see examples of animals and other
natural beings and things are used a lot.

In today's message Job talks of the importance of wisdom. He states
wisdom as the power within him that helps him to know life.

Job (2100-1900BC) in his wisdom uses brass as an example. Brass is made
by adding zinc to copper. Increasing the zinc (up to max 39%) makes the
brass stronger than copper and tends to corrode less that is why used in
plumbing. Job by comparing his feeling to brass was asking if he was
hard and immute like brass.

Paul in Romans clearly says God can be seen from His creation. It is
like knowing the artist from this art. When God created everything He
did it with design / image of the invisible. That is why no man can have
an excuse before God saying they did not know Him. Even an Atheist knows
that God exist, but chooses to hate Him.

Wisdom is not knowledge. Reading and observing can give us knowledge the
ability to understand knowledge and process knowledge is called wisdom.
Wisdom can be received as a gift or by experience, either first hand or
from other's experiences. When we experience things directly or
indirectly we know and that gives us wisdom. Man is an outcome of
experiences, but for a Christian the Bible says if we pray and ask god
He will give us wisdom. So it is a matter of asking God and when we
declare for what purpose we need it like Solomon did, there are higher
chances of receiving it.

Knowledge and wisdom leads to understanding. Knowledge without wisdom
only puffs a person since understanding does not exist.

I always tell people either study the Bible, communicate with God and
gain wisdom or experience things in life and gain wisdom, choice is ours.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are God and Creator of all that exist. Your wisdom is beyond
comprehension. Lord we pray we being your children receive wisdom so
that we understand and not be victims of vanity. Help us Lord to be able
to see, discern and be saved both from the visible and the invisible...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Romans 1:20For the invisible things of him since the creation of the
world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are
made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without
excuse:

Colossians 1:23if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and
stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard,
which was preached in all creation under heaven; whereof I Paul was made
a minister.

Genesis 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature
that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their
kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Receiving the Holy Spirit

John 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on
him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that
Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Most Christians think because they accepted Christ as their savior they
have received the Holy Spirit. There are a few who think even if people
have not accepted Christ they still have the Holy Spirit in them. Both
these are not fully true.

True without the help of the Holy Spirit no person can accept Jesus
Christ as their Lord and Savior but no person by default receives the
Holy Spirit when they accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. What they
receive is the promise of the Holy Spirit.

In today's message we see it states the Holy Spirit was yet not given,
but we see the Men of God like Abraham, Moses, David etc. had received
the Holy Spirit.

The day of Pentecost was a day when the Holy Spirit was given to the
Church. There were 120 persons in the upper room (meeting hall above a
house) and all received. The close apostles had already received before
when Jesus breathe into them and said 'receive My Spirit'. What also
happened on that day was all including the Apostles were baptized in the
Holy Spirit.

Another false belief Christians have, 'since I have received the Holy
Spirit I am baptized in Him'.

When we believe in the promise of the Holy Spirit and claim that
promise, we do receive the Holy Spirit. But baptism in the Holy Spirit
means we need to surrender our lives to Him. The main purpose of the
Holy Spirit is that He separates us from this world belief system and
unites us in Christ. Spirit means life so if we claim the Holy Spirit we
need to manifest the life of God which means our life should be a holy
life. We may not change immediately but then if there is no little
change, can we say we have the Holy Spirit?

Day before yesterday a mature brother visiting Mumbai asked me where he
can by 'Christmass tree'. I was disappointed to hear that. If he was
young in Christ I would not have minded but if mature brethren behave
like children can we say they have maturity? If the Holy Spirit is
working in us can we hoodwink Him when it comes to knowing the truth? If
we have the truth in us why do we continue doing the lies of this world?

We need to ask ourselves 'do I have the Holy Spirit?' If I have the Holy
Spirit, am I baptized in Him?

The Father's Spirit which He has given us is a Holy Spirit and if we
have received a Holy Spirit then shouldn't we be living a holy life?

The only mirror that can confirm we are baptized in the Holy Spirit is
our lives.

[Prayer Starter]

Father God You are Holy God and so also is your Spirit and your Son yet
the attribute of Holiness is strongly associated with You. Let us
understand why in Heaven the Heavenly being glorify You by declaring You
as Holy, Holy, Holy. Lord we pray we do not hoodwink You by building
bridges between this world and your Heavenly Kingdom. We pray we more
and more surrender to You and dwell in your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

John 20:21-22

21Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath
sent me, even so send I you.

22And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them,
Receive ye the Holy Spirit:

Mark 12:36David himself said in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said unto my
Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool
of thy feet.

Luke 2:25And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was
Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the
consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

John 14:26But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will
send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your
remembrance all that I said unto you.

Ephesians 1:13in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the
gospel of your salvation,- in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed
with the Holy Spirit of promise,

Ephesians 2:1-3

1And to you did he give life, when you were dead through your wrongdoing
and sins,

2In which you were living in the past, after the ways of this present
world, doing the pleasure of the lord of the power of the air, the
spirit who is now working in those who go against the purpose of God;

3Among whom we all at one time were living in the pleasures of our
flesh, giving way to the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and the
punishment of God was waiting for us even as for the rest.

The inhabitants of the world are like grasshoppers

Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the
inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens
as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Religions like Islam and Hinduism consider the earth to be flat. When it
comes to Christianity I have seen many use today's scripture to prove
the earth as round because the English translations of the scripture has
the words 'circle' and 'earth'.

The Bible nowhere says earth is flat or round. Both Genesis 1:10 and
Isaiah 40:22 are symbolic and not literate. If we take the words
literate then the earth should also be full of grasshoppers as the
scripture says. The Hebrew word 'chuwg' translated as circle means to
encompass more like hold a feast / celebrate.

To really know a 'Christian' is during the so called 'Chrismass' season.
Everyone's mask comes off and their real purpose to accept Christ is
exposed.

Today's scripture speaks of God who starched out the Heavens like a
curtain [crushed] as a temporary entity beholds the celebration of life
of the nations, He sees grasshoppers. If we study grasshoppers we will
understand what God sees.

Wikipedia defines grasshopper as 'typically ground-dwelling insects with
powerful hind legs which enable them to escape from threats by leaping
vigorously', 'They arehemimetabolousinsects (do not undergocomplete
metamorphosis) which hatch from an egg into anymphor "hopper" which
undergoes fivemoults, becoming more similar to the adult insect at each
developmental stage', 'at high population densities and under certain
environmental conditions, some grasshopper species can change colour and
behaviour and form swarms. Under these circumstances they are known
aslocusts'.

As per Biblical symbolism grasshoppers symbolize people who are driven
by greed. They do not change completely but stage by stage become like
those who have moulded them. They are driven by instincts. When their
material desires or worldly needs are threatened or restricted they
start making a lot of noise. You will find them praying, protesting etc.
They start to transform into totally different beings which are
insignificant but yet think they are great. They start to consume not
only the resources of others but also their own thus being instrument of
destruction, destroying the lives of others' and their own.

When God sees us, does He see us as grasshoppers like He sees others in
the world? Are we selfish, self-centred people who are driven by
desires? Are we being transformed into worldly people or Heavenly
people? What is that we seek? Is it worldly pleasures, worldly
happiness, worldly materials, worldly riches, worldly position, worldly
fame, worldly love, worldly life?

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are God who dwells in the Holy of Holy place. You are
omnipresent yet You are separated from all that which is corrupt. Bible
says the path to life is narrow but the path to vanity is broad. Lord
You said unless we die we will not have life, unless we are not born
again in spirit we will not enter the Kingdom of God. We pray we learn
to die to our desires and to things of this world so that we inherit
your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Nahum 3:15There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee
off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm [young locust] : make
thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.

John 12:24-26

24Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a grain of wheat fall into the
earth and die, it abideth by itself alone; but if it die, it beareth
much fruit.

25He that loveth his life loseth it; and he that hateth his life in this
world shall keep it unto life eternal.

26If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall
also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honor.

Romans 8:13for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die; but if by the
Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

John 11:25-26

25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that
believeth on me, though he die, yet shall he live;

26and whosoever liveth and believeth on me shall never die. Believest
thou this?

Thou shall forget your miseries

Job 11:15, 16 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea,
thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear: Because thou shalt forget
thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:

Today's message is a conversation between Job and his friends. In this
verse we see Job's friend Zophar whose name means "sparrow" tells him
that his problems will come to past and he will forget them.

One may wonder why someone kept a name like sparrow. In Hebrew every
word has an understanding and the word sparrow means 'early ones'.

We see his friend was quick to conclude without understanding the
process or the work that the Lord was doing.

Job was called righteous by God and yet Bible says that none, not one
was found righteous in the sight of God therefore He had to send His Son
as man to be our righteous sacrifice. We need to understand
righteousness is a process like baptism and the end is a gift since none
can achieve it by one's self. Like baptism results into knowing the
truth which is a gift of the Holy Spirit, our walk of righteousness
results in the gift of righteousness from the Son and our being holy
results in the gift of holiness from the Father. These 3 Fruits of the
Spirit are not listed in the 9 mentioned in Galatians since they are
gifts but are separately mentioned in Ephesians.

We need to note Job suffered but his bodily suffering was restricted
just to his skin and not to any other part of his body, like bones or
organs. This was because God was working on Job.

Today God is telling us even though we are going through all kinds of
miseries. We need to understand God is in control and He knows best. God
is telling us soon our miseries will come to past. Today they will seem
as unthinkable suffering but soon when it comes to past it will be like
nothing.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are God and You are Holy, Righteous and Truth. Lord we know You
are working in us and soon we will make something new with us. You God
are omnipotent and nothing is impossible to You. We pray we surrender
into your hands and trust You so that we do not delay by hindering your
work in us...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Romans 3:10as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one;

Job 32:1So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was
righteous in his own eyes.

Ezekiel 14:14though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it,
they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith
the Lord Jehovah.

Romans 5:17For if, by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the
one; much more shall they that receive the abundance of grace and of the
gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, even Jesus Christ.

Galatians 5:22-23

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith,

23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ephesians 5:8-10

8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk
as children of light:

9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and
truth;)

10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Revelation 22:2in the midst of the street thereof. And on this side of
the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve manner of
fruits, yielding its fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were
for the healing of the nations.

Kinds of Preachers

Philippians 1:16, 17the one do it of love, knowing that I am set for the
defence of the gospel; but the other proclaim Christ of faction, not
sincerely, thinking to raise up affliction for me in my bonds.

Paul in today's message talks of two kinds of preachers, one takes an
aggressive approach and the other a gentle approach. One reminds him his
bonds (to the flesh) and the other his freedom (what he has achieved).
Paul does not say one is right and one is wrong but says both glorify
God and are doing work in the Kingdom of God. But what is interesting is
later he continues and compares it with living in this world or dying.
He knows as a Believer if he dies he will be counted in Christ and if he
lives he needs to continue battling within himself and continue the work
of Christ, but he looks at its good part of being able to bear more fruit.

Our churches are filled with the second category of preachers whom Paul
symbolizes as people ready to die and be counted in Christ. They focus
on just being counted in Christ and they are the ones who preach the
gospel of abundance grace. They are people who quote mostly scriptures
like walking in the finished works of Christ, of having victory. Paul
did write these scripture but compared them to the quantity of other
scriptures where Paul wrote of battling, overcoming, enduring, striving
etc...

It is time we start taking an aggressive approach to the flesh [carnal
man]. If we are called to overcome are we not called to battle? If we
are called to battle then how can we be people of a passive nature?

Let us as people of God face the bonds that hold us down, let us battle
them and be set free so that the glory of God may be manifested and the
end will come sooner. Until the Sons of God are not manifested the end
will not come.

God never fails, and the purpose He created us will surely come to pass,
if not in us then in the generation to come. Let us not be among those
who left Egypt but did not enter the Promised Land.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You alone are God. You said I AM WHO I AM. Lord we pray your people
know the reason they exist like You know yourself. Let not they take the
side door exit, but face life and battle the enemy as You have called us
to...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Philippians 1:18-24

18What then? only that in every way, whether in pretence or in truth,
Christ is proclaimed; and therein I rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

19For I know that this shall turn out to my salvation, through your
supplication and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

20according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing shall I
be put to shame, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also
Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.

22But if to live in the flesh,—if this shall bring fruit from my work,
then what I shall choose I know not.

23But I am in a strait betwixt the two, having the desire to depart and
be with Christ; for it is very far better:

24yet to abide in the flesh is more needful for your sake.

Preaching in wisdom

Colossians 1:28Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man
in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Yesterday I was to go to another church but the Lord took me to another,
there the Preacher was preaching on 2:Kings 6:1-3 and he stated the sons
of the prophets said unto Elisha that the place where they dwelled was
too small so they needed to move to bigger place so they thought of
moving to the river Jordan. The Preacher stated that the word to move
did not come from a great man like Elisha but from his disciples which
Elisha later realized.

When he was preaching this I saw most of the congregation we so taken up
with the preaching and delighted with the word as that coming from God.
They were happy because the Preacher was speaking unto their situation
since they were moving from that place after many, many years of being
there.

When I heard this preaching it did not agree with me so I went into the
words not depending on the translation. My disagreement was based on the
fact during those times when kings ruled unless granted by the king
people did not own land. We see in the Bible when wealth was defined for
ordinary person it mostly did not include property but things like gold,
silver, animals, servants, vessels, yield of the land etc. but not the
land. Now these sons of Prophets were not staying in a building to feel
it to be small. If they could build a bigger place near the river Jordan
they as well could have done that where they were.

If we study the scripture by its actual words it word translated as
strait does not mean small but means tight, difficult, oppress etc. The
word translated as beam comes from the root word which means cool. These
sons were feeling the heat of the oppressing that existed against them
and they wanted to go to a place far away to be more comfortable. Elisha
did not experience it but they did. Also they were not Elisha's
disciples but were under the care of Elisha. Elisha did not run any
school of Prophets.

This was not the case of just the Preacher misinterpreting a scripture
just to make 2+2=4 but even some commentaries do the same.

If we preach with the wisdom of man do we expect God to move and do
things in our churches?

Today's message says that Paul preached with not the wisdom of man but
the wisdom of God. We see the churches that Paul planted and worked with
did grow and did well in the Kingdom of God.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God and your Wisdom is beyond measure. Lord You
call us your children and have given unto us your nature which was
manifested in your Son Jesus Christ. Lord if You are filled with wisdom
so also your children are filled. We pray Lord they do not go by the
wisdom that is worldly but rejecting it operate in the wisdom that comes
from You. Unless we do not reject worldly wisdom we cannot operate in
your wisdom. We pray they understand this...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

2 Kings 6:1-2

1And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place
where we dwell with thee is too strait for us.

2Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam,
and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered,
Go ye.

3And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he
answered, I will go.

Fruitless religion

Jeremiah 51:64And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not
rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary.
Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.

At times we may not understand what we feel is good may be more worse
than we can imagine. Many a times I tell people it is better to reject
the Lord Jesus Christ and die an unbeliever that way we will suffer our
sins but believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and not abiding in His Will
is even worse. When we die as a Believer but not as a Christian then we
do not suffer our sins but face the wrath of God. People do not know the
difference between Hell and Lake of Fire / Sulphur.

Today's message is a prophecy of the Babylon the Great / Mother of all
whoredom. It was this prophecy which was revealed to John in the book of
Revelation. We know this prophecy is concerning the Catholic Church and
how it will fail like a pack of cards all of a suddenly. Wherever 'day'
is mentioned it speaks of a long period of time and wherever 'hour' is
mentioned it speaks of a short period of time. The fall of this church
is noted with the word 'hour'. The scripture before (V63) speaks of the
story of this church is ended by throwing it in the river Euphrates
which means fruitfulness.

When I was a Catholic and started studying the Bible, meditating on the
Word and communicating with the Holy Spirit, the Lord started revealing
me the wickedness of this church and one that made me to decide to leave
it is when the Lord showed me how in His name they were taking people
somewhere else.

In those days after knowing this I used to be full of anger with their
priests/ religious leaders and would not spare a moment to pounce on
them for I realized most of them were aware of the evil they were doing
yet in the hardness of their hearts they continued.

We may think today's message is just for information for us Believers,
No. Today's message is also for us since many of our churches behave
like the Catholic Church. We find the main aim of these churches is to
keep people within the fence /inside the Church and thus they protect
them not only from the devil but also from God and also themselves (by
threatening them with excommunication). The people are instructed what
they should do and what they should not do. They are told which preacher
they should hear and whom they should not. They are told which books of
the Bible they should read and which they should not. They are told when
to pray, what to pray, why to pray, where to pray but they do not know
what prayer is. They are bombarded with the fact that pray is powerful
therefore they keep praying and praying as in pushing the mountain with
their hands and not commanding it to move by authority. Like Jesus said
after the parable of the pestering widow and the judge, 'when the Son of
Man comes will He find faith?'.

Instead of controlling their spiritual lives get their spiritual lives
rooted on the Word and led by the Spirit of God. Get their foundations
set and let the Spirit of God take over and lead them, do not take the
place of the Helper / Comforter; if Jesus did not how can we? Also do
not say you need years and years to set their foundation set. Look in
your churches and see how many are in that same place since years. As
Pastors / Bishops you are to be mentors and overseers; what mentoring
and overseeing are you doing that the Lord needs to strain Himself to
see it.

The Lord is telling us as Believers if we are running a Catholic church
(a faithless church / not Word rooted church / church filled with
manmade traditions / church filled with spiritually blind people /
people without a desire to serve God) then the day is at hand that soon
He will bring this church to nothing. Do not let tithing and blessings
and healing and worldly prosperity be the main agenda of your church but
let salvation be the agenda, not just one's own salvation but the
salvation of all of the Lord's sheep.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are a Holy God and You have said 'be holy for I am Holy'. You
Lord desire we try to do what You have done even if we cannot match it;
as your children You expect us to follow You. You Lord humbled yourself
by leaving your glory and became man to pay the price for our sins so
that we receive your Holy Spirit, who leads us to holiness. You Lord
expect the same from us too that is why You said we need to die
spiritually to have life of abundance. Lord we pray we imitate You in
our lives and show we are of You, for You and with You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Jeremiah 51:62-64

62Then shalt thou say, O LORD, thou hast spoken against this place, to
cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but
that it shall be desolate for ever.

63And it shall be, when thou hast made an end of reading this book, that
thou shalt bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates:

64And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from
the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far
are the words of Jeremiah.

Luke 18:1,8

1And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to
pray, and not to faint;

8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son
of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Matthew 19:29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or
sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my
name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting
life.

Mark 8:35For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever
shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

Called to be the head and not tail

Psalms 19:43 Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people;
and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not
known shall serve me.

In India we have a state called Gujarat where the people are inherently
traders or businessmen in some or other vertical. The Gujarati community
is very close knitted and they encourage each other in business. The
families of this community most live as join families and they will go
all the way to help each other even if they are far of relatives or not
even one.

When I started working, I started getting promoted quickly from trainee
to HOD in matter of couple of years having those who were senior to me,
reporting to me. But even then my father was not happy and wanted me to
do business. He told me even if I earned less I should not be working
for others but making others work for me. I like the financial security
when working for other and did like losing it but over the time I got
into business.

We as Christian are called to be heads and not tails. The Guajarati's do
not fear getting into business because they have a community backing but
we as Christians having background in whatsoever community we were from
are called to be heads and not tails, we are not called to find a
solution in our community like say the Gujaratis but are called to do so
because we trust our God more than man. It is our God who directs us,
provides for us and uphold us. Bible says when we keep the Law of the
Lord we will become the heads and not the tails. Even if we are working
in a public sector company or a private sector company we need to be the
managers, heads of that department, presidents etc., we need to show the
favor of God on us.

Bible says when we are His people we are called to 10 times more capable
than others. We are not talking of little more but of 10 times better.

Let us ask ourselves do we trust God or trust man, do we know our God is
a Living God who watches over us all the time, a God whose hand is not
short to help us at the time of need and an Omnipotent God for whom not
is impossible.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God and You alone are Living God. Lord we ask for
forgiveness for not trusting You. We ask forgiveness for not abiding in
your Word. We pray Lord we know we are called to be heads and not tails.
Fill us with wisdom and understanding in whatever we do so that people
will find us blessed and a blessing for them, that they may say our God
is indeed a Living God...

This Prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Deuteronomy 28:13, 15, 43-44

13And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou
shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken
unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this
day, to observe and to do them

15But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of
the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes
which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon
thee, and overtake thee:

43The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high;
and thou shalt come down very low.

44He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the
head, and thou shalt be the tail.

Daniel 1:19-20

19And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none
like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before
the king.

20And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired
of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and
astrologers that were in all his realm.

His mighty power working in us

Ephesians 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to
us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

As a kid and as a Catholic when I received my 'First Holy Communion' I
was told I received Jesus. I was very happy not because I understood
anything but because of the hype people created and the importance they
gave towards me. Even then there was a doubt in my mind for I knew
whatever we eat ultimately goes out into the draught. So my question was
- is Jesus temporary in me or some extract of that communion will still
remain in me forever!

Catholics believe in transubstantiation that means that they believe
Jesus is physically present in the Holy Communion. They do not know that
their so called 'Holy Communion' is as unholy as one can get. They
substituted the ordinary unleavened bread with wafer and shaped it
according the pagan rituals of the Sun god [note the stand they place it
on and do its adoration]. What they are doing is worshipping God is high
places by over exaggeration beyond its actual meaning and this God hates.

As Believers we are called to break bread - unleavened bread, neither
leavened bread nor wafer nor cake (made with oil like Indian roti);
bread that is without any other ingredients in remembrance of Him (His
sacrifice). Since He said 'remembrance' so it is symbolic.

Where Catholics got misled is because Jesus said this bread is His flesh
and unless we eat it we will have nothing with Him. They do not realize
Jesus spoke in Hebrew to His disciple or with other Jews and Aramaic
with other people. So to understand what He said we need to understand
the Hebrew words. In Hebrew the word for bread comes from the root word
which means 'to battle' / 'to overcome' and the root word for flesh
means 'message'. So Jesus said it is His message that we need to eat
which will let us overcome. So breaking unleavened bread is symbolic but
what we do is eat the unadulterated message of Christ which lets us
overcome.

Today's message tells us about His power which is in those who believe
and this power is described as mighty power. This power is not a magical
power like that of Super Man or any other comic book characters. This
power is the power of truth, of understanding of the Kingdom of God.
Whatever Jesus did as man, things like healing, bringing dead to life
etc. all those were done by His understanding of the Kingdom of God. We
too can do all those which He did if we too increase our understanding
of God's Kingdom and live our lives like Him. Jesus said we would do
greater things, not because we will know more and have more power but
because He did all things with purpose and that purpose will increase as
we draw nearer to the end.

Let us manifest the power of Christ in us by not only studying His Word
but by also walking in His Word since understanding will come only when
we do both.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty, Holy God and nothing is hidden from You for You
are all knowing. Word also says Your wisdom is un measurable. Lord You
have called us to be your children and your Sons. You desire we too know
the Truth and overcome the corruption which sin has done in us and have
power in You. We pray we eat your unadulterated message and make it part
of us so that we overcome and become Sons of God...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Matthew 15:17Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at
the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

John 6:51,54,56

51I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of
this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my
flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

54Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I
will raise him up at the last day.

56He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I
in him.

1 Corinthians 5:8Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven,
neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the
unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

By Him, With Him and For Him

Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

One of the best descriptions of the Lord Jesus Christ is given in
Colossians 1:15-18. If one goes into the depth of its every word and
understands it, it gives a summary of the whole Bible and of creation,
with its purpose.

Genesis 1:1 starts with God taking steps to create the visible creation,
the only reason given there is that God saw the existence of darkness.
Now when did this darkness come into existence and why is not given
there, but is given only in very few scriptures.

Today's message one of the few scriptures that relates the visible
creation to the invisible creation (creatures / beings in Heaven). It
says not only this visible creation (universe and everything that
existed, exits and will exist till the end) but also the Heavenly
creation that includes beings like Cherubim and Angels were created by
the Lord Jesus Christ. These were created by Him, for Him and it is only
with Him that the results are achieved.

If we look at Jesus in the Bible we will see there are 5 identities the
Lord Jesus Christ is associated with.

God (John 20:28, John 8:58)

Son God (John 19:7, Romans 1:4)

Son of God (Mark 15:39)

Christ (Mark 1:1)

Son of Man (John 5:27)

People confuse Son God with Son of God. 'Son God' is unique and only one
exists, He was not created but on the other hand 'Son of God' are many
and were created. We who are in Christ are called to become Sons of God
through the working of the Holy Spirit. When the Jews crucified Jesus or
tried to stone Him to death it was because He called Himself 'Son God'
or 'God' /'I Am' and not for calling Himself 'Son of God' [the word
'the' in Greek 'tov' does not exist between Son /'huios' and God
/'Theos']. Jews were aware between the term Son of God and Son God and
that Angels including Adam (before he sinned) were referred to as Sons
of God.

The understanding of the existence of 'three deities but yet one'
[Father, Son and Spirit - Trinity] is not wrong but people need to go
further and understand Son and His Spirit - who are one and the Father
and His Spirit - who also are one, with God (Father and Son) who is
Spirit and only one.

If we look at what is known of the Kingdom of God among the main stream
Churches, it is just the tip of the iceberg, there is lot more to
receive from God and to come to the knowledge of.

Let us meditate more on the Lord and ask Him to reveal more of Himself
to us through His Word.

[Prayer Starter]

Father God You alone are God. When Moses and Jacob asked your Name You
said 'I AM WHO I AM' and that there is no other God but You. Lord let
your people understand the purpose who created this world that we live
in and the reason You created the Heavens and all the beings in it. We
pray we understand You use the least for the greatest of things through
the Fruits and Gifts of the Holy Spirit, it is like in using an ant to
destroy and elephant. We pray we understand the importance of the Holy
Spirit and the Fruits of the Holy Spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Colossians 1:15-18

15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are
in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions,
or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

John 20:28And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

John 8:58Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before
Abraham was, I am.

John 19:7The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought
to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

Mark 15:39And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that
he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the
Son of God.

Mark 1:1The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

John 5:27And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because
he is the Son of man.

God's mighty creation

Revelation 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto
crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne,
were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

If you have ever gone to a Catholic Church and seen the paintings you
will see this usual character of small baby like Angels having wings
(four wings). This character they are projecting is the Cherubim and in
today's message in the book of Revelation we read about them as Beasts
full of eyes in front and behind. They are described to have heads of a
lion, a calf [ox], a man and an eagle. In the book of Ezekiel we find
more detailed description and are fearful looking creature, compare this
description to that of the cute little baby Angels that Catholics have
illustrated.

One may think, how can our God who made all things so beautiful would
have dreadful creatures most near to His glorious Throne?

Firstly one needs to note these are spirit beings like Angels and not
made of flesh and bones like man, they do not actually possess bird like
wings nor heads of actual man, lion, ox and eagle, nor have actual
multiple hands or legs or eyes, all this is to understand their might
and the character they possess.

If one has had the privilege to actually see Angles which are the
simpler beings of Heaven, they appear as humans but one does not see a
human face. They appear as beings made of light with their outline
visible. They have long endless hands since one does not see their
palms, similarly they seem to have long legs but their feet are not
visible. Both their hands and feet seem endless that is why they seem to
float in the air. They seem to have long hair which also seems endless.
We may note all this but this is not their look, it is their appearance
to man to symbolically understand what, who they are, so as to
understand the characteristics they possess.

We all know the might of an Angel from scriptures and can say they are
hundreds of thousand times more powerful than an earthly man. Now if one
compares an Angel to a Cherub, a Cherub is tens of thousands times more
mighty than an Angel. Can we even dream of comparing ourselves to
Cherub? One will be surprised to note Lucifer was /is a Cherub and we
humans who are lower than an Angel have been selected by God to defeat a
Cherub. Ezekiel says at the end we will bring this mighty Cherub down
like we bring a man down.

Who can comprehend the wisdom and power of God?And that same wisdom and
power works in us if we surrender and become one in Him.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are an Omnipotent, Omnipresent and All Knowing God. You
created all things even Lucifer was created by You. You knew he would
fall like You knew man would fall even before You created us. Your Word
says You made available a sacrifice from the foundation of creation to
enable man to return back to You. Lord, You have great plans for
worthless man. You have selected him to be a light in the darkness, to
overcome darkness. Lord we faint with the little challenges we face in
the flesh here on earth not knowing the unbelievable things we are
called to overcome in the spiritual world. Lord we pray we understand
what we are and that You have given us all that we need to overcome. Let
not these little things on earth trouble us for we are your mighty
creation...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Revelation 4:6-11

6And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and
in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts
full of eyes before and behind.

7And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf,
and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a
flying eagle.

8And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were
full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy,
holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

9And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat
on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

10The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the
throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their
crowns before the throne, saying,

11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for
thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were
created.

Ezekiel 1:4-15

Ezekiel 10:9-22

Ezekiel 28:12-19

12Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto
him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom,
and perfect in beauty.

13Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy
covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and
the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the
workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the
day that thou wast created.

14Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so:
thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in
the midst of the stones of fire.

15Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created,
till iniquity was found in thee.

16By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee
with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as
profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering
cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted
thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground,
I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

18Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine
iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring
forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will
bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold
thee.

19All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee:
thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

Genesis 3: 24So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the
garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to
keep the way of the tree of life.
