An unusual new television series, a cooperative effort of three Christian organizations, explores the modern miracle that is Israel, and its role as an incarnation of God’s Biblical promise – from a Christian point of view. Providing an intimate look at Israel’s history, culture and modern-day life, it allows Christians an insider’s view of the unique Jewish journey.
The one-of-a-kind series was produced by Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the world’s largest religious television network, along with Christians in Defense of Israel (CIDI), and Liberty Counsel. The 13-part show, called “Why Israel Matters”, is aimed at demonstrating to Christians the living embodiment of Biblical promise in Israel.
“From the moment TBN first went on the air back in 1973, we’ve taken seriously the scriptural promise that God will bless those who bless Israel,” said TBN Chairman Matt Crouch.

“Even though I have lived with this series for over two years and reviewed the rough cut version, I was still moved by the impact of this powerful story about Jews being drawn to Israel from around the world,” Mat Staver, chairman of Christians in Defense of Israel and Liberty Counsel, told the Jerusalem Post.
“There has never been a more important time for Christians and others of goodwill across America and around the world to stand in solidarity with the nation and people of Israel,” said Staver.
Mati Shoshani, an Israeli expert on the country’s history and the director of operations at TBN, narrated the video, leading the viewer through the country he clearly loves. He emphasized that the goal of the series was more personal than political.
“These aren’t political organizations,” Shoshani told Breaking Israel News. “There was no ulterior motive. We didn’t want to prove anything.

“The thought behind this is that there are many stories in Israel that are worth telling. We wanted to give people outside of Israel a peek into that.”
He explained that the media of television could often be more powerful than books or articles on the topic. “There is a lot of good happening in this land that people need to know about. We aren’t giving a message that we wrote on a page. We are letting the stories give over their own message. The stories bring hope in a very true fashion.”
The first segment, which aired February 28, dealt with the prophesied ingathering of the exiles. It explored the stories of three Jews who came to Israel from the Diaspora. A Jew from the Khaifeng Chinese community, Jin Jin, described in heavily accented Hebrew why she chose the unusual name Yecholiya (God is able).

Massive Terror Weapons Cache Seized in Spain; 10,000-Gun Arsenal Found

A massive weapons cache of over 10,000 rifles, machine guns, pistols, revolvers, shells and grenades intended for sale to terror groups has been seized in Spain, Spanish authorities announced Tuesday.
In a disruption of a massive European terror weapons ring, five suspected weapons dealers were also arrested and $90,000 in cash was recovered during raids in Girona, Biscay, and Cantabria.
The seizure was the long-awaited fruit of an investigation launched by the Spanish police after a 2014 terror shooting at a Jewish museum in Brussels left four dead.

Aimed at reducing the number of illegal weapons circulating Europe, the effort led to the discovery of a trafficking gang whose complex operation “exploited legal loopholes and legislative differences between EU countries to divert guns from legal suppliers,” said Spain’s national police.

In their recent book, Becoming Jewish: New Jews and Emerging Jewish Communities in a Globalized World, Dr. Netanel Fisher, of the Open University of Israel, and Professor Tudor Parfitt, from Florida International University, revealed that millions of people around the world are discovering their ancestral roots in the Jewish People. This includes the Igbo and Lemba of Africa, Bnei Menashe from India, Chinese Jews of Khaifeng, and millions of descendants of Anousim, Jews forcibly converted to Catholicism during the Iberian Inquisition.
According to Rabbi Chaim Amsalem, a prominent Sephardi rabbi, recognized authority on halacha (Torah law), and former Knesset member, connecting to these people is the most important mission for the Jewish People today.
“We have to go out and do everything in our power to return them. It is commanded to us in prophecy,” Rabbi Amsalem told Breaking Israel News, quoting Ezekiel.

As Jerusalem’s Jubilee celebration approaches, the Israeli parliament has, for the first time, proposed establishing a government body focused on strengthening the connection between the Jewish State and its holiest site: The Temple Mount. This move has generated anger among Palestinian politicians, who believed recent efforts by the UN to erase this Jewish connection were successful.
In a move that has attracted the ire of the Palestinians, Culture Minister Miri Regev and Jerusalem Minister Ze’ev Elkin proposed a new foundation to promote the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount. A $550,00 yearly budget will be added to the already existing Western Wall Heritage Fund, establishing the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation. It will be responsible for “research, information and advocacy” about the Jewish connection to the site.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Jason Greenblatt, US President Donald Trump’s international negotiations adviser, for over five hours in Jerusalem on Monday.

They reaffirmed the joint commitment of both Israel and the United States to advance a genuine and lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians that strengthens the security of Israel and enhances stability in the region.

The prime minister told Greenblatt, who is an Orthodox Jew, that he believes under President Trump’s leadership, it is possible to advance peace between Israel and all its neighbors, including the Palestinians, and he looks forward to working closely with President Trump to achieve that goal.

Greenblatt reaffirmed President Trump’s commitment to Israel’s security and to the effort to help Israelis and Palestinians achieve a lasting peace through direct negotiations.

Cannibalism: ISIS Revives Islam’s Original
Terror Tactic

In light of recent revelations that the Islamic State is teaching its followers to eat non-Muslims, surely we can now all agree that ISIS is truly not Islamic?
Alas, no.  Even the eating of “infidels” has precedents throughout Islamic history, especially as a terror tactic.  Two well-documented anecdotes come to mind:

The first concerns that jihadi par excellence, Khalid bin al-Walid (d.642).   Dubbed the “Sword of Allah” by Muhammad for his prowess, he holds a revered position among jihadi groups (ISIS’ black flag with white Arabic writing is a facsimile of the banner Khalid carried in battle).  During the Ridda—or  “apostasy wars” on several Arab tribes that sought to break away from Islam following Muhammad’s death—Khalid falsely accused Malik bin Nuwayra, a well-liked Arab chieftain, of apostasy.  After slaughtering him,  Khalid raped—Muslim sources call it “married”—Malik’s wife.  Not content,

He [Khalid] ordered his [Malik’s] head and he combined it with two stones and cooked a pot over them.  And Khalid ate from it that night to terrify the apostate Arab tribes and others.  And it was said that Malik’s hair created such a blaze that the meat was so thoroughly cooked [from Muslim historian al-Tabari’s multi-volume chronicle, al-bidaya w’al nihaya (“the Beginning and the End”; Arabic excerpt here).

Media Collusion with the “Espionage Establishment”

“What you see in these leaks are the intelligence agencies being manipulated by the left to destroy the Trump presidency and everybody around him.”
Host Chris Wallace of “Fox News Sunday” spent most of his Sunday show on the subject of whether there is any evidence of Trump officials colluding with Russia to affect the 2016 presidential election. “On the Russian collusion, there’s a lot of smoke, no evidence,” said panelist Bob Woodward of Washington Post Watergate fame.

But we do have substantial evidence of media collusion with the U.S. intelligence community.

“Few understand the CIA and espionage culture as well as [David] Ignatius,” Woodward once said of his colleague, a foreign affairs columnist for the paper. These comments are significant. Ignatius is the Post journalist who received an illegal leak of classified information regarding Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn’s conversations with the Russian ambassador. The disclosure led to Flynn’s resignation as Trump’s national security adviser.

The leak and its publication on January 12 were both illegal actions under the law.

Attorney Larry Klayman of Freedom Watch tells Accuracy in Media that Ignatius is not alone. “What you see in these leaks—David Ignatius of The Washington Post and others—are the intelligence agencies being manipulated by the left to destroy the Trump presidency and everybody around him.” Ignatius openly boasts of his contacts in the intelligence community, especially the CIA.

Woodward was a guest on the Sunday edition of “Fox News Sunday,” but was never asked about his colleague receiving illegal leaks of communications intelligence information.

At a Megillah reading – the reading of the Book of Esther in celebration of Purim – in his local synagogue in Caesarea, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked a group of first and second graders in their Purim costumes what the holiday is about, and posted the video of the exchange on his Facebook page.

Christians Call for 3-Day Esther Fast to Unify With Israel

A call for Christians to take on a difficult three-day fast in order to identify with Israel is receiving a powerful response, perhaps because of its precedent. The fast mirrors the one described in the Book of Esther, read Saturday night for the holiday of Purim, which overturned Israel’s enemies and saved the Jewish people.
The fast was initiated by Lou Engle, co-founder of The Call Inc. centered in Colorado, who has been uniting Christians across America in prayer and fasting for over two decades. Engle based his call on the verse in the Book of Esther, which described the three-day fast the Jews undertook to help Esther overcome the threat posed by Haman.
Go, gather together all the Yehudim that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day; I also and my maidens will fast in like manner; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish.’ Esther 4:16
In his letter calling for the fast, Engle explained the connection to the present day.
Haman (the adversary in the Book of Esther), was practicing divination through the casting of lots, and was clearly aligning himself with demonic spiritual powers to destroy the whole Jewish population in the earth. Esther’s three-day fast broke the spiritual power channeled by Haman’s witchcraft. It effectively reversed the curse and shifted the whole public policy of the Persian Empire towards the Jewish people. I cannot stress this enough: we are in a similar day and a cataclysmic battle for the soul of our nation. We cannot live the same way we lived yesterday.
The fast began on Wednesday and will end as the Jewish holiday of Purim begins on Saturday night.

Abbas Finally Connects With President Trump by Telephone, Meets US Rabbis

After two months of silence, President Trump and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will speak for the first time on Friday, making Abbas the last Arab leader to connect with the new US President.
A White House statement on Thursday read, “Later in the morning, the President will speak with President Abbas of the Palestinian Authority (PA) by telephone.” The phone-meeting is scheduled to take place Friday at 12:15 p.m. EST (7:15 p.m. Israel time).
Abbas will be the last Arab leader to connect with the new US president, who has already spoken with leaders of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and most of the other Arab countries. Trump has met with Jordan’s King Abdullah. In contrast, President Trump has personally known Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for years, and the two met during Trump’s campaign. They also met last month, less than one month after his inauguration, and have spoken on the phone twice.

Shocking Upset Victories as Israel Approaches 70th Year Portend Change Bringing Third Temple

After a year typified by upset victories in sports and politics, some rabbis sees this week’s ‘turnaround’ holiday of Purim leading up to the celebration of Israel’s 70th year as a portal that will open the way for the most impressive upset victory of all time: the Third Temple.
Sports fans will most certainly remember this as the year of the upset. Many fans literally fell out of their seats when the Chicago Cubs made an astounding comeback to win their first World Series in over one hundred years. The New England Patriots shocked millions when they came from behind in overtime to win the Super Bowl.
Closer to home, Israel was astounded when their underrated baseball team won their third straight victory in the World Baseball Classic last night, entering the last eight in their first foray into the tournament in Tokyo. Yahoo Sports had called Israel’s team the “underdoggiest underdog of this whole shebang.”
Purim, celebrated Saturday night, is the holiday of nahafochu, Hebrew for ‘flipping things around’, when the day slated to be the destruction of the Jews in Persia became the day their enemies were destroyed. In the spirit of the Jews celebrating in Shushan 2,700 years ago, the Talmud tells Jews to drink wine until “they can’t tell the difference between ‘blessed is Mordecai’ and ‘cursed is Haman’.”

But the most Purim-like upset victory within the past year was surely when Donald Trump won the presidential election over highly-favored political veteran Hillary Clinton. Before the election, Reuters, like many other prominent polls, gave Clinton a 95 percent chance of winning.

Terrorist With Israeli Blood on Her Hands Leads International Anti-Trump Strike

A women’s strike has attracted criticism despite its universal cause, as one of its main organizers is a convicted Palestinian terrorist with Israeli blood on her hands.
The anti-Trump “Day Without a Woman” strike held on Wednesday asked women not to go to work and to limit their shopping to businesses owned and operated by women and minorities. Organizers also requested women wear red as a sign of “revolutionary love and sacrifice,” stating that red is a color of action traditionally associated with the labor movement. The first principle of the movement, as stated on their website, is that “nonviolence is a way of life for courageous people”.
However, much of the event’s message got lost in the controversy surrounding one of its organizers, Rasmea Odeh, a convicted terrorist guilty of murdering Israelis and currently awaiting trial for crimes in America.
The niece of one of Ode’s victims, Terry Joffe Benaryeh, stated this in an op-ed published in Huffington Post last week.
“I support the empowerment of American Muslims and refugees, and especially Muslim women at this time of heightened prejudice,” she wrote. “A self-confessed murderer should not be the voice for them. Do these feminists support her despite her past? Or worse, because of it?”

On Tuesday, Christians for Israel International presented a “Jerusalem Declaration” to President Reuven Rivlin at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem.
The Declaration states that Christians acknowledge that the city of Jerusalem belongs to the Jewish people as part of God’s covenant promise and expresses unconditional support for the governance of the undivided city as the capital of the Jewish State of Israel. In the coming months, this Declaration will be brought to the attention of churches and Christian organizations world-wide.
The delegation consisted of the organization’s International Board and regional and national directors from Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania/Pacific, USA and Brazil.

How Esther and Mordechai's Tombs Defy Iranian Vow to Destroy Israel Today

he burial site of Purim heroes Mordechai and Esther stands proudly in the heart of Iran, proclaiming the Jews’ Biblical victory from within their most prominent modern enemy. This contradiction, based on an extraordinary part of the Bible, symbolizes the peculiar reality of the largest and most ancient Middle Eastern Jewish community outside of the Holy Land.

For several reasons, the story of Purim is an anomaly in the Bible. It does not mention the name of God, and it is the only Biblical account, apart from the Book of Daniel, to take place outside the borders of Israel. The story of the Jewish victory is based in ancient Persia, known today as Iran, the arch-enemy of modern Israel. Tucked away in a corner of Iran is a 500-year old building purported to be the burial site of Mordechai and Esther. A previous structure is believed to have been destroyed in the 14th century by Mongol invaders.
The Iranian city of Hamadan, 200 miles west of Tehran, claims to be the Biblical city of Shushan, the capital of ancient Persia and the setting for the story of Purim.
In those days, when the king Achashveirosh sat on the throne of his kingdom, which was in Shushan the castle. Esther 1:5

One of the most prominent sites in the city is a 500-year-old building built over what many believe is the burial site of Biblical Mordecai and Esther. Most would assume that the site commemorating the Jewish heroes would be hidden away or in danger, but the opposite is actually the case. The site is proudly displayed, known to all, and Persian Jews visit the site annually en masse to read the Book of Esther.

This phenomenon was described by Annika Hernroth-Rothstein, a Swedish political adviser, writer and activist. Hernroth visited the site last year, just before Purim, while writing an article on the political situation in Iran. She expected the Jewish site to be neglected or abused, but was surprised to find that this was not the case.

“All the people I asked for directions knew about the site and who was buried there,” Hernroth told Breaking Israel News. “The tomb is prominent, very accessible, and very well kept.”

Iranian Jews visit the site “by the busloads”, according to Hernroth. “The Jews are very proud of the site as part of their 2,700-year history in Iran,” she said. “They are not free, but neither are they persecuted.”

The tomb bears witness to the complicated status of Jews in Iran. Despite Israel being the arch-enemy of the present regime, that was not always the case. In 1970 there were more than 100,000 Jews in the country. Due to a mass exodus after Iran’s 1979 revolution and the founding of the Islamic republic, there remain fewer than 30,000 Jews Iran today. However, the community still constitutes the largest population of Jews in the Middle East outside Israel.
Politics endanger both the Jewish community and the tomb. In 2010, the Iranian government added the site to their National Heritage list, thereby putting it under government protection. One year later, anti-Israel protesters surrounded the tomb and threatened to tear it down. The tomb was removed from the Heritage list, and the official state news agency explained the decision by pointing out that Purim was a Jewish massacre of Iranians.

“I saw no signs of the riots,” Hernroth said, explaining why she thinks Iran allows the site to exist. “Religion holds a very special place in Iran. Iran keeps the site as a sign to the rest of the world in order to display their belief in religious freedom. There is no real freedom, but there is religious freedom. Ironically, I found several options for kosher food, which is not the case where I live in Sweden.”
Another tradition places the burial site of Mordechai and Esther inside Israel, but near another modern enemy. Located at an archaeological site near Kibbutz Bar’am, the site is very close to Israel’s northern border with Lebanon.

Paved Roman-Era Highway Discovered Along Israel's Route 375

Israeli archaeologists announced the discovery of a 2,000-year-old road last month near Beit Shemesh, west of Jerusalem. The road passes close to the Israel National Trail, the hiking path that runs the length of Israel from the Lebanese border to Eilat.
The Israeli Antiquities Authority (IAA) said researchers discovered the road during preparatory infrastructure digging for the installation of of a water pipeline, at the initiative of the Beit Shemesh water corporation “Mei Shemesh”. Irina Zilberbod, director of the excavation on behalf of the IAA, said the road used to follow a similar route to today’s Route 375, was up to 6 meters wide and continued for a distance of approximately 1.5 kilometers.
“Apparently, the road would have served as a link between between the Roman settlement situated close to the Palestinian village of Bayt Nattif (southwest of Jerusalem) to the main highway known as ‘Emperor’s Road’,” stated Zilberbod.
The “Emperor’s Road”, also known as “Caesar’s Road”, was built by the Romans in order to make an easier path for them to travel with their armies and horses.

A new campaign to sell real estate in Judea and Samaria features a meeting with two very special clients, Joshua and Caleb, the Biblical spies, who happen to be checking out the neighborhood for their families and flocks. Though meant to be amusing, the campaign is a reminder of the sacred aspect of every material action in Israel – and a warning of modern incarnation of the Biblical sin against the land.

The video was posted on Sunday by real estate agent Guy Amit to market apartments presently under construction in Maaleh Lavona, a small community in Samaria established 33 years ago. It opens with an animated segment showing Joshua and Caleb spying out the land of Israel. A godlike voice instructs them,

The two Biblical characters discover a mysterious cave which takes them forward in time. They find themselves at a construction site, where Amit is discussing a new apartment with a young couple. Joshua draws his sword and confronts the strangers with the Biblical phrase he is destined to utter later in the Bible.

Multiple Iranian Revolutionary Guard fast-attack vessels came close to a U.S. Navy ship in the Strait of Hormuz Saturday, forcing the ship to change direction, an American official said Monday.
According to the U.S. official, the Iranian boats came within 600 yards of the USNS Invincible, a tracking ship, Reuters reported. The Invincible was also being accompanied by three ships from the British Royal Navy at the time.
The official said that the naval vessel attempted to contact the Iranian ships over radio, but there was no response, and the interaction was “unsafe and unprofessional.”

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday evening for a brief conversation that primarily focused on the Iranian threat.

Water levels at Sea of Galilee are at a record low, the lowest since measurements began nearly a century ago, the Israel Water Authority announced on Monday. The dangerously falling water level is raising serious concerns about Israel’s largest single source of fresh water. For some, the spiritual implications of the lack of rain are at least as important as the drought itself.

“The Kinneret level’s location under the red line toward the end of the rainy season is an unusual situation that has not occurred in about a decade,” a statement from the Water Authority said.

The water level in the Kinneret rose 8.7 inches last month, as compared to the February average of 23.6 inches. Water levels are 16 cm below the red line, but these low levels in the Kinneret pose a greater danger than just water shortages. Underneath the large lake run subterranean saltwater streams. Pressure from the fresh water in the lake prevents this saltwater from entering the lake. It is feared that if the water level drops too much, the saltwater will mix with the fresh, making the entire lake unsuitable for general use.
Lowering levels in the Kinneret take on a deeper meaning when seen in the light of the Zohar, the foundational work of Jewish mysticism. The Zohar states the Messiah will first appear in the Galilee.

Speaking in a keynote message at the annual Proclaiming Justice to the Nations’ (PJTN) International Prayer and Dinner Event for Israel held at the World Center in Orlando, Father Gabriel Naddaf of Nazareth encouraged American Christians to stand with Israel against the BDS – boycott, divest and sanction – movement.
He told the capacity audience of hundreds of PJTN watchmen in attendance that “as one of the few surviving Christians in the Middle-East, I praise God daily for the blessing of being able to call myself an Israeli.” He continued by praising the work of PJTN under Laurie Cardoza-Moore’s leadership, which has spearheaded the campaign to pass anti-BDS legislation across the United States stating, “I call upon anyone in any state who has not already passed an anti-BDS resolution to reach out to PJTN.”
Father Gabriel Naddaf is an Israeli Greek Orthodox priest who serves as a judge in Israel’s religious court system. He is one of the founders of the Forum for recruiting Christians in the Israel Defense Forces.

The PJTN event took place at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Convention, the largest annual assembly of Christian broadcasters and media which attracts participants from around the world. At this year’s gathering PJTN showcased their latest documentary, Boycott This! which exposes the lies behind the BDS movement. Father Naddaf, who appears in the film, was invited by producers to educate viewers on the absurdity of those who seek to divest from Israeli businesses who hire Palestinians.

The umbrella organization of Conservative synagogues passed a resolution on March 1 allowing individual congregations to decide whether to admit non-Jews as members.

The resolution, the first of its kind in the Conservative movement, passed overwhelmingly with a 94-8 vote during a Special Meeting of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ) General Assembly, JTA reported.

“USCJ, as a valued and trusted partner, is committed to assisting welcoming, vibrant, and caring Jewish communities to fully engage the spiritual gifts of all community members,” the resolution read.

“We celebrate the diversity among and within our kehillot (‘congregations’ in Hebrew) and encourage the engagement of all those who seek a spiritual and communal home in an authentic and dynamic Jewish setting.”

The resolution invoked a verse from the Book of Isaiah in support of its decision to allow non-Jews to join the ranks of Conservative congregations.

“We call on all of our kehillot to open their doors wide to all who want to enter,” it read. “Let us strive to make the words of Isaiah a reality in our time: “My House will be called a house of prayer for all people”. (Isaiah 56:7)

While the proposal originated as a way to further welcome intermarried couples into Conservative congregations, its wording makes clear that any non-Jew who feels moved to pray in a Jewish gathering is welcome.

The resolution does not grant universal permission to anyone who wishes to join a Conservative synagogue, but allows individual congregations to decide the matter.

However, the change does not mean that non-Jews will be considered Jewish by Conservative definition, Rabbi Steven Wernick, United Synagogue’s CEO, told JTA in January. Rather, the bylaw is meant to include non-Jewish members of the community only.

“What we’re trying to do with this is distinguish between community and covenant,” Rabbi Wenick said.

The USCJ emphasizes that the move is meant as a way to bridge the gap between age-old traditions and modern societal changes.

“We’re living in a moment when paradigms are shifting, so the anxiety is very real, and the questions that come out of these paradigm shifts are also very real,” Wernick said. “Our job is to frame the questions and help our network navigate through this moment in history.”

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beiteinu) stated at Monday morning’s meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that he strongly opposes the idea of annexing Judea and Samaria, citing a direct threat from the Trump White House discouraging any future attempt to do it.

“I heard this morning Miki Zohar from Likud talking about an initiative to impose Israeli sovereignty over all of Judea and Samaria,” Liberman told the committee, adding, “I’m starting to receive phone inquiries from around the world about this. I want to make clear – we should separate from the Palestinians, not absorb Palestinians in our own area. It’s 2,700,000 Palestinians.”

On Sunday, MK Zohar presented in a panel discussion on i24News his plan for allowing the PA Arabs to live in a Jewish one-state, with full civil rights, save for the right to vote for the Knesset.

As more of Rabbi Nir Ben Artzi’s past predictions come true, a recent sermon, predicting disasters including earthquakes, storms, and plane crashes as a result of divine judgement in response to political events, takes on powerful relevance to today’s times.

In his weekly sermon on Friday, Rabbi Ben Artzi,a prominent Israeli mystical rabbi, warned that these are exceptional times, with dire consequences waiting to happen. The mystical rabbi goes went great detail explaining current events in a new light, describing the cause-and-effect from an end-of-days perspective.

“The times will continue to be difficult and the judgements will continue to grow stronger: floods, volcanic eruptions, fires and heat, evil spirits, storms and earthquakes. Buildings will disappear into the ground – the ground will open up and swallow places in the world. Planes will collide and get lost, ships will get lost and sink.”

His predictions follow a number of similar incidents. Last summer saw a wave of major earthquakes, including a 7.8 magnitude quake in Ecuador that killed over 500 people, and a 7.3 magnitude quake in Japan that killed over 50. Seismologists predict many more, in a phenomenon prophecy connects to the end-of days. And while lost planes are uncommon in these technologically-advanced days, it is nearly three years to the day since Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 vanished into thin air.

Rabbi Ben Artzi’s other predictions focused on the Middle East, ranging from impact of Donald Trump’s presidency on Israel to the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and radical Islam.

The rabbi had words of reassurance for Trump supporters who believe the president will be good for the Jewish State, asserting, “Trump is doing his real work in secret, in order to fix all the things that were made crooked.

“He doesn’t like to make this things public, and if he hasn’t yet done what he promised, he will.”

One prominent campaign promise that has yet to materialize is the much-discussed moving of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This weekend, however, with little fanfare or coverage in the media, a delegation of two congressmen arrived in Israel to begin scouting locations for the embassy in Jerusalem and putting the move into motion.

Moving on to the possibility of a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians, Rabbi Ben Artzi predicted there would be no advances in negotiations, explaining that coexistence runs counter to the spiritual inclination of the Arabs.

“The Palestinians and Hamas don’t want peace,” he pronounced. “It is inscribed in their hearts to hate the Jews and to expel them from Israel. The Palestinians can live anywhere else in the Middle East, but they choose to cope with the difficulties in Israel in order to have a chance to harm the Jews.”

Despite their nefarious goals, however, he continued, the Arab world, even avowed enemies ISIS and Iran, will fail to harm Israel.

In fact, ISIS has an unexpected place in the divine plan – its role is actually to protect Israel from its enemies.

“ISIS will not be wiped out. God does not want it wiped out,” the rabbi said. “ISIS creates complications all over the world in certain countries so that they will leave Israel alone. ISIS and the Muslims hate Christians more than they hate Jews.”

Indeed, despite the combined effort of all the world’s superpowers, including US forces and the Russian military, ISIS has yet to be defeated. Since its founding in 2014, ISIS has committed dozens of terror attacks in Europe and Turkey and killed hundreds of civilians, apart from its genocidal plan to wipe out all non-Muslims within its territories.

As for Iran, Israel has little to fear — but America does, the respected leader said.

“Iran is still working to produce nuclear weapons,” the rabbi said. “America can use the [nuclear] agreement to reveal all the nuclear sites in Iran. But Israel is not in danger from these nuclear weapons. The threat of Iranian nuclear weapons is to America and the rest of the world.”

Rabbi Ben Artzi has made similar predictions in the past that have come true in shocking detail. Last month, Breaking Israel News reported a prediction made by the rabbi that black magic will make a comeback in the world, focused on world leaders like US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Less than two weeks later, opponents of President Trump gathered outside Trump Tower in New York City in an attempt to curse the president and his supporters, sending out a call on social media for others to join in, with detailed instructions on how to perform the black magic.

Another of the rabbi’s predictions that materialized concerned Russia providing Iran with the advanced S-300 anti-aircraft weapons system last summer.

Only 18 African infiltrators have entered Israel illegally since January 2016, the lowest number in recent years, the quarterly report of the Israeli Interior Ministry’s Population and Immigration Authority has found.
Before the construction of the Israel-Egypt border fence, a project proposed by the Israel Defense Forces and authorized by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, infiltrators—illegal border crossers—poured into Israel from the Sinai Desert by the thousands.

“Since 2012, when progress was made on building a ground obstacle on the southern border and a legislative amendment was applied to prolong the length of time for which illegal migrants can be held in custody, there has been a dramatic decrease in the number of infiltrators entering Israel illegally,” the Population and Immigration Authority’s report stated.
Since May 2016, not one African infiltrator has illegally entered Israel through the border fence with Egypt, the report added.
Israel’s highest influx of illegal migrants came in 2011, when 17,268 Africans entered Israel.

Two investor conferences in Japan, initiated by the Foreign Investments & Industrial Cooperation Authority of the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry will be taking place on March 8-9, the first in Osaka, the other in Tokyo.

The conferences are held in cooperation with Nikkei Business, the foremost business magazine in Japan. and senior officials from Japanese industry will be in attendance. They will focus on numerous investment opportunities in the field of advanced manufacturing in Israel, specifically in the life sciences.

At the conference in Tokyo, Hiroyuki Yashiro, President of TDK Lambda Global, will present the success story of TDK Lambda in Israel. Noam Zilbershtain, GM of Digital CZT Detectors CoE, GE Healthcare in Israel, will speak in Osaka with representatives of Japanese multinationals about the success of GE Healthcare in Israel. Japan is experiencing negative population growth due to a negative birthrate (1.4 children per family on average) and an exceptionally high life expectancy. The Japanese government is investing approximately 9.3 percent of GDP on the healthcare system and is working assiduously to revitalize it. To this end, the Japanese government is encouraging cooperation with entities outside Japan and between academia and industry.

Japan is an important trade partner for Israel. In 2015, Israeli exports to Japan reached close to $770 million, with imports from Japan to Israel reaching $1.3 billion. In addition, following the strengthening of relations between the two countries, the Israeli government made a decision in 2015 regarding an overall economic plan directing all relevant government ministries to further strengthen ties between the two countries.

FBI Makes Arrest for Bomb Threats Against Jewish Organizations

The FBI arrested a man on Friday in St. Louis, Missouri on charges of making bomb threats to at least eight Jewish community centers, but the vast majority of the threats remain unanswered.
Juan Thompson is accused of making bomb threats over the course of January 28 to February 22 against the Anti-Defamation League office in New York, a Jewish history museum in New York, as well as JCCs and Jewish schools in New York, Michigan, Dallas and San Diego. Thompson was fired from his job as a reporter for The Intercept in early 2016 for fabricating stories. The FBI alleged that Thompson “appears to have made some of the JCC threats as part of a sustained campaign to harass and intimidate” a former girlfriend.

There have been five waves totaling 122 bomb threats at nearly 100 Jewish community centers and Jewish schools nationwide this year. No bombs were found at any of the locations. Last Monday, 31 bomb threats were called into 23 JCCs and eight Jewish day schools
In the last three weeks, Jewish cemeteries have been vandalized and dozens of gravestones toppled in University City, Missouri; Philadelphia and Rochester, New York.

Mysterious, Ancient Stone Monument Unearthed in Galilee [PHOTOS]
Archaeologists from Tel Hai College, the Israel Antiquities Authority and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem announced the discovery of a 4,000-year-old dolmen, a large table-like stone structure, near Kibbutz Shamir in the Upper Galilee. The dolmen is marked by its huge dimensions and the artistic decorations engraved in its ceiling.
According to the Israel Antiquities Authority, the dolmen was discovered inside a large chamber measuring 2 by 3 meters, and was covered by an enormous stone estimated to weigh at least 50 tons, one of the largest stones ever used in the construction of dolmens in the Middle East. The dolmen itself was enclosed in an enormous stone heap (tumulus) approximately 20 meters in diameter, and its stones are estimated to weigh a minimum of 400 tons. At least four smaller dolmens that were positioned at the foot of the decorated dolmen were identified inside the stone heap.

Cannabis legalization and medical cannabis activists welcomed Sunday’s cabinet decision to decriminalize cannabis in Israel.
Saul Kaye, the founder of the iCAN Global Accelerator for the Israeli Medical Cannabis Industry, said the move would lead to a spike in ICAN innovative ventures. The company invests, connects professionals from various industries, and serves as a hub of knowledge, awareness and reeducation regarding Israeli Canna-Tech for audiences worldwide.
ICAN co-founder Saul Kaye said the move would benefit entrepreneurship and investment into cannabis in Israel and create jobs.

In the wake of rising anti-Semitism in America, Knesset opposition leader Isaac Herzog has called for emergency preparations to receive a wave of American immigrants to Israel.
At a meeting on Monday of the Zionist Union party he heads, Herzog said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should prepare for massive “waves of immigration” of American Jews.
“I want to express my shock and strong condemnation for the outbreak of incidents of anti-Semitism in the United States, France and other places around the world,” Herzog said. “I call upon the government of Israel to urgently prepare a national emergency plan for the possibility that we will see waves of immigration of our brothers to Israel.”
Herzog’s remarks came one day after vandals toppled dozens of headstones in a Philadelphia Jewish cemetery. This was the second incident of this kind, and there have been multiple waves of bomb threats made to Jewish institutions around the US.
Herzog was careful to add that he did not intend this call as a criticism of US President Donald Trump. He explained that he was “convinced that the American government would do everything it can to harshly and aggressively eradicate this phenomenon.”

Just like Biblical Jacob, a rabbi renowned for his piety left a deathbed message last week for Israel, explaining that the extreme difficulties facing the Jews today are the prophesied end-of-days pangs of Messiah. But the message was also meant to reassure Israel by revealing that a guardian angel is protecting the Jews.

After a throat operation last year, Rabbi Yaakov Edelstein, the chief rabbi of Ramat Hasharon, communicated only through writing notes. After he passed away last Thursday at the age of 93, his family discovered two notes he had written in the last hour of his life, bearing powerful messages concerning the end of days. The first message read, “Michael will rise up, for these are difficult times.”
Rabbi Yosef Berger, the rabbi of King David’s Tomb on Mount Zion, explained the meaning of the rabbi’s message.
“In Jewish tradition, when a tzaddik (righteous man) is about to leave the world, he receives a greater vision, a form of prophecy,” Rabbi Berger told Breaking Israel News. “Rabbi Edelstein was referring to the last chapter in Daniel that discusses the war of Gog and Magog preceding the Messiah.”
In the book of Daniel, Michael, the archangel and savior of the Jews, appears three times to bring mercy to the Jews at that difficult time.

1,800 Year-Old Column Engraved With Paleo-Hebrew Inscriptions Discovered
“For thus saith Hashem: After seventy years are accomplished for Bavel, I will remember you, and perform My good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.” (Jeremiah 29:12)
An 1,800-year-old limestone column capital engraved with two Hebrew inscriptions was discovered by the Council for Conservation of Heritage Sites during restoration and conservation work at an ancient synagogue in Israel’s northern Galilee village of Peqi’in.
The stone was found in the synagogue courtyard, and archaeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority arrived at the site to examine the special find. The Authority said in a statement, “A preliminary analysis of the engravings suggests that these are dedicatory inscriptions honoring donors to the synagogue.”

“The ancient Hebrew letters on this stone look very different from modern Hebrew text,” explained Roni Segal, academic adviser for The Israel Institute of Biblical Studies, an online language academy, to Breaking Israel News. “The ancient alphabet is referred to as Paleo-Hebrew and was the common alphabet of the Levant and Sinai areas. These letters have been found on various stone engravings all over Israel and shed light on the Jewish presence in the land and their way of life since the time of the Second Holy Jerusalem Temple.”

Chief Rabbi Sets Value for Biblical Half-Shekel

In another essential step forward towards practically bringing the Third Temple, the Chief Sephardi Rabbi of Israel has set the current value of the Biblical half shekel every Jewish male was required to give to the Temple. This mitzvah (Torah commandment), performed in a merely symbolic manner for 2,000 years, is making a rapid comeback in many ways.
Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef issued a letter on Wednesday in response to inquiries from the public as to what sum to give to charity as a gesture symbolizing the Biblical commandment. In the days of the Temple, every male in Israel was obligated to donate a half-shekel of silver in the beginning of the month of Adar, which began on Wednesday. Based on the present market value of silver, Rabbi Yosef set the value of the Biblical half shekel at 23 NIS, or $6.23.
This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary–the shekel is twenty gerahs–half a shekel for an offering to Hashem. Exodus 30:13
The rabbi addressed the modern tradition of giving charity in place of this donation, which in Biblical times was used to pay for the operating expenses of the Temple.

In a first-ever for the Holy Land, an Israeli Christian Arab has become an Israeli Air Force (IAF) cadet. Only 10 percent of cadets who begin the prestigious course earn their pilot wings. Yet, for this Christian Arab, whose name cannot be revealed for security reasons, just passing the rigorous medical, physical and mental abilities tests is a historic accomplishment.
“This is a proud day for Israel’s army,” stated Dr. John A.I. Grossman, Chairman of LIBI USA, the official welfare fund of the IDF, to Breaking Israel News. “While the international community continues to make false claims against Israel’s army, we see again and again how inclusive it really is.”
Only Jewish citizens of Israel, Druze and Circassians are required by law to enlist in the military. Israeli Arabs, Christians or Muslims serve voluntarily.
Recently and for the first time, a Bedouin soldier was promoted to Colonel. Previously, Druze cadets completed the pilots course and served as pilots.
However, Christian Arab military enlistment is still in its infancy. Many Christian Arabs live in Muslim communities where there can be deep animosity towards anything “Israeli” and certainly its army.
It was recently reported in the Mako Hebrew news that a Christian IDF soldier received death threats on his Facebook page from Muslim Arabs who oppose Arabs serving in the IDF. They wrote, “We know who you are, where you serve and where your parents live. When you finish your patrol of the old city, we will wait for you at the mosque, where we will stab you.” Other Christian Arabs who volunteer for the military have faced incitement and harassment, including being called traitors by Muslim Arabs.

Israel’s arid southern region was revived as half its annual rainfall fell in just a few hours overnight on Wednesday. This sudden drenching is a last minute blessing, helping the desert bloom.
Eilat, the southernmost city in Israel, was hit by a sudden end-of-season storm, bringing massive amounts of rain and hail that shut down the airport and stranded travellers. More than half of its annual average of 1.18 inches fell in just a few hours overnight, flooding many roads. The rain was accompanied by thunder and high winds, and officials were forced to close the airport due to flooded runways and poor visibility. Coin-sized hail, an unusual phenomenon, pelted many areas in southern Israel.
Seasonal rain in Israel is specified in the Bible as a sign of God’s favor, affecting Israel’s relationship with the other nations.

Trump Condemns Anti-Semitism, Vows to Protect America From Radical Islam [WATCH]

As he took the podium Tuesday night, before a joint session of Congress, President Donald Trump addressed head-on the issue of hate in America, specifically anti-Semitic hate.

“Tonight, as we mark the conclusion of our celebration of Black History Month, we are reminded of our Nation’s path toward civil rights and the work that still remains,” was Trump’s opening line, followed immediately by: “Recent threats targeting Jewish Community Centers and vandalism of Jewish cemeteries, as well as last week’s shooting in Kansas City, remind us that while we may be a Nation divided on policies, we are a country that stands united in condemning hate and evil in all its forms.”

The president did not mention Jews at any later point, and his sole direct reference to Israel was part of his comments on action against US foes in the Middle East: “I have […] imposed new sanctions on entities and individuals who support Iran’s ballistic missile program, and reaffirmed our unbreakable alliance with the State of Israel.”

Trump had plenty to say about Islamic terrorism, emphasizing the newly legitimized use of the full term, “radical Islamic terrorism,” which officially replaced President Obama’s fainter use of “violent extremism.”

According to Politico, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, Trump’s national security adviser, implored the president to stop using “radical Islamic terrorism,” because, the new adviser argued, terrorists who call themselves Muslims aren’t following the teachings of Islam. McMaster also argued that by using the phrase “radical Islamic terrorism,” the president would have a harder time partnering with key Arab allies.

It appears that Trump paid no attention to McMaster on this point, as he opened his segment about terrorism saying: “Our obligation is to serve, protect, and defend the citizens of the United States. We are also taking strong measures to protect our nation from radical Islamic terrorism.”

The president continued:

“According to data provided by the Department of Justice, the vast majority of individuals convicted for terrorism-related offenses since 9/11 came here from outside of our country. “We have seen the attacks in France, in Belgium, in Germany and all over the world.

“It is not compassionate, but reckless, to allow uncontrolled entry from places where proper vetting cannot occur. Those given the high honor of admission to the United States should support this country and love its people and its values.

“We cannot allow a beachhead of terrorism to form inside America – we cannot allow our nation to become a sanctuary for extremists.

“That is why my Administration has been working on improved vetting procedures, and we will shortly take new steps to keep our nation safe – and to keep out those who would do us harm.

According to Google Maps, the Holy Temple has popped up in an entirely unexpected place: the Temple Mount.
Thanks to the efforts of a young Israeli, touring Solomon’s Temple is now as easy as typing “Temple Mount” into the Google Maps website. Anyone interested should take advantage of the opportunity today, since the virtual tour has only recently returned from being banned by Google and may be removed again in the near future.
Many Jews are reluctant to visit the Temple Mount, concerned about straying into areas that are forbidden by Jewish law. Elyasaf Libi, a resident of Mount Bracha in Samaria, set out to solve that issue by educating Jews on how to navigate the Temple Mount. Towards that end, he created a 3D virtual tour of the Temple and uploaded it to Google Maps. For good measure, he made two versions: the First and the Second Temple.
Libi hired Yehudah Vinograd, a computer programmer who specializes in 3D and computer games, to create the tour. The virtual recreation of the Temple was a relatively easy project for Vinograd, who has produced 3D presentations of archaeological and historical sites, as well as video games and commercial presentations.

Second Jewish Cemetery Desecrated in Philadelphia

The Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Philadelphia became the second Jewish burial ground in the US to be desecrated inside of a week overnight on Saturday. Between 75 and 100 headstones were disturbed and damaged, said police on Sunday.
While authorities have thus far termed the incident “institutional vandalism” rather than an anti-Semitic act, three Christian cemeteries surrounding Mt. Carmel were untouched.
“As far as we know it’s limited to the Jewish cemetery,” said local Detective Jim McReynolds.
The damage was discovered by a man who arrived at the cemetery on Sunday morning to visit his father’s grave and found it had been knocked over. When police were summoned, they realized the extent of the destruction.
The incident took place less than a week after a similar attack on a Jewish burial ground startled the nation. Nearly 200 headstones were toppled and damaged at the Chesed Shel Emeth cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri, prompting widespread condemnation from political and community leaders.

Last week NASA announced the discovery of a relatively close star system, but according to one opinion, the discovery comes 2,000 years after it was first described in detail by a classic Jewish text as a necessary element preceding the Messiah.
The Israeli filmmaker and lecturer who revealed the connection claims the new astrological discovery goes by many names but in his video on the subject, he calls it by its most popular: Nibiru.
NASA research revealed seven planets orbiting a dwarf star, called Trappist-1, roughly eight percent the size of the sun and located 39 light years away from Earth. Four of its seven planets are similar in size and mass to the Earth, and three are in what scientists believe is a habitable zone.
The recent discovery required NASA’s most advanced telescope, the Spitzer space telescope, to verify its results, but Jewish sources have been discussing the appearance of a seven-planet star system preceding the Messiah for thousands of years.

The palace of the Biblical King Sennacherib, long buried underneath the tomb of the prophet Jonah in the Biblical city of Nineveh, has incredibly been discovered by Iraqi archaeologists as a result of efforts by the Islamic State (ISIS) to destroy the site and loot its priceless antiquities.
The shrine is, according to tradition, built on the burial site of Jonah, known as Nabi Yunis in the Koran. Located in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, the structure was destroyed by ISIS in July 2014. When the city was liberated by Iraqi troops a few weeks ago, archaeologist were dismayed to find that not only had ISIS used dynamite to destroy the shrine, but the terror group had tunneled underneath and carried away hundreds of artifacts to sell on the black market.

Why Israelis Like Trump

It is refreshing to the Israeli ear to hear an American presidential candidate not beating around the bush, but rather addressing issues without the constraints of liberal political correctness.
Israel is a very pro-American country, maybe the most in the world. As in the past, Israelis followed the U.S. presidential election with extreme interest, amazed that the American political system did not produce more palatable presidential candidates.
In a poll taken following Donald Trump’s victory, 83% of Israelis said they consider Trump a pro-Israel leader; by contrast, another poll showed that 63% view Barack Obama as the “worst” U.S. president with regard to Israel in the last 30 years. Indeed, after eight years of tense relations with the Obama administration, most Israelis are relieved to see a friend in the White House. Moreover, on issues that are important to Israel—Iran and the Palestinians—there seems to be a greater convergence of views than before.
Trump’s stance on Iran is particularly important now, as Iran recently held a military exercise to test its missile and radar systems after the Trump administration imposed sanctions on Tehran for a recent ballistic missile test. When Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visits Trump in Washington DC this month, it’s worth following what the leaders will say about the Iran nuclear deal and what kind of role the U.S. will play in Israel going forward.

Vice President Mike Pence visited the Jewish cemetery near St. Louis, Mo., Wednesday to pitch in on efforts to repair more than 170 tombstones that were damaged by vandals.
During his visit, Pence stressed that the Trump administration will not tolerate anti-Semitism and is committed to fighting bigotry and hatred.
You have inspired this nation,” Pence told volunteers. “There’s no place in America for hatred or acts of prejudice or violence or anti-Semitism. I must tell you the people in Missouri are inspiring the nation by your love and care for this place, for the Jewish community in Missouri. The Trump administration is considering pulling the US out of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in protest of its blatant and incessant anti-Israel bias, Politico reported on Saturday. Israeli politicians welcomed the report.
The administration sees the Council as inherently anti-Israel, a common US criticism against an international body which, as of an April 2015 report, had condemned Israel more than every other country in the world combined. The Council consistently continues to abuse the Middle East’s lone democracy and to stay silent on the horrific human rights abuses of neighboring Arab states.
When the UNHRC was founded in 2006, the administration of then-President George W. Bush refused to seek a seat on the Council on the basis of its “singular focus” on Israel. In 2008, the US withdrew entirely. However, under former President Barack Obama, the US reversed its position and joined the UN body with the justification that change could be made from within

Israel Shuts Down Hamas-Run School in Jerusalem

The Israeli Education Ministry, Jerusalem District Police and Shin Bet security agency Thursday shut down a Hamas-operated school in eastern Jerusalem for incitement.
The Education Ministry said it had not licensed the Sur Baher neighborhood school for the current school year, after a review of its curriculum indicated that it “included content that undermines Israel’s sovereignty. The curriculum’s objectives were found to be compatible with Hamas ideology.”
According to Israel’s Channel 10, the school’s principal was questioned by police on suspicion of operating a school without a license. He was released under restrictive conditions.
“East Jerusalem schools that choose to follow [the ministry’s] curriculum receive all the necessary tools for success. Schools that teach incitement will be closed,” Education Minister Naftali Bennett said.

The necessary rectification of the world that must precede the arrival of Moshiach (messiah) is 98 percent complete, announced international lecturer and Torah scholar Rabbi Mendel Kessin recently. He made this claim during the first half of a two-part lecture which was delivered in a packed synagogue in Jerusalem.

“In the original plan of Creation, the one to do tikkun, which means to rectify creation, to dematerialise the universe, originally God wanted mankind to do the job. Not Jews. Mankind,” explained Rabbi Kessin.

The job of tikkun (literally, “fixing”), which was first assigned to Adam in the Garden of Eden, was to elevate physical existence into spiritual existence, the rabbi went on. “We need to create, or retransform, a physical universe into a spiritual universe. That ultimately becomes Olam Haba (The World to Come) and that’s the world we will exist in for eternity. That’s the purpose of man. To remove the physical barrier in order to make this universe spiritual.”
However, after 2000 years without success, God reassigned the task of tikkun from mankind globally to the Jews specifically and gave the Jewish people three strategies, what Rabbi Kessin called “tikkun devices”, to accomplish the job.

Netanyahu thanked Israel’s allies in the US and Australia for standing with Israel through challenges.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commended President Donald Trump for his sharp condemnation of anti-Semitism and anti-Semitic threats.

During his address on Wednesday to the Jewish community in Sydney, Australia, Netanyahu said Jews still face “a battle against those who seek to demonize our people and the resurgent anti-Semitism that we see in many parts of the world. It is something that we need to fight together.”

“I think this is important in Europe. It’s important in America. It’s very important that President Trump took a strong stand against anti-Semitism. And it’s important that we all continue to do so in the years ahead,” Netanyahu stated.

On Tuesday, Trump denounced anti-Semitism and threats against Jewish community centers as “horrible” and “painful,” saying more needed to be done “to root out hate and prejudice and evil.”

Speaking after a tour of the newly opened National Museum of African American History and Culture on Tuesday, Trump said that “this tour was a meaningful reminder of why we have to fight bigotry, intolerance and hatred in all of its very ugly forms.”

He was relating to the latest round of threats phoned in to 11 Jewish community centers across the US on Monday, including Chicago, Cleveland and Houston.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) headquarters and another Jewish school were since targeted with bomb threats on Wednesday, the fifth such recent wave.

Australia – ‘No Better Friend for the State of Israel’
Netanyahu also praised Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull for standing alongside Israel in the face of the United Nations’ bias and obsession with the Jewish state.

Israel is “much maligned in the United Nations,” Netanyahu pointed out. “I salute you, Malcolm Turnbull, and the governments of Australia who have stood up time and time again against this demonization, including recently. You refuse to accept this hypocrisy.”

“Standing up for Israel means standing up for simple truths. It doesn’t mean that we don’t have our imperfections. Which country is perfect? Well, Australia is pretty close, but none of us are perfect. But we seek all the time to improve. We seek all the time to do better,” Netanyahu declared.

Former Australian prime ministers John Howard and Tony Abbott were also present at the synagogue for Netanyahu’s address along with hundreds of members of the Jewish community.

“There is no better friend for the State of Israel,” Netanyahu declared of Australia’s alliance with the Jewish state.

An Israeli minister on an official trip to Turkey tried to strike an unusual bargain with a Turkish official: two Sabra elephants for the return of a priceless Israeli artifact dating back to Biblical times that has been languishing in a Turkish museum for almost 150 years.
Miri Regev, Israel’s Minister of Culture and Sport, was in Gaziantep accompanying an Israeli basketball team for their match against a Turkish team. The day after the game, Regev had an informal meeting with the mayor of the city, Fatma Sahin. During the conversation, Sahin mentioned that the city’s zoo was suffering from a pachyderm problem: they only had one elephant and wanted more.
The Turkish mayor said jokingly, “We’re willing to work for it.”
A native Israeli used to bargaining in the open-air shuk, Regev jumped on the opportunity. Via a translator, she said to Sahin, “We’ll make a deal. We’ll give them two elephants, and they’ll give us the inscription of Hezekiah.”
Though Regev’s comment may have sounded like light-hearted banter, the Israeli government’s interest in the inscription is serious. The inscription of Hezekiah records the construction of the tunnel of the Shiloah spring that runs under the Temple Mount and essentially confirms the Biblical account of the project.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on a state visit to Australia, on Thursday told reporters he favors pardoning Private (formerly Sergeant) Elor Azaria, “Due to the special circumstances soldiers like him are under,” as he put it, Israel Radio reported.
Azaria was sentenced to 18 months in military jail after he was convicted for killing a neutralized terrorist in Hebron last year. Netanyahu explained that those special circumstances are the fear experienced by soldiers and other security forces of defending themselves during terrorist attacks, lest a court later punish them for their actions.
Also on Thursday, the PM met again with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and members of his Cabinet, for the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOUs).

It is a “reasonable probability” that terrorists will use biological weapons to create a pandemic that would kill tens of millions, Bill Gates told an international security conference last Saturday. The scenario the billionaire philanthropist described is disturbingly similar to plagues prophesied to occur in the end-of-days, and terrorists have already made attempts to bring it on.

“Whether it occurs by a quirk of nature or at the hand of a terrorist, epidemiologists say a fast-moving airborne pathogen could kill more than 30 million people in less than a year,” Gates announced in his address to the Munich Security Conference.
“And they say there is a reasonable probability the world will experience such an outbreak in the next 10-15 years.”

NASA Reveals Several Earth-Like Planets Around a Sun

NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope has revealed the first known system of seven Earth-size planets around a single star. Three of these planets are firmly located in the habitable zone, the area around the parent star where a rocky planet is most likely to have liquid water.
The discovery sets a new record for greatest number of habitable-zone planets found around a single star outside our solar system. All of these seven planets could have liquid water – key to life as we know it – under the right atmospheric conditions, but the chances are highest with the three in the habitable zone.
“This discovery could be a significant piece in the puzzle of finding habitable environments, places that are conducive to life,” said Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of the agency’s Science Mission Directorate in Washington. “Answering the question ‘are we alone’ is a top science priority and finding so many planets like these for the first time in the habitable zone is a remarkable step forward toward that goal.”

Intended to showcase the growing Jewish-Vatican relationship, the theme of the exhibit actually brings this sore subject to the forefront, raising suspicions that despite a long tradition of Vatican protests, the rumors persist for good reason.
Arnold Nesselrath, a Vatican Museums official, announced the theme of the upcoming exhibit on Monday, noting that the connection between the Vatican and the menorah is graphically illustrated in an image frescoed on a wall of the Vatican’s Borgia Apartment. The apartment was built for Pope Alessandro VI, whose papacy began in 1492, the same year Spanish Jews were given the choice of forced conversion to Catholicism or expulsion.

Jewish Governor of Missouri Invokes “Tikkun Olam” in Call to Repair Vandalized Cemetery

Missouri’s Jewish governor, Eric Greitens, invoked the Torah-based Hebrew concept of “tikkun olam”, or “fixing the world”, in a call for volunteers to help repair dozens of vandalized headstones at the Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery in St. Louis on Wednesday.
The attack, which left over 200 headstones at the Jewish burial ground toppled or damaged, was discovered on Monday morning and immediately garnered strong condemnation from politicians and Jewish groups. Greitens called the vandalism “despicable” and “cowardly”.
In a Facebook post, the governor asked for volunteers to join him at the cemetery on Wednesday in order to clean up the damage. He referenced a fundamental Jewish ideal as inspiration for the community effort.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called on the Palestinians to pursue another intifada against Israel while claiming the Israeli government is a “cancerous tumor” that should be confronted.
“The people of Palestine have no option other than keeping the flames of fighting alight by relying on Allah the Exalted and by relying on their innate capabilities, as they have genuinely done so until today,” Khamenei said, according to a translation of a speech on his website.
“… by Allah’s permission, we will see that this intifada will begin a very important chapter in the history of fighting and that it will inflict another defeat on that usurping regime,” Khamenei said Tuesday, Reuters reported.

Inspectors of the Israel Antiquities Authority Unit for the Prevention of Antiquities Robbery caught on Monday a cell of antiquities robbers while they were conducting illegal excavations in an ancient cave near the area of Gvaot Goral in the Negev.
The presumed robbers apparently aimed at finding a hidden treasure which would have been buried in the cave according to a Bedouin legend. This cell is the second one caught in the south in the past month alone.
The four members of the cell, residents of the Bedouin village of al-Sayed near Shokat Junction, were caught illegally digging in an ancient cave at the foothills of the Pahar fortress, a grand archaelogical site containing remains of a fortress from biblical times (7th century B.C). The IAA inspectors had received intelligence on the activities of the cell a few weeks but were unable to reach the site in time.

Israel “Pivoting to Asia”, Netanyahu Declares in Singapore

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel is “pivoting toward Asia” during an official visit to Singapore.
Netanyahu enjoyed a state dinner Monday with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, with both leaders praising the nation’s strong bonds and similarities.
Lee praised Israel’s assistance in building Singapore’s armed forces, and said his country believes a two-state solution is the only way to achieve peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

“Israel is pivoting toward Asia in a very clear and purposeful way,” Netanyahu, who was making the first-ever visit to Singapore by an Israeli prime minister, told Lee at the state dinner. “Next month I’ll go to China; somewhat later this year Prime Minister [Narendra] Modi of India will come to visit Israel. Perfectly poised between China and India is Singapore, and I’m not [saying this] merely in the geographic sense, I’m saying that as a gateway to Asia, Singapore is a perfect partner.”
In the past, the relationship between Israel and Singapore was relatively discreet, partly due to Singapore’s large Muslim population and its location between Indonesia and Malaysia, both Muslim-majority countries. Netanyahu’s visit, therefore, marks a significant warming of relations between the countries.

Fourteen U.S. Baptist leaders returned from Israel this week after learning about the Jewish state beyond the headlines and building Christian-Jewish bridges, in a mission, Feb. 13-20, organized by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (The Fellowship).
The Baptist leaders toured Christian and Jewish holy sites including the Western (Wailing) Wall and Old City of Jerusalem, the Sea of Galilee, Masada, Caesarea, Muhraka (Horn of Carmel) and Meggido. The group also made a special visit to Israel’s Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem.
“Visiting the Holy Land of Israel is a great privilege. We are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to learn about the Jewish homeland and our Christian heritage and to strengthen our connection to the Israeli people and most importantly, to G-d,” said Rev. Samuel Tolbert, a trip leader and president of the National Baptist Convention of America (NBCA).

Report: Israel Struck Hezbollah in Syria Overnight; IDF Neither Confirms Nor Denies

IDF jets reportedly struck a weapons shipment in Syria intended for terror group Hezbollah overnight on Tuesday, according to Lebanese media.
Several targets near the Syrian capital of Damascus were hit around 3:30 am on Wednesday morning, including a weapons convoy apparently headed for Lebanon-based terror organization Hezbollah, an avowed enemy of Israel.
Other targets struck belonged to the Assad regime’s forces, the Syrian Army 3rd Division, media reported. Weapons caches were also blown up.
A spokesperson for the nearby city of Yarboud told media that Israeli jets had fired six missiles at the targets, while anonymous security sources said that only two missiles had been fired.

Reports said that Israeli Air Force craft approached from Lebanon so as not to encounter Russian defense systems operating in Syria.
The IDF refused to comment, neither confirming nor denying the attack, in adherence to a long-standing policy not to respond to foreign reports. However, it is widely understood that Israel regularly takes military action to stop Hezbollah from getting weapons.

Iran’s Leader Calls Israel a ‘Fake’ Nation, ‘Dirty Chapter’ in History

Khamenei again resorted to open and blatant anti-Semitism when he called for the destruction of the Jewish state.

Iran’s supreme leader on Tuesday used the podium of a pro-Palestinian gathering in Tehran to lash out at Israel, calling the Jewish state a “fake” nation in a “dirty chapter” of history.

The remarks by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei were some of his most vitriolic against Israel, which Iran’s seeks to destroy.

Every four years since the early 1990s, Tehran has hosted a similar conference in support of the so-called Palestinian cause, assembling foreign guests and those who oppose Israel’s existence.

Speaking to the gathering, Khamenei said Israel was created by bringing Jews from other parts of the world to the Mideast region to settle in the land of the Palestinians in order to replace its “true entity.”

The creation of Israel is “one of the dirty chapters of history that will be closed, with the grace of God,” he threatened.

Khamenei Supports Terrorism Against Israel
The supreme leader, who has final say on all state matters in Iran, also urged all Muslims to support the Palestinians and “resistance” movements — a reference to anti-Israeli terrorist groups such as Hamas and Lebanon’s Shiite Hezbollah group, which is one of Iran’s terror proxies. Iran has always been their staunch ally and supporter.

The “resistance movements should have all necessary instruments,” Khamenei added. He praised the fighters, alledging that they were succeeding in “preventing the domination of the Zionist regime in the entire region.”

Israel is a “cancerous tumor” that requires a “step by step” treatment, he said. In 2015, Khamenei predicted that Israel would not exist after 25 years.

Some 80 delegations, mainly from Islamic countries as well as pro-Palestinian activists, attended the two-day meeting. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and several government officials also attended the conference.

The venue was decorated with a large map of Israel covered in the colors of the Palestinian flag.

Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which brought the Islamists to power, Iran has not recognized Israel. It supports anti-Israeli terror groups and has vowed on numerous occasions to obliterate the Jewish state.

In 2015 it was revealed that Khamenei was again promoting Israel’s destruction through the publication of a book called Palestine, consisting of 416 pages that describe a plan to wipe out the Jewish state.

Khamenei, described by a blurb about the book as “the flagbearer of Jihad to liberate Jerusalem,” delivers one clear message in his work: Israel has no right to exist, and this is how it can be destroyed.

The Farsi words nabudi (annihilation),” imha (fading out) and zaval (elimination) underscore the book’s message.

Two rockets hit Israel following drone strike against ISIS in Sinai.

Two rockets were fired into Israel from the Egyptian-controlled Sinai Peninsula Monday morning, less than two days after an Israeli drone strike killed five ISIS terrorists in the peninsula.
IDF officials say two projectiles were launched from inside Sinai towards Israel. The two rockets reportedly landed in open spaces in the Eshkol region in the western Negev. No injuries or damage have been reported.
On Sunday, the ISIS terror group claimed that five members of its Sinai Peninsula branch were killed in an Israeli drone attack Saturday night.
The attack took place near the Sinai border with the Gaza Strip, outside of the city of Rafiah.
According to the Amaq news agency, the five terrorists killed in Saturday’s strike had been preparing to fire a rocket at Israel.

New technology enabling scientists to manipulate genes, mixing human genes and organs with those of animals, is a disturbing trend in science which one rabbi believes mirrors the sin that led to global destruction in the generation of Noah.
Last week, the National Academies of Sciences and Medicine released a new report including recommendations to ensure genetic research done in the United States is performed responsibly and ethically. In essence, this report gave the greenlight to gene research, even though funding for such research is currently banned by the government because of the ethical dilemmas it raises.

The new technology bears with it practical risk. Genetic research can take two forms: gene editing to cure or prevent disease, and gene editing to enhance humans. Genetics is uncharted territory and scientists could accidentally introduce a dangerous mutation that will harm future generations, or, in an attempt to create vaccines, inadvertently create a superior form of the disease which could threaten mankind.
Rabbi Moshe Avraham Halperin of the Machon Mada’i Technology Al Pi Halacha (the Institute for Science and Technology According to Jewish Law) stated in response to the report that there are clear Torah guidelines for this new technology. Rabbi Halperin referred to the Biblical law concerning mixing of species.

Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and US Held Secret Peace Summit Last Year

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu participated in a secret diplomatic summit a year ago in Aqaba, Jordan, with then-U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Jordan’s King Abdullah and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Haaretz reported Sunday.
At the meeting, Kerry reportedly presented a regional peace framework that included recognition of Israel as a Jewish state and the renewal of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations with the support of Arab nations. Netanyahu responded that he would have trouble garnering support for Kerry’s proposal within Israel’s governing coalition.
Several months later, Kerry presented Netanyahu with a framework to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including a demilitarized Palestinian state based on the 1967 lines with land swaps, with Jerusalem serving as the capital of both Israel and the Palestinian state. Netanyahu rejected the proposal.

It may not be marked on your calendar, but since 1999, February 21 has been designated as International Mother Language Day by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The goal of the day is to encourage sustainable futures through multilingual education.
“Through the ease of international travel and the wonders of the internet, knowing various languages is often crucial to business success,” noted Roni Segal, academic adviser for eTeacher, an online language academy, to Breaking Israel News. “When one learns another language, they not only are able to communicate to more people but they also gain insight into the culture and nuances of those who speak that language.”
The date of International Mother Language Day was chosen to commemorate a tragic event which occurred in Pakistan in 1952. At the time, students were demonstrating for the Bangla language to be recognized as one of the two national languages of Pakistan. Police opened fire at the protest, killing four. These student deaths, caused by their determination to preserve their mother tongue, are remembered on International Mother Language Day. The day is also celebrated with programs which encourage the use and survival of various languages

Hezbollah Will Try to Infiltrate Israel in Next War: Military Analyst

Iran-backed militia Hezbollah will try to cross the Israeli border and will attempt to capture territory inside northern Israel in the next round of fighting between the sides, according to a senior military analyst.
Brig.-Gen. (ret.) Dr. Shimon Shapira, a former military secretary to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his first term as prime minister and now a senior research associate at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, said Hezbollah General Secretary Hassan Nasrallah is training special forces to take over Israeli settlements near the Lebanese border.
“Hezbollah now has rich combat experience in Syria, in places such as Aleppo and Damascus that have prepared them for this mission,” Shapira said.
Brig. Gen. Yossi Kuperwasser, an ex-director of the research division in IDF Military Intelligence, and director general of the Ministry of Strategic Affairs, noted Nasrallah’s statement in 2006 that if he’d known how fiercely Israel would respond to the cross-border abduction of IDF soldiers Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev he never would have authorized the operation.

IDF Shooter of Hebron Terrorist Sentenced to 18 Months

Elor Azaria, the IDF soldier convicted of manslaughter for killing an unarmed terrorist, has been sentenced to a year and a half in jail. He will serve the sentence in a military prison. He was also reduced in rank from Sergeant to Private, and received an additional suspended sentence.
The defense has already announced it intends appealing the conviction to the Supreme Court, and has requested a stay of sentence until the appeal has been heard. The prosecution, which had requested a 3-5 year sentence, has objected, and demanded he immediately begin serving the sentence. It told the court it was considering appealing what it regards as unwarranted leniency. The maximum sentence is 20 years.

After attending her first monthly Security Council meeting, new US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley told members of the press that the United States would no longer “turn a blind eye” to the blatant anti-Israel bias at the international organization.
“The first thing I want to do is talk about what we just saw in there,” she began before saying that she had found the regular meeting on Middle East issues “a bit strange.”
“The Security Council is supposed to discuss how to maintain international peace and security,” Haley noted, yet the meeting had not touched on even one of the most pressing issues in the region.
“The discussion was not about Hezbollah’s illegal build-up of rockets in Lebanon. It was not about the money and weapons Iran provides to terrorists. It was not about how we defeat ISIS. It was not about how we hold Bashar al-Assad accountable for the slaughter of hundreds and thousands of civilians.

Last November settlement leaders celebrated the victory of Donald Trump over Hilary Clinton for president, expecting the departure of former President Barack Obama from the White House to usher in an unlimited period of Israeli building around Judea and Samaria. More recently, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu looked more relaxed and confident last week following his meeting with Trump at the White House than at any time in recent years.
But whereas in Washington the two leaders opened a door to “new ideas” to solving the Israel-Palestinian conflict apart from a two-state solution, the prime minister received a jolt back to reality Monday when the prime minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, said in no uncertain terms that his country is committed to the traditional model for Middle East peace building.

In a startling lecture, a noted rabbi labelled the anti-Israel movement prevalent in global politics today as the first stage in a two-part End of Days prophecy, noting that this stage, a Christian-Muslim alliance, is ending as America’s new president severs ties with the Islamic world. “They will come together against Israel,” said Rabbi Zamir Cohen, a noted scholar and head of the Beitar Illit Yeshiva, in a recent lecture. He went on to describe a second stage of the process in which the alliance was broken and the Christians began helping the Jews. “When they come against us, there will break out a conflict between them, and then they will strike at each other.”
Rabbi Shimon Apisdorf, a prominent Jewish educator and bestselling author, agreed, saying that the first stage has already happened: Islam and Christianity have aligned against Israel – and the union has manifested in a notoriously anti-Israel international body.
“The epicenter of this united effort against Israel is most apparent in the United Nations,” stated Rabbi Apisdorf to Breaking Israel News.

Israel Attacked With Missiles From Sinai

Two rockets fired from the Sinai Peninsula targeted southern Israel on Monday morning, landing in open fields, said the IDF. No one was injured and no damages were reported.
No air raid sirens were activated, as the IDF determined that the missiles would land in empty, open territory. They fell within the area of the Eshkol Regional Council, bordering the Gaza Strip and the Sinai.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, though earlier in the month an ISIS affiliate group took credit for four rockets launched from the Sinai, a hotbed of terror insurgency, at the Israeli resort town of Eilat on the country’s southernmost tip. It seems likely the same group is behind Monday’s attack.

Three of the rockets were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome; the fourth fell into an open field. There were no Israeli casualties or damages.

World Trade Center Bomber Dies in US Prison

Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, known as “The Blind Sheikh“, died on Saturday in a Federal prison in South Carolina while serving a life sentence for masterminding the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

The WTC car-bombing attack left six dead and approximately 1,000 injured. Abdel-Rahman was arrested on June 24, 1993, along with nine of his followers. On October 1, 1995, he was convicted of seditious conspiracy, and in 1996 was sentenced to life in solitary confinement without parole. He was 78 years old when he passed away.

He was also accused of planning to blow up the Holland and Lincoln tunnels in New York. He was the spiritual leader of Al-Gama Al-Islamiyya, an Egyptian Sunni Islamist movement considered a terrorist organization by the United States.

His death is a timely note concerning the ongoing debate over President Trump’s travel ban. In 1990, Abdel Rahman was issued a tourist visa to visit the United States by the consul of the United States Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan, despite his name being listed on a U.S. State Department terrorist watch list. He was issued a green card in 1991, despite his tourist visa being revoked several months earlier. His green card was revoked in 1992, but he was later granted political asylum, despite giving rabidly anti-American sermons at several mosques
