Ocasio-Cortez Does It Again: ‘Americans Are Dying’ From Global Warming

Democratic socialist candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may have met her toughest opponent yet … and it’s not a political challenger.
It’s reality.
The wide-eyed 28-year-old, who is running for Congress in New York, has already made a series of gaffes which call into question her grasp of basic economics and international relations.
Bernie-backed Ocasio-Cortez more recently put her foot in her mouth by declaring that Immigration and Customs Enforcement “sexually assaults women with impunity,” despite not having any solid evidence to back up this shocking claim.

That wild accusation was even more disturbing in light of the sexually-motivated murder of Mollie Tibbetts by an illegal alien, the exact kind of situation that ICE agents are working overtime to prevent.

The socialist candidate seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. Not deterred by her chain of blunders, Ocasio-Cortez made yet anther hysterical claim on Wednesday, and it’s about as far away from factual as possible.
In a hand-wringing Twitter post on August 22nd, she insisted that global warming was killing Americans.

“Our children’s lives are on the line,” Ocasio-Cortez began, getting an early start on the cliched hyperbole.
Do you believe Ocasio-Cortez should be called out for spreading hysteria with no facts?

“Americans are dying because of a government too coward (sic) to save the planet,” she continued. “It’s wrong. And we will need a Green New Deal to survive.”
Yes, Americans — but especially the children — are dying from climate change and unless we elect socialists like her, we won’t survive.
Setting aside the fact that the college-educated Democrat apparently can’t spell “cowardly,” there are more holes in her argument than even Al Gore sees in the ozone layer.
The socialist provided no backing for her over-the-top claim. Which Americans? Where? How? But don’t worry, we’re on the case anyway.

First is the pesky fact that life expectancy for Americans is going up, not down. A child born in the U.S. today can reasonably expect to live to be over 78 years old. That’s the highest it’s ever been, and up a whopping ten years from just 1963.
RELATED: Delusional Ocasio-Cortez Openly Claims ICE ‘Sexually Assaults Women With Impunity’
In other words, even if you believe that global warming has been increasing over the last half a century — something that experts are still debating — American life expectancy is increasing at the exact same time.
An inconvenient truth, indeed.
But what about pollution? Contrary to liberal claims that the U.S. desperately needs to join international agreements like the Paris accord in order to clean up its act, the data shows that America is leading the way when it comes to green living among major nations.
“In the most recent WHO report on air pollution, the United States was listed as one of the countries with the cleanest air in the world, significantly cleaner in fact than the air in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the UK, Japan, Austria and France,” Breitbart recently explained.

Alright, but surely deadly hurricanes, like the one currently barreling down on Hawaii, can be blamed on global warming. Right?
Wrong. Despite attempts by the media to link a perceived increase in tropical storms to global warming, scientists say there just isn’t enough evidence to make that claim.
“It is premature to conclude that human activity — and particularly greenhouse warming — has already caused a detectable change in Atlantic hurricane activity,” the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration admitted earlier this year.
In simple terms, even if some experts suspect that hurricanes may become more intense at some point in the future, the data doesn’t show it happening yet, which completely deflates Ocasio-Cortez’s sweeping claim about “Americans dying” because of warming.
The former director of the National Hurricane Center said essentially the same thing during a CNN appearance last year, during much media hype about supposedly “unprecedented” storm activity near the United States.
“I’m not — I probably wouldn’t attribute what we’re looking at here (to global warming),” stated hurricane expert Bill Reed.
“This is not an uncommon occurrence to see storms grow and intensify rapidly in the western Gulf of Mexico,” he continued, taking the wind out of CNN’s sails. “That’s as long as we’ve been tracking them, that has occurred.”

Here’s the bottom line: Every good news outlet, including this one, is expected to base their stories on fact. That’s why we provide links to sources and have high editorial standards for every article.
Public officials and candidates for office must be held to the same general standard. When someone like Ocasio-Cortez runs their mouth, for lack of a better term, and spouts off fear-based nonsense with no factual sources, everyone loses.
The left claims to hold the high ground on science. That’s debatable, but the New York socialist’s hysteria-as-platform approach is the opposite of factual … and it’s ridiculous no matter where you fall on the political spectrum.

Global Warming: Follow the Money
https://www.nationalreview.com/2015/02/global-warming-follow-money-henry-payne/
By HENRY PAYNE
February 25, 2015 9:00 AM

It isn’t the fossil-fuel companies that are polluting climate science.
Citing documents uncovered by the radical environmental group Greenpeace, a group of media outlets — including the New York Times and the Boston Globe — have attacked global-warming skeptic Wei-Hock (Willie) Soon for allegedly hiding $1.2 million in contributions from “fossil fuel companies.” The articles were the latest in an ongoing campaign by greens and their media allies to discredit opponents of the warming agenda.

But in allying themselves closely with activist groups with which they share ideological goals, reporters have fundamentally misled readers on the facts of global-warming funding.

In truth, the overwhelming majority of climate-research funding comes from the federal government and left-wing foundations. And while the energy industry funds both sides of the climate debate, the government/foundation monies go only toward research that advances the warming regulatory agenda. With a clear public-policy outcome in mind, the government/foundation gravy train is a much greater threat to scientific integrity.

Officials with the Smithsonian Institution — which employs Dr. Soon — told the Times it appeared the scientist had violated disclosure standards, and they said they would look into the matter. Soon, a Malaysian immigrant, is a widely respected astrophysicist, and his allies came quickly to his defense.

“It is a despicable, reprehensible attack on a man of great personal integrity,” says Myron Ebell, the director of Global Warming and International Environmental Policy for the Competitive Enterprise Institute, who questioned why media organizations were singling out Soon over research funding.

Indeed, experts in the research community say that it is much more difficult for some of the top climate scientists — Soon, Roger Pielke Jr., the CATO Institute’s Patrick Michaels, MIT’s now-retired Richard Lindzen — to get funding for their work because they do not embrace the global-warming fearmongering favored by the government-funded climate establishment.

“Soon’s integrity in the scientific community shines out,” says Ebell. “He has foregone his own career advancement to advance scientific truth. If he had only mouthed establishment platitudes, he could’ve been named to head a big university [research center] like Michael Mann.”

Mann is the controversial director of Pennsylvania State’s Earth System Science Center. He was at the center of the 2009 Climategate scandal, in which e-mails were uncovered from climatologists discussing how to skew scientific evidence and blackball experts who don’t agree with them.

Mann is typical of pro-warming scientists who have taken millions from government agencies. The federal government — which will gain unprecedented regulatory power if climate legislation is passed — has funded scientific research to the tune of $32.5 billion since 1989, according the Science and Public Policy Institute. That is an amount that dwarfs research contributions from oil companies and utilities, which have historically funded both sides of the debate.

Mann, for example, has received some $6 million, mostly in government grants — according to a study by The American Spectator — including $500,000 in federal stimulus money while he was under investigation for his Climategate e-mails.

Despite claims that they are watchdogs of the establishment, media outlets such as the Times have ignored the government’s oversized role in directing research. And they have ignored millions in contributions from left-wing foundations — contributions that, like government grants, seek to tip the scales to one side of the debate.

Last summer, a minority staff report from the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works gave details on a “Billionaire’s Club” — a shadowy network of charitable foundations that distribute billions to advance climate alarmism. Shadowy nonprofits such as the Energy Foundation and Tides Foundation distributed billions to far-left green groups such as the Natural Resources Defense Council, which in turn send staff to the EPA who then direct federal grants back to the same green groups. It is incestuous. It is opaque. Major media ignored the report.

Media outlets have also discriminated in their reporting on Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. The Times trumpeted Greenpeace FOIA requests revealing Soon’s benefactors, yet it has ignored the government’s refusal of FOIA filings requesting transparency in pro-warming scientists’ funding.

The Competitive Enterprise Institute, for example, has submitted FOIA requests asking for the sources of outside income of NASA scientist James Hansen (a key ally of Al Gore). The government has stonewalled, according to Ebell.

Media reporting further misleads readers in suggesting that “fossil fuel” utilities such as the Southern Company (a $409,000 contributor to Soon’s research, according to the Times) seek only to undermine climate science. In truth, energy companies today invest in solar, biomass, and landfill facilities in addition to carbon fuels. Companies such as Duke Energy, Exelon Corporation, NRG Energy, and Shell have even gone so far as to join with green groups in forming the U.S. Climate Action Partnership — an industry/green coalition that wants to “enact strong national legislation to require significant reductions of greenhouse gas emissions.”

This alliance worries a scientific community that is hardly unanimous that warming is a threat. Continued funding of contrarians such as Soon and Lindzen is essential to getting the best scientific research at a time when the EPA wants to shut down America’s most affordable power source, coal — at enormous cost to consumers.

The lack of warming for over a decade (witness this winter’s dangerous, record-breaking low temperatures) and Climategate are proof that the establishment has oversold a warming crisis. Attempts by the media to shut up their critics ignore the real threat to science.

PROMISE KEPT: Trump Makes Huge Move to Erase Obama’s Legacy
October 7, 2017 Benjamin Welton
https://www.christiannewsalerts.com/trump-makes-huge-move/?utm_medium=push&utm_source=AP&utm_campaign=onesignal
The key appeal of candidate Donald Trump was his promise to immediately role back the disastrous legacy of President Barrack Obama. This week, President Trump weakened Obama’s “green” empire.

According to The Washington Times, The Environmental Protection Agency said this week that they plan on formally repealing Obama’s Clean Power Plan (CPP). Such a move is designed to directly appeal to coal miners in Appalachia and factory workers in the Midwest, Northeast, and South.

Under the CPP, carbon emissions were sharply reduced, power plants were kept on a tight leash regarding carbon emissions, and the use of coal and other fossil fuels was severely limited.

The Trump administration and EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt consider the CPP to be unnecessarily draconian.

Also, by eliminating the CPP, the Trump administration hopes to reduce energy costs for everyday Americans just before winter arrives.

A leaked memo lays out the EPA’s new approach in full, stating, “The EPA proposes to determine that the CPP is not within Congress’s grant of authority to the agency under the governing statute. It is not in the interests of the EPA, or in accord with its mission of environmental protection consistent with the rule of law, to expend its resources along the path of implementing a rule, receiving and passing judgment on state plans, or promulgating federal plans in furtherance of a policy that is not within the bounds of our statutory authority.”

The CPP has yet to go into effect. If the Trump administration has its way, it never will.

On the legal front, Trump’s EPA is set to argue that the CPP violated U.S. law.

Specifically, the EPA believes that the CPP violates the EPA’s own Clean Air Act.

“The Clean Power Plan departed from this practice by instead setting carbon dioxide emission guidelines for existing power plants that can only realistically be affected by measures that cannot be employed to, for, or at a particular source.”

The Trump administration also believes that the CPP would force the EPA to violate its legal authority through “generation shifting” and “actions taken across the electrical grid.”

On a broader level, the new EPA approach aligns with President Trump’s attempts to reform the tax code and fix America’s broken immigration system. Under Obama, all three issues essentially “passed the buck” onto later generations, thus forcing them to deal with a stagnating economy, a labyrinthine tax law, and a demographic revolution that would insure Democratic power for future decades, if not centuries.

Environmental Protection Agency said this week that they plan on formally repealing Obama’s Clean Power Plan. Do you agree with rolling back EPA regulations?

Do you agree with rolling back Obama EPA regulations?

Yes
No
Next
The scrapping of the CPP would undoubtedly be met with howls of rage by climate change scientists and proponents of “green” energy. For such people, this ruling, along with President Trump’s decision to leave the Paris Climate Accord, is tantamount to accelerating the coming of the apocalypse.

For President Trump’s base, the dismissal of the CPP will be greeted with applause. After all, President Obama’s restrictions on coal and carbon emissions helped to cripple heavy industry in those parts of the country that were already struggling economically.

Without the CPP, maybe a glimmer of the heavy industry can return to this country.

HAZARD, Ky. (AP) — The head of the Environmental Protection Agency said Monday that he will sign a new rule overriding the Clean Power Plan, an Obama-era effort to limit carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants.

"The war on coal is over," EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt declared in the coal mining state of Kentucky.

For Pruitt, getting rid of the Clean Power Plan will mark the culmination of a long fight he began as the elected attorney general of Oklahoma. Pruitt was among about two-dozen attorney generals who sued to stop President Barack Obama's push to limit carbon emissions.

Closely tied to the oil and gas industry in his home state, Pruitt rejects the consensus of scientists that man-man emissions from burning fossil fuels are the primary driver of global climate change. President Donald Trump, who appointed Pruitt and shares his skepticism of established climate science, promised to kill the Clean Power Plan during the 2016 campaign as part of his broader pledge to revive the nation's struggling coal mines.

In his order Tuesday, Pruitt is expected to declare that the Obama-era rule exceeded federal law by setting emissions standards that power plants could not reasonably meet.

Appearing at an event with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Pruitt said, "The EPA and no federal agency should ever use its authority to say to you we are going to declare war on any sector of our economy."

Obama's plan was designed to cut U.S. carbon dioxide emissions to 32 percent below 2005 levels by 2030. The rule dictated specific emission targets for states based on power-plant emissions and gave officials broad latitude to decide how to achieve reductions.

The Supreme Court put the plan on hold last year following legal challenges by industry and coal-friendly states.

Even so, the plan helped drive a recent wave of retirements of coal-fired plants, which also are being squeezed by lower costs for natural gas and renewable power, as well as state mandates promoting energy conservation.

The withdrawal of the Clean Power Plan is the latest in a series of moves by Trump and Pruitt to dismantle Obama's legacy on fighting climate change, including the delay or roll back of rules limiting levels of toxic pollution in smokestack emissions and wastewater discharges from coal-burning power plants.

The president announced earlier this year that he will pull the United States out of the landmark Paris climate agreement. Nearly 200 countries have committed to combat global warming by reducing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming.

Associated Press writer Michael Biesecker contributed to this report from Washington.

NOAA Data Shows No Global Warming for 58 Years! Congress Investigates!
GRAPHICS ON Page
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has proven with their own data that there has been no Global Warming for…not just 2 decades…but for the last 6 decades!!

Does this surprise you? It shouldn’t! Congress is finally demanding answers!

The NOAA claims to have 58 years of data. In their latest press briefing, they only included a graph of the last 37 years.

Branco hits the nail on the head on the REAL truth about Global Warming! Money!

Political Cartoonist Branco hits the nail on the head on the REAL truth about Global Warming! Money!
The earlier data that they conveniently left out shows as much pre-1979 global cooling as post-1979 global warming!

In other words, over 6 decades, it has been a wash! <~ See the charts and an explanation by Tony Heller

What the data proves, is after the 50’s there was a period of global cooling and then global warming…bringing us right back to where we started!!!

Congress is going to investigate and just issued subpoenas to the Obama Administration.

The chairman of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology, Lamar Smith, has requested that the NOAA hand over their data. He is also demanding internal communications between employees involved in the study.

Smith argued that “When an agency decides to alter the way it has analyzed historical temperature data for the past few decades, it’s crucial to understand on what basis those decisions were made.”
Rise and fall in temperature follow an easy to see schedule. It gets hot during the day and cools at night, even in winter.

It gets hotter during the Summer, and gets cooler during the Winter.

…AND…over time… it gets hotter some years and colder some years…hotter and colder…hotter and colder…and has been doing that, without human intervention for quite the long time now!

THIS FULL NOAA GRAPH proves over the last 6 decades there has not been the great Global Warming that Al Gore claims!
Of course, there is PLENTY of evidence that Man-Made Global Warming is one GIANT hoax!

That “98% all scientists” referred to a laughably puny number of 75 of those 77 who answered “yes”."
That “98% all scientists” referred to a laughably puny number of 75 of those 77 who answered “yes”.”
One BIG example is the lie that Climate Change activists have been using that 98% of the Scientific community believe in man-made climate change.

But what they fail to tell you is that 98% comes from an equation of 75 out of 77 climate change scientists.

Imagine that! Al Gore lied, and he knows he lied!

Al Gore claimed that the seas were going to rise and islands would disappear! There were actually 35 lies in his movie “An Inconvenient Truth“.

In fact, in October 2007 the High Court in London had identified nine “errors” in Gore’s movie that were so outrageous that it caused a major upheaval when they wanted to show the movie about climate change in their secondary schools.

Research it yourself! Look at both sides carefully! You decide who has been caught lying and manipulating data!

No wonder the left wants to silence Global Warming critics!

Maybe it is because Al Gore said in 2008 that the entire Arctic Shelf would be gone by 2013 and that it is not only not gone, it is growing again. (By 30% in 2013)

Maybe it was because after he claimed in 2008 that the Arctic Ice would be totally gone by 2013, that by 2012, it had already grown by 50%.

Maybe it is because they found out that the scientists were fudging the data on the temperatures.

Maybe it is because they found out that the IPCC (United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) has been lying.

Maybe it is because the American public does not like to be threatened when they exercise their 1st Amendment rights and disagree with him.
Maybe it is because Climate models showing global warming have been wrong 95% of the time.
