Be careful of those who praise you

Acts 24:2 And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse [him],
saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy
deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,

In today’s message we read about the person whose name is Tertullus who is
set to accuse Paul before Felix the Roman governor. This Tertullus is
described as an orator bought by the High Priest Ananias to put forward the
case against Paul on behave of the Jewish religious people. What is
interesting is that Tertullus is a Roman fighting the case on behalf of the
Jews and furthermore his name means ‘triple hardened’. We also see
Tertullus being a master is his profession as orator starts with praises.

The religious Jews knew the best person to be used is someone from the
community. They also chose the perfectly right person who was hardened in
the heart. If we see even in spiritual warfare the same approach is taken.

Bible says we have the ‘old man’ (carnal part of us whom we are called to
crucify) and the ‘renewed man’ (part of us which is making efforts to
follow Christ), our spirit is strong and in command but our soul is weak
since these two fight against each other. It is our spirit which follows
one of the two and if it follows the ‘old man’ then we are deemed to vanity
(makes us goats) but if we follow the renewed man we mature into becoming
Sons of God and inheritors of God’s Kingdom.

Satan knows to destroy man or the Church the best candidate is one amongst
the Christians also one who is most hardened. Such people will be mostly
sweet talkers and man pleasers. They will praise for every silly thing and
reason showing themselves to be totally dependent on you but when the core
issues comes they will be your biggest foe not leaving a stone unturned to
attack you.

When people question or correct us let us not consider them to be our
enemies (finding faults and correcting is not the same). Let us remember
the most dangerous person to us is the one who is a “YES MASTER”. Most
Churches fail over a period because the leaders make people disciples for
themselves and not for Christ. They love the “YES MASTER” and these very
same break their Church instead of building it, they become the wolves in
sheep clothing devouring the flock.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Holy God. You alone are perfect and nothing in
all creation is. Lord we pray we do not fall prey to praises of man. Let
not our heart seek the things of the world. We pray for boldness to stand
for the truth and boldness to make corrections to ourselves. We prey we do
not follow our old man but the new man renewed in Christ...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the
spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that
the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin..

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old
man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Colossians 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old
man with his deeds;

Jeremiah 9:23-25
23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise [man] glory in his wisdom,
neither let the mighty [man] glory in his might, let not the rich [man]
glory in his riches:
24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and
knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment,
and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the
LORD.
25 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all [them
which are] circumcised with the uncircumcised;

Proverbs 3:11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be
weary of his correction:

Proverbs 15:10 Correction [is] grievous unto him that forsaketh the way:
[and] he that hateth reproof shall die.

Report: Trump can build the wall without congressional approval
December 28, 2018 by Jerry McCormick

As the clock ticks nearer to a new year and a Democrat takeover of the House, Dems just got some bad news out of Washington.

According to two USA Today columnists, President Donald Trump does not need Congress’ stamp of approval to get his border wall built.

Democrat Obstructionists
Democrats have been fighting Donald Trump and the Americans who voted for him over the border wall since the day Trump took office.

Even though legislation has been on the books for decades, Democrats have refused to give in.

And even though Democrats like Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and even Barack Obama are on record demanding a border wall, they now act like they never said it.

The man leading the current block of border wall financing, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), used to stand on the dais regularly demanding more border security.

But today, he says it is immoral and refuses to work with President Trump to provide the funding needed for the border wall.

But as it turns out, there is plenty of money in our government to pay for the wall.

Better yet, President Trump does not need the cooperation of Democrat obstructionists to make it happen.

Shifting Money
When it became clear that the Democrats were not going to work with President Trump, the White House started to investigate pockets of funds available in various departments of the government.

Congress has already allocated a budget for border security of $1.6 billion.

But that does not include funding for the border wall.

In addition to that money, Trump still needs an additional $5 billion in funding.

If the president wants to use executive privilege, about 50 times that amount is available throughout the government, according to the columnists.

For example, the Department of Agriculture has several hundred billion out in loans.

Trump could authorize the sale of some of those loans to the private sector, then use that money for the border wall.

Because these loans are a source of steady income, it may not be the most popular decision with our elected representatives, but who really cares?

Would You Like to See Trump Build the Wall?
Yes
No
Next
Elected representatives on both sides of the aisle have proven regularly they simply do not care what We The People want — but President Trump clearly does.

Build the wall, Mr. President, and give the American people that voted for you what they asked you for when they put you into the Oval Office.

Choosing the World over the Promised Land

Acts 7:12,13 But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent
out our fathers first. And at the second [time] Joseph was made known to
his brethren; and Joseph’s kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.

Yesterday I was debating in a Whatsapp group with some Calvinist who call
themselves Reformed Church, they believed in ‘Predertermined Salvation’.
They believe God beforehand had made His mind whom He would give the gift
of grace so as to save them. They also believe God orchestrates salvation
and even if the person sins God takes the person through and those who
backslide they believe were not genuinely chosen in the first place. These
teaching are today known as ‘Once Saved Always Saved and an excuse to allow
gratification of the flesh / sinning after becoming a ‘Christian’.

Coming to what Bible says:
God chose us from amongst the world to believe in Him (receive His Gospel).
He chose us for we had the seed of faith in us and He knew we would not let
it waste away (we are His flock). Those who repented and are found worthy
(sheep) will enter Heaven and enjoy eternal life but those not found worthy
(goats) who do not keep His Word / His Will, will not enter Heaven but will
be punished; they will not be punished for their sins but for rejecting His
Word / His Will. God is not a puppeteer but He is a potter a vineyard
husband, the clay needs to surrender in His hands and the vine needs to
bear fruit.

Amongst the twelve Apostles we find one failed. Amongst the twelve sons of
Jacob we see one did not go with him to seek the Promised Land and that was
Joseph. God did work wonders through Joseph and even made him a vessel to
save them when they experienced starvation due to a global famine. But we
see Joseph chose not to accompany his family to fulfil the Will of God that
Jacob and his son dwell in the Promised Land. We read Joseph died in Egypt
but his bones were carried to the Promised Land.

Today we who are travelers to the Promised Land (Heaven) speak the
testimony of Joseph (carry his bones), of how God worked in him. We talk
about the great things God did through him but ironically this Joseph chose
worldly fame over the Will of God. He did not want to sacrifice his fame
and worldly position for the Promised Land (Kingdom of God).

Let us understand even if God is doing great miracles through us it does
not mean we will enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23
many will take His name and even do great miracles in His name but since
they do not keep His (Father’s) Will He will refuse them entry to Heaven.

Let us get it into us, Christianity is not an easy journey and without the
help of the Holy Spirit (Helper) it is impossible for us to travel this
journey (thus both baptisms are necessary). We may have chosen Jesus as our
Savior who is The Way but if we do not travel that Way can we really say He
is our Savior?

Jesus said we will not be worthy of Him if we do not forsake this world and
do not lose our lives (worldly lives not necessarily our natural lives).

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and All-knowing God. Even though You know everything
and nothing is impossible yet You gave given us the choice to choose You
over vanity, You make salvation and choice and gave a Helper to those who
decide to choose You. Lord help us to forsake this world and the pleasures
of this world so that we are found worthy to enter your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Exodus 13:19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had
straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you;
and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

Hebrews 11:22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing
of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

Matthew 7:21-22
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in
heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many
wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.

Deuteronomy 6:3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do [it]; that it
may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God
of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and
honey.

John 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his
life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 12 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Post  Admin Thu 27 Dec 2018, 7:19 pm

Faith depends on heart state

John 12:39,40 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said
again, He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they
should not see with [their] eyes, nor understand with [their] heart, and be
converted, and I should heal them.

Yesterday’s message did stun many and cause many to think about the faith
they have.

Hebrews 11:1 speaks of faith a substance hoped for and evidence of things
not seen.

When we say faith there are many levels to it and Hebrews 11:1 speaks of
the first level that is hope. Faith starts with hope and progresses to
trust and then to little faith, to faith and ultimately to authority. The
NT uses different Greek words for each level. Jesus was not called a man of
faith but a man of authority for faith in Him was perfect.

Faith in simple words means believing in the Word of God / God. True faith
is unshakable for God does not change nor does His Word. Faith is only in
Christianity for Word of God is understood only by Christians, what other
religions have are beliefs / hope / trust which are based on falsehood.

Today’s message is very interesting for it says faith is given or held back
by the Lord and that is why the people in today’s message could not
understand and they were blinded. The message says God ‘hardened their
hearts’. It does not say God made their hearts hard but the heart which was
hard God further hardened.

We receive the gift of faith (this will then grow as a fruit) according to
our heart state. It may not be visible on the external but God can see it.
So any person who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior has a
heart which the Lord found worthy. Now after they receive the faith they
still having control of their hearts can cause it to be hard like the first
lot of Israelites who left Egypt did by this they kill the Fruit of faith.
God called them stiff-necked and told them He would erase their names from
the Book of Life.

Keeping the faith (letting the Fruit grow) requires a lot of efforts and
this is achieved by exercising our faith – works of faith. Jesus Christ
gave us the mission to reach out and save souls so that we could exercise
our faith and save our own soul. Let us not go out doing the mission of
Christ thinking we are doing a favor for God but let us understand we are
working in a GYM where we are strengthening our faith and doing a favor for
ourselves.

To be saved one needs to be continually in Christ and to remain in Christ
one requires to keep the faith. If I reject Christ as Lord and Savior can I
claim to be saved? Paul says if we willfully keep sinning we are rejecting
the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and if we do that there is no other sacrifice
to save us; also we are more condemned than before for mocking the Lord’s
sacrifice.

Bible says Word of God is not just vain words but has power thus the
Kingdom of God manifests with power. If we are Christians and the Word is
in us then how can there be no power manifesting through us?

Let us put our faith to test regularly so that it gets tested, grows and
manifests the power of God.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. We who are called to be your children too have
been given authority and power. We pray Lord we understand the power of
your Word that exist in us and may we exercise it and confirm our
inheritance in You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Hebrews 11:1-3
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of
God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the
knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Luke 4:32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with
power.

1 Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God [is] not in word, but in power.

1 Thessalonians 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but
also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as ye know
what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

Faith manifested

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the
works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he
do; because I go unto my Father.

We always confess the scripture ‘if we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ we
are saved’. What is ironic is many take acknowledging as believing and are
deceived to think they are saved.

Today’s message we see the Lord gives us a test to confirm if we truly
believe in Him and He says the things He did we too would do. This does not
mean everything Jesus did like raise the dead or walk on water we have to
do to prove believe but the purpose behind it according to the situation
and that purpose is glorify the Lord.

Today the lord is saying EVERY TRUE CHRISTIAN will do some or other miracle
or wonder which will glorify the Lord, and if the person says he or she is
a Christian and does not glorify the Lord then that statement is
questionable.

Let us introspect ourselves lives and see if we are truly manifesting
Christ not only in character but also in power? His character if is truly
in us then it has to manifest power for there is power in His
Name/Character (WHO HE IS). He has said in the Old Testament I AM THAT I AM
and if WHO HE IS, is in us then like Jesus we shall manifest power and
glory of the Father.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Awesome God. Your presence Lord causes manifestation of your
power. Lord we pray You increase in us so that your power is manifested in
us. We pray people see You in us through the manifestation and say we are
truly your disciples...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If
ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this [which is done] to
the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed,
and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

Mark 11:13,14,19-22
13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he
might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but
leaves; for the time of figs was not [yet].
14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter
for ever. And his disciples heard [it].
19 And when even was come, he went out of the city.
20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up
from the roots.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the
fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Mark 16:17-18
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they
cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it
shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall
recover.

Spiritual Junk food

1 Timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless {hyped} genealogies,
which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: [so
do].

Junk food is very tempting and people know the more they have of it, the
unhealthier they will be. Junk food is not taboo but should be controlled.

In today’s message Paul equates mythology to junk food. Mythology is always
very attractive and study of mythological religions can be very enjoyable.

When I started to study Hinduism I thought it would be a very complex and
difficult thing. I could not understand where to start from and how to go
about with it. But as I approached it rationally I saw like all
mythological religions it too was a creation of writers and poets. Studying
mythology in deep is like studying what and why the characters in the story
did or did not do. Can any person put reason to such facts knowing they
depended on the mindset of the writer or writers?

Can a parent say to a child do not eat junk food when they themselves know
nothing about it leave alone tasted it? Children will always question their
parents and may not abide to their instructions if they are not satisfied
by their answers.

Apologetics is a very good branch of theological study. It is very helpful
to Evangelists and Teachers of the Bible to present the Truth. But the
interesting fact is one hardly sees any Apologist strong in faith, they are
as strong in faith as a weed of grass and one of the main factors of this
is junk food. Most Apologist get into too much consumption of junk food,
while they have very little or totally ignore spiritual healthy food.

Spiritual junk food can shake even the strongest person, we have an example
of C S Lewis who was so much attracted to Hinduism that he made a comment
he would have accepted Hinduism had he not become a Christian.

Let us be cautious of what we input into us and discern everything not
ignoring its potential to harm even if it looks harmless.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God and your Wisdom is beyond measure. Lord we pray
we grow spiritually by discerning everything we input into us through our 5
natural senses. We pray we avoid living on junk food and consume more of
solid spiritual meat...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Timothy 1:3-4
3 As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus that you
may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine,
4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote
speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:
for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what
communion hath light with darkness?

Is God the God of the poor?

2 Corinthians 9:9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath
given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.

The Greek word ‘hairesis’ translated as ‘heresy’ occurs only four times in
the NKJV English translation although it actually occurs nine times and is
translated as ‘sect’ in other verses. Christians use it as a curse word
against another whose teachings they do not adhere to. People are branded
as ‘heretic’ and excommunicated.

What is interesting is I am yet to find a Christian preacher or teacher in
whose teaching I have not found heresy, in fact all of us carry some amount
of heresy!

If we go by it true meaning all denomination can be called heretics. The
word means ‘to choose’ of make a personal choice which is not in line with
the actual. Biblically the term is used to identify someone who twists the
truth (deliberately or without knowledge). There are very few deliberate
heretics but almost all fall in the innocent heretic category. Some of the
common heretic understanding most Christians believe is in ‘Once Saved
Always saved’, ‘Salvation without works (of faith – not righteousness),
‘Baptism of the Holy Spirit is unnecessary to go to Heaven’, ‘Spirit gifts
is passé’, ‘infant baptism’, ‘penance’...

Today’s message touches on one such heretic understanding which is ‘a
blessed person is one whom God blesses with worldly riches / God blesses
with worldly riches when His favor is on us’.

I have personally seem numerous people get spiritually destroyed when they
gain worldly riches. They may be ‘generous’ givers to Churches or the poor
but then the concept of robbing a bank and giving a share to the poor in
other words being Robin hood is not Christian. Even a person who honestly
earns but lives a life just to earn fails as a Christian.

Jesus warned not only once put repeatedly about the danger of being rich
and loosing salvation. He did not say all the rich will not enter Heaven
but said it was hardly possible for a rich to enter Heaven. A simple fact
is as spiritual children we tithe but as we mature in Spirit we give not
just ten percent but as to what the Holy Spirit leads us. God for whom
nothing is impossible initiated the concept of ‘Tithe and Giving’ more for
the giver and not for the receiver. It helps a person to overcome an
important area.

People misquote 2 Corinthians 8:9 without confirming facts. Nowhere does it
say Jesus was loaded with riches and thus became poor. Also Heaven is not a
place where beings use money or gold and silver in fact it is a spiritual
place; the description of precious metal and gems is only symbolic. The
scripture speaks of spiritual riches, about God the Son forsaking His
glory, humbling Himself and becoming man so that we would be transformed
and be partakers of His glory.

Let us not twist the truth / understanding of scriptures so as to feed our
carnal nature or out of fear not being able to face the truth. It is only
when we follow the truth, we are set free.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God, the Heavens are your abode. You are seated in
the High and our creation is your footstool. You Lord have bent down so as
to lift man that he may be partaker of your glory in Heaven. Lord we pray
we understand the dangers of greed the vice which caused Lucifer the highly

and learn to give...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Self-realization

1 Timothy 1:15,16 This [is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all
acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom
I am chief [first]. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me
first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to
them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

In today’s message we see Paul in a self-realization mode and thus calling
himself the first amongst sinners.

To convict oneself and feel guilty are two different things and together
form self-realization. Conviction means to pass judgment, while guilt means
to stop defending oneself.

Self-realization comes in two steps one is guilt and two is conviction.
Unless we do not stop defending or justifying our actions we will not be
able to accept we are sinners and not worthy of the Kingdom of God and
convict ourselves like Paul does in today’s message. Paul does not stop at
self-realization but pursues change thus confesses mercy, endurance [long
suffering] and then unto salvation.

Paul confesses that even after his coming in Christ he still continued
making mistakes and doing things even though he did not want to. Paul
overcoming his weakness took time and his letter to Timothy is one of his
latter letters while in Rome.

Like Paul we may be battling weakness even when we are ministering but like
Paul we should not give into the weakness but battle it. It is only when we
persistently battle our weakness that we too will overcome like Paul.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Holy God. You Lord desire your children to pursue to be like
You so that they can mature in Spirit and be heirs to your Kingdom. Lord we
pray we self-realize like Paul and fight this good battle like Paul did so
that we too one day can be confident like him to be wearers of the high
crown...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 7:14-20
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but
what I hate, that do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that [it
is] good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:
for to will is present with me; but [how] to perform that which is good I
find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not,
that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that
dwelleth in me.

Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling
of God in Christ Jesus.

Let no man despise thy youth

1 Timothy 4:11, 12 These things command and teach. Let no man despise thy
youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation,
in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Today’s message is an important instruction by Paul. In today’s message the
Greek word translated as ‘despise’ speaks of having low understanding or to
think little. The scripture does not talk of the young in age, it does not
talk of thinking little of the youth. The scripture talks of our youth
irrespective of our ages; it speaks to the teens, young men and women and
also the aged for it says our youth in sense of spiritual.

Spiritual maturity is unrelated to natural maturity. One can be 12 years
old yet be highly mature spiritually, like the maturity Jesus showed in the
temple [although He went every year it took time for Him to externally
exert His spiritual maturity] where the learned elders were amazed to see.
Like we can be young and spiritually mature, we can also be aged and yet
spiritual toddlers.

The most important aspect of spiritual maturity is discernment. Discernment
is like natural teeth, it helps a person to eat solid food and more
nourishing food. Infants do not get a full set of whole teeth instantly,
even before the teeth are seen they start to bite or nib at solids,
spiritually we too need to do that.

Spiritual maturity is not just internal hidden thing, it is visible in our
mannerism, our behavior. What we do, how / what we speak, how we relate
unto others, what is our focus, how we dress and move are few things that
project our spiritual maturity.

Concerning our spirit-man or inner-man it has two areas of discernment, one
connected to our natural body and other to our spirit being. The natural
discernment connects to our senses like taste, sight, touch, hearing and
smell, these allow us to operate in the natural. With regards to our
spiritual side it is the Fruits and Gifts of the Spirit that pay the role
of operating the spirit. Like prophecy which is a spiritual gift but yet
used in that natural so also are the others.

In today’s message Paul instructs us to be cautious of our external factors
and how we project ourselves. Let us discern things not only in spirit but
also in the natural, let us use our spiritual and natural discernment so
that people do not think us to be spiritually immature.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Awesome God. You Lord are Spirit, You are Holy, Righteous and
True. We who are your children can claim to be so only if we project You
spiritual. Lord we pray we understand the importance of our worldly conduct
and how we relate unto others. May we not put your Name down by claiming to
be your children and behaving otherwise...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Luke 2:41-42, 46-48
41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the
passover.
42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the
custom of the feast.
46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the
temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking
them questions.
47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers..
48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him,
Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought
thee sorrowing.

1 Corinthians 3:1-2
1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto
carnal, [even] as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not
able [to bear it], neither yet now are ye able.

Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age,
[even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern
both good and evil.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in
heaven is perfect.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 12 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Post  Admin Fri 30 Nov 2018, 11:54 pm

He still does it.

Romans 9:18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will [have mercy], and whom
he will he hardeneth.

We read God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, that means God’s
nature does not change.

In the OT we read of the way the Lord handled people, especially His own,
He protected them from their enemies and destroyed their enemies. But when
His people when astray and did things like worshipping other Gods or doing
grave evil in His sight then the protector became the confronter and
punisher. The Israelites suffered more in the hand of the Lord than in the
hands of their enemies.

We also see not just the Israelites but many who were connected to them say
by relationship or acquaintances also saw the grace of God (received His
mercy) for example the father in Law of Moses, Ruth who was a Moabite...

The translation in today’s message has the two verbs ‘hath mercy’ and
‘harden’ in present active tense, so means the Lord is the same today and
even today He has mercy on whom He wills and hardens whom He wills.

This means we are like the Israelites of the OT and we need not worry or
fear our worldly enemies so much as we need to fear the Lord. Yes we need
to fear the Lord when we go astray from Him. We know He loves us extremely
but then His love will not let Him see us destroying ourselves and others
connected with us. He may even need to at times be the one to destroy us so
that we do not destroy those connected with us, like He did to the first
lot of Israelites that left Egypt and perished in the desert but their next
generation saw the grace and favor of God.

Yesterday our Church cell groups met to plan how to make use of this period
wherein we get to let people know the Lord; as we were praying and planning
the Lord gave a message Matthew 21:12-13 where He enters the temple and
overturns the tables and frees the birds and animals sold there for
sacrifices. He also drives away people who were doing this. These people
were simply making available animals and birds for sacrifice as required by
Jewish traditions. They did something religious yet Christ was upset with
them for they did without understanding. The Lord was telling not to use
His name and do things which are worldly. Let us not feast in our carnal
desires that too taking the Lord’s name.

Let us not think the love of God will cause Him to be a silent spectator,
He is the same God of the OT.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You are God who does not change. Even though You
grow from glory to glory yet You are the same forever. Lord we pray we do
not take your love and grace for granted. Let the fear of You cause us to
think what we do and why we do it. Let us not do the things of the flesh
taking your name and bring You to anger...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Exodus 32:9-14
9 And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it
[is] a stiffnecked people:
10 Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and
that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.
11 And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath
wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land
of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he
bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the
face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil
against thy people.
13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest
by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the
stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto
your seed, and they shall inherit [it] for ever.
14 And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his
people.

Exodus 34:6-7
6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD
God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and
truth,
7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and
sin, and that will by no means clear [the guilty]; visiting the iniquity of
the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the
third and to the fourth [generation].

Deuteronomy 1:34-39
34 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware,
saying,
35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see
that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,
36 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I
give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he
hath wholly followed the LORD.
37 Also the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt
not go in thither.
38 [But] Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in
thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
39 Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your
children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they
shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess
it.

Son dwells in the Father and Father dwells in the Son

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in
me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father
that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

This verse has been interpreted by most theologians as Father and Son
having a very close relationship with each other. The Greek word ‘en’
translated as ‘in’ is also translated in English as ‘by’ and ‘with’. So if
we go the first part of the scripture we could be satisfied with the
relative theory. But sadly for these theologians Jesus did not stop there,
He goes on to said that ‘the Father dwelleth in me and He does the works’.

The word translated as dwelleth in this scripture is the Greek verb ‘memo’.
I have listed below all the Greek verbs of dwell (there are 11 of them used
in NT) with their explanations and references where they are used.

1. Oikeo - "to inhabit as one's abode" (from oikos, "a house"). 1 Tim 6:16;
1 Cor 3:16;
2. Katoikeo - kata, "down," and oikeo, "to settle down in a dwelling, to
dwell fixedly in a place". Col 1:19; Col 2:9; Eph 3:17;
3. Katoikizo - "to cause to dwell". James 4:5;
4. Enoikeo - "to dwell in" (en, "in," and oikeo), is used, with a spiritual
significance only. 2 Cor 6:16; Rom 8:11; 2 Tim 1:14;
5. Perioikeo - peri, "around," and oikeo, "to dwell around, be a neighbor".
Luke 1:65;
6. Sunoikeo - sun, "with," and oikeo, "to dwell with". 1 Pet 3:7;
7. Enkatoikeo - en, "in," and katoikeo, "to dwell among". 2 Pet 2:8;
8. Meno - "to abide, remain". John 1:38,39; John 6:56; John 14:10,17; Acts
28:16
9. Skenoo - "to pitch a tent" (skene), "to tabernacle". John 1:14; Rev
7:15; Rev 12:12;
10. Kataskenoo - "to pitch one's tent" (kata, "down," skene, "a tent"), is
also translated "lodge". Matt 13:32; Mark 4:32; Luke 13:19;
11. Embateuo - "to step in, or on" (from embaino, "to enter"), hence "to
frequent, dwell in," alternatively, "to invade, to enter on".. Col 2:18;

Meno – Remain, "to stay, abide," is frequently rendered "to remain," e.g.,
Matt 11:23; Luke 10:7; John 1:33, AV (RV, "abiding"); John 9:41 (in John
15:11, the best texts have the verb to be, see RV); John 15:16, AV (RV,
"abide"); John 19:31; Acts 5:4 (twice), RV, "whiles it remained, did it
(not) remain (thine own)?;" Acts 27:41; 1 Cor 7:11; 1 Cor 15:6; 2 Cor
3:11,14; 2 Cor 9:9, AV (RV, "abideth"); Heb 12:27; 1 John 3:9.

The Greek verb meno used in today’s message actually speaks of the Son
abiding or remaining in the Father, and the Father in the Son.

So when Jesus said He and the Father are one it did not mean just having
something common it literally speaks of indwelling, one within another.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God, there is only one God and You alone are. Lord we pray we
understand You better and thus understand the plans You have for us. We
pray Lord we be united spiritually as You are one. We pray we understand
what it means to be one body...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[oikeo] in me.

Godhead bodily.

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell [katoikeo] upon the earth shall worship
him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from
the foundation of the world.

Luke 21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face
of the whole earth.

need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth
[meno] the love of God in him?

brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in
thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained [meno] until this day.

Luke 10:7 And in the same house remain [meno], eating and drinking such
things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from
house to house.

John 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water,
the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and
remaining [meno] on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy
Spirit.

John 9:41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin:
but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth [meno].

John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you,
that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain
[meno]: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give
it you.

Acts 27:41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship
aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained [meno] unmoveable, but
the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

bodies should not remain [meno] upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for
that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be
broken, and that they might be taken away.

and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit
which he hath given us.

Fear not the enemy

Philippians 1:28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to
them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of
God.

These days if one needs to cause fear to come on any Christian all they
need to talk of is End Days.

The Bible time and again tells us not to fear, it tells us to not fear
Satan (evil spirits) or even our human enemy. The only fear we as
Christians need to have is of God, of His wrath that is if we are in sin.

As children we are made to think of God having two faces, one face of a
loving father who is extremely good to those who are good, those who listen
to Him and second face of a very angry God who throws people into fire if
they do not acknowledge Him. God is not like that.

Yes God does punish but not those who do not acknowledge Him but those who
do and yet do not abide in Him. Even after knowing of His love,
experiencing His mercy, His grace and His sacrifice, yet they choose to
feed on their carnal desires and worldly things are the one who experience
His wrath, it is to these people Paul said work your salvation with fear
and trembling. Those who do not acknowledge Him, it is their own sins that
punish them.

As pertaining to Satan or evil spirits those who are with us have no power
over us when we are in Christ, in fact they fear us, for Christ gave us
authority to chase / cast them away. We do not fear them for Bible says
they were marked after the floods, which means their powers are taken away.
They only have powers when man submits to them or their ways, they feed on
man to destroy man.

Being in Christ does not mean just believing in Christ. Being in Christ
means submitting to Christ and His Nature. It is only when we follow Christ
we have authority in Him. We may not be perfect but if we make all the
efforts to remain in Him that is sufficient for us to chase away evil
spirits.

Bible says our adversary ROARS LIKE A LION BUT IS NOT A LION. He can only
harm us, if we allow him to. If we flee temptation he flees from us.
Temptation is a fishing rod by which he traps us so as to ultimately
destroy us. Temptation may exist but let us not bite the bait, let us
distant ourselves from it.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. Your Name is above all names. You alone are Holy
and there is none like You. Lord we pray we understand holiness,
righteousness and truth. It is these Fruits when we pursue we are called
your children. To have these Fruits we need to grow in the nine Fruits of
the Spirit. Lord we pray we fear only You and none other than You for life
and death is in your hands...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to
kill the soul: but rather fear him [not Satan but God] which is able to
destroy both soul and body in hell.

Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure
to give you the kingdom.

Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear;
but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power,
and of love, and of a sound mind.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:
because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Revelation 15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for
[thou] only [art] holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee;
for thy judgments are made manifest.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 12 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Mind yourself

Romans 12:16 [Be] of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high
things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own
conceits.

Yesterday a sister shared how a foolish Pastor caused a person to
spiritually fall. She was sharing about her father who was a staunch
Catholic but after long efforts he was convinced to take water baptism so
he did. The Pastor like a fool after 2 week lands at their place and speaks
all the worldly ill against the Catholic Church and this infuriated him so
much that he swore to never again allow any Believer prayer meeting in his
house. Instead of building a newly born baby in the Lord with spiritual
milk the Pastor tried to feed garbage.

If we go into the Greek words of today’s message the word translated as
‘same’ means ‘himself’ or ‘herself’ so does not talk of being of one mind
since each one’s understanding is different. It simple says to be honest to
oneself. It says be what you are and do not try to show oneself as being
over smart. If one does not know something simply say ‘I do not know’, do
not try to attempt to answer something that you are not aware of.

The second part of the verse tells us when we relate to a person we should
according to that person’s understanding, it is foolishness to talk to a
person more than what the person can understand.

The Greek word ‘phroneo’ translated as mind comes from the root word
‘phren’ which refers to the heart. So it does not only refer just to
understanding but also the person’s emotions and faith. Let us not try to
show our smartness to people and throw garbage at them, even if it is high
level knowledge yet for a person with low understanding, sensitive and low
in faith, it is pure garbage.

Today’s message simply tell us let us edify people and not showoff what we
know or have.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Awesome God. You are Almighty, your Wisdom is beyond measure
and there is nothing that You do not know. You Lord we patient with us and
slowly reveal the truth so that we are build strong. Lord we pray we learn
to be patient with others as You are with us...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that
is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think;
but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure
of faith.

Romans 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for
peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

1 Corinthians 10:23-24
23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all
things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s.

Not knowing the Lord

Romans 10:18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went
into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

Christianity is about following Christ and Christianity came into existence
after death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Bible says all those who reject the Lord go to Hell. One questions that was
on my mind before I understood the Kingdom of God. Did people before the
coming of the Son of God as man Jesus get to be saved from Hell? If a
person did not know the Lord then how can the person accept the Lord? In
the Old Testament what happened to the Patriarchs, did they go to Heaven?
If we read Acts we find Peter says David did not ascend to Heaven.

In my cross reference study of every death in the Bible I found those who
had the favor of God on them or did no evil or did not inherit evil (cases
where a just born infant dies), when they died it is written ‘they were
gathered unto their fathers / people’ in OT or ‘slept’ in NT. But those who
rejected the Lord when they died it is simply written they ‘died’.

Paul says creation is made in an image, so even if a man lives in isolation
all his life yet he knows the existence of God his Creator and tries to
seek Him. It is according to his heart state he makes himself a god or has
the privilege to know the true God.

Today morning I saw a picture of LGBTQ people carrying a multicolor banner
with ‘Satan’ and a heart stating ‘Satan loves’!

Bible says they worship creation instead of the creator for they knowing
Him yet did not glorify Him so God has given them to perverseness and in
this perverseness they do these things. Bible also says those who are
atheist fool themselves to deny there is no God.

No man can from any part of the world, born any time in history on even now
can ever claim they did not know the existence of God. So on one can tell
the Lord that he or she did not know about His Kingdom. This goes not only
not for those who rejected Him and go to Hell where they suffer their sins;
even those who believe in Him and reject His Will / Word cannot stand
before Him and ask why he or she is standing with the goats on Judgment Day
and not with the sheep.

The Lord is telling us let us not try to think we can fool the Lord on
Judgment Day saying we did not know. Let us act, demonstrating that we
believe in Him and follow Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty, Omnipotent and Omnipresent God. You Lord created all
things with a design and they speak about your Kingdom [His kind] and the
kingdom of darkness [their kind], You give man the choice to choose between
light and darkness. We pray that we who believe and do not follow, do not
be fools to think we can justify our disobedience before You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith
himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Genesis 1:12,21,24,25
12 And the earth brought forth grass, [and] herb yielding seed after his
kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed [was] in itself, after his
kind: and God saw that [it was] good.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth,
which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every
winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his
kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind:
and it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after
their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind:
and God saw that [it was] good.

Romans 1:20-25
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are
clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his
eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God,
neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their
foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like
to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping
things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of
their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are
corrupt, they have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good.

Genesis 25:8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age,
an old man, and full [of years]; and was gathered to his people.

Genesis 25:17 And these [are] the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred
and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was
gathered unto his people.

Genesis 35:29 And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto
his people, [being] old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob
buried him.

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at
nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of
Christ.

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God;
and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book]
of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in
the books, according to their works.

Physical and Spiritual harmony

Luke 4:2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did
eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

The Greek word translated in KJV as Being is the word ‘peirazo’ and
actually means ‘to be tried’ and is the same word is translated as
‘tempted’ after the words ‘forty days’. If we see the manuscripts there is
no 2 words but just one word and its interlinear translation would be as
given
Luke 4:2 day forty, tempted by the accuser (devil). And He ate nothing
during those days; and when they had ended, He became hungry.

Jesus’ temptation was not during the 39days of fasting (without food and
water) but only on the 40th day of fasting, when He was weaken in body and
in spirit, it was then that the accuser put Him to test.

One of the biggest blunders people make is think Biblical fasting means
refraining from food. Bible tells us to fast but not the fast which the
Jews did or which the Muslims and other religions practice. We as
Christians need to understand the relationship of our body with our
spiritual being. As we treat our bodies so also it will affect our
spiritual being. We need to keep our physical body healthy; that does not
mean we need to be muscular, but just be fit. We need to discern what we
eat and what we drink.

Fasting is about refraining the carnal food to our bodies (both physical
and spiritual). That means we can eat very simple food like Daniel did for
a period and do a powerful fasting that caused the Lord to hear Him and
speak to him. We need to first identify the area of our fasting and fast in
that area to make our fasting effective.

Jesus was a man of authority and very strong in Spirit. In normal
conditions Satan (the accuser) would not have dared to test Him, it was
only when He was led by the Holy Spirit to be broken down after 40 days of
fasting without food and water that Satan would attempt to test Him.

Like I said before Jesus was led to do this for 2 reasons that Jesus as man
would go through the same tests by Satan which Adam and Eve failed and
sinned, the other reason of fasting was that Jesus would qualify to become
a formal Rabi as per the order of Moses so as to be able to preach in
Jewish Synagogues (which He started soon after His 40 days fasting).

Let us not follow Jewish and Catholic practices of merging penance into
spiritual building. Let us not break our spiritual strength but build it by
our fastings. Let us be led by the Spirit on how we need to fast and what
we need to refrain from. Let it not be token for a day or two but as per
the Lord leads.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Awesome God. You are a loving Father. You God are not pleased
by seeing your people suffer but like to see them always strong
spiritually. Lord we pray we do not be deceived to follow traditions of
man. Let each of us understand how to fast and know the area of our
fasting...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Daniel 10:3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my
mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were
fulfilled.

Jeremiah 14:12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they
offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will
consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

Zechariah 7:5 Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests,
saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh [month], even
those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, [even] to me?

Matthew 9:15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the
bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days
will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall
they fast.

Natural and Spiritual

James 2:15,16 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily
food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be [ye] warmed and
filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to
the body; what [doth it] profit?

Faith can do many things and a person of little faith but does not doubt
can move mountains, we know this is true for Jesus said it. Some of us may
have experienced times where by faith we have seen awesome miracles, but do
we see these always? No. It is not that faith works at time and does not
work at times, faith always works but the problem is our faith is not
perfect. Doubts destroy faith and we always doubt.

We as Christians are not called to bridge our beliefs with worldly
understandings but are called to live a balanced practical life along with
spiritual life unless the Holy Spirit guides us to. Let me explain with a
testimony I heard.

There was a preacher who prayed and healed many, and once prayed over a
person who wore spectacles and the person could see perfectly. He himself
wore spectacles so wondered why he could not see without them himself. So
one day he prayed over himself and then in faith started to walk around
without spectacles. He started to dash into objects every now and then
until situation became dangerous. He asked the Lord why and the Lord told
him, He had not asked him to stop wearing the specs as He did for the other
person.

We need to be led by the Spirit to know when to acting on faith [when our
faith is perfect] and when to use wisdom and the ability the Lord has given
us in the natural.

Today’s message tells us when someone comes to us with their natural needs,
we should pray for them but then should also do things in that natural
until they have received that we prayed for. So when a hungry, thirsty,
naked, homeless, sick brethren comes we should pray for God to provide them
like He does for us, and until this happens we should know how to share
that which we have.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You created all things. You did not do this in one
‘day’ [period] but did it step by step. In the natural You created man on
the sixth ‘day’ and not on the first ‘day’. Lord we pray we learn to walk
in perfect faith but until then we learn to walk in your timing. We pray to
understand ‘days’ and act accordingly...

Mark 8:22-25
22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and
besought him to touch him.
23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and
when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if
he saw ought.
24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
25 After that he put [his] hands again upon his eyes, and made him look
up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

John 8:1,6-7
1 And as [Jesus] passed by, he saw a man which was blind from [his] birth.
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the
spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by
interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came
seeing.

Christ’ Word Father’s Word

John 14:24,25 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word
which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. These things
have I spoken unto you, being [yet] present with you.

Some day’s back there was a debate between the topic Oneness and Trinity.
The Oneness group believes Jesus is also the Holy Spirit and the Father,
while the Trinity group believes in 3 distinct deities but being one (in
nature). The Oneness group could not answer many of the scriptures like
Elohim was plural not singular nor scriptures where the Lord spoke to the
Lord. They tried lots of twisting and manipulations but failed miserably.
On the other hand the Trinity group did well is most places but then failed
at one place where at the end it speaks of one God and one Throne and not
thrones. Trinity group could not also answer the hierarchy between the
Father and the Son if they were one. At the end what could be concluded was
there was oneness but the oneness was not in the man Jesus but something
more than just common nature and was after Judgment Day.

Understanding the relationship between the God the Father and God the Son,
God the Son, His Spirit and the man Jesus is not easy. One cannot take one
scripture or two scriptures and conclude their relationship. When Jesus had
to explain who He was it is written He explained scriptures from across the
OT. That means one needs to understand the whole Bible to understand the
relationship between them. When knowledgeable people ask me on this topic I
normally put it aside for half information would either confuse them or
make them think I am a heretic. I need to literally undo their
understanding to give them the right understanding.

The Catholic Church did try many manipulations to push their understanding
and one of them was by adding the scriptures 1 John 5:7-8 (added in
500-1000AD and missing in older manuscripts) which speaks of 3 distinct
individuals in Heaven while other scriptures speak of only one.

In today’s message Jesus says His sayings are not His sayings but sayings
of the Father. So someone who keeps His sayings keeps the sayings of the
Father. Here He distinguishes Himself from the Father but in John 10:30
says He and the Father are one. Jesus also says in John 17:12 says He kept
the people in the name, the name of the Father given to Him (many
translations have mistranslated as not the name given to Him but the people
given to Him). We also see the title of ‘Everlasting Father’ and ‘Mighty
God’ is given to Jesus Christ in Isaiah 9:6. Scriptures state it is the
Lord Jesus Christ who created all things and it is for Him that all things
are created for Jesus claimed Isaiah 42:5-7 as written about Him in Luke
4:17-21 and Paul in Ephesians 3:9 reaffirms it.

It is high time we let not this mystery being a mystery but understand it,
for Jesus said the ability is given to God’s people to understand mysteries
of His Kingdom but not to those who are not His.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You alone are God and there is none like You, yet your Word speaks of
the Father, Son and Spirit. Lord we pray You give wisdom to your people to
understand the oneness and yet the distinct individuality between the
Father and Son, between the Son, His Spirit and man Jesus. We pray your
people who are children of light not walk in darkness...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 13:16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than
his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

hast given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the
son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

John 17: 12 [KJV] While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy
name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but
the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them

therein:
6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand,
and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light
of the Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison,
[and] them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Luke 4:17-22
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And
when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to
preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the
blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave [it] again to the minister, and sat
down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on
him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in
your ears.
22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which
proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph’s son?

Ephesians 3:9 And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the
mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who
created all things by Jesus Christ:

Matthew 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you
to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given..

Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Symbolism of bones

John 19:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be
fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

In my initial days of Bible study before I could understand Bible symbolism
I always wondered if Jesus was bruised for us to that extend that his bones
were visible and He was not recognizable even as a human being then why
were His bones protected? I understood it was to do with the Paschal Lamb
where the Lord commanded its bones would not be broken, but then the
question was, why the bones when its live was not?

There are many scriptures which are bones related, like Eve was made from
the bone of Adam, Jeremiah said there was a fire in his bones thus he was
unstoppable, God told Ezekiel in a vision to prophecy over the bones of
dead Israel and they came to life.

If we study the anatomy of man we find man or even other animals get their
shape from their skeleton or bone structure. Beings without bones or its
substitute frame, are shapeless. In the natural the bone give shape to our
being the same way as our character or nature gives shape to our spiritual
being. We are called a beautiful spiritually only when our nature is
beautiful, we are strong spiritually only if our nature is strong, it is
not our knowledge that makes us strong spiritually but our nature does.

The nature of Jesus was the manifestation of the nature of God and thus was
impeccable, it is what God is identified with, thus is the Name of the
Lord. When the Lord was asked His Name by Moses, He said He is who He is [I
AM THAT I AM] so pointed to His nature and His existence. God alone is
eternal / unchanging for He is perfect in nature, His glory increases time
to time but His nature remains the same. Lifting His Name up means to lift
His nature, declaring who He is.

Bible says life is in the blood and blood cells are created by our bone
marrow which symbolizes our spirit for our natural life comes from our
spirit. The Word of God is symbolized as a double edged sword that works in
the joints of the bone effecting the bone and the marrow. So the Word of
God does not only change our nature but also changes us in spirit.

The Lord is telling us today when we pray for each other let us not forget
to pray for the bones of that person, not more his or her natural bones but
his or her character / nature.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and nothing is hidden from You. You Lord knew us before we
were even conceived in the womb of our mothers and You know what we will
become at the end thus You have written our names in the Book of Life. Even
though each one of us is unique in nature let together as one body we
radiate You. Lord we pray we understand our weakness and strength so that
we work towards stronger bones...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Numbers 9:12 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any
bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep
it.

Genesis 2:23 And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of
my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Jeremiah 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any
more in his name. But [his word] was in mine heart as a burning fire shut
up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not [stay].

Ezekiel 37:4-6
4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O
ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.
5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to
enter into you, and ye shall live:
6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and
cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall
know that I [am] the LORD.

Exodus 3:13-14
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, [when] I come unto the children of
Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto
you; and they shall say to me, What [is] his name? what shall I say unto
them?
14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou
say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Malachi 3:6 For I, Jehovah, change not; therefore ye, O sons of Jacob, are
not consumed.

Job 21:24 His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with
marrow.

Proverbs 3:8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper
than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and
spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts
and intents of the heart.

Appearing of His Kindness and Love

Titus 3: 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward
man appeared,

Today’s message talks of us receiving the kindness and love of God our
Saviour. If we read the verse before today’s message it says we were
foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers(e) lusts and pleasures,
living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

The describing and its order is very important to understand why we are
once children of wrath until the appearance of the Lord’s kindness and
love. I will expound on the words.

Foolish - lacking knowledge, wisdom and understanding / intelligence
Disobedient - not pursuable / not willing to listen
Deceived - led astray
Serving divers(e) lusts and pleasures - bondmen to various desires and
pleasures
Living in malice - living a wickedness that is not ashamed to break laws
and in corruption
Hateful, hating one another - detestable, detesting one another

The word kindness can be correctly understood as moral goodness.
Love as said last time actually means charity - goodness given selflessly
to edify another.

Today’s message talks of us receiving from Christ moral goodness, goodness
given selflessly to edify us. This we receive through the renewal of His
Holy Spirit, who was given to us abundantly (meaning we gradually keep
receiving Him, more and more) so that we are born anew in spirit so as to
become heirs of eternal life.

Being born-again or born anew is spirit does not mean being a better person
but literately means being another person. It is due to this Jesus said
unless we do not die (to ourselves) we cannot have life (eternal life).

Today’s message gives us a clue as to measure ourselves as see if we are
truly born-again or born anew and for this we need to negate the negative
values we had before. That means we need to check the following:-

Are we filled with knowledge, wisdom and understanding / intelligence?
Are we obedient - pursuable / willing to listen?
Do we know where we are headed - not led astray?
Are we people who have control over various desires and pleasures and not
bondmen to them? Can we say no to worldly desire and pleasures?
Do we have the fear of God so as to not break God’s Commandments and live
in corruption?
Do we love one another, not just in words but by selflessly serving one
another so as to edify?

If we can answer all these questions with a 100% Yes then we are fully
born-again. Most of the areas we would be lacking to say a 100% Yes but
even if we are growing in them it is good, but we should be watchful and
put all the efforts to let the Holy Spirit work in us and treat those areas
where we are low.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty, Merciful and Loving God. You Lord loved us even when
we disobeyed You. You moved us out of your presence so that we do not
perish, but we get a chance to renew ourselves and be again restored to You
so as to inherit eternal life drinking of the River of Life / eating of the
Tree of Life that is in Heaven...

John 13:2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart
of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s [son], to betray him;

In the Bible we see in almost every case if a name is given, some reference
of that person exist somewhere. Judas is referred as son of Simon. If we
look into NT scriptures there are at least 3 Simons mentioned (excluding
Jesus disciples which had 2 Simons - Simon Peter and Simon the Canaanite),
they were Simon the Pharisee, Simon the leper and Simon the tanner. The
word Iscariot has an Aramaic origin and means ‘man of the city’.

We read Simon the Leper was from Bethany and after the incident in his
house we find Judas goes to meet the High Priest there to make the deal of
betraying Jesus for money, showing he was familiar with the High Priest
there. Lazarus and his sisters Mary and Anne were also from Bethany. It was
Mary the sister of Lazarus who washed the feet of Jesus with a pound of
spikenard (a very expensive ointment) at Simon the Leper’s house, after
Jesus bought Lazarus back to life, indicating Lazarus’s family was well to
do. Surely Jesus visiting and staying with Simon the leper would not have
left Simon unhealed of his leprosy. If Judas was his son then it would show
the true hardness of the heart of Judas.

Initially Judas was truly a disciple of Jesus, he believed in Him and
followed Him everywhere. When Jesus sent the seventy out without water,
food or money and they returned with great testimonies of healing and
deliverances, Judas was amongst them.

Although Judas was a good disciple, he became the betrayer because of his
greed for riches. Judas’ greed was so much that he would rob Jesus and
disciple for he took from the money bag which had money given by people to
support Jesus’ ministry. Jesus was aware of his problem yet Jesus allowed
him to be the finance manager, taking charge of the money bag. One would
think why did Jesus not correct him and deprive him of access to the money
bag.

We need to understand it was already prophesied about his betrayal so
whatever Jesus would have done would not have changed him. Jesus goes to
the extent of telling him to quickly do what he planned when Satan took
full control of Judas. When Judas was a good disciple of Jesus, Satan
tempted him and kept his greed for riches burning very now and then. Satan
started working on Judas long back and gradually increased his control on
Judas.

We need to get it into us, even after we accept Jesus Christ we are not
free from the works of Satan. He works more amongst ‘Christians’ than those
outside. His main aim is to deprive God’s people from inheriting the
Kingdom of God. His greatest weapon is to get us to enjoy life. Satan wants
us to enjoy this world and loose our inheritance in Heaven, while God tells
us to live a sober life here and suffer if need be but be focused on our
inheritance and eternal life.

Grapes are a good example therefore Jesus says I am the grape vine. Grapes
grow best in places of less water and hot climate. The vine is hung and
does not stand on its own strength, it is very now and then stretched and
tied from all sides so that it spreads and bears abundant sweet grapes.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are Spirit and your Word says those who
overcome the flesh and are led in the spirit are the ones who will become
Sons of God and enter the Kingdom of God. Lord we pray we learn to control
and overcome the pleasures of this world and seek the pleasures of your
Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 10:4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed
him.

Acts 10:32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname
is Peter; he is lodged in the house of [one] Simon a tanner by the sea
side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

John 12:
1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus
was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of
them that sat at the table with him.
3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and
anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house
was filled with the odour of the ointment.
4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s [son], which
should betray him,
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the
poor?
6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a
thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she
kept this.
8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.
9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came
not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had
raised from the dead.

John 13:27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto
him, That thou doest, do quickly.

1 Thessalonians 5:6-10
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be
sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are
drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of
faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our
Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live
together with him.

Loving one another

John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have
loved you.

One of the most important aspects that identify a Christian from the rest
of the worldly people is Fruits of the Spirit. Bible says people of the
world are like grass (species) they flower, may look beautiful for a period
but at the end they perish (cut and burnt). But God’s people are like trees
that bear fruit and none of them are harmed. But then there is another flip
side to it and that is the fruit bearing plants are pruned, like vine
plants they are hung, stretched and tied at its ends so that they bear more
fruits.

Today’s message talks of one of the Fruits of the Holy Spirit and that is
love. Mankind seeks love and claims to love one another but before Christ
what they did as love was something else. One cannot love another without
knowing the truth and that is why the love of Christ is like a lighthouse
for us.

Love is the most misunderstood word and things like infatuation,
attraction, obsession, lust, desire etc. are also described as love. The
Greek word Agape in some translations is written as ‘charity’ which is a
more appropriate word. Preachers mistranslate it as ‘God kind love’ and
Agapo which is a conjugation of the word Agape as ‘man kind of love’.

Love is amongst the 9 Fruits mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23 while truth is
amongst the 3 mentioned in Ephesians. The 3 mentioned in Ephesians 5:9
Truth, Righteousness and Holiness are those Fruits of the Spirit which we
receive as gifts from the Holy Spirit, Son and Father.

Without truth love cannot be understood. It is only because truth (and
grace) came through Christ that we could understand true love and see the
love of God for us.

In today’s message Jesus tells His disciples to love one another as He
loves us. We as Christians are called to love another Christian as Christ
loves us; that means we should be ready to die for each other. As far as
people of the world, we are called to be kind to them showing the mercy of
God.

Christians who state they love their wives, husbands, children, parents
etc. ‘more than anyone in the world’ need to think if they are fulfilling
this Commandment. This Commandment fulfills all Commandments since we
cannot identify another Christian without Christ / Lord, so it Commandment
fulfills the first Commandment ‘love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
strength and understanding’, it also fulfils all other Commandments
likewise.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Holy God. In the Heavens they call out unto You ‘Holy, Holy,
Holy’. Because man is a corrupt being, he does not understand Holiness. It
is only because we receive truth through your Spirit that we could see and
acknowledge your love for us and that is why we call unto Love, Love, Love.
Lord we pray we grow in the Truth so that we have greater understanding of
the Fruit of Love...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
James 1:10-11
10 But the man of wealth, that he is made low; because like the flower of
the grass he will come to his end.
11 For when the sun comes up with its burning heat, the grass gets dry and
the grace of its form is gone with the falling flower; so the man of wealth
comes to nothing in his ways.

1 Peter 1:24 For it is said, All flesh is like grass, and all its glory
like the flower of the grass. The grass becomes dry and the flower dead:

John 3: 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.

Matthew 22:36-40
36 Master, which is the chief rule in the law?
37 And he said to him, Have love for the Lord your God with all your
heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
38 This is the first and greatest rule.
39 And a second like it is this, Have love for your neighbour as for
yourself.
40 On these two rules all the law and the prophets are based.

John 13:34-35
34 I give you a new law: Have love one for another; even as I have had
love for you, so are you to have love one for another.
35 By this it will be clear to all men that you are my disciples, if you
have love one for another.

John 15:17-21

1 John 4:7 My loved ones, let us have love for one another: because love
is of God, and everyone who has love is a child of God and has knowledge of
God.

1 John 4:16 And we have seen and had faith in the love which God has for
us. God is love, and everyone who has love is in God, and God is in him.

Abusing Church facilities

Romans 16: 23 Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you.
Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother.

Paul wrote the letter of Romans from Corinth. In today’s message Paul
mentions Gaius a Corinthian whom he baptized. Gaius as believed by Bible
commentators was an officer of Synagogue which had guest room/s adjacent to
it. If we read in the letter to Corinthians where Paul rebuked the
Christians there of eating, drinking and sleeping in the synagogue /
Church, he did not mean literal the meeting hall but of this adjacent guest
room/s.

We find similar problems today in our Churches where the facilities and
resources of the Churches are misused or abused by the congregation for
personal / private use. We also have on the other hand those who are in
charge of Church assets look only at things in commercial aspect. I am very
dishearten when I approach Churches to baptize people in their baptism pit
and they give me cost like taking a room in a 4 star / 5 star hotel. Looks
like they really do not have an idea of the value of someone wanting to be
baptized in Christ. Sad Church leaders play the numbers game like dirty
politicians do.

Let us understand the purpose of the Church and respect it. Let the
congregation not abuse it nor those in charge of it also do so. Let the
fear of God rein in their hearts.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Holy and Righteous God. You Lord paid the price for our sins
and your salvation is free unto man. Lord we pray those who are put in
charge of the resources know the purpose of the Church and do not look at
everything in a worldly commercial way. We also pray your people respect
the resources of the Church and misuse it...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Corinthians 1:14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus

Father whom He glorifies

Hebrew 5: 5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high
priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten
thee.

When a person falls in love with another person whom he or she does not
know it is not called love but called infatuation. Teens call it crush or
craze but a physiologist will term it obsession. To love a person one needs
to have some level of knowledge or acquaintance to that person. Love grows
as and when the persons come to know each other more. This is the same
concerning our relationship with God. To love Him, glorify Him, worship Him
we need to know Him. Without knowing God we lie when we say we love Him or
worship Him or glorify Him.

In our recent message we saw Jesus as man glorified the Holy Spirit.
Today’s message talks of Jesus as man becoming a High Priest for us.. If we
read verse 7 it clearly speaks of ‘the days of His flesh’.

God the Son humbled Himself in the beginning of creation and became Jesus
the Son of Man about 2000 years back to become an example for us. Verse 8
and 9 says He as man by His obedience was made His perfect so became the
author of eternal salvation. It also specifies eternal salvation only to
those who obey Him.

We know it was the Holy Spirit whom Jesus abided by and it was by the
working of the Holy Spirit during His days in the flesh who kept Him
without blemish and thus became the power that resurrected Him from Hell
(go Him to be set free from ‘the prison’ and thus rise to the upper
realms).

The Greek word ‘semeron’ translated as ‘today’ in Hebrew 5:5 is a compound
of two words ‘this’, ‘that’ or ‘which’ and the word ‘day’. Here we see it
does not talk of present day but of the day it happened so should actually
be ‘that day’, this same mistake in translation is made in Luke 23:43 and
instead of ‘that day’ it is translated as ‘this day’ or ‘today’ since Jesus
and the thief were speaking of the day He comes in glory (Jesus did not
ascend to Heaven that day but on the third day; that day He descended to
Hell).

Jesus said no being has seen the God the Father in Heaven other than the
Son. He also said if we know the Lord Jesus Christ who came from the Father
we will know the Father.

We as Christians should understand the difference between the man Jesus and
God the Son whom humbled and became the man Jesus. The former is our
Brother and the latter is our God and Creator.

We need to understand we Christians do not glorify or worship the man Jesus
but worship and glorify the Lord (God the Son) who became man. We lift up
and glorify the Name (not earthly name) of Jesus which He received from the
Father. When we say we glorify the Father it means both God the Father in
Heaven whom we know only through the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit
whom we receive through the Lord Jesus Christ.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Father and Creator. Bible says all things were created through
the Son for the Son. Holy Spirit, You Who are the author of the Word lift
the Name of the Son so that He as visible man may be the light or us to
follow and come to the knowledge of Him and thus come to the knowledge of
You and God the Father in Heaven. We pray lift the Name of Jesus and
through His Name know You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Hebrews 5:7-10
7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and
supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save
him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he
suffered;
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto
all them that obey him;
10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt
thou be with me in paradise.

John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended
to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my
Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

John 17:12 While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast
given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of
perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

Revelation 22:8-13

Matthew 4:9-10
9 and he said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt
fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written,
Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Celebration of Feasts

Acts 20:16 For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would
not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to
be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

In the OT we read of many feasts of which the Lord commands.

As per the Jews they have 7 feasts (this they relate to the seven sticks of
the candle-stand)
1. Shabbat -The Sabbath.
2. Rosh Chodesh - The New Month.
3. Rosh Hashanah - The Jewish New Year.
4. Tzom Gedalia - Fast of Gedalia.
5. Yom Kippur - Day of Atonement.
6. Sukkot - Feast of Booths (or Tabernacles)
7. Hanukkah - Festival of Lights.

Biblically for a Christian there are only 4 feasts because some of them
merged not only by tradition but also by purpose. All these are connected
to the Lord Jesus Christ, thus are eternal feasts.
1. The feast of PASSOVER (Leviticus 23:5)/ feast of UNLEAVENED BREAD
(Leviticus 23:6)
2. The feast of HARVEST / FIRST FRUITS / PENTECOST (Leviticus 23:11-17)
3. The feast of TRUMPETS (Leviticus 23:24)
4. The feast of ATONEMENT (Leviticus 23:27) / feast of TABERNACLES
(Leviticus 23:34)

Passover (5 days) merged with Unleavened Bread (week); the week of
Unleavened Bread was after the Passover but was celebrated together ever
since Babylon and Jesus Himself approved of it because He celebrated it
(Last Supper) before the Passover (His Crucifixion). In OT the sacrifice
was only after forgiveness but Christ by faith made the sacrifice before
thus by faith we are already reconciled.

The Feast of Harvest / Pentecost is when the Church received the Holy
Spirit.

The Feast of Trumpets is to do with coming again of Christ (Judgment Day).

The Feast of Atonement / Tabernacle / Booths is connected to the birth and
dedication of Christ.

In the book of Acts we find mention of only 2 i.e. Pentecost and Passover.
The other two seem to be not mentioned or not celebrated. We need to
understand feast were commanded to the ‘Children of Israel’ not meaning the
children of Jacob who was called Israel, but symbolizes those who are
little in spirit / not spiritually mature. Feast are a ‘statutes’ means
they are means and opportunities to teach and educate a person in ways of
the Lord.

The Apostles were openly against the Jewish celebration of feasts like
Sabbath, Rosh Chodesh, Rosh Hashanah (1st day of the seventh month -
believed by Jews to be the day the Lord completed creation since they think
the term day as month), Tzom Gedalia and Hanukkah for either they are not
Biblical or were misunderstood by them.

A couple of days back the Catholics celebrated the birth of Mary and link
this date to a mention in Apocrypha (hidden) book called the Gospel of
James. This book as dating was written in 150AD so the James was neither
the Apostle James nor the James the brother of Jesus.

We see after 100AD, especially after 300AD many books were written like
Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Judas and Gospel of Mary Magdalene which are
heretic works, inaccurate and fictions with purpose to form cults.

Let us do all things with understanding as per the Word of God.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord created this world so that man could be
transformed and lifted up. All things You did or do, were and are for that
purpose. Lord we pray we do not fall prey to vanity but do all things with
understanding...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Colossians 2:16-18
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of
an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and
worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen,
vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Leviticus 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them,
Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy
convocations, even these are my feasts.

Leviticus 23:44 And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts
of the LORD.

Avoid foolish debates

Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions,
and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

A major part of the Church avoids and even dislikes Apologetics for they
consider it as foolish and irritating arguments. I do not blame them fully
for thinking like this.

Christianity is a belief system that shuns rituals and traditions that do
not edify spiritually. Anything and everything it does should be to bear
fruit spiritually. It goes to the extent to state anything done without
understanding (faith) is sin. Jesus also said when we become His disciples
we will know the truth and it is the truth that sets us free. That means
something like blind faith clashes with Christianity. When we put this
picture of Christianity we see knowledge and understanding of the truth is
core to the belief and for that debating is necessary. Biblical debating
can lead to discussion or to argument. Discussions are good but all
arguments are not.

Today’s message gives us an example of topics which are best avoided. The
Greek word translated as foolish is not in sense of logic but comes from
the root word mystery, it speaks of mysticism. We as Christian should
expose falsehood / mythology from reality but discussing or entertaining
mysticism is best avoided.

The second example is given as genealogies. If we see the gospels of
Matthew and Luke record the genealogies of Jesus through Joseph and Mary
respectively so genealogies in historic sense is not something God is
against. We need to get into us the fact that when we die or someone in our
family dies the natural relation of the person with us ceases. After death
a person is nobody’s father, mother, husband, wife, sister, (natural)
brother, cousin etc. What we uphold is not our relationship but the
testimony of that person, we bless a good testimony. So discussions of
genealogy other than historic information or as a testimony, is advised
against.

The third point given is ‘strivings about the law’. In the NT the Jews kept
the Law of Moses but not the Law of the Lord. Even though it was the Lord
who gave the Law through Moses yet there is a difference between the Law of
Moses and Law of the Lord. Paul wrote ‘the letter kills but the spirit
gives life’, this is the difference between the Law of Moses and Law of the
Lord. Any Commandment done without understanding and fruitfulness is
considered sin.

When we debate, what is most important is the purpose of the debate. If the
purpose is not to enlighten, edify and build the person spiritually then
that debate is best avoidable. Peter wrote we need to be ready to answer
every man but of utmost importance he wrote is that the purpose of
answering should be to project with meekness and fear the hope in Christ
that is within us. Debating even in a gentle manner without the purpose
fulfilled, is also vanity.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Awesome God. Your Word says your plans for man have a purpose
which is to bring to fulfilment all that is written. Lord we pray we
understand the purpose is as important as the means is. We pray we not only
project You but also fulfil your purpose in all that we do...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth
not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new
testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth,
but the spirit giveth life.

Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is
that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is
not of men, but of God.

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always
to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is
in you with meekness and fear:

The Father who judgeth

John 8:50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and
judgeth.

The Jews (Israelites of the Kingdom of Judah-southern Israel) hated the
Samaritans (Israelites of the Kingdom of Israel-northern Israel) and due to
religious differences they considered all Samaritans to be demonic
possessed people. Jesus was resident of Galilee (resident of northern
Israel) so they thought He was a Samaritan and thus possessed. Jesus
responded back saying He did not have an evil spirit (devil) but the Father
whom He honors.

Jesus never sought His own honor or glory but the honor and glory of His
Father. What we need to understand is which Father He was referring to, God
the Father in Heaven or the Holy Spirit. If we see the next line and
today’s message, we get a clue to the answer.

The Greek word ‘esti’ translated as ‘there is’ is third person singular
present indicative of ‘I am’;

If we read John 5:26-27 we read God the Father who has eternal life in
Himself gave this ability to His Son alone to have life in Himself
(Heavenly beings enjoy eternal life through access to the Tree/River of
Life which is in Upper Heavens – eating/drinking of it at the end of their
life term). Jesus also says God the Father gave authority to God the Son to
sit in judgment because He became a Son of Man.

If may find John 5:27 and John 8:50 contradict each other if we do not
understand who the Father in John 8:50 is. In John 5:30 Jesus says although
He sits in Judgment He does not judge Himself but does as He hears and as
per the will of the Father (Word of God). So the Father He hears is not the
God the Father in Heaven but the Holy Spirit who is in Him.

We need to understand if God the Father judges us none would ever be
justified, so God the Father but Man to judge all mankind and since none
were qualified for it, God the Son humbled Himself and proved His
qualification by His sacrifice to sit in the Judgment Seat. Since He as man
would not be competent to Judge (He Himself says no man is perfect except
God) He has the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to help Him judge all
mankind.

God the Father in Heaven is called Father and also the Holy Spirit is
called Father. Jesus as man is called Son of Man, our Brother but in His
former self (glory) as God the Son is also called ‘Everlasting Father’
(Isaiah 9:6).

In John 8:49 Jesus said He did not have an evil spirit but had the Holy
Spirit. As Son of Man Jesus sought to honor and glorify the Spirit of God.

Bible says God the Father is Spirit and we know the Holy Spirit is the
Spirit that comes from the Father. Can a Spirit have a Spirit?

We need to understand God as per the role and glory He is in. It may seem
complex because of the knowledge we are already filled with. Foolish people
posturize God the Father as an old man, Holy Spirit as a cloud or a dove!

If we approach scriptures with a clean slate and taking help of the Holy
Spirit, things would be easier.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God and You alone are God. Father we pray we may know
You more and understand You better. Open our minds and understanding to
scriptures by the help of your Spirit. We pray we increase our authority in
You by knowing more of You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 5:26-27
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to
have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is
the Son of man.

John 8:48-50
48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou
art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do
dishonour me.
50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my
judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the
Father which hath sent me.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince
of Peace.

John 17:5,12,20-23
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory
which I had with thee before the world was.
12 While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given
me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of
perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
20 Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me
through their word;
21 that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in
thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou
didst send me.
22 And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that
they may be one, even as we are one;
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that
the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou
lovedst me.

Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty
and the Lamb [man] are the temple of it.

God of peace who bought up Lord Jesus from the dead

Hebrew 13:20,21 Now the God of peace, that brought again [up] from the
dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of
the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his
will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through
Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

In the Bible Jesus is referred to as Prince of Peace; today’s scripture
refers to the God of Peace; who is this entity is it speaking of?

Firstly we need to understand the process of Jesus coming out of Hell and
for that we need to understand Hell.

In the OT Hell is compared to the valley outside the city [Hades] were city
garbage was burned, it was also the place were those who were outlawed or
considered unclean i.e. lepers dwelt. So we got terms like Hades, pit etc.
People mistake Sheol to be Hell; Sheol refers to Grave. Hell and Grave are
two different realms of the lower levels of God’s Kingdom (lower Heavens).

Hell is the place for the unsaved. It is not ruled or controlled by Satan
as believed due to mythology being induced into Christianity. No place in
God’s Kingdom is in controlled by Satan, he only rules hardened hearts.
Peter uses the perfect term ‘prison’ for Hell. In a prison the criminals
dwell there but do not control it, it is the govt forces who controls it.
Hell was created when man sinned, God commanded that the soul will perish
there after it leaves the natural body. The fire of Hell is the sin which
burns in that soul until it perishes [takes thousands of years for that].

Grave / Sheol is the place where the saved sleep. In the OT it is stated as
the place where saved people were gathered unto their people/ fathers. In
the books of Moses there were some commandments wherein God instructed if
broken the soul will be cut off from His people, it meant the person will
not be saved. Jesus described it as Bosom of Abraham in His parable.
Revelation put as the Sea where the dead sleep and will rise from on
Judgment Day. It should not be misunderstood as Purgatory a mythical
concept connected to the belief of penance which is an unchristian belief.

Jesus went to Hell because our sins were laid on Him when sinful man placed
the crown of thorns on His head; the priest / sinner placed their hands on
the head of the sacrifice to transfer their sins on it before setting it
free in the wilderness [Jesus after His resurrection walked into the
wilderness]. Jesus resurrected / rose / was set free from Hell because He
could not be kept there since no sin was in Him. Bible says He rose on the
third day. Hell is not earth to have day and night, His rising on the third
day is symbolic to His coming again. Jesus said the sign of Jonah was for
the wicked, so He comes before the third ‘day’ [a measure of time]
completes to save His people. The book of Daniel says ‘Time’, ‘Time’ and a
half all prophecies will be fulfilled. The Feast of Trumpets a feast
connected to His coming again gives some details of the time of His coming
again, although not complete details [day is known, not the hour].

As per today’s message the ‘God of peace’ was behind His resurrection
(rising) from Hell. This working of the God of peace did not happen in
Hell, after His natural death but happened while He was alive on earth.

Jesus as man was like us, like you and me. He was born without sin and we
by our baptism in Him are free of our sins. He as Christ had the Spirit of
God on Him, Bible says He grew in the Holy Spirit and was led by the Holy
Spirit. If He had sinned while He was alive as man then He would not have
resurrected from Hell, it was by the power and working of the Holy Spirit
that He was without blemish. Today we have received the same Resurrection
Power / Holy Spirit / God of Peace because Jesus Christ paid the price of
our sins.

If we are going to wait for the Holy Spirit to work in us after our natural
death, it will be vanity. Let us allow the Resurrection Power work in us
while we are alive so that we are sealed with the promise of resurrection.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. Your Word says not by your power or might but by
your Spirit. Lord You being Spirit and your Kingdom being a Spirit Kingdom,
You desire we be born anew in spirit. You paid the price for our sins so
that we receive your Spirit and are sealed for resurrection. Lord we pray
we do not be foolish to wait until our natural death for your Spirit to
work in us but we led by your Spirit and molded by Him...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called

Psalms 30:3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast
kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death
and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged
every man according to their works.

Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection,
and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Son in the Father and the Father in the Son

Lord Jesus Christ in the Father and the Father in Him

John 14: 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it
sufficeth us.

In John 14:6 we have the most important scripture of Christianity where
Jesus says that He is the Truth and Life and no man can go to the Father
but by Him. This verse alone separates Christianity from every other
religion and makes it an exclusive belief.

When Jesus said this we see Philip thought Jesus was an entity separate
from the Father and the means to reach the Father; Christianity since ages
still thinks like Philip. Christianity assumes Jesus meant the likeness of
the Father is in Him thus Jesus said if you have seen me, you have seen the
Father. Jesus told Philip a very important fact that He is in the Father
and the Father is in Him.

In geometry we have something known as ‘impossible objects’ like Penrose
triangle. These objects in part look simple but when seen as a whole, it
seems impossible. The relationship between Father, Son and Spirit is not
like these impossible objects, we have made it like that because we have
not understood each one of them.

Like for instance we have always assumed the term Yahweh or Jehovah refers
to God the Father. If one sees the Hebrew text the word is YHWH. It is not
a name but a term used for God and it has a meaning. Hebrew language’s
alphabets came later before they used illustrations of objects to write.
Over time they chose common illustrations to mean number of objects and
these illustrations changed into symbols and gave birth to alphabets. Today
the 26 alphabets of Hebrew symbolize multiple objects, these alphabets are
also used as numbers - digits, tens and hundreds up to 400 (1-9,
10-90,100,200,300,400). If we take the symbols of the word YHWH it means
‘Behold the Hand, Behold the Nail’. In simple terms it refers to the Son
and not God the Father.

God the Father is very rarely mentioned in the Bible and only when we
understand what Jesus meant when He said in John 1:18 ‘no being’ has seen
the Father other than the Son, we will understand why. Jesus also said He
came ‘from the Father’.

We also need to understand that the Holy Spirit is also referred to as
Father in scriptures. The Holy Spirit is referred to as ‘Spirit of the Son’
and at the same time ‘Spirit from the Father’.

When we dig into every verse and every word in the Bible we will understand
the relationship between the Father, Son and Spirit and why Paul and John
shorten to only ‘Father and Son (Jesus)’, and Jesus further shortened to
only ‘One God’. There is no exaggeration when John wrote at the end of his
autobiography of Jesus Christ / Gospel according to John, if all the things
the Son did were to be written on paper all the paper in the world would
not hold them. This was not true only then but is true even today.

Let us not go by worldly knowledge and understanding but go by that which
scriptures alone state. Let us like the people of Berea be totally Sola
Scriptura, not blindly believing even the most famous Preacher or Teacher.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You alone are God. When Moses and Jacob asked your name You said ‘I AM
WHO I AM’. Ther is none other than You. Lord we pray we understand the
oneness of You and at the same time understand the existence of the Son and
the Spirit. We pray You open the eyes of your people and they may behold
You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 14:6-11
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from
henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast
thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and
how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the
words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that
dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe
me for the very works’ sake.

Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of
us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take
also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

John 1: 18 No man [being] hath seen God at any time; the only begotten
Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Philemon 1:3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord
Jesus Christ.

2 John 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and
from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is,
Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

Romans 3:30 Seeing one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith,
and uncircumcision through faith.

Galatians 3:20 Now a mediator is not of one, but God is one.

John 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world:
again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of
his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from
the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he
shall testify of me:

John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the
which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world
itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
