Are we omnipotent when we believe in Christ?

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Surely many times we may have heard Christians profess today's verse.
True this verse does give confidence to do something we may not have
done before or something we were not successful. But then we also have
faced times after prophesying this scripture, yet we have failed in
doing the task we set out to do. Does that mean this scripture is not
true Word of God?

If one looks at this verse in manuscripts some have the word 'Christ'
and some do not that is why BGT does not have the word Christ but the
BYZ does. Even though Paul wrote or did not write the word 'Christ' we
know he meant it and this he reiterates in his other letters.

But what is interesting is the very next verse Paul thanks the
Philippians for their support in the times of trouble. Now if a person
professes he can do all things then why should that person have troubles!

Jesus Christ is Son of God and (part of) God who humbled Himself and
became man so as God nothing is impossible, but then too God restricts
Himself to do the things of light and not the things of darkness for it
is not in His nature to do so. When He humbled Himself and cam as man He
became like you and me but since He was without sin/blemish/corruption
He had powers which we lost when sin corrupted us. These powers are not
God powers but powers like that of Angels, everything else which Jesus
did as man was through the powers of the Holy Spirit. This can be noted
for there are times He did miracles after thanking the Father but then
at times He did miracles without first thanking the Father since this
power was already within Him as man (Son of Man). That is why Jesus said
we would do greater things than He did, not that we are greater than Him
but because we in our time will have greater reasons to manifest the
power within us / power of God than He did in those days.

If we inspect scriptures there are many places Jesus addresses Himself
as Son of Man and not God the Son (everywhere He is addressed directly,
it is 'God the Son' and not 'Son of God'), these scriptures if spoken in
general means the power is default in us as we overcome corruption (sin

For us being in Christ does not mean Christ actually dwells in us but
means the nature of Christ dwells in us. It means the truth has started
removing the corruption and restoring the image of God in us, in other
words making us slowly Sons of God. So when the nature of Christ grows
in us we also grow in powers that Christ manifested.

Paul at times did great miracles, but then at times he struggled with
small issues and this he does acknowledge as due to his spiritual
struggle. In Rom 7:25 (one of his latter epistles) he says at time he
was in Christ (Law of God) and times in Adam (law of the flesh).

We see many a times Muslims laugh at us because the Bible says that
mankind was cursed and all became sinners because Adam sinned (they
believe Satan touches the child when it is born and that is why it
cries!). It was not we by birth are guilty of the sin of Adam but means
the sin nature of Adam is in us. It is only when we understand sin as
corruption, as a seed that bears fruit and more seeds the seed will
carry the characteristics of the previous seed. Does a mango seed bear
apples? Also if the seed has genetic infection so also the seeds it
bears will carry the infection, unless it is treated.

Christ is called the corner stone meaning we are called to be like Him.
In Hebrew the term adam (man) is never used for Him or even for the
Angels but the term Ishi is used. We need to differentiate the Adam
(nature of adam/his generation) in us and the Christ (Ishi/male/Son of
God) in us. The more we lose the Adam in us by letting it die, the more
the Ishi in us will grow and we will be more like Christ.

The Word of God and the Spirit of God undoes the corruption in us and
makes us more and more like Christ. Lord gave us His Word so as to
remove the corruption, but as sinners we could not receive the Word
(Truth) so the Lord played the price for our sins and gave us His Spirit
who reveals the Word (Truth) to us.

Let us understand the more we surrender to the Word and Spirit and
overcome the flesh the more the Christ like nature will be seen in us
and more all things will be possible for us (as per Will/Nature of God).

[Prayer Starter]

Lord God Almighty for You nothing is impossible but when a part of You
became man You gave all the God powers / glory but your Nature remained
and was manifested in the flesh. As man You showed us the image which
You created us in and which got corrupt when man sinned. Holy Spirit
help us overcome our sin nature by helping us abide in the Word and make
us more like Christ...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Faithful Abraham

Galatians 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful

In the New Testament there are two persons who are praised for their
faith, they are Abraham and Mary the mother of Jesus. But between both,
the Apostles highlight Abraham and not Mary as an example for faith.

Abraham is called father of faith but interestingly Abraham was the
person who struggled the most with his faith. People do not realize this
man struggled for 25 years to believe what God had told him. People
think God tested him for 25 years before he received his promise which
is false. They do not realize when God said He would bless Abraham and
Sarah with a child, God did not say after 25 years but did mean it at
that time. The person who held back the promise was not God but Abraham
himself. When God told Abraham to go to the Promised Land taking his
wife and none of his kin, Abraham did not abide by the instructions
fully. He did leave taking his wife but he also took Lot his nephew
alone. We see it was only after Abraham separated from Lot that he
received his promise.

When God tells us something or we claim a promise from scriptures it is
not that they sometimes work and sometimes do not. Every promise or Word
has conditions and will come to pass only when we abide by the
conditions fully. When we partly abide by the conditions then it is not
God but us who hold back the promise from being fulfilled.

We find even Mary is praised for her faith for accepting the
responsibility of bearing the Savior as a virgin even before her marriage.

Between Abraham and Mary the Apostles praise Abraham for his faith but
do not praise Mary for her faith. To understand this one needs to get
into the details.

After the mistake Abraham learned what it meant to abide in the promised
and he became so strong that he did not hesitate a bit when he was
tested for his faith. He was asked to sacrifice the son he was given and
he went ahead to do that. He knew since god promised God would either
give him another son or the dead son would come alive.

Coming to Mary we see that God knew Mary was weak in faith that is why
the birth of John the Baptist was a miracle and not normal birth. When
the Angel Gabriel announced that Mary would be blessed to be mother of
the Savior, the Angel also encouraged Mary with the testimony of
Elizabeth being pregnant in her old age. So Mary's faith was not that
strong that without the testimony of her cousin she would have accepted
to be the mother of the Savior.

We also see later even though Mary personally experienced or witnessed
many miracles of her son yet there were times when her faith was shaken
very much. Like once she believed the people that her son was possessed
with an evil spirit and thus ran with her other son to confirm His
wellbeing. Another incident was after the death of Jesus where Mary
along with other women prepared spices used for rituals that were pagan
(Egyptian origin) followed by the Jews of Galilee. It was done on the
third day of one's death. It was this very thing which was already
performed on Lazarus' body, along with the presence of hired mourners
that caused Jesus to cry at the tomb of Lazarus before He bought him
back to life. We also find after Pentecost Mary is active in building
the Church, since Luke does not record her anywhere (Luke recorded all
important events in his books we call as Acts).

Today God is telling us to learn about faith from Abraham. We may make
mistakes in our faith walk but we are called like Abraham to learn from
them and not repeat them. We should know the value of God's Word and how
everything else would change but His Word will remain. If we are
experiencing delay in God's promise in our lives let us not be foolish
to always think we are been tested, most of the time we will find we are
not abiding by the instructions fully. God's hand is not short that He
delays or struggles to deliver His promise. So if God has said it then
it has to come to past, all we need to do is abide by it.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are Almighty God and You do not change, like your Word You
always remain. Lord if You have said it, we know it has to come to past
and if there is a delay it is only because the conditions are not
fulfilled. Lord we pray You open our eyes to those areas where we have
failed to fulfill the conditions so that we abide fully in thy Word and
receive the promise we await...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

1Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from
thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make
thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:
and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

4So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with

also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son

Mark 3:30-33

30Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

31There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without,

32And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy
mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.

33And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?

John 19:40Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen
clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

Luke 23:56And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and

Luke 24:1Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning,
they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had
prepared, and certain others with them.

Christianity is not into bondage but in freedom

Galatians 2:3, 4 But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was
compelled to be circumcised: And that because of false brethren unawares
brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in
Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

In today's message we see Paul writes on some people who called
themselves as Christians but were trying to influence others into
traditions which cause spiritual bondages. They were secretly advising
people on getting circumcised. They were not teaching things from pagan
religions or beliefs, but were telling them about things from the OT,
things pertaining to Judaism. What is interesting is Paul uses the term
false Christians to these people and more interesting is Peter too was
rebuked by Paul on this same matter. Was Peter also a false Christian?
And how does one call someone a false Christian if they are preaching
from the Bible?

Everything about Christianity is spiritual. It is about renewing the
inner man from Adam to Jesus, discarding the nature of Adam and putting
on the nature of Jesus and this is done by the help of the Holy Spirit
and to receive the Holy Spirit one needs to be forgiven for one's sins
by accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. So being forgiven for one's
sins is not even the start of the process of becoming Christian.
Christianity starts not with accepting Christ but by accepting His
Spirit and letting His Spirit work in us. Thus all who believe in Jesus
Christ are not Christians but all led by His Spirit are Christians.
Christianity in other words, is about becoming Sons of God.

Here we see these people were following things of the flesh which leads
one to bondages of the religious spirit. True, God did advise some
things to do in the natural but those were to understand the things of
the Spirit and were done because the people had not received the Holy
Spirit. So everything about Judaism is of the flesh, of bondages, for
they had not received the Holy Spirit.

Everything we do including a simple things like kneeling to pray should
not become bondage, but should be done from the spirit. If done in
spirit it can help us pray better but if we do in the flesh then even
this simple thing of kneeling will soon drag us to other things which
will bind our spirit and not let it communicate with God, failing the
very purpose of prayer; so even prayer done not in spirit and truth, can
be harmful.

Paul did not call Peter a false Christian but called these people as
false Christian, because both were rebuked by Paul and Peter corrected
himself but these people continued doing in secret.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are Spirit and You desire people to worship You in Spirit and
Truth. Lord we pray we understand even before we speak words out of our
mouth You have already heard it. You are no man that You need to see,
hear or touch. You see what is hidden, You hear the unspoken and You
touch that which does not exist. You Lord are God and creator of all and
You know everything that was, is and will be. We pray we who are called
your Children worship You in Spirit and Truth...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Galatians 2:7-8

7But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision
was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

8(For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the
circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

Romans 2:28-29

28For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that
circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of
the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of
men, but of God.

Galatians 2:11-14

11But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face,
because he was to be blamed.

12For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles:
but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them
which were of the circumcision.

13And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that
Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

14But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth
of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew,
livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why
compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

John 4:24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in
spirit and in truth.

Being led by the Spirit in our labor

Acts 16:9, 10And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a
man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and
help us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to
go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for
to preach the gospel unto them.

We see many concordances give confused explanation for this scripture,
this is because in the vision Paul sees in Macedonia a man standing and
calling out to Paul to come but the later recordings of his reaching
there, there is not record of any man who was requesting for the
presence of Paul from that place. So did Paul get a wrong vision?

We see in the same chapter after Paul got the vision, Paul and Silas
left to Macedonia and on reaching there they stay at the house of a
woman named Lydia, who traded in purple (expensive) garments whom they
baptized along with her household. While moving around a young woman
with a spirit of divination [fortune / future telling] who started
proclaiming that Paul and Silas were Men of God. Now we as Men of God
would have been happy to have a well-known physic, soothsayer,
telepathist, fortune teller declaring us as Men of the Living God.We
would have thought that the person was accepting our God and us as His
representatives, but Paul discerned the spirit that was doing this and
later rebuked it to leave that young woman. This caused the woman to
lose her powers to tell the future and this resulted in them being put
in jail.

It is in jail that supernaturally Paul and Silas are freed and this
causes the jailer to almost kill himself but Paul and Silas stop him.
This incident leads to the jailer accepting Christ and his family also
to accepting Christ. The authorities on knowing that Paul was a Roman
releases them and then Paul and Silas return to the house of Lydia and
thereafter leave Macedonia. Now in all this the only man in Macedonia
who was really blessed was the jailer but the jailer was not calling to
Paul as he saw in his vision.

There are times we can misrelate vision / dream and this has happened
even with me a few times. Although they were from the Lord and the
dream/vision was perfectly right but interpreting them did not go

In Greek we see the words dream and vision is used but when we cross
check Acts 2:17 which in turn relates to Joel 2:28 (in WTT it is 3:1)
the Hebrew words used in Joel 2:17 as dream and vision is same what
differs between them is the tense and quantity. It says the young will
see dreams but the mature will dream dreams. So having visions / dreams
increases with spiritual maturity but one needs to discern those which
are from the Lord and those which are from other sources (like over
eating causes dreams; both natural or spiritual - like worrying too much).

Like the Bible has a set way of how the Lord spoke to His people through
symbols so also in dreams we see the Lord used similar symbols. If one
studies Biblical symbols one can have the ability to interpret dreams.
In the start it was only through repetition of the dream and seeing its
consequences I starting relating the patterns, later with Bible study it
became easy to interpret them. Then I saw the Lord started answering my
questions through dreams (though not instantly every time). Dreams are
not simple to interpret. In the start I would jump to tell people but
later as I made some mistakes in interpreting them I started taking caution.

Paul did see a man from Macedonia calling out to him and this was indeed
the jailer but the jailer himself was not aware. Had it not been for the
chain of events that Paul and Silas went through, they would not have
been able to bring the jailer and his family into Christ.

We are called to preach the Gospel to all but the Lord knows who are of
His flock and who among the flock, are His sheep. Jesus spoke of there
being many widows in Israel but Elijah being sent to a specific widow's
house and there being many lepers at the time of Elisha but only one was
healed and that too from Syria and this got the Jews very angry. They
knew that Jesus was telling them there were no true people of God
(sheep) leaving for these.

We preach Christ to people and many may accept Christ but from them who
are goats and who are sheep we will not know. In Heaven we will get
rewarded only for the sheep not for the goats for only sheep will enter
the Kingdom of God.

Today the Lord is telling us when we are led by His Spirit then we may
labor less in His Kingdom but this labor will be fruitful labor. Paul
did do very fruitful work but we do not see Paul worked day and night,
daily. He did at times but not daily. He did get time for himself and
for building himself in the Lord. He did only 3 long tours to various
places in those 30 to 35 years of his ministry.

In today's date we see many who labor very hard in the Lord and do not
get time for personal growth. They need to ask themselves are they
reaching out to goats more or to sheep. If they are gathering only goats
then they will not reap much reward in the Kingdom of God. Jesus did not
say just preach the Gospel to the ends of the world, He also said make
disciples and it is only the sheep who become disciples. It is better to
add one sheep then a thousand goats.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Spirit and You desire worship in Spirit and Truth. We pray
Lord we who are called by You do not labor much in the flesh but let our
labor be fruitful being led by your Spirit. Lord we pray we reach out to
more sheep than goats. We pray we add people who enter the Kingdom of
God and not those who accept You but reject your Will, those who seek
You only for their personal gains...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Acts 2:17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will

In flesh or in spirit

Galatians 6:12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they
constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer
persecution for the cross of Christ.

Continuing yesterday' message the Lord speaks to us through Galatians
6:12. When Paul wrote this part of the letter he wrote it in big
alphabets since Greek did not have things like highlighting a sentence
which we have in the English language (bold, italic, underline etc.).
Note.. the later manuscripts used color to highlight text like sayings
of Jesus.

Again the Lord is telling us today He is Spirit and we need to worship
Him in spirit. He does not desire our fasting or our penance He desires
a change in us, in our spirit, our inner man.

Christianity is not in rituals or traditions or works of the flesh. We
are called to live a normal life void of extravagance even in small
things. We may not have luxury cars or clothes but even in personal
things like clothes or electronic items we are called for purpose more
than show. How many of us go by brands or latest trends when we shop.
Jesus did wear expensive clothes but they had purpose and meaning as to
why He wore them.

When it comes to Christian life many of us do things in the flesh like
fasting regularly, praying for hours or living in isolation. We may do
these once a while as led by the Spirit of God but when this becomes
regular and timetabled we need to wake up and see what we are doing, are
we seek circumcision of the flesh or circumcision in the spirit.

Like we are called to pray continually, we are also called to fast
continually. If we understand the kind of prayer life God seeks and the
fasting which God seeks we will understand circumcision in the spirit.

In Prayer we are called to be in communication with God continually but
many of us do almost idol worship when it comes to prayer life. They
talk to the Living God without seeking response as if they are praying
to a dead God or an idol. They keep repeating and repeating as if God is
hard to hear, just showing their faithlessness. Once in a while in
repentance we may pray long hours but if a person does that every day it
raises questions as to if the person is really repenting.

This message is to those who are mature or called themselves spiritually
mature Christians; do not try to fool God or fool yourselves with your

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God, You are Spirit and not man. You Lord are
Omnipresent and nothing is hidden from You. Lord, You seek change in the
spirit for You said only those born again from above in spirit will
enter the Kingdom of God.We are called to disconnect from the Adam man
and connect to the Ishi (spirit) man. The Adam in us needs to die and
the Ishi in us needs to come alive...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Galatians 6:11-15

11Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.

12As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you
to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the
cross of Christ.

13For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but
desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord
Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

15For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor
uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Hosea 2:16And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt
call me Ishi [man]; and shalt call me no more Baali [unknown God].

1 Corinthians 15:22,45

22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

45And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the
last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

John 3:3-7

3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he
enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit.

7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Wages of Sin is Death

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Initial days of becoming a Christian I was told God hated sin so I was
given a picture that God would be very angry with those who have sinned.
He would be pictured as a judge sitting on a throne and looking up the
list of sins one have done and then taking a call on to forgive or
punish. The worse thing was the moment He chooses to punish we are made
to believe that devils take charge of us and have their fun of torturing
us; more like the devils are a department under God's rule. Satan is
shown as one who tries to over throw God every now and then, desiring to
sit on His throne but fails to do so. Funny thing is even after failures
and losing many battles, Satan still continues to live.

All these are Catholic stories taken from Gothic tales and still
believed by most Christians.

When we really understand the Bible we see when man sinned he could not
continue to dwell in the presence of God who is Holy (meaning near to
His Glorious Throne). Like goodness gets blessed / magnified before God
similarly evil suffers more before Him (closer to Him). So for the sake
of man God removed him from His presence and destined those with sin to
be put in a place furthermost from Him.

God is everywhere even in Hell one cannot escape God, but the glory of
God is least in Hell unlike in the Upper Heavens where His glory is most
concentrated (Throne). Hell is a prison made to hold the soul/spirit man
having sin in him after his natural death until he dies his spirit life
(he is not killed but lives his spirit life). There his sins would burn
inside him like a never ending burning coal but this is better off than
what he would suffer being nearer to God.

God does not punish anyone on his death. Bible says they are already
judged that means if they have sin then they are held up in Hell where
they live the rest of their spirit live (which by the way is thousands
of years and not a few hundred).

God made s way for the sins of man to be forgiven through the sacrifice
of His Son so those who believe in Him are forgiven and they do not go
to Hell. They sleep or rest in Him (place called Grave) until the
purpose of mankind is complete. Once the Bride is ready the Groom comes
to receive the Bride to be a part of Him and dwell with Him in the Upper
Heavens where She can have eternal life (have access to the Tree of
Life). It is during this time that His flock is judged and those who
found to not do His Will (goats) are punished for mocking the sacrifice.
So the wrath of God is not experienced by those who have sinned and have
rejected Him but is experienced by those who know Him, accepted His
sacrifice but rejected His Will.

Let us understand our natural life can be stopped, that means someone
can kill us but our spirit does not die. We live our spirit life until
its end (only God can take away our spirit life, but what He gives He
does not take back). If sin is there in us we automatically are put in
Hell to be imprisoned there, to suffer our sins in a cell which is
described as endless pit. Those who have accepted Christ and walked in
his Way will get to go to Heaven (Upper Heavens) where they will get the
opportunity to renew their spirit life as and when necessary via the
Tree of Life so as to live eternally.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are merciful God. When man sinned You removed him from your
presence not because You hated him but to save him, that is why You
clothed him and thought him about accepting your sacrifice which You
made available from the foundation of creation. Lord your anger is
experienced by those who mock your Son after knowing He is your Son by
accepting Him but rejecting your Will which He brings to us. Lord we
pray your people dwell in your Will so as to have eternal and glorious
life being one with your Son as He is one with You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

John 3:18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God.

with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after
the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them,
and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

Acts 13:36For David, after he had served his own generation by the will
of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

Acts 7:59-60

59And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus,
receive my spirit.

60And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this
sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand
before the Son of man.

nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of

Revelation 20:12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God;
and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the
book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were
written in the books, according to their works.

Are there gods?

1 Corinthians 8:5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in
heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

All know that because we intellectual, complex beings exist that there is a
being who created us and that being is whom we call God. Religion is all
about trying to reach out to this being / beings. All religions can be
classified into 3 categories:- Monotheistic (one God), Polytheistic (many
gods) and Atheist (no God/gods).

You may wonder why I put Atheism as a religion. To deny God is a religion
in itself. Like Bible says even a fool knows there is God but yet he lies
to his heart saying that there is no God. Cross question an atheist about
creation and at the end, after giving excuses of Aliens and other things he
or she will say ‘who knows’.

Christianity is a Monotheistic religion believing in one God / Creator. In
today’s message the translation may give different interpretation, where
some may think Paul is acknowledging the existence of many gods but the
Greek words says ‘for though there be so to say beings that are called
gods’. Paul is not acknowledging the existence of gods but acknowledging
that people have gods.

Yesterday I attended a crash introduction to Hebrew where I was taught the
Hebrew alphabets and vowels. Unlike other languages even names in Hebrew
have purpose and understanding of the object i.e. the person teaching
showed us the similarity in Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the
Word was God.

The Greek word translated as ‘word’ is logos and logos does not mean
written word but a spoken word and pointing more towards the voice.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the Heavens and Earth.

The word used here for God is Elohim and when one breaks up the Hebrew
alphabets and their meaning the word sums up as the Strong Voice of God.

So both scriptures acknowledge the existence of a being and talks of His
voice which created all things. John goes on to say that, that being became
flesh amongst us as Jesus.

Islam claims to be a Monotheistic religion even though their Allah meaning
‘the god’ and was chosen from hundreds of idols of the Sabians who were
Polytheistic and this Allah has 3 daughters (goddesses) who are named in
the Quran (Su 53:19-20). It’s also for this reason Mohammad justifies
Sabians (polytheistic) along with Jews and Christians (monotheistic) as
people who will go to Paradise (Quran Su 2:62). Interestingly Muslims
confuse Christianity to be a Polytheistic religion because we also state
the existence of God the Son and God the Spirit, whom we say are one. They
will say 1+1+1=3 and not one. They do not realize the 1 they are defining
here is infinite God and they are limiting or put God as a finite being. We
have many Christians who also make the same mistake so (unwisely) say it is
not 1+1+1 but 1x1x1 so the result is 1. These people do not realize
infinity then added or multiplied the result still remains to be infinity
(1). One person said infinity is a concept so one cannot do mathematical
formulae like add and multiply on it. So similarly when man cannot size God
then how can they use formulas on Him?

Bible says God is Spirit and the Son came from the Father. Bible also says
the Spirit of the Son is the Spirit of the Father and the Father is greater
than the Son, so their oneness is undeniable and existence of only one God
is also undeniable.

God created man out of earth and put his breathe (spirit /life) in it to
make him a living being/soul. Foolish man is taking the same earth, shaping
it and trying to put breathe (spirit/life) into it to make god/gods, but
since they are unable to bring it alive so they make stories which can be
kept alive in the minds of people. We see evil spirit taking advantage of
this foolishness of man and are coming as these gods.

Let us not be innocent of the ways of Satan but be-aware of him and thus
discern and keep away from his traps.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord we thank You for choosing us to know You and worship You as our God
and Creator. We thank You for revealing your plans for us to us via your
Word so that we do not miss of it. Lord we pray You be manifested in our
lives so that those who do not know You may see You in us and come to You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are
corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father that sent me draw him:
and I will raise him up in the last day.

John 14:28 Ye heard how I said to you, I go away, and I come unto you. If
ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go unto the Father: for the
Father is greater than I.

Mark them!

Philippians 3:17, 18, 19 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark
them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of
whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are
the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God
is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

When we read today's message one may wonder Paul is telling people to be
judgmental. He seem to say mark them that say they are Christian Leaders
but are people who are concern more of their belly, their fame and
earthly things more than about the mission of Christ. Paul goes on to
call these people 'enemies of the CROSS of Christ' more like
Anti-Christ. One of the clues that Paul gives to identify these people
is by comparing their lifestyle with the lifestyle of the Apostles
(people like Paul).

If one sees the lifestyle of the Apostles, it was a lifestyle of
simplicity. They were people who lived by their needs and not by their
desires. Their main focus was the Kingdom of God and glory of God via
Christ. They never glorified themselves nor boasted about their
achievements to the people. Their own families were never the focus of
their ministry. We do not see them praying regularly for prosperity or
deliverance from financial problem. They preached repentance,
deliverance from evil spirits and overcoming the flesh.

Just some weeks back a brother rooted in the Word and who harkens to the
Holy Spirit was helping his Church who called an international preacher
who preaches Prosperity Gospel. You may think the Church is inviting the
needy and the suffering, NO. Like the brother rightly worded the message
before forwarding for 'elite Christians' and 'celebrities'. Those who
have are the ones who want more, more than those who do not have.

One may look at all the Church Leaders today and put them against what
Paul speaks and one may say are all of them enemies of the CROSS of
Christ, since only a handful of them live a simple life serving God more
than serving their families or their egos or their bellies.

One may think Paul calls us to point them out and condemn them, shame
them in public or at least among other Believers. NO

Paul uses the word 'skopeo', translated here as 'mark'; in Greek it
means more to observe and learn. Paul tells us to be-aware (beware) of
such people for they may claim to be good shepherds but are people who
have made Church and Ministry a business to meet their physical or
mental desires. We are not called to condemn them openly but to discern
them and be careful of them.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You humbled yourself and came as man to give unto others eternal
life. You did not come to take but give, You will take only at the end
that is on Judgment Day. You want the most precious thing that is us.
Lord we pray those who are called to be shepherds may not crave for
earthly things or things that gratify the mind, but seek souls like You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Philippians 3:20-21

20For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the
Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

21Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his
glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to
subdue all things unto himself.

Matthew 7:18-23

18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree
bring forth good fruit.

19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast
into the fire.

20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done
many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me,
ye that work iniquity.

The just centurion Cornelius

Acts 10:33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done
that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to
hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

In this incident we see the Lord appears to Cornelius the Roman
centurion and asks him to send for Simon Peter, and the Lord also
provides the address. At the same time we see the Lord speaks to Peter
and tells him about 3 men who would come seeking for him. We see here
the Lord makes double sure that Peter goes to minister to Cornelius.

We may think God was sending Peter to minister to Cornelius but we fail
to realize that while Peter was sent to minister to Cornelius the Lord
was ministering to Peter. Just before the 3 men arrive at Simon the
tanner's house to ask for Peter, we see Peter had a vision where the
Lord was asking him to eat various kinds of animals which Peter thought
to be unclean.

Peter was a religious person and had great Jewish influence in his
understanding; he would get into controversies because of this and was
later rebuked by Paul for this more than once.

We today have many Christians who due to lack of understanding of
scriptures follow the Lord in the flesh. People get very disturbed when
you tell them you consume pork (pig) as a Christian; these same people
do not get any disturbed when they state Jewish people are special
people of God and they call themselves gentiles. How many times have you
heard people claim that God has asked us to pray for Israel, on asking
them to show the scripture, they will provide one where the Lord asks
His people to pray for Jerusalem. Jerusalem is a city and Israel a
nation. Pray for Delhi does not mean pray for India. Also during OT
times Jerusalem was the capital of Judah and Samaria was capital of
Israel. Also how many know there are two Jerusalems mentioned in the OT
text with different spellings.

Jesus said anything we eat goes out into the draught and does not defile
us (spiritually). All animals are made of flesh and bones like humans,
but Paul says the flesh of man is unlike the flesh of animals or of
birds. Man knows 2 types of flesh white and red (i.e. fish and animals).
If a scientist were to read this verse he would say the Bible fails
since Paul is unaware it is not possible for any layman to differentiate
between human flesh and animal flesh, especially beef. It is only under
the microscope or by doing a DNA test one can differentiate between
fleshes (that way flesh of every type of animal is different). So did
Paul write this without being inspired by God? No.

Paul did not talk of physical flesh same as when God said an animal is
clean or unclean God too did not talk of the actual animal. It is only
when we study the nature of animal we understand what God was telling us
a clean or unclean. People especially Muslims do not eat pigs but live
its spiritual nature that is of consuming understandings without
discerning. In the name of Islam they believe anything even when it
contradicts what they already believe.

Today in India we have a great political storm alive in the name of cast
and of animals being considered holy. By their birth people are
considered unclean or of lower status. This understanding is so deep
rooted among Indians that even Believer Christians in many states
(especially among south Indians) still follow it.

All humans are same in the natural irrespective of which ever race they
are of, leaving for difference in physical height, skin color or hair.
There is only one race which has a prominent facial difference (in the
skull) and that is the Mongolian race (East Asian). Thus there is no
much difference at all in the natural; the only difference is in the
spiritual. In the spiritual as per God's Kingdom there are 3 types of
people. Those who have no faith - not among the flock; then those among
the flock are of two types the non-doers of the Word - the goats and the
doers of the Word - the sheep.

Like Cornelius we may be Roman, or be Japanese, Philippian, African,
Indian, Middle Eastern, European, American or Israelite; we all are same
in the eyes of God provided we have faith and are in Christ (doers of
His Will). Those who will be hated by God and punished most are not the
ones who do not know God (they pay for their sins / their sins burn in
them) but are those who know God and yet have rejected Him by rejecting
His Will/Word.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord we pray we do not look at man and judge them but understand the
difference is inside not on the outside. Lord we pray for maturity and
discernment and release from all religious bondages of misunderstanding.
We pray we remember You created everything and after doing so You said
all is Good...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Acts 10:17-35

Acts 10:9-15

9On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the
city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

10And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made
ready, he fell into a trance,

11And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it
had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild
beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is
common or unclean.

15And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath
cleansed, that call not thou common.

Matthew 15:17-20

17Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth
goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

18But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the
heart; and they defile the man.

19For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries,
fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

20These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen
hands defileth not a man.

1 Corinthians 15:39All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one
kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and
another of birds.

Blood and Water

John 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and
forthwith came there out blood and water.

Put this scripture for discussion on the table and you will find some of
the craziest of explanations. Long time back at a prayer service one
Believer bro stated it was a baptism of Christ and baptism of the thief
whom Jesus said was saved (he could not explain how this water baptized
the thief for this bro believed without water baptism the thief could
not enter Heaven). Catholics too have some crazy understanding of this
scripture which causes their priest to put a small quantity of water in
the wine while the breaking the Eucharist (round wafer symbolizing the
Sun, which they say is the body of Christ). Catholics also follow a
belief called 'Divine Mercy' which pictures Jesus with water and blood
oozing out of His heart which is shown outside His body. This too is
very unbiblical and focused to mislead people from being saved (in the
name of getting saved) for it calls them to chat words which reject
Christ (His Word) even though they take the name of Christ.

When a person drinks water on an empty stomach it takes about 5mins for
the water to be absorbed and enter the blood stream. Cold water is
absorbed faster than hot water. If one eats and drinks water then the
water has to wait till the food is digested to be absorbed. All extra
water is ejected out of the body as urine. Maximum time (in normal
situation) water can remains in the stomach is 2 hours. There are cases
where water is retained by the body in some places and this is a disease.

Jesus was arrested on the starting day of the Feast of the Unleavened
Bread which was a Sabbath / Saturday evening (the feast was weeklong
feast and during the time of Jesus was celebrated along with the
Passover). So it was both the first day of Unleavened Bread and also the
day when the lamb was bought into the house and kept under observation
for 5 days to see if it shows signs of blemish.

Jesus was taken from the Jewish court to Roman courts and tortured by
both through the 5 days (it was not a one day event). So on Thursday
evening He was taken for crucifixion and crucified in the evening.
Friday was the Passover Day and a High Sabbath. It was during the five
days that the Jews whipped Him with a standard whip and the Romans with
one having 9 to 13 strands and flesh tearing objects tied to its ends.
All through these 5 days they mocked Him and abused Him and surely they
neither feed Him nor give Him water to drink (for they wanted Him to
die). John 19:32 says He thirsted after He came to the end of the
ordeal. Scripture says on His request they gave Him vinegar (which is
sour wine, also called poor man's wine). Before crucifying Him they
tried giving Him vinegar mixed with gall (used as a pain killer) but He
refused it.

If we look at the whole scientifically there is no chance of water
oozing out along with blood when He was pierced on the side, thus this
was a miracle in itself.

Why did God need to do this miracle?

All things connected with the Passion of Christ from the last supper to
His walking into the wilderness after His resurrection had to do with
fulfillment of sacrifices given in the books of Moses.

One of the sacrifices done to ordain the sons of the High Priest as a
Priest was washing the inner parts of the sacrifice. The Lord showed us
through the oozing of water and blood that we are today ordained as
Priest and sons unto His Kingdom. There is no better conformation than
the fulfillment of the sacrifice.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord we thank You for being such an awesome God. Your love for us cannot
be comprehended. You suffered as man and fulfilled all that was needed
for restoration of man into your Kingdom. Lord let this blood and water
be a reminder for us of our duty as Priests and Sons. May we not fail in
our duty to make void the great sacrifice in our lives...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Matthew 27:34They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when
he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

John 19:28-30

28After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that
the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

29Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge
with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

30When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is
finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the spirit.

Exodus 29:17And thou shalt cut the ram in pieces, and wash the inwards
of him, and his legs, and put them unto his pieces, and unto his head.

Eyes the engineering marvel of God

Acts 22:13,14 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul,
receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him. And he said,
The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his
will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

One of the greatest marvels in this creation is what we see it with,
that is our eye. Technology has developed so much that we can see deep
into space many light years far, but yet this technology is not
competent enough to beat this small creation of God which is the eye,
i.e. its resolution is about 576 mega pixels.

When one studies the parts of the eye and how it functions one just
remains in awe of the wisdom of God. He has everything from physics, to
chemistry, to biology, to mathematics all in this small wonderful camera
by which we see the world.

When I was reading the transformation of Saul (Paul was his Roman name,
from father's side and Saul his Jewish name, from mother's side) I saw
what happened to Saul was more of a cataract operation. Saul sees a
flash of light and from that time he is unable to see for everything is
hazy. After Ananias prayed over him the scales of his eyes fell and he
could see. I was wondering why God needed to replace Saul's eye scales /

In His teachings Jesus said the eye is the light of the body. He said if
our eyes are good then the whole body will be full of light.

Try this test speak to a person about something while showing a video
which is the opposite of what you are saying and there are very high
chances that the person will grasp what they see more than what you are
saying. A picture speaks a thousand words and video hundred thousand.

Vision is very important part of the human system. Man understands the
importance of visuals and that is why today schools use this medium more
and more to teach its students. The world that hates God also knows its
importance and thus uses this aggressively to tempt people to lust and
sin. Christians do not realize the way they are influenced by this world
and fall prey to the world. Women specially have become victims to this
so called 'modern world' and in the name of glamor and beauty have
become instruments to propagate lust of the eyes, of touch and of taste
the weapons of Satan. When he tempted Adam and Eve he had them first to
see the forbidden fruit, then hold it and then taste it. Ad media uses
the same system of see, touch and taste to sell products.

When I was writing on the inner-man the Lord led me to study the human
eye and helped me understand the inner-man through the eye. Saul did not
need his eyes to be blinded or scale (lens) of his eyes to be replaced;
God could have changed him from inside. God did this to show us what
exactly He was doing inside with Saul.

To look and see is two different things. We may look at things but we
may not see it. Our eyes capture a thousand things but where our focus
is, allows us to see it. Let us be aware of what we are focusing on in
this word and beware the ways of the evil one.

Today God is telling us 2 things, one the importance of what we see and
how that affects us inside and who can lead us towards darkness.
Secondly He is also telling us the vision of our inner-man should be
renewed for the change to happen. What we see in our spirit is very
important since it tells us where we are headings. In our spirit if we
see God's glory we are heading towards light but if we see anything else
we are heading towards darkness.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are an Awesome God and your wisdom is beyond measure. You have
created the most marvelous things as little, for You Lord take pride in
making the weak strong and the poor rich. You Lord are maker of the
impossible and unthinkable. We pray Lord that we give importance to what
things we see and how we see things...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

single [good], thy whole body shall be full of light.

Matthew 18:9And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from
thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than
having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

Matthew 20:15Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is
thine eye evil, because I am good?

Acts 9:17,18

17And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his
hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared
unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest
receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

18And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he
received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Holy Scriptures -the complete Book

Romans 1:1,2Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle,
separated unto the gospel of God, (Which he had promised afore by his
prophets in the holy scriptures,)

In today's message Paul talks of him being a bonded servant (set for a
task or period of time and not slave) with a Calling of an Apostle
separated to give the Gospel (Good News) of God as promised by the
Prophets in the Holy Scriptures.

If one asks any Christian about the book of Romans, you will get the
answer 'it is Word of God', some may say 'inspired Word of God'.

Are all the (66) books of the Bible inspired by God? – Yes

Are all the (66) books of the Bible infallible? – Yes

Are all the (66) books of the Bible Word of God? – Not really

If one looks at the Bible minutely it is like a library having various
types of books. There are some prophetic books, some chronicles, some
teachings (explaining scriptures) and the Gospels (teachings and
recordings of Jesus). The book of Romans (Paul's letter to the Romans in
Rome) is part of the Epistles of Paul by which Paul guides the Roman
Christians to understand scriptures.

When we say prophetic books of the Bible it means the books that have
prophecies concerning the salvation of mankind. Paul puts it in a better
way in today's message he says those written by the Prophets. Paul does
not say Man of God (Nabi) but specifies those with the calling of a
Prophet. In Greek the word used is 'prophetes' meaning a 'speaker of
oracles', it is made of 2 words which together mean one who says about
an event in advance. In other words Biblical Prophets are spokesmen of
God who speak on behave of God and announce this before they happen.

We have Men and Women of God who have the Calling of Prophet even today
does that mean they give the Word of God. The Prophet Writers or
composers (people begin the books) of the Old Testament were special for
they gave prophecies concerning the salvation of mankind, Jesus was the
last to complete declaring prophecies concerning the salvation of
mankind. He is called the finisher of our faith not only by the things
He did, doing and will do, but also because He completed the prophetic
Word of God concerning salvation of mankind. Today, or even after Jesus'
preaching on the Mount of Olives where it is written 'He finished all
these words', just before He became our Paschal sacrifice; no one can
add or change anything that is already given.

Let us understand the Bible is a complete book, a library within itself
and all that we need is within the Bible. In the start we may refer to
other books so as to understand the Bible but as we learn to study the
Bible better we will find we really do not need any other book for
everything needed, in every way is there within the 66 books.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are God and all knowing. Lord, You and your Word are Truth that
is unchangeable. You Lord know what is needed and thus everything needed
You have already provided. We pray Lord your people learn to understand
your Word and be rooted on the Rock (cliff) that does not shake...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Stop being earthly Christians

John 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the
earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven
is above all.

A couple of days back I saw a bro preaching in a whatsapp Christian
group that Hell is in the center of the earth and Heaven is above. His
understanding was based on English translations. What I was surprised
was the group had many mature Christians who kept silent and did not
confront him. He used scriptures like Philippians 2:10 which have words
like 'under the earth'; the Greek word there is 'katachthonios' which is
a compound word and means 'the world below'. Also Revelation 5:3,13
where the words 'under the earth' actually means 'by below'.

Islam has a belief of Paradise (Garden) as being a physical place
suspended up in the air and one Islamic preacher stated it to be right
above the Kaaba based on Islamic text. Hindus also believe their gods
dwell in the clouds and have palaces similar to earthly place but made
of gold and precious stones and also places like mountains suspended in
the air. What is common in all these religions is that they hold on to
the natural and are void of the spiritual. They anchor earth as being
the center of all things.

In OT Hebrew text show directions north, south, east and west but if one
goes to the root words these are linear direction (north and east) as
down and (south and west) as up. God's Kingdom is either up / down or
north /south or west / east or right / left and these are based on
principles of God and not direction.

The 'Christian' belief of a physical Heaven and Hell was promoted by the
Catholics and programed into the minds of people by visual media
(paintings). Due to Catholic programing there are many Christian who
think Heaven is actually made of earthly gold and gems and a city
suspended in the air above earth. They base their understanding on
scriptures but they ignore the preceding scripture which specifies the
dimension of this Heaven city. If one also takes these measurements
literally then Heaven will become a large Barbie house.

The Jews fail to know God even though they have the Word of God (OT)
with them and they know the native (Hebrew and Aramaic) language, all
because they go by the literate text and not by the understanding of the

Today's scripture has two 'above's and both have different meanings the
first above 'anothen' means 'a higher place', roots from the word 'in
the beginning' so this scripture talks of a place that pre-existed and
greater than that what we exist in. The second above 'epano' means the
normal above which is 'over'.

Bible translations try to be as simple as possible and if they get very
technical than it would be difficult for a non-mature Christian to
understand scriptures. Like a Pastor told me if you preach this depth
people will stop coming to Church. It is sad but this is the truth of
Christianity today. It is good that translations are simple so people
understand but this has also caused Christians not to grow in understanding.

The Lord is telling us who are earthly will have earthly understanding
of His Kingdom and those who are Heavenly with have true spiritual
understanding of His Kingdom.

Earthly Christianity is a religion and Heavenly Christianity is not. Let
us not be earthly Christians following a religion of vanity. True
Christianity is eternal for it is all about having life eternal and
natural things are not eternal. Eternal life is possible only if we have
access to Heaven, so if we do not forsake and die to the natural, we
will not see the spiritual Heaven and thus not have access to eternity.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord your people today are like the Israelites who came out of Egypt.
Even after they suffered at the hands of the vanity (Egyptians), saw
your glory and drawn out yet they desired to go back to where they came
from. They make idols and gods like that of the Egyptians and worshipped
them. Lord, to come to You we are called to die to ourselves and to the
desires of this world. We pray we do not hold to these desires and thus
loose our entry to Eternity...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Baptism of John

Acts 19: 3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And
they said, Unto John's baptism.

In the Bible we do not see any place that God told John (the Baptist /
Baptizer) to dip people in water and get them to be baptized, also note
John was not baptizing people in the name of Jesus Christ but baptizing
them with the baptism of repentance. It was this baptism of repentance
which we call today as water baptism.

We see in Believer Churches today any new person comes the first thing
they are asked is if they have taken water baptism. I have heard many
Preachers preaching regarding baptism as being immersed in water, dying
and coming alive in Christ; before I too used to preach the same.

This statement might shake many - One cannot be baptized in Jesus Christ
to receive Christ unless one is water baptized, but getting water
baptism does not necessary mean receiving Christ.

You may say but bro water baptism is being baptized in Jesus Christ.
Water baptism is the baptism of repentance and without baptism of
repentance one cannot be baptism in Jesus Christ. Water baptism was one
of the many symbolic ways in which the Jews did baptism of repentance.
It was John who chose water baptism to proclaim repentance among the
Jews (that is why his name was John the Baptizer) and it was Jesus's
taking water baptism to fulfill prophecy (the symbol and not as
repentance) that has made water baptism famous.

Like Baptism of the Holy Spirit has no ritual or tradition so also
Baptism in Jesus Christ also has no symbolic ritual or tradition, but
baptism of repentance does. When we call people for water baptism it is
for baptism of repentance and when we get them to repent we get them
ready to receive Jesus Christ. When we baptize a person with water
baptism in the name of Jesus Christ we need to tell them more about the
baptism of repentance first and then baptism in Jesus Christ. People who
are get water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ without the baptism
of repentance will not receive the promise of salvation in Jesus Christ
for none can come to Him without the baptism of repentance.

Any person, who does not need baptism of repentance, does not need
Christ. Like exchanging of rings does not get two persons married but it
is their coming together to form a family that does, so also water
baptism is symbolic to repentance. We do not read of the twelve Apostles
taking water baptism or of Jesus water baptizing anyone, but they all
did encourage others to be water baptized. During those days they very
well knew what water baptism was, today people are not. Let us not get
people water baptized without baptism of repentance for such a baptism
is meaningless. Let us first lead them to repentance so that they
receive Christ and His promise of salvation.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are Holy and Righteous God and no one can come to You without
repentance for none were and are found righteous. We all have failed and
fallen short and it is You alone who lifts us and makes us a new
creation. You have called us to be born-again in spirit and for that the
existing has to die. Lord we pray in repentance the old dies so that a
new is born in us...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be
any Holy Spirit.

3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said,
Unto John's baptism.

4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance,
saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should
come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on
them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Faith; putting it to action

Luke 17:14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves
unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were

We see Preachers always talk of the faith of many other characters in
the Bible but very few talk of the faith of these 10 lepers.

In the OT we see like AIDs was some time back (until people were
educated on it) more worse was leprosy. Anyone who had leprosy would
have to declare they were unclean and thus while moving around in public
places they had to keep shouting a unclean person is passing by. In OT
Jerusalem we see most of them had to live outside city limits in the
valley that surrounded it. The person who declared them clean or unclean
was not a doctor or physician but a priest. He would look at the patches
according to the book of Leviticus chapter 13 and then declare if it was
leprosy or not, and according to the law to be declared clean they had
to also go and show themselves to the priest (in actual God was not
referring to the natural sickness but spiritual sickness of

We see when Jesus heard them crying for healing by asking for mercy, He
told them to go and show themselves to the priest. Scriptures says
nothing happened to them when Jesus told them to do that yet they went.
Now imagine, they going to a priest in an unclean state, surely the
priest would be very upset and at those times the priest had great
powers, like that of a statesman, what they said was law.

The faith of these lepers was so strong that they did not wait to see a
change but yet went to show themselves to the priest believing they will
have their healing. It was on their way as they were traveling to show
themselves to the priest that their situation changed; they got healed
as they were traveling.

Today the Lord is telling those who are suffering from aliments of the
body to believe in their healing and they will see their healing come.
You may not see any symptoms but your faith will cause them to be
visible. However critical or long may be the history of your ailment,
your faith is greater; for your faith is based on the one for whom
nothing is impossible.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord we thank You Lord for the declaration of healing of our bodies, we
know Lord nothing is impossible for You. We pray we have faith like
those lepers to believe and receive. Help us take the step of faith and
to receive our healing...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Luke 17:12-14

12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that
were lepers, which stood afar off:

13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy
on us.

14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the
priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

Who is a Zionist?

Obadiah 1: 21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the
mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD'S.

We see Muslims love to call Jews as Zionist and have made it like a mock
name. Some of them even go on to call the western countries as Zionist.
If only the Muslims know what the term means they would not use it.

To find meaning of Biblical terms one needs to mostly go to the Hebrew
word and its root. In Hebrew the word 'Tsiyown' means "parched place" a
place that is thirsty. If one goes to its root word 'tsiyuwn' which
means a 'signpost' or 'monument' or 'market', so Zion basically means a
place of thirst (desire) and of great importance. Some theologians also
render the word Mount Zion as 'sunny mountain' instead of 'thirsty

The first utilization of the word is in 2 Samuel 5:6 when David captured
Jerusalem from Jebusites we see it is called Zion and also City of
David. The book of Samuel called ancient Jerusalem as Zion because it
was like a naturally fortified city surrounded by valleys / ravines on
all sides leaving for the north side. Jerusalem does not have any
mountain; it is built on a rocky plateau which has two hills. Solomon
built walls around Jerusalem and made it a modern fortified city. These
walls have a history of being broken and rebuild and so much are the
sentiments of Jews to it that they pray at this wall (a section of which
that stands even today) with their hand bond physically in a leather
strap (while scriptures have a spiritual rendering), thus making it as
idol worship (like Muslims do at the Kaaba taking seven rounds around it
and end of every round kiss the black meteorite emulating the actions of

If we look at the word Zion it has been used rendering in various ways
literally (thirsty), historically (fortified), geographically
(surrounded by valleys) and spiritually (desiring the Lord). In today's
message which is a prophecy we see the word is spiritually used. It
speaks of the saved (saviors) coming to Mount Zion (thirsty mountain -
pinnacle of spiritual thirst) to judge the mount of Esau (which means
hairy - symbolizing grace) and this event causes the coming of the
Kingdom of the Lord.

This will be tough for many to digest 'grace saves us but grace does not
take us to Heaven'. Grace is like a hand of a parent which holds up an
infant and protects it from falling. But Kingdom of God is not for
infants or children; it is for Sons of God. We (collectively) are called
to mature in spirit and become Sons of God.

Today we see most Churches are primarily based on principle of grace
(abundant grace), they have this concept whatever they do God
understands and will forgive. They forget some of the characteristics
(Names) of God is 'slow to anger' and 'righteous'. If God is always
forgiving then how could He be righteous or slow to anger? No doubt God
is merciful but His mercy cannot be taken for granted. There will come a
time He will account His mercy / grace.

Today's message tells us as we spiritually thirst more for the Lord we
will less depend on His grace. Thirsting for the Lord means having more
of Him in us that is filling ourselves with His understanding and His
nature. The message tells us the day we (collectively) do we will
overcome grace and His Kingdom will come.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are a Merciful God and at the same time You are Righteous and
Holy God. We pray Lord we do not take your mercy / grace for granted and
we grow in spirit by increasing our thirst for You and things of your

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the

Uncool Paul

2 Corinthians 11: 6Even if I am unskilled in speaking, I am not so in
knowledge; indeed, in every way we have made this plain to you in all

Christians admire Paul and look up to him but what is interesting is if
Paul was alive today probably he would not have got a chance to preach
even in Churches.

You may be surprised at this comment but that is as fact. Paul was one
of the most knowledgeable in the scriptures and yet he had a great
problem in preaching. He lacked the skill as an orator; he could not
hold the attention of the group for long. In his initial stage Acts
records one of his long preaching where a person sitting on the window
dosed off and fell from a height and died. Paul managed to bring back to
life. Also in his first letter to Corinth Paul seems very upset since
the Corinthians were comparing his preaching to that of Timothy who was
discipled by Paul. In today's message taken from Paul's second letter to
the Believers of Corinth Paul acknowledges his lack of skill in preaching.

It was only the Church of Corinth which complained on this deficiency in
Paul and no other Church did. Corinth was the most un-disciple Church
that struggled between worldly ways and ways of the Kingdom of God this
we know from Paul's letter to them.

Some years back I was part of a team on outreach mission in the remote
parts of Maharashtra. There was a young Evangelist Preacher, main
preacher of this team who was asked on the stage to say a spontaneous
prayer to the crowd. He did say the prayer but was visibly disturbed,
later I saw him complaining to the announcer as to why he was not told
in advance to prepare for the prayer. I came to know he practices his
preaching like a stage actor practices for a drama. He is a favorite
among the youth here in India.

Today in Church we have many good Preachers but sadly they are just good
orators, skilled in preaching. A brother told one such preacher 'brother
why do you warm yesterday's chapatti (Indian bread) and feed us, we want
to eat something fresh'; this upset the preacher very much and
disconnected from the brother. Sadly the preacher did not change and
even after 8 to 10 years he preaches the same thing and still manages to
pull large crowds.

Young Preachers are so taken up by TV Evangelists that they copy not
only the vocal style of these Evangelist but also the way of walking and
the theatrical that is done on the stage.

Orator skill is like the dressing of the dish it helps attract people to
the topic and also helps hold their attention but if the actual dish is
unhealthy and unedifying, we are feeding people dressing only.

Many Churches as full today for people come for blessings (worldly),
healings and to hear what they want to hear or what they already know.
They love Preachers who are good orators but do not give the hard Truth.
If Churches preach the Truth many of them will see people leaving the
Church, but then we will have genuine Christians. It will be these
genuine Christians who will glorify God and quicken His Kingdom on earth.

Let us know other than Evangelist there are others in the Body of Christ
like Apostle who can disciple people in Christ, a Teacher who can
strengthen their understanding, also Healers and Administrators
(Bishops). All are needed to play different roles and bring the complete
growth of the Church.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are God and You alone are God. Your Kingdom is not of this
world for your Kingdom is eternal and this world is temporary. We pray
Lord we seek your Kingdom more than this world and the pleasures of this
world. We pray Lord the Preachers edify your people and build your
people in You. We pray that Church stop being crests or theaters and
becoming hospitals and training centers where the weak are made strong
and strong trained to go out and reach to the lost...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Acts 20:9And there sat in the window a certain young man named Eutychus,
borne down with deep sleep; and as Paul discoursed yet longer, being
borne down by his sleep he fell down from the third story, and was taken
up dead.

1 Corinthians 2:4And my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive
words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

2 Corinthians 10:8-10

8For though I should glory somewhat abundantly concerning our authority
(which the Lord gave for building you up, and not for casting you down),
I shall not be put to shame:

9that I may not seem as if I would terrify you by my letters.

10For, His letters, they say, are weighty and strong; but his bodily
presence is weak, and his speech of no account.

2 Timothy 4:5But be thou sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the
work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry.

There is no passive Christianity

Matthew 3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees:
therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down,
and cast into the fire.

Christians as made to understand sin as something dirty like a stain
because Acts 22:16 says 'wash away your sins'. So people think just
getting forgiveness for one's sins is sufficient.

People have a very wrong concept that just forgiveness of sins will get
man to go to Heaven. If it was just forgiveness of sins that was
required then the Lord need not have given us His Spirit, after
resurrection Jesus would not have had to go to Heaven so that He would
make way for His Spirit to work amongst man. Imagine the work and
conversion Jesus would have done had He remained appearing on earth
amongst man even today. The whole world would have been Christian and
there would have not been any religion. But then that would not have
fulfilled the purpose God made man.

God made man to be light in the darkness to be an overcomer. Just being
clean does not make one to be a light. One needs to have the Fruits of
the Holy Spirit to become a light in the darkness.

Satan (plural) is called Anti-Christ and not Anti-God. He hates the
plans of God through Christ because he knows it is through Christ that
man will one day show him what he is and cause him to receive what is
due to him.

There is nothing like passive Christian, a person who does not do any
wrong such a person may be good in the eyes of the people of the world
but for Christ a person is called His disciple when he or she follows or
does what He did. Jesus Christ as man was not passive but active.

Let us understand unless we do the Will of the Father we are not really
Christians and for that we need to step out of our comfort zone and
reach out to lost souls.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord we pray your sheep may understand that to remain part of the flock
of You the Good Shepherd they need to on the move spiritually, by
remaining in one place they would be left out of the flock. We pray Lord
every Christian be an active Christian shining your Light among mankind...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Acts 22:16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash
away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

John 7:38-39

38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him
shall flow rivers of living water.

39But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were
to receive: for the Spirit was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet

John 16:13-16

13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into
all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things
soever he shall hear, these shall he speak: and he shall declare unto
you the things that are to come.

14He shall glorify me: for he shall take of mine, and shall declare it
unto you.

15All things whatsoever the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that
he taketh of mine, and shall declare it unto you.

16A little while, and ye behold me no more; and again a little while,
and ye shall see me.

John 16:33These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have
peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have
overcome the world.

overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they that
are with him, called and chosen and faithful.

Who has the right to judge?

John 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and
said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a
stone at her.

We all consider that God will judge mankind in the end for this is what
is indoctrinated in our minds from the beginning. Another factor
indoctrinated in people is that judgment is done as and when a person
dies. Are these Biblical? Today we will see the first point for we are
always told man is not worthy to judge since he is a sinner.

If we study manuscripts we find the verses John 8:1-11 incident of the
adulterous woman is not there in the earlier manuscripts but found in
later. Similarly the verse Matthew 17:21 also is another verse which was
added later. It is this reason that some of the new translations of
Bibles like NIV are skipping the verses which were not found in the
older manuscripts.

In these scriptures we see the strong beliefs of the early Church [after
the Apostles] are induced into the Gospels. All this happened around 100
to 200 years after the Apostles. Technically they may not be wrong but
the problem lies in the importance they give to their belief which has
caused many to be misled.

It is true sinner man cannot judge for one who is in darkness cannot
show the way. But those in the light can surely show the way, so those
who are in Christ can judge but they are to judge according to the light
(Word) and not according to their understanding or feelings. Judging is
connected with spiritual maturity.

Jesus tells us it pleased the Father to put Him on the Judgment Seat for
He is the Son of Man. He did not say Son of God or God the Son but He
clearly says Son of Man. Even in Revelation the one seated on the
Judgment Throne is identified as Son of Man and not God or Son of God
[the Son]. This Man is also described as having the rainbow around Him
which is a characteristic of Christ [the seven Spirits of God - Holy
Spirit]. We know the Lord Jesus Christ will be seated on the Judgment
Seat on Judgment Day but He will not judge as Lord but as man. Jesus
says even though He is seated in the Judgment Seat yet it is the words
which He spoke [the Father's Will] which will judge mankind.

Jesus and Paul in some scriptures tell us not to judge but yet in other
scriptures they question why we cannot discern, which is again judging.
So we are not to judge in personal capacity but are called to discern
things through the Word of God. We are not to decide the fate of people
for we do not know our own fate when we stand before the Judgment Seat.
Jesus says if we judge people's fate our own will be at risk.

If we see throughout scriptures OT and NT God has always put man in the
judgment seat ever since man rejected God as king. So at the end also
God will make a Son of Man [the Prince of Kings] judge us, and this Son
of Man is Christ.

Jesus Christ as man was without sin and yet He Himself who has been
given the authority to judge say He will not judge but the Word will
judge so who are we to judge people? But like Jesus we too are called to
judge not according to our understanding or our instincts but according
to the Word.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord we pray we be led in the Spirit and not in the flesh; your Word
says that only those who are led in Spirit become Sons of God. Judging
and discerning are not things given to children but to the mature. Lord
we pray we do not walk like blind people not discerning anything nor
judging the motives and works of worldly men and that of the evil ones...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Matthew 17:21Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Luke 6:37Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye
shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

Colossians 2:16-17

16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of
an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Luke 12:56-57

56Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth;
but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

57Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

John 7:24Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous

Ezekiel 22:2Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the
bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.

John 8:15-16

15Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

16And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and
the Father that sent me.

John 8:26I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent
me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

John 5:22-27

22For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto
the Son:

23That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He
that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

24Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth
on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when
the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear
shall live.

26For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to
have life in himself;

27And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is
the Son of man.

1 Corinthians 4:5Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord
come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and
will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man
have praise of God.

1 Corinthians 6:2-4

2Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world
shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that
pertain to this life?

4If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them
to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

Ending one's life

Jonah 1:12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the
sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this
great tempest is upon you.

In today's scripture we see Jonah knew he was the cause of endangering
the lives of others in the ship. Jonah desired to save their lives, now
Jonah could have easily jumped off the ship himself and saved the lives
of the others but he did not, Jonah instead asked them to take the call
of throwing him in the dangerous sea to die and saving themselves.

Jonah was a Man of God who spoke to God and to whom God spoke. Jonah
knew out of his hatred to the Assyrians (Nineveh was the capital of the
Assyrian kingdom) he was running in the opposite direction. Scripture
says Jonah went from the presence of the Lord. Jonah was a Man of God
who knew the Omnipresence Lord, what he was running away from was the
will of God. God wanted to use Jonah to bring the message repentance to
the people of Assyria, but Jonah being an Israelite remembered the
suffering that the Israelites suffered at the hands of the Assyrians
thus he wanted them to be punished and not saved. For just an
understanding it would be easier for an Israelite today to love a Nazi
then for an Israelite at that time to love an Assyrian. The kind of
suffering the Israelites suffered at the hands of the Assyrian would
make Hitler a kindergarten student [Hitler was a Catholic who hated Jews
at that time and he was inspired by the Assyrians; Catholic and Jewish
relationship changed only during World War II].

Only people, who do not know life and what awaits them after death,
think of ending it. There are Christians who think since they believe in
the Lord Jesus Christ they can end their lives any time and they will
still go to Heaven. Jonah was a Man of God who spoke to the Lord as a
man spoke to another and he knew the value and purpose of life on earth
[the Lord spoke to the Prophets through visions or they heard His
audible voice].

Our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior cancels the curse of
Hell in our lives and enables us to go to Heaven. That means if I
believe (keep believing) in the Lord Jesus Christ, irrespective of my
sins I am saved from Hell; but then that does not mean I get a green
ticket to Heaven, it just means that the doors of Heaven which were
closed to me before are now open. To go to Heaven I need to abide in the
Will / Word of God which can be done only with the help of the Holy
Spirit. Bible says those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ become
children of God [John 1:12] but then Bible says only those who are led
by the Holy Spirit become Sons of God [Romans 8:14]. When Jesus was
asked of how one could enter the Kingdom of God He did not say 'believe
in me and you will enter the Kingdom', He said one need to be born from
above / remolded in spirit and to do that one would need to be baptized
in the Holy Spirit and to receive the Holy Spirit one needs to be
baptized in Jesus Christ [since He paid the price for us to receive His
Spirit]. So to enter Heaven we need to be baptized both in Jesus Christ
and His Spirit.

Let me explain this in a simple way. We are like filthy vessels that are
washed clean when we believe in the Name of the Lord Jesus' Christ. We
are saved from Hell for we are marked as children of God / His flock so
as long as we believe in Christ we are saved. Now after that how we use
this vessel will define our going to Heaven, if we use it as a dustbin
[filled with worldly pleasures] or as a treasure box [having the Will of
God in us]. If we die on the spot of our baptism in Christ we would go
the Heaven for we have not used the vessel as a dustbin, but we may not
be rich in Heaven.

Jonah was in the Lord and yet he did not end his life himself for he
knew it would go against the will of God and thus he would endanger his
entering Heaven.

Christianity does not support Jihadi ideas where a person can end his or
her life shouting the Lord's name or doing the Lord's work. Such
Christians in fact may get their names removed from the Book of Life.
Dying a martyr does not mean killing oneself in the name of the Lord.
There is only one incident in the Bible where a person killed himself
and yet was accepted by the Lord as a martyr and saved from Hell and
that was King Saul.

King Saul lost the battle and knew if he was caught alive the
Philistines would crucify and mock him until his death. Saul did not
fear death but just because he considered himself a Man of God once upon
a time [before the Spirit of God left him] he respected himself. He did
not want the Philistines to disrespect him so he first asked his shield
bearer to kill him but when the shield bearer refused Saul fell on his
sword and killed himself. We know he was saved because when Samuel spoke
to him Saul told him that today Saul and his sons would join Samuel
where he was. We also see even though the Spirit of God had left Saul
yet David considered him an anointed Man of God and did not dare to
touch his life, he even killed the man who falsely claimed to kill Saul.

Let us understand the purpose of the life which Lord has given us. If we
do not respect this purpose can we say we fulfilled the Will of the
Father? If we do not fulfill the Will of the Father can we be confident
to enter Heaven on Judgment Day? We do not have to fear death for our
life and death is in the hand of God. Dying a martyr does not mean to
die for the Lord but means to be killed for the Lord's Name. Our purpose
alive is to save souls for the Lord and work as soldiers of the Kingdom
of God; we need to always remember an alive soldier is better than a
thousand dead.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Creator and Almighty God. You alone have life eternal
within yourself and this You have given this ability to only to your Son
our Lord. We Lord are made by You and have life for a period but You
have made it possible for us to live eternally in Heaven through the
Tree of Life. You Lord are the giver of Life and You alone have the
right to take it away. Lord we pray your people realize that taking
one's own life would amount to rejecting your Will and thus can
disqualify us from entering your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

John 1:2But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons [children] of God, even to them that believe on his name:

sons [Sons] of God.

Touching and healing

Mark 3:10For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for
to touch him, as many as had plagues.

Today's scripture says Jesus healed many people and this drove the
people crazy that all wanted to get healed so everyone started touching
Him. It is written as many touched Him were healed and delivered.

Question is does one need to touch to heal?

If not, then why are we told to lay hands to heal?

For that we need to understand what heals.

It is mercy of God that heals. We can get this mercy by praying to God.
But Bible says God has mercy of whom He desires and does not on whom He
desires. So praying is no guaranty for getting healed. Those who lack
faith can keep praying and praying continually and may get healed, like
the old woman who pleaded with the judge continually and was given
relief. But it is written in the next verse when the Son of Man comes
will He find faith?

Another way of getting mercy is faith. Faith draws mercy so when we have
faith we automatically draw mercy, so we do not need to plead to God for
mercy. As faith grows and becomes authority we not only get assured of
healing, we can command healings. Jesus was a man of authority thus He
healed people. When we peak healings into people's lives we are
commanding healings and thus not exercising faith but exercising authority.

When we touch people we increase faith and it is faith that causes
healing. Another way of healing the Bible says is by applying olive oil.
It does not suggest using actual olive oil but olive oil symbolizes
testimony. Sharing testimony increases faith and thus heals people.
Another way of increasing faith which most Preachers use is preaching or
worshiping God. When people hear preachings of encouragement or when
they worship God in spirit their faith increases very much and thus
brings in healings. Bible shows people getting healed by dipping
themselves in a river, touching objects, applying oil and even by the
falling of shadows. It was none of the objects that caused healings but
it was faith that caused healing. Healings can be permanent or
temporary. Faith in God causes permanent healing but faith in Man of God
may not. Bible says whom the Son sets free indeed. We a good example of
this is when Jesus healed 10 lepers, but only one was made whole.

When we understand sin and sickness and how they are related, then we
will understand how faith healings happen. It is from the spirit that
the healing is manifested into the flesh.

Like touching, testimony increases faith and brings healings likewise
faithlessness can block healings even if the faith of the healer is
exercised or the healer is a man of authority, that is why Jesus could
not heal people in some cities/towns. In these places we see Jesus
healed by applying spit, mud and part by part healing to as to destroy
their faithlessness by doing silly things [some Preachers unknowingly
use this approach too, like one used to hit people where they needed
healing later he realized his mistake when his wife died of sickness].

Faith that comes from understanding the Word not only heals but also
prevents sickness in those areas. Maturity in spirit builds immunity
both of the body as well in the spirit and inner-man.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are our creator and God. All life is from You Lord. We pray
Lord your people understand life and understand how being far from You
can bring sickness and spiritual problems. Lord we pray we increase in
faith, faith in You and your Word so that we are more and more immune to
sickness and spiritual problems...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Knowing the Kingdom of God and Jesus

Acts 28:23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him
into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God,
persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out
of the prophets, from morning till evening.

I have a close relationship with the Lord yet at times the Lord does not
fail to surprise me. He shows Himself like someone moving around with me
and instructing me in the things I did or will do.

Since a few days a large group of Apologists (many among them are
theologians) were in discussion of understanding in deeper depths of who
God is. Yesterday I was discussing with them on the God the Son and they
were so impatient to conclude it in a short time only a very few were

Like I said before I do not choose the message for the day but pray and
get it on randomly selection with the understanding of Urim and the
Thummim which were in the breastplate of the high priest and by which
the Lord spoke.

In today's message we see Paul spend hours explaining about the Kingdom
of God and about Jesus and that too not to ordinary people but to
religious chiefs of the Jews. For a person to become a rabbi or priest
one needed to spend years studying scriptures and working as intern
under another person in that field [they followed Samuel's system of
school of Prophets but Jesus became a rabbi according to the system of
Moses by fasting 40 days in the wilderness]. So these people were
seasoned in scriptures and in traditions. Note they knew the language in
which the scriptures were written, they did not study translations as we
do. Yet it is written Paul spend hours and hours with them expounding
scriptures to them. Yet it is written at the end some understood and
accepted, while others did not so rejected. It is interesting after this
the prophecy of Isaiah is written as to why those who did not understand
will not understand.

It is very say that today we have Christians who want the Gospel in 2
lines and the summary of the Bible in 10 lines.

Our God is neither a poor God nor His Kingdom so cheap that it can be
understood in 10 lines. Paul was the most knowledgeable person at that
time even then Paul knew what he knew was just a glimpse of the Truth
and there was a lot more to learn and understand (also note there were
many things that Paul knew which he did not write / speak out).

Other than miniaturizing God and His Kingdom we have another problem
that is of being satisfied in spirit but being thirsty in the flesh. The
Lord said to be thirsty in the spirit not in the flesh. The living water
(understanding that comes from God) satisfies our that thirst forever,
but creates a new thirst to know something new which we were not aware
existed at that time. So a Man or Woman of God will always be in thirst
but his or her thirst will not be the same thirst that was before, for
when God gives us understanding it is perfect understanding that is forever.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Omnipotent and Almighty God and You nor your Kingdom is
comprehensible. Lord we pray we do not try to put Christianity in a
matchbox. Let us approach it like a horizon which as we reach to it, it
exposes new and greater things and moves further. Lord your Word says
when the Truth is whole in us we will be set free from sin and death the
things You have created us to overcome. We pray for passion, endurance
along with patience...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Exodus 28:30 And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim
and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in
before the LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of
Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually.

Acts 28:17-27

17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of
the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them,
Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or
customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into
the hands of the Romans.

18Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there
was no cause of death in me.

19But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto
Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.

20For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to
speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this

21And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea
concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake
any harm of thee.

22But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning
this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into
his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God,
persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out
of the prophets, from morning till evening.

24And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

25And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that
Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the
prophet unto our fathers,

26Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall
not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

27For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull
of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with
their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart,
and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Temple, Church or classroom

Luke 21:37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at
night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of

We see throughout the Bible Jesus did come to the temple but His purpose
was not that of the others. He came so that He could meet the people and
reach out to them He never came to the temple to reach out to God His
Father. Whenever He needed to communicate to the Father or be ministered
by Angels He went out into an isolated place.

Yesterday a few brothers were in discussion about the Hindi word for
'Church' and most said 'mandir'. Mandir means temple and refers to the
monument or structure. If one tries to translate the word 'Church' in
languages of people who do not know God one will most probably make
mistakes for they will equate it to their belief or understanding. For
the Jews also who were and are far from God we see the same issue, for
them too temple was and is the structure but for Jesus it was a class
room where He was a teacher. When it was a Sabbath Jesus went to the
temple to take opportunity to reach out to the people there, later as
Jesus became known through the land people came on normal week days to
hear Him. He did not need to run after them, they came to Him.

When God gave the design of the Tabernacle it was in a tent not a
permanent structure. The Greek word for tabernacle comes from two word
'vessel' and 'shadow'. Paul says our body symbolizes a tent, a tent
since it is a temporary residence.

As Christians we all are told we need to be part of a Church and be
rooted in the [local] Church. People are expected to be present every
Sunday service or the day of service however mature they may be as

Is Church a place where God is there? No

God is everywhere but Church is the place where one experience the
presence of God and it is when people come together and worship Him. It
is the people and their worshipping God that causes them to experience
the presence of the glory of God.

Does everyone need to go to Church to experience God? No

When a person is grown in the Lord he or she will experience God
anywhere and everywhere, and does not need a gathering to do so. A
mature person should go to Church for the people to encourage them, to
minister to them, to give and not to receive from God. The things a
spiritually mature person receives in Church are fellowship of the
people, their love, their support, their encouragement and joy to see
the fruit of their work.

Like Jesus [as man] those who are truly mature in the Lord come to
Church to give and not to receive, for them Church is a gathering of
people whom they need to build in the Lord.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You desire we all be one like You are one. You also desire we make
our feeble parts strong for feeble parts can hinder us to enter the
Kingdom of Heaven. We pray we understand the importance of the oneness
and we understand how important it is to build others in You. Lord we
pray we also understand in the start You send the Apostles in twos but
when they received the Holy Spirit and were baptized in Him, they moved
around alone and gathered people to themselves and nurtured them in You.
We pray we follow them for they followed You and your Word...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Exodus 35:11The tabernacle, his tent, and his covering, his taches, and
his boards, his bars, his pillars, and his sockets,

Exodus 39:32Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the
congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all
that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.

Jeremiah 35:7Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant
vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that
ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.

Hebrews 11:9By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a
foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of
the same promise.

2 Corinthians 5:1For we know that if the tent, which is our earthly
home, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with
hands, eternal in the heavens.

2 Corinthians 5:4For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being
burdened - not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further
clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

The Last Supper - Breaking of Bread

Luke 22:11And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master
saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the
passover with my disciples?

Breaking of bread is done is almost every mainstream Christian Church
yet it is hard to find any Church that actually does it. Every Church or
denomination will have their own understanding on this. I have seen
sweet buns with tutti-frutti been broken in the Lord's name, some use
Indian bread (chappati) and break it in the Lord's name. There are some
who use wafer and some who use cake (bread baked or made with oil).

The Catholic Church uses wafer as communion and this they introduced it
in 1200AD, before that they used normal bread. The mischief was not just
replacing the bread with wafer but they gave it a shape and embedded it
with designs which are questionable. The stand on which this wafer
(communion) is put on gives you the feeling they are worshipping the Sun
and not Christ. Sun worship in name of Christ is visible even in other
traditions of this church. Some of the Believer Churches feel Breading
of Bread is too sacred so they have it once a month or even once a year.

To understand what Breaking of the Bread is we need to understand two
things one what Jesus and His disciples celebrated that day and another
is the sacrifice of guilt which Jesus claimed it to be while sharing the
bread. Paul too explains this it in his letter to Corinthians.

Let us understand what kind of feast that they were celebrating. This
was not the main Passover but was start of the week the Feast of
Unleavened Bread which was supposed to be celebrated the week after the
Passover week but was celebrated together ever since the Jews were in
exile in Babylon. They did this since they did not have the freedom to
have long celebrations. You will find 3 Gospel go along with what they
did and one with what they were supposed to do. Jesus did not break the
law by celebrating the feast of Unleavened Bread before the Passover
since He was the Paschal Lamb.

Christians think it was the Passover because of Luke 22:7 which is
inaccurately translated. If one looks up BYZ or BGT manuscripts text one
will find it is not 'then came the day [period] of unleavened bread,
when the passover must be killed', the text says 'came then the day
[period] of unleavened bread, in which the passover must be killed'. The
feast of Unleavened Bread was not a day feast but was a week feast and
that day was the first day of the feast. Matthew 26:17, Mark 14:1, Mark
14:12 and Luke 22:1 also confirms this. In John 19:14 it says Jesus was
crucified on the day the Paschal lamb was killed. Jesus was the Paschal
Lamb of God that took away our sins and He fulfilled every condition as
stated in the books of Moses, one of them was the lamb was bought into
the house and kept under observation for 5 days. Jesus was arrested on
the start of the week of the Feast of Unleavened Bread / Passover. He
was taken from place to place and beaten for about 5 days both by the
Jews and the Romans before He was crucified. It was the Romans who
really bruised Him and tore His flesh from His bones. The Jews whipped
with a normal whip and the Romans did with the multi strand whip which
had bone and metal tied at its ends.

To understand the type of bread we need to understand the 4 types of
bread that are written in the Bible [Exodus 29:23]. We cannot take
leavened bread, wafer or cake (baked with oil) and say it is unleavened
bread even though they are counted as bread. The basic requirement was
it had to be bread and secondly it did not have yeast, any leavening
agent or baked with oil. This is a statutes and it is done for
understanding what we are doing. If we do not break bread at the Lord's
Table we do not become sinner but when we do the right way as instructed
we will understand who Christ is. Like in Luke 24:30-31 which says when
Jesus broke bread and gave them their eyes opened and they came to know Him.

The Bread also stands as a sacrifice of Guilt which meant for sins which
are done unintentionally or without knowing. It is by this understanding
Paul tries to explain to approach the table in a worthy manner for how
we can ask for forgiveness for sins unknown when we have not repented
and asked for sins which are known. This is like mocking the sacrifice
and that is why many have fallen sick and died.

Let us do all things with understand. Christianity is not into
traditions which are things blindly followed, Christianity has statutes
which are things done with understanding and once the understanding
comes the doing is not necessary.Christianity is all about spirituality
and everything is rooted in unseen even if it manifests in the seen.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord Your Word says that Daily Sacrifice would be taken away for many
years and we see Lord this prophecy is true. Even though people do
things yet they do not do it as instructed and thus do something else
and still desire results. Lord your people are filling themselves with
leaven and thus do not know You. They are bringing worldly understanding
into the Word thus do not know the Word. We pray they not only
physically but spiritually also eat unleavened bread at your table...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Matthew 26:17Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the
disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we

the Passover.

their sight.

Exodus 12:15Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day

4And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his
neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the
souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

5Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall
take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

6And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and
the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the

Matthew 24:45-50

ninth hour.

Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou
forsaken me?

47Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man
calleth for Elias.

48And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with
vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

49The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

Master calleth thee

Mark 10:49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they
call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth

We would find it normal that Bartimaeus was shouting out to Jesus so Jesus
called him unto him. It is only when we get into details we understand
things better.

We see Bartimaeus was shouting out to Jesus as ‘Son of David have mercy on
me’, by this he was acknowledging a prophecy which was given to David of a
king whose kingdom would be forever. Firstly Bartimaeus was not a Jew by
his name we know he was a Roman. So for him to acknowledge Jesus as Son of
David was exceptional.

We see even though Jesus could hear Bartimaeus shout yet Jesus did not
shout back but asked His disciples to bring him. It is written ‘they’
called out to him. It was not that they all shouted to him. If they had to
shout any one of them would do that. It is written ‘they’ because it was
like a chain calling. One asked the other to call him. You may wonder why I
am getting into this detail. Every word in the Bible has purpose and makes
us learn the hidden things of the Kingdom of God.

They were in Jericho and it was only when a historian described the way
this city was made that I could understand this little details including
why God bought the walls of the city down at the shout of Joshua (his army
and got every person killed leaving for Rahab and her family).

This city was the main city of the Moabites and it was because of them
thousands of Israelites had died due to plague. Moses in his song after
crossing the Red sea acknowledges the Moabites as might men. The Moabites
were famous for defeating a tribe of giants whom they called Emims
(terror). The Lord took the Israelites on a churning (testimony) trip and
built the second generation (leaving for Joshua and Caleb) and made them
battle ready to confront the Moabites. The lord made them so strong for
battle that the Moabites feared them. He also made them spiritually which
can be seen by the fact that none spoke a word or uttered a sound for 7
days even while they marched around the walls. It was only when Joshua
commanded they shouted and the walls fell.

The Lord could have got them into the city in many other ways like He got
the spies in and out. But the Lord personally became instrument to being
the walls down. The historian explained there were two parallel walls that
protected Jericho and between these walls the city had built various
temples of various gods (they were unified like the tower of Babel which
was also a common temple). When one studied what they did as sacrifice in
these temples one would understand the wrath of God on them for not sparing
any soul.

During the time of Jesus these people had rebuild the city, its walls along
with its temples. Even though the Romans ruled this city yet the people did
their old things and the Romans were party to it. Jericho was a rich man’s
city and the area between the walls were like outside city limits but still
under protection, so beggars and exiled criminals dwelled in this place
where the temples existed.

Bartimaeus (he was son of a senior Roman officer Timaeus) was a Roman who
was made blind as a punishment and was exiled, so he dwelled between these
walls. When Bartimaeus was shouting Jesus was aware of His surroundings.
Jesus was aware of the temples around and thus did not shout back but by
word of mouth called Bartimaeus unto Him. Was Jesus becoming secular of
respecting other beliefs?

Understands other gods do not exist, so break idols, temples or insulting
people and their beliefs does not help the lost people it only makes them
harder. By the power of God people do not change, it is only when they see
the glory of God through the Spirit of God that they change. Seven
symbolizes the Holy Spirit (seven Spirits of God) and it is only through
the Holy Spirit only we can change people (Joshua and his army marched for
seven days around Jericho’s walls).

You may have heard many testimonies of people accepting Christ just for a
simple scripture which we may have not dreamt could i.e. the son of Hamas
leader who was president of their youth wing changed and accepted Christ
just by the scripture where Christ said ‘forgive your enemies’. It did not
take great theology to change him; it was the Holy Spirit who did it.

We are called to battle in the spirit and not in the flesh so let not human
words do the battle. Let the right words at the right time, led by the Holy
Spirit do the job. Let us be shut and speak in the Lord’s time to bring the
spiritual walls down permanently and destroy the plans of the enemy in the
life of those lost.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, there are times we see right and wrong and we in the flesh try to
battle the wrong but instead harden people. We may try to call it holy
anger but anything that does not bring good result cannot be called holy.
You God are Holy and everything of You brings good result. We pray Lord we
learn to sync according to your timing and not our timing...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Joshua 6:1-10, 20-24

Numbers 22:4-6

4 And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up
all that are round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field.
And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.

5 He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor,
which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call
him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they
cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me:

6 Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too
mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and
that I may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest
is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed.

The city and the temple

Daniel 9:26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off,
but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall
destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a
flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Today you talk of any Christian and chances are 9 out of 10 would be
supporters of Israel. Ask them why as Christians they are staunch
supports of a Jewish country? They will answer because the Bible says
so. They will point to scriptures concerning the promise to the Jewish
nation and how at the end Israel comes in glory with its twelve tribes.

In today's scripture we see concerning the coming again of Christ there
are events related to the city of Jerusalem and the Temple. Is the
Jerusalem mentioned here related to the city made of bricks and stones?
Is the Temple mentioned here the temple created by Solomon and rebuild
twice later.

When we read the teachings of Jesus or Paul who did the right
interpretation of scriptures (OT) we see they did not in any way give
any emphasizes neither to the city of Jerusalem nor to the Jewish temple
in Jerusalem.

There are some facts which people misunderstand like Gentile does not
means a non-Jew or non-Christian. Gentile in the OT was a term given for
the lost Jew or Jew who followed other gods or kept the traditions of
the pagans. This term originated with the people of Galilee (even during
the time of Jesus Mary followed the traditions of the gentiles since she
was from Galilee). Samaria was part of northern Israel and was the
capital of kingdom of Israel when Israel was divided into kingdom of
Judah and Israel. It was the Israelites of this nation which were called
Samarians and later were known by their following of beliefs and
traditions when both nations became one during the time of Jesus. When
Jesus or Paul said they came for the gentiles, they meant Lost Sheep.

When Bible says Israel it means Prince who has power with God in other
words means Sons of God. It is the Holy Spirit who makes a person a true
Israel and this happens when one (old person) wrestles with God's image
in one's self like Jacob wrestled with God and was called Israel.

Let us not forget the fact God is God of all creation even though He is
known by the title as God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is God of
every nation even though Israel is historically connected with Him and
His Christ. No person is distinguished before God by his race but only
by his faith and his works of faith.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord we pray your people understand your Word not by its text but by its
understanding according to your Spirit. Holy Spirit open the hearts and
minds of the people so that they know your Word in its Truth and that
they may be set free from the bonds of sin...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Daniel 9:25-27

25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the
commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the
Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street
shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not
for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy
the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood,
and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the
midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to
cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it
desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be
poured upon the desolate.

Luke 21:24And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led
away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of
the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Acts 15:14Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the
Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

Romans 2:29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is
that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is
not of men, but of God.

Be afraid of God's Word

Habakkuk 3:2O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD,
revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years
make known; in wrath remember mercy.

Many a times I have people who question my messages, they say the Gospel
is a Gospel of grace and the love so why are your messages at times so
harsh. In today's message as Habakkuk was praying upon Shigionoth [which
means being doubtful or going astray] he starts with saying he heard the
words of the Lord and was afraid but he ends the sentence with 'in wrath
remember mercy'.

Who can say 'I love the sword drawn out against me'? The Word of God is
a sword; Paul [supposed to be the writer of Hebrews] describes it as
double edged sword that separates the bone joints from the marrow. Bone
symbolizes character, bone joints symbolize the working of the character
and marrow symbolizes the spirit, so the Word of God works between
working of our character and our spirit. It separates our character from
our spirit. Unless the Word does not do the piercing and separating then
the Spirit of God cannot work on the character and change it. In the
book of Jeremiah the Lord says is not my Word like fire or like hammer.
Can anyone say I love fire or hammer when it works on me?

The Gospel (Good News) is the message of hope when there was no hope,
when all doors were shut the Lord opened a door. It is the Gospel and
its acceptance that brings us to see the Word and understand it via the
Spirit of God.

When Habakkuk said 'I fear your Word' he also said 'in wrath remember
mercy'. It is like saying I fear the sword but I trust the hand that
holds the sword to be merciful.

We know the sword of God will spare no one, not even the Angels but
those who know the Hand that holds the sword will not be afraid of
death. Jesus Christ as man manifested the Hand in the flesh. Let us like
Habakkuk fear the Lord but also at the same time have confidence in Him
by knowing Him through Christ. Let us not be foolish to say I know the
hand so I have no fear, let us remember when Christ comes again He will
manifest the sword on Judgment Day for it will be the sword that will
judge us.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are a Righteous and Holy God and no corrupting can exist
before You. Lord when we see your Word thought come to us who can
survive this sword but as we know You through your Son Jesus Christ we
have confidence in You as being merciful Father. We pray Lord there
exist both fear and confidence in us to that we walk in the way You have
set for us...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Jeremiah 23:29Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a
hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

Hebrews 4:12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than
any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and
spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts
and intents of the heart.

John 12:48He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one
that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him
in the last day.

Die to live

Matthew 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth
his life for my sake shall find it.

Across religions we find death is related to life be it religions like
Hinduism, Islam or even peaceful religions like Jainism you will find dead
and life related beliefs for all of them encourage suicide in one way or
the other, be it Sati, Jihad or Sallekhana. They all promote natural death
with a promise or reward.

Today’s scripture projects Christianity unlike other religions although it
demands death it does not demand a natural death but a carnal death.
Christianity does not give right to anyone to take anyone’s life even the
life of oneself. In the OT when the Spirit of God was not given to man, man
was given the right battle in the natural so as to defend themselves or
even attack to defend the interest of the community. But after Jesus made
peace with God and man and the Spirit of God is given to the Church, so now
we battle spiritually and not in the flesh, for scripture says the Lord
fights our battles.

To be a Christian is most difficult and if one is told all about what one
needs to do to be a Christian right in the start, I doubt any person would
desire to be a Christian. It is only by the grace and help of the Holy
Spirit we travel this journey of change, step by step.

Our spirit life is our real life and this natural life which we live in
this flesh is a temporary and just a very minute fraction of our spirit
life. Whenever I preach on life I always tell people Satan is behind your
life and even God is behind your life. Satan wants to destroy your spirit
life so he tries to temp you to enjoy your natural life, thus leads you to
all kind of pleasures of the flesh, eyes and mind. God on the other hand
desires we have eternal spiritual life, a life of abundance but for that He
demands we kill our carnal life. He does not temp like Satan does but puts
us to tests where He causes us to make the choice. With God as He puts us
to tests He even supports us to make the right choice and does not put us
to a test wherein we will fail.

Today’s message tells us if we lose our life for the sake of Christ we will
find it. It does not mean to die shouting the name of Jesus Christ like
Muslim Jihadist do. It is when we stand for the purpose of God and for who
He is even at the cost of our own lives, we will have life.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are God and our eternal home. It is only in You Lord can we have
eternal life and life of abundance. Lord we pray we understand our
priorities and discern good from bad, we pray we see all things through our
spiritual eyes and not through our carnal eyes. We pray we put our carnal
flesh to death so that we live eternal in spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
