UNESCO Supports TerrorismUNESCO Supports Terrorism
Like Hamas, they believe that Jews have no historical or religious attachment to the Holy Land.
by Bassam Tawil
What do Hamas and UNESCO have in common?
Both believe that Jews have no historical, religious or emotional attachment to the Holy Land.
The recent UNESCO resolutions concerning Jerusalem and Hebron are precisely what terror groups that deny Israel's right to exist, such as Hamas, have long been hoping to hear from the international community.

The first resolution denies that Israel is the sovereign power over Jerusalem, including the Western Wall, while the second one designates Hebron and the Jewish Tomb of the Patriarchs as an "Endangered Palestinian World Heritage Site."

The two UNESCO resolutions, in fact, back the position of Hamas and other Palestinians – namely that Israel has no right to exist. These decisions provide Hamas and other terror groups with ammunition with which to destroy Israel, killing as many Jews as possible in the process.

Is it any wonder, then, that Hamas leaders were rubbing their hands with glee upon the announcement of the UNESCO resolutions? Hamas can now crow: 'We told you that the Jews are just retrofitting their claims for 3000 or 4000 years of history in this area; now even the international community endorses the idea that Jewish history in the region is a lie.'
Hamas was the first Palestinian terror group to "welcome" the UNESCO decisions. For the Islamist movement, the resolutions serve as proof that Jews ought to find themselves another place in which to live.

"The UNESCO resolution pertaining to Jerusalem demolishes the false Israeli narrative and confirms our full right to Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque," remarked Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif Al-Qanou. "We applaud the resolution and thank all the countries that voted in favor of it."
Hamas has also "welcomed" and praised UNESCO for its resolution on Hebron, citing it as "proof that the Israeli narrative is fake." Other Palestinian terror groups have hailed the UNESCO resolutions as a "victory for the Palestinians and a severe blow to Israel's false narratives."

The terrorists, however, are not alone in heaping praise on UNESCO for helping them promote their ideology of denial. The "moderate" Palestinian Authority (PA) of Mahmoud Abbas, which has long been denying Jewish rights in Jerusalem and Hebron, sees the resolutions as evidence of the "fakeness of the Israeli narrative." A statement issued by the PA government in Ramallah said that the resolutions prove that the Israeli narrative is false and that the Arab Palestinian narrative is correct."
This is the same PA leadership that purports to be working toward achieving peace and coexistence with Israel. In the upside-down world of Palestinian denial, such repudiation of the truth is par for the course: the "culture of peace" lie that Abbas fed to President Donald Trump several weeks ago has about as much truth value as this newest deadly fabrication.
Denying Jews' rights in Jerusalem and Hebron has long been a major component of the Palestinians' anti-Israel narrative. In school textbooks and other publications, Jewish religious sites are featured as "Arab, Palestinian and Islamic" religious places. The Western Wall, for example, is only described as "Al-Buraq Wall," while the Tomb of the Patriarchs is referred to as the Ibrahimi Mosque.

Generation after generation, Palestinian children are taught that Jewish history is a figment of some twisted Jewish imagination.
Generation after generation, Palestinian children are taught that Jewish history is a figment of some twisted Jewish imagination. They are also being taught that only Palestinians and Muslims are entitled to the Holy Land. And they learn this lesson well: many Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims continue to deny Israel's right to exist because they have absorbed this message of hate. This message, moreover, is pervasive – it is disseminated not only through school textbooks, but also through media outlets and the rhetoric of their leaders, especially mosque preachers and imams.
As of now, Palestinians also have an international agency (UNESCO) to support their anti-Israel narrative and rhetoric. The

UNESCO resolutions are being interpreted by many Palestinians as proof that Israel has no right to exist. For many Palestinians, the resolutions are a green light to pursue their "armed struggle" to "liberate Palestine, from the [Mediterranean] sea to the [Jordan] river." Translation: UNESCO has given the Palestinians yet another incentive to take to the streets and kill the first Jew they meet.

The latest UNESCO resolutions are a catalyst for Palestinian terrorism against Israelis. Yet they are more than that: they also make the prospect of peace even more distant. UNESCO and other international agencies that deny Jewish history are sending a green light for violence and extremism to Palestinians and other Arabs and Muslims.
These resolutions are seen by Palestinians as supporting their false and invented narrative that they are the true owners of the land and that all the holy sites belong solely to Muslims.

Observing Hamas celebrate the UNESCO resolutions should worry those countries that voted in favor of the anti-Israel resolutions. When terrorists are emboldened by international parties, they do not hesitate to strike. Armed – literally – with the UNESCO resolutions, Palestinian terrorists are undoubtedly already planning their next attack on Jews.
The blood that they spill will be on the hands of UNESCO and those who voted in favor of its anti-Israel resolutions. They will share responsibility for the next terror attack on Jews perpetrated by Palestinian terrorists: after all, they were simply helping to support a "culture of peace."

UNESCO Makes Outrageous Move Denying Israel's Sovereignty in Jerusalem - on Independence Day
“Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness. For they shall soon wither like the grass, and fade as the green herb.” (Psalms 37:1)

“Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness. For they shall soon wither like the grass, and fade as the green herb.” Psalms 37:1 (The Israel Bible™)

As millions of Israeli and diaspora Jews marked Israel’s 69th Independence Day, the United Nations cultural body UNESCO voted Tuesday to adopt a resolution denying Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem.

The resolution—which passed in a 22-10 vote, with 23 abstentions—states that “all legislative and administrative measures and actions taken by Israel, the occupying Power, which have altered or purport to alter the character and status of the Holy City of Jerusalem, and in particular the ‘basic law’ on Jerusalem, are null and void and must be rescinded forthwith.”

The 10 countries voting against the resolution were the U.S., U.K., Italy, Netherlands, Lithuania, Greece, Paraguay, Ukraine, Togo and Germany. Among those voting in favor of the measure were Brazil, China, Egypt, Iran, Russia, South Africa and Sweden.

Italy was the only European Union country to publicly oppose the resolution ahead of the vote.

“Our opinion is very clear,” Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano said. “UNESCO cannot be the place for a permanent ideological confrontation.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday, “There is no nation in the world for whom Jerusalem is more holy than for the Jewish people,” adding that UNESCO “is trying to bury this truth. We will uphold it.”

Israel’s Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon called the resolution “distorted” and “shameful,” and said it will “not change the fact that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the Jewish people.”

Last October, UNESCO passed two separate resolutions ignoring Jewish and Christian ties to Jerusalem’s holy sites.

UNESCO Resolution Predicted By Great Jewish Scholar 900 Years Ago
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz May 3, 2017 , 12:30 pm
“They have said: ‘Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Yisrael may be no more in remembrance.’ For they have consulted together with one consent; against Thee do they make a covenant.” Psalms 83:5 (The Israel Bible™)

In an act that too poignant to be coincidental, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) passed a resolution at a meeting in Paris denying Israel’s sovereignty over Jerusalem on its 69th Day of Independence. Two well-known rabbis believe the despicable act, predicted 900 years ago, essentially represents the United Nations’ attempts to usurp God’s role in the creation of the world and of Israel.

Nearly a millennium ago, the renowned medieval Torah scholar known as Rashi predicted that one day the nations of the world would come and say that the Jews are thieves for living in the land of Israel.

“That,” said Rabbi Shimon Apisdorf, a prominent Jewish educator and bestselling author who noted the connection to Breaking Israel News, “is exactly what happened in Paris yesterday.”

In the Torah commentary, he explained, “Rashi is teaching us that the same power that created the world, created the Land of Israel specifically for the Jews. Denying that the land of Israel belongs to Israel is tantamount to denying that the world exists at all. It is as if you are saying there is no sun, and the moon is just an enormous light bulb in the sky.”

Rabbi Yosef Dayan, a noted public figure and former member of the nascent Sanhedrin, agreed that the UN was essentially attempting to take over God’s role in the world by seizing the power to create or uncreate Israel.

“The UN wants to take back Israel because they think they are the ones who gave it to us,” he said, citing the United Nations Partition Plan in 1948, which parcelled out the region under the British Mandate and granted the Jews autonomy in Israel.

The fundamental problem is that the Jewish people allowed an outside power to impose sovereignty, he explained to Breaking Israel News.

“Israel has to come from the most inner desire of Israel, and from nowhere else … These are all secular decisions that, in effect, are an attempt to eclipse the Will of God and erase his eternal brit (covenant) with Israel.

“If the Jews had autonomously decided to declare a nation in 1948, without depending on the UN vote, that return from exile would have been accompanied by miracles,” said Rabbi Dayan, who claims direct descent through male lineage to the Davidic Dynasty.
The rabbi cited a section of the Talmud (Brachot 4,a) which states that every time Israel returns from exile, it is accompanied by a miracle. This was the case when the Jews returned from Egypt and the Jordan River miraculously split.

And the Kohanim that bore the ark of the covenant of Hashem stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan, while all Israel passed over on dry ground, until all the nation were passed clean over the Jordan. Joshua 3:17

“There was no miracle when the Jews returned from the Babylonian exile because they sinned,” Rabbi Dayan told Breaking Israel News. “Their sin was that they only came back to Israel at the behest of King Cyrus. By not relying on God, by relying on the world which is ruled by the laws of nature, the Jews cancelled out the miracle.”

The sin was repeated in 1948, he believes. “The Israeli government does not act as if it has independence in our land because they do not recognize the real source of our right to the land: God’s covenant with Abraham.

“They think the UN gave us the land, so now the UN thinks they have the right to take it back.”

The UNESCO resolution declared the law passed by the Knesset in 1980 establishing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel as “null and void.” The resolution also demanded that Israel open its borders to Gaza. After ignoring the Bible and history, it is only natural the UN feels it can supercede laws passed by the sovereign State of Israel.
