Joe Biden does not want Democrats to impeach Trump if they retake the House

Joe Biden made a statement this week that absolutely rocked the Democrat party.
Asked if Democrats should introduce articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump should they gain control of the House this fall, Biden stated, “I hope they don’t.”

Impeachment Movement
From virtually the first day Trump took office, Democrats have been trying to impeach him.

On several occasions, Democrats have tried to push through impeachment articles, but they have never made it through.

Reason being, there is not a shred of evidence or wrongdoing on Trump’s part that would warrant such a drastic measure.

Even so, this continues to be a major part of the campaign agenda for Democrats running for office.

They are not interested in actually doing anything of real value for Americans. They have proven that time and again.

The only thing Democrats seem to be interested in these days is impeaching Trump and helping out undocumented immigrants.

Common Sense
Since Biden has been very outspoken against Trump in the past, it was rather shocking to hear him actually make a statement that made sense.

The former VP stated there is simply no basis for impeaching Trump right now.

And, rather than jump to a false conclusion, he would prefer if Democrats in office waited until the full Mueller report is released to make a decision regarding Trump’s impeachment.

Biden no doubt realizes that while Mueller’s investigation has netted some big fish, and while those individuals had relationships with Trump, none of the indictments thus far have had anything to do with Trump actually colluding with the Russians during the election.

Do You Think Democrats Will Listen to Biden?
Yes
No
Democrats would do well to heed Biden’s words — they are likely to end up with a significant amount of egg on their face if they prematurely move forward with impeachment.

It will only end up making Democrat politicians look foolish and hurt the public perception of the party as a whole.

‘Guilty until proven innocent’? Trump defends Saudi Arabia from rush to judgment in Khashoggi case

US President Donald Trump is pushing back on accusations that Saudi Arabia killed a journalist inside a consulate in Turkey, calling them a case of holding Riyadh “guilty until proven innocent.”
“Here we go again with you're guilty until proven innocent,” the president told AP in an interview on Tuesday evening, when asked about the widespread condemnation of Saudi Arabia over the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

He compared the outcry against the Saudis to the allegations of sexual assault against Judge Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation to the US Supreme Court. Kavanaugh was eventually confirmed after the FBI investigation found no corroborating evidence for the charges.

Khashoggi, an outspoken critic of the current royals in Riyadh, disappeared two weeks ago after he entered a Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey. The Washington Post columnist was not observed leaving the building, and the US media have cited anonymous Turkish sources to report that he was murdered and dismembered inside.

A team of Turkish and Saudi investigators visited the consulate on Monday, but no official results of the visit have been made public.

Saudi King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman  have both denied any knowledge about what might have happened to Khashoggi. Following Trump’s comments about the possibility that “rogue killers” might have been involved, several US media outlets reported that a Saudi probe was expected to paint Khashoggi’s death as a result of a botched rendition and interrogation. They once again cited anonymous sources, however.

Trump told AP his comment about “rogue killers” was informed by his “feeling” of the conversation with King Salman.

A number of high-profile business, media and finance executives have bowed out of a major investment conference in Saudi Arabia over the Khashoggi affair. Last week, the US Senate asked Trump to open a Global Magnitsky Act investigation into the journalist’s disappearance, which would result in sanctions against persons or governments found responsible. One senator even asked for suspending the sale of US military equipment to the Saudis, which Trump has so far been reluctant to do.

After appearing at several rallies over the last couple of weeks, Trump is predicting “something big is happening” in our country.

Groundswell Support
The true measure of how people feel and will be voting this November is how they actually show up for a candidate or cause.

The protests of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh provided proof of this over the last month or so.

While the mainstream media portrayed these protests with a significant presence, the real pictures told the true story.

The media was zooming in to protestors in order to avoid giving the full picture, meaning a very limited showing and severe lack of interest in their case.

On the other hand, we have President Donald Trump’s rallies, which are held in arenas, usually to a full house.

In many of these cases, support is so significant, the venues have to put up viewing screens outside to support the overflow.

Something Big
While the publicity was a horrible ordeal for Justice Kavanaugh and his family, the allegations against him may have been the best thing for the GOP as a whole.

What happened to Kavanaugh woke up a lot of conservative Americans and made it quite clear this fight is not even close to being over.

Many Trump supporters thought that once the election was over, people would let bygones be bygones and support the administration, as long as it was making things better for Americans as a whole.

While there is no question the everyday American is far better off today than they were only a couple of years ago, the divide in the country has only increased, largely in part because Democrats refuse to move forward.

Have You Ever Attended a Trump Rally?
Yes
No

All of that has combined to once again awaken disenfranchised Americans to support a candidate both the establishment and Democrats despise.

Trump is right… something amazing is happening and come November, we will see exactly how big that something is.

Report: Trump considering five people to replace Jeff Sessions
October 13, 2018 by Jerry McCormick

Rumors are flying, and it looks like Jeff Sessions’ days as Attorney General could be numbered.

The Wall Street Journal is now reporting President Donald Trump has five names on his shortlist as replacements for Jeff Sessions.

Frustrations
President Trump has been frustrated with Jeff Sessions almost from day one.

The ink was not even dry on his new appointment when Sessions stated that he was going to recuse himself from the Russian investigation.

For some reason, this was never discussed during the interviewing stage and Trump naturally assumed Sessions would be manning the helm.

When Sessions did announce he was recusing himself, Trump lost it and it has been all downhill since.

Justice Problems
While the Russia investigation has been a constant nuisance for the president, numerous other decisions Sessions has made have aggravated Trump.

For one, his inability to get law enforcement in all states on board with the immigration program.

That and more has caused Trump to call out Sessions publicly on more than one occasion.

It almost seemed as though Trump was trying to pressure Sessions into resigning.

Even though he has been under immense pressure, Sessions has given no signs of even thinking about resigning.

Rumors Flying
With Sessions staying on, it now seems as though the relationship has come to a head for Trump and he is no longer willing to wait for Sessions to resign.

According to White House officials and outside advisers, five names are being floated as possible replacements for Sessions, the Journal reported. The potential candidates are:

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar
Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan
Transportation Department general counsel Steven Bradbury
Retired D.C. circuit appeals court judge Janice Rogers Brown
Former Attorney General Bill Barr
Do You Want To See Sessions Replaced as Attorney General?
Yes
No
These names were reported by sources after it was leaked President Trump discussed the Attorney General position with Jeff Sessions’ Chief of Staff, Matthew Whitaker.

The Trump administration has generally been very quick to quash bogus rumors, but nothing has been said thus far to deny this one. However, White House officials say it’s unlikely that Sessions would be replaced until after the midterm elections, at the soonest.

Journalist: President Trump ‘doesn’t get credit for being so accessible’ to the press
October 11, 2018
https://www.conservativeinstitute.org/media-bias/trump-doesnt-get-credit.htm?utm_source=boomtrain&utm_medium=automated&utm_campaign=ci3
Gage Skidmore / CCL
With just weeks to go before Election Day, President Donald Trump is sharing impromptu comments with the press at a dizzying pace to promote his achievements. But while President Trump’s critics often compare him to a dictator who hates the free press, some journalists say there’s never been a more accessible president in the country’s 242-year history.

Trump, the most media-accessible president
The president’s critics often note that he has held relatively few press conferences, but what the Trump administration lacks in typical press access it more than makes up for with nearly constant, spur-of-the-moment Q&A sessions.

“In my experience covering White Houses, from Reagan to George W. Bush, we’ve never had that kind of access from a president before,” Richard Benedetto, a retired White House correspondent who teaches at American University, told the Washington Times. “He doesn’t get credit for being so accessible. He answers questions all over the place.”

Take Tuesday, for example, when Trump talked to reporters throughout the day in his free-wheeling, devil-may-care fashion. Trump opened the White House up to the press in the morning to discuss the resignation of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley almost immediately after it was announced, an unprecedented move for such an important topic.

After that 20-minute session ended, Trump made his way to Marine One in the afternoon to fly to a campaign rally in Iowa, but not before stopping on the South Lawn for another 15-minute session with reporters. Aboard Air Force One later that day, Trump invited the press for another session lasting half-an-hour in his cabin, another break from presidential precedent.

The Trump show continued throughout the week with a session at the Oval Office on Wednesday, where Trump took questions about Hurricane Michael.

Departure from Obama
Trump’s casual approach marks a stark contrast with his predecessors. Eschewing more traditional channels of communication, Trump prefers to speak directly to the people through impromptu press sessions, Twitter, and campaign-style rallies, were he frequently mocks the journalists assembled there to cover him. The result is unfiltered coverage of an unfiltered president – a president who, to his supporters, isn’t afraid to “tell it like it is.”

“It’s just the antithesis of Barack Obama,” Benedetto said. “Obama was very careful in expressing his views on anything that came along that was slightly controversial. He tested the waters by having his secretary of state do it, or having his press secretary do it, or having his vice president do it. He used them as kind of a shield before he actually came out,” he added, recalling a time when Biden came out in support of gay marriage before Obama did.

For all his acrimony towards the “Fake News,” which he calls the “enemy of the people,” Trump loves the attention. Lifted by glowing reports of economic recovery, a successful trade deal with Canada and Mexico, and a successful Supreme Court nomination that many thought was doomed, Trump is eager to brag.

To promote his record of achievement, Trump is holding rallies every week in the run-up to the midterms, and he doesn’t spare a rally or a session with reporters to tout his record of achievement. Journalists were also back at the Oval Office on Thursday as Trump met with rap star Kanye West for lunch and a bizarre, spontaneous conference, another opportunity for Trump to boost his image with an endorsement from one of pop culture’s most influential people.

Master of the media
But it’s not merely that Trump loves to talk. The Queens-born businessman whose romantic affairs have adorned the covers of New York City tabloids for decades hasn’t lost his touch with the press, and he is using his gift for gab to control the news cycle.

“The White House knows that all of his comments drive news cycles, so the more you can step up the metabolism of the news cycle, the better it is for him,” an anonymous reporter told the Times. “Also, I think he loves the attention. He has strongly held opinions, and he needs to tell people about them.”

Trump and hostile reporters both know that news cycles begin and end with his often outrageous comments. Add in Trump’s unconventional approach to press access, and reporters are left hanging on his every word.

Meanwhile, sharing news-breaking comments on the South Lawn has become a hallmark of Trump’s cavalier relationship with the media; many of his consequential remarks appearing in news videos are even muffled by the sound of helicopter engines. A side-effect of this approach is a dynamic where Trump has the power to ignore an often-hostile press when he wants: he can walk past the press pool and be whisked away to a rally, where he can speak right to his supporters — and give the press a routine drubbing.

Do you enjoy watching President Trump interact with members of the media?
Yes
No
Next
“It’s all him,” the anonymous reporter said. “The format is the ultimate home-court advantage. All the network reporters are lined up behind a chain begging for his attention, and he can pick and choose who he favors and who he doesn’t favor. He loves it, and it works for him.”

Still, Trump’s love-hate relationship with the press is underlined by a stark reality: a recent report from the Media Research Center found that coverage of the president was 90 percent hostile. Trump may have a point about the media being the “enemy” of the people — but for an enemy, he sure knows how to work them.

After the publication of an anonymous op-ed in the New York Times in September, which described a concerted effort by officials to thwart the president’s plans, Haley denied involvement, and said that she openly disagrees with Trump when necessary.

"I don’t agree with the president on everything. When there is disagreement, there is a right way and a wrong way to address it. I pick up the phone and call him or meet with him in person," she said. She later called rumors that officials were planning on trying to remove Trump from office for unfitness via the 25th Amendment “absurd.”
Prior to joining the Trump administration, Haley was South Carolina’s first female governor, elected in 2010, and again in 2014.

posted by Hannity Staff - 4 hours ago
US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley stepped down from her position Tuesday morning, with Axios reporting President Trump has officially accepted her letter of resignation.
According to Axios, “President Trump has accepted Nikki Haley’s resignation as UN Ambassador, according to two sources briefed on their conversation. The timing of her departure is still unclear.”
Haley -the former Governor of South Carolina- was instrumental in advancing President Trump’s agenda at the United Nations; emphasizing North Korea, Iranian sanctions, the US withdrawal from the Human Rights Council, and more.
“Like my colleagues in the Cabinet and on the National Security Council, I have very open access to the president. He does not shut out his advisers, and he does not demand that everyone agree with him. I can talk to him most any time, and I frequently do,” said Haley just months ago.
“President Trump‘s ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki R. Haley, has resigned, leaving the White House with one less moderate Republican voice on his cabinet’s foreign policy team,” writes the New York Times.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

Former Top FBI Lawyer Testified that Rosenstein “Seriously” Considered Secretly Recording Trump
By Sara Carter
October 09, 2018 | 6:16 AM EDT
Former FBI General Counsel told Congress last week that Rosenstein was serious when he discussed recording the President and invoking the 25th Amendment
Baker also told Congress that Mother Jones journalist David Corn also provided the FBI with a version of an anti-Trump dossier

Former FBI General Counsel James Baker told lawmakers last week that based on conversations with senior FBI officials, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was “seriously” considering secretly recording President Trump’s conversations. Rosenstein also discussed the possibility of invoking the 25th Amendment on the president in an effort to remove him from office for being unfit. This, according to sources with direct knowledge of Baker’s deposition.

Baker said he met with former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and former FBI attorney Lisa Page shortly after their meeting with Rosenstein in May, 2017. He told lawmakers that McCabe, Page and Rosenstein had discussed the possibility of secretly recording President Trump. Baker, who was the top lawyer for the FBI and a close confidant of Comey, noted that he was not in the meeting with Rosenstein. A source with direct knowledge of the testimony claims Baker testified that “Andy McCabe, Lisa Page took seriously what Rosenstein had said, and when they returned to the office, the three of them discussed the possibility of secretly recording Trump.”
Baker told lawmakers during his deposition last Wednesday, that he told Page and McCabe that “he didn’t think it was unethical’ to secretly record the president.

“He interpreted what McCabe and Page had said as serious,” another source with direct knowledge of Baker’s deposition said. “Baker also added that he ‘didn’t do a legal analysis on…the issue of ‘ bugging the president.'”
Baker’s testimony to lawmakers coincides with a New York Times story published in September that suggested Rosenstein was behind a move in May, 2017 to remove the president after he ordered the firing of former FBI Director James Comey. The irony, however, was that on May 9, 2017, Rosenstein had written the letter outlining the reasons Comey was unfit to serve as FBI director stating, “The director was wrong to usurp the Attorney General’s authority on July 5, 2016, and announce his conclusion that the case should be closed without prosecution. It is not the function of the Director to make such an announcement.” The letter continues, “The Director ignored another longstanding principle: we do not hold press conferences to release derogatory information about the subject of a declined criminal investigation.”
Baker told lawmakers that “he didn’t think it was unethical’ to secretly record the president…”

On Monday, President Trump flew to Florida with Rosenstein in their first sit-down meeting since the New York Times story was published. According to the White House, Trump and Rosenstein met for a half-hour as they headed to the International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Convention in Orlando, Fla.

Trump said at the event in Florida, “Thank you as well to our Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein for being here, flew down together. The press wants to know, ‘What did you talk about?’ ‘We had a very good talk,’ I will say. That became a very big story, actually. We had a good talk.”

It is unsure if the situation will remain the same in light of Baker’s testimony. However, Rosenstein is set to give his deposition to lawmakers on Oct. 11 regarding the information published in the New York Times story, along with the information recently provided by Baker, several congressional lawmakers confirmed to SaraACarter.com.
White House officials did not comment on the deposition by Baker but instead referred comment to the DOJ.

DOJ spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores declined to comment on Baker’s testimony.
But Baker’s testimony revealed even more than the circumstances surrounding the Rosenstein meeting with Page and McCabe.

James Baker

He also noted that David Corn, a politics journalist with Mother’s Jones magazine also delivered a version of Steele’s dossier to him sometime after the election. Baker, who apparently has known Corn for a long time, said that he turned over the dossier version given to him by Corn to the FBI’s counterintelligence division. Corn had been communicating in the summer of 2016 with former British spy Christopher Steele, who during that time was hired by now embattled research firm Fusion GPS. Fusion GPS’s was paid over $9 million to conduct the research on alleged Russia Trump connections by both the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign, according to reports.

Around the same time period Corn published one of the first big exposes in October, 2016 on the alleged Trump Russia connection A Veteran Spy Has Given the FBI Information Alleging a Russian Operation to Cultivate Donald Trump. Corn’s dossier appears to have been different than the dossier that now deceased Sen. John McCain gave to the FBI but similar enough in its unsubstantiated substance.
In August, John Solomon published Did FBI get bamboozled by multiple versions of the Trump dossier ?

Solomon noted that the dossiers arrived to the FBI by different messengers to include “McCain, Mother Jones reporter David Corn, Fusion GPS founder (and Steele boss) Glenn Simpson.” The information was exposed in an email that Peter Strzok sent to FBI executives around the time BuzzFeed published a version of the dossier on Jan. 10, 2017.

Strzok wrote in the email, “our internal system is blocking the site. I have the PDF via iPhone but it’s 25.6MB. Comparing now. The set is only identical to what McCain had. (it has differences from what was given to us by Corn and Simpson.)” Strzok was referring to the BuzzFeed version of the dossier posted online, according to The Hill. And the revelation is significant according to lawmakers that noted the FBI should be working diligently to ensure that there is no manipulation of evidence or stacked circular reporting in investigations.

Last week, SaraACarter.com revealed that Baker also met with the Democratic party’s top lawyer, Michael Sussmann, to discuss the ongoing investigation by the bureau into the Trump campaign’s alleged ties with Russia.

According to Baker’s deposition, the meeting happened prior to the FBI’s initial warrant to spy on short-term campaign volunteer Carter Page, sources close to the investigation have told SaraACarter.com. Moreover, information provided by Baker coincides with the House Intelligence Committee’s final Russia report that suggests Sussmann was also leaking unverified information on the Trump campaign to journalists around the same time he met with Baker, according to the report and sources close the investigation.

The information exposes the bureau’s failure to inform the secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) that the evidence used to spy on Page was partisan and unverified, lawmakers told this news outlet. It further reveals the extensive role and close connection Sussmann, a cybersecurity and national security lawyer with Perkins Coie, had with the now-embattled research firm, Fusion GPS.
The Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton Campaign retained Fusion GPS through Perkins Coie law firm during the 2016 election.

Bolton: ‘Palestine’ is not a stateUS National Security Adviser John Bolton speaks during a briefing at the White House in Washington, Oct. 3, 2018. (AP/Susan Walsh)
“It’s not a state now. It does not meet the customary international law test of statehood,” US National Security Adviser John Bolton stated.

By Batya Jerenberg, World Israel News

US National Security Adviser John Bolton put the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) official status into perspective at a Wednesday press briefing when he announced that the United States would no longer be a signatory party to the United Nations’ International Court of Justice (ICJ).

“The president has decided that the United States will withdraw from the optional protocol and dispute resolution to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. This is in connection with a case brought by the so-called state of Palestine naming the United States as a defendant [in the ICJ], challenging our move of our embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem,” Bolton said.

White House reporters immediately jumped on the adjective, asking whether calling the Palestinian Authority (PA) a “so-called state” was “productive,” considering that President Donald Trump had said he was working towards a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Bolton’s answer was unequivocal.

“It’s not a state now. It does not meet the customary international law test of statehood,” he said. “It doesn’t control defined boundaries. It doesn’t fulfill the normal functions of government. There are a whole host of reasons why it’s not a state.”

“It could become a state, as the president said, but that requires diplomatic negotiations with Israel and others,” he added. “So calling it the ‘so-called state of Palestine’ defines exactly what it has been. [That’s] the position that the United States government has pursued uniformly since 1988, when the Palestinian Authority declared itself to be the State of Palestine.”

WATCH .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRxdWX_JJOE&ab_channel=RawStory
Bolton might have been referring to the fact that 137 countries have recognized the PA as a state since that date. He reiterated the US rejection of this position on a bipartisan level.

“We don’t recognize it as a state… We have consistently, across Democratic and Republican administrations, opposed the admission of ‘Palestine’ to the UN as a state because it’s not a state.”

Although the PA is only a “non-member observer state” at the UN, it was allowed to formally join the International Criminal Court in 2015. Since the court’s decisions are binding, the US, by leaving the protocol, blocked the Palestinian case.

Bolton added that the withdrawal was part of a general effort by the Trump administration to protect US sovereignty from the reach of the international court.

“We will commence a review of all international agreements that may still expose the United States to purported binding jurisdiction dispute resolution in the International Court of Justice,” he said. “The United States will not sit idly by as baseless politicized claims are brought against us.”

Donald Trump: Kavanaugh Hearings ‘A Very Scary Time for Young Men in America’

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the confirmation process for his nominee to the Supreme Court was a “scary time” for men in America.

“It’s a very scary time for young men in America when you can be guilty of something that you may not be guilty of,” Trump said. “This is a very difficult time.”

The president said that the confirmation process for his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was held to a different standard than the traditional idea of justice in America — innocent until proven guilty.

“In this realm, you are truly guilty until proven innocent, that’s one of the very very bad things that is taking place right now,” he said.

Trump commented on the delayed process as he left the White House for a trip to Pennsylvania.

He said that the Kavanaugh hearings where more than just a Supreme Court nominee, but rather a huge cultural moment in the United States.

“You could be somebody that was perfect your entire life, and somebody could accuse you of something, doesn’t necessarily have to be a woman,” Trump said.

When asked by reporters if he had a message for women, Trump replied, “Women are doing great.”

UN court orders Washington to lift Iran sanctions linked to humanitarian goods, civil aviation

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ordered the US to lift sanctions on Iran which are linked to humanitarian goods and civil aviation.
Tehran filed a complaint against Washington in July this year, saying that by pulling out of the Iranian nuclear deal, the US had breached the Treaty of Amity, Economic Relations, and Consular Rights signed in 1955.

Back then, more than 60 years ago, the sides agreed to encourage “mutually beneficial trade and investments,” and maintain “closer economic intercourse generally between their peoples.”
It has been almost five months since Donald Trump, a long-time critic of Iran and the nuclear agreement, pulled the US out of the deal. The decision was met with resistance from key US allies, including France and Germany. The US withdrawal from the deal came despite the fact that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed Tehran’s compliance with the accord on numerous occasions.

Trump Declares USMCA $1.2T Deal Biggest in U.S. History
https://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/10/01/trump-declares-usmca-1-2t-deal-biggest-in-u-s-history/?
1 Oct 2018Washington, DC708
President Donald Trump valued the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA) at $1.2 trillion on Monday, thereby replacing NAFTA as the biggest trade deal in U.S. history.
Trump spoke from the White House Rose Garden surrounded by those who have worked on the new USMCA trade deal.

The president called the USMCA “the most important trade deal we’ve done so far.” He called it “truly historic news for our nation.” He affirmed that the new deal will “terminate and replace NAFTA and the NAFTA trade agreements.”

He said he has long contended that NAFTA was perhaps the worst trade deal ever made, contributing to massive trade deficits. He said under NAFTA the U.S. lost vast amount of money, manufacturing jobs, and one in four auto jobs. On the campaign trail, Trump promised to replace NAFTA. On Monday he remarked the day marked the keeping of that promise.

“The factories were leaving, the jobs were leaving, we just can’t have that,” said Trump to emphasize the importance of reciprocity. “We’ve been treated so unfairly by so many nations around the world….we’re changing that.”

He commented on the updated KORUS agreement with South Korea. He said it added 250,000 jobs to South Korea.

President Trump said the new deal will govern $1.2 trillion in trade which makes it the biggest in U.S. history.

“Nobody understands how hard he’s worked,” Trump said of the U.S. Trade Representative, “Bob Lighthizer’s great.” The president said he wanted Lighthizer working on trade in his administration early on, “He felt the way I did.”

He thanked the entire team from the U.S. Trade Representative’s office, many of whom stood on the podium with him. He also thanked Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, calling him a wonderful person who has “really done a great job.” He added that he is also “developing a really good relationship” with the incoming Mexican president. He emphasized this is very important.

He gave his highest regards to Candian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. “It’s turned out to be a very good deal for both,” said Trump of the new deal.

“This is a terrific deal for all of us,” said Trump. He said once finalized, it will be the most modern, up-to-date, and balanced trade agreement in history of America. He said it will be the most advanced in the world with regard to patents. Mexico and Canada have agreed to strong new labor, environmental, and intellectual property standards.

He said the deal will be good for America’s farmers. “Mexico and Canada will be opened up a lot more than they are now,” said Trump who said it includes provisions opening up markets for U.S. wheat, poultry, eggs and dairy.

Trump said this will support hundreds of thousands of American jobs.

He said this also supports auto workers. The new deal is taking care of problems with parts produced overseas and imported to Canada before then being imported to the United States and have avoided tax by doing so. Trump said these loopholes are closed under the new deal. The deal requires production of parts by high wage workers. “We will be manufacturing many more cars,” said Trump who added that companies will not have the same incentive to produce automobiles overseas.

He said it will also strengthen rules of origin requirements. Trump added this will return the U.S. to a “manufacturing power house and allow us to reclaim a supply chain that has been offshore to the world.”

President Trump then said this will benefit U.S. pharmaceutical production.

“Anything you submit to congress is trouble,” said Trump as the text of the deal is sent to Congress for approval.

The president broke in to defense of his approach to trade that includes tariffs and efforts to break down trade barriers from other countries.

Trump told reporters last week at the United Nations General Assembly that he refused a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over a failure on Canada’s part of make certain concessions. “His tariffs are too high, and he doesn’t seem to want to move, and I’ve told him forget about it, and frankly, we’re thinking about just taxing cars coming in from Canada,” said Trump. He added that the U.S. was “very unhappy with the negotiations and the negotiating style of Canada” and that they didn’t like Canada’s representative Chrystia Freeland.

Joining President Trump on the Rose Garden podium were many individuals including U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, Treasury Sec. Steve Mnuchin, Commerce Sec. Wilbur Ross, Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow, DHS Sec. Kirstjen Nielsen, and Senior Advisor to the President Jared Kushner.

Nine Things to Know About the New U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement

Trudeau and Trump, seen here in a visit by the Canadian leader to the White House in 2017, have expressed optimism a deal is closeAFP

Donald Trump came closer to fulfilling one of his signature campaign promises Sunday night when the U.S. and Canada agreed to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement with the United States Mexico Canada Agreement, or USMCA.
Canada gave in on several fronts it had been resisting, although it won a crucial fight over how disputes between the trading partners are resolved. Mexico had agreed to the trade pact back in August. Sunday night’s agreement means that Canada will join that trade pact.

The deal still must be ratified by Congress. The agreement is complex and details are still be analyzed by trade experts, including lawyers for labor unions. Most of the key provisions do not kick in until 2020, giving legislatures in all three countries time to adopt their provisions into law.

In broad strokes, here are the important features of the new agreement.

The importance of the name change.  The new name of the agreement simply aggregates the three countries that are a party to it. That highlights the basic national sovereignty framework of the agreement. Instead of transnational North America being the operative entity, it is three independent nations. What’s more, the new name puts the U.S. first–as in “America first.”

Also gone from the name: free trade. The agreement’s centerpiece is no longer an economic theory called free trade. Instead, it is an agreement over the circumstances in which trade between the three parties will face lower or no trade barriers.

New rules for auto manufacturing.  The new agreement includes a major goal of the Trump administration: tightening the rules of origin for autos to qualify for zero tariffs.

A car or truck imported into the U.S. from Canada or Mexico will only qualify for zero tariffs if 75 percent of its components are manufactured in North America. The threshold under Nafta had been 62.5 percent, low enough that a lot of manufacturing work on autos was being done outside of North America. This is one of the win-win-win provisions of the agreement since it could result in more manufacturing being done in Canada and Mexico rather than Asia.

Another all around win is the implementation of a minimum wage for zero tariffs autos. Initially, at least 30 percent of the work manufacturing cars and trucks will have to be done by workers earning $16 an hour. That threshold moves up to 40 percent for cars by 2023.

That could push wages up for Mexican workers in the longer term. It is also likely to act as a cap on the amount of work on cars that will be done in the lowest wage areas of Mexico. As a result, more of the manufacturing work that moves into North America because of the 75 percent rules of origin threshold will likely be done in the U.S. and Canada. Politically, the higher rules of origin threshold and wage requirement could help the Trump administration win support for the plan from labor unions and Democrat lawmakers.

Higher auto tariffs could play an important role.  Although the 75 percent rules of origin requirement is a major accomplishment, there may be less than meets the eye unless the the Trump administration follows through on plans to raise auto tariffs.

The current U.S. tariff on cars is just 2.5 percent. As a result, many automakers may choose to accept the penalty for not meeting the North American content requirement rather than pay the higher wages repatriating manufacturing jobs would require. They’ll just pay the 2.5 percent duty and keep making car parts in Asia.

The Trump administration’s trade team is aware of this weakness, according to people familiar with the thinking inside the White House. Fortunately, the administration is currently considering raising tariffs on cars. That would make the rules of origin changes far more effective.

One person involved in the negotiations with Canada told Breitbart News that the decision to replace Nafta before imposing new auto tariffs was important strategically. If the administration had announced the higher tariffs first, importers would have been alerted to the higher costs and fought harder against the rules of origin, the thinking went. Now that the rules of origin are in place, the higher tariffs can be pitched as a way of simply making them effective.

Labor, safety, and environmental standards.  A key goal of U.S. labor advocates and environmentalists was higher labor standards in Mexico, ensuring the right of Mexican workers to organize and join unions. The new agreement accomplishes this and should lead to more powerful unions and better protections for workers rights in Mexico. This helps U.S. workers by decreasing the incentives to move jobs south of the border to take advantage of weaker labor rights. U.S. workers will be able to compete on a more level playing field.

The new agreement also requires that trucks coming across the border from Mexico meet U.S. safety regulations. It also includes stipulations aimed at making Mexican manufacturers meet higher environmental protection standards.

The sunset clause.  One of the crucial flaws of Nafta was that it was built around the idea that it would remain in place forever. As time went on, certain part of the agreement became seriously outdated while others were revealed to be deeply flawed. Changes in the economies of all three countries, including the development of technologies unheard of back in the nineteen nineties, meant that the agreement was a bad fit for the realities of trade.

The new agreement faces a sunset after 16 years unless it is renewed. Every six years, the three countries will meet to renegotiate the agreements, extending the 16-year sunset out into the future. This is a compromise meant to assure the agreement is kept up to date while still providing the certainty business leaders claim they need to invest based on the agreement.

Milk, cheese, and ice-cream. Canada agreed to open up its dairy market to U.S. farmers. This was one of the last sticking points in the negotiations, thanks largely to the outsized political influence of Quebec’s dairy farmers. In the end, the agreement allows Canada to keep its complex system of quotas on milk and dairy products in place while expanding the market share available to U.S. farmers.

Steel and aluminum tariffs survive.  Both Canada and Mexico initially sought to win exemptions from the Trump administration’s steel and aluminum tariffs in the new agreement. That didn’t happen. The new agreement allows for those to stay in place.
Canada and Mexico could still win exemptions but those negotiations will take place separately.

Tariff dispute resolution. Trump administration officials sought to pare back the trade policy resolution mechanism in Nafta that gave Canada and Mexico outsized power in complaints when one or more of the three countries complained that a tariff violated the trade agreement. In the end, however, the U.S. agreed to keep the old rules largely intact.

Big business shakedowns ended. One of the most controversial aspects of Nafta is that it allowed companies and investors to sue the governments of Canada and Mexico if they believed a new policy–such as a higher environmental standard–threatened their investment. Critics said this allowed businesses to shakedown the governments for payoffs or subsidies to resolve the disputes.  The new agreement largely does away with this, although it keeps it in place for telecommunications and energy–where investors say they fear the Mexican government may try to nationalize the sectors and want a way of fighting against this.

Trump breaks silence on Kavanaugh accusations

The sexual misconduct allegations made by Christine Blasey Ford against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh have left Congress, and many Americans, divided on how to proceed. As time has passed, the voice of one man — President Donald Trump — has been uncharacteristically absent, gaining the praise of his usual adversaries.

But Trump’s neutrality came to an end just before the weekend, when, in a television appearance and a series of tweets, the president made his position known, urging Ford to come forward and reminding senators to move ahead with the confirmation process.

Time to “get on with it”
Trump joined the Ford-Kavanaugh conversation on Thursday, making an appearance on Fox News right before he was about to participate in a political rally to be held in Las Vegas.

Thursday was supposed to be the day that the committee voted on whether to confirm Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. But, that vote was delayed in order to allow time for Ford to come forward and testify before Congress. And, this was among the discussion points Thursday evening.

“They have to get on with it,” Trump said, referring to the members of the Senate.

The president continued to voice his frustration on Friday in a series of messages that he posted to Twitter, beginning with a defense of Kavanaugh’s character.

Twitter storm
“Judge Brett Kavanaugh is a fine man, with an impeccable reputation, who is under assault by radical left-wing politicians who don’t want to know the answers, they just want to destroy and delay,” Trump wrote. “Facts don’t matter. I go through this with them every single day in D.C.”

Not long after, the president turned his attention to Ford, asking her to produce a police report of the alleged incident.

“I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents,” he wrote.

He went on:

President Trump capped this string of tweets off by questioning the motives of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), echoing what many have been saying — that the timing of the allegation appears to be all too convenient for Democrats, who want to delay proceedings until after the midterm elections.

“Senator Feinstein and the Democrats held the letter for months, only to release it with a bang after the hearings were OVER – done very purposefully to Obstruct & Resist & Delay,” he wrote.

With these remarks, President Trump’s critics returned to their normal role of condemning everything that the president does. This includes members of his own party, such as Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), who called the tweets “inappropriate” and said that she was “appalled” by them.

Nonetheless, the president, as well as other Republicans who take his view, have a valid point, given the circumstances and that the Senate Judiciary Committee is practically begging Ford to testify — and yet she remains silent.

Do you share the president's frustration over Democrat delay tactics with Kavanaugh's accuser?
Yes
No
Next
It is a delicate situation and how it will play out remains unclear. But as the delay continues, more and more people are growing frustrated, and even those who at first supported Ford are beginning switch over to Trump’s perspective.

Trump Hints at Firing Rosenstein, Cleaning Out DOJ in Charged Rally Speech
BY CILLIAN ZEAL
SEPTEMBER 23, 2018 AT 6:42AM
https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/trump-hints-firing-rosenstein-cleaning-doj-charged-rally-speech/?
In President Donald Trump’s first speech after a New York Times story alleged Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had planned to surreptitiously record the commander in chief and explored the idea of invoking the 25th Amendment to have him removed from office, Trump talked of a “lingering stench” at the Department of Justice and promised more firings.

The remarks were made Friday, just hours after The Times published the article that suggested Rosenstein was willing to take measures that would be extraordinary for anyone in the Department of Justice, much less the deputy attorney general, against a sitting president.

“I want to tell you we have great people in the Department of Justice,” Trump told an audience in Springfield, Missouri, where he was campaigning for Josh Hawley, the Missouri attorney general challenging vulnerable Democrat Sen. Claire McCaskill.

“We have great people. These are people — I really believe you take a poll, I’ve got to be at 95 percent,” he said.

TRENDING: New York Times Admits Experts Were Wrong About Trump’s Iran Policy. America Is Winning.

“But we had some real bad ones — you’ve seen what’s happened at the FBI. They’re all gone.

“But there’s a lingering stench and we’re going to get rid of that, too,” he said.

In terms of the FBI, the message was unmistakable: Former Director James Comey, former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe as well as anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok and bureau lawyer Lisa Page, have all been fired or left the Bureau.

And, as for the allegations leveled at Rosenstein by The Times, they’re pretty dire.

Do you think Rod Rosenstein should be fired?
Yes No

“The deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, suggested last year that he secretly record President Trump in the White House to expose the chaos consuming the administration, and he discussed recruiting cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Mr. Trump from office for being unfit,” the piece read.

“Mr. Rosenstein made these suggestions in the spring of 2017 when Mr. Trump’s firing of James B. Comey as F.B.I. director plunged the White House into turmoil. Over the ensuing days, the president divulged classified intelligence to Russians in the Oval Office, and revelations emerged that Mr. Trump had asked Mr. Comey to pledge loyalty and end an investigation into a senior aide.”

Rosenstein also reportedly “raised the idea of wearing a recording device, or ‘wire,’ as he put it, to secretly tape the president when he visited the White House. One participant asked whether Mr. Rosenstein was serious, and he replied animatedly that he was.”

Allies of Rosenstein said the comment was made in jest, and the deputy attorney general himself denied the gist of The Times’ article not once but twice.

“I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda,” a statement by Rosenstein included with the piece read. “But let me be clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.”

RELATED: NYT Report on Rosenstein ‘Wire’ Talk Brings ‘Deep State’ Fears to the Surface

A later statement by Rosenstein was more specific: “I never pursued or authorized recording the president and any suggestion that I have ever advocated for the removal of the president is absolutely false,” he said Friday night, according to Forbes.

Will that end up saving Rosenstein? He has plenty of allies among Democrats, particularly Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer.

“This story must not be used as a pretext for the corrupt purpose of firing Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein in order install an official who will allow the president to interfere with the special counsel’s investigation,” Sen. Schumer said in a statement, according to Politico.

The statement also noted that other White House members, such as Defense Secretary James Mattis and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly “have been reported to say critical things of the president without being fired.”

Yes, well, neither of them apparently wanted to wear a “wire” to record the president as if he were a criminal suspect or invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.

That’s quite a different thing entirely — and it leaves a stench President Trump may be eager to remove.

US President Donald Trump has announced import tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods. China has promised to retaliate.
The move, which sees $200 billion worth of Chinese imports slapped with a ten percent levy, comes amid a deepening trade spat between the world’s two largest economies.
The tariffs will be applied to more than 1,000 Chinese products, including consumer goods like electronics, bicycles, tires, and furniture - all pumped out of Chinese factories in vast quantities for cheap export. The ten percent tariff will take effect on September 24, and rise to 25 percent on January 1, 2019.
In anticipation of Trump’s tariff announcement, major US stock market indexes closed on a down note. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 92.55 points, or 0.35 percent. The S&P 500 lost 16.18 points, or 0.56 percent, and Nasdaq dropped 114.25 points, or 1.43 percent.

The Chinese are expected to retaliate with commensurate tariffs on $60 billion in US goods, and may withhold vital raw materials to US firms. Chinese officials have suggested that planned talks between trade delegations from both countries will now not go ahead.

“China never said it doesn’t want to negotiate with the US,” Yang Weimin, a former senior economic and foreign policy adviser to President Xi Jinping, said Sunday, as cited by the Wall Street Journal. He added, however, that Washington should first “show sincerity” in its desire to resolve the trading dispute. “China is not going to negotiate with a gun pointed to its head,” the official noted.
Trump has been locked into a trade dispute with Beijing over China’s policy of forcing US companies to hand over trade secrets as a cost of doing business in China. Both countries have already slapped levies on $50 billion of each other’s exports. Currently, the US imports over half a trillion dollars worth of goods from China every year, while China imports $130 billion from the US.

President Trump defended his mercantilist policy on Monday, tweeting that “Tariffs have put the US in a very strong bargaining position, with Billions of Dollars, and Jobs, flowing into our Country - and yet cost increases have thus far been almost unnoticeable.”

The president, who has also engaged in trade battles with allies in the European Union and Canada then warned: “If countries will not make fair deals with us, they will be ‘Tariffed!’”
For China, Trump announced earlier this month that he has further tariffs on another $260 billion worth of Chinese imports “ready to go.” If all of Trump’s planned tariffs are applied, Monday’s levies, plus the existing $50 billion and planned $260 billion in tariffed goods would cover and exceed all of the US’ imports from China, a staggering $506 billion.

Report: Tension growing between White House and Defense Secretary James Mattis
September 16, 2018
https://www.conservativeinstitute.org/conservative-news/reports-trump-firing-mattis.htm
Gage Skidmore / CCL
Secretary of Defense James Mattis relationship with President Donald Trump is deteriorating, fueling rumors that he might be the next member of the current Trump administration to go.

At least that is the claim of several anonymous Department of Defense (DOD) officials who recently spoke with the New York Times.

DOD insiders: Mattis’ days are numbered
In Saturday’s article, these individuals describe a deteriorating relationship between President Donald Trump and Mattis — one in which both parties are unhappy and in which the best path forward appears to be separation.

This situation is, according to the report, best summed up by Trump’s own language. There once was a time, when he first achieved the presidency, that he referred to Mattis as “Mad Dog,” which — although the Times says Mattis dislikes it — was clearly a term of endearment.

But recently, “Mad Dog” has become “Moderate Dog,” signalling the president’s fear that Mattis might actually be a “Democrat at heart,” or at least harbor some Democratic points of view. And this, they say, is only the tip of the iceberg.

A good relationship goes bad
Over the past year, Trump and Mattis have locked horns repeatedly, disagreeing about everything from whether transgender people should be allowed to serve in the military, to whether the U.S. should engage in military exercises with South Korea, to whether Obama’s Iran deal should be upheld, and to the U.S.’s role in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

All the while, Mattis, particularly by the mainstream media, has been labelled as the “adult in the room,” who keeps President Trump and the other “children” in his administration from juvenile decisions. According to the insiders, such things have annoyed Trump.

This wasn’t helped by the recent Bob Woodward book that quotes Mattis as referring to Trump as someone with the intellect of a “fifth or sixth grader” — even though Mattis has referred to the book as a work of “fiction” and denied making any such comment.

Possible replacements
But this still isn’t all. These insiders go on to claim that Trump is not satisfied with Mattis’ vocal loyalty — or rather the lack thereof — to his administration.

Mattis has always been the quiet type politically, trying to protect his section of the government from political influences. But, the time has come, they say, in which Trump is looking for a more vocal leader.

But Trump may not be the only one looking to dissolve the relationship. According to some, Mattis too is getting tired of combating the president on various policy decisions.

Are you skeptical of this anonymously-sourced report that Trump plans to soon fire Defense Secretary Mattis?
Yes
No
With the possibility that Mattis’ time may be coming to an end, some have begun to look into possible replacements. Two names that have been floated are Republican senators Tom Cotton (AR) and Lindsey Graham (SC). Both, however, have already stated that they have no interest in the job.

And for now, it’s all just talk. While Trump certainly isn’t afraid of shaking things up to get better results, currently he’s happy with Mattis. Trump told reporters last week, “He’ll stay right there. We’re very happy with him. We’re having victories people don’t even know about.”

Trump green-lights new tariffs on $200 billion in Chinese imports
September 16, 2018
https://www.conservativeinstitute.org/economics/trump-new-tariffs-chinese.htm?The Trump administration is getting ready to take some big steps in the U.S.-China trade war.
According to reports, President Donald Trump has given the go-ahead for new tariffs to be placed on as much as $200 billion of Chinese goods.

U.S.-China trade fight trudges on
Talk of new economic sanctions on China began in August when the administration threatened tariffs as high as 25 percent on up to $200 billion of Chinese goods. Now, Trump appears to be following through on that promise — but his numbers aren’t quite as steep.

Instead, the president is expected to announce a 10 percent tariff on up to $200 billion of goods later this week.

The planned 25 percent tariff appears to have been lowered to 10 after importers complained during public hearings about the possible impact that such a high tax could have on their businesses.

Additionally, the administration is likely hoping to reduce the impact that the sanctions will have on American consumers this upcoming holiday season.

That is not to say that tariffs will not reach 25 percent in the future, however. According to insiders, if China does not make an effort to change its economic policies, President Trump is ready to step up his game.

“The president has been clear that he and his administration will continue to take action to address China’s unfair trade practices,” White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters, who declined to talk about the tariffs, said. “We encourage China to address the longstanding concerns raised by the United States.”

Upcoming talks complicate tariff threats
Further details are still in the works, but once the tariffs are announced, they are expected to go into effect within weeks, and possibly even before the end of September, as President Trump is scheduled to meet with Chinese leadership later this month regarding allegations of coercion by Beijing on American companies, who are being forced to hand over valuable technology to Chinese partners.

Do you support President Trump's use of tariffs as an economic tool to gain leverage against China?
Yes
No
Over the last several months, the trade wars between the United States and China have largely been run in a tit-for-tat style, with both countries placing retaliatory tariffs on one another as high as 25 percent on $50 billion in goods, and this trend is likely to continue.

Hearing of the Trump administration’s plans, China has already stated that it will retaliate against $60 billion of U.S. products should Trump move forward with his tariffs.

But as what — if any — impact the new tariffs will have on the upcoming midterm elections? Only time will tell.

Sparks fly on ‘The View’ over Trump’s response to Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico
September 14, 2018 by Ben Marquis
https://www.patriotnewsalerts.com/view-trumps-puerto-rico/?utm_source=pna2&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=pna2-1
Image via YouTube
Former Fox News host Abby Huntsman recently joined ABC’s The View as the show’s token right-leaning co-host, and it didn’t take long for sparks to fly between her and the other co-hosts with regard to their incessant habit of blaming everything on President Donald Trump.

At issue on Thursday was a tweet from Trump about what he believes is an artificially-inflated death toll related to Hurricane Maria’s impact on Puerto Rico in 2017. The liberal co-hosts blamed the entirety of the debacle that is Puerto Rico on Trump, while Huntsman rightly noted that it was “unfair” to place all of the blame on him alone.

According to Lifezette, co-host Sunny Hostin said Trump’s tweet about the prospect of Democrats inflating the death toll to make him look bad was nothing short of “grotesque” and should be denounced by any “human” with empathy, and proceeded to say the tweet rendered him “illegitimate as the president of the United States.”

Huntsman responds
Huntsman suggested that Trump’s tweet, like many other claims he has posted over the years, was exaggerated and shouldn’t be taken literally, and decried the fact that a hurricane response and recovery had been made “political” with a back-and-forth blame game for the death and destruction.

“I don’t think President Trump is solely to blame for what happened,” Huntsman said. “Puerto Rico had a number of their own problems before Maria even hit. They were filing for bankruptcy, they had a power grid that was in chaos.”

Hostin, who is originally from Puerto Rico, immediately jumped in to blame the island territory’s horrible infrastructure pre-Maria on the federal government, which she accused of having “raped” the island and used it as a “bank account,” apparently absolving the corrupt local government officials of any wrongdoing in the wretched state of affairs there prior to being further devastated by the storm.

Not the same as Hitler
Hostin further suggested that Trump simply “doesn’t care about Puerto Rico,” a charge which Huntsman said was not “fair.” She also thought it was unfair of Hostin to compare Trump to a ruthless dictator, which Hostin had done the day before.

“I think that is a dangerous play to be, because…that’s comparing him to a Hitler,” Huntsman said. “Someone that gasses their own people, that starves their own people, that orders for thousands of their own people to die.

“You think President Trump was in the Oval Office saying, ‘How can we make it worse for Puerto Ricans? How can we make it so more people die?’ You think that’s what happened in the White House?” Huntsman asked incredulously.

Hostin defended herself by saying she’d never compare anyone to Hitler — an untrue statement, as she has compared Trump to Hitler previously — and then suggested that Trump was too focused on NFL players kneeling for the national anthem to show any concern for the people of Puerto Rico.

Do you agree that it is "unfair" to blame the entirety of Puerto Rico's problems on Trump?
Yes
No
Next
Huntsman attempted to defend the president from the “unfair” attacks and blame aimed at him by her fellow co-hosts on The View, but she was outnumbered and out-shouted.

It remains to be seen how long Huntsman will last on the program before she gets tired of being ganged up on and is replaced by a new right-leaning punching bag for the liberal co-hosts to beat up on every day.

This tragedy happened two years to the day later, when Rodriguez and others gathered at the spot of the murder for a memorial.

According to reports, one of the homeowners in the area came outside and did not approve of the memorial being set.

He started to dismantle the memorial then apparently got into his car, where he was confronted by Rodriguez and another man.

After a short argument, the man reportedly floored it and ran right over Rodriguez, fatally striking her.

‘Prepare To Die:’ Leftists in Complete Frenzy After Learning Trump Will Be Able To Message All Americans
https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/leftists-frenzy-trump-message/?
BY CILLIAN ZEAL
SEPTEMBER 15, 2018 AT 2:35PM

If you’re a cell phone owner — and I’m assuming that applies to most of you in 2018 — you’ve probably received one of those alerts on your phone about an abducted child or a possible weather emergency, or just the usual test message.

Well, now FEMA is about to conduct a national test of part of their alert system in which the president can notify the American people in the event of an emergency, which is something that has to be pretty uncontroversial, right? I mean, there’s absolutely no way that this could possibly be problematic.

Or, as the editor of the hyper-left website Talking Points Memo put it: “Prepare to die.”

Sounds reasonable enough.

So, here’s the occasion that has liberals all in a tizzy: “The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on September 20, 2018,” the agency announced via a release.

TRENDING: Reporter Called Out for ‘Fake News’ After Florence Live Report Goes Very Wrong

“The WEA portion of the test commences at 2:18 p.m. EDT, and the EAS portion follows at 2:20 p.m. EDT. The test will assess the operational readiness of the infrastructure for distribution of a national message and determine whether improvements are needed.”

So far, so normal. The part they don’t like? “The EAS is a national public warning system that provides the President with the communications capability to address the nation during a national emergency,” the release reads.

Do you think that this was a massive overreaction?
Yes No
“The test is made available to EAS participants (i.e., radio and television broadcasters, cable systems, satellite radio and television providers, and wireline video providers) and is scheduled to last approximately one minute. The test message will be similar to regular monthly EAS test messages with which the public is familiar.”

We’re going to warn you that there’s some profanity ahead, because apparently nobody on the left can talk about the president without having to resort to swear words. Reader discretion is advised.

Josh Marshall, who runs Talking Points Memo, probably had the archetypal response:

At least one respondent evinced some sanity:

Oh good grief. This isn't about pushing out political texts. It's for life endangering emergencies.

— HuskyCaucasian (@HuskyCaucasian) September 14, 2018

Exactly. This isn’t tweeting or anything like that. It’s a test message for the event of an emergency. The idea that Trump is going to send out something like “WARNING: I’m the best at being president and you shouldn’t vote for anyone but me” during the 2020 campaign is so beyond absurd at face value that I question why anyone would believe it.

Then again, there are so many things I question why so many on the left would believe in the first place regarding Trump. I suppose I shouldn’t be shocked that they think he’s going to use the new millennium version of the Emergency Broadcast System as his own personal Twitter. Good grief, indeed.

As Hurricane Florence approached the eastern seaboard, President Donald Trump issued an emergency order, warning people in the Carolinas and mid-Atlantic states to prepare and authorizing relief efforts ahead of time.

Trump urged those in the storm’s path to be safe as he authorized the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA to prepare disaster relief efforts for “the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population,” a White House statement said Monday.

“Please be prepared, be careful and be SAFE!” Trump said in a tweet Monday evening.

Hurricane wallops Carolinas
Trump’s order came as Florence was still hundreds of miles off the coast. Hurricane experts then warned of a possible build-up to a category 5 storm.

The storm finally made landfall at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina on Friday morning as a category 1 storm with 90 mph winds. The storm has flooded streets with rain and ocean water and ripped buildings and trees apart.

As of Friday morning, two deaths had been attributed to the storm. A mother and infant were killed when a tree fell on their Wilmington home.

More than 60 people had to be rescued from a collapsing motel in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Meanwhile, flooding left dozens of residents in hard-hit New Bern stranded in homes, in cars, and on rooftops. Police saved about 150 to 200 in New Bern, but some 150 are still waiting to be rescued.

The drama surrounding the recovery efforts in Puerto Rico just got a lot more interesting.

A picture was recently circulated showing millions of bottles of water that were never handed out to Puerto Rico’s citizens after Hurricane Maria last year.
Take a look:

BREAKING: What may be millions of water bottles. meant for victims of Hurricane Maria, have been sitting on a runway in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, since last year, according to @FEMA, which confirmed the news to me, late tonight, after pictures, posted today on social media, went viral.

What Nobody Will Say
To those who paid attention to the news, it was very clear that some political officials in Puerto Rico were working against President Donald Trump during the recovery efforts following Hurricane Maria.

While FEMA was doing everything it could to help, people like Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz were too busy fighting Trump to help the people that needed it most.

That picture of the water is yet another example of how bad local officials were failing their citizens.

Commerce First
The reason behind local officials wasting the water was apparently economic.

Puerto Rico is a tourist destination. As such, local officials wanted businesses to open and thrive to start to rebuild the economy — but at what cost?

FEMA officials stated they had disbursed as much water as they could to every local agency that could store it.

But when businesses started to open, the “excess” water was no longer being accepted because local officials did not want to hurt the local economy any more than the storm had already done.

Storage Issues
The storage fees for the water were also starting to eat up relief money in huge chunks.

The estimated costs for storing the water were $300,000 per day.

To save money, the water was moved to a local airstrip for storage and covered in case it was needed again.

Do you think Puerto Rico officials are more to blame for the deaths after Hurricane Maria than Trump?
Yes
No
This account seems to back up Trump’s October 2017 claim that the military was actually being used to distribute relief supplies because local officials were either unable or unwilling to do it.

Clearly, there was a breakdown locally.

Local officials need to be willing to work with FEMA for the good of their citizens. No exceptions.

Trump calls out ‘radical Islamist terrorists’ for tragedies of Sept. 11, 2001

Trump calls out ‘radical Islamist terrorists’ for tragedies of Sept. 11, 2001
https://www.patriotnewsalerts.com/trump-radical-islamist-terrorists/?utm_source=pna2&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=pna2-1
One of the many things about former President Barack Obama that so many Americans found absolutely appalling was his seeming inability to utter the words “radical,” “Islamist,” and “terrorists” in the same sentence.

But President Donald Trump is not beholden to liberal political correctness, however, as was made clear when he specifically cited “radical Islamist terrorists” on Monday as being responsible for the horrific attacks on America in 2001.

Presidential Proclamation
Trump issued a Presidential Proclamation on Monday, Sept. 10, which declared Sept. 11 to be “Patriot Day” in honor of the lives lost and bravery exhibited on that fateful day 17 years ago.

“On Patriot Day, we honor the memories of the nearly 3,000 precious lives we lost on September 11, 2001, and of every hero who has given their life since that day to protect our safety and our freedom,” Trump wrote.

“Although that fateful Tuesday 17 years ago began like any other, it erupted into horror and anguish when radical Islamist terrorists carried out an unprecedented attack on our homeland,” he continued, using the phrase his predecessor so studiously, and at times absurdly, avoided at all costs.

“In New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, the enemies of liberty took aim on America, but their evil acts could not crush our spirit, overcome our will, or loosen our commitment to freedom,” Trump added.

Day of honor
Trump’s proclamation also took note of the incredible bravery and ultimate sacrifice displayed by some during and in the aftermath of the terrible atrocity, whether those heroes were first responders rushing into danger to save the lives of others or ordinary citizens who acted extraordinarily in the extreme circumstance to do the same, not to mention all those who risked their health later during the extensive clean-up and recovery efforts.

“The noble sacrifices of these true patriots are forged into the great history of America,” the president wrote.

Referencing a congressional joint resolution issued in December 2001, Trump went on to declare Sept. 11 of each year going forward as “Patriot Day” in honor of all of those who made sacrifices.

As such, the American flag at the White House and “all departments, agencies, and instrumentalities of the United States” would be flown at half-staff for the day, and Trump encouraged the governors of all U.S. states and territories to follow suit in the honorary observance.

Are you glad that President Trump is unafraid to use the accurate phrase "radical Islamist terrorists"?
Yes
No
Obama was inexplicably hard-pressed to call out “radical Islamist terrorism” as the very real and very dangerous threat to America and the West, despite great consternation from Americans who could plainly see the threat that has cost America thousands of lives over the years.

But Trump has no such qualms about calling things as he sees them. He vowed in 2016 to call “radical Islamist terrorists” exactly what they are, and that is yet another promise he has kept since taking office.

Parkland Dad Swoops in After MSNBC Reporter Takes 9/11 Shot at Trump

President Donald Trump’s public statements and actions have led some critics to opine that he is incapable of showing the compassion Americans expect from a commander in chief.
For the father of one student killed in a mass school shooting earlier this year, however, Trump’s behavior behind closed doors revealed a different side of his personality.
Andrew Pollack spoke out in defense of the president following widespread denouncement of the gesture Trump used when arriving in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, for the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The father, whose daughter, Meadow, was killed in the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stonheman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, told the The Daily Caller that media commentary about Trump’s inability to console grieving citizens is “bogus.”
One such comment came from MSNBC’s Geoff Bennett, who said Trump seems incapable of expressing appropriate emotion.

“Clearly, the president was responding to people who were happy to see him,” the reporter said. “He got a lot of applause lines here today.”
Suggesting self-promotion was the primary motivation for the president, Bennett said it is “true … that he’s not yet really displayed a capacity for the pastoral elements of the presidency.”
Though Pollack did not directly address the president’s public displays that have evoked harsh rebukes from various political commentators, he said Trump has displayed sincerity during their private meetings.
“I’ve met him three times privately,” he told The Daily Caller. “He always makes a point to meet myself and family and remembers my daughter, Meadow.”
Claiming the president “can be empathetic and compassionate,” Pollack said that the “media just doesn’t show that side of his personality.”
The story caught the attention of Trump supporters on social media.

Nancy Pelosi has no intention of stepping aside: ‘As long as Trump’s here, I’m here’

Nancy Pelosi has no intention of stepping aside: ‘As long as Trump’s here, I’m here’
https://www.conservativeinstitute.org/conservative-news/pelosi-remain-trump-office.htm?
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi plans to stick around for as long as President Donald Trump is in office.

The Democrat leader told CNN in a Monday night interview that “as long as Trump’s here, I’m here,” even as she admitted that it’s time for some “new blood” in the party.

Pelosi: I won’t leave till Trump does
Pelosi sat down with CNN’s Christian Amanpour to talk about the midterms, the Democratic party, and her own political future. Amanpour asked Pelosi about the challenges to her leadership from a younger generation of Democrats who say it’s time for a change.

“I do agree that it’s time for new blood and we should move on, and if Hillary Clinton had won and the Affordable Care Act was protected — I feel very proprietary about that — I was happy to go my way,” she said.

Pelosi said that since Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election, it was important for her to stay where she is to make sure women are at the table. She also mentioned the vulnerability of the Affordable Care Act under the Trump administration.

“They give me the honor of serving and it’s up to them to choose who comes next. But to have no woman at the table and to have the Affordable Care Act at risk, I said, ‘As long as [Trump’s] here, I’m here,’” she said.

“45,” she clarified, referring to Trump by number rather than by name.

Impeachment if “facts are there”
Pelosi said that it’s “up to the caucus to decide” but that she’s confident that she “will be” Speaker of the House. But more than 50 Democrats running in the midterms, including nine incumbents, have said they will not back her while dozens more have evaded the question.

Amanpour broached a topic that highlighted a split between Pelosi and the younger, more progressive wing of the party advocating new leadership: impeachment. While the party’s radicals have called for impeachment vocally and often, Pelosi has mostly demurred.

Pelosi told Amanpour that seeking impeachment is “divisive” but proceedings could be on the table if the “facts are there.”
“Well, I don’t think that impeachment should be engaged in for political reason but I don’t think it should be avoided for a political reason. In other words, if the facts are there, then it takes us to a place. But that is not our priority. Our priority, again, unifying.”

For impeachment to become more than a progressive fantasy, Democrats must take back the House. Pelosi said her party would win handily if the midterms were held today, with women leading the way.
Do you suspect Nancy Pelosi will hold on to whatever power she can for as long as she can?
Yes
No
“If the election were held today, we would win overwhelmingly and women would lead the way,” she said. “We have so many excellent women candidates from women across the country. Women marched and then they ran, and now they’re running and now they’re going to be members of Congress.”
