Nancy Pelosi has no intention of stepping aside: ‘As long as Trump’s here, I’m here’
https://www.conservativeinstitute.org/conservative-news/pelosi-remain-trump-office.htm?
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi plans to stick around for as long as President Donald Trump is in office.
The Democrat leader told CNN in a Monday night interview that “as long as Trump’s here, I’m here,” even as she admitted that it’s time for some “new blood” in the party.
Pelosi: I won’t leave till Trump does
Pelosi sat down with CNN’s Christian Amanpour to talk about the midterms, the Democratic party, and her own political future. Amanpour asked Pelosi about the challenges to her leadership from a younger generation of Democrats who say it’s time for a change.
“I do agree that it’s time for new blood and we should move on, and if Hillary Clinton had won and the Affordable Care Act was protected — I feel very proprietary about that — I was happy to go my way,” she said.
Pelosi said that since Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election, it was important for her to stay where she is to make sure women are at the table. She also mentioned the vulnerability of the Affordable Care Act under the Trump administration.
“They give me the honor of serving and it’s up to them to choose who comes next. But to have no woman at the table and to have the Affordable Care Act at risk, I said, ‘As long as [Trump’s] here, I’m here,’” she said.
“45,” she clarified, referring to Trump by number rather than by name.
Impeachment if “facts are there”
Pelosi said that it’s “up to the caucus to decide” but that she’s confident that she “will be” Speaker of the House. But more than 50 Democrats running in the midterms, including nine incumbents, have said they will not back her while dozens more have evaded the question.
Amanpour broached a topic that highlighted a split between Pelosi and the younger, more progressive wing of the party advocating new leadership: impeachment. While the party’s radicals have called for impeachment vocally and often, Pelosi has mostly demurred.
Pelosi told Amanpour that seeking impeachment is “divisive” but proceedings could be on the table if the “facts are there.”
“Well, I don’t think that impeachment should be engaged in for political reason but I don’t think it should be avoided for a political reason. In other words, if the facts are there, then it takes us to a place. But that is not our priority. Our priority, again, unifying.”
For impeachment to become more than a progressive fantasy, Democrats must take back the House. Pelosi said her party would win handily if the midterms were held today, with women leading the way.
Do you suspect Nancy Pelosi will hold on to whatever power she can for as long as she can?
Yes
No
“If the election were held today, we would win overwhelmingly and women would lead the way,” she said. “We have so many excellent women candidates from women across the country. Women marched and then they ran, and now they’re running and now they’re going to be members of Congress.”

“Flight 93 was hijacked by evil men bent on terror and conquest. Passengers and crew members began using their phones to call home,” Trump said.
“In the last 20 minutes, many placed their final calls home, whispering those eternal words, I love you,” he continued. “Some said the Lord’s prayer, and then they bravely charged the cockpit. They attacked the enemy, they fought until the very end, and they stopped the forces of terror and defeated this wicked, horrible, evil plan.”
The president said the crash site represents a monument to “American defiance” in the spirit of the Flight 93 passengers who fought back against the 9/11 hijackers and forced the plane down before it could strike Washington, D.C.
Trump signed a proclamation commemorating 9/11 designating Tuesday as “Patriots Day,” saying, “today, we honor the memories of the souls we lost on September 11, 2001, and pay tribute to all of the patriots who have sacrificed their lives in defense of freedom. We pray for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen currently serving our Nation in harm’s way.”

Democratic Socialist Makes It Behind Trump at Rally, Secret Service Intervenes

Plaid Shirt Guy. If you don’t know who he is, he first grabbed national attention while standing behind President Donald Trump during his Billings, Montana rally appearance.
The young man was attention-grabbing because the plaid shirt he was wearing stood out so much from everyone else’s apparel. But that is not the only reason why “#plaidshirtguy” is getting so much attention.
During Trump’s speech, the plaid shirt guy continually made faces at the cameras and even mouthed words, seemingly in response to what Trump was saying. And at one point, he was busy doing something that turned out to be him putting on a pin.
Social media went crazy with his actions and the fact he was quickly replaced. What they didn’t know is that the Secret Service then met with him.
Some did, however, figure out that the pin he put on for the cameras was for the Democratic Socialist party.

During an interview with CNN, Linfesty presented another possible cause for his removal. He said it could have been due to him not being enthusiastic the way they’d been asked to be prior to being placed behind the president.

However, the Billings Gazette wrote that one of their reporters at the event “saw staffers in the press pen looking at a photo in which Linfesty was circled.” Later, after he put on his pin, “The same group of staffers reviewed a photo of the emblem and searched online for more information. A short while later, Linfesty was removed.”
Linfesty told CNN that he wasn’t there to protest and that the exaggerated facial expressions he made as Trump spoke were just his honest reactions.
“I just wanted to go, just see the President and hear what he had to say. I mean, I’m not going to pass up the opportunity to see the President of the United States.”
“When I got back there, I knew that I was going to be genuine. I was going to give my actual reaction to the things he said. So whenever I disagree with him, you could tell that I disagreed. But whenever I agreed with him, you know, I clapped.”
But some on Twitter disagreed with his claim of not being there to protest, noting his other actions — along with some choice language.

Trump threatens use of military to build wall at Mexican border

While funding for President Donald Trump’s border wall continues to be blocked in Congress, it seems the president himself has found a way around their games.
Trump is reportedly threatening to use the U.S. military to build the wall if Congress won’t fund it.
Hole Card
Like any good poker player, Trump has been sitting on a loaded hand without letting his opponents know about it until the final bet.
Democrats are refusing to budge on the border wall.
They know if they do, they are feeding right into Trump’s hand.
There is no way Democrats can allow this president and the GOP to go on the campaign trail claiming victory against illegal immigration.
With the clock ticking, Trump is finally ready to use the tools at his disposal to accomplish his end game.
He recently revealed he is ready to put our military to work building the wall if Congress continues to hold funding hostage.
They Can’t Stop Him
While Democrats can whine all they want, there really isn’t all that much they can do if Trump decides to play this card.
He would be well within his powers as president to put the Army Corps of Engineers to work building a wall.
President Trump is adamant that he would prefer not to circumvent Congress, but he will if necessary.
When Defense Department officials were asked about it, they sounded rather excited about the possible task.
One official said “[the Army Corps of Engineers] build levees that hold back massive walls of water, they can build one to hold back drugs and human traffickers.”
It would probably cost far less to build the wall with our military than it would to contract the job out to the private sector anyway.
Should Trump Use the Military to Build the Wall?
Yes
No
One thing is for certain though: with midterm elections looming and the Trump administration needing something positive in the headlines, it is only a matter of time before he turns that card over and pushes all in.

Are you tired of winning yet? Its a common refrain seen on social media every time President Donald Trump keeps a campaign promise. But critics have plagued him with skepticism about being able to keep one of his biggest promises: building the southern border wall, and at Mexico’s expense.

But now it seems said critics may have to eat crow. According to conservative radio talk show host Wayne Allyn Root, Trump just kept that very promise and America is winning, yet again.
“That was all before President Trump announced a United States-Mexico trade agreement. Because Trump talked tough and never gave in, US workers will benefit,” he wrote. “US carmakers will benefit. US manufacturers will benefit. US taxpayers will benefit. Trump did it. He won. We all won.”
“Trump announced he will terminate NAFTA,” he continued. “While we don’t know all the details yet, I guarantee this new trade deal will save us tens of billions, perhaps hundreds of billions of dollars over the next decade.”
TRENDING: Obama Gets Ruthless History Lesson After Claiming He Never Attacked the Media
“Since the wall with Mexico costs about $25 billion, Trump just forced Mexico (whether they know it, or not) to pay for the wall. Once again, Trump accomplished what establishment politicians of both parties said could never be done.”
Will this trade deal result in Mexico paying for the wall?
Yes No

According to The Hill, during a “meeting with FIFA and U.S. Soccer officials about the 2026 men’s World Cup,” Trump was asked about about the border wall. Trump’s response was that “the wall will be paid for very easily by Mexico. It will ultimately be paid for by Mexico.”
Following this statement, the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Luis Videgaray Caso took to Twitter to express, again, that Mexico will not pay for the wall.
Luis Videgaray Caso
@LVidegaray
We just reached a trade understanding with the US, and the outlook for the relationship between our two countries is very positive. We will NEVER pay for a wall, however. That has been absolutely clear from the very beginning.

This, however, does not take into consideration the explanation Root outlined for how they actually will, knowingly or not, pay for the wall, via the trade deal.
The establishment media has been rife headlines proclaiming that, “No, Mexico won’t pay for the wall, no matter what Trump says” rhetoric.
Even on social media, his critics are disputing his claim.
But, as with Caso, none have looked at the simple math of the deal the way Root did.
Interestingly, on Twitter, Trump has not yet been taking a victory lap regarding the wall. He’s been hit hard for months about the wall promise but his tweets focused on other benefits of the trade deal with Mexico.

He began with high praise for all involved in making the deal happen:

Root pointed out that Trump is taking a page from Rush Limbaugh’s book with a “Don’t doubt me” standard.
He wrote: “(W)ith Donald J. Trump there are no such words as ‘never’ or ‘impossible.’ Trump has chutzpah. Trump has cajones. Trump aims for the moon. Trump is combative and aggressive. Trump is driven to do what others say cannot be done. Trump is an eternal optimist. He accepts nothing less #WINNING.”
It is this, perhaps, that plays a big role in Trump’s popularity with his supporters and one-time doubters, alike. Not only has he been keeping his promises, but he tirelessly fights the good fight for America, regardless of what his critics say.

One thing is for certain though: with midterm elections looming and the Trump administration needing something positive in the headlines, it is only a matter of time before he turns that card over and pushes all in.
Root: Trump Just Got Mexico To Pay for the Wall and They Didn’t Even Notice

According to The Hill, during a “meeting with FIFA and U.S. Soccer officials about the 2026 men’s World Cup,” Trump was asked about about the border wall. Trump’s response was that “the wall will be paid for very easily by Mexico. It will ultimately be paid for by Mexico.”
Following this statement, the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Luis Videgaray Caso took to Twitter to express, again, that Mexico will not pay for the wall.
Luis Videgaray Caso
@LVidegaray

President Donald Trump did not criticize Pope Francis for his response to the sexual abuse scandals recently uncovered in the Catholic Church.
“To me, it’s a very sad story. The Pope is handling it, I guess, the best anyone can handle it,” Trump said in an interview with the Daily Caller. “How is he going to handle it?”
Trump said he was “sad” about the scandal which has stretched back about 70 years.
“I think it’s having a really negative impact on the Catholic Church,” he said. “I think it’s very sad, to me it’s one of the sadder stories ’cause I respect so much the Catholic Church.”
He also expressed surprise about the accusations of abuse against Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who resigned after allegations of sexual abuse of boys was made public.
“I’m surprised at McCarrick,” he said. “Everyone knew him and so incredible to see these things. It’s devastating for the Catholic Church.”

Elizabeth Warren wants to use the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from power
https://www.patriotnewsalerts.com/warren-wants-25th-amendment/?utm_medium=ci&utm_source=push&utm_campaign=pna
The fallout from the scathing New York Times op-ed is starting.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), a potential 2020 presidential candidate, is demanding the 25th Amendment be invoked to remove President Donald Trump from office.
Damning Letter
This is not the first time Democrats have tried to suggest the 25th Amendment needs to be invoked.
Up to this point, though, it was treated as nothing more than political fodder.
Now, with that op-ed, the Democrats can actually make a case.
The op-ed paints a picture of a president that cannot be trusted.
It gives the impression Trump is a maniac that is simply out of control and needs to be managed.
The most damning part of the letter is the suggestion that a “safe state” inside the White House is filtering the information Trump receives for fear he may act impulsively.
Opportunity Strikes
Warren, ever the opportunist, is using that op-ed to fire off attack after attack against Trump.
Many believe these attacks are merely groundwork for a 2020 presidential run.
She left little room for debate about where she stands, stating: “If senior administration officials think the President of the United States is not able to do his job, then they should invoke the 25th Amendment.”
“The Constitution provides for a procedure whenever the vice president and senior officials think the president can’t do his job,” Warren added. “It does not provide that senior officials go around the president – take documents off his desk, write anonymous op-eds … Every one of these officials have sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States. It’s time for them to do their job.”
While we still do not know who wrote the op-ed, we do know that person may have singlehandedly ruined any chance Trump has of winning a second term.
Trump’s most ardent supporters will not waiver, but conservatives who are already on the fence are starting to wonder if voting for Trump in the next election is wise.
Sadly, the media is actually celebrating the op-ed and treating it as a victory rather than the national security problem it presents.
Trump may not be what most would consider a traditional politician, but his voters knew exactly what they were getting when they cast their votes.
Do You Think Warren Can Beat Trump in a Presidential Election?
Yes
No

Thus far, Trump has not disappointed them in what he has delivered to the people of his country.
Even sadder is the fact he is being judged for his personality rather than what he has accomplished.
It’s too bad the same can’t be said about Sen. Warren.

In keeping the author anonymous, the Times broke with a long-standing precedent — because they thought it “deserved an airing.”
The Op-Ed
Americans on both the left and right are in an uproar over the revelations in the op-ed.
While the “gutless” “coward”, as Press Secretary Sarah Sanders described the author, refused to be named, he or she admitted that “like-minded colleagues and I have vowed to thwart parts of [Trump’s] agenda.”
According to the piece, these are policies this individual disagrees with.
That is not his or her decision, though.
President Trump was elected to office by the people of this country to make good on his campaign promises.
That is what he is trying to do, but now we know why certain policies have been failing.
A Coup
The President himself hinted at treason, but this sounds more like a coup in the White House.
The individual that penned the article stated they are not alone in this effort.
There are apparently several individuals involved.
It is bad enough one person is acting in such a manner but multiple people represent a conspiracy to take over our government.
Trump is 100 percent right in this case. The individual in question must be identified ASAP.

If this coward will not come forward, Trump must do whatever is necessary to have this person identified and if need be, put them on trial for treason to the United States of America.
NYT Credibility Shot: Senior Official Turned Out To Be Intern in Past Hit Piece

The New York Times published an opinionated hit piece against President Donald Trump on Wednesday, but what else is new?
The anonymously written op-ed article, titled “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration,” was purportedly penned by a “senior official” in Trump’s administration. It asserted that a collection of other “senior officials” are part of a broader, right-leaning “resistance” inside the administration that is “thwarting” the president’s “misguided impulses” to save the country from Trump’s petty recklessness.
This, even as the supposed “senior official” author admitted that many of Trump’s policies “have already made America safer and more prosperous,” though the author insisted that was the case in spite of, and not because of, Trump himself.
Unsurprisingly, the op-ed sparked plenty of controversy and outrage on all sides and provoked conspiratorial conversations about exactly who this anonymous “senior official” is.
Using clues such as linguistic mannerisms and specific words contained within the article, guesses have ranged from Vice President Mike Pence to a number of different cabinet-level officials to other truly “senior” officials in the top tier of the administration’s several agencies and departments.
TRENDING: Mattis Doesn’t Take Kindly to Woodward Lies, Blasts with Marine-Grade Response
But if Trump’s White House has engaged in a “witch hunt” of its own to identify the anonymous author of The Times’ hit piece, an op-ed in Townhall suggested the hunters avert their gaze from the cabinet and top tier of the administration and search a little bit lower on the totem pole to find the potentially seditious insider.
That Townhall piece noted that The Times has a history of inflating and over-exaggerating the stature or seniority of its anonymous sources from within the government, and pointed to a rather glaring example of the practice that occurred in 2011.
At that time, the explosive growth in natural gas energy production was gaining steam in large part because of technological progress in a new method of drilling known as hydraulic fracturing. Better known as “fracking,” it was widely opposed by the left, to include the Obama administration and its liberal mouthpieces at The Times.
A writer for The Times published a series of anti-fracking articles in the paper, one of which anonymously cited emails from three “senior” insiders — an energy industry analyst, a federal analyst and a senior administration official — who were all opposed to the shale energy boom and the industry’s methods used to extract it.
Do you suspect the "senior" official in this hit piece from The Times is actually not a top tier administration member?
Yes No

A Senate investigation into the matter determined that the emails had all originated in the federal government’s Energy Information Agency, and even better than that, all the emails from the three “different” sources had actually come from just one person employed by the EIA.
On top of that, the one EIA employee was nowhere close to truly being a “senior” official of any sort. At the time he wrote the first email quoted by The Times, he was actually an intern with the EIA. He had been promoted one rung on the ladder to be an entry-level analyst when he wrote the others.
A deeper dive into that particular scandal was well documented in a 2011 article published by Energy In Depth, including a look at how harshly The Times’ own ombudsman judged the newspaper’s product.
There’s no way of knowing who The Times’ source is in this case, but history suggests the possibility that The Times has similarly exaggerated or inflated the seniority of this anti-Trump “senior official” who is part of a resistance movement inside Trump’s own administration.
The Times editors — who stated in an introduction to the op-ed that they know who the author is — have refused to reveal that individual’s identity, ostensibly to protect the writer from potential blowback or career-ending punishment.
RELATED: Melania Weighs In on NYT Op-Ed with Brilliant Lesson on America’s History
Perhaps just as likely is that they are protecting that person’s identity because it will be quite embarrassing for them if it is revealed that the “senior” official is in actuality some Trump-hating mid-level bureaucrat or low-level intern.
That’s if the op-ed was even written by a member of the administration at all, and wasn’t just some piece of fiction cooked up by The Times itself to smear Trump. (Hard as that might be to believe, it can’t be completely ruled out, given how fake some of the media’s “fake news” stories have been proven to be.)
Keep this in mind the next time somebody tries to assert how credible The New York Times is, when in reality it’s staffed by narrative-driven, leftist hacks who care more about pushing an agenda than actually reporting the news.

Sweden’s 'moderate' far right has a Nazi problem
Record breaking number of neo-Nazis and white nationalists running for office in the U.S.
Former President Barack Obama issued a scorching critique of his successor Friday, blasting President Donald Trump’s response to far-right violence, his pattern of pressuring the Justice Department, his policies and reminding voters that the economic recovery — one of Trump’s favorite talking points — began on his watch.
Obama criticized Trump’s response to the violence last year at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, that resulted in the death of one person.
“We’re supposed to stand up to discrimination,” Obama said. “And we’re sure as heck supposed to stand up clearly and unequivocally to Nazi sympathizers. How hard can that be, saying that Nazis are bad?”
Obama’s speech at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was delivered less than two months before midterm elections that could determine the course of Trump’s presidency. The remarks amounted to a stinging indictment of political life in the Trump era.

“It did not start with Donald Trump,” Obama said. “He is a symptom, not the cause. He’s just capitalizing on resentments that politicians have been fanning for years.”
Noting the history of former presidents avoiding the rough and tumble of politics, Obama acknowledged his sharp critique of Trump was something of a departure from tradition. But he said the political moment required a pushback and called for better discourse.
“Appealing to tribe, appealing to fear, pitting one group against another, telling people that order and security will be restored if it weren’t for those who don’t look like us or don’t sound like us or don’t pray like we do — that’s an old playbook,” he said. “It’s as old as time. And in a healthy democracy, it doesn’t work. But, Obama added, when there is a vacuum in democracy, “other voices fill the void. A politics of fear and resentment and retrenchment takes hold.”
Obama called Trump “the symptom, not the cause” of division and polarization in the U.S.
Trump, meanwhile, claims he fell asleep watching Obama’s speech. “I’m sorry, I watched it, but I fell asleep,” Trump said at a campaign appearance in Fargo, North Dakota. “I found he’s very good for sleeping.”
Trump said Obama was trying to take credit for this “incredible thing that’s happening to our country.”
Even as he has largely remained out of the spotlight, Obama made clear he’s paid close attention to the steady stream of headlines chronicling the Trump administration and said the news is a reminder of what’s at stake in the November midterm elections.
“Just a glance at recent headlines should tell you this moment really is different,” Obama said. “The stakes really are higher. The consequences of any of us sitting on the sidelines are more dire.” He later added: “This is not normal.”
He was especially stern in his condemnation of Trump’s pattern of pressuring law enforcement officials, including Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The president has repeatedly called on Sessions to fire special counsel Robert Mueller and earlier this week blamed the Justice Department for indicting two incumbent Republican members of Congress, arguing the moves could jeopardize their seats.

“It should not be a partisan issue to say that we do not pressure the attorney general or the FBI to use the criminal justice system as a cudgel to punish our political opponents,” Obama said. “Or to explicitly call on the attorney general to protect members of our own party from prosecution because an election happens to be coming up. I’m not making that up. that’s not hypothetical.
As Obama spoke, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that he believed Sessions should investigate the identity of the author of an anonymous New York Times opinion piece that was sharply critical of his leadership, saying the essay a “national security issue.”
Obama, reacting to the op-ed account, said “that’s not how our democracy is supposed to work.”
“The claim that everything will turn out OK because there are people inside the White House who secretly aren’t following the president’s orders, that is not a check,” Obama said. “I’m being serious here. That’s not how our democracy is supposed to work. These people aren’t elected. They’re not accountable.”
Obama also jabbed Trump on the issue the current president frequently heralds as one of his greatest achievements: The strong economy. Obama reminded the audience that the economic recovery began during his administration and defended his handling of the 2008 economic collapse.
“When you hear how great the economy’s doing right now, let’s just remember when this recovery started,” he said.
The speech was a preview of the argument that Obama is likely to make throughout the fall. On Saturday, the former president will stump for House Democratic candidates from California at an event in Orange County, a conservative-leaning part of California where Republicans are at risk of losing several congressional seats.
Next week, Obama plans to campaign in Ohio for Richard Cordray, the Democratic nominee for governor, and Ohio Democrats.
Obama’s campaign activity will continue through October and will include fundraising appearances, according to an Obama adviser. The adviser was not authorized to discuss Obama’s thinking publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity. While the former president will be visible throughout the general election, the adviser said that Obama will not be a daily presence on the campaign trail.
Republicans said voters won’t find Obama’s argument appealing.
“In 2016, voters rejected President Obama’s policies and his dismissiveness towards half the country,” Republican National Committee spokesman Michael Ahrens said in response to the Friday speech. “Doubling down on that strategy won’t work in 2018 either.”
Meanwhile, Michelle Obama is also stepping up her political involvement ahead of the November midterm election. She will headline voter registration rallies in Las Vegas and Miami later in September as part of a week of action by When We All Vote, the new nonpartisan organization that she co-chairs.

Our antibodies kick in and people of good will from across the political spectrum call out the bigots and the fear-mongers and work to compromise and get things done and promote the better angels of our nation.”

According to Bloomberg, in Woodward’s book, Kelly is attributed with calling Trump an “idiot.” Dowd allegedly called Trump a “liar” and Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, is alleged to have “heard Trump propose assassinating Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.” Haley also denies the book’s claims.
In the meantime, there have seemingly been no claims of false attributions in Loudon’s book. There has only been outrage over her statement that Trump may be sane, much less the “sanest person in the White House.” Neither fits the narrative being pushed by Trump’s detractors, who are quick to claim incompetence and insanity as justifications for impeachment.
In the end, it is the book buyers — and ultimately the American voters — who will decide what to believe about the president. For now, his endorsement continues to carry great weight with voters and his popularity continues to hold strong.

Trump announces cancellation of military aid funds to Pakistan

Trump announces cancellation of military aid funds to Pakistan

At the beginning of 2018 — with his first tweet of the New Year, actually — President Donald Trump placed Pakistan on notice that America’s rather generous financial aid to the central Asian nation would be suspended in light of Pakistan’s “lies and deceit” with regard to helping us in the War on Terror.
It appears Pakistan didn’t quite get the message, as it was just announced that $300 million in military aid to Pakistan had been canceled and reprogrammed to be spent on “other urgent priorities” in the region.
According to Reuters, the Pentagon cited Pakistan’s failure to decisively act against suspected Islamic extremists within their own borders.
Not pulling their weight in the War on Terror
Pakistan has long been accused of granting safe harbor from U.S. and coalition forces to Islamic terrorists and brutal Taliban militants from Afghanistan.
The $300 million was part of a larger aid program known as Coalition Support Funds, and Pakistan could have still received those funds this year if they had made a noticeable effort in helping to crack down on radical Islamic terrorists. But they made no distinguishable moves against the insurgents, and have now lost access to those funds.
The $300 million that was just cut was in addition to another $500 million in aid to Pakistan that had been canceled earlier in the year by Congress for similar reasons, totaling a full $800 million in scheduled aid to Pakistan that has been diverted to other, more-deserving recipients in the region.
The announced cut in aid came just days prior to a scheduled trip to Pakistan’s capital of Islamabad by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman, Marine Corps General Joseph Dunford. The aid in exchange for fighting radical militants will most certainly be a “primary part of the discussion.”
All about timing
This isn’t the first time that aid to Pakistan has been suspended or even canceled, and unless the Pakistani government makes some substantial changes, it likely won’t be the last.
However, this particular aid cut has come at a time when Pakistan is struggling financially with a weak currency and overwhelming debt that has them on the verge of approaching the International Monetary Fund — which is dominated by the U.S. — with hat in hand to secure a bailout for their debts.
That leaves them in a rather vulnerable position in that they really have no other choice but to cooperate with the U.S. in combating Islamic terrorism — or continue to be financially squeezed to the point of economic failure.
Do you support cutting off aid to Pakistan until they actually support efforts to fight terrorism?
Yes
No
The U.S. has reportedly granted Pakistan more than $33 billion in financial assistance since 2002 — $14 billion of which came from the CSF program — and while they have helped the War on Terror in some respects, their cooperation has been severely lacking in other areas.
This aid cut should serve as a warning to Pakistan that it is time for them to get fully on board in fighting against terrorism or risk being cut out of the very generous financial assistance America is more than willing to share with our allies who actually act like allies.

Trump Fires Back With His Own Incredible Response After McCain Funeral Turns Political

John McCain’s actual election rivals may have been George W. Bush back in 2000 and Barack Obama in 2008, but you’d be forgiven for wondering if they were all on the same team after the late senator’s funeral on Saturday.
“The same team” is even how former President Obama described himself and McCain as he addressed the gathered crowd at the senator’s funeral.
The Arizona lawmaker may have been gone, but the figures he approved to speak at the service definitely seemed to be on the same page when it came to using the memorial service as a platform to join forces against the sitting president of the United States.
Nobody mentioned Donald Trump by name, but as Joseph Curl pointed out at The Daily Wire, it was clear that three of the main speakers — Meghan McCain, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush — were of one mind when it came to backhanding the current president.
“We gather here to mourn the passing of American greatness — the real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the sacrifice he gave so willingly, nor the opportunistic appropriation of those who lived lives of comfort and privilege while he suffered and served,” McCain’s adult daughter Meghan chastised from the podium.

It was a cheap shot directed, without a doubt, at the billionaire Trump.
“The America of John McCain has no need to be made great again because America was always great,” Meghan McCain continued, obviously hammering at Trump’s famous slogan of “Make America Great Again.”
Remember, this was supposed to be a funeral.
Obama joined in when his time came.
Do you think the "team" that slammed Trump at the funeral actually proved his point about the establishment?
Yes No

“So much of our politics, our public life, our public discourse can seem small and mean and petty, trafficking in bombast and insult and phony controversies and manufactured outrage,” he declared pompously.
“It’s a politics that pretends to be brave and tough but in fact is born in fear. John called on us to be bigger than that. He called on us to be better than that,” stated the former president who beat the deceased in 2008 aided in large part by a media that slandered McCain constantly.
Then George W. Bush, a man who reportedly refused to vote for Trump against Hillary Clinton, took the stage.
“John was above all a man with a code,” Bush stated.
“He led by a set of public virtues that brought strength and purpose to his life and to his country. He was courageous, with a courage that frightened his captors and inspired his countrymen,” Bush said.

“He was honorable, always recognizing that his opponents were still patriots and human beings,” Bush continued, without clarifying what the definition of a patriot was or if every opponent met the criteria.
“He loved freedom with the passion of a man who knew its absence. He respected the dignity inherent in every life, a dignity that does not stop at borders,” Bush continued, likely taking a swipe at Trump’s push for border security.
One Republican president jabbing at another for daring to enforce the nation’s borders, at a funeral. Welcome to 2018.
In response, Trump could have gone on a rant. He could have pushed back against the almost certain efforts to chide him by establishment politicians who have had power for decades — basically, the very people he was elected to counter.
Instead, Trump posted just four words on Twitter on the evening of McCain’s funeral.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

For Trump supporters, those four words said it all.

While Media Bashes Trump over McCain Funeral, President Lends Air Force Two To Bring Body to DC

President Donald Trump kept to the background last week during the ceremonies honoring the late Sen. John McCain, but he ensured that McCain’s body was treated with respect.
Trump signed off on allowing the Arizona Republican to make his final trip to Washington on a Boeing C-32A, which would be officially called “Air Force Two” in its usual role of ferrying the vice president. The plane is also used at times by the first lady.
In reporting on the arrival of McCain’s body, WUSA in Washington described “the familiar state blue and white aircraft Thursday, a symbol of American power serving presidents, vice presidents and first ladies for 20 years.”
In a statement issued Aug. 27, Trump said he had acted in response to the late senators’ survivors.
“At the request of the McCain family, I have also authorized military transportation of Senator McCain’s remains from Arizona to Washington, D.C., military pallbearers and band support, and a horse and caisson transport during the service at the United States Naval Academy,” Trump said in the statement, as distributed by The Associated Press.

“Since the wall with Mexico costs about $25 billion, Trump just forced Mexico (whether they know it, or not) to pay for the wall. Once again, Trump accomplished what establishment politicians of both parties said could never be done.”
Will this trade deal result in Mexico paying for the wall?

According to The Hill, during a “meeting with FIFA and U.S. Soccer officials about the 2026 men’s World Cup,” Trump was asked about about the border wall. Trump’s response was that “the wall will be paid for very easily by Mexico. It will ultimately be paid for by Mexico.”
Following this statement, the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Luis Videgaray Caso took to Twitter to express, again, that Mexico will not pay for the wall.

The sweethearts of the Democrat party have just claimed another life.
A young boy was found dead in Long Island on Wednesday and police say he was the victim of MS-13.
No Doubt
Local Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder left no doubt who was behind the disturbing murder.
When asked, he simply stated, “It is MS-13.”
The boy’s body was found near Kellenberg Memorial High School.
Police estimate the body had been placed in the shallow grave more than a year ago.
This would place the boy’s murder at roughly the same time several other bodies were found in Long Island in April 2017.
The Truth
In reality, the members of the MS-13 gang are closer to the “animals” President Trump described than that disgusting documentary created by liberals.
People like Nancy Pelosi want everyone to think these gang members are ordinary people, but they are about as far from normal as one could be in today’s world.
The informal motto of the gang is “mata, roba, viola, controla,” which translates to “kill, steal, rape, and control.”
While the gang originated here in the United States, it has evolved over the years as a haven for undocumented immigrants, most of whom are from El Salvador.
Liberals are constantly making excuses to counter Trump’s narrative, and it makes them sound utterly ridiculous.
For instance, they say the administration got it wrong, as there is no “documentation” existing the gang operates under that motto.
It is not enough for liberals to hear these gang members say this regularly, as they want it in some type of employee handbook to legitimize it.
They also point to the “code” of MS-13 that raping someone within their community is looked upon negatively — but what about women outside of their community?
They are animals… period.
Do You Think MS-13 Gang Members are Animals?
Yes
No
“We will be relentless in the pursuit of going after these individuals that have committed crimes in Nassau County,” Ryder stated.
Our government should be taking the same attitude and rid our entire country of their presence.

The White House released a special statement Tuesday to commemorate 55 years since Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
The White House honored Dr. King’s message of equality and opportunity for all and touted the historically low black unemployment rate under the Trump administration as proof of that dream coming to life.
“Today, our Nation commemorates 55 years since the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during the March for Jobs and Freedom, and spoke passionately for his dream of equality and justice for all,” the statement begins, recalling the iconic moment in history.
Trump honors MLK, touts unemployment stats
“More than half a century after his speech, our Nation reaffirms our commitment to protecting the promise of America for all our people,” the statement continues.
The release goes on to mention the economic gains made by African-Americans. Black unemployment reached a record low of 6.6 percent in July since the Bureau of Labor Statistics started tracking employment in the 1970s.
“For this reason, my Administration is continuing to create an environment where the American Dream—and its many opportunities—are available for all hardworking Americans. As a result, for example, we have already seen the unemployment rate for African Americans reach a record low.”
The statement concludes with a message of optimism for further progress.
“As we mark this historic milestone, we remain ever optimistic of our shared future as children of God and citizens of this great Nation. May the memory of Dr. King, and the efforts we have made to fulfill his dream, remind us of the bonds of love and mutual respect that unite us.”
Was Dr. King's "I Have a Dream Speech" an important moment in American history?

Predictable liberal criticism
But not everybody was on board with the White House’s uplifting message. Anti-Trump Twitter users mocked the statement, calling it disingenuous, and liberal site Huffington Post suggested that Trump was taking advantage of the anniversary of King’s speech to draw attention to his own achievements.
Despite the usual naysayers, the Trump administration has a reason to celebrate the low unemployment numbers. The black unemployment rate ballooned under Obama. While it did taper off before Trump took office, it did not reach record lows until months after his inauguration.
The White House’s statement comes as approval of Trump’s performance has increased among African-Americans despite the left’s frequent accusations that Trump is a racist.
Liberals can keep being cynical if they want to, but black Americans getting jobs is a good way to remember Dr. King’s March for Jobs and Freedom. Meanwhile, the president will keep fighting to bring the American Dream back for all Americans.

Will Trump Take Palestinian ‘Right of Return’ Off the Table?
https://unitedwithisrael.org/will-trump-to-take-palestinian-right-of-return-off-the-table/?
Aug 26, 2018
In a move that could change decades of US policy, the Trump administration may stop recognizing as “refugees” the descendants of Palestinians who left territory that became the state of Israel.
By: The Algemeiner
The Trump administration is prepared to announce a new policy that effectively cancels the so-called “right of return” for Palestinians.
According to Israel’s Channel Two, the policy relates to both the refugees themselves and UNRWA, the UN agency that serves them.
UNRWA is controversial because it counts as refugees not only those Palestinians displaced in Israel’s 1948 War of Independence, but also their descendants. As a result, there are now over five million registered Palestinian refugees, an enormous number of whom have never set foot in what was British Mandatory Palestine.
The Palestinians insist the refugees must be allowed to return to Israel, which would effectively destroy the country and replace it with an Arab-majority state.
Channel Two reports that the Trump administration’s plan to solve the issue will be announced at the beginning of September and will have several stages.
First, a report will be issued on the Palestinian refugees, which will number them at approximately 500,000, rather than the five million registered by UNRWA.
Second, the US will formally reject UNRWA’s definition of refugee status as inheritable.
Third, UNRWA’s budget for operating in Judea and Samaria will be cut.
Fourth, Israel will be asked to reconsider allowing UNRWA to operate in Judea and Samaria altogether, in order to prevent the Arab countries from making up the shortfall from the US cuts.
According to Channel Two, the Israeli government sees the plan as a “historic step” on par with Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and move the US embassy there. They see it as effectively taking the refugee issue — one of the thorniest in the Middle East conflict — off the table.
The White House had no comment on the story, saying only that it would make its stance clear at the appropriate time.

The White House had no comment on the story, saying only that it would make its stance clear at the appropriate time.

President Trump is not letting Democrat attacks stop him from taking his own shots on the campaign trail.
While making an appearance at a rally in Ohio, Trump warned Ohioans against Richard Codray because he was “groomed by Pocahontas.”
Hitting the Trail
Trump has earned quite a few frequent flyer miles lately.
He is in Washington, D.C. by day and flying to different states at night to help local candidates.
It is no secret how important these mid-term elections are.
That importance has not been lost on Trump, as he continues to take the dais several times a week to tout a Republican running for office.
In Ohio, Jim Renacci is hoping to defeat Richard Cordray.
In addition to taking a shot at Cordray’s grooming, Trump warned the crowd that he would also “destroy the state.”
Teflon Don
Some would say Trump is walking a dangerous line as he continues with much of the same rhetoric he was using during the election season.
Trump has been amazingly resilient even as very harsh allegations have been levied against him.
Much of the reason why is because Trump has been able to very skillfully manipulate the news cycles.
A recent example of this is his appearance in Ohio as well as the canceling of Mike Pompeo’s North Korean trip.
Quickly, the media has shifted its focus of a Trump impeachment and his legal problems to his comments about Warren and Schumer in Ohio during the rally.
Importance of Ohio
Surely by now you have heard, “As goes Ohio, so goes the nation.”
Will Renacci defeat Cordray in Ohio?
Yes
No
Ohio has always been a measuring stick for how elections will go across the nation.
These mid-term elections could provide some significant information about where Republicans will stand come the 2020 election.

Trump Calls Out Disgusting MSM Tactics: They Dropped Tibbetts Story for Politics

The disappearance and murder of 20-year-old Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts stunned a nation. And then, suddenly, it was dropped.
Media outlets would say it was because of the fact that more important things have happened — after all, Hurricane Lane hit Hawaii and Hurricane Michael Cohen (and his sudden ubiquity) hit Washington.
President Donald Trump, however, thinks that the answer is something a little different: Cristhian Rivera.
Rivera is the 24-year-old illegal immigrant charged with murdering Tibbetts. Speaking at a dinner for the Ohio Republican Party this week, Trump said that the establishment media “didn’t want to cover it the way it should be covered” after they found out who the suspect was.
“Just this week we learned that Iowa authorities have charged an illegal alien in the murder of a college student — Mollie Tibbetts,” Trump said, according to Breitbart.
TRENDING: Democrat Uses Tragic John McCain News To Launch Sick Political Attack
He noted that “everybody was talking about Mollie,” who he described as a “beautiful, wonderful, incredible person.”
He also noted the media’s constant speculation that Tibbetts had been sighted and her father’s hope that she would come back alive.
“This went on for a long time,” the president said. “When they found out that it was this horrible illegal immigrant that viciously killed her, all of a sudden that story went down. They didn’t want to cover it the way it should be covered.
“What happened to Mollie was a disgrace and our hearts go out. We mourn for Mollie’s family,” he continued.
Do you think the murder of Mollie Tibbetts deserves more coverage?
Yes No

“Permanently separated. Obvious as it is offensive,” CNN’s Chris Cuomo said.
Obvious, yes.

Obvious as was the sudden decision to drop coverage of the Tibbetts case once it became clear the primary suspect was an illegal immigrant. (It’s worth noting the president probably ought to have mentioned he is still a suspect until he is convicted, something which his lawyers will obviously try to use to get their client out of his charge — but otherwise he’s spot on.)
Obvious as was how the phrase “permanently separated” became part of CNN’s lexicon during the drummed-up family separation crisis of 2018, a media-created event in which a fake story was hyped up and then use to hype up a kind-of-real story where the majority of the facts were deliberately ignored and obviously used to distract from good economic news.
Offensive? I don’t know. I tend to find an alleged murder by an illegal immigrant more offensive than someone trying to stop alleged murders committed by illegal immigrants.
This is just me, however. I’m not Chris Cuomo or anyone on CNN.

While Democrats insist that President Donald Trump is going to get impeached, the White House is telling everyone to pump the brakes a little bit.
During Wednesday’s press conference, Sarah Huckabee Sanders reiterated that President Trump “did nothing wrong.”

Won’t Let Up
Anyone that watched Sanders’ press conference could not help but wonder how she does this day in and day out.
The tone of the reporters alone would be enough to set most people off.
They are aggressive, accusatory, and flat out disrespectful.
The question about the alleged acts of the president was one of the first questions asked and answered during the presser.
That was not good enough for the media, though.
Virtually every member of the media rephrased the question in the hopes of getting Sanders to slip up, but it never happened.
Enough!
As the press conference wore on, Sanders’ frustration was very apparent.
After hearing the question about a half dozen times, Sanders finally had had enough.
“I have addressed this a number of times,” Sanders said. “Just because you continue to ask the same questions over and over, I’m not going to give you a different answer.”
The media then started to focus on Paul Manafort, with several members of the press pursuing the same line of questioning.
Sanders once again shut them all right down.
The president’s press secretary told them Manafort’s case has “nothing to do with the president.”
Not only does it have nothing to do with Trump, it has nothing to do with the Russian collusion case Robert Mueller is investigating, which is where those charges originated from.
Do You Support Sanders as Press Secretary?
Yes
No
But Sanders continued to be hounded about the possibility of a pardon for Manafort, something the president has never even discussed.
The display by the media is shameful but, sadly, it is probably just the beginning of what is shaping up to be a very negative news cycle for the president.

'We see the games they play': Erdogan says Ankara won't bow to US

Ankara won't bow before those who set up their "own order by exploiting the world" and make Turkey their "strategic target," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, referring to the US amid a deepening diplomatic rift.
"They were not able to make us collapse and they will never be. If they have their dollars, we have our God," the Turkish president told thousands of supporters of his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) who gathered for the Grand Congress in Ankara on Saturday.
Though he didn't name the US directly, his jab was clearly in reference to Washington, which has recently imposed economic sanctions on Turkey. He said that Ankara won't surrender "to those who apparently seemed like a strategic partner" while trying to make Turkey "a strategic target with all of their concrete steps."

Erdogan said that despite "some people" threatening Turkey with economic restrictions or foreign currency exchange rates, "we are telling them that we see the games they play and we challenge them." Turkey won't bow before those "who set up their own order by exploiting the world," he added.
Ankara and Washington have recently been at odds over the detention of American pastor Andrew Brunson in Turkey. Brunson, accused of aiding the failed military coup in 2016, is facing 35 years in a Turkish prison.
In a heightening of tensions, the US Treasury Department announced restrictions against Turkish Minister of Justice Abdulhamit Gul and Minister of Interior Suleyman Soylu. Later, US President Donald Trump doubled steel and aluminum tariffs on Turkish imports.

The pressure created by Washington against its NATO ally sparked a currency crisis in Turkey with the lira plummeting to a record low against the dollar soon after Trump's announcement of sanctions.
In response to Washington's "deliberate attacks" on the Turkish economy, Ankara announced tariffs on imports of certain goods from the US, including cars, alcohol, and tobacco.

According to freelance political writer Dan Glazebrook, by attacking the Turkish lira, Trump is "pushing the world towards a re-run of the 1997 currency crisis."
"All the conditions which prefigured the 1997 east Asian currency crisis are now effectively in place. All that's needed is a push – which is exactly what Trump has just given," he wrote in an op-ed to RT.
Evgeny Bakhrevsky, director of the Moscow-based Heritage Institute and Middle East researcher, told RT that US pressure on Turkey serves as an additional incentive for Ankara to seek closer ties with other nations, like China, Russia, and European states. "The Europeans will maintain the existing objections to certain Erdogan policies and continue to voice their concerns, but that won't stop them from developing pragmatic cooperation with Turkey," he said.

Following Erdogan's statement, some Turks have vented their anger at Washington's economic warfare in their own ways. Videos of Turkish people smashing, shooting, and setting iPhones on fire have recently become popular.

Trump using former Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy as a means of attack on Mueller and the Russia investigation immediately drew surprise and condemnation, given Trump’s close relationship with McCarthy’s protege Roy Cohn.
Cohn served as McCarthy's chief counsel for the Army–McCarthy hearings during the so-called "red scare" of the 1950s and was a U.S. Department of Justice prosecutor at the espionage trial of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg - which resulted in their executions.
According to NPR, “Trump met Cohn in 1973 in a Manhattan nightclub. The two became friends, allies, business associates. Some say Cohn was Trump's mentor, or even his surrogate father. This much is clear: Cohn was Trump's model in the handling of public relationships and media warfare.”
Trump himself praised Cohn in the “Art of the Deal,” writing, “"Tough as he was, Roy (Cohn, McCarthy's protege) always had a lot of friends, and I'm not embarrassed to say I was one. He was a truly loyal guy...a great guy to have on your side..."
When New York disbarred Cohn in 1986 for “dishonesty, fraud, deceit, and misrepresentation,” Trump testified on his behalf at the hearing. Cohn died of complications from AIDs in August of that year.
Trump critics have long found similarities between Trump and McCarthy as they both regularly launched unfounded accusations against opponents as a means of discrediting critics and creating chaos.
Ron Elving wrote that Melania Trump once said during the 2016 presidential campaign that "when you attack Donald, he will punch back 10 times harder." "That was Cohn's modus operandi for many years before he taught it to Trump," said Elving.
In June 1954 Senator Ralph E. Flanders, a Republican from Vermont, said “I have been led to remember the part which the Senator [McCarthy] played in the investigation of the Malmedy massacre and the strange tenderness which he displayed for the Nazi ruffians involved. Perhaps this would not have been enough to perpetuate foreboding, but his anti-Communism so completely parallels that of Adolf Hitler as to strike fear into the heart of any defenseless minority.” Flanders added, McCarthy, “spreads division and confusion wherever he goes.”
Flanders criticism of McCarthy was echoed throughout the U.S. media in August of 2017 when Trump refused to unequivocally condemn deadly violence by neo-Nazis and white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Below are three articles from 1953 to 1954 from the Jewish Telegraph Agency documenting criticism of McCarthy for claiming attacks again Roy Cohn were anti-Semitic:
Jewish Groups Assail Mccarthy for False “anti-semitic” Issue
July 24, 1953
NEW YORK (Jul. 23)
The American Jewish Congress, the Jewish Labor Committee and the 34 other national and local Jewish organizations affiliated with the National Community Relations Advisory Council today issued a joint statement assailing Senator Joseph R. McCarthy for charging with anti-Semitism, those who criticize his Jewish investigators Roy M. Cohn and David Schine.
The statement pointed out that every American has the night to express his views regarding the statements and actions of public official or his critics has no relevance or place in such discussions, it emphasized.
“Senator McCarthy’s characterization of criticisms of Messrs. Cohn and Schine as anti-Semitism is an irrespsonsible attempt to thwart the legitimate right of criticism, ” the statement said. “The injection of religious considerations in areas where they have no pertinence is a favorite device of demagogues. It is sadly ironic that this standard stock in trade of Communists and other totalitarian societies should be employed by one who claims to be in the forefront of the fight to preserve democratic institutions.
“As responsible Jewish bodies, we have never hesitated to challenge and identify those who falsely inject religious or racial issues into a discussion of national affairs. We condemn such attempts to mislead the American people and denounce such fraudulent efforts to confuse and distort public opinion. We shall continue with equal vigor to expose anti-Semitism and false charges of anti-Semitism from whatever source they may emanate, ” the statement concluded.
The National Council of Jewish Women, in a telegram to Sen. McCarthy, said: “One of the inexcusable devices of demagoguery is to avoid meeting public criticism on an issue by charges unrelated to it.” It added: “As American citizens, the Jews of the United States are accustomed to taking their chances in public life on the basis of merit and character. Nothing could be more inflammatory of anti-Semitism than the kind of irrelevant charge which you have made.”

Mccarthy Charged in Senate with Causing “foreboding” Among Jews
June 2, 1954
WASHINGTON (Jun. 1)
Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy was charged today on the floor of the Senate with causing “foreboding” among Jews. The charge was voiced by Sen. Ralph E. Flanders, Vermont Republican, who devoted a portion of a speech in the Senate to assailing McCarthy’s tactics.
Describing these tactics at great length, Sen. Flanders stated that besides other activities, Sen. McCarthy “spreads division and confusion wherever he goes. Note, for instance, the foreboding he inspires in our fellow citizens of Jewish blood and faith. Among them this is well nigh universal in spite of the fact that his two closest associates are Hebrews.”
In seeking the origin of what he described as “foreboding” on the part of American Jews, Sent Flanders said: “I have been led to remember the part which the Senator played in the investigation of the Malmedy massacre and the strange tenderness which he displayed for the Nazi ruffians involved. Perhaps this would not have been enough to perpetuate foreboding, but his anti-Communism so completely parallels that of Adolf Hitler as to strike fear into the heart of any defenseless minority.”
Sen. Flanders said Americans should always remember “that Communism and Nazism and other dictatorships resemble each other far more closely than any of them resembles the free world into which we were born and in which we hope our children and grandchildren will live.”
It is “not the Jews alone” who have “reason to be troubled,” he said. He pointed out that Sen. McCarthy was responsible for selecting J. B. Matthews as staff director although Mr. Matthews “charged the Protestant ministry with being in effect the center of Communist influence in this country.” Sen. Flanders also pointed to the concern he said was felt by many Catholics and cited the criticism levelled against Sen. McCarthy by Bishop Sheil of Chicago. He asserted that Sen. McCarthy is trying “to inflame religious and racial bigotry.”
MCCARTHY CHALLENGES SEN. FLANDERS TO TESTIFY UNDER OATH
Upon learning of Sen. Flanders’ speech, Sen. McCarthy temporarily interrupted the televised McCarthy-Stevens hearings to make an answer. He attacked Sen. Flanders’ speech and mentioned that Roy Cohn, the McCarthy committee chief counsel, is Jewish. He called the Flanders’ statements “vicious and dishonest.”
Sen. McCarthy urged that Sen. Flanders be requested to appear before the committee headed by Sen, Karl Mundt and he required to testify under oath. At first, McCarthy demanded that Sen. Flanders be subpoenaed but he changed his mind and had this striken from the record, replacing it with a demand that the Vermont Senator be “requested” to appear to face Sen. McCarthy and Mr. Cohn.

Trump: ‘All of the Fools’ Focused on Russia Should Start Looking at China, Too

President Donald Trump on Saturday pointed the finger at the foreign country he considers America’s real threat, calling those who fail to perceive the danger “fools.”
“All of the fools that are so focused on looking only at Russia should start also looking in another direction, China,” Trump tweeted. “But in the end, if we are smart, tough and well prepared, we will get along with everyone!”

All of the fools that are so focused on looking only at Russia should start also looking in another direction, China. But in the end, if we are smart, tough and well prepared, we will get along with everyone!
One expert said Trump’s China policy has veered away from the Obama-era approach of trying to use multi-national agreements to become China’s friend into a more direct bilateral competition.
“I do not see very many issues this administration is trying to work with China on,” said Bonnie Glaser, a China analyst at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington.

“The effort to come up with new things where our interests converge has been abandoned. I think this administration is in agreement that China is a competitor, and the effort here is really focused on how we have a more effective competitive strategy with China,” she said, according to The Washington Post.
Trump’s style of hardball may be producing results.
Later this week, a delegation of Chinese officials will come to Washington to resume talks with U.S. officials on issues related to trade, China’s commerce ministry said in a statement, according to Forbes.
“The Chinese side reiterated that it opposes unilateralism and trade protectionism and does not accept any unilateral trade restrictions,” the statement said.

The talks will take place Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, a new round of tariffs against China is scheduled to take effect.
China’s renewed interest in talks comes amid reports that the country’s economy is taking a hit from its duel with Trump.
“The Chinese government, in its totality, must not underestimate President Trump’s toughness and willingness to continue this battle to eliminate tariffs and nontariff barriers and quotas, to stop the theft of intellectual property and to stop the forced transfer of technology,” White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said Thursday on CNBC. “Those are the asks that we’ve been making now for quite some time.”
Steven W. Mosher, who authored the book, “Bully of Asia: Why China’s Dream is the New Threat to World Order,” wrote in a commentary piece for Fox News that Trump may have derailed a Chinese economy pundits thought was unstoppable.
“Under the Trump administration, the American economy is rising like a phoenix from the ashes of the over-regulation, over-taxation and bad trade deals that had threatened to suffocate it,” he wrote.

“China’s economic growth, on the other hand, is slowing under the burden of an aging population, massive corruption, unproductive investment and excessive debt. Add to this the growing risk that Chinese products will be gradually pushed out of their major export market – the United States – and you have the risk of a full-blown economic meltdown in China,” he wrote.
Or, as Michael Walsh wrote in a New York Post column published Saturday, Trump is using the economy like a weapon.
” … the Trump administration has apparently decided upon a new and smarter way to fight: employing resurgent American economic power in the forms of tariffs, sanctions and trade deals,” he wrote.
“Once convinced the US would never start a trade war, the Chinese now understand that Trump’s constant railing against their currency manipulation and unfair trading practices has been serious all along — and now he’s put some economic muscle where his mouth is,” Walsh added.

The mainstream media’s “peaceful” protestors were at it again this weekend, spewing their vitriolic hatred at not just the white supremacist group they came to oppose, but also at police, journalists and — with special emphasis — the president of the United States.
Dwarfing a subdued group of fewer than 40 white nationalists who required a constant armed escort as they marched through the nation’s capital, a conglomeration of “progressives, anarchists and black bloc thugs” gathered under the Antifa banner, itching for a fight. When they were disappointed, Antifa foot soldiers contented themselves with making assassination threats against President Donald Trump, and — according to the Daily Caller — the Secret Service were not amused.
In the name of peace
Unfurling banners that called for “Peace” and declared “Love Trumps Hate,” the progressive mob took to the streets, eventually consolidating at Lafayette Square, where chants of, “Love, not hate. That’s what makes America Great,” were heard. Daily Caller Reporter-at-Large Benny Johnson took the time to ask protestors, “If Donald Trump showed up here, what would you say or do?”
In less than one hour, no fewer than six leftist demonstrators threatened to cause physical harm or “murder the president.” In response, the Secret Service told Daily Caller that they “are aware of the incident” and are “investigating,” although they refused to elaborate on their ongoing “protective intelligence investigations” as a matter of policy.
“We’d have to do him like Gaddafi,” one masked protestor said, referring to Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi’s final moments when he was dragged through the streets by rebel forces in 2011, bloodied and beaten, before being dispatched by a burst from an AK-47 rifle.
“I would murder him, for the people,” said an unmasked young man without blinking.
