A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Many people speak with tremendous authority from the depths of their self-induced ignorance and cannot see they are actually in bondage.

SIGNS - SUN, MOON, STARS
"When the LORD delivered the Amorites before the children of Israel, Joshua spoke to the LORD; he said in the presence of the Israelites: — Stand still, O sun, at Gibeon, O moon, in the Valley of Aijalon! — So the sun stood still and the moon halted, while the nation wreaked revenge upon its enemies. Thus the sun halted in mid-heaven, and did not press on to set for a whole day; for the LORD fought for Israel. Neither before nor since has there ever been such a day, when the LORD heeded the words spoken by a man." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 10. 12 - 14 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

When Joshua and the children of Israel encountered an alliance of nations under a leader who called himself, "Adoni-Zedek (lord of righteousness)" ...the ONLY TRUE GOD WHO alone is righteous, defeated and crushed this pompous, egotistical heathen. The SUPREME ONE fought for Israel by casting down large hailstones from heaven on them and there were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword. [Joshua/Yehoshua 10. 11]

As from the beginning, so will the end be, CREATOR GOD will again use the sun, moon and stars as signs of HIS return. The UTMOST HIGH & LOFTY LORD GOD will thus commence HIS judgments on the unbelieving world. "Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken." [Matthew 24. 29] "The sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood." [Revelation 6. 12] "A third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night." [Revelation 8. 12]

The five kings who fought alongside Adoni-Zedek fled and hid themselves in a cave. And Joshua and the men of Israel put their feet on the necks of these enemies, then killed them. [Joshua/Yehoshua 10. 16 - 24] Likewise, in Revelation we see that "the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains and said to the mountains and rocks — Fall on us and hide us from the face of HIM WHO sits on the Throne and from the wrath of the LAMB! — For the Great Day of HIS wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" [Revelation 6. 15 - 17]

"Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe; Come and tread, for the winepress is full, the vats are overflowing! For great is their wickedness. Multitudes upon multitudes in the Valley of Decision ('Emeq Charuts)! For the Day of the LORD is at hand in the Valley of Decision. Sun and moon are darkened, and stars will withdraw their brightness. And the LORD will roar from Zion, and shout aloud from Jerusalem, so that heaven and earth tremble; but the LORD will be a SHELTER to HIS people, a REFUGE to the children of Israel. And you shall know that I the LORD GOD dwell in Zion, MY Holy Mount. And Jerusalem shall be holy; nevermore shall strangers pass through it." [Joel (Yoel) 3. 13 – 17 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

In the chaotic world we live in today, we need not be afraid or dismayed. However, we who are in MESSIAH YESHUA are to be strong and courageous knowing the KING OF GLORY will do the fighting for us. "Then comes the end, when HE delivers the Kingdom to GOD THE FATHER, when HE puts an end to all [other] rule and all authority and power. For HE must reign till HE has put all enemies under HIS feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death." [1 Corinthians 15. 24 - 26] We are more then conquerors — "for those who fear HIS NAME, the SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS shall arise with healing in HIS wings." [Malachi/Malakhi 4. 2] It will be worth it all when we see our LORD, KING JESUS!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
We offer YOU, our ETERNAL GOD, thanks and praise as we glorify YOUR NAME. Happy are we who praise YOU and declare YOUR holiness early and late, morning and evening — Hear, O Israel! the LORD our GOD, the LORD is ONE. Blessed be HIS NAME, WHOSE glorious Kingdom is for ever and ever.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Those people who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do. However, "When pride come, then comes shame; but with the humble (modest) is wisdom." [Proverbs/Mishle 11:2]

LAW & HOPE
"For the Law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; through which we draw near to GOD." [Hebrews 7. 19]

The Book of Hebrews focuses on the difference between the Levitical Priestly Laws of animal sacrifice in contrast to the Perfect Law of the blood of the LORD Y’ESHUA — the BETTER COVENANT.

The MASTER OF MERCY & TRUTH declared that the Law (Levitical Priestly Laws) could not make anyone perfect. One does not grow in his spirituality (become spiritually mature) if he follows the unprofitable Law which GOD has "put away." One draws near to the HOLY ONE not by keeping the Laws and commandments, but by following a BETTER HOPE — Y’ESHUA ha'MASHIACH, is the fulfillment of all the HEBREW SCRIPTURES!

"There arises another PRIEST WHO has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life...For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment (OLD COVENANT) because of its weakness and unprofitableness." [Hebrews 7. 15 - 16, 18]

The Law of Moses is called the "Law of a Carnal (fleshly) Commandment." When one is delivered from the fleshly commandment by believing in the LORD Y’ESHUA as the REDEEMER & LORD, they put themselves back under bondage if they continue to observe the carnal laws, which has to do with the flesh. In speaking of the Gentiles conforming to the laws and rituals of the OLD COVENANT, Peter declared to his own Jewish brothers that they were as a "yoke" and were difficult to bear. He questioned the Jews who were burdening the Gentiles with this yoke. He intimated that these rituals "under the Law" then were not a joy and did not make the Jewish person any better by observing them.

Speaking about Gentiles to the Jews, Peter said: "Now, therefore, why do you test GOD by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the LORD JESUS we shall be saved in the same manner as they." [Acts 15. 10 - 11]

It was not by the rituals of the Law (circumcision of the flesh) but by the GRACE OF THE LORD that Jew or Gentile shall be finally and completely saved. But didn't our Jewish brother, Paul, take the men who had taken a vow, and having been purified with them in keeping of the Law, entered the Temple? [Acts 21. 18 - 28] The challenge was in regards to circumcision; Paul was being accused of teaching the Jews not to circumcise their children, but this was a false charge. He did undergo the ritual of purification, as was the custom, to appease our own Jewish people and perhaps to try to win them to their MESSIAH. Yet this did not attract them to salvation, rather they tried to kill him after he had done this!

Also, our Father Abraham did not observe the works of the Law since he was before the Law. He did not observe the ceremonies, never kept any of the FEASTS OF THE LORD, Sabbaths, washings, and the like — yet he is called "the father of the Jew and non-Jew who believe in YESHUA!" [Romans 4. 11]

Note however, the Moral Law's of ALMIGHTY GOD have never changed and never will. MESSIAH Y’ESHUA said — "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven." [Matthew 5. 17 - 19] "And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the Law to fail." [Luke 16. 17] Right is always right, and wrong is always wrong in human behavior.

The Laws under the NEW COVENANT pertaining the Gentiles, that have been changed, are the Laws concerning "circumcision" [Acts 21. 20 - 25] and the "animal sacrifices." MESSIAH Y’ESHUA was the PERFECT FULFILLMENT of all the Sacrifice Laws.

HOLY SCRIPTURES show that in the MESSIAH there is no difference between Jew and Gentile when it pertains to following the NEW COVENANT. Both have been set free from bondage of the Carnal Commandment which has to do with fleshly works. They are now "spiritual" for they follow the "spiritual commandment" of the NEW COVENANT. One does not carry burdens of the Law when Y’ESHUA THE SAVIOR has delivered them from these burdens. Nor does anyone follow "a dead and profitless Law" when New Life and a BETTER COVENANT has come! Those who love the LORD JESUS, obey HIM!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
O GOD, keep my tongue from evil and my lips from speaking guile (deceit). Be my support when grief silences my voice, and my comfort when woe bends my spirit. Plant humility in my soul, and strengthen my heart with perfect faith in YOU. Help me to be strong in trial and temptation and to be patient and forgiving when others wrong me. Guide me by the Light of YOUR counsel, that I may ever find strength in YOU, my ROCK and my REDEEMER. Thank YOU, BLESSED SAVIOR!! Amen.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The HOLY BIBLE is an EXTRAORDINARY BOOK, expressing many norms and principles that have maintained their validity throughout thousands of years. It proclaims a vision of faith for men that is still valid and awaiting realization.

YOM KIPPUR
"In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, from evening to evening, you shall afflict your souls, exercise self-denial; and do no work at all — For on this day atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you of all your sins — It is a SABBATH OF REPENTANCE — a statute forever." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 29-31; 23. 27, 32 Tanakh, Torah]

Yom Kippur is the day of afflicting your souls. Perhaps the most important day of the Jewish Year, this is a day for repentance and forgiveness. Compare Leviticus to James and learn see for yourself how this "Sabbath of Sabbaths" is meaningful for true followers of MESSIAH YESHUA today.

Jews afflict their soul on Yom Kippur by fasting & praying. On the Day of Atonement in the Temple , the High Priest would announce: "O YEHOWAH, YOUR people, the House of Israel , have committed iniquity, have transgressed, have sinned before YOU! I beseech YOU by the NAME of YEHOWAH, make YOUR atonement for the iniquities and for the transgressions and for the sins wherein YOUR people, the House of Israel, have committed iniquity, have transgressed and sinned before YOU; as it is written in the TORAH of YOUR servant Moses, saying — "For on this Day atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you from all your sins; that you may be clean before YEHOWAH." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 30 Tanakh, Torah]

ALMIGHTY GOD pronounced a terrible decree upon those who did not have a day in which their sins were atoned for. But GOD OMNIPOTENT, in HIS mercy, has provided the WAY in which everyone can have a Day of Atonement — the ONLY WAY of forgiveness. . . HIS NAME is "YESHUA — IMMANU-EL, GOD with us."

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have assigned it to you for making an atonement for your lives upon the altar; it is the BLOOD, as life, that effects expiation." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 17. 11 Tanakh, Torah]

This is a prophecy of MESSIAH, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL to come. HE would be the INNOCENT SUBSTITUTE. Even as the innocent bulls and goats of the OLD COVENANT ceremonies who "shed their blood" — would die — and by this death the sins of the people would be forgiven. The OMNISCIENT LORD OF HOSTS gave HIS SON, YESHUA, as THE ATONEMENT for the soul when HIS blood was shed for our sin!

On Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), "Aaron shall take two he-goats and shall place lots upon them; one marked for the LORD and the other marked for Azazel (Scapegoat) ...and Aaron shall bring forward the goat designated by lot for the LORD, which he is to offer as a sin offering." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 8 - 9 Tanakh, Torah]

The goat, on which the lot marked for the LORD GOD fell, was slain — its blood carried by the High Priest into the Holy of Holies and placed upon the Mercy Seat. The High Priest had already taken the blood of a bullock into the Holiest for himself. When he returned to the people after their atonement — it was the second time the priest had made his appearance before them! And so it is with the GREATER HIGH PRIEST WHO came once to give HIS OWN blood. After the FATHER'S acceptance of the SACRIFICE, when the sins of the people are forgiven, YESHUA ha'MASHIACH will return at the appointed second time!

"Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the iniquities and transgressions of the Israelites putting them on the head of the goat; and it shall be sent off to the wilderness." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 21 Tanakh, Torah] This Scapegoat (Hebrew: Azazel) would carry the sins of the people far from them; it was a substitute; it was made sin that the people might be excused from the penalty of their sins! YESHUA ha'MASHIACH was the SCAPEGOAT, for HE was the SUBSTITUTE WHO died outside the city of Jerusalem . . . (in the wilderness — "outside the gate" Hebrews 13.12). JESUS OF NAZARETH was made sin that we might be made the righteousness of GOD in HIM! HE carried our sins away from us, removing them as far away as the east is from the west. MESSIAH has done more than "cover up" our sins, HE has blotted them out with HIS precious blood; they are to be remembered against us no more! "Much more then, having now been justified by HIS blood, we shall be saved from wrath through HIM. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to GOD through the death of HIS SON, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by HIS life." [Romans 5. 9 - 10]

Our WONDERFUL SAVIOR, by the sacrifice of HIMSELF, has inscribed our names in the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE and we shall never be separated from HIM. No longer is it necessary that a goat or bullock have its blood shed for the remission of sins once every year, for GOD'S LAMB shed HIS blood ONCE FOR ALL. Jew or Gentile who believe in HIM can rejoice that there is a Yom Kippur for time and eternity made possible through the PERFECT KAPPORAH (sacrificial covering) this UNIQUE ONE is YESHUA, THE ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON OF THE LIVING GOD!

Have you found the blood of atonement? "Behold! The LAMB OF GOD WHO takes away the sin of the world!" [John 1. 29] Are you trusting in GOD'S SMITTEN LAMB, the SUPREME SACRIFICE? The LORD MESSIAH YESHUA, JESUS — the only ONE WHO can satisfy your soul!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Welcome Shabbos Shabbason! According to the TORAH, Yom Kippur is called "Shabbos Shabbason" — a day of total rest.
O LORD our GRACIOUS & MERCIFUL GOD, YOU have given us in love this Sabbath Day for holiness and rest, the Day of Atonement for pardon, forgiveness, and atonement that we may, in love, obtain pardon thereon for all our iniquities.
O KING, pardon and forgive our iniquities and restore YOUR people; and let our eyes behold YOUR return in mercy to Zion . Please strengthen the bonds of friendship and fellowship among all the inhabitants of our land. Plant virtue in every soul, and may the love of YOUR HOLY NAME sanctify every home and every heart. Praised are YOU, O LORD, GIVER of peace. We again bless YOU, O LORD, WHOSE NAME is ALL-GOOD and unto WHOM it is becoming to give thanks!
The Shofar is blown 100 times at the end of the Yom Kippur service to signify that the Day of Repentance and introspection has come to an end. "Pitka Tava!" — trusting the "Heavenly note" in your future is a positive one!
Gmar Chatima Tova! (Literally) A good and final sealing. (Idiomatically) May you be inscribed in the BOOK OF LIFE for good! [There are five areas of physical involvement from which we remove ourselves on Yom Kippur: Eating or drinking; Washing; Applying oils/lotions to the skin; Marital relations; Wearing leather shoes.]
Days of Awe concluded DAY 40 of REPENTANCE We have come to the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur. Rejoice in the banishment of all ungodliness thorough our repentance. Take this encouragement with you: "Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the GOD WHO gives shalom (peace) will be with you." [Philippians 4:8-9] Fittingly, my prayer continues: "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10] . . . prepare to meet your GOD!

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

Delrifkah: HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. - Page 4 Empty Re: Delrifkah: HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY.

Post  Admin Fri 29 Sep 2017, 9:40 pm

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Fulfill GOD'S precepts joyfully, just as Israel accepted the TORAH at Mount Sinai — with exceedingly great joy.

BRIGHTNESS OF HIS GLORY
"WHO being the brightness of HIS glory and the express image of HIS person, and upholding all things by the word of HIS power, when HE had by HIMSELF purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the MAJESTY on HIGH." [Hebrews 1. 3]

This is one of SCRIPTURE'S most magnificent enlightenment of the PERSON and WORK of MESSIAH YESHUA. The word "brightness (Hebrew: nogahh)" literally means "bright, brilliant light, radiating-out, illuminate" conveying the energy outflow from the sun. The sun constitutes a immense generator of energy, more than sufficient to sustain all life on earth.

As the sun's energy rays are to the sun, so is the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA to the GOD-head. JESUS is "THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD." [John 8. 12] HIS "origin is from of old, from ancient times." [Micah (Michah) 5. 2 Tanakh, Nevi'im] YESHUA'S glorified "countenance was like the sun shining in its strength." [Revelation 1. 16]

YESHUA, the RISEN ONE, is the LIFE-GIVING RADIANCE of the INDESCRIBABLE GLORY of the ETERNAL ONE, from WHOSE face one day, heaven and earth will flee away. [Revelation 20. 11] "Then the glory of the PRESENCE OF THE LORD moved from the cherubim to the raised platform on which the Temple stood, the House was filled with the cloud, and the court was filled with the radiant brightness of the LORD'S GLORY and PRESENCE." [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 10. 4 Tanakh, Nevi'im] "But for you that fear MY NAME, the SUN (Hebrew: "SHEMESH" one of the names of "YESHUA — THE WORD made flesh") OF RIGHTEOUSNESS shall rise with healing in HIS wings (the tassels on HIS "tallit (prayer shawl)" —see Matthew 9:20)." [Malachi (Malakhi) 4. 2 Tanakh, Nevi'im] "HIS NAME shall endure forever; HIS NAME shall continue as long as the sun (Hebrew: YINNON). And men shall be blessed in HIM; all nations shall call HIM blessed." [Psalms (Tehillym) 72. 17 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

The PRINCE OF PEACE, YESHUA ha'MASHIACH is the only MEDIATOR between GOD and man, and through this SPLENDID ONE we can boldly enter into the HEAVENLY FATHER'S PRESENCE. "For it is GOD WHO commanded the LIGHT to shine out of darkness, WHO has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the GLORY OF GOD in the face of CHRIST JESUS, the LORD." [2 Corinthians 4. 6] Soon and very soon, we shall behold HIS incredibly spectacular glory. What a triumphantly spectacular day that will be!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
I greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul exults in my GOD. For HE clothed me with garments of salvation, wrapped me in a robe of righteousness; thus shouts of victory and praise spring forth in HIS PRESENCE. I love YOU, LORD and I lift my voice to worship YOU.
Days of Awe DAY 38 of REPENTANCE So, in case you had not caught this — these unrepentant behaviors we have been speaking of are SIN. Sin creates a barrier in your relationship with the HEAVENLY FATHER. As the Apostle John points out, there is sin that does not lead to death. In other words, you will not lose your salvation over these things, but your life will be missing the joy and peace of being clean and pure. "All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death." [1 John 5:17] Sincere repentance must be a part of your daily interaction with the ALMIGHTY CREATOR. "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
None of us are immune to the deep pain of not being forgiven.

PRAYER OF ATONEMENT
"O LORD, open my lips, and my mouth shall declare YOUR praises. YOU are blessed, O LORD our GOD and GOD of our fathers, GOD OF ABRAHAM, GOD OF ISAAC, GOD OF JACOB. YOU are the GREAT, MIGHTY & REVERED GOD, the MOST HIGH GOD, WHO bestows loving kindnesses, and possesses all things, WHO remembers the pious deeds of the patriarchs, and in love will bring the REDEEMER to their children’s children for YOUR NAME'S sake.

Remember us unto life, O KING, WHO delights in life, and inscribe us in the BOOK OF LIFE, for YOUR OWN sake, O ETERNAL LIVING ONE. O KING, HELPER, SAVIOR & PROTECTOR. Blessed are YOU, O LORD, the SHIELD of Abraham. YOU, O LORD, are mighty forever. YOU quicken the dead, YOU alone are mighty to save.

YOU, O LORD, sustain the living with loving-kindness, quicken the dead with great mercy, support the falling, heal the sick, loose the bound, and keep YOUR promise to them that sleep in the dust. Who is like YOU, LORD of mighty acts, or who resembles YOU, O KING ETERNAL, WHO kills and quickens, and causes salvation to spring forth?

Who is like YOU, FATHER OF MERCY, WHO in mercy remembers YOUR creatures unto life? Yes! Faithful are YOU to quicken the dead. Blessed are YOU, O LORD. YOU are holy and YOUR NAME is holy, and holy beings praise YOU daily. There is none like YOU, INIMITABLE HOLY ONE! Selah

Now, therefore, O LORD our GOD, impose YOUR awe upon all YOUR works, and YOUR dread upon all that YOU have created, that all works may fear YOU and all creatures prostrate themselves before YOU that they may all form a single band to do YOUR will with a perfect heart, even as we know, O LORD our GOD, that dominion belongs to YOU, strength is in YOUR hand, and might in YOUR right hand, and that YOUR NAME is to be feared above all that YOU have created.

Give then glory, O ETERNAL ONE, unto YOUR people, praise to them that fear YOU, hope to them that seek YOU, and free speech to them that wait for YOU, joy to YOUR land, gladness to YOUR Holy City, a flourishing horn to David, YOUR servant, and a clear shining light to the SON OF JESSE, YESHUA ha'MASHIACH, YOUR ANOINTED — speedily and in our days.

Then shall the just also see and be glad, and the upright shall exult, and the pious triumphantly rejoice, while iniquity shall close her mouth, and all wickedness shall be wholly consumed like smoke, when YOU make the dominion of arrogance to pass away from the earth.

YOU, O LORD, shall reign! YOU alone over all YOUR works on Mount Zion, the dwelling place of YOUR glory, and in Jerusalem, YOUR Holy City — as it is written in YOUR HOLY WORD: "The LORD shall reign forever, your GOD, O Zion, for all generations. Hallelu'YAH." [Psalms (Tehillym) 146. 10 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

YOU, O LORD GOD are holy, and dreaded is YOUR NAME and there is no god beside YOU, as it is written: "The LORD OF HOSTS is exalted by judgment, the HOLY GOD proved holy by righteousness and retribution." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 5. 16 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

YOU, MASTER, have chosen us from all peoples, YOU have loved us and taken pleasure in us, and have exalted us above all tongues; YOU have sanctified us by YOUR commandments, and brought us near unto YOUR services, O LORD our KING, and have called us by YOUR RIGHTEOUS & HOLY NAME. Blessed be our GLORIOUS LORD GOD OMNIPOTENT! Amen"

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Our prayer as we welcome Sabbath and Erev Yom Kippur (eve of the Day of Atonement): HOLY ETERNAL ONE, give us the kindness to hear with compassion, to offer support, loving comfort and care to all we meet. Give us the courage to do what is needed, the wisdom to choose what is right and most fair. Give us the vision to see what is possible. Give us the faith that will help pave the way for a present that’s hopeful, a future that’s peaceful — give us the heart to bring joy to each day. Thank YOU, ALMIGHTY GOD for making us a needy people, ever looking to YOU, the AUTHOR & FINISHER of our faith. Keep us ever mindful to praise, honor and obey YOU, O GOD our MAKER. May the days following be filled with great joy as we prepare for Sukkot — Feast of Tabernacles.
We pray that YOU continue to bestow YOUR blessings on us, our FATHER & KING. Teach us to seek YOU evermore within the sanctuary of our souls, within the tabernacle of YOUR WORD, and in the congregation of YOUR worshipers! May the message of GOD'S WORD and the love of YESHUA ha’MASHIACH the SAVIOR bless your heart and make you fully whole (holy). Fill us with YOUR SPIRIT of humility, meekness and the elegant grace of modesty that we may grow in wisdom and in reverence. May we never forget that all we have and prize is but lent to us, a trust for which we must render account to YOU. O HEAVENLY FATHER, put into our hearts the love and awe of YOU, that we may consecrate our lives to YOUR service and glorify YOUR NAME in the eyes of all men. Amen
May you be inscribed in the BOOK OF LIFE for good!
Days of Awe It is far easier to change from a place of joy and abundance than it is from a place of despair and lack. Focus on the good and it will lead to even more goodness.
DAY 39 of REPENTANCE In the Book of Revelation, the "ONE sitting on the Throne" gives us a list of the types of transgressors who will not see the Kingdom of Heaven. By this time in SCRIPTURE it is a fairly predictable list; but the very first transgressor named on the list is— the Cowardly. "But for the cowardly and faithless and detestable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars — their lot is in the Lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." [Revelation 21:8] Of all the things we know will interfere with our relationship with YEHOWAH, here is the major one to focus your spotlight on — Fear. We are commanded by GOD not to be afraid of man or the things of the world. HE undoubtedly takes this seriously. When we are afraid, we are not trusting HIM.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at them.

FATHER OF ALL
"Have we not all one FATHER? Did not one GOD created us? Why do we deal treacherously with one another, profaning the covenant of our fathers?" [Malachi (Malakhi) 2. 10 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Malachi is the last prophet in the OLD COVENANT, sounding much like that of Job who was perhaps the first stating, "Did not HE WHO made me in my mother's belly make them (men)? Did not ONE form us both in the womb?" [Job (Iyob) 31. 15 Tanakh, Kethuvim] Malachi's message was primarily directed to the Jews of the restoration who were backsliding after being restored from their Babylonian captivity, and GOD'S rebuke of their sinful behavior focused on the key to its correction. They needed to remember, first of all, that they were all brothers, because they all had the same LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER. This was not a reference to their becoming spiritual children of OMNIPOTENT GOD by the new birth, but a reminder of the even more basic fact that they had all been specially created by CREATOR GOD in the first place. They should therefore be united in GOD'S great calling of the Jewish people, GOD'S chosen, bearing HIS message to the whole world. "The nations shall walk by your light, kings, by your shining radiance. As you behold, you will glow; your heart will throb and swell with joy — for the wealth of the coastlands pass on to you, the riches of the Gentiles shall flow to you." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 60. 3, 5 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Although Malachi's message was primarily for the Israelites, it also has all men in view, as the center of GOD'S heart "For from where the sun rises to where it sets, MY NAME is honored among the nations...said the LORD OF HOSTS." [Malachi (Malakhi) 1. 11 Tanakh, Nevi'im] There was an earlier covenant than the Mosaic and Levitical covenants — one which ALMIGHTY GOD made with all men after the Great Flood, which has never been withdrawn.

This Noahic Covenant, continuing for perpetual generations, does indeed remind us that all men everywhere are brothers, created by the MASTER DESIGNER, and responsible to HIM for their behavior toward one another, and for their stewardship of the earth under HIS ownership. Thus, Malachi's rhetorical questions remind us that the only way to resolve problems among the nations of the world is, first of all, to remind and try to convince them that they all were created by the ONE TRUE "LORD OF HOST" — that they must someday answer to HIM for their every thoughts, words, and deeds; and that the LORD GOD OMNISCIENT still loves them as a father loves his children.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
O GOD, WHO alone is all good, WHOSE mercies fail not; WHOSE loving-kindnesses never cease, we have all our hope and trust in YOU. We bless YOU, our SALVATION and our HELP, our GOD to WHOM thanksgiving is due. We are ever grateful that YOU dwell in us!
In YOUR mercy, O LORD, remember us and all YOUR children. O FATHER & REDEEMER, mindful of YOUR covenant, we pray that YOUR love may never forsake us. Even as the rainbow recalls this covenant, so may each new day bring to all men the thought of YOUR gracious promise. Hasten the time when YOUR Law will be written in every heart, from the smallest to the greatest. Then shall mankind do YOUR will and the reward of righteous service shall be peace.
"Ketiva Vahatima Tova — may your inscription and seal be for good." May you have a year filled with meaning and purpose; and happiness that will surely follow. As you observe the High Holy Days, may your home be filled with love and the year ahead be filled with sweetness. May happiness, love and the joy of MESSIAH reign in your lives daily.
Days of Awe DAY 37 of REPENTANCE We all should know ourselves well enough to understand that our brothers and sisters are just as frail as we are. We should not harbor unrealistic expectations on them, but we should pray for them without ceasing. "Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge." [James 4:11] Speaking against each other is no small thing. Ya’acov (James) is reminding us in this passage that when we speak against our brother we are speaking evil against the WRITTEN WORD. We are, however, to judge appropriately, "You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty. In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor." [Leviticus 19:15] "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Unless we remember, we cannot understand. [Edward Morgan Foster] ALMIGHTY GOD commanded us to remember because it is only by treasuring the messages of the past that we can understand the present and hope for a more blessed future.

DIVINE & HUMAN
"Jacob was left alone. And a MAN wrestled with him until the break of dawn...and HE said — Let me go, for dawn is breaking. But Jacob answered — I will not let YOU go, unless YOU bless me. Said the OTHER to Jacob, "What is your name?" He replied, "Jacob." Said HE — Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but "Israel" — for you have struggled with GOD and with MAN, and have prevailed." [Genesis/Bereshith 32. 24, 26 - 28]

Jacob wrestled with a MAN — WHO is none other than ETERNAL GOD. [v. 28] To commemorate this wonderful experience, Jacob calls this place "Peniel" (face of GOD). He said, "For I have SEEN GOD face-to-face, yet my life has been preserved." [Genesis (Bereshith) 32. 30 Tanakh, Torah] Jacob recognized the fact that this "MAN" with WHOM he wrestled was ALMIGHTY GOD in flesh!

Moses also had an experience: Moses, the great lawgiver, accompanied by Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and 70 of the elders of Israel "SAW THE GOD OF ISRAEL." [Exodus/Shemot 24. 9 - 11] Then, after seeing the DIVINE ONE OF ISRAEL, they ate and drank before HIM; thus, testifying to the fact that they were still alive, fully awake, it was not a dream!

"The ANGEL OF THE LORD" [Genesis/Bereshith 16. 7-13], WHO being GOD, appeared frequently in the OLD COVENANT times as a "MAN." YESHUA ha'MASHIACH is GOD manifested in the flesh! "Behold, I am sending MY messenger to clear the way before ME, and the LORD WHOM you seek shall come to HIS Temple suddenly. As for the ANGEL OF THE COVENANT that you desire, HE is already coming, says the LORD OF HOSTS." [Malachi (Malakhi) 3. 1 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Why must OMNIPOTENT CREATOR appear as a MAN? Because sin required the death penalty. Man, who was a sinner, could not redeem himself. ALMIGHTY GOD, in HIS OWN PERSON, chose to be the SUBSTITUTE to pay the ransom price in man's place. But GOD ETERNAL could not die, HE is "from everlasting to everlasting." [Exodus/Shemot 3. 14; Psalms/Tehillym 90. 2] Therefore, the REDEEMER of mankind must become MAN in order that HE could be "made sin" and DIE. [Hebrews 2. 9; Psalms/Tehillym 8. 5; 1 Peter 1. 18 - 19] The REDEEMER could not be mere MAN either; for if HE was, HE would have been involved in sin HIMSELF through Adam. [Romans 5. 12] Furthermore, if YESHUA were only MAN, there would be no sacrifice that would be appropriate for ALL humanity. Therefore, in order to fulfill all the crucial requirements, HE had to be both, GOD and MAN to meet the necessary requirement of GOD'S holy standards for a REDEEMING SAVIOR, and man's need.

The LORD JESUS OF NAZARETH is the "ANGEL OF THE LORD" WHO saves and redeems, the PROMISED HOLY ONE that Isaiah speaks of. "In their troubles HE was troubled, and the ANGEL OF HIS PRESENCE was their DELIVERER. In HIS love and pity HE HIMSELF redeemed them; raised them, and exalted them all the days of old." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 63. 9 Tanakh, Nevi'im] YESHUA ha’MASHIACH came to save and redeem "whosoever will" of the world. HE is the "MESSENGER (ANGEL) OF THE COVENANT" prophesied and promised by the ALMIGHTY LORD GOD. "See, a time is coming — declares the LORD — when I will make a New Covenant with the House of Israel and the House of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers, when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, a covenant which they broke, though I was LORD (ba'alti — ruler, possessor, owner, husband) over them — declares the LORD." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 31. 31 - 32 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

"YESHUA (YEHOWAH Saves)" — HIS very great and incredible NAME tells of HIS wondrous work of redemption. "Therefore HE is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to GOD through HIM, since HE ever lives to make intercession for them." [Hebrews 7. 25] Oh how sweet that NAME, that inimitable NAME of JESUS!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
O GOD, YOU are our REFUGE and our HOPE, we glorify YOUR NAME. YOU are the LIVING GOD, YOUR WORDS bring life and light to the soul. YOU are the strength of our life, the ROCK of our salvation. YOUR Kingdom and YOUR Truth abide forever. Praised are YOU, our REDEEMER, the HOLY ONE of Israel. The grace of our LORD YESHUA ha’MASHIACH be with your spirit.
May you enter each day of the new year with joy in your hearts and confidence that ALMIGHTY GOD, in HIS mercy, will continue to use us as HIS messenger of the Good News to this needy world.
May it be a year where we do good to others; a year full of blessings of health, happiness, and peace. Wishing all of you a good year – 5778 [see Deuteronomy 11:12]
Days of Awe DAY 36 of REPENTANCE Be careful who you are following. Test every word, every teaching, every proclamation and prophecy. Keep your eyes on the LORD YESHUA ha’MASHIACH. "There were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the LORD WHO bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber." [2 Peter 2:1-3] Do not be drawn away by deceptions and sensationalisms.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The man capable of deceiving himself is much more dangerous than the one capable only of deceiving others.

CONTINUE IN
"As for you, continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from WHOM you have learned them — the HOLY SCRIPTURES, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in CHRIST JESUS." [2 Timothy 3. 14 - 15]

CHRISTianity is not to be a "hit-and-miss-affair" or an "I-tried-it-and-it-didn't-work" experience. CHRISTianity isn't something you "TRY" — but what you "ARE" — a determination or mind set; a choice to live as a CHRIST - like one. One of the great outward proofs of a true believer is that he continues in the faith.

"IF indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the HOPE OF THE GOSPEL which you heard." [Colossians 1. 23] Endurance for the duration of our lifetime shows the reality of our true faith in YESHUA ha'MASHIACH. "Now by this we know that we know HIM, if we keep HIS commandments." [1 John 2. 3] "They received the WORD with all readiness, and searched the SCRIPTURES daily to find out whether these things were so." [Acts 17. 11] "The works of the LORD are great, within reach of all who desire them and studied by all who have pleasure in them." [Psalms (Tehillym) 111. 2 Tanakh, Kethuvim] "Then I thought of the days of old; I meditated on all YOUR deeds, recounted the work of YOUR hands." [Psalms (Tehillym) 143. 5 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving." [Colossians 4. 2] The HOLY SCRIPTURES constantly exhort us to "pray without ceasing." [1 Thessalonians 5. 17] In the work of ALMIGHTY CREATOR GOD there are three steps: first-impossible; second-difficult; finally - complete — when we pray for the extraordinary, the limitless, the incredible and the glorious.

The unbeliever "has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the WORD, immediately he stumbles." [Matthew 13. 21] "They profess to know GOD, but in works they deny HIM, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work." [Titus 1. 16]

Grace (Hebrew: chen — favor, acceptance) carries with it an obligation to tell others. The GOSPEL is "GOOD NEWS" and as the followers of MESSIAH, we must continue to witness for and about HIM. "Therefore, having obtained help from GOD — to this day I stand — witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come." [Acts 26. 22] Be co-workers with the HEAVENLY MASTER by sharing the PRECIOUS WORD OF TRUTH.

Sha’alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
We praise YOU, MOST HOLY GOD and ask that YOUR PRESENCE be manifest to us in all YOUR works, so that reverence for YOU may fill the hearts of YOUR creatures. May all the children of men bow before YOU in humility and unite to do YOUR will with one heart, that all may acknowledge that YOURS alone is the power, dominion and majesty; and that YOUR NAME is exalted above all. The grace of our LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH be with you always — for you are our glory and joy!
May your life be richer and fuller daily as you faithfully walk with our Wonderful LORD YESHUA.
Days of Awe DAY 35 of REPENTANCE We all take comfort in our knowledge that we are fine, upstanding people, good citizens, pleasant neighbors, loving and generous members of our community. That is wonderful; but it is all external behavior energize and encouraged mostly by internal goodness and purity. But, what about the inward parts of you that your neighbors, family or community do not see? "Let none of you suffer as a murderer or thief or evildoer or as a troublemaker." [1 Peter 4:15] Let us be completely rid of all ungodliness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Many a man who does not fear GOD wraps himself in a Prayer Shawl. [-Abraham ibn Esra]

TRADITION OR TRUTH 09/24/17
"This shall be to you a Law forever for all time: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, Tishri, you shall practice self-denial; and you shall do no manner of work, neither the citizen nor the alien who resides among you. For on this day atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you of all your sins; you shall be clean before the LORD." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 29 - 30 Tanakh, Torah]

The "Days of Awe (Yamim Nora’im)" refers to the ten days between Yom Teruah (Day of Trumpets/Rosh ha’Shanah) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) which can alter the sentence of one’s fate if a person repents of his sin, makes restitution, and returns to the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Thus, the goal of Yamim Nora’im is to return (teshuvah) to the BLESSED ONE with their whole heart, soul and might. This results in DIVINE forgiveness and at-one-ment with GOD which is only possible through MESSIAH'S forgiveness, extended to all those who embrace HIS "once-for-all" sacrifice for our sin.

Among the many preparations for the awesome day of Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), and perhaps one of the most important, is the seeking of forgiveness from friends, relatives and acquaintances — for actual wrongs done or to soothe bad feelings that may have arisen during the year. This is one aspect of our behavior that cannot be forgiven by the ALMIGHTY unless forgiveness is first sought from those we have wronged. Another custom practiced on the eve of Yom Kippur is to bathe (mikvah) so we become pure in preparation for services and prayer.

"I have forgiven" are the eternal words spoken by the FAITHFUL, TRUE & LIVING GOD on the tenth of the month of Tishri, after Moses prayed and fasted for forty days on behalf of the Jewish people. This day became Yom ha'Kippurim, the Day of Atonement, for all generations. Any time a Jew (or Gentile) sincerely repents, he is forgiven. But, this day has a special meaning because of the forgiveness granted to the Jews on this day.

Yom Kippur and all the laws pertaining to it started before sunset, as do all the holidays, with candle-lighting by the women of the house. A 24-hour (yahrzeit) candle is also lit in the house in honor of the holiday, as it is a day of fasting and we cannot honor it with a special festive meal. The light also reminds us of the Second Tablets that were given to the Jewish people on this day, for light symbolizes the TORAH.

On Yom Kippur, no work (melachos) may be done and it is referred to as Shabbos Shabbason — a total rest day just like Sabbath. In fact, the doubled wording teaches us that even if Yom Kippur comes out on Sabbath, the laws of Yom Kippur are observed on that day and are not postponed, unlike other fast days when they occur on Shabbos.

On Yom Kippur, five activities are specifically prohibited: Eating and drinking, anointing oneself with perfumes or oils, and washing (for pleasure), wearing leather shoes, and marital relations. Men go to the Synagogue (Shul) wearing white garments called kittels — and women often dress in light colors or white, which symbolizes purity.

The evening service begins with the chanting of Kol Nidrei (all vows) which is intended to nullify in advance all vows and promises which Jews have been forced to make, or have made hastily in emergencies of sorrow or passion. During each main prayer, we say the "Viduy (confession - "we have sinned!")" — beating the heart with the right hand at each phrase as we enumerate all the sins we may have committed and ask GOD OF HOSTS, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL for forgiveness. The Viduy is phrased in the plural ("we have sinned!"), for all Jews and Gentiles are considered — one body — and we are all responsible for one another.

One of the unique prayers of Yom Kippur is the Avodah section in the Musaf Prayer, which describes in detail the great and awesome service performed on Yom Kippur by the Priests in the Holy Temple . This service was highlighted by the entry of the High Priest into the Holy of Holies, the place where the original tablets of the Ten Commandments were kept in the Ark of the Covenant. Only on this one day a year, and only after much preparation, was the High Priest alone allowed to enter. Described are his preparations, the service, and the exciting conclusion —when the Jewish people knew they were granted forgiveness. [Leviticus/Vayikra 16]

In these present times, Jews everywhere feel that by fasting and repenting for twenty-four hours in obedience to GOD'S righteous commandment, they are forgiven of all their iniquities and their names are written in the BOOK OF LIFE. Although they no longer have a Temple , nor a high priest, and no sacrifice, they are so convinced of the need of an atonement, that rather than confess that they have absolutely none, they teach that repentance and the day itself will atone for all sin. [Hilchoth T'shuvah c.i 2.] But, the LORD GOD stressed, "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have assigned it to you for making AN ATONEMENT for your lives upon the altar; it is the BLOOD, as life, that makes expiation for the soul." [Leviticus/Vayikra 17. 11 Tanakh, Torah] For this reason, blood must be shed.

As believers in the LORD YESHUA, we know that we have a GREATER HIGH PRIEST and HIS precious blood has been shed for sinners. YESHUA ha'MASHIACH is our KIPPUR (Covering, Atonement). HE is the only means of salvation for both Jew or Gentile and forgiveness is an eternal gift. "Seeing then that we have a GREAT HIGH PRIEST who has passed through the heavens, JESUS, the SON OF GOD, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a HIGH PRIEST WHO cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." [Hebrews 4. 14 - 16] "For such a HIGH PRIEST was fitting for us, WHO is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; WHO does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for HIS OWN sins and then for the people's, for this HE did ONCE FOR ALL when HE offered up HIMSELF." [Hebrews 7. 26 - 27] HalleluYAH! Our GREATER HIGH PRIEST, YESHUA, has done it all . . . the price is paid in full; and we, who believe, are bought back by HIS perfect atonement.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel !
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
The day after Rosh ha’Shanah marks the Fast of Gedaliah (Tzom Gedaliah – governor of Judea), one of the “minor fast days” in the Jewish calendar year. It is observed every year on the 4th of Tishri (September 24th this year). The fast begins early in the morning at dawn and ends in the evening at dusk. The meaning of the fast: After the destruction of the First Temple, 2,5600 years ago, the majority of the Jewish people were exiled to Babylon. The conqueror, Nebuchadnezzar eventually eased some of his harsh restrictions and allowed some Jews to remain in the Land of Israel. He even appointed a righteous Jew named Gedaliah to administer the territory. Gradually more Jews who had escaped from the horrors of the war into neighboring countries began to return to their homes in Israel, the Promised Land.
Gedaliah was realistic about the limitations of Jewish sovereignty, he understood that for their own self-preservation the Jews in Israel needed to cooperate fully with the nation who had conquered their land. However, this political subservience was intolerable to some Jews and a man named Yishmael benNetaniah, spurred on by jealousy from foreign influences arose and ignored the King of Babylon. On the 3rd of Tishrei, Yishmael treacherously killed Gedalia along with many other Jews and Babylonians. After the murder of Gedaliah,, the Jews feared reprisal from the King of Babylon and thought to flee to Egypt to save themselves. Since Egypt was a morally corrupt society, the Jews were in a quandary – weighing the physical threat against the spiritual danger. So, they turned to the Prophet Jeremiah who was secluded in mourning to ask for advice.
For an entire week, Jeremiah pleaded with GOD for an answer. Finally, on Yom Kippur, he was answered. Jeremiah called the Jews and told them to stay in Israel and everything would be fine. GOD was planning to make the Babylonians act mercifully toward the Jews, and before long, all the exiled Jews would be permitted to return to their own soil. But, Jeremiah told them, if the Jews decided to go to Egypt, the sword from which they were running would kill them there.
Unfortunately, the prophet's words did not penetrate, and the people refused to believe. All the Jews remaining in Israel packed their bags and went down to Egypt. They even kidnapped Jeremiah and took him with them! Now the destruction was complete; the Land of Israel was completely barren.
A few years later, as you may have guessed, Babylon conquered Egypt and tens of thousands of Jewish exiles were completely wiped out. The lone survivor of this massacre was Jeremiah—his prophecy had become painfully true. [see Jeremiah/Yirmeyah 40 – 41; 2 Kings/Melakhim Bet 25.25–26]
Days of Awe DAY 34 of REPENTANCE Make sure every detail of your life “before GOD” has been done away with and you are pursuing LIFE in HIM by the Indwelling Power of the HOLY SPIRIT. "Let the time that is past suffice for doing the will of the Gentiles— when we walked in lewdness, living in licentiousness, passions, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries." [1 Peter 4:3] "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
When we know WHO holds the future, then whatever comes, even the worst is transformed into a blessing.

THE LORD’S HAND
"That Ezra (son of Seraiah) came up from Babylon, a scribe expert in the LAW OF MOSES which the LORD GOD OF ISRAEL had given, whose request the king had granted in its entirety, thanks to the benevolence of the LORD his GOD toward him." [Ezra 7. 6 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

Neither Ezra the skilled scribe nor Nehemiah, the kings’ butler were prepared either by study or experience to supervise the great construction project of rebuilding the Temple in Jerusalem and the wall of the City which had both been destroyed many years before by the armies of Babylon. Yet OMNISCIENT GOD called them to these ministries and led them and protected them as they carried out the appointed duties.

Ezra and Nehemiah gave the ALMIGHTY EXALTED ONE the glory for what they accomplished. Ezra reminded his readers six times and Nehemiah twice, that it was by the hand of the LORD their GOD that they were able to properly supervise the work for such a great task. [Ezra 7. 6, 9, 28; 8. 18 – 22, 31; Nehemiah/Nechemah 2. 8, 18] Regardless of the many difficulties and through much opposition by their foes, it was by the hand of GoD that all HE pleased, HE accomplished through HIS chosen servants. "You shall be a glorious crown in the hand of the LoRd, and a royal diadem in the palm of your God." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 62. 3 Tanakh, Nevi’im] "The hand of the LORD shall be revealed in behalf of HIS servants; but HE shall rage against HIS foes." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 66. 14 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

Likewise, we must be careful to give all honour, glory and praise to the OMNIPOTENT SUPREME LORD & KING for the things HE enables and allows us to accomplish in HIS service. Even such a great and powerful man of God, like the Apostle Paul had to say, "But by the grace of GoD I am what I am, and HiS grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of GoD which was with me." [1 Corinthians 15. 10] And — "If GoD is for us, who can be against us?" [Romans 8. 31]

The hand of the LORD can also be a chastening hand as well as a guiding and providing hand. But the greatest desire of the ROCK OF OUR SALVATION is that "all the peoples of the earth shall know how mighty is the hand of the LORD, that you shall fear the LORD your GoD always." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 4. 24 Tanakh, Nevi’im] Because, "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the livinG God." [Hebrews 10. 31] Therefore, find comfort for your entire life in the center of HIS nail-pierced hands.

Sha’alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Bidding farewell to Sabbath Shuvah – Shabbat of Return. As we continue to celebrate Yamym Noraym (High Holy Days) — May GOD give us the kindness to hear with compassion, to offer support, loving comfort, and care. May HE give us the courage to do what is needed, the wisdom to choose what is right and most fair...give us the vision to see what is possible; the faith that will help pave the way for a present that is hopeful, a future that is peaceful — give us the heart to bring joy to each day. May Rosh ha’Shanah mark a new beginning for you. . . through a year blessed with goodness and promise through MESSIAH YESHUA, the KING of Glory. Amen!
May the LORD use you today to do HIS work in the lives that surround you. May today be all you need it to be. May the peace of GOD and the freshness of the HOLY SPIRIT rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight, and conquer all your fears. May GOD manifest HIMSELF today in ways you have never experienced before. May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer, and your prayers be answered. We pray that faith enters a new height for you and that your territory is enlarged. We pray for peace, healing, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, true and undying love for GOD.
Shana Tova! May you have a year filled with meaning and purpose. . . happiness will surely follow.
Days of Awe DAY 33 of REPENTANCE There is always more to learn as you follow these meditations and to understand the negative effects of our contrary nature which continues to plague us. Nevertheless, we never stop growing in our BELOVED MESSIAH. "Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the WORD, that you may grow thereby." [1 Peter 2:1-2] The LORD YESHUA told us that unless we change and become like children we will not see the Kingdom of Heaven. [Matthew 18:3] DO NOT let your desire to be “mature” lead you toward attitudes and behaviors that are evil.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The person of faith believes GOD even when circumstances appear to the contrary.

YOM TERUAH
The purpose of Rosh ha’Shanah can be understood through the main themes of the central Mussaf prayer offered. The prayer is organized in three sections:
1. Malchiot (KINGSHIP) — We begin the special silent prayer of Rosh ha’Shana by declaring GOD our KING. Our prayers declare GOD’S ONENESS, and the path in life we would like to lead.
2. Zichronot (Remembrances) — Unlike humans who forget and remember, it is inconceivable that such a concept exists in our SUPERLATIVELY, HONORABLE, EXCELLENT, ALL-POWERFUL GOD. Zichronot refers to GOD’S ability to identify and consider all factors and aspects of a decision. The ALMIGHTY ONE is aware of our mission in life, our motivations, our thoughts, and our desires. Each and every one of these facets is considered when we are judged.
3. Shofarot (The Shofar) — Shofarot refers to horn, the Shofar, blown on Rosh ha’Shanah. The Shofar symbolizes a new beginning. It is for this reason that it was present at Mount Sinai as the Jewish Nation was forged, and it is for this reason that we sound it on Rosh ha’Shana when we desire to start anew.
Why do we desire a new beginning? Have we given our best effort to self improvement, to our relationships with our fellow man and with GOD? The answer to the question likely gives one pause. We therefore ask GOD for a new beginning. Then we blow the Shofar.
Yom Teruah (The Day of the Horn/Trumpets) — literally shouting...begins with blessings after the Shofar is sounded. "Baruch atah Yahweh Eloheinu melech ha-olam, asher kidishanu bemitzvotav vetzvivanu leshemoa kol Shofar." [Blessed are YOU, YEHOWAH, our GOD, KING of the universe, WHO has sanctified us with your commandments and has instructed us to hear the Shofar.] "Baruch ata YAHWEH ELOHEINU MELECH ha-olam, asher kidishanu bemitzvotav vetzivanu lazman hazeh." [Blessed are YOU, YEHOWAH, our GOD, KING of the universe, WHO has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.]

The Sounds of the Shofar
There are four different sounds associated with the blowing of the Shofar during the Yom Teruah service. These sounds are interpreted as follows:
1. Tekiah — A pure unbroken sound that calls man to search his heart, forsake his wrong ways, and seek forgiveness through repentance. The Tekiah called the people to attention and to gather to Moses. It is the calling note, calling your attention and holding you. It would be the customary summons to listen to GOD, to receive from HIM the orders for the day. The sound of the KING’S coronation.

2. Shebarim — A broken, staccato, trembling sound. It typifies the sorrow that comes to man when he realizes his misconduct and desires to change his ways. Signifies repentance.

3. Teruah — A wave-like sound of alarm calling upon man to stand by the banner of GOD. Teruah in Hebrew means not only a certain unique sound. It also implies "to break" — denoting breaking something and/or causing damage. It is the note for bustling, speedy activity, the signal for breaking up, for striking tents and breaking up camp. Sound to awaken the soul.

4. Tekiah Gedolah — The prolonged, unbroken sound typifying a final appeal to sincere repentance and atonement (sound as long as you can blow).

The Shofar blowing on Yom Teruah is a combination of the various sounds. The call of the shofar reminds us that the KING OF THE UNIVERSE loves us, is thinking about us, and cares about our lives. HE is judging us because HE loves us. With GOD, it is crucial to remember that no matter how we feel about HIM, HIS love for us is unwavering.

The Tekiah is sounded first to call man's heart to give attention and hear the following "sound" of the Shofar message. It is then followed by the Teruah which would then give the HOLY ONE’S order to break off and away from every attachment that estranges us from HIM, and from our own purposes and present mode of life which is displeasing to the ALMIGHTY, and leave behind every worthless activity. The broken sound reminds us that we have a job of "breaking" to do as well — the breaking of our evil inclination.
Based on the commandment in Numbers 29:1 ["And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work. For you it is a day of blowing the trumpets."], one hundred Shofar blasts are dramatically sounded throughout the prayers, awakening us to improve our ways.

It is our willingness to declare GOD as KING that entitles us to a new life. Our request for life is based on our desire for a relationship with HIM. Like other relationships it is possible that there are areas that need improvement, however, those imperfections should not detract from the value of the relationship.

The Eternal New Year begins in the heart of him who accepted MESSIAH YESHUA as their LORD & SAVIOR. At that moment the heart was changed and all his sins were cast into the depths of the sea and he now is a new creation in CHRIST JESUS, the KING OF GLORY. The trumpet of the LORD OF HOSTS will sound announcing the greatest event as a new name is written in the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE!

This New Creation is now awaiting the sound of the ETERNAL ONE when HE calls us Home to be with HIM forevermore. Truly, this will be the greatest of all events since the days of MESSIAH'S flesh! O glorious day when KING JESUS shall come for HIS OWN — both Jew and Gentile — who have repented of their sins (Hebrew: teshuvah — to return, repent, contrition) and accepted the redemption HE purchased through CHRIST JESUS' SUPREME SACRIFICE on the Altar of Calvary!

In Judaism, a distinction is made between repentance for sins committed against GOD and those committed against one’s fellow man. For this reason the TORAH has two different sacrifices dealing with sin. The first was known as "ha’taat" — the sin offering, while the other is called "asham" — the guilt offering. The sin offering taught that when man sinned against the MASTER CREATOR, restitution must be made with GOD; whereas, the guilt offering concerned man’s restoring his relationship with another man before GOD. If a person sinned against another person, forgiveness would not be given by the ALMIGHTY if the guilty party only confessed his sin to GOD. He must first make restitution with his fellow man and then come to GOD.

MESSIAH YESHUA referred to this in the Book of Mattatiyahu (Matthew): "Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift." [Matthew 5. 23 - 24]

Rosh ha’Shana, a celebration of GOD’S KINGSHIP and our desire to have a relationship with HIM. May this time serve as a prelude to a Happy New Year for each of us and our families. We cover you with our love and prayers. May your relationship with the HOLY CREATOR, the GREAT GOD OF HEAVEN & EARTH, grow daily in the little time we have left to serve HIM here on earth. L’Chayim!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Welcoming Yom Teruah/Rosh ha’Shanah — a Solemn Sabbath! Chag Semayah — Good Holy Days! May you be inscribed in the BOOK OF LIFE and may the Jewish nation be rid of their enemies. Pardon our sins and grant us a life of health, prosperity and blessings.
The Rosh ha’Shana prayers — longer, more melodious, and more intense and inspirational than usual — concentrate on GOD'S KINGSHIP and HIS judgment of all creatures.
"Ketiva Vahatima Tova — may your inscription and seal be for good." Our prayer for each of you is for a good year, not one just good for us, but a year where we do good to others.
DAY 30 of REPENTANCE Paul gives us one of the longest lists of godless behavior in his second letter to Timothy. He is talking about what life will be like in the last days. These are all types of people who are demonstrating the results of an unrepentant heart. "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of GOD, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!" [2 Timothy 3:1-5] This certainly describes the world today; let us not be like the world. "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]
The 10 Days of Awe begin at evening, they are from Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets/Rosh ha’Shana) through Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). These days are a foreshadowing picture and rehearsal of the Second Coming of MESSIAH YESHUA, the fulfillment of prophetic SCRIPTURES.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
"Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her! Join in her jubilation, all you who mourned over her — that you may suck from her breast consolation to the full, that you may draw from her bosom glory to your delight." [Isaiah/Yeshayah 66. 10 – 11 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

ROSH HA’SHANA PRAYER
Our prayer for you and your family on this Feast Day of Yom Teruah/Rosh ha’Shanah is that ALMIGHTY GOD, blessed be HE and blessed be HIS NAME, will make the coming days of this year, 5778, happy ones...
...Not by shielding us from all sorrow and pain, but by strengthening us to bear it if and when it comes.
...Not by making our path easy, but in making us strong enough to tread any path.
Not by granting unbroken sunshine, but by keeping our face bright even in the shadows.
...Not by making our life always pleasant, but in showing us where MESSIAH and HIS cause needs us most; and by making us zealous to do HIS perfect will.
...Not by keeping us from conflict and war, but by bringing us off every field of battle more than conquerors through the LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH WHO loves us most.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Welcoming Shabbat Shuvah (Sabbath of Return) [Sabbath Reading: Ha’Azinu “Give Ear” – Deuteronomy 32:1-52; Hosea 14:1-9; Micah 7:18-20; Joel 2:15-27; Matthew 18:21-35]
The Rosh ha’Shana prayers — longer, more melodious, and more intense and inspirational than usual — concentrate on GOD'S KINGSHIP and HIS judgment of all creatures. "Our PRECIOUS HEAVENLY FATHER, we have no king but YOU. Help us for YOUR NAME’S sake. Grant us a blessed new year, annul all evil decrees against us, annul the plots of our enemies, frustrate the designs of our foes, rid us of tyrants, rid us of pestilence, sword, famine, captivity, sin and destruction. Forgive and pardon all our sins. Help us return to YOU fully repentant. Send complete healing to the sick; remember us with favor; hasten our deliverance. Exalt YOUR people, Israel and those who are called by YOUR NAME everywhere. Hear us our INCREDIBLE REDEEMER, show us mercy and compassion, accept our prayer with favor and mercy. Do not turn us away unanswered. Remember that we are dust. Have pity for us and our children; act for those slain for YOUR HOLY NAME who were slaughtered for YOUR unity — who went through fire and water; act for YOUR sake if not for ours. Answer us though we have no deeds to plead our cause. Save us with mercy and loving-kindness. And, make us careful to bless, praise and thank YOU all the days of our life. Amen!"
May you enter each day with joy in your hearts and confidence that ALMIGHTY GOD, in HIS mercy, will continue to use us as HIS messenger of the GOOD NEWS to this needy world. May it be a year where we do good to others; a year full of blessings of health, happiness, and peace.
Wishing all of you a blessed year–5778 "The LORD your GOD cares; the eyes of the LORD your GOD are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year." [Deuteronomy 11:12]
Honey dripped Rosh ha’Shana wishes to the apple of our eyes – our beloved friends/family.
Chag Semayah — Good Holy Days!
Days of Awe DAY 32 of REPENTANCE Every attempt we make to show wisdom without operating in accordance with GOD’S WORD and the fruit of HIS HOLY SPIRIT will result in confusion. We must permanently banish envy and self-seeking, otherwise we will never be able to see the Truth ourselves, let alone share it with others. “But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.” [James 3:14-16] Continue to examine yourself until the last root of ungodliness is discovered and removed, and has been replaced by the infilling of the HOLY SPIRIT. "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]
FOR THE 10 DAYS OF AWE
l. "Open for me an opening the size of a needle and I will expand it into a door through which wagons can go through." [Midrash on Song of Songs 5:2] Change is not all or nothing. GOD tells us that we just need to take that first step, however small it may be, and HE will show us a way forward.
2. "I stopped looking for the light and decided to become it instead." [Anonymous] Stop thinking you need to change the people and things around you in order to grow. Authentic transformation comes from within us. It comes from the goodness and the light we bring to everything that we do and everyone that we encounter.
3. "Everything is a choice." [Anonymous] We can escape from the tyranny of our bad habits. We have free will. The haphazard mornings or the orderly routines, the complaints or the compliments, the endless distractions or the moments of reflection: these are all choices we make, and if we want to change our lives, we need to first look at our choices.
4. "It is never too late to be what you might have been." [George Eliot] Let’s not bother focusing on the time we wasted or the opportunities we didn't use. That was yesterday. Today is another chance to become who we want to be. We can turn our regrets into lessons and our failures into stepping stones.
5. "Your goals don't care how you feel." [Anonymous] We won't always feel motivated. Sometimes we’ll feel tired and want to push off our goals until tomorrow. But tomorrow we may not "feel" like working either. One of the biggest myths of change is that we need to feel motivated to move forward. It's the moving forward that really matters; the motivation will follow our actions. Motivation is wonderful; discipline is critical.
6. "Thinking ‘I can't’ is idolatry. If the ALMIGHTY ONE helps us, we can change the world. And if HE doesn't help, we can't do anything." [Rabbi Noah Weinberg] We limit ourselves by walls of false beliefs that we hide behind. When we have faith, we can let go of who we imagined ourselves to be and become who we really are.
7. "If you believe breaking is possible, believe fixing is possible." [Rabbi Nachman of Breslov] We don't need to cover up or deny our mistakes. We fall. Our lives can sometimes feel broken. We need to remember to focus on fixing the brokenness instead of allowing it to lead to hopelessness.
8. "Set a goal so big you can't achieve it until you grow into the person who can." [Anonymous] Change takes time. Don't be afraid to have extraordinary goals and huge plans. If we are committed to the process, we can become the kind of people capable of accomplishing those feats that seem way out of reach now.
9. "A great attitude becomes a great mood, which becomes a great day, which becomes a great year, which becomes a great life." [Zig Ziglar] It is far easier to change from a place of joy and abundance than it is from a place of despair and lack. Focus on the good and it will lead to more goodness.
10. "No matter how many mistakes you make or how slowly you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn't trying." The two most important elements to change are focus and effort, and we can control both. We can keep trying. We can keep growing. We can focus constantly on where we want to go. No matter how small the changes we make, we are still way ahead than we would have been if we didn't try at all.
Open the door and the LOVING MASTER will show us the way through. All HE asks us to do is wake up every day and try.

Post  Admin Sat 23 Sep 2017, 12:53 am

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
He who kneels before the ALMIGHTY ONE, can stand before any person.

FEAST OF TRUMPETS 5778
At some point in history, the Feast of Yom Teruah (a more accurate term for the Day of Trumpets — Leviticus/B'Midvar 23. 23 - 25) became the day on which the Jewish New Year is celebrated, more popularly known as Rosh ha’Shanah (celebrated in the 7th month, Tishri) which translates as "Head of the Year." {Began last night at sundown — Tuesday Evening, September 20 this year} This Festival, a truly extraordinary occasion, is both a memorial and a blessing.

The Feast of Trumpets is also called "Yom ha'Din" — the Day of Judgment and "Yom ha’Zikkaron" — the Day of Remembrance. The Apostle Paul was speaking of the appointed time when he declared: "HE (the RIGHTEOUS ONE) has appointed a day on which HE will judge the world in righteousness by the MAN (YESHUA THE ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD) whom HE has ordained. HE has given assurance of this to all by raising HIM from the dead." [Acts 17. 31 – 32] And again, warning of the judgment to come: "It is a righteous thing with GOD to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the LORD JESUS is revealed from heaven with HIS mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know GOD, and on those who do not obey the GOSPEL of our LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH." [2 Thessalonians 1. 6 – 9]

However, according to Exodus/Shemot 12:2, Nisan (Passover Season-March/April) is the month appointed by GOD as the "head" of the year, "the beginning of months." There are two other places in the Hebrew expression where "Rosh ha’Shanah (head or beginning of the year)" is found in the HOLY SCRIPTURE. ["It is a land the LORD your GOD cares for; the eyes of the LORD your GOD are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end." Deuteronomy/Devarim 11. 12 "In the twenty-fifth year of our exile, the exile of King Jehoiachin, the fourteenth year after the City had fallen, at the beginning of the year, the tenth day of the month — on that very day." Ezekiel/Yehezke-El 40. 1]

Our Jewish people celebrate their New Year's Day in a very solemn way, unlike the Gentile practice. Jews examine their record for the past year and make resolutions to do better the coming year. According the TALMUD, three books are opened on Yom Teruah/Rosh ha’Shanah before the MIGHTY CREATOR, wherein the fate of the righteous, the wicked, and those of a middle class are recorded. The names of the righteous are immediately inscribed and they are sealed at once to life. The middle class are allowed 10 days to repent and become righteous; while the wicked are altogether blotted out of the BOOK OF THE LIVING.

Tradition alleges that Adam was created about the time of the Feast of Trumpets. According to the WRITTEN WORD OF GOD, when YESHUA, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL was born, that was certainly a new beginning. It will be a time of renewal when MESSIAH YESHUA returns some glorious day. We are in the final days of repentance leading to the Day of Atonement. Now is the time to make things right with the GREAT GOD OF HEAVEN & EARTH and with each other before the coming final judgment. Maybe soon, on some Feast of Trumpets, the LORD YESHUA will come for all who believe in HIM. [1 Thessalonians 4. 13 - 18]

In fulfillment of the EVER-LIVING ONE'S command, Jews gather on Yom Teruah/Rosh ha’Shanah during the day at the Synagogue where the most prominent feature of the religious ceremony is the blowing of the Shofar (ram's horn), marking the preparation of the Holy Festival. "Speak to the Israelite people thus — In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe Sabbath rest, a sacred occasion commemorated with loud blasts." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 24 Tanakh, Torah]

On this day, the Jewish people feel that the purpose for the sounding of the Shofar is to arouse them to the serious contemplation of their sinfulness as well as to their duty to lead a godly life. The Shofar is blown as a summons for the conscience to awake and heed the call of duty. For this reason, Yom Teruah/Rosh ha’Shanah is known as "The Day of the Sounding of the Horn." Furthermore, on that day it is concluded that RIGHTEOUS OMNIPOTENT JUDGE, the FAITHFUL & TRUE, calls to memory the faults and sins of the past year, it is also known as "Yom Zikrown" — The Day of Memorial. And, since Jewish people feel they are then on trial before the JUDGE OF THE UNIVERSE, Rosh ha’Shanah is also known as the Day of Judgment (Yom ha'Din). The prayers of the Jewish people to our RIGHTEOUS LORD GOD is that the HOLY ONE, blessed be HE and blessed be HIS NAME, would inscribe their name in the "SEFER ha’HAYYIM — THE BOOK OF LIFE."

"Tashlikh (casting off)" is another custom observed before Rosh ha’Shana. In fulfillment of the text — "YOU will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea." [Micah (Michah) 7. 19 Tanakh, Nevi'im] Jews go to the edge of a running stream and throw rocks into the water. In doing so, prayers are recited concluding with the words: "May GOD cast our sins into the depths of the sea!"

There is another great event which will be proclaimed by the blowing of a trumpet! This event is going to rock this world as never any event in her history! "For the LORD YEHOVAH HIMSELF will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of GOD. And the dead in MESSIAH will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the LORD in the air. And thus we shall always be with the LORD." [1 Thessalonians 4. 16 - 17]

"Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed — in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." [1 Corinthians 15. 51 - 52]

The ETERNAL NEW YEAR began in the heart of those who accepted the MESSIAH YESHUA as their SAVIOR, REDEEMER & LORD. At that moment the heart was changed and all his sins were cast into the depths of the sea. The trumpet of the LORD OF HOSTS sounded announcing this great event and a new name was written in the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE! This New Creation is now awaiting the Sound of the Shofar (ram's horn) which shall usher in that greatest of all events since the days of YESHUA ha'MASHIACH'S flesh! O glorious day when the LORD shall come for HIS OWN — both Jew and Gentile — who have accepted the redemption HE purchased through HIS SUPREME SACRIFICE on the Altar of Calvary! Without question, the incredible wonder of this Festival of Trumpets is a memorial and a blessing.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Remembrance (zichronot) is to never forget that the ALMIGHTY loves you — imperfect, struggling, wonderful, one-of-a-kind you.
Rosh ha’Shanah is a time when we coronate (empower, enthrone) GOD as our KING. The ALMIGHTY ONE loves us more then we can imagine; HE is flawless and infallible. Everything HE does is for our good. All that happens to us is ultimately good and perfect.
Have a sweet and good new year — have health. happiness, love, and may there be true peace in the Land of Israel and the whole world; Come LORD YESHUA!
"L'Shanah Tova tikatevu v'techateimu — May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year!"
Days of Awe DAY 31 of REPENTANCE Ya’acov (James) describing the importance of actively doing GOD’S WORD, not just hearing. When the Hebrew people received the TORAH at Sinai, they declared with one voice, "We will hear and obey." In their declaration they were acknowledging the importance of doing and not just hearing. "So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of GOD. Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls." [James 1:19-21] By GOD’S amazing grace and mercy our sins are covered, but the hearing and doing of HIS commands on our part are fundamentally essential. The truth is we are directly affecting our ability to draw near to YEHOWAH when we are not obedient to HIS WORD.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
We cannot take the second step before we have the courage to take the first one, the hardest part of any endeavor is beginning.

TRUE RICHES
"Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the LIVING GOD, WHO gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life." [1 Timothy 6. 17 - 19]

Those who are true followers of the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA have so many true riches to enjoy that it is sad when many try hard to accumulate the uncertain riches of this world. What is worse, is preachers and teachers that promote the idea that CHRISTians are entitled to the goods of the world by naming and claiming it to be so. We are clearly instructed, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." [Matthew 6. 19 - 21]

The Apostle Paul speaks of "the riches of HIS goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering" [Romans 2. 4] which led YESHUA to provide our eternal salvation. For those who have been saved, Paul writes of "the riches of HIS glory on the vessels of mercy, which HE had prepared beforehand for glory." [Romans 9. 23]

In contemplating the great plan of GOD for both Jews and Gentiles, he exclaimed — "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of GOD! How unsearchable are HIS judgments and HIS ways past finding out!" [Romans 11. 33] In CHRIST THE ANOINTED ONE are "hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." [Colossians 2. 3]

When Paul wrote to the church in Ephesians, he reminded them that MESSIAH had redeemed them through HIS precious blood and forgave their sins "according to the riches of HIS grace" eager for them to understand "the riches of the glory of HIS inheritance in the saints." He told them that "GOD, WHO is rich in mercy" had saved them that sequentially "in the ages to come HE might show the exceeding riches of HIS grace in HIS kindness toward us in CHRIST JESUS." [Ephesians 1. 7, 18; 2. 4, 7]

In summarizing all these true riches which are — mercy, glory, grace, goodness, wisdom, knowledge, boldness, confidence — Paul spoke of "the unsearchable riches of CHRIST, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in GOD WHO created all things through JESUS CHRIST; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of GOD might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places." [Ephesians 3. 8 - 10] Jeremiah also spoke of this in the OLD COVENANT, "Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the strong man glory in his strength, let not the rich man glory in his riches; but only let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows ME, that I am the LORD, act in lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness in the world. For in these I delight — declares the LORD." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 9. 23 - 24 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

Truly, "For since the beginning of the world men have not heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen any GOD besides YOU, WHO acts for the one who waits for HIM." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 64. 4 Tanakh, Nevi’im] "For behold! I am creating a new heavens and a new earth; the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 65. 17 Tanakh, Nevi’im] Or, as Paul reestablished these texts by summarizing, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which GOD has prepared for those who love HIM." [1 Corinthians 2. 9] Thru HIS SPIRIT, GOD reveals HIS wondrous riches to man.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
O LORD, pardon the sins, transgressions and iniquities which we have committed before YOU. Purify us of all our errors and iniquities so that our life may be worthy of the name we bear and our home become a sanctuary consecrated to YOUR PRESENCE and dedicated to righteousness. Humbled by the sense of our weakness and our guilt, we ask YOU, O GOD of our fathers, to help us to serve YOU in sincerity and in truth; and in serving YOU, may our example help to lead many to YOU.
DAY 29 of REPENTANCE I am not so sure specifically how to define godless chatter, but I am pretty sure we should be able to recognize it when we hear it, even when it is coming out of our own mouths. We certainly need to be aware of its dangers and be sure to guard against it daily. "But shun profane and idle babblings (godless chatter), for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer." [2 Timothy 2:16-17] Not everything we talk about has GOD as its central theme, but there is a type of information exchange that is nothing but babbling. It is cutting to our spirits, thus to be avoided or completely stopped as much as is possible. "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]
Shanah Tova, Gmar Hatima Tova - A good year and may you be inscribed in the Book of Life.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. .

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Wise people talk because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something.

HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL
"I will make MY HOLY NAME known among MY people Israel, and never again will I let MY HOLY NAME be profaned. And the nations shall know that I AM the LORD, the HOLY ONE in Israel." [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 39. 7 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

This WONDERFUL NAME OF GOD, "QADOWSH ha'SHEM (HOLY, THE NAME)" was often used during the days of the later kings of Judah. The strong emphasis on this particular name during the later period of Judah's kingdom probably was because of the prevalent un-holiness of the nation during those years, finally culminating in the captivity of Judah itself. CREATOR GOD stressed again and again that HE was the "HOLY ONE" and that "you shall sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am holy." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 11. 44 Tanakh, Torah] {In Hebrew, the word for holy can be either "qadowsh/qadosh" — translates sacred, set apart.}

This theme is prominent in most of the 33 passages where this MAJESTIC NAME is used; but it is especially emphasized in its final incident. The context of this latter passage is the prophesied invasion of Israel by "Gog of the land of Magog" who will "advance upon MY people of Israel like a cloud covering the earth...in the latter days." [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 38. 2, 16 Tanakh, Nevi'im] At that time, says the LORD, "a terrible earthquake shall befall the land of Israel; and I will manifest MY greatness and MY holiness, and make MYSELF known in the sight of many nations. And they shall know that I am the LORD." [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 38. 19, 23 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Then at last, HIS people will never pollute HIS HOLY NAME any more and "from that time on, the House of Israel shall know that I the LORD am their GOD — when they dwell in their land secure and untroubled, when I have brought them back from among the peoples and gathered them out of the lands of their enemies and have manifested MY holiness through them in the sight of many nations. They shall know that I the LORD am their GOD when, having exiled them among the nations, I will gather them back into their land and leave none of them behind. I will never again hide MY face from them, for I will pour out MY SPIRIT upon the House of Israel — declares the LORD GOD." [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 39. 22, 29 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Beyond doubt, this will fully come about when our wonderful LORD MESSIAH YESHUA returns and sets up HIS Kingdom. Are you looking for HIS return? It is sure to happen soon, HIS coming for HIS Church is so very near!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Eternal is YOUR power, O LORD, YOU are mighty to save. In lovingkindness YOU sustain the living; in the multitude of YOUR mercies, YOU preserve all; YOU uphold the falling, heal the sick; bring freedom to the captives and keep faith with YOUR children in death as in life. Who is like unto YOU, ALMIGHTY GOD, AUTHOR of life and death, SOURCE of salvation? Praised are YOU, O LORD, WHO has implanted within us immortal life. How can we help but worship, adore and praise YOU our HOPE, our SALVATION! Know in WHOM you believe: "I know WHOM I have believed and am persuaded that HE is able to keep what I have committed to HIM until that Day." 2 Timothy 1:12
DAY 27 of REPENTANCE Writing to Titus, the young pastor, Paul again compares how we once were to how we are now. We can rejoice in our new life, but we must continue to be aware of the dangers of returning to our human nature. "Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men. For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another." [Titus 3:1-3] "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. .

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. .

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. .

This WONDERFUL NAME OF GOD, "QADOWSH ha'SHEM (HOLY, THE NAME)" was often used during the days of the later kings of Judah. The strong emphasis on this particular name during the later period of Judah's kingdom probably was because of the prevalent un-holiness of the nation during those years, finally culminating in the captivity of Judah itself. CREATOR GOD stressed again and again that HE was the "HOLY ONE" and that "you shall sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am holy." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 11. 44 Tanakh, Torah] {In Hebrew, the word for holy can be either "qadowsh/qadosh" — translates sacred, set apart.}

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The tragedy of life is not in the fact of death, but that so many die without ever having lived knowing the BELOVED SAVIOR, that they may have life more abundantly now, and life eternal after they die.

JERICHO'S ENIGMA
"Do this six days, with seven priests bearing seven rams' horns preceding the Ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the horns." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 6. 4 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

The battle plan to conquer Jericho violated every ordinance of the TORAH, for the Levites were to be exempt from military duties, yet they led the procession. [Leviticus/Vayikra 1. 2 - 3; 45 - 49] "The priests took up the Ark of the LORD while seven priests bearing seven rams' horns marched in front of the Ark of the LORD, blowing the horns as they marched. And the armed men went in front of them, and the rear guard marched behind the Ark of the LORD, with the horns sounding all the time." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 6. 13 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

This also looks as if they were also violating the Sabbath, for here at Jericho they marched seven times as much as on the other six days. "On the seventh day (Sabbath), they rose at daybreak and marched around the city, in the same manner, seven times; that was the only day that they marched around the city seven times." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 6. 15 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

This instance is the forerunner as anticipated for the "seven trumpet judgments" in Revelation 8 & 9. It is interesting to note that Joshua instructed them to "maintain silence" until the final series of seven on the seventh day. "Do not shout do not let your voices be heard, and do not let a sound issue from your lips UNTIL the moment that I command you — Shout!...then you shall shout." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 6. 10 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

In Revelation there is a strange period of silence prior to the seven trumpets. "When HE opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour." [Revelation 8. 1] When our OMNIPOTENT HOLY GOD is present, what can man possibly utter; for GOD "will guard the steps of HIS faithful saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness and shall perish — for not by strength shall man prevail." [1 Samuel (Shemuel Alef) 2. 9 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

And, when the RIGHTEOUS ALMIGHTY ONE is aroused from HIS Holy Habitation, man must be still: "Let us be silent...for the LORD our GOD has put us to silence...because we sinned against the LORD." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 8. 14 Tanakh, Nevi'im] "The LORD is in HIS Holy Temple — let all the earth be silent before HIM." [Habakkuk 2. 20] "Be silent all flesh, before the LORD! For HE is roused from HIS Holy Habitation." [Zechariah (Zecharyah) 2. 17 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

If we would but trust and obey, we would find HIS way to be perfect and proven; and, when we cannot see, we can clearly follow HIS VOICE. "The WAY OF GOD is PERFECT; the WORD OF THE LORD is proven PURE; HE is a SHIELD to all who seek refuge and trust in HIM." [Psalms (Tehillym) 18. 30 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Open your mouth in holiness and purity, with song and psalm, and bless and praise, glorify and revere, sanctify and ascribe sovereignty to the NAME of the DIVINE KING, the GREAT, MIGHTY & AWESOME ONE, holy is HE. Take upon yourself the yoke of the Kingdom of Heaven and give sanction to one another to bless the CREATOR. In tranquil joy of spirit, with pure speech and holy melody exclaim: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD OF HOSTS, the whole earth is full of HIS glory."
DAY 28 of REPENTANCE An unrepentant heart will cause us to be religious and legalistic, insisting that things be explained and understood according to our own interpretations. We must resist this tendency. "But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned." [Titus 3:9-11] MIDRASH — the findings of a deeper meaning, a discussion — can be healthy and useful because we learn from each other. Be cautious, however, that these discussions do not become contentious. "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]
L’Shanah Tova! Wishing all of you a good year (5778), not one just good for us, but a year where we do good to others.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
A clean conscience makes a soft pillow.

SLICHOT — THINK & PRAY
On the closing of this Sabbath of Repentance, O our GOD, open our hearts to its solemn call to turn from the vanities of life and consider our destiny in the light of YOUR ETERNAL TRUTH. Help us to see whether we have indeed hearkened to YOUR VOICE and have done justly, loved mercy and walked humbly before YOU, our MAKER. Or, whether we have been negligent in the fulfillment of our duties and have strayed from the path of moral strength and integrity.

O RIGHTEOUS JUDGE OF THE WORLD, as we survey our life, we are filled with shame that we have fallen short of the purpose for which YOU did send us, and we have failed to use aright the numerous gifts which YOU have given us. Humbly we confess that our intentions and our deeds accuse us before the tribunal of our conscience and convict us in YOUR sight.

O GREAT GOD OF HOLINESS, YOU know that we are but dust and in our weakness we often yield to selfish indulgences. Create in us a pure heart and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Strengthen us in our resolve to mend our ways. Let our struggle with error and sin lead us to a clearer realization of the Truth of YOUR HOLY WORD and to a firmer adherence to YOUR LAW OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. Help us to remove every misunderstanding between ourselves and our fellowmen.

YOU, LORD GOD OF HOSTS alone know when the day shall dawn in which the light of YOUR truth, brighter than that of the visible sun, shall encircle the whole earth. But, surely that great day so fervently prayed for shall come, as surely as none of YOUR LIFE-GIVING WORDS return empty, but shall accomplish that for which YOU did send them. O GOD, YOU are plenteous in mercy and forgiveness, please establish peace and harmony in our souls that we may be truly at one with YOU.

Then joy shall thrill all hearts and from one end of the earth to the other and the gladsome cry shall echo: "Hear, O Israel, hear all mankind, the ETERNAL our GOD, the ETERNAL is ONE." Then myriads will make pilgrimage to YOUR HOUSE which shall be called the "HOUSE OF PRAYER" and from their lips shall sound in spiritual joy: "LORD, open for us the gates of YOUR TRUTH. Selah Lift up your heads, O gates, O you gates! Be lifted up, you everlasting doors! So the KING OF GLORY may come in! WHO is the KING OF GLORY? — the LORD OF HOSTS, mighty and valiant, the LORD, valiant in battle. O gates, lift up your heads! Lift them up, you everlasting doors, so the KING OF GLORY may come in! WHO is the KING OF GLORY? — the LORD OF HOSTS, HE is the KING OF GLORY! Selah" [Psalms (Tehillym) 24. 7 - 10 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

May we ever thank YOU, our MAJESTIC LORD GOD, for sending YESHUA ha'MASHIACH to be our only LOVING REDEEMER. And, may we ever revere, glorify and honour YOUR HOLY EXALTED NAME with praise. We humbly bow to CHRIST JESUS OF NAZARETH, our WONDERFUL LORD, SAVIOR & REDEEMER.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
As we close this Sabbath Day, we rejoice in the new day and continue praising ALMIGHTY GOD for HIS FEASTS! Our prayers for you and your family is that your life be filled with health, happiness, and prosperity in knowing our EXTRAORDINARY LOVING SAVIOR personally. Praised are YOU, YEHOWAH, our GOD, SOVEREIGN of the Universe.
Slichot begins tonight, the Saturday night before Rosh ha’Shana. This is a special series of prayers that invoke GOD’S mercy. After the sin of the Golden Calf, Moses asked GOD to explain HIS system for relating with the world. GOD’S answer, known as the 13 Attributes of Mercy forms the essence of the Slichot prayers. The 13 Attributes speak of GOD’S patience, the same GOD WHO created us with a clean slate and a world of opportunity, gives us another opportunity if we’ve misused the first one.
Slichot should be said with a minyan (the quorum of 10 Jewish male adults) — however, if this is not possible, then it should still be said alone, omitting the parts in Aramaic and the 13 Attributes of Mercy.
The most important feature of Elul (the preparation month) is to make a plan for your life because the day will come when each of us will stand before the ALMIGHTY to ask for another year to serve HIM, and we will want to know what it is we are asking for.
L'Shanah Tova U'Metukah — We wish you and your families a happy and healthy year — May your name be inscribed in the BOOK OF LIFE!
Have a joyous week!
DAY 26 of REPENTANCE We could have vigorous discussions about translations, interpretations, applications, and so forth, without descending into the sins mentioned in the following verses. We must be very careful to watch ourselves, lest we transgress. "And those who have believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brethren, but rather serve them because those who are benefited are believers and beloved. Teach and exhort these things. If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wrangling (disputes, quarrels) of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself." [1 Timothy 6:2-5] One of the biggest stumbling blocks for us is the conviction that we are right. We may very well be correct; but our interaction with each other still must not descend into useless disputes, bickering and such "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Honor is measured by him who gives it, not by him who receives it.

CUSTOMS — PIDYON HA'BEN
Either phrase, Pidyon ha'Ben (Redemption of the son) or Pidyon ha'Bechor (Redemption of the first-born male) is correct. The child has been considered by Jews, even since olden times, as the greatest of human treasures. To produce and raise children is a religious commandment and is the cause for rejoicing in the home. However, when a son is born, there is special joy, for the parents trust that he will carry on the family name with honour. Jewish women consider it a great blessing from the GREAT & ALMIGHTY GOD to bear a son. It is natural that the first child should be received with special attention by the new parents. The oldest son has always taken first rank in the Jewish family. In case of the father's death, he usually becomes the head, to whom the younger brothers and sisters look for advice and help. He inherits a larger share of the family's possessions than any of the other children.

Ever since the first promise of redemption, Jewish women (who are very devout) have hoped to be the mother of the REDEEMER. Deeply embedded in the Jewish soul there is the hope of the coming MESSIAH YESHUA and, "who knows" — perhaps their little boy will grow up to be the DELIVERER OF ISRAEL! Eve, when she gave birth to Cain, believed it was HE for whom she waited to save her from her sins. She exclaimed: "I have acquired a MAN, the LORD." [Genesis/Bereshith 4. 1 Hebrew Translation] In English, it is translated as "I have gotten a man-child from the LORD." The word translated as from is simply the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet, Aleph - Tau, which represents HIM WHO is the FIRST and the LAST, the BEGINNING and the ENDING, WHO is, WHO was, and WHO ever shall be! What a disappointment to her that Cain turned out to be, not the PROMISED DELIVERER, but the first murderer; not the LIFE-GIVER, but the life-taker!

One glorious day in the City of David, an event took place of which Isaiah wrote: "For a CHILD has been born to us, a SON has been given to us. And authority has settled on HIS shoulders. HE will be called WONDERFUL (Pele), COUNSELOR (Yavats), THE MIGHTY GOD (Gibowr El), ETERNAL FATHER (Ad Aby), RULER (Prince) OF PEACE (Sar Shalowm)." [Isaiah/Yeshayah 9. 6] This was a CHILD like no other child before HIM or after, who was the GREATEST OF HEAVEN'S TREASURES; HE is the SON WHO far surpasses all the sons of earth; HIS was a birth at which all the hosts of heaven rejoiced; Miryam (Mary), who gave birth to this SON, truly could declare in reality: "I have acquired a MAN-CHILD, the LORD!" for JESUS THE CHRIST had come!

The birth of the SAVIOR in the City of David caused all heaven "and the morning stars to sing together" — but one writer has expressed a significant fact: "Though MESSIAH a thousand times in Bethlehem be born, and not within thy heart, thy soul will be forlorn." When HE, the MESSIAH, the unique SON OF THE LIVING GOD, is born in the heart, what rejoicing in heaven! By faith we who are sons of men, become sons of GOD through the new birth. Because YESHUA came into our humanity, we can become partakers of HIS divinity. JESUS, WHO was born the SON of Abraham, the SON of David, brings us into the family of GOD; and we also are sons of David, sons of Abraham, of the heavenly family by faith. "HE came to HIS OWN, and HIS OWN did not receive HIM. BUT AS MANY AS RECEIVED HIM, to them HE gave the right to become the sons of GOD." [John 1. 11 - 12]

"But every firstling ass you shall redeem with a sheep; and if you will not redeem it, you must break its neck. AND YOU MUST REDEEM EVERY FIRSTBORN MALE AMONG YOUR CHILDREN." [Exodus (Shemot) 13. 13 Tanakh, Torah] According to the teachings of Rashi: "The law of redemption is applicable to the ass only of the unclean animals, because the first-born of the Egyptians are in the BIBLE compared to the ass." [see Ezekiel/Yehezke-El 23. 20] "As the ass is an unclean animal, it has to be redeemed with a lamb." [Abraham Ibn Ezra]

Pidyon Ha'Ben, the "redemption of the first born son," takes place n the thirty-first day after the baby’s birth, and involves "buying him back from a Kohen." [see Numbers 18. 15] A home gathering is arranged to which relatives and friends are invited. Among the guests is a Kohen (priest) who is thought to be a descendant of Aaron. The ceremony consists of giving the Kohen the sum of five shekalim (about $2.50), or the more popular sum of five silver dollars, and reciting appropriate prayers. The boy is then pronounced redeemed or freed from the service commanded for all first-born males. {Unless the Kohen is very poor, he returns the money to the parents who give it to a worthy Jewish cause.} This practice is almost not practiced today, but among the very orthodox Jews, the first-born is always redeemed, not with a lamb as in the BIBLICAL commandment, but as stated, with five silver dollars. This custom is kept in remembrance of the salvation of the first-born in Egypt when the ALMIGHTY AWESOME ONE commanded the Israelites to substitute a lamb for their deliverance from death. The redemption ceremony is followed by a party as an expression of thanksgiving for this privilege.

It is written concerning the firstborn SON of Miryam (Mary): "Now when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought HIM to Jerusalem to present HIM to the LORD (as it is written in the Law of the LORD — Every male who opens the womb shall be called HOLY TO THE LORD)." [Luke 2. 22 - 23]

"And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the CONSOLATION OF ISRAEL, and the HOLY SPIRIT was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the HOLY SPIRIT that he would not see death before he had seen the LORD'S MESSIAH. So he came by the SPIRIT into the Temple. And when the parents brought in the CHILD YESHUA (JESUS), to do for HIM ACCORDING TO THE CUSTOM OF THE LAW, he took HIM up in his arms and blessed GOD and said — LORD, now YOU are letting YOUR servant depart in peace, according to YOUR WORD; for my eyes have seen YOUR SALVATION which YOU have prepared before the face of all peoples, the LIGHT to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the GLORY of YOUR people Israel." [Luke 2. 25 - 32]

Simeon, who perhaps had held many boy babies in his arms in the Temple at the Redemption Ceremony, was led of the SPIRIT OF GOD on this special occasion to see and recognize the PROMISED MESSIAH. This SON needed not to be redeemed for HE came to redeem all those who put their trust in HIM. Everyone has the same privilege as Simeon to see and recognize in YESHUA, THE REDEEMER, the SAVIOR of the world! HE has redeemed us, not with corruptible things but with HIS OWN blood! JESUS is the SUBSTITUTE — the ANTI-TYPE of the lamb which redeemed the first-born of Israel. Comparable to the words of Simeon the devout when he took the CHILD YESHUA in his arms and blessed GOD, we who know our DELIVERER can also exclaim, "LORD, we have seen YOUR SALVATION which YOU prepared before the face of all peoples!" KING JESUS, the LIGHT that brings revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of YOUR people, Israel.

Sha’alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Welcome Sabbath — Queen of the week! [Sabbath Reading: Nitzavim/Vayelech “You are standing”/“And he went” – Deuteronomy 29:10-31:30; Isaiah 61:10-63:9; John 12:41-50; Matthew 21:9-17] Praised are YOU, YEHOWAH, our GOD, SOVEREIGN of the Universe, WHO makes us holy with YOUR mitzvoth and favors us with the Holy Shabbat, lovingly and graciously given to us. Assuredly, the KEEPER of Israel gives good gifts to those who love and obey HIM!
We wish you and your family a very happy and healthy year – Shanah Tova uMetukah! With GOD, it is crucial to remember that no matter how we feel about HIM, HIS love for us is unwavering. The call of the Shofar reminds us that the ALMIGHTY KING OF THE UNIVERSE loves us, is thinking about us, and cares about our lives. HE is judging us because HE loves us. What will you do with that love? It will make the difference of where you spend eternity.
DAY 25 of REPENTANCE Paul, wrote to Timothy, his son in the faith, about a specific category of people when he says — "And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not." [1 Timothy 5:13] The ruling directive at work here applies to all of us. It is so easy to allow gossip to show up in our interactions. We may even declare that we are expressing a request for prayer, when the basic effect is still gossip.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
It is better to be ashamed of yourself than for others to be ashamed of you.

BE THE EXAMPLE
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity...give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that is in you." [1 Timothy 4. 12 - 14]

After receiving LORD MESSIAH YESHUA as our SAVIOR and DELIVERER from sin's bondage, HE gives us a work to do — not for our salvation — HE alone can save us, but we are to do HIS will to show our love for HIM to those around us as well as to principalities and powers in high places. And, we are to continue being faithful witnesses of HIM. "When I say of the righteous — He shall surely live — and relying on his righteousness, he commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but for the iniquity that he has committed HE SHALL DIE." [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 33. 13 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Therefore, as faithful believers who love our LORD JESUS, we should continue in:
Word: "For the WORD OF GOD is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." [Hebrews 4. 12] "Is not MY WORD like a fire? — says the LORD — And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" [Jeremiah/Yirmeyah 23. 29]

Conduct: "Abstain from all appearance (every form) of evil." [1 Thessalonians 5. 22]

Love: "This is MY commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." [John 15. 12]

Spirit: "By this we know that we abide in HIM, and HE in us, because HE has given us of HIS SPIRIT." [1 John 4. 13]

Faith: "Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." [James 2. 17]

Purity: "Draw near to GOD and HE will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." [James 4. 8] "Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before MY eyes. Cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice." [Isaiah/Yeshayah) 1. 16 - 17a]

Interpretation: "Be diligent to present yourself approved to GOD, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the WORD OF TRUTH." [2 Timothy 2. 15]
Exhortation: "Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the LIVING GOD; but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today" — lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin." [Hebrews 3. 12 - 13]

Doctrine: "Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you." [1 Timothy 4. 16] "Stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle." [2 Thessalonians 2. 15]

Know for certain that "we are HIS workmanship, created in CHRIST JESUS for good works, which GOD prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." [Ephesians 2. 10] "We are HIS witnesses to these things, and so also is the HOLY SPIRIT WHOM GOD has given to those who obey HIM." [Acts 5. 32] It is such a privilege and honor to serve such a WONDERFUL MASTER, there is no greater love.

Sha’alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Unto YOU alone, O LORD GOD do we turn; for YOU alone abide deep in the solitude of our hearts. May we ever trust in YOU, HEAVENLY FATHER, and be unafraid in the face of the inscrutable (unfathomable, immeasurable, unknowable, unimaginable) years ahead, and see that everything happens for the best. Because of YOU LORD, there is perfect peace in our hearts at the nearness of YOU.
DAY 24 of REPENTANCE Our goal is sanctification and purity, to be able to stand before GOD’S Throne of Grace blameless. We know that the blood of MESSIAH YESHUA has purchased us; and we do not seek to cheapen HIS sacrifice. We know that HE has set us free. Nevertheless, we must not allow sin to entangle us and interrupt our communion with HIM. "For this is the will of GOD, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the pagans who do not know GOD; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the LORD is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. For GOD did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness." [1 Thessalonians 4:3-7] Our eyes need to be on HIM, on HIS WORD. Let us chase after holiness. "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a trustworthy spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. .

This WONDERFUL NAME OF GOD, "QADOWSH ha'SHEM (HOLY, THE NAME)" was often used during the days of the later kings of Judah. The strong emphasis on this particular name during the later period of Judah's kingdom probably was because of the prevalent un-holiness of the nation during those years, finally culminating in the captivity of Judah itself. CREATOR GOD stressed again and again that HE was the "HOLY ONE" and that "you shall sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am HOLY." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 11. 44 Tanakh, Torah] {In Hebrew, the word for holy can be either "qadowsh/qadosh" — translates sacred, set apart.}

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
I pray that no offense shall happen through me.

THREE ARKS
"When she could hide him no longer, she made an ark of bulrushes for him and caulked it with bitumen slime and with pitch. She put the child into it; and placed it among the reeds by the bank of the Nile." [Exodus (Shemot) 2. 3 Tanakh, Torah]

There are two different Hebrew words for ark: 'arown and teba meaning box-like container — chest, coffin. The first ark mentioned in HOLY SCRIPTURE was the Great Ark ('arown) of Noah which was overlaid and inlaid with "pitch." [Genesis/Shemot 6. 14] This was not fossil fuel (oil-based pitch) for that type oil was probably formed in the upheavals of the flood and dead animals. There are, however, various coals that are produced from buckwheat, chestnuts, eggs, flaxseed, mustard-seed, nuts, peas and peat which form either a hard coal bituminous or soft coal substance which the oil-based pitch most probably was made from. The Hebrew word for this pitch is "kaphar" or covering which is also translated "atonement." [Leviticus/Vayikra 17. 11]

The second ark was Moses' Ark ('arown), was daubed or smeared with slime and pitch; and this pitch was of oil base. Then, the last was GOD'S ARK (teba) OF THE COVENANT which was built for the Holy Place in the Tabernacle in the wilderness. It was overlaid "with pure gold." [Exodus/Shemot 25. 11] The first ark preserved the founders of the Gentile civilization; the second preserved the prophet of the Jewish dispensation; and the third preserved the INSCRIBED DIVINE WORDS for the saving of all generations. [Exodus/Shemot 31. 17 - 18; Deuteronomy/Devarim 10. 1 - 5]

Noah's Ark, like the people which he established, was built strong enough to endure throughout man's earthly existence, and its remains are still on the mountains of Ararat.

Moses' Ark, like the nation which he founded, was only enduring enough for its immediate intent and purpose.

GOD'S Ark and its sacred contents, in contrast, will last forever. When Nebuchadnezzar carried away all the treasures from the Temple in Jerusalem, no mention was made of this "Greatest Treasure of all treasures." [2 Chronicles/Dibre Hayamin Bet 36. 18 - 19] The Apostle John reveals why in the last book of HOLY WRIT, "And the TEMPLE OF GOD was opened in heaven and there was seen in HIS TEMPLE, the ARK OF HIS TESTAMENT" [Revelation 11. 19] forever reminding GOD'S people of HIS ETERNAL WORD — MESSIAH YESHUA . . . the LIFE-GIVING WORD WHO became flesh!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Exalted and hallowed be GOD'S greatness in this world of Your creation. May Your will be fulfilled and YOUR sovereignty revealed in the days of our lifetime and the life of the whole House of Israel speedily and in our time, Amen. May YOU be blessed forever, even to all eternity. May YOU, MOST HOLY ONE, be blessed, praised & honored, extolled & glorified, adored & exalted above all else. Blessed are YOU beyond all blessings & hymns, praises & consolations that may be uttered in this world, Amen. May peace abundant descend from heaven with life for us and to all Israel. Amen
MOST HOLY LORD, continue to impart YOUR blessing upon us. Teach us to seek YOU evermore within the sanctuary of our souls, within the tabernacle of YOUR world, and in the congregation of YOUR worshipers. May the grace of our LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH be with you always, Amen!
DAY 23 of REPENTANCE Paul effortlessly wrote about putting to death the old nature. It is something we too must continue to do, standing firm, putting off your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts. [Ephesians 4:22-23] If we are not vigilant, we will find ourselves confronting the old nature in us, trying to get a grip again. We must stand firm to our higher calling. "But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of HIM WHO created him." [Colossians 3:8-10] In our exile, we are exposed to worldly perspectives and attitudes all around us that will erode our faith if we are not on our guard.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Two things are infinite: the OMNIPOTENT CREATOR GOD’S wisdom and human stupidity.

ANGER MANAGEMENT
"I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire." [Matthew 5. 22]

Taking this SCRIPTURE alone might indicate that for a follower of CHRIST, one was never to get angry. There are several other Texts that could be used that way, such as, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." [Ephesians 4. 31] However, YESHUA is teaching that only the anger "without a cause" was wrong and would produce judgment.

If anger were never permitted for a believer, it would contradict even the occasional example of MESSIAH HIMSELF. "And when HE had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts." [Mark 3. 5] The RIGHTEOUS ONE was angered because of the hypocrites among the Pharisees who were plotting to destroy HIM for healing a disabled man on the Sabbath.

We are never justified in getting angry over some personal injury or insult, but should — for CHRIST’S sake — take it on the chin in order to try living in peace. "But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth." [Colossians 3. 8 ] "Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men." [Romans 12. 17 - 18]

Yet, if we do get angry in spite of ourselves, we are commanded: "Be angry, and do not sin — Do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil." [Ephesians 4. 26 - 28] "Be angry and sin no more. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in the LORD." [Psalms/Tehillym 4. 4 - 5 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Living in this world there will be situations that involve injury, rudeness, and insults to the precious name of our SAVIOR or HIS amazing works where anger is certainly "with cause." Nevertheless, even then, the HOLY LORD GOD counsels — "let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of GOD." [James 1. 19 - 20] And, "Do not let your spirit be quickly vexed, for anger abides in the bosom of fools." [Ecclesiastes/Kohelet 7. 9 Tanakh, Kethuvim] "Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is MINE, I will repay" — says the LORD." [Romans 12. 19] Truly, the LORD knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the DAY OF JUDGMENT and HIS ways are better then anything we could come up with.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Believe on the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA and be saved. Know that some glorious day we will behold that BLESSED HOPE and we will spend eternity in HIS PRESENCE and rest in the many promises that are to come into fulfillment when we but step into HIS arms; in the MASTER’S mighty hands we are complete and whole. Because of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, we can face tomorrow and be comforted now knowing we have been changed for a reason, transformed not for a season, but transformed for Eternal Life. Amen
DAY 22 of REPENTANCE Sometimes when we are convinced there is no more wickedness in us, the fact is it is deeply rooted. KING of kings, CREATOR of the universe, we plead that YOU open our eyes and help us to change our perspectives from all reprehensible, sinful behaviors that we can see ourselves as YOU see us; cleanse and change us into YOUR likeness. "Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry." [Colossians 3:5] "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Sometimes we give way to despair to free ourselves from the burden of hope.

DECEIVING PROPHETS
"Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold." [Matthew 24. 11 - 12]

The two main Gifts of the SPIRIT were those of "apostle" and "prophet" — given in the apostolic era. The Church itself was "built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, MESSIAH YESHUA HIMSELF being the CHIEF CORNERSTONE." [Ephesians 2. 20] One of the commissions of these men was to receive and communicate GOD’S revelation to HIS people — first verbally, then written permanently as is recorded in the NEW COVENANT — "Which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the SPIRIT to HIS holy (dedicated to GOD) apostles and prophets." [Ephesians 3. 5]

The Apostle Paul also revealed that such prophecies would cease once they were complete. "For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away." [1 Corinthians 13. 9 - 10] Clearly referring by the context to the complete revelation of GOD. When the last Book of HOLY SCRIPTURE was transmitted to the Church by the last living apostle, as the LORD warned us throughout the entire BIBLE to neither "add to" or "take away from the WORDS of the BOOK of this prophecy." [Revelation 22. 18 – 19; also Deuteronomy 4. 2; 12. 32; Proverbs 30. 6; Ecclesiastes 3. 14; Jeremiah 26. 2]

Just as the LORD YESHUA warned "many false prophets have gone out into the world" [1 John 4. 1], and they have deceived many. One existing self-asserted seventh century “false prophet” from Arabia, received certain “revelations” from a “god of this world” that were vastly different from those of the LOVING CREATOR GOD of the BIBLE, and his followers now number over a billion and growing rapidly.

The HOLY WRITTEN WORD OF GOD zealously warns us that, "Even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed." [Galatians 1. 8 – 9] Just as "there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the LORD who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the WAY OF TRUTH will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber." [2 Peter 2. 1 – 3]

There are and have been many others, before and since, and still the SOVEREIGN LORD continues to warn us to guard ourselves and always to "beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits." [Matthew 7. 15 – 16] The basic standard by which to test any so-called prophecy, ancient or modern, is whether or not it fully agrees with and conforms to the WRITTEN WORD OF TRUTH, the HOLY SCRIPTURES. "To the Law and to the Testimony! If they do not speak according to this WORD, it is because there is no light in them." [Isaiah/Yeshayah 8. 20]
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to GOD, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the WORD OF TRUTH" [2 Timothy 2. 15]; and be meticulously vigilant and faithful "fruit inspectors."
Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Praised are YOU, O LORD GOD, for great is YOUR love for us and YOUR compassion boundless. Be gracious to us that we may understand and fulfill the teachings of YOUR REVERED WORD. Enlighten our eyes in YOUR Law that we may cling to YOUR commandments. Thank YOU for YOUR saving power, for from YOU comes our help. Draw us nearer to YOU to serve YOU in faithfulness. Joyfully, we lift our voices and proclaim YOUR PRECIOUS NAME.
DAY 21 of REPENTANCE We have our standards of what we consider to be respectful conversation. Talking openly about sex is usually frowned upon. These things are meant to be kept privately. However, there are no secrets from ALMIGHTY GOD. We know HE sees all, HE knows our inmost thoughts, our every word and act. We cannot hide these or anything else from HIM. Not repenting because we somehow think it is a secret and we can keep it hidden leads to the fruit of an unrepentant heart. "Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but GOD will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the LORD, and the LORD for the body. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." [1 Corinthians 6:13, 18]
Be real with the LOVING SAVIOR about the things you have convinced yourself are hidden. Confess, repent, and be free. "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a committed spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

Prayer is a path where there is none.

ROCK OF JUDGMENT & PROVISION
"The LORD spoke to Moses saying, — You and your brother Aaron take the rod and assemble the community, and before their very eyes speak to the rock (Hebrew: cela — rock of provision) to yield its water. Thus you shall produce water for them from the rock and provide drink for the congregation and their beasts." [Numbers (B'Midvar) 20. 7 - 8 Tanakh, Torah]

Once before under similar circumstances, OMNIPOTENT GOD had Moses strike the rock (Hebrew: t'sur — rock of judgment) in Horeb to produce its waters for the thirsty Israelites. [Exodus/Shemot 17. 6] Both times a spring of water erupted which had then supplied their needs. When the Israelites started taking the supply for granted instead of being grateful for their blessings, then the HOLY ONE dried up the miraculous waters. The LORD, the FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATERS desired for them to come to HIM, their "SOURCE" of blessings, and ask once again. Instead, they grumbled and forgot all ALMIGHTY GOD'S previous gifts.

Therefore, YEHOWAH told Moses to do the asking for them, as they watched. Moses was to take the Rod of GOD, by which all the miracles were performed. Thus showing the peoples that Moses and Aaron were still their leaders, and the GREAT GOD OF HOSTS was still able to supply their needs. In his anger, however, Moses first rebuked the doubting Israelites, then struck the rock.

The ROCK OF JUDGMENT and the ROCK OF PROVISION both picture the LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH; HE was STRUCK in judgment for us, once and for all; and ever after we are to SPEAK to HIM. For their disobedience and neglect to bless the TRUE & LIVING GOD in the eyes of the children of Israel, neither Moses nor Aaron were allowed to enter Canaan, the Promised Land.

The EL ELYON (GOD MOST HIGH) alone is "THE ONE" WHO is due all trust, confidence, honor, glory and praise. The MASTER CREATOR desires that we come to HIM in faith believing, and with thankful hearts for HIS abundant provisions and loving care. Oh that we would respect and obey HIS WORD and find life abundantly blessed, that is HIS perfect will for each of our lives…Obedience!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Compassion should never be compromised because of your authority. An integral part of dignity is compassion. Tiferet ― harmony ― is critical for successful leadership. "Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous." Psalms/Tehillym 112:4 "Have compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous ― not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling; but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing." 1 Peter 3:8-9
DAY 20 of REPENTANCE Much too often our wicked behavior attempts to disguise itself as discipline, loyalty, and commitment. Are we so devoted to our interpretations of things that we allow a gulf or a wall to emerge between us and our brothers?
"Some indeed preach CHRIST even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: The former preach CHRIST from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Gospel." [Philippians 1:15-17] The most painful wounds are inflicted by those we consider to be friends and brothers, loved ones, respected teachers and mentors.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The 50-50-90 Rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there is a 90% probability you’ll get it wrong.

TESTING FOR GOLD
"The SPIRIT immediately drove HIM (YESHUA) out into the wilderness. And HE was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and HE was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to HIM." [Mark 1. 12 - 13]

This forty day testing of YESHUA came immediately after THE VOICE from Heaven was heard proclaiming HIM to be the SON OF GOD. There in the wilderness the BELOVED SAVIOR fasted for forty long days and nights, continually being urged by Satan to use HIS DIVINE power to meet HIS OWN needs and exalt HIS OWN position.

This constant temptation did not end with the forty days. The MESSIAH "was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin." [Hebrews 4. 15] The HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL was fully human, but never yielded to sin in any degree. HE "who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in HIS mouth" [1 Peter 2. 22]; HE "knew no sin" [2 Corinthians 5. 21]; and "in HIM there is no sin." [1 John 3. 5-a]

You may inquire, But what if HE had sinned? The answer is straightforward. . . then we would not have had a SAVIOR and we would be separated forever from the RIGHTEOUS & HOLY GOD. Our ABSOLUTELY PERFECT & LOVING KINSMAN REDEEMER remained "without blemish and without spot" [1 Peter 1. 19] throughout HIS life, and for that reason is able to "take away our sins" [1 John 3. 5-b] by HIS substitutionary death and resurrection.

In resisting temptation, MESSIAH YESHUA acted in HIS human strength, depending on the ALMIGHTY GOD and the HOLY SPIRIT, just as we must do to overcome our tests in this world. At the same time, the SON OF MAN was still the SON OF GOD, and "GOD cannot be tempted by evil, nor does HE HIMSELF tempt anyone." [James 1. 13] YESHUA and HIS HEAVENLY FATHER knew that HE would never sin. The testing was really for our benefit so that all of us can know of a certainty that MESSIAH, our SAVIOR is forever sinless and we can be confident that HE alone is our BELOVED PERFECT REDEEMER.

Our sufferings will never match the sufferings which HE endured, the LOVING SAVIOR paid the debt HE did not owe that we might become the children of the MOST HIGH. However, our testings are to test us to bring us into the likeness of our ALL-TOGETHER LOVELY ONE and we should come out as pure gold. Just as our LORD declared…that HE will purify, make white, and refine many "through the fire, will refine [us] as silver is refined, and test [us] as gold is tested." [Zechariah/Zecharyah 13. 9; also see Daniel/Danyel 12. 10] The LORD will perfect us and our fruits will be rich in humility, contentment, self-control, alacrity (enthusiasm, eagerness) magnanimity (generosity, fairness) faithful and true.

Therefore, our prayer for you always is that "our GOD would count you worthy of this calling and fulfill all the good pleasure of HIS goodness and the work of faith with power that the NAME of our LORD JESUS CHRIST may be glorified in you, and you in HIM, according to the grace of our GOD and the LORD JESUS CHRIST." [2 Thessalonians 1. 11 - 12] What a marvelous hope we have, to be forever with our WONDERFUL LORD & KING some glorious day, and that day is coming soon.

Sha’alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Bidding farewell to Sabbath — May it be YOUR will, O LORD, that this day bring us a life of peace, a life of goodness, a life of blessing, a life of health, and a life of prosperity. We thank YOU, GREAT & MIGHTY GOD for by YOUR mercies and grace keep us ever grateful and grant us YOUR perfect rest. Amen!
DAY 19 of REPENTANCE Solomon asked for wisdom, and the SOVEREIGN ONE rewarded him with the most amazing level of understanding in human history. Among the many things Solomon came to understand was what was needed to keep on an exceptional relationship with GOD. "These six things ADONEY hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to HIM: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren." [Proverbs 6:16-19] LORD, show us where we are doing any of these things.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
If you have, hold on to it; if you know, be silent; if you can, do!

CUSTOMS — BRITH MILAH
"GOD further said to Abraham — As for you, you and your offspring to come throughout the ages shall keep MY covenant. Such shall be the covenant between ME and you and your offspring to follow which you shall keep: every male among you shall be circumcised. You shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin, and that shall be the sign of the covenant between ME and you. And throughout the generations, every male among you shall be circumcised at the age of eight days. As for the home born slave and the one bought from an outsider who is not of your offspring, they must be circumcised, home born and purchased alike. Thus shall MY covenant be marked in your flesh for an everlasting pact. And if any male who is uncircumcised fails to circumcise the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his kin; he has broken MY covenant." [Genesis (Bereshith) 17. 9 - 14 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Brith (bris or berith — means to bind, bond, obligation, cutting) Milah (Covenant of Circumcision) is the Abrahamic Covenant, which is the basis of Judaism and CHRISTianity, is the most marvelous document in existence. Every Jewish boy today, when eight days old, is circumcised according to the commandment. This practice, which is 4,000 years old, is still held in high esteem by all Jews.

"Brith Milah" is a great celebration which takes place in the home where relatives, friends, and neighbors have gathered. When the child is carried in for circumcision, he is greeted with the familiar Hebrew phrase: "Bruch haBah (Blessed is he that comes)." Attending the ceremony, according to custom, there is always the invisible guest, Elijah. The infant is placed upon Elijah's Chair just before the operation. This, the Jews believe, insures the child's health and promotes quick healing. At every circumcision, Elijah is supposed to be seated at the right hand of the "sandek (one who holds the infant during the operation)" — and the words "Zehu Kisei Eliyahu (this is the Chair of Elijah)" must be said in a loud voice.

The one who performs the operation of circumcision, called by the Hebrew term "Mohel" is so expert in this operation that no surgeon can compete with him in his performance or in the safeguarding of the life and health of the baby.

Part of the ceremony is naming the boy, which is done immediately after the circumcision. The Ashkenazic Jews usually name the child after some near relative who has passed away; whereas the Sephardic custom is to name the child in honour of a living relative. This is an old custom and is intended to keep family memories alive. When the boy is named after the circumcision, he enters into the Covenant (Brith) and becomes an inheritor of everything connected with it.

When the "CHILD born" and the "SON given" of Isaiah's prophecy [Isaiah/Yeshayah 9. 6] was eight days old, Miryam (Mary) observed this ceremony for HIM: "And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the CHILD, HIS NAME was called YESHUA (JESUS), the name given by the angel before HE was conceived in the womb." [Luke 2. 21]

YESHUA, being a Jew "according to the flesh" — was subjected to every law and commandment of GOD given to Israel in order to finish or fulfill the OLD COVENANT and establish the NEW. For circumcision of the flesh is a type and shadow of a greater experience of the heart. The operation of circumcision signifies the cutting off the old creation — the eighth day is the "morrow after the Sabbath" — the day of Resurrection, the day of the new creation!

OMNISCIENT HOLY GOD does not establish the fact of a person's Jewishness from the outward manifestation, but HE recognizes the TRUE JEW from the condition of the INNER MAN! HE commanded the Israelites: "Circumcise, therefore, the foreskin about your heartS, and stiffen your necks no more." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 10. 16 Tanakh, Torah]

When Nicodemus, a religious leader of the Jews, a Pharisee, came to MESSIAH YESHUA by night to inquire concerning the way to heaven, YESHUA answered, "You must be born again." [John 3. 7] The OLD COVENANT was sealed with circumcision of the flesh; the NEW COVENANT is sealed with the new birth or circumcision of the heart. Here, circumcision was inferred to be the mark of death upon the Adam life. With the natural man there is no power to love ALMIGHTY CREATOR GOD with all the heart, soul, and strength; but the LORD promised a spiritual birth which would make this possible: "Then the LORD your GOD will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, to love the LORD your GOD with all your heart and soul, in order that you may live." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 30. 6 Tanakh, Torah]

The new birth takes place when "with the heart man believe unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" [Romans 10. 10] — when an individual makes a turn-about-face to GOD MOST HIGH, to forsake his sins and accept the righteousness of GOD in YESHUA ha'MASHIACH. The heart is circumcised, the old law is cut away, and a new law takes its place. The ordinances rituals, ceremonies, sacrifices under the OLD COVENANT are fulfilled, finished, done away in the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL, the DELIVERER WHO has come out of Zion — JESUS OF NAZARETH, the SON OF THE LIVING GOD!

"And you are complete in HIM, WHO is the HEAD of all principality and power. In HIM you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of MESSIAH (CHRIST JESUS)." [Colossians 1. 10 - 11]

Oh, my Jewish people, do you pride yourself that you are a Jew and that you have obeyed the commandment of HOLY LORD GOD under the OLD COVENANT? Listen to the words of Jeremiah, your own Jewish prophet, who wrote by the inspiration of the SPIRIT OF GOD: "Lo, days are coming — declares the LORD — when I will punish all WHO ARE CIRCUMCISED with the UNCIRCUMCISED — Egypt, Judah, Edom, the people of Ammon, Moab, and all who are in the farthest corners, who dwell in the wilderness. For all these nations are UNCIRCUMCISED, and all the House of Israel are UNCIRCUMCISED OF HEART (their minds are blocked to GOD’S commandments)." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 9. 25 – 26 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

GOD OMNIPOTENT does not recognize circumcision of the flesh above the new birth. Jew and Gentile alike are commanded to obey "you must be born again." Jews and Gentiles need an operation to cut away the foreskin of their heart in order to enter into the KINGDOM OF GOD. It does not matter if one is born a natural Jew; he does not merit heaven by that fact; he is not even known as a TRUE Jew by GOD HIMSELF until his heart is changed, until he repents of his sins and accepts as his MESSIAH REDEEMER, the LORD JESUS CHRIST!

"For in CHRIST JESUS neither circumcision nor un-circumcision avails anything, but a new creation." [Galatians 6. 15] "For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from GOD." [Romans 2. 28 - 29]

Sha’alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Welcome Sabbath — Queen of the week! [Sabbath reading: Ki Tavo ‘When you come” – Deuteronomy 26:1-29:9; Isaiah 60:1-22; Matthew 4:13-24]
Joyously welcoming Sabbath Presence. “LORD we delight in YOUR Shabbat.”
May the LORD GOD enlighten us with HIS wisdom and sustain us with HIS power. For the TORAH, for the privilege of worship, for the prophets, and for this Sabbath Day, given us for sanctification and rest, for honor and for glory, let us thank and bless the LORD our GOD.
DAY 18 of REPENTANCE Too often joking can become sarcasm, which is hurtful, even offensive. We need to be aware of the lines between fun and being hurtful or insulting; and we need to be conscious of what we are allowing ourselves to be exposed to in our workplace, local community, television, theater, music, entertainment, etc. "But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of CHRIST and GOD. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of GOD comes upon the sons of disobedience." [Ephesians 5:3-6] May the LORD open our eyes that we may be obedient to confess and repent of the things in our lives about which we are not conscious of needing repentance.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Real friends are those who, when you've made a fool of yourself, don't feel that you've done a permanent job.

THE MERCY SEAT
"You shall make a Mercy Seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide." [Exodus (Shemot) 25. 17 Tanakh, Torah]

Kapporeth is the Hebrew word meaning "mercy seat." It literally was a lid covering the articles of judgment against the children of Israel and all mankind. GOD'S Law, which was kept inside the Ark, condemned man [Romans 3. 20; 8. 34] as did HIS truth and life symbolized in the manna and the rod. Man could not keep GOD'S LAW, believe HIS TRUTH, and appropriate HIS LIFE. Without a covering, the Ark of the Covenant would have been a "Judgment Throne."

The Mercy Seat was not to be made out of wood, which represents humanity; but was made of pure gold, symbolical of DIVINITY. Mercy is of GOD, not of man. Thankfully, the OMNIPOTENT COVENANT KEEPER made the WAY of redemption, a COVERING or PROPITIATION for sin. Therefore, it is pure gold entirely. Only the MIGHTY CREATOR could fashion such a PROTECTION; and HE planned it before the very foundation of the earth. It is DIVINE all the way through!

The measurements of the Mercy Seat in width and length corresponds exactly with the Ark of the Covenant so it completely covered the contents of the Ark. The MASTER DESIGNER'S mercy is sufficient (because of the blood atonement) to cover over His JUDGMENT against us.

MESSIAH YESHUA is our "MERCY SEAT" for "if anyone sins, we have an ADVOCATE with the FATHER, JESUS CHRIST THE RIGHTEOUS. And HE HIMSELF is the PROPITIATION for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world." [1 John 2. 1 - 2]

We must understand that BIBLE "types or symbols" themselves are not perfect in every detail; only that which the type or symbol represents, is Perfect. Typology shows similarities or contrasts as well as different phases and aspects of the subject considered. The MERCY SEAT is MESSIAH YESHUA, and yet it is also GOD'S Throne upon which MESSIAH sets. The blood on the Mercy Seat is the requirement for atonement and yet it represents the INNOCENT SLAIN LAMB WHO stood alive in the midst of the Throne in Heaven!

Therefore, YESHUA ha'MASHIACH HIMSELF, with HIS atoning blood, is our Mercy Seat, where we can meet with GOD ALMIGHTY. Thus, the golden, blood-stained Mercy Seat becomes the very Throne of GOD, where HE meets with those who believe on HIM for salvation. "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." [Hebrews 4. 16]

It is a great privilege, honor and the blessing that our remarkable LORD GOD SUPREME has given those who have been redeemed by the precious blood of the GUILTLESS LAMB, to come into the Throne Room, the Holiest Place where we can commune with HIM at the Mercy Seat. Oh what a ASTOUNDING, ASTONISHING & WONDERFUL SAVIOR HE is!

Sha’alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Open your hearts in song as the sunset swells into a rhythm of changing colors. O taste and see that the LORD is good to those who trust in HIM and wait for HIM; to the one who seeks HIM with all their heart, HE will be found by them.
Our beloved and delightful brethren, our joy and crown, we encourage you to stand firm, persevere in service to the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA, HE will make it worth it all in HIS perfect time. We are reminded that justice is our duty and a better world our goal. Draw me nearer to YOUR precious side, dear LORD, I long to be with YOU.
DAY 17 of REPENTANCE When someone you trusted does something that hurts you, it may cause confusion, sadness, anger or bitterness. We must understand the frailty of our brethren and trust the LORD GOD; we must avoid gossip (Hebrew: lashon hara- speaking truth about someone in a hurtful, derogatory way; it is the worst kind of gossip), speaking unkindly of others. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as GOD in CHRIST forgave you." [Ephesians 4:31-32] "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The Light of GOD outshines the darkness of our circumstances. Though we continue to face various storms in life, the FAITHFUL ONE will see us through them.

FINAL REDEMPTION
"For a CHILD has been born to us, a SON has been given to us; and authority has settled on HIS shoulders. HE has been named WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR, the MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 9. 6 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

The TANAKH (OLD COVENANT) tells that the hopes of Israel are centered on two great events — the coming of GOD'S Kingdom and the coming of the MAN, WHO would bring this Kingdom to pass. According to the TALMUD (a JEWISH COMMENTARY), Jews expected two MESSIAHS: MESSIAH ben'Yosef and MESSIAH ben'David. The Name of the MESSIAH was formed before the creation of the world: "Seven things were formed before the creation of the world — The Law, Repentance, Paradise, Sheol, the Throne of Glory, the Temple, and the NAME of the MESSIAH." [TALMUD, P'Sachim, fol. 54, col. 1]

This MAN would please ALMIGHTY GOD and would bring HIS people to rest and deliverance from their enemies. Thirty six prophets made predictions concerning the coming MESSIAH either about HIS birth, HIS SPIRIT, HIS miracles, HIS relationship with other peoples, HIS death, HIS resurrection, or about some other phase of HIS Life. This MAN, WHO fulfills the visions and hopes of the Prophets and the Psalmist is MESSIAH, JESUS OF NAZARETH (MESSIAH means ANOINTED ONE). The LORD YESHUA comes from the line of David, the line of Abraham, the line of Isaac, and the line of Jacob. It was prophesied that the MESSIAH would come from:

The Human Family of Adam — "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her SEED; HE shall crush your head, and you will strike at HIS Heel." [Genesis (Bereshith) 3. 15 Tanakh, Torah]

The Race in the Line of Shem — "Blessed be the LORD, ELOHEY of Shem; let Canaan be a slave to them." [Genesis (Bereshith) 9. 25 Tanakh, Torah; 9:25–27 in other versions.]

The Patriarch Line of Abraham — "Abraham shall surely become a great, populous and mighty nation and all the nations of the earth are to be blessed in him." [Genesis (Bereshith) 18. 18 Tanakh, Torah]

The True Heir in the Lineage of Isaac — "I will bestow MY blessing upon you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars of heaven and the sands on the seashore; and your descendants shall seize the gates of their foes. All the nations of the earth shall bless themselves by your descendants, because you have obeyed MY command." [Genesis (Bereshith) 22. 18 - 19 Tanakh, Torah]

The National Line of Jacob — "I am the LORD, the GOD of your father Abraham and the GOD of Isaac, the ground on which you are lying I will assign to you and to your offspring. Your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All the families of the earth shall bless themselves by you and your descendants." [Genesis (Bereshith) 28. 13 - 14 Tanakh, Torah]

The Tribal Lineage of Judah — "The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a ruler's staff from between his feet, until SHILOH (MESSIAH YESHUA —Shiloh means "Peace & Security" which will be realized to the fullest when HE WHO is the EXACT IMAGE OF GOD) comes and tribute is to HIM; and the obedience of the people shall be HIS." [Genesis (Bereshith) 49. 10 Tanakh, Torah]

The Kingly Line of David — "The LORD swore to David a firm oath that HE will not renounce — One of your own issue I will set upon your throne." [Psalms (Tehillym) 132. 11 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Many Jews, upon first arriving in the Promised Holy Land, go to the Western Wall (the Kotel) to pray and lament. They have yearned for the coming of ONE WHO would deliver them from their countless enemies and set up HIS EVERLASTING KINGDOM; only to be disappointed throughout the years, for false prophets have laid claim to the title of "THE ANOINTED ONE."

However, in searching HOLY SCRIPTURE, there can be no doubt as to WHOM MESSIAH is! From studying the GOSPELS we see that the HEBREW SCRIPTURES are often quoted by the PIERCED ONE describing HIMSELF in every detail! "And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, HE expounded to them in all the SCRIPTURES the things concerning HIMSELF." [Luke 24. 27] "Then HE said to them — These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the TORAH (LAW OF MOSES) and the Nevi'im (PROPHETS) and the Kethuvim (PSALMS/WRITINGS) concerning ME." [Luke 24. 44]

If only a person would honestly look into HIS wonderfully amazing "LOVE LETTER (THE HOLY BIBLE)" the HOLY ONE wrote and preserved in writing for us, they would find the riches in the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA for their own lives and understand our GREAT, PRECIOUS & LOVELY REDEEMING LORD GOD OF HEAVEN personally.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Our souls thirst for YOU, O FATHER GOD, as the hart after the refreshing water brook. When we would escape from the storms of earthly life, where can we find refuge but in YOU? As one week swiftly follows week and man gives no heed, so pass the years away, and the end of our works draws near. Help us so to live that our souls may look upon these transient scenes with calmness and contentment, assured that at last we shall rest in the light of YOUR countenance and rejoice in YOUR goodness forever. Truly, freedom of the soul comes through obedience to YOUR commandments.
DAY 16 of REPENTANCE To the Ephesians, Paul wrote a letter primarily about the drastic change that comes upon us when we trust in CHRIST JESUS; the constant battle that rages against us and what we must do to walk victoriously. Paul relates the types of behavior that should no longer have a hold on us. "This I say and testify in the LORD, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of GOD, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness." [Ephesians 4:17-19]
Embracing unrepentance in your heart and resisting HIS command will cause you to be alienated from the life of GOD.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Pressures in life will either draw us closer to GOD or push us further away from HIM.

DYING TO LIVE
"For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for MY sake and the Gospel's will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" [Mark 8. 35 – 36a]

The principle law expressed in this verse is of utmost importance, for it is frequently found in various ways probably more often than any other single principle in the NEW COVENANT. A few of the confirming facts referring to this statement are specific messages from the LORD YESHUA ha’MASHIACH are so stated —
"Whoever does not take his cross and follow after ME is not worthy of ME. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for MY sake will find it." [Matthew 10. 38 – 39]
"For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for MY sake will find it…Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" [Matthew 16. 25 – 26,b]
"For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for MY sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?" [Luke 9. 24 – 25]
"Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it." [Luke 17. 33]
"He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life… If anyone serves ME, him MY FATHER will honor." [John 12. 25 – 26c]

This extraordinary divine contradiction in terms — "that to die means to live" — is expressed in numerous and diverse ways throughout the epistles. Paul, in some of his greatest works lovingly and affectionately urges fellow believers by teaching them, "I have been crucified with CHRIST; it is no longer I who live, but CHRIST lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the SON OF GOD, WHO loved me and gave HIMSELF for me." [Galatians 2. 20]
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of GOD, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to GOD, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of GOD." [Romans 12. 1 - 2]
"For the love of CHRIST compels us, because we judge thus: that if ONE died for all, then all died; and HE died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for HIM WHO died for them and rose again." [2 Corinthians 5. 14 - 15] Paul added that he and other workers commended themselves as ministers of GOD — "as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things." [2 Corinthians 6. 9 - 10]
"For to me, to live is CHRIST, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with CHRIST, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you." [Philippians 1. 21 - 24]
"This is a faithful saying: For if we died with HIM, we shall also live with HIM. If we endure, we shall also reign with HIM. If we deny HIM, HE also will deny us. If we are faithless, HE remains faithful; HE cannot deny HIMSELF." [2 Timothy 2. 11 - 13]

The LORD MESSIAH YESHUA did not say to lose one’s life for a certain experience, but for "MY sake and the Gospel’s!" The BELOVED wants us to live in simple obedience to HIS perfect will as recorded in HIS GREATLY-VALUED HOLY WRITTEN WORD, proclaiming in all we say and do that HE is CREATOR, SAVIOR, MASTER DESIGNER, the LOVER of our soul, and the soon-coming, longed for KING. When you have found this GLORIOUS REDEEMER, you have found THE ONE WHO is worth, both living for and dying for. Blessed be HE!

Sha’alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
Remember your commitment to obey GOD in holiness and integrity of life. We are overwhelmingly grateful for the goodness and grace of GOD to us, truly HIS mercies endure forever. Now, go forth and proclaim the GOOD NEWS as the BELOVED ONE commissioned while it is still day.
In YOUR mercy, O LORD, remember us and all YOUR children as we enter a new week.
DAY 14 of REPENTANCE As Paul continues to minister to the believers in Corinth, he expresses concern that they continue to suffer because of their lack of repentance. This is not just Paul’s personal peculiarity; he knows that unrepentance brings consequences. . . unrepentance reaps very bitter fruit.
"For I fear lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I wish, and I shall be found by you such as you do not wish; lest there be contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, backbitings, whisperings, conceits, turmoils; lest, when I come again, my GOD will humble me among you, and I shall mourn for many who have sinned before and have not repented of the uncleanness, fornication, and lewdness which they have practiced." [2 Corinthians 12:20-21]
We must always be on guard against weaknesses of the flesh. Our human nature may want to indulge these sinful behaviors, and our culture tells us it is normal and there is no need to repent...if it feels good, do it! As for me however, "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a faithful spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
You can't make ten when there isn't one to start with.

CUSTOMS — BURIAL & MOURNING (Conclusion)
The prophets of the OLD COVENANT (TANAKH) SCRIPTURES knew that ultimately there would be an end to the grave and that there would be a bodily resurrection of the dead. They looked forward to the coming of the MESSIAH WHO would, by HIS vicarious death, provide the means of redemption from sin and death for those who will believe. Those who accept GOD'S FREE GIFT, are freed from eternal death and will participate with resurrection bodies in the glorious MESSIANIC REIGN which will yet be seen on this earth. This era will be inaugurated at MESSIAH'S second coming in power and glory. OMNIPOTENT GOD'S ultimate purpose of a world of perfect beings in fellowship with HIMSELF forever, will then be fulfilled!

How may we receive the gift of eternal life with GOD? We read: "For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON, that whoever believes in HIM should not perish but have everlasting life." [John 3. 16] "He who believes in HIM is not condemned." [John 3. 18] "And this is the will of HIM who sent ME, that everyone who sees the SON and believes in HIM may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day." [John 6. 40]

Daniel, the Jewish prophet, spoke of this resurrection day — "Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth WILL AWAKE, some to eternal life, others to shame and reproach, to everlasting contempt and abhorrence. Those who are wise will be radiant like the brightness of the firmament, and those who lead the many to righteousness will be like the stars forever and ever." [Daniel (Danyel) 12. 2 – 3 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

How important it is that we experience the resurrection to everlasting life, and that we not be among those awakening to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who refuse MOST HOLY GOD'S FREE GIFT of eternal life with HIM, made possible in YESHUA ha'MASHIACH, have nothing to look forward to but the ultimate resurrection to eternal separation from ALMIGHTY GOD, which is also called hell. Why anyone would choose this, is difficult to understand.

The LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH took death and neutralized it, made it devoid of its power so that now it is unable to hurt those who believe in HIM. HIS death on the Altar of Calvary was the death of Death! YESHUA, the ANOINTED REDEEMER died that we might live; because HE died, we will never die! The LORD JESUS said at the tomb of Lazarus: "I am the RESURRECTION and the LIFE. Whoever believes in ME, though he may die (before HIS return), he shall live. And whoever lives (at the time of HIS return) and BELIEVES IN ME shall never die." [John 11. 25 - 26] "Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the DEAD will hear the voice of the SON OF GOD; and those who hear will live. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are IN THE GRAVES will hear HIS voice and come forth — those who have done good, to the RESURRECTION of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation." [John 5. 25, 28 - 29] Even the death of the saints is precious to the LORD OF GLORY; and because HE lives, death is swallowed up in victory!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!
O LORD, YOU are my GOD; I exalt and praise YOU, I will praise YOUR NAME, for YOU planned graciousness of old, counsels of steadfast faithfulness and truth. I will bless and praise YOU evermore.
DAY 13 of REPENTANCE In the process of describing us as being the Body of MESSIAH, Paul goes to great extents to emphasize, not only the diverse parts and functions, but also the unity of the Body. For a body to function properly, it needs to be strong and healthy, and must all be together and of one mind. "There should be no schism (rifts, divisions) in the body, but the members should have the same care for one another." [1 Corinthians 12:25]
When we have some beliefs and understandings that differ from our brethren, but we cannot allow these things to separate us. We must go to the LORD to see what HE says on these matters. "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a steadfast spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.
