The ex-wife of jihadist Hakim Benladghem has been sentenced to just 150 hours of community service after being arrested for “possession of weapons in a terrorist context”.
The Belgian authorities convicted the former wife of Hakim Benladghem, named Laila, in early October in relation to a weapons cache that was found in the former couples’ home in March 2013 that included an AR-15 style rifle and an MP5 submachine gun, L’Est Republicain reports.
The weapons were found shortly after the death of Benladghem, who was killed by Belgian special forces who attempted to arrest him on the A8 motorway on the 23rd of March, 2013.

Teen sentenced to life for killing sister over Wi-Fi password
August 7, 2019 by Jerry McCormick
To deny the trigger point for today’s kids has been dramatically moved in the wrong direction would be like denying we need air to live.
Look no further than the case of Kevon Watkins, 18, who killed his older sister over a Wi-Fi access code.
He Choked Her to Death
There are crimes of passion that often leave us scratching our heads. While still not excusable, you can sometimes understand how these situations escalate.
This murder, though, it makes you wonder the direction to which this country is headed.
According to reports, Watkins had changed the password to the Wi-Fi so nobody else would be on the internet when he was playing video games.
Apparently, he did this because he did not want the speed of his connection to suffer. His mother confronted Watkins about it, and an argument ensued.
His older sister, Alexus, later confronted Watkins about the argument with their mother, and Watkins put his sister into a chokehold.
In the ten minutes he kept his sister in the chokehold, his 13-year-old little brother was trying to stop him, but he obviously failed. When Watkins finally let go, his sister was dead.
No Mercy
The judge in the case, Superior Court Judge Verda Covin, had no place for leniency in the decision. She not only laid into Watkins, but she was also very critical of the environment in the home.
The judge stated, “In this household, chaos was empowered. In this household, the ability to ignore and follow corrective discipline was empowered.”
Watkins was sentenced to life for the murder.
The mother, however, will have to live out the rest of her days knowing the lack of discipline in the house is the reason her daughter is no longer alive.

Shamima Begum, the Bethnal Green schoolgirl, served in the Islamic State’s “morality police” and also tried to recruit other young women to join the jihadist group, well-placed sources have told The Telegraph.
She was allowed to carry a Kalashnikov rifle and earned a reputation as a strict “enforcer” of Isil’s laws, such as dress codes for women, sources claimed.
The claims are at odds with Miss Begum’s own account of her four years with the group, which she joined at the age of just 15.

Riedijk married Begum in Syria in 2015 when she was just 15, days after she ran away from her family home in East London.
The couple had three children who all died, the most recent of which was three-week-old Jerrah - named after a 'jihadi warlord'.
Begum pleaded with the British Government last month to be allowed to return to the UK after fleeing to Syria in 2015 to join ISIS.
She said she deserved sympathy and should be given a second chance.
Riedijk spoke about his love for his wife in an interview with The Times yesterday.
He said: 'We got very close very quickly. The perfect wife. She was so young and innocent'.

Shamima Begum's baby is believed to have died, says her family's lawyer

British ISIS bride Shamima Begum's baby son has died in Syria, her family's lawyer claims.
Mohammed Tasmin Akunjee wrote on Twitter: 'We have strong but as yet unconfirmed reports that Shamima Begums son has died. He was a British Citizen.'
Last week it was reported that Begum and her son Jerah, named after a 7th century Islamic warlord, had been moved from the refugee camp where he was born, after they were 'threatened'.
Akunjee wrote on Twitter: 'We have strong but as yet unconfirmed reports that Shamima Begums son has died. He was a British Citizen'
The teenager and her infant son were moved from the Al-Hol camp in the north of the country due to 'safety concerns around her and her baby', Mr Akunjee said.
Ms Begum, who fled from Bethnal Green in east London to join Islamic State as a 15-year-old, recently said she regretted speaking to the media.
The 19-year-old, who gave birth days after her discovery by a journalist was first reported, said she wished she had kept a low profile.
The Sun reported that Ms Begum, who wants to return to the UK but has been stripped of her British citizenship, had received death threats since speaking out about her plight.
The mother and her baby are said to have since been moved to another camp nearer to the Iraqi border.
Mr Akunjee told the paper: 'I can confirm that it is our understanding that Shamima has been moved from Al-Hol due to safety concerns around her and her baby.
'We further understand that indeed she and her child had been threatened by others at the Al-Hol camp.'
The development comes after British officials ruled out any effort inside Syria to extract Ms Begum and her child.
Home Secretary Sajid Javid stripped her of her British citizenship in an effort to block her return.
Ms Begum's family have pleaded for the mother and her child to be allowed to come back to Britain.
They say the teenager should face justice if she is found to have broken the law by travelling to Syria.

Father of British ISIS teen says ‘Revoke her citizenship!’
Father’s comments contrast with other family members who ask the British Home Office for help so that Shamima’s newborn child can be raised in safety.
By World Israel News staff
The father of Shamima Begum has told The Mail on Sunday that he backs Home Secretary Sajid Javid’s decision to strip his daughter of her British citizenship.
Speaking to the media for the first time, Ahmed Ali, 60, said: ‘I know they [the British Government] don’t want to take her back, and in this, I don’t have a problem. I know she is stuck there [in Syria] but that’s because she has done actions that made her get stuck like this.”
Ali’s comments are in stark contrast to the pleas of Begum’s British-based relatives who want her to be allowed to return to the U.K.
“I am on the side of the Government,” he said. “I can’t say whether it is right or wrong, but if the law of the land says that it is correct to cancel her citizenship, then I agree.”
Her family in the U.K. wrote to the home secretary, asking for his help to bring Shamima’s newborn son to Britain.
Writing on behalf of the family, her sister Renu Begum said the baby boy was a “true innocent” who should not “lose the privilege of being raised in the safety of this country.”
The family said they have had no contact with Shamima and had only learned that she had given birth to a boy through media reports. They say that they were “shocked and appalled” at the “vile comments” that Shamima had recently made to the media.
Shamima was 15-years-old when she left east London in 2015 with two other schoolgirls on a flight from London to Turkey to join ISIS in Syria. In a recent interview, during her ninth month of pregnancy, she said that she had no regrets, but revealed that she wants to return home to the U.K. for the sake of the baby, fearing it could die in the camp where she has been living. Her two previous children have already died.
She gave birth to her new baby boy last Sunday. Despite her pleas to be allowed back to the U.K., she has drawn outrage by failing to apologize for joining the terror group and arguing that the 2017 bombing of the Manchester Arena by an Islamic extremist was justified.
In an earlier ITV interview, Security Minister Ben Wallace said that he could not “comment on this case exactly for legal reasons, [but] fundamentally it depends on her status as [a] British citizen, whether or not she has a passport,” adding that “if she is a British citizen, she has rights.”
