Wow

somewhat speachless what to say Exclamation
but will include what I have known of you here and previous in MSN and in chat rooms.I am sure you will not mind me making mention.
So beautiful for your children to make the effort to nominate you... but end of day the aplause of men is not our reward but the grateful hearts make the difference I am sure you agree.
Many of the younger unfortunately have not been blessed with a Mum to be appreciated I thought on this today when you Venus, who I know a little of who did not have such a great Mum(from posts in other places)... my heart and prayers went out to you and others such as.
Your post did not express the hurt or longing experienced in the Mothers day post: so expressed the person you are and is such a great asset to our Forum, your wealth of experiences
love and care to family is a tribute to with the trials and how you have made steps in those right directions to not let the past hinder the beautiful lady you are becoming and the Mom to the kids.
May we as elders here be "Mothers in Jerusalem" as the scriptures teach us, to be a help and encouragement to them who have been without. Whether those who come here are Christian or just in need of love may our God help us to show we are here for them and online Mothers as it were.
Blessings

What a lovely surprise... Empty What a lovely surprise...

Post  Venus Mon 23 Mar 2009, 1:52 pm

I got a call this morning from the local paper saying my boys had nominated me in the 'Mum of the Year' competition....

But their email went in too late (lol) The comp ended on Wednesday and they received the nomination AFTER the winners had been chosen.

But, the editor said to me 'if we'd received this email a few days previously, you'd have taken top prize!' Shocked

Anyway, the boys had written on the bottom something to the effect of 'mum is housebound so she wouldn't have been able to accept top prize (which is a break in a hotel, wine, chocolates etc) but we would like to have a family portrait done, something we've never had because of her being housebound'

So the editor says, they'd like to do this article on my family and present us with flowers and have a professional photographer come in and do the portrait for us!! Very Happy

I'm stunned. Honestly. I had no idea they'd done this. I still dunno what they wrote in the email lmao...but according to the editor, it was beautiful stuff.

Hows that for the start of the week? Am so proud of my two, I could burst ♥️

Venus
