The Message
I'm Alive! - ROBOT
I posted this message September 2008 when we had MSN Group. In past conversations with my daughter she had encouraged me to post up that which I had saved as all messages worth repeating. I was wandering through my folder wondering what to post today and decided for this. When clicking the link of music from PreciousLordTakeMyHand please scroll to the bottom left hand of the page for the music, they have changed the page since I used the site for this post and I didn't feel to leave out any of these devotional songs. Blessings Elaine.

The Message.....I'm Alive
As this week was drawing to a close a few times I sent up what
I call a flare prayer to God-- "I wonder what I am to base
the message on this coming Sunday".
God sure has a sense of humour and as you read
what I have to say further on, you will understand why I say this,--
we only have to read through the bible
to find when He came as man, we see his humerous side,
through many of the parables and teachings of Jesus, let your
mind wander for example to when he was telling about taking a plank out of
your own eye, before trying to remove a splinter in anothers when
judging someone.
Ecclesiastes 3:4 says there is "a time to weep and a time to laugh"
Although it does not mean that all humour is good,
the expression must have it's root in God's nature.
Then take your mind to
The Lost Coin
Luke 15:8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she
lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and
seek diligently till she find it? 9 And when she hath found it, she
calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice
with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. 10 Likewise, I
say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over
one sinner that repenteth.

How many times have you lost something? and searched frantically
even calling others in the house, have you seen my keys, purse, wallet,
whatever and asking for their help to search.
At the time of Jesus, very little cash was used. Ordinary people
had no credit. Therefore, ten coins represented a lot of buying
power. In this parable, the main character is a woman, helping
women Jesus spoke to men, women, and children alike. (He
welcomed the children when His grumpy disciples tried to shoo
them away.) This is another of the beauties of our Saviour who is
no respector of persons.

Make no mistake though, Jesus' parables may have been
humorous at times, but they were intended more to provoke than
to entertain.

Friday I had been in the chat room and took myself off to bed at
about 1am reading my bible. I woke very early having about 5
hours sleep when into my head popped "Johnny 5"
For those of you who probably have little idea of what I am talking about,
it is a Comedy Film "Short Circuit" and a Robot.
A little about it here- -
In 1986 Newton Crosby, Ph.D. (Steve Guttenberg), is more
interested in peaceful uses of their artificial intelligence, while
others had a different idea for "Johhny 5 " the ultimate
After a lightning storm shuts down the presentation of the
prototypes, a power surge hits Number 5 while it is recharging and
alters its program, causing a malfunction.... it wanders off, unable to
communicate and not knowing where it is, ends up at the home of
animal-lover who initially thinks it's an extraterrestrial visitor
Number 5 develops an understanding about the value of life and,
realizing that he himself is sentient, develops a fear of his
militaristic programming and the disassembly that awaits him
back at Nova, believing it to be the same as death for him.

Short Circuit 2

What I find so amazing with God is that not only does His Holy
spirit quicken us and revelation is given as we read the bible but in
our day to day lives when we spend time in His presence we see
what was written 2,000 years or even longer, how it pertains to our
life today.
We read of Paul speaking in Romans 1: 8 First, I thank my God
through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being
proclaimed throughout the whole world.
It may be laughable to picture: Jesus on television holding a
mustard seed in his hand saying,Your faith is like this mustard
But it would be hard to argue that using the Internet, television
and films wouldn't be as effective in ministering the word of God
through any of these media, this is not to say this is the only way
but for those who have these material benefits, we must remember
Jesus' message and purpose was most often used to those without and
liberation to the captive.
When we lose an item, we stop everything and even enlist our
friends and family to help us. In this parable, the woman lights a
candle and cleans the entire house to find that coin. Lighting a
candle would have been an extra expense. When the coin is found,
she rejoices with her friends and family. It is not just her
happiness, but the happiness of the entire family and neighborhood.

God's Judgment Defended
Justification by Faith, Not by the Law
1What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of
circumcision? 2Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were
committed the oracles of God. 3For what if some did not believe?
Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect?
4Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is
"That You may be justified in Your words,
And may overcome when You are judged."

We have a wonderful revelation of God and His love in Chapter 4 of
Romans The Example of Abraham and if you turn to James 2 we
have a word from God which we need to take onboard the reading,
taking a few portions verse 14 What doth it profit, my brethren,
though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith
save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily
food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye
warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things
which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so
faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had
offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith
wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God,
and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called
the Friend of God.

What has this to do with Johnny 5 The Robot? Throughout the film
the robot proclaimed I am alive! and has a heart
We were once dead in our trespass and sins, there was a short

The one lost coin is precious. So is the one lost person. The angels
in heaven rejoice whenever a person is found by Jesus.

May we proclaim The Good News as disciples and may we also be
living testimony to those around us that we have not faith only.
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is
dead also.
Being tried: and come through "as gold",- -
May we receive well done good and faithful servant when we receive

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty.”
Isaiah 6:3

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Who was, and is, and evermore shall be.

Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy Name, in earth, and sky, and sea;
Holy, holy, holy; merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

A Confession of National Wickedness

1 Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save;
neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2but your iniquities have separated between you and your God,
and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3For your hands are defiled
with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken
lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
4None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak
lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
5They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of
their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
6Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they
cover themselves with their works: their works are works of
iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.
7Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood:
their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
8The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in
their goings: they have made them crooked paths; whosoever
goeth therein shall not know peace.
9Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake
us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we
walk in darkness.
10We grope for the wall like the blind, and we
grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night;
we are in desolate places as dead men.
11We roar all like bears,
and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is
none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
12For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify
against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our
iniquities, we know them;
13in transgressing and lying against the
LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and
revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
14And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth
afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
15Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh
himself a prey.
And the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no
16And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there
was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him;
and his righteousness, it sustained him.
17For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his
head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and
was clad with zeal as a cloak.
18According to their deeds,
accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompense to
his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompense.
19So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from
the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood,
the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.

The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.

When we've been here ten thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see

Genesis 17
Circumcision the Sign of the Covenant

1And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD
appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk
before me, and be thou perfect.
2And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
3And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
4As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of
many nations.
5Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram,
but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I
made thee.
6And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will
make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
7And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after
thee in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be a God
unto thee and to thy seed after thee.
8And I will give unto thee,
and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all
the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be
their God.
9And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant
therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

Lord, the light of your love is shining
In the midst of the darkness, shining
Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us
Set us free by the truth you now bring us
Shine on me, shine on me
Shine, Jesus, shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze, Spirit, blaze
Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth your word
Lord, and let there be light
Lord, I come to your awesome presence
From the shadows into your radiance
By the blood I may enter your brightness
Search me, try me, consume all my darkness
Shine on me, shine on me
As we gaze on your kingly brightness
So our faces display your likeness
Ever changing from glory to glory
Mirrored here may our lives tell your story
Shine on me, shine on me

I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord

Psalm 137:5-6
If I forget you, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget its skill!
If I do not remember you, Let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth--
If I do not exalt Jerusalem Above my chief joy.

Words: Timothy Dwight, Psalms of David, 1800.
Music: “St. Thomas (Williams),” Aaron Williams,
The New Universal Psalmodist, 1770.

I love Thy kingdom, Lord,
The house of Thine abode,
The church our blessed Redeemer saved
With His own precious blood.

I love Thy church, O God.
Her walls before Thee stand,
Dear as the apple of Thine eye,
And written on Thy hand.

If e’er to bless Thy sons
My voice or hands deny,
These hands let useful skills forsake,
This voice in silence die.

Should I with scoffers join
Her altars to abuse?
No! Better far my tongue were dumb,
My hand its skill should lose.

For her my tears shall fall
For her my prayers ascend,
To her my cares and toils be given
Till toils and cares shall end.

Beyond my highest joy
I prize her heavenly ways,
Her sweet communion, solemn vows,
Her hymns of love and praise.

Jesus, Thou Friend divine,
Our Savior and our King,
Thy hand from every snare and foe
Shall great deliverance bring.

Sure as Thy truth shall last,
To Zion shall be given
The brightest glories earth can yield
And brighter bliss of Heaven.

People Need The Lord
Words and Music by Phill McHung and Greg Nelson
©️1987, Shepherd's Ford Music

Everyday they pass me by, I can see it in their eyes.
Empty people filled with care, headed who knows where.
On they go through private pain, living fear to fear,
Laughter hides their silent cries, only Jesus hears.

People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
At the end of broken dreams, He's the open door.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
When will we realize...people need the Lord?

We are called to take His light to a world where wrong seems right.
What would be too great a cost for sharing life with one who's lost.
Thorough His love our hearts can feel all the grief they bear.
They must hear the words of life only we can share.

That we must give our lives for
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.

Romans 4:1-18

1What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to
the flesh, hath found?
2For if Abraham were justified by works, he
hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
3For what saith the
scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for
4Now to him that worketh is the reward not
reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5But to him that worketh not, but
believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for
6Even as David also describeth the blessedness of
the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
Blessed are they whose iniquities are fogiven, and whose sins
are covered.
8Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
9Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or
upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned
to Abraham for righteousness.
10How was it then reckoned? when
he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision,
but in uncircumcision.
11And he received the sign of circumcision,
a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being
uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe,
though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be
imputed unto them also:
12and the father of circumcision to them
who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the
steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet

The Promise Realized through Faith

13For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not
to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the
righteousness of faith.
14For if they which are of the law be heirs,
faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
15because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no
16Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the
promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of
the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is
the father of us all,
17(as it is written, I have made thee a father of
many nations, ) before him whom he believed, even God, who
quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as
though they were:
18who against hope believed in hope, that he
might become the father of many nations, according to that which
was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Psalm 95
A Song of Praise and Worship

1O come, let us sing unto the LORD:
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

2Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving,
and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

3For the LORD is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.

4In his hand are the deep places of the earth:
the strength of the hills is his also.

5The sea is his, and he made it:
and his hands formed the dry land.

6O come, let us worship and bow down:
let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

7For he is our God;
and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.

Today if ye will hear his voice,

8harden not your heart, as in the provocation,
and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

9when your fathers tempted me,
proved me, and saw my work.

10Forty years long was I grieved with this generation,
and said, It is a people that do err in their heart,
and they have not known my ways:

11unto whom I sware in my wrath
that they should not enter into my rest.

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Heart of Worship
Matt Redman
Key: D

When the music fades and all is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring something that's of worth
That will bless Your heart

I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You
All about You, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the things I've made it
When it's all about You
All about You, Jesus

King of endless worth, no one could express
How much You deserve
Though I'm weak and poor, all I have is Yours
Every single breath

Come, Christians, Join To Sing

Psalm 95:1 Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Words: Christian H. Bateman, Sacred Melodies for Children (Edinburgh, Scotland: 1843).
Music: “Madrid (Evans),” traditional Spanish melody; arranged by David Evans, 1927.

Come, Christians, join to sing
Alleluia! Amen!
Loud praise to Christ our King;
Alleluia! Amen!
Let all, with heart and voice,
Before His throne rejoice;
Praise is His gracious choice.
Alleluia! Amen!

Come, lift your hearts on high,
Alleluia! Amen!
Let praises fill the sky;
Alleluia! Amen!
He is our Guide and Friend;
To us He’ll condescend;
His love shall never end.
Alleluia! Amen!

Praise yet our Christ again,
Alleluia! Amen!
Life shall not end the strain;
Alleluia! Amen!
On heaven’s blissful shore,
His goodness we’ll adore,
Singing forevermore,
“Alleluia! Amen!”

God's Righteous Judgment
The Fairness of God's Judgment

Romans 2:1-29
1Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who
judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for
you who judge practice the same things.
2But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice
such things.
3And do you think this, O man, you who judge those
practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape
the judgment of God?
4Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the
goodness of God leads you to repentance?
5But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring
up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the
righteous judgment of God
6who "will render to each one according to his deeds"
7eternal life to those who by patient
continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;
8but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but
obey unrighteousnessindignation and wrath,
9tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and
also of the Greek;
10but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who
works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
11For there is no partiality with God.
12For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without
law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the
13(for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God,
but the doers of the law will be justified;
14for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these,
although not having the law, are a law to themselves,
15who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also
bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing
or else excusing them)
16in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
The Jews Guilty as the Gentiles
17Indeed you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and make your
boast in God,
18and know His will, and approve the things that are
excellent, being instructed out of the law,
19and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in
20an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having
the form of knowledge and truth in the law.
21You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a
man should not steal, do you steal?
22You who say, "Do not commit adultery," do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols,
do you rob temples?
23You who make your boast in the law, do
you dishonor God through breaking the law?
24For "the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you," as it is

Circumcision of No Avail

25For circumcision is indeed profitable if you keep the law; but if
you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision has become
26Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the
righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be
counted as circumcision?
27And will not the physically
uncircumcised, if he fulfills the law, judge you who, even with your
written code and circumcision, are a transgressor of the law?
28For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision
that which is outward in the flesh;
29but he is a Jew who is one
inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in
the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.

The Parable of the Lost Son

11And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12and the younger of them said to his father,
Father, give me the portion of goods that
falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
13And not many
days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his
journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with
riotous living.
14And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty
famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15And he went
and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into
his fields to feed swine.
16And he would fain have filled his belly
with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants
of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with
18I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him,
Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19and am
no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired
20And he arose, and came to his father. But when he
was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion,
and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21And the son said
unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight,
and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22But the father said
to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put
a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23and bring hither the
fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24for this my
son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And
they began to be merry.
25Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew
nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing.
26And he called
one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
27And he
said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the
fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out,
and entreated him.
29And he answering said to his father, Lo,
these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any
time thy commandment; and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I
might make merry with my friends:
30but as soon as this thy son
was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast
killed for him the fatted calf.
31And he said unto him, Son, thou art
ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
32It was meet that we
should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and
is alive again; and was lost, and is found

A New Name In Glory
Revelation 2:17
"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat.
And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written
which no one knows except him who receives it."'

Words & Music: C. Austin Miles, circa 1905.

I was once a sinner, but I came
Pardon to receive from my Lord:
This was freely given, and I found
That He always kept His word.

There’s a new name written down in glory,
And it’s mine, O yes, it’s mine!
And the white robed angels sing the story,
“A sinner has come home.”
For there’s a new name written down in glory,
And it’s mine, O yes, it’s mine!
With my sins forgiven I am bound for Heaven,
Never more to roam.

I was humbly kneeling at the cross,
Fearing naught by God’s angry frown;
When the heavens opened and I saw
That my name was written down.

In the Book ’tis written, “Saved by Grace,”
O the joy that came to my soul!
Now I am forgiven, and I know
By the blood I am made whole.
