Amb. Danon: ‘Anti-Semite’ Corbyn sending Britain to dark ages
October 9, 2018

Israel’s Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon warned Parliament that Corbyn “embrac[es] his terrorist friends and encourag[es] the activities of BDS.”
By: JNS.org and World Israel News Staff
In his address to British lawmakers, Danon said that opposition and Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn is “an anti-Semite who wants to return Britain to darker periods in its history.”
The ambassador added that “in his actions and statements, Corbyn gives oxygen to incidents of racism by embracing his terrorist friends and encouraging the activities of BDS. Israel stands by the Jewish community in England.”
Corbyn, whose Labour Party’s popularity in the United Kingdom has surged in recent months amid the ongoing uncertainty regarding Brexit, has come under intense criticism for a number of scandals involving anti-Semitism and support for Palestinian terrorist organizations. Anti-Semitism watchdog groups have called on Corbyn to resign.
The Labour leader also vowed recently to recognize Palestinian statehood if his party were to win in the next general election.
Danon’s position reflects the feelings of the overwhelming majority of U.K. Jews, according to a recent poll conducted by The Jewish Chronicle, which revealed that 85.9% of British Jews believe Corbyn is an anti-Semite.

Britain’s Security chiefs warn of growing threat of chemical weapons attack
(Express) Britain faces the growing threat of a terror attack involving chemical or biological weapons in the near future, security officials have warned. The chilling warning was issued by Security Minister Ben Wallace and Britains’s top counter-terrorism officer Neil Basu who both said the possibility of such an attack was getting closer. Mr.Wallace told the Dods National Security Summit in Westminster: “I see plots where the only limit to the ambition of our adversaries is their imagination.
“As I speak, terrorists continue to explore new ways to kill us on our streets: chemical and biological weapons are marching in closer. “They have developed and worked on a better arsenal. We have to be prepared for the day that might come to our streets here.” Last year, Britain suffered five terror attacks that killed 36 people and four of the atrocities were committed by Islamist militants.

The most revealing conversation with a Jihadi
By Leah Rosenberg - October 7, 2018 9724 0
This is indeed a revealing conversation. There are people who support Shariah Law who walk around on our streets just like we do. It is one thing to have different opinions. Hear straight from this Muslim who was once a Christian and now believes that he is a superior person. He believes in violence to achieve the goals of the Muslim religion, and he hides nothing.

Violent Jihad
This spokesman believes that America has no moral ground to stand on. He believes that Muslims should have Shariah Law in England. Does he believe that Shariah Law should take over England? Yes. Does he want Shariah Law to take over in a peaceful manner? Yes.
This man does not believe that Muslim terrorists should be criticized for their attacks against innocent civilians in England.
All he has to say is that Tommy Robinson is bad for England, and that the media is biased against Muslims.
Shariah Law
If the UK was run by Shariah Law, then people like Tommy Robinson would be charged for blasphemy. The punishment would be the same as the punishment for killing or rape. That is quite radical.
If anybody who insults the Muslim religion is a blasphemer, then we need to understand the ramifications of that thought. That means that anybody who is not a Muslim would be in enormous danger.
We need to understand that there is a real and present danger to our way of life as we know it.

Britain stages biggest war games for 17 years with 5,500 troops while rehearsing cyber strike to black out Moscow
(The Sun) Defense chiefs have rehearsed a huge cyber-strike to cripple Moscow if Vladimir Putin ever launches a military attack on the West. Senior security sources are reportedly concerned Britain’s military resources are ill-equipped to respond to Russia short of firing Trident nuclear missiles. Senior security sources say they are concerned Britain has a “capability gap” that has left commanders with not enough firepower to
take on Putin’s military might, reveals the Sunday Times. And reports claims exercises on the threat posed by Russia have left officials “ashen-faced” at how any confrontation with Russia could escalate out of control. Top level Whitehall officials have now vowed to step up Britain’s offensive cyber-attack capabilities in readiness for any future conflicts with the Kremlin. The news comes as 5,500 British troops take part in their biggest military exercise for a decade to improve their combat readiness.

UK: Muslim drug dealer jailed for enslaving children and forcing them to run a crack den and sell drugs
OCT 4, 2018 12:50 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER 44 COMMENTS
Why not? Slavery is acceptable in Islam.
The Qur’an has Allah telling Muhammad that he has given him girls as sex slaves: “Prophet, We have made lawful to you the wives to whom you have granted dowries and the slave girls whom God has given you as booty.” (Qur’an 33:50)
Muhammad bought slaves: “Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported: There came a slave and pledged allegiance to Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) on migration; he (the Holy Prophet) did not know that he was a slave. Then there came his master and demanded him back, whereupon Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: Sell him to me. And he bought him for two black slaves, and he did not afterwards take allegiance from anyone until he had asked him whether he was a slave (or a free man).” (Muslim 3901)
Muhammad took female Infidel captives as slaves: “Narrated Anas: The Prophet offered the Fajr Prayer near Khaibar when it was still dark and then said, ‘Allahu-Akbar! Khaibar is destroyed, for whenever we approach a (hostile) nation (to fight), then evil will be the morning for those who have been warned.’ Then the inhabitants of Khaibar came out running on the roads. The Prophet had their warriors killed, their offspring and woman taken as captives. Safiya was amongst the captives. She first came in the share of Dahya Alkali but later on she belonged to the Prophet. The Prophet made her manumission as her ‘Mahr.’” (Bukhari 5.59.512) Mahr is bride price: Muhammad freed her and married her. But he didn’t do this to all his slaves:
Muhammad owned slaves: “Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah’s Apostle was on a journey and he had a black slave called Anjasha, and he was driving the camels (very fast, and there were women riding on those camels). Allah’s Apostle said, ‘Waihaka (May Allah be merciful to you), O Anjasha! Drive slowly (the camels) with the glass vessels (women)!’” (Bukhari 8.73.182) There is no mention of Muhammad’s freeing Anjasha.
“This Is The First Drug Dealer To Be Jailed Over Modern Slavery After Forcing Kids To Work For Him,” by Amardeep Bassey, Huffington Post, October 3, 2018 (thanks to Paul):
A drug dealer who trafficked three teenagers from Birmingham to rural Lincolnshire to run a crack den and sell drugs has been jailed for 14 years after the first prosecution of its kind.
Zakaria Mohammed recruited the vulnerable youngsters to extend his “county lines” drugs network to Lincoln, but was caught after two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old girl were reported missing, before being found in a squalid and freezing flat.
The 21-year-old will serve half of his sentence before he is eligible for release on licence.
Mohammed, from Trinity Road, Aston, is thought to be the first drug dealer convicted in Britain for breaching the Modern Slavery Act by trafficking children.
Police said Mohammed, who admitted four counts of possessing drugs with intent to supply and five counts of human trafficking, raked in £500-a-day in profit by organising the sale of crack cocaine and heroin from premises in Lincoln, which were raided in January.
Although no drugs were found at the property in Yarborough Road, police recovered knives, one with blood on it, and cash, leading them to believe it was being used a base to supply around 100 local drug addicts.
A surveillance operation then identified a Seat Leon vehicle registered to Mohammed as making regular trips from Birmingham, often accompanied by teenagers, to an address in Lincoln’s Foster Street….
Officers from Lincolnshire Police recorded video evidence of children passing drugs to punters – often completing deals every 10 or 15 minutes – and swooped on the flat in Foster Street on February 12.
Three 15-year-old boys, all reported as missing from Birmingham, were found inside the one-bed flat along with two known Class A drug users.
A total of 25 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine were uncovered, plus cash and two so-called zombie knives….

An overwhelming majority of British Jews believe the Labour Party is anti-Semitic and that its leader, Jeremy Corbyn, is an anti-Semite, according to a new poll.
By: Benjamin Kerstein, The Algemeiner
A huge majority — 85.9% — of British Jews believe Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn is an antisemite, a poll conducted by The Jewish Chronicle revealed.
This marked a massive rise from the previous such survey, in which only 39% of Jews believed Corbyn was antisemitic.
British Jews also expressed an extremely low opinion of the Labour Party in general. The poll showed that 85.6% believed Labour suffered from “very high” levels of antisemitism.
Corbyn and his party have been beset with a series of high-profile antisemitism scandals for several years, which has resulted in the resignation and suspension of several prominent officials. Corbyn himself was recently caught on video saying that “Zionists” did not understand “English irony” despite “having lived in this country for a very long time.”

Support for Mayor Khan Crashes After Summer of Violence

The London Mayor’s approval rating has slumped to its lowest level on record after a summer of surging violence in the capital, crashing to just a fifth of its previous level earlier in the year.
Sadiq Khan’s personal ratings plummeted from +22 in May this year to just +4 this month, according to a YouGov poll for Queen Mary University of London.
He now has a negative rating among older voters aged over 50, white voters, the working classes — so-called C2DE lower socioeconomic groups — and “doughnut dwellers” living in London’s outskirts.
The poll found that less than half, or 44 percent, of voters say he is doing well compared to 52 percent in April 2018. And almost as many, 40 percent, say he is doing badly — a ten point jump since April

In April, Khan was +12 with white Londoners and now has an approval rating of -5. He was +14 in outer London, also sinking to -5, and with working-class C2DE voters, he has slipped from +5 to -7 over the summer.
Philip Cowley, Professor of Politics at Queen Mary and Director of the Mile End Institute, commented on the findings:
“In April 2018, Sadiq Khan was still ahead among those aged 50-64, working class Londoners, those living in outer London and white voters. He’s now behind among all of these groups.”
He added: “When we first started polling, he was one of the most popular politicians in Britain. Such was his cross-party support, he even had net positive support from Conservative voters. Those days are long gone.”
Speaking on social media, the professor argued Mr Khan can be beaten at the next mayoral election in May 2020 if he faces a strong Tory candidate.
One of the defining issues of Mr Khan’s term has been crime, with the Mayor attracting a succession of negative headlines.

Murders in London Overtake New York for First Time Since 1800 Under Sadiq Khan
London has overtaken New York City for number of murders for the first time in over 200 years under the mayoralty of Labour's Sadiq Khan.

In the last 12 months, 137 people were murdered or violently killed in London, compared to 97 in the year that ended as Sadiq Khan became Mayor, with him coming to power in May 2016.
From May 2010 until March 2015, there were 400 or fewer offences in London involving a weapon every month apart from three.
However, since March 2015, the monthly numbers have risen, peaking at 710 in May last year, under the leadership of Khan. Moped crime, acid attacks, and sex crimes, in particular, are rising.
Mr Khan has repeatedly denied responsibility and deflected blame for the problem on to the Tories and central government, saying in January that he “can not solve knife crime by [him]self” when pressed on the issue.
Meanwhile, he has taken a strong stance on politically correct cultural issues, moving to ban attractive images of women on the Tube, fast food adverts, and campaigning against a clean Brexit and U.S. President Donald J. Trump.

Petrov & Boshirov mocked on Twitter, but Salisbury’s self-esteem the biggest victim
Salisbury Cathedral, 13 Sept 2018, Toby Melville / Reuters
RT’s interview with the two Russian men accused of being behind the Skripal poisoning has revealed a Twitter widely cynical about both their innocence, and Salisbury’s claims to be an international tourist hotspot.
Whatever your views on the Skripal poisoning and the guilt or innocence of suspects Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov, few could argue it has been a bad day for the self-esteem of Salisbury and its much-admired cathedral. The majority on social media clearly think the town is awful and certainly not worth a 3,000-mile round trip.
But with the optimism of knowing God is on its side, and the ‘no publicity is bad publicity’ mantra ringing in its ears, Salisbury Cathedral itself is not wasting its new-found notoriety. It sent out a promotional tweet detailing the mighty 123-meter erection which apparently attracted Petrov and Boshirov in the first place.

Well after the revelations, people soon began to notice that Petrov and Boshirov weren’t the first celebrities to take an interest in Salisbury after all. RT editor-in-chief spoke to UK’s suspects in Skripal case, interview to be aired later today
RT Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan spoke to the two men London named as suspects in the Skripal case, and the interview is set to be aired soon. Earlier, Putin said they are civilians and "there is nothing criminal about them.”
Simonyan said the interview took place on Wednesday.
The mystery surrounding the Salisbury “suspects” started right after their pictures hit the front pages of the international media following a police press conference last week.
While prosecutors just said that Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov had Russian passports, they did not elaborate on who the people are. In fact, law enforcement appealed to the public to come forward with any information regarding the two, saying the names were likely not their real one.

Crime Wave Britain: Six Police Officers Stabbed, Rammed, Run over in 72 Hours

Attacks against police officers are increasing amid a violent crime wave in Great Britain, with six officers injured in one force area over a three-day period.
West Midlands Police covers a wide geographical area which includes Birmingham, Britain’s multicultural second city, and Wolverhampton, the former seat of the late anti-mass migration campaigner Enoch Powell.
The first officer to be attacked was stabbed during an attempted carjacking while off-duty on September 5th, in a shocking scene captured on CCTV.
A hooded man clad in black is said to have approached the 25-year-old officer in Walsall in the middle of the day at 1:30 pm and demanded his car keys, chasing him down and stabbing him in the chest several times when he tried to run.
Carrying firearms, pepper spray, or any other article for self-defence is prohibited in the United Kingdom, even for off-duty police officers and members of the Armed Forces — with the exception of Northern Ireland.

England’s Largest Muslim Group Wants Franklin Graham Banned From Preaching There
The largest Islamic organization in Britain is urging the government to ban evangelist Franklin Graham, who is scheduled to appear at an event in the country later this month. Newsweek reports the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), the umbrella organization for hundreds of Islamic groups, has supported the calls from three members of Parliament and members of the public to deny Graham a visa for spreading what the organization calls “hate speech.”
The “hate speech” they refer to is Graham’s preaching against Islam as “evil” and as a “religion of war.” He’s also been an opponent against the movement for LGBTQ rights. Graham, the son of the late Billy Graham, is to be the featured speaker at the Festival of Hope event in Blackpool, located in northwest England, on Sept. 21. On the website Jihad Watch, writer Robert Spencer asks “Would anyone be calling for the banning of Graham from the U.K. if he had called Christianity ‘evil’?”

Jeremy Corbyn – Anti-Semite
Jeremy Corbyn is the British anti-semite that keeps on giving. With each day more and more troublesome outbursts, events and meetings are exposed. We now can clearly see his true antisemitic colors. One of the latest antisemitic comments that came to the fore was one he made a few years ago. Corbyn said that “British Zionists don’t get British irony.” What Corbyn is essentially implying is that regardless if a British Jew was born in Britain, or lived in Britain for centuries, so long as they are Zionists, they are not really British. Rather, they are aliens to Britain. This is an extremely severe comment to say about fellow British citizens. This is especially bothersome due to the fact that tens of thousands of Jewish men served in the British Army and Navy in World War I and II.

British Prime Minister Theresa May rightly calls out Labour leader Corbyn for uttering such an antisemitic comment on the Parliament floor.

It seems like this issue won’t disappear. This antisemitism problem in the Labour party seems to be growing, not going away. The biggest problem with Jeremy Corbyn’s actions as the Labour party leader is that he is mainstreaming antisemitism. As Maajid Nawaz has said, the Labour party today is now institutionally racist.

The United Nations Security Council is meeting after British Prime Minister Theresa May named the two men allegedly responsible for the Skripal poisoning as Russian spies.
May has said that the poisoning of former Russian Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in March was ordered at a "senior level" of the Russian government. She said that the suspects, named as 'Alexander Petrov' and 'Ruslan Boshirov', are members of the GRU, Russia’s military intelligence service, and that the poisoning was not a “rogue operation."

Russia has nothing to do with the Skripal poisoning case at any level, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said, slamming “unacceptable” British allegations.
“Neither Russia’s top leadership nor those with lower ranks, and no country’s officials, have had anything to do with the events in Salisbury,” Peskov said. He rebuffed UK Prime Minister Theresa May’s claim that the attack on the ex-double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter was approved at “senior level of the Russian state.”
“Any accusations against Russian leadership are unacceptable,” the spokesman added.
On Wednesday, UK prosecutors named two “Russians” whom they accuse of poisoning the Skripals. May later claimed that the duo were officers of the Russian military intelligence agency GRU. Firing back, the Russian Foreign Ministry said the names and photos of the two men ‘do not mean anything’ to Moscow and called on London “to abandon making public accusations and media manipulations.”

If the UK wants Russia to take action, it should send an official request in the first place in accordance with existing agreements, Peskov stressed, noting that media reports and statemens in parliament cannot replace it.
“We need a request from the British side to check their [suspects’] identities, to give us legal grounds for the identity checks. There is a common practice [for it],” he told journalists. He stressed that from the very beginning Moscow offered cooperation on the case, but London has been reluctant to agree.
One of the main arguments leading the UK to repeat its “highly likely” mantra regarding Moscow’s involvement in the poisoning has been that the Novichok nerve agent – allegedly used in this case – could have only been produced by Russia. However, foreign specialists have long been familiar with the formula, which was developed by the Soviet Union.
The new “revelations,” however, are not more plausible that the previous ones, Charles Shoebridge, a security expert and a former British military officer, told RT. The simple fact that allegedly well-trained Russian intelligence specialists could have left behind so much evidence speaks for itself, he says.
“It seems very strange that these people have absolutely left what seems to be a very reckless and clear trail of evidence, which almost seems to be designed, or at least would almost inevitably lead to the conclusions that the police and the authorities have come to today, in other words that Russia [is] to blame,” he told RT.

Annie Machon, a former MI5 intelligence officer, said she doubts Russia’s alleged motive behind the Salisbury incident and that certain pieces of evidence reported by the media “may look pretty compelling but will never be tested in a real

Labour party leader is forcing Jews to consider leaving England

This is not a joke. The big conversation in Jewish homes in Britain today is whether they will stay or leave if Corbyn becomes Prime Minister. As of now, he has not been elected Prime Minister. But everyone knows that his chances of winning the next elections are great. That might be the catalyst for a mass exodus of Jews from Britain.
Antisemitism on the rise in Britain
The leadership of Jeremy Corbyn has made antisemitism into a mainstream position. This is a real shocker. Understandably, the Jews of Britain are quite concerned, if not downright scared. The first six months of 2018 saw the second largest number of anti-semitic attacks in the UK. The first six months of 2017 saw the largest number of attacks.
The Labour Party is Now “Institutionally Racist”
Liberal, secular, Muslim radio host Maajid Nawaz delivered a damning explanation about the Labour Party. He believes that the Labour party is institutionally racist. This is a MUST SEE video to understand how Jews of Britain feel today.

Shout out directly antsemitic statements and you get elected to the ruling body. Have an argument with puppet leader Corbyn and you get threatened with disciplinary action.
It's beyond parody now.

Clean sweep for the left in Labour NEC elections, including Pete Willsman who was dropped from the Momentum slate. For Willsman to get more votes than Izzard is utterly remarkable. On a ‘low turnout’ Yasmine Dar got more votes than there are members of the Tory party!

Corbyn blasts ‘shameful’ US decision to end UNRWA funding, calls for UK to ‘fill the gap’

While facing condemnation for his anti-Israel activism and charges of anti-Semitism from party members, world Jewish leaders and senior Israeli politicians, UK Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn added fuel to the fire by weighing in on Washington’s decision to stop funding UNRWA.
“Shameful for the US to end its funding for UNRWA, a vital UN refugee agency. The UK must help to fill the gap by boosting its contributions. Support for Palestinian refugees is a vital commitment until there is a just and viable settlement of the Israel-Palestine conflict,” he tweeted on Saturday night.
The State Department announced Friday that the US, the largest contributor to UNRWA with $350 million in annual aid, will make no additional contributions to the agency.
The Palestinians, who reacted in fury to the move, claim refugee status for five million people, which includes millions of descendants of the approximately 700,000 original refugees who were living in British Mandatory Palestine, or what is now the State of Israel, and were displaced during the 1948 War of Independence.
These descendants of refugees, supported by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA), live in Judea and Samaria, the Gaza Strip, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.
The majority of the original refugees are no longer alive.
Speaking Sunday morning on the occasion of the first day of the new school year, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu added comments praising the US decision.
Netanyahu: US made a ‘welcome and important change’
Referring to Jewish refugees from Europe and from Arab lands, he said that the State of Israel “did not leave them as refugees; we turned them into equal citizens, who contribute, in our state.
“This is not what is happening with the Palestinians,” he added. “There they created a unique institution, 70 years ago, not to absorb the refugees but to perpetuate them. Therefore, the US has done a very important thing by halting the financing for the refugee perpetuation agency known as UNRWA. It is finally beginning to resolve the problem. The funds must be taken and used to genuinely help rehabilitate the refugees, the true number of which is much smaller than the number reported by UNRWA. This is a welcome and important change and we support it.”
Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon issued a statement, saying, “We welcome the US’ decision as UNRWA has proven itself an impediment to resolving the conflict by keeping the Palestinians in perpetual refugee status. The Palestinian attempt to approach the UN is another empty statement.
“It’s about time that the Palestinian leadership abandoned its victimhood and incitement campaign and took concrete steps to improve the Palestinians future,” he added.

A veteran British lawmaker quit the Labour Party grouping in Parliament Thursday, saying the opposition party had become a “force for anti-Semitism.”
Frank Field quit with a letter to the party’s chief whip accusing the leadership of the left-of-center party of overseeing an “erosion of our core values.”
“Britain fought the Second World War to banish these views from our politics, but that superhuman effort and success is now under huge and sustained internal attack,” he wrote.
Field also complained of “thuggery” and “bullying and intimidation” in his local branch of the party.
Allegations of anti-Jewish prejudice within Labour have grown since veteran socialist Jeremy Corbyn was elected leader in 2015. Some in the party allege that Corbyn, a longtime critic of Israel, has allowed anti-Semitic abuse to go unchecked, while others have accused Corbyn himself of being an anti-Semite.
The issue has split the party, with some Corbyn supporters accusing opponents and right-wing media outlets of misrepresenting the leader’s views.
Field, 76, has sat in Parliament since 1979 and served as a minister in then Prime Minister Tony Blair’s government, but has found himself at odds with Corbyn and his left-wing supporters. His support for Brexit has also put him at odds with many Labour colleagues.
Field said he plans to remain in Parliament as an independent.
Deputy Labour leader Tom Watson said Field’s resignation was “a major wake up call. We cannot afford to lose people of such weight and stature.”
Field’s decision arrives just a few days after Lord Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, former Chief Rabbi of the UK, deemed Corbyn an anti-Semite in comments that were published on Tuesday in the New Statesman.
Sacks’ made the comments following a string of revelations regarding Corbyn’s statements about Israel and UK “Zionists,” in addition to incidents such as Corbyn’s presence at an event honoring the Munich massacre terrorists and his accusation that Israel committed “genocide” while speaking in front of a Hamas flag.
“We can only judge Jeremy Corbyn by his words and his actions,” said Sacks. “He has given support to racists, terrorists and dealers of hate who want to kill Jews and remove Israel from the map. When he implies that, however long they have lived here, Jews are not fully British, he is using the language of classic pre-war European anti-Semitism. When challenged with such facts, the evidence for which is before our eyes, first he denies, then he equivocates, then he obfuscates. This is low, dishonest and dangerous.”

Britain’s former chief rabbi, Lord Jonathan Sacks, branded the Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn a dangerous anti-Semite in an interview published Tuesday.
In a devastating critique of the opposition leader, Sacks accused Corbyn of giving “support to racists, terrorists and dealers of hate, who want to kill Jews and remove Israel from the map.” The Labour leader, Sacks said, uses “the language of classic prewar European antisemitism.”
Corbyn has been under mounting attack for his own allegedly anti-Semitic positions and for failing to root anti-Semitism out of Labour, Britain’s main opposition party.

The comments that sparked Sacks’s denunciation were made by Corbyn in a 2013 speech at the Palestinian Return Centre in London:, where Corbyn said of a group of British “Zionists”: “They clearly have two problems. One is they don’t want to study history and, secondly, having lived in this country for a very long time, probably all their lives, they don’t understand English irony either.”
In an interview with the New Statesman magazine, Sacks, who served as chief rabbi from 1991 to 2013, called those remarks the most offensive to have been made by a senior British politician for 50 years.
“The recently disclosed remarks by Jeremy Corbyn are the most offensive statement made by a senior British politician since Enoch Powell’s 1968 ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech,” said Sacks. “It was divisive, hateful and like Powell’s speech it undermines the existence of an entire group of British citizens by depicting them as essentially alien.

“We can only judge Jeremy Corbyn by his words and his actions,” Sacks went on. “He has given support to racists, terrorists and dealers of hate who want to kill Jews and remove from Israel from the map.”
Interpreting Corbyn’s comment about “Zionists” as a thinly veiled reference to Jews, Sacks said: “When he implies that, however long they have lived here, Jews are not fully British, he is using the language of classic pre-war European anti-Semitism. When challenged with such facts, the evidence for which is before our eyes, first he denies, then he equivocates, then he obfuscates. This is low, dishonest and dangerous.”
Warned Sacks: “He has legitimised the public expression of hate, and where he leads, others will follow.
“Now, within living memory of the Holocaust, and while Jews are being murdered elsewhere in Europe for being Jews, we have an anti-Semite as the leader of the Labour Party and her majesty’s opposition. That is why Jews feel so threatened by Mr Corbyn and those who support him.”
“For more than three and a half centuries, the Jews of Britain have contributed to every aspect of national life,” Sacks noted. “We know our history better than Mr Corbyn, and we have learned that the hate that begins with Jews never ends with Jews. Mr Corbyn’s embrace of hate defiles our politics and demeans the country we love.”
Corbyn’s 2013 remarks, which resurfaced last week, have prompted a fresh wave of criticism of Corbyn, including from some Labour MPs. Corbyn last week claimed that he had used the word Zionist “in the accurate political sense and not as a euphemism for Jewish people.”
Sacks spoke days after a petition was launched by a British anti-Semitism advocacy group calling for Corbyn’s resignation.
The Campaign Against Antisemitism, founded in 2014, insisted “Jeremy Corbyn must go.” It urged Labour’s lawmakers to act, noting that “only 52 Labour MPs [are needed] to propose a challenger, or Labour MPs could propose a vote of no confidence, or set up their own political party. We call on the Parliamentary Labour Party to take action.”
The petition, which quickly gained thousands of signatures, was posted to the change.org website on Saturday, the same day a Labour Party anti-Semitism campaign group filed a formal complaint against Corbyn over his 2013 “Zionists” speech.
The CAA petition railed against “events from Jeremy Corbyn’s disturbing past” that “have trickled into the light.”
Back when “he could speak his mind without fear of scrutiny, [Corbyn] blamed Islamist terrorist attacks on Israel; defended an appalling antisemitic mural; honored a sheikh banned from the UK for saying that Jews drink non-Jews’ blood; said that a Hamas terrorist whose life’s work was the murder of Jews was his ‘brother’; held a repulsive event on Holocaust Memorial Day in which Jews were accused of being the successors to the Nazis; tried to have the word ‘Holocaust’ removed from the title of Holocaust Memorial Day; laid a wreath at a memorial for the Black September terrorists behind the Munich Massacre; and now we have heard that he made euphemistic comments to suggest that Jews are somehow un-British and foreign to the ways of our country,” it charged.
The petition garnered 5,581 signatures in its first 20 hours online.
It charged that Corbyn “over many years…sought to defend, honor, assist and promote antisemites and the context is that his actions have been consistent with those of an ideological antisemite. We had hoped that the Labour Party might at some point rise to the defense of British Jews by removing Jeremy Corbyn or by demanding his resignation, but the institutions of the once proudly anti-racist Labour Party are now corrupted and will not act.”
Earlier Saturday, Labour’s internal anti-Semitism advocacy group, Labour Against Anti-Semitism, said it had lodged a formal complaint with the party against Corbyn for “anti-Semitism and for bringing the party into disrepute.”
On Friday, The Times of London published an editorial calling Corbyn “straightforwardly antisemitic,” and concluding that his comments should “render him ineligible for membership, let alone leadership, of a democratic party and for public office.”
The 2013, Hamas-endorsed conference featured several controversial speakers, including one who advocated boycotting Holocaust Memorial Day and another who blamed Israel for the 9/11 terror attacks in New York.
The resurfacing of Corbyn’s 2013 speech was met with backlash from a number of Labour MPs and Jewish figures, with the editor of the Jewish Chronicle saying “it’s almost impossible to read this as anything other than a reference to Jews.”

But Corbyn defended his remarks, insisting that his mention of “Zionists” was not a euphemism for the Jewish people.
In a statement quoted by The Guardian on Friday, Corbyn said he had become “more careful with how I might use the term ‘Zionist’ because a once self-identifying political term has been increasingly hijacked by anti-Semites as code for Jews.”
The incident is the latest of a string of revelations detailing Corbyn’s antipathy for the Jewish state, and highlights the widening gap between the British left and the country’s Jewish community.
Claims of anti-Jewish prejudice within Labour have grown since Corbyn, a longtime critic of Israel, was elected leader in 2015. UK Jewish groups have accused him of failing to expel party members who openly express anti-Semitic views.
The dispute recently boiled over after the party last month proposed adopting a definition of anti-Semitism that differed from the one approved by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, a move that was met with anger from Jewish groups and the country’s chief rabbi.
In recent months, photos and videos and photos have emerged of Corbyn and other Labour officials making anti-Semitic and virulent anti-Israel comments.

Two weeks ago, footage surfaced of Corbyn accusing Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians during a 2014 rally, as a Hamas flag waved behind him. Corbyn called the terror group “friends” prior to his election as Labour leader two years ago, a statement he has since walked back.
One of the photos published recently showed Corbyn hosting a panel featuring a senior Hamas officials in 2012, including members convicted of murdering Israelis in terror attacks.
Earlier in August, the Daily Mail published photos of Corbyn in 2014 laying a wreath at the grave of the Palestinian terrorists who murdered 11 Israeli athletes in the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Corbyn initially claimed he attended the ceremony at the Cemetery of the Martyrs of Palestine, in Tunisia to commemorate the 47 Palestinians killed during an Israeli bombing raid there in 1985. But images recovered from a Palestinian Embassy archive by the paper showed Corbyn holding a wreath in front of a plaque dedicated to members of Black September.
“A wreath was indeed laid by some of those who were at the conference to those that were killed in Paris in 1992,” Corbyn later admitted, adding that he while he was present at the ceremony, he did not “think I was actually involved in it.”
Last week, Times of Israel editor David Horovitz detailed Corbyn’s years of activism on behalf of a Labour movement that sought to “eradicate Zionism” and replace Israel with a secular Palestinian state, and branded Corbyn “an anti-Semite and a racist.” Horovitz wrote that Labour, if it wants to root out anti-Semitism, must expel Corbyn.
In his 2013 speech, Corbyn spoke about the importance of history and of how necessary it was for people to understand the origins of the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.
He then praised a speech he had recently heard by Manuel Hassassian at a meeting in parliament in which the Palestinian ambassador to the UK gave an “incredibly powerful” account of the history of Palestine.
Corbyn then added: “This was dutifully recorded by the, thankfully silent, Zionists who were in the audience on that occasion, and then came up and berated him afterwards for what he had said.
“They clearly have two problems. One is that they don’t want to study history, and secondly, having lived in this country for a very long time, probably all their lives, don’t understand English irony either. Manuel does understand English irony, and uses it very effectively. So I think they needed two lessons, which we can perhaps help them with.”
In a statement released on Friday, Corbyn said he had “defended the Palestinian ambassador in the face of what I thought were deliberate misrepresentations by people for whom English was a first language, when it isn’t for the ambassador”.

J.K. Rowling went head to head with a fellow British writer on Twitter over his criticism of Jewish complaints about anti-Semitism in the Labour Party.
Simon Maginn, who has written five thrillers under his own name and satirical comedies under the name Simon Nolan, on Sunday in a tweet called Jewish outrage over Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s 2013 comments indicating that “Zionists” do not understand British culture “patently synthetic outrage,” and called on a Jewish tweeter to “Explain your deep and wounding sense of injury.”
Rowling, who is not Jewish, tweeted in response: “How dare you tell a Jew that their outrage is ‘patently synthetic’? How dare you demand that they lay bare their pain and fear on demand, for your personal evaluation? What other minority would you speak to this way?”
>> Opinion: Jeremy Corbyn's 'Good Jews' are mostly dead ■ 'Just when my relations with Jews were going so well.' Corbyn's secret diary revealed
Maginn then called on Rowling to explain, noting that Corbyn has said that his comments did not refer to Jews but was “a rather complicated joke about the Palestinian Ambassador’s fluency in English.”

The opening salvos set up a back and forth that lasted throughout Sunday. Rowling tweeted several quotes from Jean-Paul Sartre’s “Anti-Semite and Jew” — a famous essay on anti-Semitism by the philosopher — and lambasted him for demanding that a British Jew explain how he feels under anti-Semitic attack “when there are literally hundreds of accounts currently online explaining how British Jews currently feel?”

Maginn accused Rowling of “libel” for publicly calling him an anti-Semite in one of her tweets, but tweeted that “I’m not going to mount a legal action against you because I haven’t got any money and you’ve got a lot, but false + defamatory = libellous. What a class act you are. What a nasty vicious little bully. Blocked.”
Early Monday morning he continued his harangue, opening with a tweet reading: “BREAKING NEWS: From today, any statement by Jeremy Corbyn or his supporters is now *automatically antisemitic*, unless cleared by a panel comprising Dan Hodges, J K Rowling, Stephen Pollard and (wild card entry) David Baddiel.”
Dan Hodges is a columnist for the Daily Mail who has accused Corbyn supporters of overt anti-Semitism. Pollard is the editor of London’s Jewish Chronicle newspaper, and Baddiel is a British comedian and activist who campaigns against anti-Semitism in British soccer matches.
Maginn called on Rowling to apologize for “a sickening personal accusation against a complete stranger who disagrees with you politically,” also tweeting that “your followers surely deserve better than this kind of behaviour from you. So do I. I deserve an apology.”
Rowling, who has 14.4 million followers on Twitter, did not respond.
Maginn has tweeted against Jews in the past. In July, in response to the Labour Party rejecting the complete international definigion of anti-Semitism, he wrote: “Astounding isn’t it, that a group which claims to be silenced, oppressed, powerless manages to keep the story running day after day, week after week, month after month, in every Tory paper and on the Tory BBC. Must be terrible to be so oppressed, so silenced.”
It is not the first time that Rowling has debated anti-Semitism on Twitter. In April, she posted a screen grab of a non-Jew attempting to explain what Judaism is — “Judaism is a religion not a race” — and explained why this is hardly relevant to defining anti-Jewish bias.
She tweeted: “Most UK Jews in my timeline are currently having to field this kind of crap, so perhaps some of us non-Jews should start shouldering the burden,” she said. “Antisemites think this is a clever argument, so tell us, do: were atheist Jews exempted from wearing the yellow star? #antisemitism.”
She also responded when someone argued that Arabs can’t be anti-Semitic because they are Semites. “The ‘Arabs are semitic too’ hot takes have arrived,” she tweeted.

French police in the heavily migrant populated suburbs of Paris have seized 32 sheep that were found in the garage of a pizzeria ahead of the Islamic Eid al-Adha festival in which Muslims sacrifice animals.
The animals were found in the commune of Drancy, which is located in the heavily migrant populated Seine-Saint-Denis suburbs to the north of Paris which have become well-known for having a large Muslim population. The seized sheep were taken to an animal shelter in Chailly-en-Brie, Le Parisien reports.
While adherents of the Islamic faith are allowed to engage in ritual halal slaughter for Eid al-Adha, by French law they must do so in a controlled environment at a recognized slaughterhouse both for hygiene reasons and to combat potential animal cruelty.
The discovery was not the only one of hidden sheep intended to be slaughtered over the Islamic festival. In Clichy-sous-Bois and Montfermeil, police were tipped off by the association for the defence of animals and found five more sheep located at three separate addresses.
Police also arrested a man earlier this week after he had illegally shot two sheep.
The slaughter of animals in connection with the festival has also been the subject of controversy in neighbouring Belgium, with two of the country’s three regions banning slaughter without having the animal stunned beforehand.

The region of Brussels, where the notorious suburb of Molenbeek is located, has so far declined to join Flanders and Wallonia in banning the slaughter leading to criticism from animal rights campaigners.
In the UK, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty Animals (RSPCA) has spoken out against halal slaughter practices and advocating that all animals should be stunned before slaughter.
The RSPCA slammed the UK government this week for relaxing laws on slaughter methods accusing the government of trying to increase sales of UK halal products to Saudi Arabia.
“This [deal with Saudi Arabia] is very disappointing news. Non-stun slaughter causes serious suffering for animals,” said Marc Cooper, the head of the RSPCA’s farm animal department and added, “To minimise unnecessary animal suffering, we believe it should follow other European nations and ban the export of meat from non-stunned animals.”

A senior Iranian cleric warned Washington on Wednesday that if it attacked Iran, the United States and allied Israel would be targeted, as a war of words escalated after the re-imposition of the U.S. sanctions on Iran.
Ahmad Khatami also told worshippers attending Eid prayers in Tehran that U.S. President Donald Trump's offer of talks with Iranian leaders was unacceptable, as the U.S. leader wanted Tehran to concede on its missile program and regional influence.
"Americans say you should accept what we say in the talks. So this is not negotiation, but dictatorship. The Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation would stand up against dictatorship," Khatami was quoted as saying by Mizan news agency.
"The price of a war with Iran is very high for America. They know if they harm this country and this state in the slightest way, the United States and its main ally in the region, the Zionist regime (of Israel) would be targeted," Khatami said.
Khatami did not elaborate which forces would carry out such attacks, but Iran has said it could target Israeli cities with its missiles if it is threatened. Iran also has proxies in the region, including Lebanon's Hezbollah group.
Iranian President Hassan Rohani said on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic's military prowess was what deterred Washington from attacking it, and vowed to boost Iran's military might.
The Trump administration slapped sanctions back on Iran this month after withdrawing from the 2015 international nuclear deal with Iran, saying it was too soft on Tehran and would not stop it developing a nuclear bomb.
Washington imposed new sanctions in August, targeting Iran's car industry, trade in gold and other precious metals, and purchases of U.S. dollars. Trump has said the United States will issue another round of tougher sanctions in November that will target Iran's oil sales and banking sector.
Trump's national security adviser told Reuters on Wednesday that the U.S. president wanted maximum pressure on Iran.
"There should not be any doubt that the United States wants this resolved peacefully, but we are fully prepared for any contingency that Iran creates," John Bolton said.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has rejected Trump's offer of unconditional talks on a new nuclear deal, prompting Trump to tell Reuters in an interview on Monday: "If they want to meet, that's fine, and if they don't want to meet, I couldn't care less."

A radical split: How anti-Semitism and Islamophobia are dividing British politics
Netanyahu picks the perfect time to lay a trap for Corbyn – and he fell for it
Many young U.K. Jews who support the Labour Party on social issues and are against Brexit say they feel like they no longer have a political home as the rift between British Jews and the party led by Jeremy Corbyn deepends.
“The news just felt like a punch in the face every time I turned my phone on,” says Amitai Landau-Pope, an Oxford University student and an active member of the Oxford University Jewish Society, about the recent strings of scandals plaguing the political party he once called home.

Despite being an avowed socialist and having campaigned for Labour’s Sadiq Khan in the London mayoral elections, he recently cancelled his Labour Party membership. Corbyn’s Labour, he feels, is no longer a party where he, as a left wing British Jew, can feel a part of.
The left-wing leader, a long-time critic of Israel and supporter of the Palestinian cause, stands accused of anti-Semitism, or at least of tolerating it. In the latest spat, tensions have been further strained after the Labour party adopted what critics say is a watered-down version of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of anti-Semitism, specifically excluding portions that related to the ways anti-Israel activism can be seen as anti-Semitic.
The controversy itself is less hurtful to Landau-Pope than the reaction to it: Jews who denounce anti-Semitism in the party are being accused of undermining Labour and acting on behalf of Israel or of the Conservative Party.
Only this week, the Jewish Labour Movement, a Jewish group affiliated with Labour, has accused party leaders of trying to “censor” material it had planned on presenting as part of a discussion on the ways in which party members had crossed the line between anti-Israel rhetoric and anti-Semitism.

>> Opinion: ■ Orban Is a Clever anti-Semite. Corbyn Is a Stupid One ■ Jeremy Corbyn for U.K. Prime Minister ■ To Gideon Levy: Am I, Too, Part of a Jewish Plot to 'Take Out' Jeremy Corbyn?
Young Jewish supporters of Labour seem to echo the sentiment. Liron Velleman, the Student and Youth Councillor for the Jewish Labour Movement, ran in municipal elections in May 2018 as a Labour councillor in the Hendon area of London, which is 20 percent Jewish. “Every time we went campaigning, we were told by at least one Jewish family that they used to be Labour voters, but can’t while Jeremy Corbyn is leader.”
For Emily Otvos, her Jewish and Labour identities are intrinsically entwined: She is the daughter of a Labour councillor in North London, has been part of the Jewish youth movement since the age of 10. “I view supporting Labour of almost equal importance to my identity as being Jewish, and I find that the current situation forcing me to choose between these two parts deeply troubling and unfair.” She is still a member of the Labour party, albeit uneasily.
Jake Keisner, entering Cambridge in September and a camp leader in the Reform Youth Movement RSY-Netzer, agrees, noting that the situation leaves young British Jews without any real political options. The bungled Brexit negotiations and Islamophobia within the Conservative Party, he says, make it impossible for him to switch sides, but the inhospitable climate of Labour is equally problematic: “I’m squeezed into the middle, or a non-existent place.”
Jacob GoodmanTheo Goodman
Others believe the controversy surrounding Corbyn has been blown out of proportion. Jacob Goodman, who studies at Leeds University, says that the decision by the three biggest Jewish newspapers in the U.K. to write a joint editorial branding Corbyn “an existential threat” to Jewish life in the country, was "an unbelievable overstatement. What that is saying is that if Corbyn gets into power they're going to start rounding up the Jews again.”
At the heart of the controversy regarding the definition of anti-Semitism is Labour’s choice to adopt a code that does not hold, for example, comparing Israeli policies to those of the Nazis, or calling the Israel a “racist endeavour” or claiming that Jews are more loyal to Israel than their home country, to be anti-Semitic.
Failure to adopt the full IHRA definition is, according to Velleman, a “clear red line” for most Jews, who have accepted the organization’s code as a working definition of anti-Semitism. Conversely, he says, Corbyn believes the clauses would have stifled debate on Israel.
According to Velleman, one of the most “offensive” aspects of Labour’s conduct is that the party has blown off criticism by British Jewry as an attempt to defend Israel, while failing to take action against those accused of anti-Semitism through the newly adopted code.
“This is something the Jewish community will not forgive him for. The point of adopting the definition is that you take action with it. So if we don’t see people who should be suspended having action taken against them under the premise of the [new] code, there’s no point in passing it in the first place.”
Emily OtvosScarlet Stitt
Rather than trying to block criticism of Israel, Otvos contends, young British Jews from Labour are at the forefront when it comes to holding the Israeli government accountable for its actions. “We have led campaigns against illegal settlements, have used our power in Jewish youth movements to mobilize and release statements condemning what’s going on in Israel.”
Goodman, on the other hand, thinks Labour was right not to adopt the clauses linking anti-Israel criticism to anti-Semitism because they could create the feeling the party is stifling open debate: “The examples will make people resent Israelis and Jews, and think that there is a blockade on what you can say and what you can't say. It’s more of a cliche, but it’s better to have an open conversation.”
Brexit, minorities and the future
The increasingly tense political climate in the U.K. following the Brexit referendum has also put local Jews on edge. The 2016 referendum and its aftermath have polarized British society and since the vote, reported hate crimes have risen by 29 percent.
While Muslims have borne the brunt of racism in the U.K, for Landau-Pope, this atmosphere means that Jews should not only watch their own backs, but support other minorities as well: “While calling out anti-Semitism in the Labour party, we should look to our Muslim brothers and sisters and stand in support.”

He also says the the tense political discourse around Brexit, which has seen politicians from both sides being accused of being “saboteurs”, will have a longstanding toxic effect on British politics. Recently Corbyn critics from within Labour were accused of “indulging in coups and smears” by one party lawmaker, who said: “If it were not for the serial saboteurs we would have won the last election.”
Keisner feels that his sense of belonging in the U.K. has been weakened in the aftermath of Brexit. In his view, those who support the Brexit are part of a movement that is aiming for an exclusionary, Anglo-centric Britain. It calls into question the meaning of what it means to be British, he says, a conversation from which all ethnic minorities will feel excluded, and at worst, targeted.
Overall, there is an overwhelming pessimism among young Labour-affiliated Jews. Whatever the outcome of Brexit, there will be huge discontent, to which many will find simple, populist solutions, says Velleman: “And that in history has never gone well for us.”
Keisner thinks the future of Britain looks bleak. He says it probably lies with anti-Semitism-tolerating socialists or conservative elitists “who play monkey to a crowd of racists” - a reference to Boris Johnson, the ex-Foreign Secretary, and a possible candidate for the next leader of the Conservative Party who has been accused of stoking racial tensions with allegedly Islamophobic statements.
Keisner muses wistfully of what might have been if Ed Miliband, the Jewish former Labour leader, would have won the general election of 2015 against David Cameron: “There wouldn’t be Brexit, there wouldn’t be Jeremy Corbyn, and we’d just have a lovely, socially-awkward, Jewish prime minister.”
