Moses sought the invisible Christ

Hebrew 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king:
for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Many years back my WORD STUDY of the Word of God started with trying to
figure out when the word ‘Lord’ was mentioned, who exactly did it refer to?
Was it the Father, Son or the Holy Spirit?

At that time I had no knowledge of Hebrew or Greek languages and never
dreamt one day I would be able to learn them; it was then I just came to
know about Strong numbers wherein each and every Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek
word (with their renderings) are numbered. It was only by the grace of God
that He started revealing me things I would not even imagine. I was happy
He did not allow me to join regular Bible College for what I learnt from
Him would never have been acceptable to me.

The book of Hebrews almost totally addresses to the divinity of Christ and
today’s message talks of Moses and before that Noah and their relationship
with Christ.

As one learns the Hebrew language its alphabets are ideograms which
represent objects so when we take the name Yahweh written in scriptures as
YHWH is not a name but an ideographic description of who it was that spoke
to the Men of God in the OT. The word recodes as ‘Behold the Hand Behold
the Nail’ which directly speaks of Christ.

As I went into every word referring to God (including Baal/Baali which
means unknown God/god – sometimes also used for our God) I found that
scriptures in OT mostly spoke of the Son and the Holy Spirit as Lord, there
were very few scriptures that actually mentioned the Father directly. It
was only when the Godhead (divine oneness relationship between the Father,
Son and Holy Spirit) was slowly revealed that things became very clear to

So today when I read scriptures where Jesus did not allow people to worship
Him yet said if they did not lift Him up then there would be no salvation
for them, such scriptures are no contradiction and are very clear to me.
Also things like humbling of the God the Son from the foundation of
creation (even before man was created) hit me more than knowing His
sacrifice on the Cross (of which I know more details than most do). His
love was manifested to man on the Cross but the true extend of His love is
hidden from almost all mankind. It is only in the understanding of the
humbling of God to God the Son to the invisible Christ to the visible
Christ Jesus and knowing the plans God has for us mere man that we really
understand the love that God has for mankind. Let us not confuse study of
this with the heretic teachings of those who promote ‘Jesus Only’ nor on
the other hand fall into the trap of the Catholic Church doctrine which
says ‘Jesus is Lord’ but made Him a mere man god and a woman His mother in

Today in the morning as I got up I saw some photos of the man Jesus (as
illustrated by Catholic Church) and thought to myself would I one day have
the courage to throw them away knowing they are not of the Christ we
worship, we seek.

Today the Lord is asking us whom do we seek the visible Christ (including
one which the world has created) or the invisible Christ? He is asking can
we be like Josiah (2 Kings 23:1-25, 2 Chronicles 34:1-7) who pleased God.
Bible says God seeks those who worship Him in Spirit and Truth.

Let us from today have a relationship with the invisible Christ like Noah,
Abraham, Moses, David, Daniel and other in OT including Paul and other in
the NT did (Paul did not see the man Jesus even when He appeared to him).

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God and You alone are God for there is none other
than You. You are one and You are Spirit. Lord we pray more and more come
to know You and thus know the love You have for us. Lord we pray You give
us courage like Josiah the King that we bring down the deception and
spiritual adultery that is happening in your name...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Psalms 50:1 The Mighty One, God, Jehovah, hath spoken, And called the earth
from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

Malachi 2:10 Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why
do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the
covenant of our fathers?

1 Corinthians 8:6 yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all
things, and we unto him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all
things, and we through him.

Ephesians 4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all,

Colossians 1:3,15-20
3 We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying
always for you,
15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation;

things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or
principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19 For it was the good pleasure [of the Father] that in him should all the
fulness dwell;
20 and through him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace
through the blood of his cross; through him, [I say], whether things upon
the earth, or things in the heavens.

Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he [said], I am Jesus whom thou

Washing the feet – not act of humility but of righteousness

John 13:5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the
disciples’ feet, and to wipe [them] with the towel wherewith he was girded.

People mistake the act of Jesus washing of feet of His disciples as an act
of humility. They can only understand it if they put themselves in the era
of this happening and know the traditions/beliefs of the Jews.

For Jews washing is a very important tradition and belief. They follow
something like what Hindus believe today, they believed washing can wash
the sins of a person.

In the Bible the scriptures concerning washing of sins does not use the
regular Greek word used for washing but uses the word that refers to
washing / cleaning of a wound. Like in Baptism taking the dip does not
transform the person but starts the process of transformation so also
washing is an act of start of repentance. God had commanded in the OT that
any person who entered the Holy Place (symbolizing Heaven) without washing
their hands and feet would die; it had nothing to do with cleanliness but
with repentance. Without repentance no one can enter Heaven. In this
washing, the hands washing symbolize repentance of sin the person does
knowingly (deeds) and washing of feet symbolize repentance of sins one does
unknowingly (walk of life). The breaking of unleavened bread was one of the
sacrifices of Moses which was called the Sacrifice of Guilt (it included a
ram and Jesus was the ram which was slain for our sins).

Jesus gave His disciples authority to forgive sins when He said what we
bind on earth will be bound in Heaven and whatever we release on earth will
be released in Heaven. He confirms this when He said Son of Man has
authority to forgive sins (referring not only to Himself). So when any
person comes with repentance a Man or Woman of God standing in authority of
God can forgive the sins of that person.

Jesus could only wash their feet and not their hands for one has to wash
one’s owns hands by acknowledging the sins which are known to that person.
It is for this reason Paul says those who come in an unworthy manner to the
table of the Lord would suffer sickness and even death for mocking the
sacrifice. How can a person ask for forgiveness of sins which one has done
unknowingly when one has not repented for sins one knows. Repentance and
asking God for forgiveness is not about simply saying sorry but requires
the person to do good to that person sinned against. A heart full of hatred
or envy can never receive forgiveness by simply saying ‘sorry’ and not
getting rid of the hate or envy.

Jesus’ washing the feet was an act of righteousness which we all who
believe in Him and follow Him are called to do. We need not do the natural
act of washing the feet (the Apostles also did not) but we are called to
pray over people or break unleavened bread with them for the forgiveness of
their sins. It is this sacrifice which is called also the ‘Daily Sacrifice’
indicating the frequency at which it needs to be done.

Yesterday at service the Preacher asked ‘how many times does God forgive
The answer lies in the prayer Our Father, where it says the Lord ‘gives us
our daily bread and forgives our transgresses’. Forgiveness needs to be
sought daily like we do for food.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Awesome God. You Father are Merciful. You Lord forgive those
who approach your Throne of Grace, repentance is an act that cause us to
approach your Throne of Grace. We pray Lord we learn to repent daily for
the sins we committed and receive forgiveness from You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, what things soever ye shall bind on
earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things soever ye shall loose on
earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Job 1:4-5
4 And his sons went and feasted [in their] houses, every one his day; and
sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
5 And it was so, when the days of [their] feasting were gone about, that
Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered
burnt offerings [according] to the number of them all: for Job said, It may
be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job

Daniel 8:11-14

Exodus 30:19-21
19 For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:
20 When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash
with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to
minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:
21 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and
it shall be a statute for ever to them, [even] to him and to his seed
throughout their generations.

Numbers 6:16-18
16 And the priest shall present them before Jehovah, and shall offer his
sin-offering, and his burnt-offering:
17 and he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto
Jehovah, with the basket of unleavened bread: the priest shall offer also
the meal-offering thereof, and the drink-offering thereof.
18 And the Nazirite shall shave the head of his separation at the door of
the tent of meeting, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation,
and put it on the fire which is under the sacrifice of peace-offerings.

1 Corinthians 11:26-31
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye proclaim the
Lord’s death till he come.
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat the bread or drink the cup of the Lord in
an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man prove himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink
of the cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh, eateth and drinketh judgment unto
himself, if he discern not the body.
30 For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.
31 But if we discerned ourselves, we should not be judged.

Glory of Judah - David - Jerusalem

Zachariah 12:7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the
glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem
do not magnify [themselves] against Judah.

A few days back my daughter who studies in a Catholic Convent School came
to me for inputs on a drawing which her teacher had assigned her class. She
was to draw objects which were considered ‘holy’ according to the Catholic
belief. I explained to her holiness is not an attribute that can be
acquired by objects but only by living beings, that too not animals or
plants but only humans and the beings of Heaven for these alone are created
in the image of God. Holiness is all about perfecting the image of God in
oneself since God alone is Holy. So even when God said ‘Holy Mountain’ or
‘Holy Land’ He did not mean the mountain or land but the Hebrew words means
lifted up and nations / people respectively. Similarly glory is also not
connected to objects but only living beings the objects are symbolic.

Today’s message talks of the glory of the tents (tabernacle) of David and
of Jerusalem and compares them to the glory of the tabernacle of Judah. If
we analyze the scripture Jerusalem being a place is equated with the glory
of David and that compared with the glory of Judah. If we take the
characters then this scripture does not make logical sense, but when we
take the meanings and the symbolism of the words then it does make perfect

Judah – praise – symbolizes those who glorify/praise the Lord – do His
Jerusalem – peace – symbolizes those who make peace with the Lord – those
who believe in Him (in scriptures this word is written in two ways, one
symbolizes those who truly make peace and the other the false peace seekers
– those who use God for worldly desires)
David – beloved – symbolizes those who are loved by the Lord – those who
are called by Him

John 3:16 says God so loved the world that He gave His only Son as a
sacrifice so that those who (truly) believe in Him are saved. So all are
loved but from them only a few respond and make peace with God via Jesus
Christ the Peace Sacrifice. And from these a very few actually do the
mission of the Father and glorify Him (praise Him). So from the tabernacle
(Church) of David comes Church of Jerusalem and from Jerusalem come the
Church of Judah (true Church of Christ - sheep); remaining are the false
Church (goats).

Today’s message says the Lord upholds the glory of Judah (the True Church)
and will never let them down. Their glory will always exceed the glory of
Jerusalem and of David.

[Prayer Starter]
Father God You are Holy God and the only Holy One for in Heaven You are
glorified by shouts of Holy, Holy, Holy. In You alone is perfection
complete. A part of You gave up the glory and humbled Himself to become man
so as to lift us up to receive holiness. We pray Lord we understand unless
we do not transform from within and glorify You there can never be holiness
and we cannot be counted in Judah. We pray we do be satisfied being in
David or in Jerusalem but seek Judah...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

3 And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and heaped up silver as the

this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised

Completion of Good Works

Philippians 1:6 Being confident [trusting] of this very thing, that he
which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of
Jesus Christ:

Many so called Christians especially Catholics think that social work or
serving the weaker and deprived of society are the good works the Lord has
called us to do. If we look at Acts 9:36 it speaks of a woman named Tabitha
/ Dorcas who is said was ‘full of good works and almsdeed’. Here her social
service and her good works are differentiated and not grouped together.

No doubt we are called to reach out to those who suffer in the natural but
our concentration should always be on those who suffer spiritually. It is
for this reason the Apostles got those who were growing spiritually to do
the social works while they themselves concentrated on spiritual works.

When Jesus spoke of Judgment Day where we will be judged if we fed the
hungry, quenched the thirsty, sheltered the homeless or clothed the naked,
has less to do with the naturally hungry, thirsty, homeless and naked but
more to do with the spiritually hungry, thirsty, homeless and naked. If we
shelter a homeless would we not clothe them, feed them and quench their
thirst? When we understand discipleship these are the very things that are
needed to make a person a disciple.

In today’s message we find Paul does not use the word of confirmation
(confidence) as mistranslated in English but uses the Greek word peitho
which comes from the root word ‘trust’. In some translations it is also
translated as persuading. So even though we are knowing the Lord we are not
sure of our salvation until the good work the Lord has started in us is
completed. This good work may happen in a short time or may take a long
time and that depends on our heart condition. We may think people like
Church leaders are good people from the outside but when one sees them
through spiritual eyes one will see even hardcore criminals are easier for
the Lord to work on than these.

Giving alms, doing social work, praying and fasting which are good things
are surprisingly used by people to hide their hardened hearts. It is really
shocking to see many people use a thing like praying to keep God away /
grieve the Spirit. God calls their prayers as blabbering with hands lifted
up that are full of blood. These people spiritually destroy others but show
themselves as pious on the outside.

Let us fear God and remember He does not give importance to our exterior
but gives importance to what we are internally. Let us work on the person
inside when ministering others as God works in us.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Holy God. You are Spirit and You Lord desire us
to be holy in spirit and not in appearance. We pray Father we do not try to
fool You with external works or by our ritualistic prayer and fasting but
understand You know the desires of our hearts and hear them even before we
open our mouth when we walk in your ways. We pray we open our spiritual eye
and see the real us...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 9:36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which
by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and
almsdeeds which she did.

good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.

Acts 6:1-4

there arose a murmuring of the Grecian Jews against the Hebrews, because
their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

said, It is not fit that we should forsake the word of God, and serve
3 Look ye out therefore, brethren, from among you seven men of good
report, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this
4 But we will continue stedfastly in prayer, and in the ministry of the

of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of
the world:

Testing of self and of works by fire

1 Corinthians 3:12-15
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious
stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it,
because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s
work of what sort it is.
14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive
a reward.
15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself
shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

One may have heard the term ‘straw man argument’. It comes from children
rhyme ‘there is a hole in my bucket’. The rhyme is about finding a
solution to fix the hole in the bucket, it calls for the use of straw and
use of a bucket to fill water but since there is a hole in the bucket the
solution goes in a circle. The problem here is the assumption of existence
of only one bucket.

Salvation and works seems a circular logic. Salvation is not by works yet
works is required to confirm one’s salvation. Here too if we consider
existence of only one kind of work then it becomes a circular logic.

Works of righteousness are different from works of faith. The root of
salvation is faith. It is only by grace we are saved and this grace we
receive by our faith and not by works of righteousness. Works of faith on
the other hand confirm our faith and keep us rooted in grace and salvation.
No faith, no grace and thus no salvation.

Paul, Peter, James and even Jesus spoke of the importance of ‘good works’.
These good works is about showing the love and compassion of the Father
unto others, it also includes doing the mission that Christ gave unto us.

Like said before these works do not save us they simply confirm our
salvation, so less or more does not matter but the quality of work does
affect our reward in Heaven. If we preach to people but do not build them
in Christ and they turn out to be goats instead of sheep then we do not
receive any reward for that. The more we build others in the Lord the
better reward we receive. The question comes are rewards necessary?

One need to firstly understand Heaven is not a flat place, it has levels
and Paul speaks of 3 levels of the Upper Heavens (translated as Third
Heaven) where the glory of God is enthroned. So let us not just desire to
go to Heaven but seek to receive the high crown (higher levels) of Heaven.
The secret is not in the quantity but in the quality. Quantity does matter
but large quantity without quality is just waste, on the other hand quality
with less quantity is better.

The Lord has been telling us since these few days to open our eyes and
concentrate of building Disciples for the Lord and not just Believers. Let
us not wake up on Judgment Day finding all those whom we bought in the Lord
were goats and none were sheep. We may be saved due to our personal faith
and personal walk (test by fire) but then we will land up in the lower
levels of Upper Heavens and not nearer to the Throne of Glory. In Heaven do
not be surprised to find top TV Preachers experiencing this while unknown
people getting the high crowns.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Holy God and the Heavens are a Holy place. Lord we pray we are
not deceived into vanity. We pray we concentrate on giving our best, not
just in quantity but more in quality. We pray we do not seek our own fame
and glory but seek your Nature / you Name...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished
unto all good works.

Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to
good works:

1 Peter 2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that,
whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by [your] good works,
which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all
iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to
me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a
crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling
of God in Christ Jesus.

Can God be troubled?

John 13: 21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and
testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall
betray me.

It is a good thing that people from other religions are spiritually unwise
else most of the Christians would not be Christians. Once in a while a
person like Ahmed Deedat comes along who is not really ‘wise’ but cunning
and causes many Christians to fall and give up Christ. Even today his
videos are used to cause even people like Bible teachers of colleges to
give up Christianity and accept Islam.

Today’s message is one of the arguments that Islamic Dawah (debaters -
equivalent to our Apologist) use. If Jesus is God then how was He troubled
in spirit? They quote scriptures from OT where God says He ‘repented’,
their argument is - God is all knowing and omnipotent so then how can He
repent or make mistakes?

The problem lies with us that we as Believers believe a lot of Catechism of
the Catholic Church which are not Biblical. We imported mythological/pagan
terms like ‘incarnation’, ‘trinity’ etc. via the Catholic Church into
Christianity to explain things we do not understand and thus distorted that
which we tried to understand. If these are taken for discussion immediately
the person is branded as ‘heretic’. Fools do not understand the Greek term
‘heretic’ means ‘one who chooses one of the many options to suite one’s

All scriptures have only one meaning or one interpretation which is right.
There are many applications of a scripture but interpretation cannot be
many. It is our lack of understanding that causes us to have lesser or
wrong interpretation of a scripture. Lesser understanding is not the
problem but wrong understanding is. If we go by the truth almost all
preachers will stand being branded as ‘heretics ‘for almost all quote each
other without themselves studying the scripture in its depth. I can give
many examples which will cause them to blush.

It is only in the understanding of who the Lord Jesus Christ was, is and
will be that we can understand why as man He was troubled. Even in the OT
we need to know who the Lord was that said He repented.

God is a divine being, who is Omnipresent, Omnipotent and full of Wisdom
that cannot be measured. He does not repent nor be troubled. The Lord Jesus
Christ as man did all things like any human including getting troubled and
repent to show us He as man was fully man. So when He said He overcame it
gives us an assurance we too can overcome.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God, You are omnipresent and omnipotent. There was
nothing, is nothing and will be nothing that is not known to You. Your Word
says a part of You gave up your glory, humbled Himself and became a mere
man lower than the Angels. Lord we pray we understand your sacrifice and
know to what level You went to save man...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it,
that the works thereof are evil.
8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time
is not yet full come.
9 When he had said these words unto them, he abode [still] in Galilee.
10 But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the
feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

John 12:27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me
from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also
in me.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have

overcome the world.

Can one death save millions or billions?

John 11:50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should
die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

There is a famous scriptures which every Christian confesses ‘Christ was
bruised for us’, ‘He died for our sins’, ‘He paid our price on the Cross so
that we are saved and receive eternal life’...

When these are put to a non-believer or even when a believing Christian is
further questioned ‘how?’, almost all fail to correctly explain how, for
most do not study the OT. They will rattle scriptures from the letters of
Paul not remembering that Paul spoke only milk since his people did not
have spiritual discernment.

The punishment that Jesus bore on His crucifixion as shown in the movie
‘Passion of Christ’ is not even a percentage of that which actually
happened, yet can that punishment justify the sins of all those who believe
and saved? The point is not about how much but about who bore it.

In Philippines and other countries during the Passover we see insane people
carrying wooden crosses and at times crucifying themselves on it to imitate
the crucifixion of Christ. They want to bear a part of the punishment
Christ bore!

There is a simple situation I put forth, if there is a million people in a
room who are set to damnation and there is one exit which is locked. How
many people would it take to open that locked door and set the people free?
Answer is just one. The problem is the requirement is about perfection that
is required in that person to become the key that opens the door. Jesus
became that man who opened the door so that who so ever walks through it
will be saved.

Let us understand how Jesus saved us so that we are confident of our
salvation and also we are sure if we have met the requirement to receive it..

[Prayer Starter]
Father God, You are an all knowing, merciful God. You Lord made a sacrifice
available for us even before we sinned. You knew man would not be able to
be saved unless You stepped in. We thank You Lord for becoming the
sacrifice Jesus Christ who opened the door of salvation and we also thank
You for His Spirit, who takes us through that open door...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 11:47-53
47 Then the high priests and the Pharisees had a meeting and said, What
are we doing? This man is doing a number of signs.
48 If we let him go on in this way, everybody will have belief in him and
the Romans will come and take away our place and our nation.
49 But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them,
You have no knowledge of anything;
50 You do not see that it is in your interest for one man to be put to
death for the people, so that all the nation may not come to destruction.
51 He did not say this of himself, but being the high priest that year he
said, as a prophet, that Jesus would be put to death for the nation;
52 And not for that nation only, but for the purpose of uniting in one
body the children of God all over the world.
53 And from that day they took thought together how to put him to death.

1 Corinthians 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for
hitherto ye were not able [to bear it], neither yet now are ye able.

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold
the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb
of God!

Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These
things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of
David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man

What is Truth?

John 18:38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said
this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him
no fault [at all].

In today’s world we have religions fighting one against another because
they strongly feel their belief is right while others are wrong and these
are called fanatics. We also have some who think all are right and each one
is looking at the same thing in different views and one will find these are
the lots who are mostly ignorant of the beliefs of any religion.

In today’s message we see Pontus Pilate who was the sixth Roman procurator
in the province of Judea and Samaria asks ‘what is truth’ and then goes on
to put forth his observation.

In Greek the word for truth is aletheia and it is a compound word of alpha
(symbolizing beginning) and lethes (meaning - no longer hidden) so means
something that existed and now is no longer hidden in other words truth
equates to revelation.

People confuse between fact and truth. Facts are based on the ones
knowledge or view of anything. Facts may not be wrong but if the situation
changes, fact too changes, truth on the other hand never changes for it is

Hope and trust are ones believe on facts while faith and authority are
based on believe in the truth. Man can never have knowledge of the truth
since his view is not absolute for he is bound in the dimension of space
and time, truth has to come to him from someone who has absolute knowledge
or view of things and is not bound by space nor time.

In Islam we find Mohammed who is the author of the Quran says to believe
him for the Quran says to. He goes into what called circular logic where he
is the authenticator of his own claims. In other religions like Hinduism we
find facts are not authenticated or verified but believed simply because of
mass appeal. Bible on other hand has God the Holy Spirit as its author and
this is confirmed only when facts are verified, like no contradiction
between any scripture even though they are written by more than 44 persons
over a period of almost 1700years where they speak on common things. Since
faith is believing in the truth we find there is nothing like ‘blind faith’
for truth has to be verified to be believed.

Bible says the truth is revealed by the Spirit of God (The Son) and He is
also called the Spirit of Truth. We may study scriptures and know facts of
the Bible but it is only the Holy Spirit who reveals the truth. Getting
revelation from the Holy Spirit does not mean having complete knowledge.
Although revelation knowledge coming from the Holy Spirit in parts yet it
does not change as it is revealed like in the case of factual knowledge but
is built on that which exist.

Every scripture in the Bible has one absolute meaning and not many
meanings. It may be used or applied in many ways but there is no many
meanings. The Greek word heresy or heretic is a person who considers many
means of a scripture and chooses one of them.

As we study scriptures let us at the same time seek the help of the Spirit
of God and ask Him to reveal the truth to us. Let us not believe anything
given unto us by man or spirit for God Himself says ‘test / taste and see
for He is good’. Discernment is a sign of maturity and only when we discern
/ verify that we know as factual or truth we grow spiritually.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Alpha and Beta, You are the beginning and You are the end of
all things for You are eternal. You Lord do not change so also does your
Word which does not change. Your Word says we do not receive for we lack
faith. Lord we pray we do not fall into heresy but have revelation
knowledge of scriptures so that we move from hope and trust to faith and

God of Anger

Romans 9:22 [What] if God, willing to shew [his] wrath, and to make his
power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to
{made for} destruction:

One may be taken back by the title ‘God of Anger’ I gave to today’s
message. We all know God as God of love, compassion, mercy but we forget
our God is also called God of longsuffering and patience which means He
delays punishment and keeps giving opportunity to change but does not hold
back the punishment if we fail to.

We always have been told God punishes when He is angry. In the OT we see
cases of God in His anger punishing. But when we go to the depth of
everything we see our God does not punish but they bought punishment on

Let me take the case of Hell where it is said there is this eternal fire
that burns and souls suffer it. When we go in the depth of its study we see
the eternal fire is the sins that are within the person and the soul
suffers it till one’s spirit life (which is in thousands of years). So if
we see Hell is a prison / pit where the person suffers one’s sins which
never dies until the soul does (second death).

Coming to the term ‘anger’. The Greek word for wrath/anger is Orge and
comes from the root word ‘to reach out and touch’ / in normal human terms
means to strike or smite a person. God is not a human to smite like man so
when He touches us the effect of His touch - destruction or blessing,
depends on our personal condition. If we understand this we will understand
why God moved Adam and Eve out of their access to Heaven / Eden (where the
Tree of Life is) when they sinned (got corrupted) so that they (including
us who were in them) do not suffer but are given an opportunity to repent.

When we pray we ask God ‘touch me’; do we introspect the conditions of our
hearts before asking God to touch us? We should thank God He did not touch
us every time we asked Him to. Our God is a God who desires to touch us, to
reach out to us, but in His longsuffering He holds back many a times
because we people are hard hearted lot.

So next time let us not ask God to touch us with a hardened heart but ask
Him only when our hearts are hearts of repentance so that we experience His
goodness and not His wrath.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Compassionate God who is full of Love. But You God are also
Righteous and Holy. No corruption can dwell before You. You God moved the
fallen angels from Hell and also corrupt man so as to give them a chance to
repent and change. You knew the fallen angels would not but man would so
You are helping man in that change. Lord we thank You for helping us
change. We pray we acknowledge who You are and always approach You with a
heart full of repentance, always seeking correction...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Isaiah 13:5 They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, [even]
the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

Jeremiah 50:25 The LORD hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth
the weapons of his indignation: for this [is] the work of the Lord GOD of
hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

Romans 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto
thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous
judgment of God;

Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in
the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the
mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast [them]
down to hell, and delivered [them] into chains of darkness, to be reserved
unto judgment;

Connecting in Ministry

Acts 18:2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come
from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded
all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.

Aquila was a former Jew who was born in the Greek city of Pontus which in
the modern era is the Black Sea Region of Turkey. Aquila with his wife
Priscilla had settled in Rome and were twice made to leave Rome. Today’s
message talks of the time when Claudius the Roman Emperor (41AD – 64AD)
commanded that all Jews leave Rome so Aquila and his wife moved to Corinth.
Josephus the historian does not record this incident but another known
Roman historian Suetonius, records in his book Life of Claudius, chapter 25
says, that “he expelled the Jews from Rome, who were constantly exciting
tumults under their leader, Chrestus.”

Earliest Christians were mostly former Jews and they were considered a sect
of Judaism and there were many sects in Judaism. People use to call early
Christian as ‘People of the Way’ since their way of life was different from
worldly people. Christian preachers would normally stay with former Jews
(Christians) whenever they moved to other cities.

Aquila and his wife were not practicing Jews but Christians, yet because of
their origin they were victimized along with the other Jews. On the other
hand Paul being a known former Jew was well identified as a breakaway Jew
so was persecuted by the main stream Jews and we see in Corinth the people
knowing Paul did not give him place to stay, so he had to hunt for one and
lastly got to stay with Aquila and his wife Priscilla who were also of the
same trade of tent making as Paul (they may have met in the market while
selling tents).

In my early 30s when I came to know about the truth I was upset why the
Lord bought me up in a Catholic family. I thought if I was born in a
Believer family I would have been a better Christian and may have been
active right in my early ages. But latter I realize my mission and the
harvest the Lord has given me would not have been achieved if I was not a
former Catholic.

Almost everything about us (not our doings) has a reason for the plans of
God in our lives. So let us not be upset what has happened but give thanks
to the Lord we did not remain there but He bought us in His light and we
can now be instruments to reach out to those who are still there.

I feel sad when I see Indian Preachers literally dying to go to countries
like US, Canada or other countries to minister to people there when God has
placed them in a country like India which has a great harvest. Let us do
the plans God has in our lives instead of doing our own and seeing no

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are an Awesome Almighty God. Your wisdom Lord is beyond measure
yet many of us humans try to advice You and correct You. Lord we ask for
forgiveness and correction in our ministries so that we do that which You
have called us to and not what we desire...

for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

Unholy flesh and holy flesh

Zachariah 2:13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up
out of his holy habitation.

When the term flesh is used in the Bible we see various mixed aspects to
it, for instance flesh is considered carnal and yet Jesus says if we do not
eat His flesh we will not have anything to do with Him.

Biblically flesh symbolizes the desires of a person. If the flesh (person)
is worldly the desires are worldly (carnal – worldly enjoyment) and if the
flesh (person) is righteous then the desires are godly. Bones on the other
hand symbolize the character / nature of the person. It is for this reason
in the case of Jesus, His flesh was bruised but His bones were protected.

It is very important we get ourselves to dwell in the Kingdom (rule) of
God, which is eat the flesh (desires) of Christ so that our flesh (desires)
becomes the flesh of Christ.

When such things are preached people tend to get a little taken back and
confuse between the real flesh and the symbolism. But when we get into word
study, the study of the Hebrew and Greek words and its meaning, then the
understanding is better.

The Hebrew word for flesh is ‘basar’ and comes from the root meaning
‘message’. Jesus said if we do not eat His message (flesh) we will not have
life in us and will have nothing to do with Him, it is His message that
gives us life.

We humans are like mobile towers broadcasting message which is either holy
or unholy. We being corrupt beings since sin corrupted us, by default our
message (flesh) is a corrupt message and that is what today’ message tells
us to keep our thoughts and our message silent before the Lord.

Understand being forgiven does not mean corruption restored but only means
the penalty taken away. Corruption can only be restored by restoration of
the Fruits of the Spirit that is why Jesus after paying the price of our
sins made it a point that we receive His Spirit who helps us overcome

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Holy God. You Lord alone are perfect and all beings lack,
including those who are in Heaven. It is only when we all are reconciled
unto You after Judgment Day that we will receive Holiness. Lord we pray
seek holiness and overcome the corrupt flesh that exist in us by consuming
your flesh...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 6:51,53
51 I am the living bread which came down out of heaven: if any man eat of
this bread, he shall live for ever: yea and the bread which I will give is
my flesh, for the life of the world.
53 Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except
ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have not life in

Where most of our Ministries and Preachers fail...

1 Thessalonians 1:6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having
received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit:

We have so many Ministries with Preachers doing great work and working very
hard yet we hardly see any growth of the Church. The same people visit the
preaching or sit in Church in the same place (literally) they neither move
spiritually nor physically.

Christ commanded each and every Christian to witness Him unto others so if
one Christian manages to witness Christ to at least one soul in a year,
even then our Churches would double every year. But what we see is that the
percentage of Christianity growth (excluding birth in the family) is hardly
1.4%. I am being generous since total growth globally (including Catholics)
is between 1.8 to 2.3%. That means all the Preachers put together, with all
their stage shows and the extravagant money they spend, they together only
manage to add just 1 soul every year for every hundred Believers.

The main reason of failure of our ministries is not that Preachers are not
preaching the Gospel and making disciples but that they are making
disciples for themselves that is why ministries are growing but not
Churches. They get people to follow them and not follow Christ. If any
person follows Christ then they themselves will witness Christ and bring
others to Him.

We are getting things wrongs from the alphabet A in the Church. The fact
that we have distorted the meaning of the word Church we have changed its
purpose. The Greek word ‘ekklesia’ does not simply mean ‘congregation’, it
is a compound word made of two words which mean a ‘group of people’ + ‘with
a mission’. If we understand the mission which Christ gave then a Church
should be meeting only to go out and not keep people in.

It is time Pastors / Preachers / Ministers of the Word cut off the
umbilical cords with those whom they are ministering and let the Holy
Spirit take over. Let us stop baptizing people in our name even though we
take the name of Jesus or of the Father, Son and Spirit. It is time to stop
being ‘gods’ in the lives of other Christians and let them know God.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are God. Lord we fail to know You for we are
more attached to people than to You. Lord we pray we have a one to one
relationship with You. We pray we lead others not to ourselves but to You,
let them know who You are and how nothing is impossible to You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

are of the house] of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

Prescription to overcome fear

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power,
and of love, and of a sound mind.

We see on TV various games like ‘Fear Factor’ wherein a participant is made
to overcome fear by daring to do the very thing they fear. Facing what a
person fears does help a person to some extend to overcome it but yet as
the situation or intensity changes the fear need to be challenge again at
that level. Simply facing one’s fear not the perfect solution to overcome

In today’s message Paul inspired by the Holy Spirit gives the perfect
prescription to overcome fear and that is power, love and understanding.
This recipe is not just spiritual but also natural and practical.

Let me take an example; before I had a fear of dogs because as a child I
was chased by dogs more than once so now when I got the opportunity I got
myself one. Today it is over a year and my relationship with dogs has
completely changed, my dog loves to sleep next to me on our bed, listens to
me immediately (even though she is untrained). This has happened not just
because I faced my fear (power) but more also because I have learnt to love
dogs, to understand them, their nature and their moods.

To overcome fear we need to have power, love and understanding. So if we
fear life/death (suicidal tendencies) we need to be ready for it, love life
and have a clear understanding of what life and death is. If we lack in any
one area we will always be struggling in that area. I took this example of
suicidal tendencies because yesterday a brother was talking to me on this
matter and today the Lord gave me this message. It is not only for him but
all who are facing this, or any such tough situation, you need to overcome
that fear with power, love and understanding. The Holy Spirit is always
there to help in these 3 areas and if you are having problems communicating
with Him, please do get in touch immediately with someone who does, nothing
is too difficult for our God is indeed God.

Mummification in Judaism

John 11:39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him
that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath
been [dead] four days.

In Judaism mummification is not called mummification but called embalmment
and as per records at times was a forty day process unlike the Egyptian
seventy day process where they started with taking out (partly) the brain
by making a hole near to the nostril openings and later taking out the
internal organs and filling the hollow body with spices.

In Judaism the oldest records of Jewish embalmment starts with Jacob at the
hands of Joseph’s servants, this helped carry the body through their long
return journey. Later it was for Joseph himself, whose bones (not
symbolically but completely) were later taken during the Exodus. The
Egyptian customs were modified and gradually watered down to embalmment
which was totally discontinued only a few hundred years back (AD 1700s).

The Jews (especially from northern Israel - Galilee / Samaria) initially
would dress it with expensive clothes and embalm the body. They would even
bury weapons of war used by the person or personal expensive objects that
were of no utility unto others. This is due to their misunderstanding of
scriptures from Samuel, Isaiah and Ezekiel. During the time of Jesus, 3
days the person’s body was partially (externally) embalmed, wrapped and was
available for visit. It was only at the end of the third day that they
would do the excessive embalmment and seal the tomb. The three day wait was
kept because some people who were declared dead later woke up after a

In the case of Jesus before placing His body in the tomb they had embalmed
it externally and wrapped it with linen cloth. Mary (who was from Galilee
where these customs were strong) and her team had not got the time/space to
do much since the events to the crucifixion happened quickly, 5 days from
Jesus getting arrested on Saturday (Jewish Sabbath) evening after
celebration the start of feast of week of Unleavened Bread and Paschal week
(the Jews celebrated both together from Babylonian times). Jesus fulfilled
scriptures of being the Paschal Lamb that was observed for 5days where He
did not speak a word even though He went through great torture, especially
at the hands of the Romans. He was crucified on Thursday evening for Friday
was the Paschal Feast (High Sabbath).

The Mary team (women – there were at least 3 Marys in this team) after
placing Jesus’ body in the tomb started preparing spices for the next
process which they would need on the third day. In Jesus’ case no one was
allowed to visit the tomb due to security reasons, the stone was rolled on
the first day itself while for Lazarus it was done on the usual third day.
It was for this reason Martha confirmed the state of the body with
confidence even though they had wrapped it with spices. In Lazarus’ case
they used proper burial cloth bands like the Egyptians did. Jesus’ weeping
at the tomb of Lazarus was not for his death (Jesus came there to resurrect
him and planned it from the time He knew he died) but wept seeing all the
vain customs that they did (including the hired mourners).

The Lord is telling us our lack of understanding of scriptures and our
faith in worldly people more than in God causes us to do things that are
vain and foolishness before God. We may not be doing embalmment but even
today we do things with regards to the dead which are foolish, like
dressing the body in suites (expensive clothes) and placing it in expensive
coffins. Biblically we are called to simply wrap the body in a cloth and
burry it for quick decomposing of the body. Christians also foolishly
believe testimonies concerning the dead which are contrary to scriptures.

Let us not behave like children of darkness even though we know Christ, but
let us do all things with proper understanding of scriptures and the
Kingdom of God.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are calling God of the living and not
of the dead even though every spirit continues to live after its natural
death. Lord we pray we do not be or behave like children of darkness even
though we know the light...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

John 11:32-44

John 19:40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes
with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

Luke 23:55-56; 24:1-2
55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after,
and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.
56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the
sabbath day according to the commandment.
1 Now upon the first [day] of the week, very early in the morning, they
came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and
certain [others] with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

John 20:11-14
11 But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she
stooped down, [and looked] into the sepulchre,
12 And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the
other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
13 And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them,
Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid
14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus
standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

Caves, Groves and Grottos

John 11:38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave.
It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

In the Bible the first mention of a cave is when Abraham purchased one as a
burial place for his wife and later was also used for himself, Isaac, Jacob
and his wives Rebecca and Leah. Mostly the rich or the famous like Prophets
were buried in caves. In the Bible we see caves used as refuge place and
Abraham knew natural death was not the end of life he knew he would sleep
in the Lord for a moment and then have glory in Him on Judgment Day.

The Egyptians believed death as pathway to the after-life and their
understanding of life after death was an insane concept. They thought the
dead would arise in the flesh so they tried to preserve the flesh by
embalming the body and wrapped it in spices and bands. They knew the
necessary organs within the body would not last long so they removed them
and preserved them in jars. They thought the brain was useless therefore
left it as it is, but removed everything from eyes to heart, lungs,
kidneys, and other important organs.

Biblically cave was the end of natural life and not doorway (pathway) for
this life to continue into the next life. We read pagans in the Bible used
caves as pathways. Groves (Hebrew word means ‘pathways’ - made mostly of
trees) were used mainly to worship their gods (mostly goddesses). Soon
caves became groves (pathways) which today is called Grottos. Even today we
find idols kept in grottos both amongst Catholics and pagan religions.
Caves are important places of worship across worldly religions and
symbolize worship of the dead for them they are pathways. In Islam we find
Mohammed was anointed ‘prophet’ due to an incident in a cave (an evil
spirit tried to coke him and he was told by his Catholic uncle it was the
Angel Gabriel) and Catholics worship ‘Mother Mary’ (the spirit that comes
as the ‘mother of Jesus’) who seems to have appeared in a cave (in

Jesus grieved in Himself because the sisters of Lazarus used the cave not
as a burial place for the body of Lazarus but as a pathway for they had
partly performed the Egyptian rituals of the dead on him like many of the
Jews from Galilee / Samaria (northern Israel) did. Mary the mother of Jesus
also being from Galilee tried the same with the body of Jesus but due to
His resurrection on the third day, they could not complete the pagan
rituals due on the third day.

Let us understand everything worldly about us, our material riches, our
fame, our skills, our knowledge, our relationships (family and friends)
etc. all we leave behind here as we die. They may be as testimonies of
blessings or warning for people living in this world. So let us not seek
worldly things of the flesh for our spirit alone lives unto punishment
(suffer our sins) or eternal life in Heaven enjoying the glory of God.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Living God and eternal, there is no beginning nor end to You.
You alone have life within yourself and this You gave to your Son. We Lord
as your children do have the privilege to enjoy eternal life in You through
the Tree of Life which exist in Heaven. Lord we pray we understand the
difference between worldly life and spiritual life. We pray we seek more
the things of the spirit and not of the flesh...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Expectation of man

Acts 3:5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them..

In the night I had a very crazy dream of people attending a marriage. The
people are dancing and some small kids getting into a synchronized dance
which looked very cute. Soon the very little kids left the dance floor and
went near to the trees to break fruits by throwing stones at them. Suddenly
I saw the people staying nearby rushing to save their things. These very
small kids were joined by little bigger kids and now they were not throwing
stones at the fruits on the tree but to small kittens that were playing
nearby. What happened next was even more insane as the bigger teenage kids
joined them and now they were not stoning the fruits nor the kittens but
each other, that too very large stones which could easily kill them. When
asked why they were doing such an insane thing they said they were just
having fun. Suddenly the scene changes I see the city with a large number
of Christians and huge grand churches with even the poor (looking) people
coming in big cars. But as I peeked in one of the churches I find it almost
empty and dark with the Pastor sitting like a watchman.

Corrupt man in himself is insane and his priorities and desires only cause
disasters to himself. If God had to give man what he desires then mankind
would have been domed.

Yesterday’s message was telling us about prayer and today’s message of what
we seek. In today’s message the lame man carried by his family to the
temple entrance had only one desire of getting money so as to feed himself
and his family. What we see he received is something he did not expect or
dream of.

Let us not rush to God all the time for our worldly desires. Let it be
material things, relationships, medical things, etc. Let us trust Him for
our provisions and our protection. He said if He can take care of the birds
then why He would not do the same for us who are made in His image.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Merciful God. You God created us for great things
but due our corrupt nature we seek things of vanity things that cause our
destruction more than our edification. Lord we pray we transform our minds
and desires according to your heart and not ours...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 3:1-8
1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of
prayer, [being] the ninth [hour].
2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they
laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms
of them that entered into the temple;
3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I
thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted [him] up: and immediately
his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the
temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

they will scourge you in their synagogues;

cause them to be put to death.

endureth to the end shall be saved.

verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel,
till the Son of man be come.

also before my Father which is in heaven.

my sake shall find it.

Predestined or Foreknowledge?

John 12:38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which
he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of
the Lord been revealed?

There is a feeling amongst Christians ‘since God has chosen me to know Him
so He will take me through even if I do not follow Him and do things which
are contrary to what He has commanded of me’.

Christians know killing is a sin and so also is lying and robbing but due
to their believe in ‘predestined salvation’ they become licensed killers
(spiritually killing people) and Robinhoods even though they rob and lie to
mostly fill their own pockets (unlike the character in the story).

Ephesians 1 and Romans 8 is mostly misquoted to justify predestinated
salvation (Once Saved Always Saved). When asked about characters like
Judas, Balaam, Adam, Eve, first lot of Israelites who left Egypt (leaving
for Moses, Aaron, Joshua and Caleb) and other characters named by Paul like
Hymenaeus, Alexander and Philetus they give vague answers. All these were
not unbelievers but people who believed in Yahweh / Jesus Christ. Amongst
these Paul especially talks of Alexandra and Hymenaeus who misled other
believers with false doctrines. Alexandra having good orator skills was not
a match for even the knowledgeable Paul to confront in public.
Interestingly Hymenaeus preached on a false understanding of resurrection
similar to predestined salvation (OSAS) and both go against Judgment Day.

I have mentioned before Jesus said ‘He is the Way’ that means we need to
walk that way and since it is not easy to walk the way He gave us His
Spirit (Helper) who helps us walk the way. It is for this reason we need to
be baptized both in Jesus Christ and His Spirit. Jesus by His sacrifice
made available His Spirit so those who are baptized in Him receive the
promise of the Holy Spirit. It is baptism in the Holy Spirit which really
does the job of making one a Christian (one does not become a Christian by
simply believing in Christ but by following Christ).

The Greek word Baptizo translated as baptism comes from the word Bapto
which was a term used for dying of a cloth, so it does not simply mean
dipping or immersing but means being transformed to what we are dipped in
(baptized in). What is more interesting, no preacher tells you is that
Baptizo means repeated immersion, which means it is a continual process
which one goes through as a Christian until one transforms into the image /
Name of Christ (Father / Son / Spirit) which we are baptized in.

Today’s message talks of foreknowledge of God knowing who will believe in
Him and who will walk the way to be transformed. Bible says many are called
(those who believe) but few are chosen (who walk the way). Those who are
called but do not walk the way are termed as goats (which are greater in
numbers) and those who are called and walk the walk the way are termed as
sheep (fewer in numbers). It is the sheep who enter Heaven and not the
goats on Judgment Day.

Just because we believe in Christ let us not take God and Heaven for
granted. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 10 all who are fornicators,
idolaters, adulterers, effeminate, abusers of themselves with mankind,
thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers or extortioners will not enter the
Kingdom of God. After believing, repenting and being forgiven in Jesus
Christ if we still backslide and put on our former selves is there any
other sacrifice to save us?

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God who is all knowing and Almighty. Even though everything is
possible for You yet You desire a willing heart. Even though You know the
result yet You put man to test like You did to Abraham. Lord We pray we
hold on to your Spirit and surrender to His corrections...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Be careful of those who praise you

Acts 24:2 And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse [him],
saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy
deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,

In today’s message we read about the person whose name is Tertullus who is
set to accuse Paul before Felix the Roman governor. This Tertullus is
described as an orator bought by the High Priest Ananias to put forward the
case against Paul on behave of the Jewish religious people. What is
interesting is that Tertullus is a Roman fighting the case on behalf of the
Jews and furthermore his name means ‘triple hardened’. We also see
Tertullus being a master is his profession as orator starts with praises.

The religious Jews knew the best person to be used is someone from the
community. They also chose the perfectly right person who was hardened in
the heart. If we see even in spiritual warfare the same approach is taken.

Bible says we have the ‘old man’ (carnal part of us whom we are called to
crucify) and the ‘renewed man’ (part of us which is making efforts to
follow Christ), our spirit is strong and in command but our soul is weak
since these two fight against each other. It is our spirit which follows
one of the two and if it follows the ‘old man’ then we are deemed to vanity
(makes us goats) but if we follow the renewed man we mature into becoming
Sons of God and inheritors of God’s Kingdom.

Satan knows to destroy man or the Church the best candidate is one amongst
the Christians also one who is most hardened. Such people will be mostly
sweet talkers and man pleasers. They will praise for every silly thing and
reason showing themselves to be totally dependent on you but when the core
issues comes they will be your biggest foe not leaving a stone unturned to
attack you.

When people question or correct us let us not consider them to be our
enemies (finding faults and correcting is not the same). Let us remember
the most dangerous person to us is the one who is a “YES MASTER”. Most
Churches fail over a period because the leaders make people disciples for
themselves and not for Christ. They love the “YES MASTER” and these very
same break their Church instead of building it, they become the wolves in
sheep clothing devouring the flock.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Holy God. You alone are perfect and nothing in
all creation is. Lord we pray we do not fall prey to praises of man. Let
not our heart seek the things of the world. We pray for boldness to stand
for the truth and boldness to make corrections to ourselves. We prey we do
not follow our old man but the new man renewed in Christ...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Report: Trump can build the wall without congressional approval
December 28, 2018 by Jerry McCormick
Image via Chess Ocampo /
As the clock ticks nearer to a new year and a Democrat takeover of the House, Dems just got some bad news out of Washington.

According to two USA Today columnists, President Donald Trump does not need Congress’ stamp of approval to get his border wall built.

Democrat Obstructionists
Democrats have been fighting Donald Trump and the Americans who voted for him over the border wall since the day Trump took office.

Even though legislation has been on the books for decades, Democrats have refused to give in.

And even though Democrats like Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and even Barack Obama are on record demanding a border wall, they now act like they never said it.

The man leading the current block of border wall financing, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), used to stand on the dais regularly demanding more border security.

But today, he says it is immoral and refuses to work with President Trump to provide the funding needed for the border wall.

But as it turns out, there is plenty of money in our government to pay for the wall.

Better yet, President Trump does not need the cooperation of Democrat obstructionists to make it happen.

Shifting Money
When it became clear that the Democrats were not going to work with President Trump, the White House started to investigate pockets of funds available in various departments of the government.

Congress has already allocated a budget for border security of $1.6 billion.

But that does not include funding for the border wall.

In addition to that money, Trump still needs an additional $5 billion in funding.

If the president wants to use executive privilege, about 50 times that amount is available throughout the government, according to the columnists.

For example, the Department of Agriculture has several hundred billion out in loans.

Trump could authorize the sale of some of those loans to the private sector, then use that money for the border wall.

Because these loans are a source of steady income, it may not be the most popular decision with our elected representatives, but who really cares?

Would You Like to See Trump Build the Wall?
Elected representatives on both sides of the aisle have proven regularly they simply do not care what We The People want — but President Trump clearly does.

Build the wall, Mr. President, and give the American people that voted for you what they asked you for when they put you into the Oval Office.

Choosing the World over the Promised Land

Acts 7:12,13 But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent
out our fathers first. And at the second [time] Joseph was made known to
his brethren; and Joseph’s kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.

Yesterday I was debating in a Whatsapp group with some Calvinist who call
themselves Reformed Church, they believed in ‘Predertermined Salvation’.
They believe God beforehand had made His mind whom He would give the gift
of grace so as to save them. They also believe God orchestrates salvation
and even if the person sins God takes the person through and those who
backslide they believe were not genuinely chosen in the first place. These
teaching are today known as ‘Once Saved Always Saved and an excuse to allow
gratification of the flesh / sinning after becoming a ‘Christian’.

Coming to what Bible says:
God chose us from amongst the world to believe in Him (receive His Gospel).
He chose us for we had the seed of faith in us and He knew we would not let
it waste away (we are His flock). Those who repented and are found worthy
(sheep) will enter Heaven and enjoy eternal life but those not found worthy
(goats) who do not keep His Word / His Will, will not enter Heaven but will
be punished; they will not be punished for their sins but for rejecting His
Word / His Will. God is not a puppeteer but He is a potter a vineyard
husband, the clay needs to surrender in His hands and the vine needs to
bear fruit.

Amongst the twelve Apostles we find one failed. Amongst the twelve sons of
Jacob we see one did not go with him to seek the Promised Land and that was
Joseph. God did work wonders through Joseph and even made him a vessel to
save them when they experienced starvation due to a global famine. But we
see Joseph chose not to accompany his family to fulfil the Will of God that
Jacob and his son dwell in the Promised Land. We read Joseph died in Egypt
but his bones were carried to the Promised Land.

Today we who are travelers to the Promised Land (Heaven) speak the
testimony of Joseph (carry his bones), of how God worked in him. We talk
about the great things God did through him but ironically this Joseph chose
worldly fame over the Will of God. He did not want to sacrifice his fame
and worldly position for the Promised Land (Kingdom of God).

Let us understand even if God is doing great miracles through us it does
not mean we will enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23
many will take His name and even do great miracles in His name but since
they do not keep His (Father’s) Will He will refuse them entry to Heaven.

Let us get it into us, Christianity is not an easy journey and without the
help of the Holy Spirit (Helper) it is impossible for us to travel this
journey (thus both baptisms are necessary). We may have chosen Jesus as our
Savior who is The Way but if we do not travel that Way can we really say He
is our Savior?

Jesus said we will not be worthy of Him if we do not forsake this world and
do not lose our lives (worldly lives not necessarily our natural lives).

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and All-knowing God. Even though You know everything
and nothing is impossible yet You gave given us the choice to choose You
over vanity, You make salvation and choice and gave a Helper to those who
decide to choose You. Lord help us to forsake this world and the pleasures
of this world so that we are found worthy to enter your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many
wonderful works?

Faith depends on heart state

John 12:39,40 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said
again, He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they
should not see with [their] eyes, nor understand with [their] heart, and be
converted, and I should heal them.

Yesterday’s message did stun many and cause many to think about the faith
they have.

Hebrews 11:1 speaks of faith a substance hoped for and evidence of things
not seen.

When we say faith there are many levels to it and Hebrews 11:1 speaks of
the first level that is hope. Faith starts with hope and progresses to
trust and then to little faith, to faith and ultimately to authority. The
NT uses different Greek words for each level. Jesus was not called a man of
faith but a man of authority for faith in Him was perfect.

Faith in simple words means believing in the Word of God / God. True faith
is unshakable for God does not change nor does His Word. Faith is only in
Christianity for Word of God is understood only by Christians, what other
religions have are beliefs / hope / trust which are based on falsehood.

Today’s message is very interesting for it says faith is given or held back
by the Lord and that is why the people in today’s message could not
understand and they were blinded. The message says God ‘hardened their
hearts’. It does not say God made their hearts hard but the heart which was
hard God further hardened.

We receive the gift of faith (this will then grow as a fruit) according to
our heart state. It may not be visible on the external but God can see it.
So any person who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior has a
heart which the Lord found worthy. Now after they receive the faith they
still having control of their hearts can cause it to be hard like the first
lot of Israelites who left Egypt did by this they kill the Fruit of faith.
God called them stiff-necked and told them He would erase their names from
the Book of Life.

Keeping the faith (letting the Fruit grow) requires a lot of efforts and
this is achieved by exercising our faith – works of faith. Jesus Christ
gave us the mission to reach out and save souls so that we could exercise
our faith and save our own soul. Let us not go out doing the mission of
Christ thinking we are doing a favor for God but let us understand we are
working in a GYM where we are strengthening our faith and doing a favor for

To be saved one needs to be continually in Christ and to remain in Christ
one requires to keep the faith. If I reject Christ as Lord and Savior can I
claim to be saved? Paul says if we willfully keep sinning we are rejecting
the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and if we do that there is no other sacrifice
to save us; also we are more condemned than before for mocking the Lord’s

Bible says Word of God is not just vain words but has power thus the
Kingdom of God manifests with power. If we are Christians and the Word is
in us then how can there be no power manifesting through us?

Let us put our faith to test regularly so that it gets tested, grows and
manifests the power of God.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. We who are called to be your children too have
been given authority and power. We pray Lord we understand the power of
your Word that exist in us and may we exercise it and confirm our
inheritance in You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Hebrews 11:1-3
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of
God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the
knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Faith manifested

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the
works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he
do; because I go unto my Father.

We always confess the scripture ‘if we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ we
are saved’. What is ironic is many take acknowledging as believing and are
deceived to think they are saved.

Today’s message we see the Lord gives us a test to confirm if we truly
believe in Him and He says the things He did we too would do. This does not
mean everything Jesus did like raise the dead or walk on water we have to
do to prove believe but the purpose behind it according to the situation
and that purpose is glorify the Lord.

Today the lord is saying EVERY TRUE CHRISTIAN will do some or other miracle
or wonder which will glorify the Lord, and if the person says he or she is
a Christian and does not glorify the Lord then that statement is

Let us introspect ourselves lives and see if we are truly manifesting
Christ not only in character but also in power? His character if is truly
in us then it has to manifest power for there is power in His
Name/Character (WHO HE IS). He has said in the Old Testament I AM THAT I AM
and if WHO HE IS, is in us then like Jesus we shall manifest power and
glory of the Father.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Awesome God. Your presence Lord causes manifestation of your
power. Lord we pray You increase in us so that your power is manifested in
us. We pray people see You in us through the manifestation and say we are
truly your disciples...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Spiritual Junk food

1 Timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless {hyped} genealogies,
which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: [so

Junk food is very tempting and people know the more they have of it, the
unhealthier they will be. Junk food is not taboo but should be controlled.

In today’s message Paul equates mythology to junk food. Mythology is always
very attractive and study of mythological religions can be very enjoyable.

When I started to study Hinduism I thought it would be a very complex and
difficult thing. I could not understand where to start from and how to go
about with it. But as I approached it rationally I saw like all
mythological religions it too was a creation of writers and poets. Studying
mythology in deep is like studying what and why the characters in the story
did or did not do. Can any person put reason to such facts knowing they
depended on the mindset of the writer or writers?

Can a parent say to a child do not eat junk food when they themselves know
nothing about it leave alone tasted it? Children will always question their
parents and may not abide to their instructions if they are not satisfied
by their answers.

Apologetics is a very good branch of theological study. It is very helpful
to Evangelists and Teachers of the Bible to present the Truth. But the
interesting fact is one hardly sees any Apologist strong in faith, they are
as strong in faith as a weed of grass and one of the main factors of this
is junk food. Most Apologist get into too much consumption of junk food,
while they have very little or totally ignore spiritual healthy food.

Spiritual junk food can shake even the strongest person, we have an example
of C S Lewis who was so much attracted to Hinduism that he made a comment
he would have accepted Hinduism had he not become a Christian.

Let us be cautious of what we input into us and discern everything not
ignoring its potential to harm even if it looks harmless.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God and your Wisdom is beyond measure. Lord we pray
we grow spiritually by discerning everything we input into us through our 5
natural senses. We pray we avoid living on junk food and consume more of
solid spiritual meat...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Is God the God of the poor?

2 Corinthians 9:9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath
given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.

The Greek word ‘hairesis’ translated as ‘heresy’ occurs only four times in
the NKJV English translation although it actually occurs nine times and is
translated as ‘sect’ in other verses. Christians use it as a curse word
against another whose teachings they do not adhere to. People are branded
as ‘heretic’ and excommunicated.

What is interesting is I am yet to find a Christian preacher or teacher in
whose teaching I have not found heresy, in fact all of us carry some amount
of heresy!

If we go by it true meaning all denomination can be called heretics. The
word means ‘to choose’ of make a personal choice which is not in line with
the actual. Biblically the term is used to identify someone who twists the
truth (deliberately or without knowledge). There are very few deliberate
heretics but almost all fall in the innocent heretic category. Some of the
common heretic understanding most Christians believe is in ‘Once Saved
Always saved’, ‘Salvation without works (of faith – not righteousness),
‘Baptism of the Holy Spirit is unnecessary to go to Heaven’, ‘Spirit gifts
is passé’, ‘infant baptism’, ‘penance’...

Today’s message touches on one such heretic understanding which is ‘a
blessed person is one whom God blesses with worldly riches / God blesses
with worldly riches when His favor is on us’.

I have personally seem numerous people get spiritually destroyed when they
gain worldly riches. They may be ‘generous’ givers to Churches or the poor
but then the concept of robbing a bank and giving a share to the poor in
other words being Robin hood is not Christian. Even a person who honestly
earns but lives a life just to earn fails as a Christian.

Jesus warned not only once put repeatedly about the danger of being rich
and loosing salvation. He did not say all the rich will not enter Heaven
but said it was hardly possible for a rich to enter Heaven. A simple fact
is as spiritual children we tithe but as we mature in Spirit we give not
just ten percent but as to what the Holy Spirit leads us. God for whom
nothing is impossible initiated the concept of ‘Tithe and Giving’ more for
the giver and not for the receiver. It helps a person to overcome an
important area.

People misquote 2 Corinthians 8:9 without confirming facts. Nowhere does it
say Jesus was loaded with riches and thus became poor. Also Heaven is not a
place where beings use money or gold and silver in fact it is a spiritual
place; the description of precious metal and gems is only symbolic. The
scripture speaks of spiritual riches, about God the Son forsaking His
glory, humbling Himself and becoming man so that we would be transformed
and be partakers of His glory.

Let us not twist the truth / understanding of scriptures so as to feed our
carnal nature or out of fear not being able to face the truth. It is only
when we follow the truth, we are set free.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God, the Heavens are your abode. You are seated in
the High and our creation is your footstool. You Lord have bent down so as
to lift man that he may be partaker of your glory in Heaven. Lord we pray
we understand the dangers of greed the vice which caused Lucifer the highly
anointed Cherub to fall. We pray we distinguish between needs and desire
and learn to give...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

1 Timothy 1:15,16 This [is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all
acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom
I am chief [first]. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me
first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to
them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

In today’s message we see Paul in a self-realization mode and thus calling
himself the first amongst sinners.

To convict oneself and feel guilty are two different things and together
form self-realization. Conviction means to pass judgment, while guilt means
to stop defending oneself.

Self-realization comes in two steps one is guilt and two is conviction.
Unless we do not stop defending or justifying our actions we will not be
able to accept we are sinners and not worthy of the Kingdom of God and
convict ourselves like Paul does in today’s message. Paul does not stop at
self-realization but pursues change thus confesses mercy, endurance [long
suffering] and then unto salvation.

Paul confesses that even after his coming in Christ he still continued
making mistakes and doing things even though he did not want to. Paul
overcoming his weakness took time and his letter to Timothy is one of his
latter letters while in Rome.

Like Paul we may be battling weakness even when we are ministering but like
Paul we should not give into the weakness but battle it. It is only when we
persistently battle our weakness that we too will overcome like Paul.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Holy God. You Lord desire your children to pursue to be like
You so that they can mature in Spirit and be heirs to your Kingdom. Lord we
pray we self-realize like Paul and fight this good battle like Paul did so
that we too one day can be confident like him to be wearers of the high

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

for to will is present with me; but [how] to perform that which is good I

Let no man despise thy youth

1 Timothy 4:11, 12 These things command and teach. Let no man despise thy
youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation,
in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Today’s message is an important instruction by Paul. In today’s message the
Greek word translated as ‘despise’ speaks of having low understanding or to
think little. The scripture does not talk of the young in age, it does not
talk of thinking little of the youth. The scripture talks of our youth
irrespective of our ages; it speaks to the teens, young men and women and
also the aged for it says our youth in sense of spiritual.

Spiritual maturity is unrelated to natural maturity. One can be 12 years
old yet be highly mature spiritually, like the maturity Jesus showed in the
temple [although He went every year it took time for Him to externally
exert His spiritual maturity] where the learned elders were amazed to see.
Like we can be young and spiritually mature, we can also be aged and yet
spiritual toddlers.

The most important aspect of spiritual maturity is discernment. Discernment
is like natural teeth, it helps a person to eat solid food and more
nourishing food. Infants do not get a full set of whole teeth instantly,
even before the teeth are seen they start to bite or nib at solids,
spiritually we too need to do that.

Spiritual maturity is not just internal hidden thing, it is visible in our
mannerism, our behavior. What we do, how / what we speak, how we relate
unto others, what is our focus, how we dress and move are few things that
project our spiritual maturity.

Concerning our spirit-man or inner-man it has two areas of discernment, one
connected to our natural body and other to our spirit being. The natural
discernment connects to our senses like taste, sight, touch, hearing and
smell, these allow us to operate in the natural. With regards to our
spiritual side it is the Fruits and Gifts of the Spirit that pay the role
of operating the spirit. Like prophecy which is a spiritual gift but yet
used in that natural so also are the others.

In today’s message Paul instructs us to be cautious of our external factors
and how we project ourselves. Let us discern things not only in spirit but
also in the natural, let us use our spiritual and natural discernment so
that people do not think us to be spiritually immature.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Awesome God. You Lord are Spirit, You are Holy, Righteous and
True. We who are your children can claim to be so only if we project You
spiritual. Lord we pray we understand the importance of our worldly conduct
and how we relate unto others. May we not put your Name down by claiming to
be your children and behaving otherwise...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

custom of the feast.
46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the
temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking
them questions.
47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers..
48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him,
Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought
thee sorrowing.

1 Corinthians 3:1-2
1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto
carnal, [even] as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not
able [to bear it], neither yet now are ye able.

Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age,

both good and evil.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in
heaven is perfect.

He still does it.

Romans 9:18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will [have mercy], and whom
he will he hardeneth.

We read God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, that means God’s
nature does not change.

In the OT we read of the way the Lord handled people, especially His own,
He protected them from their enemies and destroyed their enemies. But when
His people when astray and did things like worshipping other Gods or doing
grave evil in His sight then the protector became the confronter and
punisher. The Israelites suffered more in the hand of the Lord than in the
hands of their enemies.

We also see not just the Israelites but many who were connected to them say
by relationship or acquaintances also saw the grace of God (received His
mercy) for example the father in Law of Moses, Ruth who was a Moabite...

The translation in today’s message has the two verbs ‘hath mercy’ and
‘harden’ in present active tense, so means the Lord is the same today and
even today He has mercy on whom He wills and hardens whom He wills.

This means we are like the Israelites of the OT and we need not worry or
fear our worldly enemies so much as we need to fear the Lord. Yes we need
to fear the Lord when we go astray from Him. We know He loves us extremely
but then His love will not let Him see us destroying ourselves and others
connected with us. He may even need to at times be the one to destroy us so
that we do not destroy those connected with us, like He did to the first
lot of Israelites that left Egypt and perished in the desert but their next
generation saw the grace and favor of God.

Yesterday our Church cell groups met to plan how to make use of this period
wherein we get to let people know the Lord; as we were praying and planning
the Lord gave a message Matthew 21:12-13 where He enters the temple and
overturns the tables and frees the birds and animals sold there for
sacrifices. He also drives away people who were doing this. These people
were simply making available animals and birds for sacrifice as required by
Jewish traditions. They did something religious yet Christ was upset with
them for they did without understanding. The Lord was telling not to use
His name and do things which are worldly. Let us not feast in our carnal
desires that too taking the Lord’s name.

Let us not think the love of God will cause Him to be a silent spectator,
He is the same God of the OT.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You are God who does not change. Even though You
grow from glory to glory yet You are the same forever. Lord we pray we do
not take your love and grace for granted. Let the fear of You cause us to
think what we do and why we do it. Let us not do the things of the flesh
taking your name and bring You to anger...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Exodus 32:9-14
9 And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it
[is] a stiffnecked people:
10 Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and
that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.
11 And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath
wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land
of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he
bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the
face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil
against thy people.
13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest
by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the
stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto
your seed, and they shall inherit [it] for ever.
14 And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his

Exodus 34:6-7
6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD
God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and
7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and
sin, and that will by no means clear [the guilty]; visiting the iniquity of
the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the
third and to the fourth [generation].

Deuteronomy 1:34-39
34 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware,
35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see
that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,
36 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I
give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he
hath wholly followed the LORD.
37 Also the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt
not go in thither.
38 [But] Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in
thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
39 Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your
children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they
shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess
