.A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Many people speak with tremendous authority from the depths of their self-induced ignorance and cannot see they are actually in bondage.

SIGNS - SUN, MOON, STARS
"When the LORD delivered the Amorites before the children of Israel, Joshua spoke to the LORD; he said in the presence of the Israelites: — Stand still, O sun, at Gibeon, O moon, in the Valley of Aijalon! — So the sun stood still and the moon halted, while the nation wreaked revenge upon its enemies.  Thus the sun halted in mid-heaven, and did not press on to set for a whole day; for the LORD fought for Israel .  Neither before nor since has there ever been such a day, when the LORD heeded the words spoken by a man." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 10. 12 - 14 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

When Joshua and the children of Israel encountered an alliance of nations under a leader who called himself, "Adoni-Zedek (lord of righteousness)."  However, the ONLY TRUE GOD WHO alone is righteous, defeated and crushed this pompous, egotistical heathen.  The SUPREME ONE fought for Israel by casting down large hailstones from heaven on them and there were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword. [Joshua/Yehoshua 10. 11]

As from the beginning, so will the end be, CREATOR GOD will again use the sun, moon and stars as signs of HIS return.  The UTMOST HIGH & LOFTY LORD GOD will thus commence HIS judgments on the unbelieving world.  "Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken." [Matthew 24. 29]  "The sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood." [Revelation 6. 12]  "A third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened.  A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night." [Revelation 8. 12]

The five kings who fought alongside Adoni-Zedek fled and hid themselves in a cave.  And Joshua and the men of Israel put their feet on the necks of these enemies, then killed them. [Joshua/Yehoshua 10. 16 - 24]  Likewise, in Revelation we see that "the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains and said to the mountains and rocks — Fall on us and hide us from the face of HIM WHO sits on the Throne and from the wrath of the LAMB! — For the Great Day of HIS wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" [Revelation 6. 15 - 17]

"Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe; Come and tread, for the winepress is full, the vats are overflowing!  For great is their wickedness.  Multitudes upon multitudes in the Valley of Decision ('Emeq Charuts)!  For the Day of the LORD is at hand in the Valley of Decision .  Sun and moon are darkened, and stars will withdraw their brightness.  And the LORD will roar from Zion , and shout aloud from Jerusalem , so that heaven and earth tremble; but the LORD will be a SHELTER to HIS people, a REFUGE to the children of Israel.  And you shall know that I the LORD GOD dwell in Zion , MY Holy Mount.  And Jerusalem shall be holy; nevermore shall strangers pass through it." [Joel (Yoel) 3. 13 – 17 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

In the chaotic world we live in today, we need not be afraid or dismayed.  However, we who are in MESSIAH Y’SHUA are to be strong and courageous knowing the KING OF GLORY will do the fighting for us.  "Then comes the end, when HE delivers the Kingdom to GOD THE FATHER, when HE puts an end to all [other] rule and all authority and power.  For HE must reign till HE has put all enemies under HIS feet.  The last enemy that will be destroyed is death." [1 Corinthians 15. 24 - 26]  We are more then conquerors — "for those who fear HIS NAME, the SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS shall arise with healing in HIS wings." [Malachi/Malakhi 4. 2]  It will be worth it all when we see our LORD, KING JESUS!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
The rest of love freely given — a rest of truth and sincerity — a rest in peace and tranquility, in quiet and safety — a perfect rest in which you find favor.  We bow the head and bend the knee and magnify the KING of kings, the HOLY ONE, praised be HE.  MOST HOLY ONE, YOU are blessed beyond all hymns, praises and consolations that may be uttered in this world.  Amen!  For compassion to be fully realized, it needs bonding.  It requires creating a channel between giver and receiver; a mutuality that extends beyond the moment of need. A bond that continues to live on.  That is the most gratifying result of true compassion.  Befriend the one you have compassion for, ensure that something eternal is built as a result of your compassion.  When things around you appear dark and terrifying, hold on to the promises of the LORD GOD.  HE is in complete control.  "The ROCK! — HIS deeds are perfect.  Yes! all HIS ways are just; a FAITHFUL GOD, never false, true and just is HE." Deuteronomy/Devarim 32:4
Have a peaceful, enriching day with the deliberate intention of blessing someone else.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
In BIBLICAL days prophets were astir while the world was asleep.  Today the world is astir while churches and synagogues are busy with trivialities. [Abraham Joshua Herschel]

WRITTEN BY GOD'S FINGER
"It shall be a sign for all time between ME and the people of Israel .  For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day HE ceased from work and was refreshed.  When HE finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai , HE gave Moses the two TABLES OF THE PACT, stone tablets inscribed with the finger of GOD." [Exodus (Shemot) 31. 17 - 18 Tanakh, Torah]

"All SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of GOD" [2 Timothy 3. 16], but this portion of SCRIPTURE was given by direct inscription of SOVEREIGN LORD GOD HIMSELF!  Moses testified, "The LORD gave me the two Tables of Stone inscribed by the finger of GOD, with the exact words that the LORD had addressed to you out of the fire on the day of the Assembly." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 9. 10 Tanakh, Torah]  "HE wrote down on the Tables the terms of the Covenant, the Ten Commandments." [Exodus (Shemot) 34. 28 Tanakh, Torah]  Thus, out of all the HOLY SCRIPTURES, GOD MOST HIGH chose to write this section, not through one of HIS prophets, but with HIS OWN finger!  It should, therefore, be taken literally and seriously.

It is also significant that these Commandments were structured around a weekly day of rest, remembering GOD'S creation week — six Days of creating and establishing everything in heaven and earth, followed by sanctified day of rest and refreshment. [Genesis/Bereshith 1. 31 - 2. 3; Exodus/Shemot 20. 8 - 11]  Ever since the creation, people have observed a weekly calendar.  The seven-day week (unlike the day, month, and year) has no solar basis at all.  People keep time in weeks simply because THE MASTER CREATOR did!  After each day of creation, GOD declared that there was "evening and there was morning" — but the seventh day was blessed and sanctified, and the phrase "evening and morning" was not declared. [see Genesis/Bereshith 1]  The reason — when we rest IN HIM, GOD gives us an unlimited, continual Sabbath.

"The Sabbath was made for man" —the LORD Y’SHUA declared. [Mark 2. 27]  Since the MOST HOLY ONE considered the truth of the Literal Creation Week so important that HE inscribed it HIMSELF, we should believe this portion of HIS WORD first of all. . . then follow through by believing everything else HE has told us, and obey (do, observe, follow totally) HIS commands that we might live.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Welcoming Sabbath Lech Lecha - "Go Out” [Reading: Genesis 12:1 - 17:27; Isaiah 40:27 - 41:16; John 8:51-58]  "You shall call the Sabbath a delight." [Isaiah/Yeshayah 53:13]  Those who keep the Sabbath and call it a delight shall rejoice in GOD'S Kingdom.
For the TORAH, for the privilege of worship, for the prophets, and for this Sabbath day, given us for sanctification and rest, for honor and for glory, let us thank and bless the LORD our GOD.  Blessed are YOU, our LORD GOD, WHO sanctifies the Sabbath, Israel and all who love YOUR PRECIOUS SON, Y’SHUA the WORD made FLESH.
It is a mitzvah to hallow Shabbat by setting it apart from the other days of the week. . .Shabbat must be distinguished from the other days of the week so that those who observe it may be transformed by its holiness.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Knowledge is what you remember after you forgot everything you learned.

PROPHECY SPEAKS
"I will raise up for them a PROPHET for them from among their own people, like yourself; I will put MY words in HIS mouth and HE will speak to them all that I command HIM." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 18. 18 Tanakh, Torah]

There are two types of prophecy which must be distinguished.  When a prophet foretells (predicts), he represents the future in light of the present.  When the prophet tells-forth, the message is for rebuking, reproving, counseling, or admonishing.  One tells the present in light of the future, while the fore-telling is for a time to come.

So, it is the predictive type of prophecy that provides such a strong argument for faith based on reason.  Neither human intuition about the future nor limited Satanic control of the future can account for the hundreds of specific BIBLICAL prophecies that have been literally and specifically fulfilled.  These could only come by DIVINE revelation from the HOLY ONE WHO knows and controls the future.

Predictive prophecy provides an infallible defense, as it not only proves the DIVINE origin, inspiration, and authority of SCRIPTURE, but since over half of the prophecies converge on the PERSON and work of the LORD Y’SHUA ha’MASHIACH, it endorses and supports both HIS deity and LORD-ship.  One cannot honestly and truthfully read Psalms 22, Isaiah 52:13 & 52:12 without recognizing that these are prophetic portraits of MESSIAH on the cross.  Numerous other texts specifically deal with various aspects of Y’SHUA’S life, characteristics, segments and phases of HIS perfect life and ministry.

The coming Kingdom that CHRIST JESUS will set up is detailed in other prophecies, in which we as believers will have a part.  With so many prophecies accurately fulfilled already, we can have complete confidence that all the other promises will also come to pass, and that very soon.  How very amazingly wonderful to know that "we are children of GOD; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when HE is revealed, we shall be like HIM, for we shall see HIM as HE is.  And everyone who has this hope in HIM purifies himself, just as HE is pure." [1 John 3. 2 - 3]

These things were written "to you who believe in the NAME of the SON OF GOD, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the NAME of the SON OF GOD." [1 John 5. 13]  You have to believe it to receive it!

Sha’alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5!
As we bid farewell to Shabbat with the Havdalah Service.  Havdalah (separation) is the ceremony that marks the symbolic end of the holy day of Shabbat and ushers in a new week.  The ceremony, consisting of lighting the special candle, blessing the wine, and smelling the spices, is intended to require a person to use all five senses taste the wine, smell the spices, see the flames of the candle and feel its warmth, and hear the blessings.  After the ceremony, it is customary to wish each other "Shavuah Tov — have a good week."
Thus we celebrate the LORD GOD OF ISRAEL WHO separates the sacred from the mundane and forgives our sins.  May it be YOUR will, O LORD, that our home becomes a sanctuary worthy of YOUR PRESENCE, wherein YOUR HOLY NAME is hallowed, that YOU come and grant YOUR blessings on us!
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Work harder at being what you should be rather than at hiding what you really are.

LIFE IN THE BLOOD
"For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for your souls upon the altar; it is the blood, as life, that effects expiation for the soul." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 17. 11 Tanakh, Torah]

From Exodus to Revelation, blood is absolutely essential for the remission of sin.  HOLY SCRIPTURE expressively tells that innocent shed blood is the penalty that must be paid to remove the guilt of our transgressions and provide us with a clear conscience before our RIGHTEOUS MAKER.

"According to the Law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission." [Hebrews 9. 22]  It is only because of the precious, shed blood of our SAVIOR, MESSIAH Y’ESHUA, that we can stand before our HEAVENLY FATHER, since "the blood of JESUS CHRIST HIS SON CLEANSES us from all sin." [1 John 1. 7]

Even while we were sinners, the LORD JESUS died for us that we can now be "JUSTIFIED by HIS blood" [Romans 5. 9] "having made PEACE through the blood of HIS cross." [Colossians 1. 20]  We "were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold — but with the PRECIOUS blood of CHRIST, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." [1 Peter 1. 18 - 19]

Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH "loved us and WASHED us from our sins in HIS OWN blood." [Revelation 1. 5]  We were "PURCHASED with HIS OWN blood" [Acts 20. 28] and "we have REDEMPTION through HIS blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of HIS grace." [Ephesians 1. 7; Colossians 1. 14]  All praise to the WORTHY LAMB for by HIS blood, HE has "REDEEMED us to GOD." [Revelation 5. 9]

Moreover, Y’SHUA is effectively and well-able to "SANCTIFY the people with HIS OWN blood" [Hebrews 13. 12] as there is infinite, eternal power "through the blood of the EVERLASTING COVENANT." [Hebrews 13. 20]

"And they OVERCAME him (ha'Satan/the Devil) by the blood of the LAMB and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." [Revelation 12. 11]  This is the last time the blood of the LORD JESUS is mentioned in HOLY SCRIPTURES.  Here, the blood is what enables the believers to overcome and withstand the deceptions and accusations of Satan.

At the Seder of Passover, the LORD Y’SHUA said, "this is MY blood of the NEW COVENANT, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." [Matthew 26. 28]  Forbid that anyone should ever "count the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing" [Hebrews 10. 29] in view of the fact that the blood of MESSIAH Y’SHUA is forever incalculably priceless, blameless, infinitely precious, justifying perfectly, transforming, eternally cleansing and fully sanctifying.

The priceless, precious blood of JESUS, the LORD & KING still washes the stains of sin away; and by it, we can stand cleansed in the GLORY OF HIS PRESENCE.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Praised are YOU, O LORD GOD, for great is YOUR love for us and YOUR compassion boundless.  Be gracious to us that we may understand and fulfill the teachings of YOUR HOLY WORD.  Enlighten our eyes in YOUR Law that we may cling to YOUR commandments.  Thank YOU for YOUR saving power, for from YOU comes our help.  Draw us nearer to YOU to serve YOU in faithfulness.  Joyfully, we lift our voices and proclaim YOUR PRECIOUS NAME.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Nothing is so bad it can’t get worse.

PITCH YOUR STANDARD
"The Israelites shall camp each with his standard, under the banners of their father's house; they shall camp around the Tabernacle of Meeting at a distance." [Numbers (B’Midvar) 2. 2 Tanakh, Torah]

The use of flags, standards, or ensigns to represent nations or other groups is first referenced here in connection with the standards that were pitched by the camp of each of the twelve tribes of Israel during their time of marching through the wilderness. [Numbers/B’Midvar 1. 52 – 2. 34]

On the east side was the standard of the forces of Judah, Issachar and Zebulun — the Lion (KING) — this camp was first to go forth.

The second standard — the Man (SON OF MAN) — was on the south side of the Tabernacle which included Reuben, Simeon, Gad.

On the west the standard was the camps of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Benjamin — the Ox (SERVANT).

And, the north standard — the Eagle (SON OF GOD) — was the tribes of Dan, Asher and Naphtali.  The whole company of the Levites was in the midst of the camps; as they camp, so they moved out everyone in his place by their standards.

Those who follow Y’SHUA also have a standard to live under — that STANDARD (BANNER OF LOVE) over us is the very character of the ONE WHO is the "CAPTAIN of their salvation." [Hebrews 2. 10]  HIS GUIDE BOOK for us is the WRITTEN WORD OF GOD, which is crucially essential information "so that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before." [Joshua/Yehoshua 3. 4]  It persuades us to "endure hardship as a good soldier of JESUS CHRIST.  No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier." [2 Timothy 2. 3 - 4]  Through faith and a good conscience you can wage the good warfare and fight the good fight of faith.

As faithful followers of the LORD Y’SHUA ha’MASHIACH, our GREAT STANDARD BEARER, we must continually seek to "know the mind of the LORD" [1 Corinthians 2. 16], that HE may instruct us, and to keep ourselves pure "just as HE is pure." [1 John 3. 3]  And, in all things remember that HE "suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow HIS steps." [1 Peter 2. 21]

With GOD WHO shows mercy, our goal is to be able to someday say, as Paul could say, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the LORD, the RIGHTEOUS JUDGE, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved HIS appearing." [2 Timothy 4. 7 - 8]  Peter, as well, reminds us that "when the CHIEF SHEPHERD appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away." [1 Peter 5. 4]

We are partakers of Y’SHUA, if we hold onto HIM, the ONE WHO is the beginning of our confidence (faithfulness, certainty) and remain steadfast to HIM to the end.  Our need is to love the EVER-LIVING LORD GOD with all our heart and follow HIS commands, and set our standards according to HIS perfect will.  To GOD, the ETERNAL ONE be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
We thank YOU, GREAT & MIGHTY GOD for YOUR mercies and grace to us.  Keep us ever grateful and grant us YOUR perfect rest, guidance, and wisdom in this world is our prayer, Amen
Please LORD, give us the kindness to hear with compassion, to offer support, loving comfort, and care; give us the courage to do what is needed, the wisdom to choose what is right and most fair; give us the vision to see what is possible; give us the faith that will help pave the way for a present that’s hopeful, a future that’s peaceful — give us the heart to bring joy to each day.
May GOD, WHOSE grace is irresistible and all sufficient, be glorified.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The tragedy of life is not in the fact of death, but that so many die without ever having lived knowing the BELOVED SAVIOR, that they may have life more abundantly now, and life eternal after they die.

JERICHO'S ENIGMA
"Do this six days, with seven priests bearing seven rams' horns preceding the Ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the horns." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 6. 4 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

The battle plan to conquer Jericho violated every ordinance of the TORAH, for the Levites were to be exempt from military duties, yet they led the procession. [Leviticus/Vayikra 1. 2 - 3; 45 - 49]  "The priests took up the Ark of the LORD while seven priests bearing seven rams' horns marched in front of the Ark of the LORD, blowing the horns as they marched.  And the armed men went in front of them, and the rear guard marched behind the Ark of the LORD, with the horns sounding all the time." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 6. 13 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

This also looks as if they were also violating the Sabbath, for here at Jericho they marched seven times as much as on the other six days.  "On the seventh day (Sabbath), they rose at daybreak and marched around the city, in the same manner, seven times; that was the only day that they marched around the city seven times." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 6. 15 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

This instance is the forerunner as anticipated for the "seven trumpet judgments" in Revelation 8 & 9.   It is interesting to note that Joshua instructed them to "maintain silence" until the final series of seven on the seventh day.  "Do not shout do not let your voices be heard, and do not let a sound issue from your lips UNTIL the moment that I command you — Shout!... then you shall shout." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 6. 10 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

In Revelation there is a strange period of silence prior to the seven trumpets.  "When HE opened the seventh seal, there was  silence in heaven for about half an hour." [Revelation 8. 1]  When our OMNIPOTENT HOLY GOD is present, what can man possibly utter; for GOD "will guard the steps of HIS faithful saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness and shall perish — for not by strength shall man prevail." [1 Samuel (Shemuel Alef) 2. 9 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

And, when the RIGHTEOUS ALMIGHTY ONE is aroused from HIS Holy Habitation, man must be still:  "Let us be silent... for the LORD our GOD has put us to silence... because we sinned against the LORD." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 8. 14 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  "The LORD is in HIS Holy Temple — let all the earth be silent before HIM." [Habakkuk 2. 20]  "Be silent all flesh, before the LORD!  For HE is roused from HIS Holy Habitation." [Zechariah (Zecharyah) 2. 17 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

If we would but trust and obey, we would find HIS way to be perfect and proven; and, when we cannot see, we can clearly follow HIS VOICE.  "The WAY OF GOD is PERFECT; the WORD OF THE LORD is proven PURE; HE is a SHIELD to all who seek refuge and trust in HIM." [Psalms (Tehillym) 18. 30 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Open your mouth in holiness and purity, with song and psalm, and bless and praise, glorify and revere, sanctify and ascribe sovereignty to the NAME of the DIVINE KING, the GREAT, MIGHTY & AWESOME ONE, holy is HE.  Take upon yourself the yoke of the Kingdom of Heaven and give sanction to one another to bless the CREATOR.  In tranquil joy of spirit, with pure speech and holy melody exclaim: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD OF HOSTS, the whole earth is full of HIS glory."

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The only motive some people have for listening to reason is to gain time for rebuttal.

DELIGHT IN GOD'S WILL
"To do what pleases YOU, my GOD, is my desire (Hebrew: chaphets — delight, take pleasure in); YOUR Law is in my inmost parts." [Psalms (Tehillym) 40. 8 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

This expression by King David was also a manifestation of prophecy that was completely fulfilled by MESSIAH Y’SHUA WHO said, "MY food is to do the will of HIM that sent ME, and to finish HIS work." [John 4. 34]  "I came down from heaven, not to do MY OWN will, but the will of HIM WHO sent ME." [John 6. 38]  "The works that I do in MY FATHER'S NAME, they bear witness of ME." [John 10. 25]  "Therefore when HE comes into the world, HE said — Behold, I come, in the volume of the BOOK it is written of ME — to do YOUR will, O GOD." [Hebrews 10. 5, 7]

The heart of the LORD Y’SHUA was perfectly harmonized with the will of the HEAVENLY FATHER because GOD'S Law was written thereon "not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart." [2 Corinthians 3. 3]  Even in the most trying and difficult circumstances to which any man could ever be subjected, JESUS, the ROCK of our salvation could pray, "Nevertheless, not MY will, but YOURS, be done." [Luke 22. 42]

By the INDWELLING SPIRIT OF ALMIGHTY GOD, we also must seek to make the will of the HOLY ONE our greatest delight.  We are saved exclusive and completely by grace alone.  But, this is not to deliver us from the discipline of GOD'S RIGHTEOUS & PERFECT LAW for the Law is a schoolmaster making us "free from the law of sin and death." [Romans 8. 2]

The HOLY SPIRIT OF TRUTH exposes GOD'S Perfect Law to us continuously as we are obedient to HIS commands which enables us to love HIM more in response.  "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD; I will put MY Laws into their hearts, and in their minds and I will write them." [Hebrews 10. 16]  Just as the MASTER OF MERCY instructed for the kings of Israel, we likewise should follow the same advise regarding the Law, "And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the LORD his GOD and be careful to observe all the words of this Law and these statutes." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 17. 19 Tanakh, Torah]

Like the psalmist David, we learn not to resist the will of the ALMIGHTY ONE, but to love HIS commands and to delight in HIS Law.  "O how I love YOUR Law!  In it I study and meditate all day long... YOUR decrees are my eternal heritage; they are my heart's rejoicing and delight... I have longed for YOUR salvation and deliverance, O LORD; YOUR Law is my delight." [Psalms (Tehillym) 119. 97, 111, 174 Tanakh, Kethuvim]  There is nothing sweeter or more precious then GOD'S WORD; read it and find engaging treasures for all eternity.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Evening, morning and noon, YOU, O LORD are all-good, YOUR mercies fail not; YOUR loving kindnesses never cease, all our hope is in YOU.  For all these things, YOUR NAME, O our KING, shall be continually blessed and exalted for ever and ever.
Barukh atah ADONAI ELOHEINU MELEKH ha-olam, ozier Yisrael bigvurah. — Blessed are YOU, LORD our GOD, KING of the Universe, WHO girds Israel with might.
Examine the discipline of your endurance.  Endurance must be directed toward productive goals and expressed in a constructive manner.  Endurance and determination focused to help cultivate good habits and break bad ones.  Endurance come from strength out of deep conviction and determination; so don’t let your tenaciousness lack fortitude.
Today is Yom HaAliyah – Israel’s Immigration Day.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
When the ALMIGHTY ONE punishes the wicked, HIS NAME is made great and holy. [Mechilta, Kiddush ha'Shem]  Yigdal sh'mo umalkhuto — May HIS NAME and Kingdom grow.

STILL HE WALKED
HE could hear the multitude screaming

 "Crucify!  Crucify!"

— HE could hear the hatred in their voices,

 these were HIS Chosen People.

HE loved them and they were going to crucify HIM.

HE was beaten, bleeding and weakened —

 HIS heart was broken,

 but still HE walked.

HE surveyed the crowd as HE came from the palace.

HE knew each of the faces so well, HE had created them.

HE knew every smile, their laughter, and each tear shed,

but now they were contorted with rage and anger —

 HIS heart was broken,

 but still HE walked.
Was HE afraid?

You and I would have been so.

HIS humanness would have mandated that HE was.
Instead, HE knew what HE came to do!
HE knowingly did all for humanity.

HIS disciples had left, denied, and even betrayed HIM.

HE searched the crowd for a loving face, but saw few.

Then HE turned HIS eyes to the ONLY ONE that mattered

and HE was assured that this was HIS FATHER'S will.

HE looked back at the crowd,

at the people who were spitting on HIM,

 throwing rocks and mocking HIM,

and HE knew it was for them that HE came.

So for them, HE walked.

Deafening sounds of the hammer striking the spikes

 echoed  triumphantly through the crowd.

However, HIS cries were even more prominent

then the cheers of the crowd.

HIS hands and feet were nailed to the rugged cross

as pain intensified with each blow.

Loudest of all was the still small voice inside HIS heart

that whispered, "I am with YOU, MY SON!"
 — and GOD'S heart broke —

HE had let HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON walk.

Y’SHUA, the MESSIAH could have asked GOD to end HIS suffering,

but instead, HE asked GOD to "Forgive!"

Not to forgive HIM,

but to forgive the ones who were persecuting HIM.

As HE hung on that cross dying an unimaginable death,

HE looked out and saw, not only the faces in the mob,

but HE could see the face of every person HE was dying for,

and HIS heart filled with love.

Although HIS body was dying,

 HIS heart was alive —
 — ALIVE with immeasurable,

unconditional love HE has for each of us.

That is why HE walked.

When I forget how much my GOD loves me,

 I remember HIS walk.

When I wonder if I can, without doubt, truly be forgiven,

 I remember HIS walk.

When I need reminded of how to live like MESSIAH Y’SHUA did,

 I think of HIS walk.
So, to express how much I love HIM,

when I wake each morning, I turn my eyes to HIM,

 — and I walk.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
As we bid farewell to Sabbath, our prayer is the LIVING FOUNTAIN refresh and sustain each of you, our cherished friends.  May the LIGHT of the HOLY ONE, blessed be HE, fill your up-coming week with a yearning desire to submit to HIS inscrutable will and give you strength for your daily tasks.  May some of the sweetness of Sabbath be a part of each day as you share the knowledge of wisdom of the LOVING MASTER with others.
Our beloved friends our prayer is that GOD ETERNAL will hear our prayer and give us a renewed spiritual awakening, increase our love and brotherhood among us by HIS PRECIOUS SON'S atoning blood.
We wish to express our love to each of you...giving thanks to the HOLY ONE WHO gives good things to HIS children.
“Tov Shavua — Have a good week!”

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Redeem us, O GOD, from the serfdom of ignorance and irreverence!  Read and study GOD'S WORD to have more than a mole's-stunted amount of intellect capable of discerning right and wrong.

BENEFITS IN SUFFERING
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." [Romans 8. 18]

This is how the Apostle Paul approached suffering, in a positive way.  So did James, "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials." [James 1. 2]  Peter said, "rejoice inasmuch as you partake of CHRIST'S sufferings, that when HIS glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy." [1 Peter 4. 13]  And John stated, "you are of GOD, little children, and have overcome them, because HE WHO is in you is greater than he who is in the world." [1 John 4. 4]

Paul reveals three positive benefits with suffering:
Suffering leads to heavenly glory.  "If we suffer with HIM, that we may also be glorified together...the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us." [Romans 8. 17 - 18]

Suffering increases our dependence on the COMFORTER, the HOLY SPIRIT for answered prayer.  "Likewise, the SPIRIT helps our infirmities, for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the SPIRIT makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." [Romans 8. 26]  This allows the perfect will of  the ETERNAL MASTER to be accomplished in our life.

Suffering is far outweighed by the permanence of our HOLY GOD'S love.  "Who shall separate us from the love of CHRIST?  Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  No! in all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM WHO loved us." [Romans 8. 35, 37]

Instead of dwelling on the suffering, help your neighbor with his load, and yours will not feel so heavy.   And this will come about as we focus our attentions on the everlasting and measureless love of ALMIGHTY GOD.  The INCOMPARABLE & PERFECT HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL is good, loving and exceedingly merciful!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Who is like YOU, O KING, HELPER, SAVIOR & SHIELD?  Blessed are YOU, LORD GOD WHO sustains the living with loving-kindness, quickens the dead with great mercy, supports the falling; heals the sick, loosens the bound, and keeps YOUR faith to them that sleep in the dust.  YOU are the LORD of mighty acts, WHO judges, WHO kills and quickens, and causes salvation to spring forth.  YOU alone are faithful, YOU are holy, and YOUR NAME is holy, and we adore and praise you daily. Selah!

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Anything worth saying is worth repeating 1,000 times.

RAHAB & TWO SPIES
"Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim saying — Go, view the land, especially Jericho .  So they set out, and they came to the house of a harlot named Rahab, and lodged there." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 2. 1 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Before attacking the city of Jericho , Joshua the son of Nun sent two spies in to search out the land.  Some assume that two were sent because when Moses had sent in twelve men to search out the land forty years earlier, only two were faithful.  The result was the nation of Israelites were condemned to the wilderness wanderings. [Numbers/B'Midvar 13 - 14]

It seems, however, that the only accomplishment the two spies succeeded in was in the saving of Rahab and her household.  "The city and everything in it are doomed by the LORD to destruction; only Rahab the harlot is to be spared, and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers we sent." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 6. 17 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

The two spies in the time of Joshua are similar form of evidence, guide, or illustration to the two witnesses that precede the tribulations of Revelation 11.  "And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one-thousand-two-hundred-sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.  These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the GOD of the earth." [Revelation 11. 3 - 4]

By faith, Rahab the harlot acted on what she believed and was therefore justified by her works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way.  "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." [James 2. 26]  This is the Rahab who was the mother of Boaz, the wife Salmon – thus in the lineage of Y’SHUA. [see Matthew 1. 5]

Likewise, those who are found faithful and are watching for the LORD'S return — will also go out of this earth another way.  Be ready and watching, HIS return coming is near!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
O GOD, thank YOU for being our REFUGE and our HOPE, we glorify YOUR NAME.  YOU are the LIVING GOD, YOUR WORDS bring life and light to the soul.  YOU are the strength of our life, the ROCK of our salvation.  YOUR Kingdom and YOUR Truth abide forever.  Praised are YOU, our REDEEMER, the HOLY ONE of Israel.  The grace of our LORD Y’SHUA  ha’MASHIACH be with your spirit.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
When we know WHO holds the future, then whatever comes, even the worst is transformed into a blessing.

THE LORD’S HAND     10/27/19 —
"That Ezra, son of Seraiah, came up from Babylon, a scribe expert in the LAW OF MOSES which the LORD GOD OF ISRAEL had given, whose request the king had granted in its entirety, thanks to the benevolence of the LORD his GOD toward him." [Ezra 7. 6 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

Neither Ezra the skilled scribe nor Nehemiah, the kings’ butler were prepared either by study or experience to supervise the great construction project of rebuilding the Temple in Jerusalem and the wall of the City which had both been destroyed many years before by the armies of Babylon.  Yet OMNISCIENT GOD called them to these ministries and led them and protected them as they carried out the appointed duties.

Ezra and Nehemiah gave the  ALMIGHTY EXALTED ONE the glory for what they accomplished.  Ezra reminded his readers six times and Nehemiah twice, that it was by the hand of the LORD their GOD that they were able to properly supervise the work for such a great task. [Ezra 7. 6, 9, 28; 8. 18 – 22, 31; Nehemiah/Nechemah 2. 8, 18]  Regardless of the many difficulties and through much opposition by their foes, it was by the hand of GOD that all HE pleased, HE accomplished through HIS chosen servants.  "You shall be a glorious crown in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the palm of your GOD." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 62. 3 Tanakh, Nevi’im]  "The hand of the LORD shall be revealed in behalf of HIS servants; but HE shall rage against HIS foes." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 66. 14 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

Likewise, we must be careful to give all honour, glory and praise to the OMNIPOTENT SUPREME LORD & KING for the things HE enables and allows us to accomplish in HIS service.  Even such a great and powerful man of GOD, like the Apostle Paul had to say, "But by the grace of GOD I am what I am, and HIS grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of GOD which was with me." [1 Corinthians 15. 10]  And — "If GOD is for us, who can be against us?" [Romans 8. 31]

The hand of the LORD can also be a chastening hand as well as a guiding and providing hand.  But the greatest desire of the ROCK OF OUR SALVATION is that "all the peoples of the earth shall know how mighty is the hand of the LORD, that you shall fear the LORD your GOD always." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 4. 24 Tanakh, Nevi’im]  Because, "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the LIVING GOD." [Hebrews 10. 31]  Therefore, find comfort for your entire life in the center of HIS nail-pierced hands.

Sha’alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
May GOD give us the kindness to hear with compassion, to offer support, loving comfort, and care.  May HE give us the courage to do what is needed, the wisdom to choose what is right and most fair... give us the vision to see what is possible; the faith that will help pave the way for a present that is hopeful, a future that is peaceful — give us the heart to bring joy to each day. Amen!
May the LORD use you today to do HIS work in the lives that surround you.  May today be all you need it to be; and the peace of GOD and the freshness of the HOLY SPIRIT rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight, and conquer all your fears.  May GOD manifest HIMSELF today in ways you have never experienced before.  May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer, and your prayers be answered.  We pray that faith enters a new height for you and that your territory is enlarged.  We pray for peace, healing, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, true and undying love for GOD..

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
There are four types of men; the one who says,
"Mine is mine and yours is yours." — The Commonplace or Sodom type.
"Mine is yours and yours is mine" — The Am'ha-Arez (Deficient & Covetous) type.
"Mine is yours and yours is yours." — The Saint.
"Mine is mine and yours is mine." — The Wicked.

MESSIAH & FOUR THIEVES
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." [John 10. 10]

There are four different thieves mention in the NEW COVENANT: The first was Judas Iscariot, the disciple, was the first thief involved in the events surrounding the crucifixion of our LORD Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH.  Definitely, Judas was the thief in charge of the money box and was known for taking what was in it. [John 12. 6]  Judas' epithet: "Betrayer of The KING OF GLORY."

Barabbas, the second thief, was also a troublemaker and had committed murderer in the insurrection. [Mark 15. 7; John 18. 40]  This convicted criminal, sentenced to death, was released, as was the custom at Passover. . . and Y’SHUA OF NAZARETH, the KING OF THE JEWS, was condemned to die the horrible death by crucifixion.

"Two robbers were crucified with HIM (MESSIAH) one on the right and another on the left." [Matthew 27. 38]  One of the condemned (the third thief) belittled and ridiculed the MASTER saying — "If YOU are the CHRIST, save YOURSELF and us." [Luke 23. 39 — fulfilling prophecy of MESSIAH, Psalms/Tehillym 22. 8]

However, the fourth thief believed the SAVIOR and said, "we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this MAN has done nothing wrong.  Then he said to JESUS — LORD, remember me when YOU come into YOUR Kingdom.  And JESUS said to him — Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with ME in Paradise." [Luke 23. 41 - 43]

The four thieves were all deserving the punishment of death.  Judas, the betrayer, ended his own life in suicide.  Barabbas was a beneficiary — though only for a time.  On the cross, one criminal was a mocker, whose ultimate destiny was Hell and the Lake of Fire.  But the thief who believed only moments before his death, received Salvation and Eternal Life.  The LORD Y’SHUA ha’MASHIACH, WHO took on HIMSELF the penalty for thieves and robbers, can save anyone who comes to HIM because the REDEEMER \ MEDIATOR came "that we might have life, and have it more abundantly." [John 10. 10]  Who so ever will. . . Come!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
O magnify the LORD with me and let us exalt HIS NAME together.  HIS glory is in the earth and in the heavens. HE is the STRENGTH of all HIS servants, the PRAISE of them that truly love HIM, the HOPE OF ISRAEL, the people HE brought near to HIMSELF.  HIS Law is a Tree of Life to them that lay hold of it, and the supporters thereof are happy.  Its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all its paths are peace. HalleluYAH!

True compassion is limitless.  It is not an extension of your needs and defined by your limited perspective.  Compassion for another is achieved by having a selfless attitude, expressing compassion and empathy in your heart.

  Rosh Chodesh begins at evening.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
We are only as strong as what we struggle with.

ALMOST ALL
"According to the Law, ALMOST ALL things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission." [Hebrews 9. 22]

In the OLD COVENANT sin is dealt with by a sacrifice of blood for a covering.  "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you for making expiation for your lives upon the altar; it is the blood, as life, that effects atonement." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 17. 11 Tanakh, Torah]  The Hebrew word "kaphar" means atone, cleans, cover-over, forgive, pardon, purge, propitiate, or reconcile.

Chapter 4 of Leviticus lists the sacrifices required for sins done unintentionally by a common person, a ruler, or the whole congregation.  However, they were only for unintentional sins, not for premeditated willful sins.  There was no covering for any sins done deliberately.   The person who emphatically sins was to be cut off because of their wickedness.

The ALMIGHTY ONE tells us that there are those we are not even to pray for.  "As for you, do not pray for this people, do not raise a cry or pray for them, do not make intercession to ME; for I will not listen to you...they vex and provoke ME to anger to their own disgrace." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 7. 16, 19 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  "This is the nation that would not obey the LORD their GOD, nor accept correction.  Truth and faithfulness has perished vanished from their mouths." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 7. 28 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  "Do not pray for the benefit of this people." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 14. 11 Tanakh, Torah]

In the NEW COVENANT also, the only covering for unintentional sin is blood — the most precious blood of the SUPREME SACRIFICE, MESSIAH Y’SHUA, GOD'S ONLY–BEGOTTEN SON.   "GOD demonstrates HIS OWN love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, CHRIST died for us.  Much more then, having now been justified by HIS blood, we shall be saved from wrath through HIM." [Romans 5. 8 - 9]  And you have been "washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the NAME of the LORD JESUS and by the SPIRIT of our GOD." [1 Corinthians 6. 11]

However, if one willfully sins "after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins." [Hebrews 10. 26]  Those who have such contempt, despise and totally reject MESSIAH Y’SHUA, WHO is GOD'S MAGNIFICENT METHOD of dealing with sin will receive a much worse punishment for they have "trampled the SON OF GOD underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the SPIRIT OF GRACE?" [Hebrews 10. 29]  When the LORD ETERNAL judges HIS people, assuredly it will be, "a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the LIVING GOD." [Hebrews 10. 30 - 31]

Though we were enemies of the HOLY GOD, through the death of HIS SON we can be justified by the blood of the LAMB, and saved from the wrath of GOD through YESHUA ha’MASHIACH, the only ONE through WHOM we can receive reconciliation.  The GIVER OF THE LAW calls even now: "BEHOLD! NOW IS THE ACCEPTED TIME; BEHOLD, NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION." [2 Corinthians 6. 2]  The power of the LORD GOD ETERNAL, the MASTER OF MERCY & TRUTH, is mighty to save; don't turn HIM away!

Sha’alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
As we bid farewell to Shabbas, our prayer is that GOD, WHO separates the holy from the secular, forgive our sins.  We share the blessed hope that every day will be as sweet as Shabbat...a rest of love freely given in truth and sincerity — a rest in peace and tranquility, quiet and safety — a perfect rest in which you find favor of the LORD Y’SHUA!  CREATOR of the Universe we extol YOUR greatness and goodness.  We rejoice at YOUR guiding hand and seek YOUR inspiration and purify our spirits that in our daily tasks we may be conscious of YOUR PRESENCE.  Help us to see that no work prospers unless it brings blessings to other lives, and no gain truly enriches if it adds not to the happiness of others.  Help us so to live that when we have gathered our final harvest, many shall rise up and call us blessed, because we pointed them to YOU.  Teach us to seek YOU ever more within the sanctuary of our souls, within YOUR Tabernacle, and in the congregation of YOUR worshipers, Amen.
May each day of the new week be a blessing as you bless others. Hodu l’YHVH ki tov – kee l’olam chasdo – give thanks to YEHOWAH, HE is good.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
When passion burns within you, remember that it was given to you for a good purpose. [Hassidic saying]

GOD’S VIEW OF SEX
"And GOD created man in HIS image; in the image of GOD HE created him; male and female HE created them. GOD blessed them and GOD said to them — Be fertile and increase." [Genesis (Bereshit) 1. 27 - 28 Tanakh, Torah]

Human sexuality was originally given to be a blessing.  Man and woman were created in the Image of ALMIGHTY GOD.  Nudity was not a sin but was pure and good.  The man and woman were both naked before the HOLY ONE, and GOD saw everything HE had made and, "indeed it was very good."

The woman was cherished by man from the very first.  When the MASTER DESIGNER created the woman out of the rib HE took from the side of the man and brought her to the man, Adam looked at the naked woman and said, "This one at last is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh, she shall be called woman (‘ishshah) for from man (‘’ish) she was taken." [Genesis (Bereshit) 2. 23 Tanakh, Torah]

CREATOR GOD accepted Adam’s response, when he saw the woman. GOD said — That is correct, "hence a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, so they shall become one flesh." [Genesis (Bereshit) 2. 24 Tanakh, Torah]  Physical intimacy contains within it the highest potential for spirituality.  It is one of the greatest means a married couple is given to express holiness.

The attraction and responsibility between the man and woman was given by the ETERNAL ONE.  The LORD GOD ALMIGHTY put in the heart of the woman a desire to please her husband, and gave the man responsibility over the woman to care for her and protect her.  Notice, this did not include abuse or misuse of any kind.  All commandments by GOD regarding the relationship between man and woman are for the protection and care of the woman.  Sexuality is like a mighty river.  If harnessed, it can bring irrigation and magnificent energy to countless communities.  If unharnessed and out of control, it brings floods and destruction.

After the Great Flood, which came to remove violence of mankind from the earth, GOD renewed the blessing to Noah and said, "Be fertile and increase and fill the earth." [Genesis (Bereshit) 9. 1 Tanakh, Torah]  Because of the tendency of mankind to turn to violence and wickedness, GOD gave laws regulating behavior and human sexuality.  The following are specific sexual relationships & practices the HOLY & RIGHTEOUS LORD has forbidden:  Adultery.

Forbidden sexual contact:
Bestiality (sexual relations with an animal)
  Incest (sex with near relative)
    Mother
    Step Mother
    Sister or half-sister
    Granddaughter
    Half-sister
    Aunt (father's side)
    Aunt (mother's side)
    Aunt (uncle's wife, father's side)
    Daughter-in-law
    Sister-in-law (brother's wife)
A Woman and her Daughter and her Granddaughter
    Sister-in-law (wife's sister)
And, do not marry your wife's sister while your wife is still living.

 Additional & Repeated Commandments
Do not have sexual relations with a woman during her menstrual period.
   Do not commit adultery.
Do not give your children to be sacrificed to Molech.
Homosexuality, forbidden as an abomination (outrage, disgrace, repugnance, loathsome, abhorrence, detestation) to the RIGHTEOUS & HOLY GOD.
Bestiality (sexual relations with an animal). [see Leviticus/Vayikra 18]

These sins are the reason the land had been defiled and had vomited out its inhabitants that Israel was commanded to utterly destroy; and the ones are not only practiced, but most are legalized in America.  What fools we have been these last sixty years.  We put the wolf in charge of the hen house, then wonder that our children are being devoured.  Tolerance of what GOD calls wickedness, and appeasement toward the ones given to it, does not make the public more noble, but the reverse, they become more debauched and depraved.

GOD forewarned: "Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for it is by such that the nations are defiled; which I am casting out before you.  For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants.  You must therefore keep MY statutes and MY judgments, you must not commit any of these abhorrent things, neither any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you for all these abominations were done by the people who were in the land before you, and the land was defiled, the land will vomit you out also when you defile it." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 18. 24 - 28 Tanakh, Torah]  Every nation whose people persistently do these things will soon bring the wrathful judgment of GOD down on its own head and be destroyed.

Always remember what GOD forewarned about those who are sexually immoral, "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." [Revelation 21. 8]  It would be prudently wise and most sensible to "Fear GOD and keep HIS commandments!  For this applies to all mankind: that GOD will call every creature to account for all their conduct, be it good or bad.  For GOD will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil." [Ecclesiastes (Kohelet) 12. 13 - 14 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Be warned! . . . because of your sin, the Lake of Fire is your eternal destination.  However, if you want valid information on how to change your eternal destiny, please feel free to Email us and we will be glad to send you valuable information to help you find the way to a blessed eternity with MESSIAH YESHUA, the ONE WHO died that you might live.  We care about your eternal soul.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Blessings to all who love Zion!  We were greatly blessed when the HOLY ONE brought us out of slavery from Egypt and took HIS people directly to Mount Sinai.  There HE gave us the Law to keep us free from slavery (to sin).  Then, HE gave us HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON, Y’SHUA ha’MASHIACH to keep us free and give us true peace and eternal rest in HIM. HalleluYAH - what a SAVIOR!
For compassion to be effective and healthy it needs to be disciplined and focused.  It requires discretion both to whom you express compassion, and in the measure of the compassion itself.  It is recognizing when compassion should be expressed and when it should be withheld or limited.  Discipline in compassion is knowing that being truly compassionate sometimes requires withholding compassion.  Because compassion is not an expression of the bestower's needs but a response to the recipient's needs.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart.  Let your policy be quality!

ALONE IN THE GARDENS     10/25/19—
"The LORD GOD planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there HE put the man whom HE had formed." [Genesis (Bereshith) 2. 8 Tanakh, Torah]  "Then the LORD GOD took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it." [Genesis (Bereshith) 2. 15 Tanakh, Torah]

Adam was the first gardener,  tending the most beautiful garden that the SOVEREIGN LORD GOD HIMSELF planted.  Every tree was pleasant to the sight; there was a lovely river to water it, and ALMIGHTY PRESENCE was there.

One day when the OMNIPRESENT CREATOR was "walking in the garden" — HE found Adam and Eve hiding from HIS PRESENCE because sin had entered, thus Adam and his wife had to be cast out of the garden leaving THE VOICE (Hebrew: qowl — "SOUND" OF THE LORD GOD) alone.

Many years later GOD, the CREATOR, entered another garden with HIS loved ones.  The MESSIAH went out "with HIS disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which HE and HIS disciples entered." [John 18. 1]  There in the Garden of Gethsemane, the disciples fell asleep, and once again Y’SHUA was left alone.  "And HE was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and HE knelt down and prayed." [Luke 22. 41]  There the LORD Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH "offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears" [Hebrews 5. 7] as HE faced the death that HE pronounced on HIS first loved ones long before in the first garden.

There was still another garden where ALMIGHTY MERCIFUL ONE was left alone again — "in the place where HE was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid.  There they laid JESUS." [John 19. 41 - 42]

In that same garden, after raising from the dead, MESSIAH Y’SHUA, the SECOND ADAM, was thought to be a GARDENER, "JESUS said to her — Woman, why are you weeping?  Whom are you seeking? — She, supposing HIM to be the gardener, said to HIM — SIR, if YOU have carried HIM away, tell me where YOU have laid HIM, and I will take HIM away." [John 20. 15]

The LORD MESSIAH Y’SHUA, the INCARNATE LIVING WORD OF GOD, walked alone in the first garden where HE was seeking HIS OWN.  The SON OF MAN knelt alone in the second garden, praying for HIS OWN.  HE was buried alone in the third garden, dying for HIS OWN.  Therefore, in the new "Paradise of GOD" where the Pure River of Life flows and the Tree of Life grows eternally, HIS servants shall serve HIM and reign with HIM "forever and ever" never to be alone again.  That will be such a magnificently glorious time!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5

Shalom, my dear friend!  Come, let us go out to meet the Sabbath Queen!  Come, O Bride, the Sabbath presence is eagerly awaited, and joyously welcomed.  Shabbat of B’Reisheet – “In The Beginning” [Reading: Genesis 1:1 - 6:8; Isaiah 42:5 - 43:10; John 1:1-17]
The ALMIGHTY ONE has put HIS NAME in Jerusalem: "In this House, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put MY NAME forever." [2 Kings/Melakhim Bet 21:7b]  As it goes for Jerusalem, so it will go for the rest of the world...do not be deceive into thinking anything less.  Through the LORD MESSIAH Y’SHUA, Israel will be renowned, joyous, famous and glorious above all the nations on earth. [Jeremiah/Yirmeyah 33.9]

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The average person, when left alone with their thoughts, is tremendously lonely.

WITH YOU ALWAYS
"For the sake of HIS GREAT NAME, the LORD will never abandon HIS people, because it has pleased the LORD to make you HIS people." [1 Samuel (Shemuel Alef) 12. 22 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

This is the promise the GREAT GOD OF ISRAEL made to HIS chosen people, Israel .  "Remember, I am with you: I will protect you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land.  I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." [Genesis (Bereshith) 28. 15 Tanakh, Torah]

To Joshua, the promise was given — "No one shall be able to resist you as long as you live.  As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you nor forsake you." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 1. 5 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  "Be strong and of good courage (Hebrew: chazaq v’amats) be not in fear or in dread of them; for the LORD ELOHEYK HIMSELF marches with you; HE will not fail you or forsake you." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 31. 6 Tanakh, Torah]  In this verse, Moses is addressing the nation of Israel and he says, "Be strong and of good courage."  Here, the Hebrew tense is the imperative plural tense thus the Hebrew says: "Hizku v'imtzu."   Hazaq v'ematz is the singular imperative and this is the Hebrew when the ALMIGHTY speaks directly to Joshua and commands him to be strong and of good courage in Joshua 1:6.

The promises of the ALMIGHTY ONE, our SHIELD OF TRUTH, are certain and sure — infallible to all who trust in HIM.  There are many faithful assurances in HOLY SCRIPTURES, one that especially reveals GOD'S heart declares: "The poor and needy seek water on the homeward march through the desert and there is none, their tongue is parched with thirst.  I, YEHOWAH, will hear them.  I, ELOHEY OF ISRAEL , will not forsake them." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 41. 17 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

The most precious to the believers now says — "I will never leave you nor forsake you." [Hebrews 13. 5]  Paul also was most convinced of this and expounded — "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of GOD which is in CHRIST JESUS our LORD." [Romans 8. 38 - 39]

The last words our LORD MESSIAH Y’SHUA promised were — "I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen" [Matthew 28. 20]  Moreover, the MOST HOLY & TRUE ONE always keeps HIS promises, HE never fails.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Zey ha’yom asaw ADONAI, nagilah ve-neesmechah voh...This is the day the LORD has made, we will rejoice and we will be glad in it!
Blessings to all who love Zion!  We were greatly blessed when the HOLY ONE brought us out of slavery from Egypt and took HIS people directly to Mount Sinai.  There HE gave us the Law to keep us free from slavery (to sin).  Then, HE gave us HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON, Y’SHUA the MESSIAH to keep us free and give us true peace and eternal rest in HIM.  HalleluYAH!  What a wonderful SAVIOUR, let us worship and adore HIM!

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The TALMUD says that in the days of MESSIAH, all Jews will dwell together in one gigantic Sukkah.  This emphasizes the good and pleasant need for us to dwell in unity; perhaps the reason we take the four spices — the Etrog, Lulav, Myrtle & Willow — bind them together and wave them in all directions.  Thus declaring that all Jews and Gentiles are a part of the same unit; pledging to discover how all these parts can work together to accomplish a HIGHER good.

SHEMINI ATZERET
"You shall take for yourselves on the first day (of Sukkos) the fruit of the beautiful Hadar Tree (Etrog), branches of a Palm Tree (Lulav), boughs from the Myrtle Tree (Hadassim) and Willows of the brook (Aravos), and you shall rejoice before the LORD your GOD for seven days.  You shall observe it as a Festival of the LORD for seven days in the year; you shall observe it in the seventh month as a law for all time, throughout the ages." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 40 - 41 Tanakh, Torah]

Shemini Atzeret (Shemini: eight; Atzeret: solemn assembly — the 8th day of Sukkot celebration) is likened to the special feast of a king for his beloved son:  For a full week the king celebrated with all his kingdom.  After this week of festivities, the king said to his son, "It is difficult for me to part with you.  Please stay another day to celebrate."  {Atzeres also means "holding back" — referring to the king who held back his son from leaving with the rest of the celebrants.}

For the full seven days of Sukkot, seventy sacrifices were brought into the Bais ha’Mikdash (Holy Temple in Jerusalem) on behalf of all the nations.  If the nations of the world would have known the value of the Temple for them, they would have surrounded it with fortresses in order to protect it.  GOD, the ETERNAL ONE, set aside an eighth day of celebration on which only one holiday sacrifice was offered, this one on behalf of the Jewish nation, and it became a day of unique celebration between CREATOR GOD and HIS chosen people.

Simchat Beit ha'Sheavah ("Happiness of the House of the Water-Drawing") is one of the many practices during this festival.  Each night throughout the holiday, tens of thousands of spectators would gather outside the Temple walls while the most pious members of the community would dance and sing before GOD asking for HIS blessing of rain in its right time.  Water and wine are poured out from different golden pitchers so they mingle together as they fall onto the ground; thus signifying prayer for abundant rain necessary for the growth of crops.  In times of old, during the Sukkot holiday, water from the Pool of Siloam in the City of David was drawn and carried to the Holy Temple.  The Temple celebration during Sukkot was highlighted by the Ceremony of Water-Drawing for the holiday offerings.  This ceremony was unique in that all year the libations on the Altar were performed with wine, but on Sukkot, plain water was used.  Yet it was said that "whoever has not seen the joy at the place of the water-drawing has never seen true joy in his life!"  [Sukkah 51]  The joy expressed in this ceremony was the joy of the simple and pure acceptance of the ALMIGHTY GOD'S will, as symbolized by clear water; contrasting to the acceptance that is based on the joy of understanding, symbolized by wine.  Spiritually, it prophesied the coming  of the LORD MESSIAH Y’SHUA and the outpouring of the HOLY SPIRIT.

According to the TALMUD, Sukkot is the time when GOD determines the amount of rain that will fall in the coming year.  The Water Libation therefore was deeply revered as an opportunity to request the life-giving waters.  Though we do not have the Temple today, Jewish communities all over the world still celebrate the festival by joining together and indulging in food, drink, music and dance to thank the GLORIOUS KING of Israel for HIS precious gifts and for HIS tremendous kindness.  With their unique approach to reveal extraordinary teachings extracted from the HOLY WORD.  "Joyfully shall you draw water out of the Fountains of Salvation!" [Isaiah/Yeshayah 12. 3]

Observant Jews take the "Arba Minim (taking of the Four Kinds)" of plants in his hands into the family Sukkah (booth), recites a benediction ["Baruch ata ADONEY ELOHEINU MELECH ha’olam asher kidishanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu al n’tilat Lulav – Blessed are YOU LORD our GOD, KING of the universe WHO sanctifies us with HIS mitzvoth and commanded us concerning the taking of a palm branch], then shakes these three times in all four directions (which forms a cross) to indicate that GOD'S glory fills the whole universe.  This is done in fulfillment of the commandment, "On the first day you shall take the product of hadar trees (Hebrew: p’rietz hadar — the fruit of beautiful trees), branches of palm trees, boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the LORD your GOD seven days." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 40 Tanakh, Torah]  The four plants enumerated in the TORAH are the Etrog (lemon-like citron – symbolizing a world of abundance and peace for all people), Lulav (palm branch), Hadassim (myrtle) and Aravos (willows).

In our oral tradition, it is explained that each of these Four Kinds corresponds to a different type of person, from the Etrog, which has both refreshing tastes (constant TORAH learning) and delightful fragrance (good deeds) to the Aravah (willow), which has neither of these qualities.  Despite their differences, the TORAH instructs us to take these four and bind them together, for they complement one another.  So too does the Jew — and Gentile — complement one another; and only when there is true harmony among all people can we hope for an ideal existence.  May it happen soon and in our time!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Welcome Sabbath of Shemini Atzeret!  We honor and praise the LORD Y’SHUA, the ONE WHO gives true Sabbath peace and rest and separates the sacred from the ordinary; the sacred from the mundane.  A truly wonderful Sabbath of Z'man Simchataynu (the time of our rejoicing)!
The TALMUD says that in the days of the MESSIAH, all Jews will dwell together in one gigantic Sukkah.  This underscores the need for Jewish unity.  Perhaps this is the reason why on Sukkot we take the four species — Etrog, Lulav, Myrtle and Willow — bind them close together, and wave them in all directions.  We declare that all Jews are part of the same unit.  And, we pledge to discover how all these parts can work together to accomplish our lofty goals.
"TORAH is the mysterious bridge which connects the Jew and the ALMIGHTY ONE, across which they interact and communicate, and by means of which GOD fulfills HIS covenant with HIS people to sustain and protect them."
Therefore on Shmini Atzeret we also celebrate the completion of the yearly cycle of Torah readings and the beginning of a new cycle.  This event is lovingly referred to as Simchat Torah, literally "Rejoicing of the Torah."  [Outside of Israel, Simchat Torah is celebrated the day after Shmini Atzeret.]
The Sages explain the custom of finishing and re-starting the reading of Torah on the same day — "To show that the TORAH is beloved to us like a new object and not like an old command which a person no longer treasures.  Since it is brand new to us, we all run to greet it."  We sing and dance for hours around the Bima (the platform where the Torah is read), carry the TORAH Scroll, and express our joy at having the opportunity to come so close to GOD.  It is with this renewed appreciation that we approach Simchat TORAH.  We are filled with gratitude and awe for the great gift that GOD has bestowed on us with love.
On Shmini Atzeret, as we complete this holiday season, we offer a special prayer to GOD for rain.  Rain represents the blessings of growth and abundance.
We are extremely grateful to the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL for HIS miracles that are with us all day and for the wonders and goodness of every moment.
"Chag Sameyach!" — joy to you and yours, may this day be extraordinary and blessed as we celebrate the 8th Day of Assembly [Deuteronomy 14:22-16:17; Numbers 29:35–29:40; 1 Kings 8:55-66; Luke 2:21-32]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

James 4:1-3
(1) Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? (2) You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. (3) You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
New King James Version

This is vital because we find ourselves living in a culture that is coming apart at the seams because each individual wants to execute his desires. James tells us what happens when individuals begin to do this.

His basic question to the Christian is, "Are we going to submit to God or to our desires for pleasure?" Pleasure here does not mean "fun," as when one goes to an amusement park. James is talking about the desire that normally arises within an individual, who must make the choice of whether or not he is going to follow through and gratify himself by fulfilling that desire. So pleasure here means "that which gratifies."

He is saying to us that, if we seek our desires, then we had better understand that life will be filled with conflict. Why? Because everybody else is doing the same thing. Their desires are likely different from ours, and so our desires runs headlong into their desires, producing arguments, struggle, strife, and war over whose desire is going to be fulfilled. When people do what is right in their own eyes, rather than submit to the central authority, desires will crash into each other, creating conflict. It does not matter whether that central authority is the family, the culture, or God's Word!

This is happening constantly, but God has a solution. It is not easy. The solution is that each son of God bears the responsibility to govern himself, by faith, within the framework of His laws, His principles, His traditions, and the examples that He gives in His Word. We have to submit to these things.

John 8:32 declares that the truth sets us free, but it will never set anyone free unless it is submitted to. Truth is good only as it is used, so a person must submit to it. Inevitably, differences will arise on what things should be done or how they should be done. But God has a way of resolving these problems if we will submit and not succumb to impatience—if we do not force our will and thus force conflict.

— John W. Ritenbaugh

October 6

Today's Reading: Isaiah 26; Philippians 2

Today's Thoughts: Name Above All Names

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11

Have you ever been in a position where you were the only Christian? Possibly now, you may be in the situation that your co-workers, neighbors or family members speak against Christians continually and frequently use His name as a curse word. What are you supposed to do? Our tendency is to try to maintain a position of peace (and so silence), especially where our paycheck is involved. We tend to back down, keep silent and ignore the comments. These actions reveal a person who is powerless and ashamed, even if that is not our intent. We should never appear powerless or ashamed of our Lord!

We need to stop and consider Who Our Lord Jesus is. One day all will bow before Jesus and confess that He is Lord. Every tongue, tribe and nation will be on their knees giving glory to God the Father, just by speaking the name of Jesus Christ. That day is coming and what a glorious day that will be! There will be no more denying Who Jesus is and no more discriminating against those who boldly speak His name. There will be no more hiding, embarrassment or guilt, only praise and pride in praising our Savior. And shame and sorrow, “gnashing of teeth,” to those who did not praise Him now.

Most importantly, stop and consider Who He is to you personally today. Should anyone have the right to discredit Your Lord and Savior at any time or anywhere? Paul tells us in Romans 1:16 that he was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes. By succumbing to fear and acting ashamed of the gospel, we fall right into the pit of the devil. Why? Because our power is stifled. To not be ashamed allows the power of God to be released through your words. We represent life. Those who are criticizing represent death. We have the responsibility and we have the power to share the gospel of Christ.

Today, ask the Lord to forgive you for not speaking up and for not speaking out for Him. Today, as you wait for Him to open the door, ask the Lord to give you an opportunity to speak about Him. Today, ask the Lord to teach you to be bold for Him because you do not ever want Him to be ashamed of you. And today, thank the Lord for saving you, forgiving you and giving you His Holy Spirit so His will.

Our mission is to evangelize the lost and awaken the saved to live empowered lives by the Work of God and His Holy Spirit. Daily Disciples Ministries makes a difference for the kingdom of God by teaching and training believers how to be in God's Word, how to pray and how to walk with Jesus every day, as His daily disciple.

Elaine, do you want to be honored?

Mark 10:44-45  And whoever of you desires to be first shall be servant of all.  For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

A non-commissioned officer was directing the repairs of a military building during the American Revolution. He was barking orders to the soldiers under his command, trying to get them to raise a heavy wooden beam.

As the men struggled in vain to lift the beam into place, a man who was passing by stopped to ask the one in charge why he wasn't helping the men. With all the pomp of an emperor, the soldier responded, "Sir, I am a corporal!"

"You are, are you?" replied the passerby, "I was not aware of that." Then, taking off his hat and bowing, he said, "I ask your pardon, Corporal." Then the stranger walked over and strained with the soldiers to lift the heavy beam. After the job was finished, he turned and said, "Mr. Corporal, when you have another such job and have not enough men, send for your Commander in Chief, and I will come and help you a second time." The corporal was thunderstruck. The man’s name was General George Washington.

We all want to be honored, respected and appreciated. So badly, sometimes, that we try to demand it. The fact is, that these things cannot be demanded or even requested. True honor, respect, and appreciation only come one way. When we become servants.

Elaine, let’s ask the Lord to help us to become the servants he would desire. After all, He did set a great example by laying down his life for us.

Your family in the Lord with much agape love,

George, Baht Rivka, Elianna & Obadiah

The Left’s Intolerance
If you did not understand the Left’s intolerance before, you will now. Ben Shapiro goes off on Cory Booker. But Cory Booker is just an example of how many on the Left view the world. And it is truly frightening.

The Left does not accept anyone who has a different view than they do. And not only that, as Shapiro points out, they believe practicing religion itself equals discrimination. If you are a religious person, by definition, many on the Left feel you are a racist. That belief completely stomps on the Bible and God. It is absolutely ridiculous! Where is America headed? No potential president of the US should have such beliefs.

Blaming White Supremacy
Another issue is how many on the Left blame white supremacy for many terrorist attacks instead of blaming radical Islam. True, white supremacy is evil. We must condemn it. And it is IS responsible for many racist attacks.

But we must place blame where blame is due. And sometimes, it is radical Islam. Actually, often times. And the attack that Cory Booker was asked about was an attack by an Islamist terrorist – not a white supremacist. Some Democrats REALLY need a reality check.

Do Dogs Go to Heaven?

Many of us have felt the heartache that comes from losing a family pet. And to soothe the pain, we may begin to wonder where are they now? Will we ever see them again? Do dogs go to heaven?

Recently, I sat across the table from a precious five-year-old girl in a kid’s church classroom and asked her how I could pray for her. Without missing a beat, she asked me to pray for her because her dog, whom she loved dearly, had recently died. My heart broke with her words. I could see on her face the pain she felt over losing her doggy friend, and so we prayed.

The Bible doesn’t give an outright answer on this question, but we as we dig into Scripture, we can piece together a conclusion on this tender topic. Let’s set the stage well for this discussion by looking at what heaven is and who will find their way to it.

Heaven is Better Than We Know
When you picture heaven, what is it that you see? Do you think of streets of gold and of beholding Jesus face to face? Do you think of seeing loved ones that have passed on? Or maybe the promises of Revelation 21:4 come to mind, “There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.”

No matter the picture you see, it is limited to the abilities of the human mind to imagine something that is entirely of God. Even our best guess of the kinds of joy heaven holds can’t come close to what it will really be like.

1 Corinthians 13:12 puts it this way, “For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.” Seeing the reflection of your children in the mirror is nothing in comparison to picking them up, swirling them around and holding them close to your chest. In the same way, our experience of heaven will be infinitely better than our small thoughts of what it may be like.

Heaven Is for Those Who Are Saved
There is only one way to enter heaven and it is through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). Anyone who believes in their heart and confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord will be saved (Romans 10:9). Whoever believes in Jesus will not perish but will have everlasting life (John 3:16).

Based on these verses alone we can start to form a conclusion. Heaven will only be good and full of every kind of joy, so whether we see animals there or not, we will not feel sorrow, grief or longing for what was on earth.

We also see that admission to heaven is granted to those who believe and confess Christ; these are two things animals cannot do. Jesus never once in all his ministry made an effort to bring salvation to an animal. In fact, in Mark 5:11-13, he actually allowed a legion of demons to enter a herd of pigs, which led to their death. But we have a few more passages of Scripture to search before we reach our final conclusion.

God Created Animals for a Good Purpose
The creation of all animals happened on days five and six of creation. Sea animals and birds were created on day five and God said they were good. Land animals were created on day six, the same day that humans were created. Maybe this was symbolic of the special relationship people would have with the animals that walk the same ground they do? We can’t be sure, but it’s possible.

Ultimately, God created animals to be ruled over by humans. Animals are a gift and responsibility for men to steward, they aren’t equals to men in the eyes of God.

God Created Man in His Image
The earth, sky, sun, stars, moon and animals were all created by the words of God. He spoke them into existence. But when God says that he is going to make man in his image in Genesis 1:26, he takes an approach to creation that he doesn’t take with any other thing on the earth.

He scoops dust and forms a man and later forms the woman from the man. And he breathes his breath of life directly into them. God made them to reflect him, he made them with spiritual qualities that no other being has. You and I have the breath of God in us and we are image bearers of the Lord in the way that no animal ever could be.

Only Humans Have a Soul
Because we are uniquely created in the image of God, we are the only residents of earth that have a soul. Our soul is the inner part of us that is indwelled by the Holy Spirit. It is the part of us that is more than just flesh and bone. The part of us that we can’t completely understand or describe, but that we know exists.

When a soul that has been saved by belief and confession of Christ dies, it goes to heaven where God gives it a new, perfected body to house it (2 Corinthians 5:2). Ecclesiastes 12:7 says, “and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.” We have the Spirit of God in us, and it is our spirit that returns to God in heaven. Animals don’t have this spirit and therefore, we are making a stronger case that they are not in heaven.

At this point, our conclusion seems to be very heavily leaning towards animals, including our beloved pets, not finding a residence in heaven after they die. But we can’t end here, there’s one more of Scripture that can’t be ignored.

Animals are Listed Among the Residents of the New Heaven
In two separate descriptions of the New Heaven and New Earth, the Bible mentions that animals will be present. Isaiah 11:11 says, “The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them.”

This description of peaceful relations between species of animal continues for three more verses and a similar passage is found in Isaiah 65:25. There are no household pets mentioned in either place, but the fact that animals at all are mentioned means it is completely possible that we could see dogs and cats as well.

This is where all of our digging into what the Bible literally says about heaven meets the very first point we made head on. Heaven is better than we know. Therefore, it is entirely possible, that because of the joy and happiness animals bring, God will bring them into eternity with us.

We won’t know until we get there whether or not our animals will be with us in heaven, but we can be assured that whether they are or not, we aren’t going to feel any lack or longing! God’s presence will be enough!

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) has been caught using the pseudonym “Pierre Delecto” to defend his own honor on Twitter.
Everything about this story says so much about Mitt Romney: his pettiness, his insecurity, his lack of character, honesty, and decency, starting with how it all unraveled: Romney doing business with the establishment media — in this case, the far-left Atlantic and activist-reporter, McKay Coppins, who was originally hired at BuzzFeed to destroy Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg has jumped to third in Iowa, according to a poll of the state released on Monday.
The Suffolk University/USA TODAY poll shows that Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren are battling for the lead with Biden at 18 percent and Warren at 17 percent.
The South Bend mayor tangled with Sen. Elizabeth Warren in the last Democrat presidential primary debate, suggesting some of her policies were too radical, especially her proposal to end private health insurance in favor of Medicare for all.
Buttigieg is at 13 percent, up seven points from the poll taken in June.

Impeachment of President Donald Trump is the top issue for only six percent of registered voters in Iowa, according to a recent poll — a small percentage compared to the amount of attention the House Democrats are giving the issue.
The new poll by Iowa Emerson College showed that only six percent of registered voters in Iowa said impeachment was their top issue. In comparison, 33 percent said the economy was the top issue, 19 percent said health care, and ten percent said social issues.

Even among just Democrats, 25 percent said health care was the most important issue, 17 percent said the economy, and 14 percent said the environment. Among Republicans, 55 percent said the economy was the most important issue, 14 percent said immigration. Among independents, 27 percent said the economy was the most important issue and 24 percent said health care.

The United States military under President Donald Trump has reduced America’s force in Afghanistan, according to the top commander in the region.
During a news conference in Kabul on Monday, American commander Gen. Austin “Scott” Miller announced the force reduction as Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper visited the region.
That leaves about 12,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
Under President Obama, the number of troops in Afghanistan surged to 100,000 in 2011 before gradually reducing the number to about 8,400 before leaving office.
In 2017, Trump deployed additional troops in Afghanistan to bring the force to about 14,000 but cautioned against making announcements on planned troop withdrawals.
“Conditions on the ground — not arbitrary timetables — will guide our strategy from now on,” he said, outlining the new strategy in Afghanistan.
President Trump declared the peace talks with the Taliban “dead” in September after they took responsibility for a terrorist attack that killed an American soldier, and promised to escalate attacks in the region.
“We’d like to get out, but we’ll get out at the right time,” he said.
American troops are also withdrawing from Syria to Iraq, although the president appears willing to leave a few hundred in the region to protect the country’s oil resources from falling into the hands of terrorists.

GOP Rep. Palmer: ‘Schiff’s a Liar — I Hope It Gets Back to Him’

For the most part, Rep. Adam Schiff’s (D-CA) Republican colleagues have low regard for the House Intelligence Committee chairman, who is leading the push for President Donald Trump’s impeachment.
During an appearance on Birmingham, AL radio’s Talk 99.5, Rep. Gary Palmer (R-AL), the chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, put that on display.
He was asked about the whereabouts of the so-called “whistleblower” claiming a quid pro quo between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was promoted by Schiff.
“I was in a briefing Wednesday with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and I was with the senator Thursday morning, and I am at the point the story has changed on the whistleblower that I am now referring to that individual, whoever it is, as an unnamed collaborator in effort to overthrow a president,” Palmer said on Monday’s “Matt & Aunie Show.”
The Alabama Republican went on to call Schiff a liar, which Palmer said was demonstrated by his track record.

Transgender Cyclist Rachel McKinnon continues to smash women’s cycling records, the latest being a “world record” in the women’s 200m sprint.
McKinnon, 37, not only set the record in the 35-39 category but also won the 200m gold medal at the Masters Track Cycling World Championships on Sunday. Canadian McKinnon beat out American Dawn Orwick, and Denmark’s Kirsten Herup Sovang, who took silver and bronze behind McKinnon.
Dr. Rachel McKinnon, who was born a man, also won the 2018 UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships in Los Angeles in 2018, among other events.
But not everyone was thrilled by the big win.
Jennifer Wagner-Assali, a competitor who lost to McKinnon in the past — but did not race last weekend — called McKinnon’s win “unfair,” the Times reported.
“It was an unfair race, and I accepted that when I pinned on the number, and I tried to do my best to overcome the unfairness,” Wagner-Assali said of McKinnon’s dominance over natural-born female racers.
“I do feel that hard-fought freedoms for women’s sport are being eroded. If we continue to let this happen, there will be men’s sports and co-ed sports, but there won’t be any women’s sports,” Wagner-Assali added.

Indeed, Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper said Monday that Pentagon officials are weighing a plan to keep a “residual force” of U.S. troops around oil fields in Syria.
Those residual forces would be there to “deny access, specifically revenue to ISIS and any other groups that might want to seek that revenue to enable their own malign activities,” Esper explained. Esper confirmed over the weekend that President Trump had ordered troops withdrawing from Syrian Kurdistan, or Rojava, to move to Iraq. Congress has yet to vote on and pass an authorization,  which would allow President Trump order troops be sent in to protect the Syrian Kurdish people.

Police say at least four people have been killed and dozens injured after security forces in southern Bangladesh opened fire on a crowd of Muslim demonstrators protesting against an alleged social media post undermining the prophet Muhammad.
Local police chief Sarkar Mohammad Kaisar told the Associated Press that the violence took place Sunday in the southern district of Bhola when demonstrators demanded that the Hindu man who allegedly posted the comment receive punishment for his actions.
The man in question denied posting the comment and said his Facebook was hacked.
Bangladesh’s leading newspapers said that in addition to those killed, over 100 people were injured in the incident. Kaisar said that some of the injured included about a dozen police officers who were sent to be treated at local hospitals.
Bhola is 72 miles south of Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Tolerance eliminates justice (righteousness, honesty) — it totally removes moral indignation (proper, righteous anger), conviction (principles, belief), and courage (valor, boldness) to stand for what is right in the eyes of ALMIGHTY GOD.

WICKED NATIONS FORGET
"Let the wicked be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget GOD!  Arise, O LORD, let not men prevail; let the nations be judged in YOUR presence.  Strike fear in them, O LORD; that the nations may know themselves to be only men. Selah" [Psalms (Tehillym) 9. 17, 19 - 20 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

Widely ignored today is the subject of hell, even among pastors, teachers and evangelists.  Although rarely acknowledged, the place of eternal torment is often spoken of in HOLY SCRIPTURE.  Numerous warnings are given because hell is real and it is going to be more fully populated than heaven.  Heed the counsel of LORD MESSIAH Y’SHUA, "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." [Matthew 7. 13 - 14]

GOD'S WORD clearly shows that "No one does good.  The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men to find a man of understand, a man mindful of GOD.  All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt, altogether foul; there is none who does good, No, not even one." [Psalms (Tehillym) 14. 1 - 3 Tanakh, Kethuvim; Romans 3. 10 - 18]  Furthermore "the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one." [1 John 5. 19]  Since all are wicked (Hebrew: rasha – bad person, morally wrong, defiant, rebellious, condemned, guilty), we realize that ones who are cast into hell are those who remain so, who "forget GOD" and refuse to seek HIM.

Nations all over the world have turned their backs on the RIGHTEOUS & JUST CREATOR, wickedness is legislated while righteousness, holiness, and integrity are totally eliminated from the laws of man.  Just as the LORD GOD foretold — they would call evil good, and good evil, even changing the laws to accommodate their immoral depravities.  The wicked leaders speak pompous words against the MOST HIGH, persecute the saints of the MOST HIGH, and intend to change times and law. [see Daniel/Danyel 7. 25]  What treasures we have forfeited by disobedience.

However, the saints in full sincerity of heart and mind, will seek the LORD GOD with all their might — "for the wise man of intelligence, the path of life winds upward that he may turn away from hell below." [Proverbs (Mishle) 15. 24 Tanakh, Kethuvim]  GOD sent HIS CHERISHED, ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON to die for the ungodly while we were still wicked sinners. [Romans 5. 6]  Blessed are those who serve the LORD in fear and put their trust in HIM.

Oh that every man would return to genuine love of GOD and faithfully trust HIM and HIS REVEALED WORD OF TRUTH, that we would be a holy people in every nation, HE would make us a praise and a name in honour.  In MESSIAH, Y’SHUA OF NAZARETH, I rejoice in HIS lovingkindness.  Yes! — and I will continue to rejoice in the LORD my GOD!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
O come...let us adore HIM!  Praised are YOU, O LORD, the HOLY ETERNAL GOD.  We render thanks to YOU that YOU sanctified us through YOUR WORD through which we gain freedom of the soul which comes through obedience to YOUR commandments.
May ALMIGHTY GOD’S love and peace shine out of each of us...as we bow in adoration before the KING OF GLORY ... bright enough for all to see, clear enough for all to follow.

Day 25 of Repentance  Paul, wrote to Timothy, his son in the faith, about a specific category of people when he says — "And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not." [1 Timothy 5:13]  The ruling directive at work here applies to all of us.  It is so easy to allow gossip to show up in our interactions.  We may even declare that we are expressing a request for prayer, when the basic effect is still gossip.  “Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]

“L'Shana Tova Tikateiv V'Tichateim” May you be written and sealed for a good year.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Sitting in the Sukkah reminds us to be aware of and grateful for the SOVEREIGN ONE'S absolute, all-encompassing protection.

HO'SHANAH RABBAH
"You shall dwell in booths for seven days; all who are native Israelites shall live in booths, in order that future generations may know that I made the Israelite people live in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I am the LORD your GOD." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 42 - 43 Tanakh, Torah]

Ho'Shanah Rabbah is the name of the seventh day of Sukkot, and is a holy-day in itself.  It is the final day of Chol Hamo’ed Sukkot (the intermediate days of Sukkot).  In BIBLE times, the Jews who came to celebrate the Feast carried lights and torches to the Temple area illuminating most of Jerusalem and surrounding areas.   It was on the last day of Sukkot, the day of the Great Ho'Shanah, while the people rejoiced, the water being poured forth and the priests blew the trumpets, the Levites were singing the Great Hallel (Praise) and the people were praying, "Ho'Shanah, hatshlichana (Save now, I pray, O LORD; O LORD, I pray, send us prosperity!)!" [Psalms (Tehillym) 118. 25 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

The LORD Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH stood in their midst to tell them that HE was the answer to all their celebration!  Y’SHUA knew that a drought existed in their hearts as Isaiah stated, "All who thirst, come to the waters." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 55. 1 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  "The LORD will guide you always; HE will satisfy your thirst in parched places...and you will be like a watered garden, like a spring whose waters do not fail." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 58. 11 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  Thus, the LORD Y’SHUA declared to them — "If anyone thirsts, let him come to ME and drink.  He who believes in ME, as the SCRIPTURE has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." [John 7. 37 - 38]  By this, the LORD JESUS was speaking of the HOLY SPIRIT, which they that believe on HIM should receive.

Oh Yes!  The LORD Y’SHUA is the RAIN for which the people prayed.  HE is the LIGHT of the world, the GLORY that fills the Temple.  HE is the WINE poured out with the water, as well as the WATER OF LIFE.  Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH is the LORD OF THE HARVEST, the GREAT INGATHERER!   Some glorious day there shall be a greater ingathering of a greater harvest which John describes. . . "After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the LAMB, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation (Ho'Shanah) belongs to our GOD WHO sits on the Throne, and to the LAMB!" [Revelation 7. 9 - 10]

The Sukkot foreshadows MESSIAH'S PROTECTIVE PRESENCE over Israel during HIS Thousand-Year Kingdom Reign.  The HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL promised this covenant of friendship with the children of Jacob: "I will place MY Sanctuary among them forever." [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 37. 27 Tanakh, Torah]  As we eagerly await in imminent expectation for that glorious time, may we be even more urgently faithful to obey and serve as our LORD & KING commissioned, that we may dwell forever with HIM in that Heavenly Sukkah.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
With GOD'S help, the Jewish people will refuse to be "Weeping Willows" any more.
"Chag Sameyach — a joyous Sukkot to you and yours, may these days be extraordinary and kept sacred!"
Festival of Booths, Day 7 — HO’SHANNAH RABBAH [Numbers 29:26-34]— Great Ho’Shannah

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
"More than Israel has kept the Sabbath, it is the Sabbath that has kept Israel ." [Ahad Ha'Am - A Hebrew Essayist]

SABBATH REST
"The heavens and the earth were finished and all their array.  On the seventh day ELOHIYM finished HIS work that HE had been doing; and HE ceased (rested) on the seventh day from all HIS work that HE had done.  And ELOHIYM blessed the seventh day and declared it holy; because on it GOD rested and ceased from all HIS work of creation that HE had done." [Genesis (Bereshith) 2. 1 - 3 Tanakh, Torah]

There are three words for GOD'S Holy Sabbath:  The first is shabbat meaning to rest, to cease, to repose, to complete.  CREATOR GOD "sabbathed (rested)" from HIS work of creation.  HE could Sabbath because the (first) creation was completed.

The second word is nuach meaning rested, to be comforted, consoled, to settle down.  OMNIPOTENT GOD could Sabbath because HE was content and satisfied with the work HE had done.

Shabbat-naphash is the third word and translated means rested, refreshed, re-spirited, restored.  The ALMIGHTY AUTHOR & FINISHER of all creation could Sabbath because HE was refreshed in the perfect work of HIS creation!

For man, Sabbath was always a special day set apart by the HOLY ONE; and it was given to Israel as a commandment at Mount Sinai, "Tomorrow is a day of rest, a Holy Sabbath of the LORD... Six days you shall gather it (manna); on the seventh day, Sabbath — there will be none.  Mark that the LORD has given you the Sabbath.  So the people Sabbathed on the seventh day." [Exodus (Shemot) 16. 23 - 30 Tanakh, Torah]  Realize, it is the people of GOD who rested — they had been delivered from bondage of sin and death and could now rest!

"The seventh day is a Sabbath of the LORD your GOD; you shall not do any work — you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your ox or your ass, or any of your cattle, or the stranger in your settlements, so that your male and female slave may REST as you do.  Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt and the LORD your GOD freed you and brought you out from there with HIS MIGHTY HAND and OUTSTRETCHED ARM; therefore the LORD your GOD has commanded you to observe the Sabbath Day." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 5. 14 - 15 Tanakh, Torah]

Sabbath is a shadow of things to come. . ."Come to ME, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you Sabbath (rest).  Take MY yoke upon you and learn from ME, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find Rest (Sabbath) for your souls." [Matthew 11. 28 - 29]  "There remains therefore a rest for the people of GOD.  For he who has entered his rest has himself also ceased from his works as GOD did from HIS." [Hebrews 4. 9 - 10]

The Sabbath is a reminder of the two worlds — this current one and the world to come.  And Sabbath is an example of both worlds; for the Sabbath is joy, holiness, and rest.  Joy is part of this world; Holiness and Rest are something of the world to come.

What an overflowing-abundance of wealth there is in Sabbath (Day of Rest) for those who have entered into the NEW COVENANT and found their freedom, their delight, their rest in the LORD MESSIAH Y’SHUA — "LORD OF THE SABBATH" . . . those who are now leaning upon the everlasting arms of JESUS their BELOVED REDEEMER and are kept by the DOVE OF HEAVEN, the HOLY SPIRIT WHO dwells in them .

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Welcome Sabbath Come, my dear friend, let us go out to meet the Sabbath, the Queen!  Come, O Bride, the Sabbath presence is eagerly awaited, and joyously welcomed!

Sukkot – “Festival of Booths” [Exodus 33:12 - 34:26; Numbers 29:17-22; Ezekiel 38:18 - 39:16; John 7:31-43]

Be pleased, O LORD our GOD, to fortify us by YOUR commandments, and especially by the commandment of the seventh day, this great and holy Sabbath, given for our rest and repose in love in accordance with the teaching of YOUR will.  In YOUR favor, O LORD our GOD, grant us such repose that there be no trouble, grief or lamenting on the day of our rest.  Let us, O LORD, behold the consolation of Zion and the rebuilding of Jerusalem, YOUR Holy City, for YOU are the GOD of our salvation and consolation in WHOM we find great joy and pleasure.
Wishing you a joyful Chag Sameyach — a joyous Sukkot — Feast of Booths Day 5
Shabbat Chol Hamo’ed - Festival Weekly Sabbath.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

Delrifkah: HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. - Page 2 Empty Re: Delrifkah: HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
A man's service to ALMIGHTY GOD is sincere when he wants no publicity for it.

PARALLELISMS OF JONAH
The Book of Jonah is read during Yom Kippur in order to teach us that the compassion of the ALMIGHTY, TRUE & LIVING GOD extends over all that HE has created. Jonah was angry with the CREATOR for not destroying Nineveh. Jonah confused GOD'S hatred of evil in people for GOD'S abhorrence of the evil person. The mercy and compassion of the OMNIPOTENT ONE for the people of Nineveh is available to us today.

The ETERNAL KING does not think we are beyond hope. HE does not condemn us without an AVENUE OF REPENTANCE open to all who will receive HIM: "For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON, that whoever believes in HIM shall not perish but have everlasting life. For GOD did not send HIS SON into the world to condemn the world, but that the world, through HIM, might be saved." [John 3. 16 - 17] The government will be laid on the shoulders of MESSIAH Y’SHUA the KING and peace will never end. [Isaiah/Yeshayah 9. 6a, 7b; 22. 22]

Jonah is called. Jonah was in the light; Nineveh in darkness. Likewise, Israel and the nations. Israel was called to show the light of the LORD to the nations.
Jonah is disobedient. Israel became apostate and turned merchant. Israel became a curse to the world as did Jonah to the sailors.
Jonah is in trouble. It is thus with the Jews, trouble has come upon us and we are tossed about by the sea of nations.
Jonah does not deny GOD or his nationality. So with the Jews; we still believe in ONE GOD, and confess ourselves as Jews.
Jonah is cast overboard. So Israel is cast away in part for a time, as at present.
Sailor’s conversion. So the Gentiles turned to GOD on the fall of Israel.
Jonah is miraculously preserved. So is Israel among the nations — except for a remnant, spiritually dead, yet preserved by the LORD GOD of all flesh.
Jonah was not digested by the big fish. The Jew is not digested by the nations, he is still a Jew. Assimilation fails!
Jonah is restored. So will Israel. "Salvation (our deliverance) is of the LORD. Selah" [Psalms (Tehillym) 68. 20 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
Jonah is commissioned the second time and he obeyed. So will Israel!
Nineveh is spared. So will the world be spared, those who repent at the preaching of restored Israel.

When Israel's eyes are opened to behold their MESSIAH, Y’SHUA OF NAZARETH, all the world will be glad and rejoice with the SIMCHAT TORAH (JOY OF THE LAW). May that time come soon, and in our time!

All in all, the story of Jonah is a grand historical picture of the MESSIAH’S Resurrection and Mission to all nations. Joppa, is the town from where Jonah embarked to avoid preaching to another nation. This was the very same town the LORD GOD chose some 800 years later to tell Peter to receive men of other nations. [Acts 10] It is also a prophetic picture of Y’SHUA’S resurrection on the "third day." [Matthew 12. 40]

We are grateful to YOU, our LIVING & ETERNAL KING for YOU have mercifully restored our soul within us, YOUR faithfulness is immeasurable!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Sabbath of Ha’Azinu – “Give Ear” [Reading: Deuteronomy 32:1-52; 2 Samuel 22:1-51; John 6:26-35]
Our prayer as we welcome Sabbath: HOLY ETERNAL ONE, give us the kindness to hear with compassion, to offer support, loving comfort and care to all we meet. Give us the courage to do what is needed, the wisdom to choose what is right and most fair. Give us the vision to see what is possible. Give us the faith that will help pave the way for a present that’s hopeful, a future that’s peaceful — give us the heart to bring joy to each day. Thank YOU, ALMIGHTY GOD for making us a needy people, ever looking to YOU, the AUTHOR & FINISHER of our faith. Keep us ever mindful to praise, honor and obey YOU, O GOD our MAKER. May the days following be filled with great joy as we prepare for Sukkot — Feast of Tabernacles.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
In Jerusalem, the ALMIGHTY ONE is not a theory but the TANGIBLE PRESENCE.

AKEL-DAMA
"The chief priests took the silver pieces and said — It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because they are the price of blood.. — And they consulted together and bought with them the potter's field to bury strangers in. Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day." [Matthew 27. 6 - 8] "And it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem; so that field is called in their own language, Akel-Dama, that is, Field of Blood." [Acts 1. 19]

This place, Akel-Dama, is the field that was purchased with Judas Iscariot's betrayal money. A portion of land could not have been more fitly named. The dishonest, unofficial delegates of Judas' estate purchased this portion of land after Judas committed suicide. Be it known, however, that "the blood" he sold to acquire the price of the field, he had regarded as "INNOCENT BLOOD."

The thirty shekels of silver which consummated this transaction was the set "price of a slave" in ancient Israel [Exodus/Shemot 21. 32], but this SLAVE was none other than the INCARNATE LOVING CREATOR GOD. The Prophet Zechariah, had acted out a prophecy of these strange events more than 500 years before. "So they weighed out my wages, thirty shekels of silver — the noble sum that I was worth in their estimation." [Zechariah (Zecharyah) 11. 12 - 13 Tanakh, Nevi'im] According to both prophecy and fulfillment, this blood money was cast down in the Temple and then used to buy the potter's field. [Zechariah/Zecharyah 11. 13; Matthew 27. 5 - 8]

These and many other such specifically distinct and itemized details in these accounts compose a remarkable type and fulfillment of prophecy, thus a testimony both "DIVINELY inspired" and "DIVINELY foreordained." It is also a striking picture of the price of our salvation, for the "field of blood" symbolizes that Great Field, the world. [Matthew 13. 38] Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH, the ANOINTED ONE is "THE MAN" WHO, searching for the "treasure hid in a field...sold all that HE had and bought that field." [Matthew 13. 44] The LORD Y’SHUA ha’MASHIACH willingly gave HIS all. . . HIS OWN precious life-giving blood; that we, though dead in sins and hidden in the world, might be "purchased with HIS life's blood." [Acts 20. 28] Oh, the love of GOD — how rich, and pure, and measureless, and strong!

Sha’alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
As we bid farewell to Sabbath may gladness reign and joy increase throughout this Season of the LORD'S Festivals!
We sing the song in the Havdallah ritual that exclaims, “the Prophet Elijah, the Tishbite from Gilead, may he come to us soon with the SON OF DAVID, the MESSIAH” — the GREATER ONE that we fix our gaze on.
May the ALL-PRESENT ONE fill our upcoming week with HIS DIVINE PRESENCE that HE may be glorified; and may some of the sweetness of Sabbath be present throughout your week days.
“Tov Shavua — have a good week a week of doing good!” Remember, the smallest deed is better than the grandest, most noble intention.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
He whose works are greater than his knowledge is like a tree with many roots and few branches, of which all the winds of heaven cannot uproot.

MESSIAH, THE KOSHER ATONEMENT
"Make sure that you do not partake of the blood; for the blood is the life, and you must not consume the life with the flesh. You must not partake of it; you must pour it out on the ground like water; you must not partake of it, in order that it may go well with you and with your descendants to come, for you will be doing what is right in the sight of the LORD." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 12. 23 - 25 Tanakh, Torah]

Orthodox Jews are very careful in their method of killing animals for food.. The slaughtering must cause instantaneous unconsciousness and permit the greatest effusion of blood, giving great regard to prevent the slightest unnecessary suffering. "You shall be holy people to ME — you must not eat flesh torn by beasts in the field; you shall cast it to the dogs." [Exodus (Shemot) 22. 31 Tanakh, Torah] "You must not consume any blood, either of bird or of animal in any of your settlements. Anyone who eats blood shall be cut off from his kin." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 7.. 26 - 27 Tanakh, Torah] "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have assigned it to you to make atonement for your lives upon the altar; it is the blood, as life, that makes atonement." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 17. 11 Tanakh, Torah]

The precious blood of the LORD Y’SHUA was drained from HIM for the life of the world. HE was torn by "wild beasts" or "strong bulls of Bashan " according to prophecy. [Psalms (Tehillym) 22. 12 Tanakh, Kethuvim] HE was made "unfit (Hebrew: terefah, tref)" — therefore the Jewish people, as a nation did not partake of HIM. In prophecy they declared: "HE (MESSIAH Y’SHUA) has no form or beauty, that we should look at HIM; no charm, that we should find HIM pleasing and desire HIM. HE is despised and rejected by men, a MAN of sorrows and suffering, familiar with grief and disease. We hid, as it were, our faces from HIM. HE was despised, we held HIM of no account." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 53. 2 - 3 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

But, the LORD Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH was cursed for the sake of the sinner! HE was made "unfit" that the sinner might be accepted in HIM. The LORD JESUS was made sin that all believing on HIM might be made righteous! This was to fulfill the WORD OF GOD concerning the MESSIAH OF ISRAEL WHO is the SAVIOR of the world. For this, I can only bow my knees and humbly thank my WONDERFUL LORD!

Sha’alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
O LORD GOD, CREATOR of all, teach us to seek the good and to be wise. Fill us with zeal for knowledge lest ignorance leave us ineffective. Strengthen our faith, that we may kindle the light of YOUR PRESENCE in the hearts of others. Rise up, O LORD, and YOUR enemies shall be scattered, and they that hate YOU shall flee before YOU. For out of Zion shall go forth the Law, and the WORD OF THE LORD from Jerusalem.
Our prayer is that GOD, WHO'S PRESENCE dwells within us, bless you abundantly. We wish each of you.
Chag Sameyach — a joyous Sukkot — Feast of Booths, Day 1
Our prayers for you and your family is for an abundance of peace and truth to bless each of you as we celebrate Yamym Noraym — High Holy Days..

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

"By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith." [Hebrews 11. 7]

The phrase "things not seen" is used three times in the NEW COVENANT. Interestingly enough, these all refer to the past, present, and future works of ALMIGHTY CREATOR GOD with respect to the things that are seen.

Hebrews 11 is known as the "Faith Chapter" and it begins with the incredible words, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen...By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the WORD OF GOD, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible." [Hebrews 11. 1, 3] That is to say, the material things of this present world were not made of pre-existing materials; they were supernaturally created by the WORD, the MASTER DESIGNER! These things which are now seen provide evidence, or even better confident of the things not seen — that is, of GOD’S creative power completed in the past.

The processes that are now seen, distinct from the materials, date from the time of the Great Flood especially. Before the flood there was a different atmosphere, Noah had not yet seen the diverse seasonal changes, and various other present-day incidences such as rain itself. Until that time "a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground." [Genesis/Bereshith 2. 6] Great changes occurred during and after the flood that were instituted in the days of Noah when "the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water." [2 Peter 3. 6; also see Psalms 104]

Finally, "we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." [2 Corinthians 4. 18] Just as surely as the materials and processes of the present world once were unseen, but are now easily seen, so the future eternal world will soon be clearly seen when the LORD MESSIAH Y’SHUA returns.

"It is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which GOD has prepared for those who love HIM...But GOD has revealed them to us through HIS SPIRIT that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by GOD." [2 Corinthians 2. 9b, 12b] The LORD indeed has done wondrous things in heaven and earth, and even now HIS awesome handiwork continues.

Sha’alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
MOST HOLY ONE, YOU are blessed beyond all hymns, praises and consolations that may be uttered in this world. My soul desires YOU in the night. Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek YOU early; for when YOUR judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Therefore, in the shadow of YOUR wings I will rejoice. HalleluYAH! Amen!
Chag Sameyach—a joyous Sukkot—Feast of Booths, Day 2
The Sukkah commemorates the miracle that GOD gave us in the desert in the form of the Ananei Ha-Kavod - the Clouds of Glory. These miraculous clouds protected us from the surrounding enemies as well as provided us with shelter from all the negative elements associated with living in a desert.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes. Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
GOD does not ask the impossible of us — only the incredibly difficult — so we will know that our strength is in HIM alone.

SEVENTEENTH OF TISHRI, NEW BEGINNINGS
"In the seventh month (Tishri), on the seventeenth day of the month, the (Noah's) ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat." [Genesis (Bereshith) 8. 4 Tanakh, Torah]

Except for Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives, and those animals the LORD GOD brought aboard the ark. . . all the populations of both man and animals on the earth was completely destroyed.  But, Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD SUPREME.  When the ark came to rest in the mountains of Ararat it was as though there was a new beginning on earth.

However, many years later in the land of Egypt the SOVEREIGN ONE told Moses and Aaron: "This month (Nisan) shall mark for you the beginning of the months; it shall be the first month of the year for you." [Exodus (Shemot) 12. 2 Tanakh, Torah] {"In the first month, which is the month of Nisan…they cast lot." —Esther/Ester 3:7}  This timing was the culmination of the series of plagues sent upon the Egyptians.  ALMIGHTY GOD would deliver the Israelites from their bondage as HE sent out the Angel of Death to pass over the houses that had the blood rightly applied.

This passing over was reckoned as "between the evenings" of the 14th of Nisan (in the Jewish calendar each new day begins at sundown) when the lambs were to be sacrificed.  "Now you shall keep watch over it until the fourteenth day of this month; then all the assembled congregation of the Israelites shall slaughter it at twilight." [Exodus (Shemot) 12. 6 Tanakh, Torah]

Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH, the PIERCED REDEEMER died as the PERFECT SACRIFICIAL LAMB, for HE was without blemish.  The LORD Y’SHUA was crucified on Passover, the 14th of Nisan.  However, HE was in the grave for three days, but arose victoriously on the 17th day of the month, the Feast of Firstfruits.

Thus, the HEAVENLY FATHER arranged for HIS "NEW BEGINNING" of the whole world in HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, the LORD MESSIAH Y’SHUA.  Even though the Jewish New Year known as "Rosh ha'Shanah (head of the year)" is celebrated on the 1st of Tishri — the seventh month (Fall season) . . . when CREATOR GOD established the "Passover" — HE also instructed Moses to make "Nisan" (Spring time), "the first of months of the year for you." [Exodus (Shemot) 12. 2 Tanakh, Torah]

As with times, days, and seasons, the GREAT & MIGHTY LORD OF HOSTS can make changes in our own individual lives.  The LORD GOD OF ISRAEL can do what no other power can do!   HE alone is the LOVING ETERNAL GOD.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Enjoy Sukkot, rejoice, be happy, ecstatic by the love of our GRACIOUS & MIGHTY GOD!
Beauty is the unconquerable power of life, the determination to live on despite all difficulties, the drive for eternity.  The etrog tree fulfils this requirement of constant dwelling, for most other fruits are seasonal, but the etrog grows, blossoms and produces fruit throughout all the seasons: in the heat and the cold, in the wind and in storm — it stubbornly persists!  It endures! And in the Jewish view, that is why it is beautiful.
Beauty, then, in classical Jewish sources, means the indomitable (unconquerable, spirited, stubborn) power of life, the determination to live on despite all difficulties, the affirmation of the victory of life over death, the drive for eternity.

In this light, we can understand another striking mitzvah in the TORAH. Concerning the obligation to honor the elderly, the TORAH states: "ve'HADAR'ta p'nei zakein" — which is usually translated "Honor the face of the old person."  The word hadar, however, literally means "beauty" — so what the verse is actually telling us is to ascribe beauty to the old face.

"Simcha Shel Mitzvah (joy in doing good)"  The good performed out of a sense of requirement is not as meaningful as one performed out of desire and with enjoyment.
Wishing you a joyful Chol Hamo’ed — Festival Week Day 3 [Reading: Numbers 29:20-22]

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
From the time of the Exodus — "Freedom" is spoken with a Hebrew accent.

SUKKOT — FEAST OF BOOTHS
"You shall dwell in booths for seven days; all who are native Israelites shall live in booths, in order that future generations may know that I made the Israelite people live in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I am the LORD your GOD." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 42 - 43 Tanakh, Torah]

"Sukkot" is the Hebrew word for the Festival of the Feast of Tabernacles, also known as "Chag ha-Asif (Feast of Ingathering)."  This is the Season of our Rejoicing for the TORAH commandment to rejoice is mentioned more often in connection with the holy day of Sukkot then for any other.  It is a national holiday that begins at sunset this evening memorializing the journey from the land of slavery to the Land of Promise.  Sukkot is called "zman simchateinu — the time of our joy" . . . living in the shadow of GOD'S embrace.

This Feast emphasizes thanksgiving, celebration and a temporary dwelling place.  It commemorates the 40-years of wandering in the desert and marks the final harvest of the agricultural year.  It is the custom to dwell in Sukkah (booths, huts – Jews shelter of faith in GOD’S protection) decorated with various kinds of fruits and flowers.  This symbolizes the house where you and the ALMIGHTY CREATOR will dwell together.

There are nine traditional fruits that are hung in the Sukkah, symbolizing nine characteristics and attributes of the HOLY TRUE & LIVING GOD that HE desires for us to have in our lives.  The nine fruits include pomegranates, figs, dates, oranges, apples, grapes, pumpkins, etrog (citron—similar to a lemon), and the fruit from locust tree (a chocolate-type fruit).  The nine FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT are symbolized by the nine fruits hanging in the Sukkot.  "The FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." [Galatians 5. 22 - 23]  There is a remarkable correlation between the two.

Sukkot is indeed a time of rejoicing, following closely after Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement (forgiveness, covering).  Sukkot begins on the fifteenth day of Tishri, at the time of the ingathering of the crops — a further cause for rejoicing, as one looks with a sense of humbleness knowing the LOVING MASTER, blessed be HE, has prospered and blessed the fruits of one's labor of the previous months.

The seven-day celebration of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles/Booths) is the last of the three pilgrimage festivals, the holy days on which the Jews were commanded to go up to Jerusalem.  A time when all Jewish males over the age of thirteen were commanded to come to Jerusalem to celebrate.  This is called "Sholosh Regolim" — the other two Feasts are Pesach (Passover) and Shavuoth (Pentecost).  Women and children joined these pilgrimages whenever possible.

Sukkot is celebrated for 7 days.  However, the 8th day which follows is a Solemn Assembly known as "Shemini Atzeres (holding back)" — which is also a Sabbath and a complete holiday in its own right.  This speaks of the future earthly MESSIANIC KINGDOM when peace and righteousness shall rule and GOD'S people will be observing the Seventh Day Sabbath during that time they are "resting in GOD" and "GOD resting in HIS people."  Then follows the new day, the New Beginning, the first day of Eternity. . . a Sabbath forever!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5!
"Chag Sukkot Sameyach! " — a joyous Sukkot (Festival of Booths) celebrating the ALMIGHTY ONE'S joyous seasons of life.  Delight yourself by making it a life-changing experience!  Praise to GOD, the LORD OF HOSTS for HE is good, HIS mercy endures forever.  May Judah be saved and Jerusalem dwell in safety!
We were greatly blessed when the HOLY ONE brought us out of slavery from Egypt (Passover) and took HIS people directly to Mount Sinai.  There HE gave us the Law (Shavuoth) to keep us free from slavery (to sin).  Then, gave us Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH...to keep us free and give us true peace and rest (Sukkoth/Booths).
We are creatures of comfort.  We have to push ourselves to move beyond our physical needs and desires.  It isn’t easy, the pull of inertia (disinterest, inactivity, apathy, sluggishness) is very strong.  So the Almighty gives us a boost.  “Move outdoors with me.  Come sit under the wings of my Presence and experience My clouds of glory.  It’s time to let go of your attachments to the material world.  Come outside, leave your comfort zone so that you can embrace our relationship… you will appreciate a change.”
The holiday of Sukkot impels us to live just outside our comfort zone — without the walls and locks and sense of stability provided by the material world that usually consoles us.  On the High Holidays we make decisions about growth and transformation.  It isn’t easy to stick to them — even with the best organized plans.  The Almighty King, when we allow ourselves to live solely under His protection for a week. . . Yes, we are always solely under His protection, but on Sukkot we make it authentically real, understandable, and obvious.  The joy of that experience can carry you through the year.
May these days be extraordinary and blessed as we celebrate the 1st Day of Assembly starting this evening
The Four Species are waved each day (except for Shabbat) in the synagogue, during the recitation of the Hallel prayers of praise.  Hallel is followed by Hoshanot, where everyone circles a TORAH SCROLL.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The HOLY BIBLE is an EXTRAORDINARY BOOK, expressing many norms and principles that have maintained their validity throughout thousands of years.  It proclaims a vision of faith for men that is still valid and awaiting realization.

YOM KIPPUR
"In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, from evening to evening, you shall afflict your souls, exercise self-denial; and do no work at all — For on this day atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you of all your sins — It is a SABBATH OF REPENTANCE — a statute forever." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 29-31; 23. 27, 32 Tanakh, Torah]

Yom Kippur is the day of afflicting your souls.  Perhaps the most important day of the Jewish Year, this is a day for repentance and forgiveness.  This "Sabbath of Sabbaths" is meaningful for true followers of MESSIAH Y’SHUA today.

Jews afflict their soul on Yom Kippur by fasting & praying.  On the Day of Atonement in the Temple, the High Priest would announce: "O YEHOWAH, YOUR people, the House of Israel, have committed iniquity, have transgressed, have sinned before YOU!  I beseech YOU by the NAME of YEHOWAH, make YOUR atonement for the iniquities and for the transgressions and for the sins wherein YOUR people, the House of Israel, have committed iniquity, have transgressed and sinned before YOU; as it is written in the TORAH of YOUR servant Moses, saying —  "For on this Day atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you from all your sins; that you may be clean before YEHOWAH." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 30 Tanakh, Torah]

ALMIGHTY GOD pronounced a terrible decree upon those who did not have a day in which their sins were atoned for.  But GOD OMNIPOTENT, in HIS mercy, has provided the WAY in which everyone can have a Day of Atonement — the ONLY WAY of forgiveness. . . HIS NAME is "Y’SHUA — IMMANU-EL, GOD with us."

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have assigned it to you for making an atonement for your lives upon the altar; it is the BLOOD, as life, that effects expiation." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 17. 11 Tanakh, Torah]

This is a prophecy of MESSIAH, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL to come.  HE would be the INNOCENT SUBSTITUTE.  Even as the innocent bulls and goats of the OLD COVENANT ceremonies who "shed their blood" — would die — and by this death the sins of the people would be forgiven.   The OMNISCIENT LORD OF HOSTS gave HIS SON, Y’SHUA, as THE ATONEMENT for the soul when HIS blood was shed for our sin!
On Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), "Aaron shall take two he-goats and shall place lots upon them; one marked for the LORD and the other marked for Azazel (Scapegoat) ...and Aaron shall bring forward the goat designated by lot for the LORD, which he is to offer as a sin offering." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 8 - 9 Tanakh, Torah]

The goat, on which the lot marked for the LORD GOD fell, was slain — its blood carried by the High Priest into the Holy of Holies and placed upon the Mercy Seat.  The High Priest had already taken the blood of a bullock into the Holiest for himself.  When he returned to the people after their atonement — it was the second time the priest had made his appearance before them!  And so it is with the GREATER HIGH PRIEST WHO came once to give HIS OWN blood.  After the FATHER'S acceptance of the SACRIFICE, when the sins of the people are forgiven, Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH will return at the appointed second time!

"Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the iniquities and transgressions of the Israelites putting them on the head of the goat; and it shall be sent off to the wilderness." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 21 Tanakh, Torah]  This Scapegoat (Hebrew: Azazel) would carry the sins of the people far from them; it was a substitute; it was made sin that the people might be excused from the penalty of their sins!  Y'SHUA ha'MASHIACH was the SCAPEGOAT, for HE was the SUBSTITUTE WHO died outside the city of Jerusalem. . . (in the wilderness — "outside the gate" Hebrews 13.12).  JESUS OF NAZARETH was made sin that we might be made the righteousness of GOD in HIM!  HE carried our sins away from us, removing them as far away as the east is from the west.

MESSIAH has done more than "cover up" our sins, HE has blotted them out with HIS precious blood; they are to be remembered against us no more!   "Much more then, having now been justified by HIS blood, we shall be saved from wrath through HIM.  For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to GOD through the death of HIS SON, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by HIS life." [Romans 5. 9 - 10]

Our WONDERFUL SAVIOR, by the sacrifice of HIMSELF, has inscribed our names in the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE and we shall never be separated from HIM.   No longer is it necessary that a goat or bullock have its blood shed for the remission of sins once every year, for GOD'S LAMB shed HIS blood ONCE FOR ALL.  Jew or Gentile who believe in HIM can rejoice that there is a Yom Kippur for time and eternity made possible through the PERFECT KAPPORAH (sacrificial covering) this UNIQUE ONE is Y’SHUA, THE ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON OF THE LIVING GOD!

Have you found the blood of atonement?  "Behold! The LAMB OF GOD WHO takes away the sin of the world!" [John 1. 29]  Are you trusting in GOD'S SMITTEN LAMB, the SUPREME SACRIFICE?  The LORD MESSIAH Y’SHUA, JESUS — the only ONE WHO can satisfy your soul!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Welcome Shabbos Shabbason! According to the TORAH, Yom Kippur is called "Shabbos Shabbason" — a day of total rest on whichever day of the week it may occur.
O LORD our GRACIOUS & MERCIFUL GOD, YOU have given us in love this Sabbath Day for holiness and rest, the Day of Atonement for pardon, forgiveness, and atonement that we may, in love, obtain pardon thereon for all our iniquities.  On this Day of Judgment, no matter how far away we have wandered, THE KING of Glory desires to pick each of us up and gather us into HIS arms.
O KING, pardon and forgive our iniquities and restore YOUR people; and let our eyes behold YOUR return in mercy to Zion.  Please strengthen the bonds of friendship and fellowship among all the inhabitants of our land.  Plant virtue in every soul, and may the love of YOUR HOLY NAME sanctify every home and every heart.  Praised are YOU, O LORD, GIVER of peace.  We again bless YOU, O LORD, WHOSE NAME is ALL-GOOD and unto WHOM it is becoming to give thanks!
The Shofar is blown 100 times at the end of the Yom Kippur service to signify that the Day of Repentance and introspection has come to an end.  "Pitka Tava!" — trusting the "Heavenly note" in your future is a positive one!

Gmar Chatima Tova! (Literally) A good and final sealing. (Idiomatically) May you be inscribed in the BOOK OF LIFE for good!  [There are five areas of physical involvement from which we remove ourselves on Yom Kippur: Eating or drinking; Washing; Applying oils/lotions to the skin; Marital relations; Wearing leather shoes.]
Days of Awe (fulfilled)  Open the door and the LOVING MASTER will show us the way through.  All HE asks us to do is wake up every day and try.
Day 40 of Repentance  We have come to the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur.  Rejoice in the banishment of all ungodliness thorough our repentance.  Take this encouragement with you:  "Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.  The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the GOD WHO gives [perfect] shalom (peace) will be with you." [Philippians 4:8-9]  Fittingly, my prayer continues: "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10] . . . prepare to meet your GOD!
L'Shana Tova Ketivah vi-chatima Tova — For a good year, you should be written and sealed in the BOOK OF LIFE.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
A thousand probabilities do not make one fact!

ABSALOM, THE PROUD
“Pride goes before ruin and destruction, arrogance before failure.” [Proverbs (Mishle) 16. 18 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

The story of Absalom, David’s third son [2 Samuel/Shemuel Bet 3:3], illustrates many insights into the MESSIANIC Kingdom.  The picture of Absalom’s life is told in 2 Samuel 13-18.  His rebellion is similar to that of a false messiah in HOLY SCRIPTURE.

The account of Absalom’s deeds begins with the sin of Amnon, the firstborn (2 Samuel 13), which would make him the crown prince, parallel to Adam, the first man and crown prince of the ALMIGHTY ONE.  Amnon desired what was forbidden [Leviticus 18:9], Tamar, his half-sister.  Similar to Adam’s desire to eat of the Tree of Knowledge.  Jonadab, the persuasive tempter,  persuaded Amnon to transgress even as the Serpent did in the Garden of Eden.  Amnon commits the sin, just as Adam did.  Wicked events followed Amnon the next seven years and ended in his death.  Deceit was in the heart of Absalom and Amnon from the beginning.

"Absalom didn’t utter a word to his brother Amnon, neither good nor bad, but Absalom hated Amnon because he had violated his sister Tamar.” [2 Samuel (Shemuel Bet) 13. 22 Tanakh, Nevi’im]  Absalom waits 2 years to strike Amnon. [2 Samuel/Shemuel Bet 13. 22-29]  "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” [John 8. 44]

Following the murder of Amnon, Absalom escapes to another kingdom and stays there 3 years, making it 5 years since the incest incident. [2 Samuel (Shemuel Bet) 13. 38 Tanakh, Nevi’im]  This in contrast to the heart of David who wanted to see his son restored, even though Absalom had murdered the first-born of his father.  Through the action of Joab, Absalom is allowed to return to Jerusalem, but would not be able to see the king himself. [2 Samuel/Shemuel Bet 14. 23-33]  So after 7 years into the story, Absalom is restored to his father, King David.

However, Absalom is abating and undermining the support of David among the people of Israel. [2 Samuel/Shemuel Bet 15]  Most of the Israelites are deceived by his royal appearance and telling them what they wanted to hear.  Absalom intends to take over the kingdom from his father.  A direct parallel between the actions of Absalom and the False Messiah that is to come who will also try taking the Kingdom from the TRUE KING, Y’SHUA.  Absolom’s partner in crime is Ahithophel; just as the false messiah will have his false prophet. [Revelation 13]

Several traits are present in Absalom’s behavior that are helpful depicting the false messiah.  Absalom means “father of peace”.  However, his nature shows him to be the most cold-hearted of men.  Y’SHUA warns of the Wicked One to come:  "For many will come in MY name, saying — 'I am the CHRIST'— and will deceive many.” [Matthew 24. 5]

Absalom’s character is a glimpse of the immanent actions of the false MESSIAH:  "No one in all Israel was so Admired and praised for his beauty as Absalom.  From the sole of his foot to the crown of his head there was without blemish.  When he cut his hair — at the end of every year since it grew too heavy for him — the hair of his head weighed two hundred shekels by the royal weight.” [2 Samuel (Shemuel Bet) 14. 25-26 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

The passage not only describes Absalom’s beauty, but goes into detail in his covering (hair).  Consider the strength of Samson, it was in his hair, actually from the power of the HOLY SPIRIT.  Samson was forbidden to cut his hair as he was a Nazarite from the womb.  In contrast, Absalom was proud, his covering was his own vanity.  The Prophet Ezekiel describes Satan and also refer to his beauty:  "You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and flawless beauty.  You were in Eden, the Garden of GOD; every precious stone was your adornment: The Carnelian, topaz, and amethyst, beryl, lapis lazuli, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald.  And gold on the stones beautifully wrought for you, workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created.  "I created you as an anointed cherub who covers with outstretched shielding wings, and you resided on the Holy Mountain of GOD; you walked in the midst of fiery stones.  You were perfect, blameless in your ways from the day you were created, until wrongdoing and iniquity was found in you.  "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you were filled with lawlessness and you sinned, corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor, so I struck you down to the ground from the Mountain of GOD, and have destroyed you, O shielding cherub.  I have made you an object for kings to stare at.” [Ezekiel/Yehezke-El 28. 12-17 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

How exactly opposite is this wicked creature to that of the TRUE & LIVING MESSIAH WHO is presented in Isaiah 53:  “For HE shall grow up before HIM as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground.  HE has no form or comeliness; and when we see HIM, there is no charm that we should desire HIM.” [Isaiah/Yeshayah 53. 2 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

When Absalom approached the City of Jerusalem, David flees into the wilderness.  In the Last Days, Jewish believers in MESSIAH Y’SHUA will escape into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the Serpent. [Revelation 12:14]

In his heart, Absalom wanted to kill his father and all that were with him.  The Serpent, that Old Lying Man of Lawlessness will make war against the saints. [Revelation 13:7]

Absalom is defeated in the war and dies a extraordinarily unique death, he was caught by his hair (his illustrious covering) in the branch of a tree.  In SCRIPTURE, there are several passages describing the LORD Y’SHUA as THE BRANCH. [Isaiah/Yeshayah 11:1-2; Jeremiah/Yirmeyah 23:3-6; 33:15-16; Zechariah/Zecharyah 3:8-9; 6:10-13]  Consequently, Absalom’s pride, destroyed him, just as the Lucifer’s pride brought him to defeat and will bring him “down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.” [Isaiah/Yeshayah 14. 15 Tanakh, Nevi’im]
Beyond doubt, our GREAT GOD of Heaven alone reigns supreme and will defeat all evil.  Praise HIS GLORIOUS NAME forevermore!

Sha’alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Help us, O our GOD, to banish from our hearts all pride and vain-glory, all confidence in worldly possessions, all self-sufficient leaning upon our own reason.  Fill us with the spirit of meekness and the grace of modesty, that we may become wise in the fear of YOU.  May we never forget that all we have and prize is but lent to us, a trust for which we must render account to YOU.
O HEAVENLY FATHER , put into our hearts the love and fear of YOU, that we may consecrate our lives to YOUR service and glorify YOUR NAME in the eyes of all men.

Days of Awe  Day 37 of Repentance  We all should know ourselves well enough to understand that our brothers and sisters are just as frail as we are.  We should not heap unrealistic expectations on them, but we should pray for them without ceasing.  "Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law.  But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge." [James 4:11]  Speaking against each other is no small thing. Ya’acov (James) is reminding us in this passage that when we speak against our brother we are speaking evil against the WRITTEN WORD.  We are, however, to judge appropriately, "You shall do no injustice in judgment.  You shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty.  In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor." [Leviticus 19:15]  "Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]  “Gmar Tov” Have a good ending.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The fruit of a lie is rotten before it is ripe.

SPIRITUAL WARDROBE
"Therefore, as the elect of GOD, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as CHRIST forgave you, so you also must do.  But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.  And let the peace of GOD rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and, be thankful." [Colossians 3. 12 - 15]

The command to put on  (Hebrew: labash) means to wrap around, to clothe entirely — is an urgent demand or request, for a thing which must begin immediately.  We know that kindness, humility of mind, meekness, and long-suffering are fruits of the HOLY SPIRIT'S work in our lives.  But this phrasing — "put on" strongly suggests that an act of the will is involved.  We are to choose to be kind, merciful, humble, meek, patient, forgiving, to love, and maintain the peace of GOD OMNIPOTENT in our hearts and lives.  When we go to HIM for forgiveness, HE is willing to forgive AS WE ASK HIM.  Repentance is necessary; forgiveness is never granted as a blanket free-for-all forgiveness.  This is the example the LORD JESUS set and we are to follow HIS example.

Our LORD & KING, Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH reminded the first century Jews and CHRIST-like-ones that these choices are more important than our physical clothing, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on.  Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?" [Matthew 6. 25]

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to GOD; and the peace of GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through CHRIST JESUS.  Finally, brethren, whatever things are TRUE, whatever things are NOBLE, whatever things are JUST, whatever things are PURE, whatever things are LOVELY, whatever things are of GOOD REPORT, if there is any VIRTUE and if there is anything PRAISE WORTHY — meditate on these things." [Philippians 4. 6 - 8]

We should be more kind, loving, humble, meek, patient and forgiving so our lives will manifest the peace of GOD ALMIGHTY and the great love of MESSIAH Y’SHUA, the LORD will shine even brighter in this sin-darkened world.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Welcome Sabbath Shuvah, Sabbath of Return! Shabbat Vayelech — “And He Went”  [Reading: Deuteronomy 31:1-30; Hosea 14:1-9; Micah 7:18-20; Joel 2:15-27; Matthew 18:21-35]

YOURS, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is YOURS; YOURS is the Kingdom, O LORD, and YOU are exalted as head above all.  All praise and honour are do YOU forever.  Help us, O GOD, to banish from our hearts all vain glory, pride of worldly possessions, and self-sufficient leaning on our own reason.  While this breath of life is in me, HOLY LORD of all worlds, I worship YOU.  Blessings to all who love Zion.

Days of Awe  Day 35 of Repentance   “Gmar Tov” Have a good ending
May you enter each day with joy in your hearts and confidence that ALMIGHTY GOD, in HIS mercy, will continue to use us as HIS messenger of the GOOD NEWS to this needy world. May it be a year where we do good to others; a year full of blessings of health, happiness, and peace.  Wishing you a good year – 5780 [see Deuteronomy 11:12]

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
In choosing a friend, go up a step. [TALMUD, Yebamot 63a]

THE BUTLER & THE BAKER
"The cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt offended their lord, the king of Egypt.  Pharaoh was furious with his two officials, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker, and put them in custody, in the house of the captain of the guard, in the same prison house where Joseph was confined.  The chief jailer assigned Joseph to them, and he attended them." [Genesis (Bereshith) 40. 1 – 4 Tanakh, Torah]

In the course of their imprisonment, the cupbearer (butler) and the baker had a dream on the same night.  When Joseph inquired about their distraught countenance and learned they had dreamed and didn't know its interpretation.  Joseph replied that the ALMIGHTY GOD OF HEAVEN could give interpretations and asked them both to tell him their dreams.  [Genesis/Bereshith 40. 9 – 11]

The cupbearer divulged his dream to Joseph — "Behold, in my dream a vine was before me.  On the vine were three branches.  It had barely budded, when out came its blossoms and its clusters ripened into grapes.  Pharaoh's cup was in my hand, and I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and placed the cup in Pharaoh's hand." [Genesis (Bereshith) 40. 9 – 11 Tanakh, Torah]  Joseph said to the butler — "This is the interpretation: The three branches are three days.  In three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your post, you will place Pharaoh's cup in his hand, as was your former custom, when you were his cupbearer.  But think of me when it is well with you again, and do me the kindness of mentioning me to Pharaoh so as to free me from this place.  For in truth, I was stolen away from the land of the Hebrews; nor have I done anything here that they should put me into this dungeon." [Genesis (Bereshith) 40. 12 – 15 Tanakh, Torah]

Having heard the favorable interpretation that the butler was to be restored, the baker excitedly then told Joseph his dream.  "I also was in my dream, and there were three baskets with white bread on my head.  In the uppermost basket there were all kinds of baked goods for Pharaoh; and the birds were eating it out of the basket above my head."  Joseph answered, "This is its interpretation: The three baskets are three days.  In three days Pharaoh will lift off your head from you and hang you on a tree; and the birds will pick off your flesh." [Genesis (Bereshith) 40. 16 – 19 Tanakh, Torah]

On the third day, just as Joseph had expressed, Pharaoh celebrated his birthday with a banquet for all his officials.  He lifted up the head of the butler pardoning and restoring him; and the cupbearer once more placed the cup in Pharaoh's hand.  But the baker, just as Joseph foretold, was hanged to death on a tree. [Genesis/Bereshith 40. 20 – 22]

The butler, the wine server, was granted life.  The baker who had prepared breads for Pharaoh, committed some sin worthy of death and was hanged on a tree [Deuteronomy/Devarim 21. 22, 23], and the birds ate his flesh.

The communion of our LORD Y’SHUA is pictured in this story of the wine and bread.  The Bread eaten by the birds, speaks of the body of JESUS being torn apart by the whips and cross.  Believers are granted access to the FATHER by this "new and living way which HE consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, HIS flesh." [Hebrews 10. 20]  The Wine speaks of the blood shed in the death of YESHUA to provide a covering for sin, bringing life for those who believe.  "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; it is the blood, as life, that makes expiation.  The life of all flesh is its blood." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 17. 11, 14 Tanakh, Torah]

Our WONDERFUL SAVIOR took our sin and guilt on HIMSELF allowing HIS body to be broken and delivered up in our place.  Y’SHUA proclaimed, "I am the BREAD OF LIFE.  This is the BREAD which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.  I am the LIVING BREAD which came down from heaven.  If anyone eats of this BREAD, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is MY flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world." [John 6. 48, 50 - 51]

Then Y’SHUA continued teaching — "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh (bread) of the SON OF MAN and drink HIS blood (wine), you have no life in you.  Whoever eats MY flesh and drinks MY blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.  For MY flesh is food indeed, and MY blood is drink indeed.  He who eats MY flesh and drinks MY blood abides in ME, and I in him.  As the LIVING FATHER sent ME, and I live because of the FATHER, so he who feeds on ME will live because of ME.  This is the BREAD which came down from heaven...He who eats this BREAD will live forever." [John 6. 53 - 58]

The LORD JESUS shed HIS life's blood (WINE) that all who accept HIS redemption are released from all their sin and can stand clean and are made whole. [1 John 1. 7]  How marvelous to know that you can have this FREE GIFT as a heritage if only you are willing to receive the ONE (SACRIFICE OF DELIVERANCE) WHO paid the full price of love for you.

Sha’alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
In YOUR mercy, O LORD, remember us and all YOUR children as we enter a new week.  O FATHER & REDEEMER, mindful of YOUR Covenant, we pray that YOUR love may never forsake us.  Even as the rainbow recalls this covenant, so may each new day bring to all men the thought of YOUR gracious promise.  Hasten the time when YOUR Law will be written in every heart, from the smallest to the greatest.  Then shall mankind do YOUR will and the reward of righteous service shall be peace.

Days of Awe  Day 34 of Repentance  Make sure every detail of your life “before GOD” has been done away with and you are pursuing LIFE in HIM by the Indwelling Power of the HOLY SPIRIT.  "Let the time that is past suffice for doing the will of the Gentiles — when we walked in lewdness, living in licentiousness, passions, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries." [1 Peter 4:3]  “Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; renew in me a determined spirit." [Psalm 51:10]
“Gmar Tov”  Have a good ending

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
"Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her!  Join in her jubilation, all you who mourned over her — that you may suck from her breast consolation to the full, that you may draw from her bosom glory to your delight." [Isaiah/Yeshayah 66:10–11 Tanakh, Nevi’im]

ROSH HA’SHANAH PRAYER
Our prayer for you and your family on this Feast Day of Yom Teruah/Rosh ha’Shanah is that ALMIGHTY GOD, blessed be HE and blessed be HIS NAME, will make the coming days of this year, 5780, happy ones...
...Not by shielding us from all sorrow and pain, but by strengthening us to bear it if and when it comes.
...Not by making our path easy, but in making us strong enough to tread any path.
Not by granting unbroken sunshine, but by keeping our face bright even in the shadows.
...Not by making our life always pleasant, but in showing us where MESSIAH and HIS cause needs us most; and by making us zealous to do HIS perfect will.
...Not by keeping us from conflict and war, but by bringing us off every field of battle more than conquerors through the LORD Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH WHO loves us most.
The Eternal New Year began in the hearts of those who accepted MESSIAH Y’SHUA as their LORD & SAVIOR.  At that moment the heart was changed and all his sins were cast into the depths of the sea and they now are a “new creation” in CHRIST JESUS THE KING.  The trumpet of the LORD OF HOSTS will sound announcing the greatest event as a new name is written in the LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE!
This New Creation is now awaiting the sound of the ETERNAL ONE when HE calls us Home to be with HIM forevermore.  Truly, this will be the greatest of all events since the days of MESSIAH’S flesh!  O glorious day when the LORD Y’SHUA shall come for HIS OWN — both Jew and Gentile —  who have accepted the redemption HE purchased with HIS death being the SUPREME SACRIFICE on the Altar of Calvary!

We cover you with our love and prayers.  May your relationship with the HOLY CREATOR, the GREAT GOD OF HEAVEN & EARTH grow daily in the little time we have left to serve HIM here on earth.  Amen

Lord, give us the kindness to hear with compassion, to offer support, loving comfort and care; the courage to do what is needed, the wisdom to choose what is right and most fair.  Give us the vision to see what is possible; the faith that will help pave the way for a present that is hopeful – a future that is peaceful.  Give us the heart to bring joy to each day.
May this Rosh ha’Shanah mark a new beginning for you... a year blessed from beginning to end with goodness and promise through MESSIAH Y’SHUA the KING of Glory.  Amen!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
The Rosh ha’Shanah prayers — longer, more melodious, and more intense and inspirational than usual — concentrate on GOD'S KINGSHIP and HIS judgment of all creatures.  "Our PRECIOUS HEAVENLY FATHER, we have no king but YOU.  Help us for YOUR NAME’S sake.  Grant us a blessed new year, annul all evil decrees against us, annul the plots of our enemies, frustrate the designs of our foes, rid us of tyrants, rid us of pestilence, sword, famine, captivity, sin and destruction.  Forgive and pardon all our sins.  Help us return to YOU fully repentant.  Send complete healing to the sick; remember us with favor; hasten our deliverance.  Exalt YOUR people, Israel and those who are called by YOUR NAME everywhere. Hear us our INCREDIBLE REDEEMER, show us mercy and compassion, accept our prayer with favor and mercy.  Do not turn us away unanswered.  Remember that we are dust.  Have pity for us and our children; act for those slain for YOUR HOLY NAME who were slaughtered for YOUR unity — who went through fire and water; act for YOUR sake if not for ours.  Answer us though we have no deeds to plead our cause.  Save us with mercy and loving-kindness.  And, make us careful to bless, praise and thank YOU all the days of our life.  Amen!"
Based on the commandment in Numbers 29:1, one hundred Shofar blasts are dramatically sounded throughout the prayers, "awakening" us to improve our ways.  May you enter each day with joy in your hearts and confidence that ALMIGHTY GOD, in HIS mercy, will continue to use us as HIS messenger of the GOOD NEWS to this needy world.  May it be a year where we do good to others; a year full of blessings of health, happiness, and peace glorifying the Apple of our Eyes – our Great MESSIAH.
  Chag Semayah - Wishing all of you a blessed honey-dripped Rosh ha’Shanah – 5780 (Day 2)!
Days of Awe – Day 32 of Repentance (Yom ha’Peduth/Teshuvah)
“Gmar Chatima Tova” May you have a good sealing.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
"Many a man who does not fear GOD wraps himself in a Prayer Shawl." [-Abraham ibn Esra] Everything is a choice.

TRADITION OR TRUTH
"This shall be to you a Law forever for all time: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, Tishri, you shall practice self-denial; and you shall do no manner of work, neither the citizen nor the alien who resides among you.  For on this day atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you of all your sins; you shall be clean before the LORD." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 29 - 30 Tanakh, Torah]

The "Days of Awe (Yamim Nora’im)" refers to the ten days between Yom Teruah (Day of Trumpets/Rosh ha’Shanah) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) which can alter the sentence of one’s fate if a person repents of his sin, makes restitution, and returns to the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  Thus, the goal of Yamim Nora’im is to return (teshuvah) to the BLESSED ONE with their whole heart, soul and might.  This results in DIVINE forgiveness and at-one-ment with GOD which is only possible through MESSIAH'S forgiveness, extended to all those who embrace HIS "once-for-all" sacrifice for our sin.

Among the many preparations for the awesome day of Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), and perhaps one of the most important, is the seeking of forgiveness from friends, relatives and acquaintances — for actual wrongs done or to soothe bad feelings that may have arisen during the year.  This is one aspect of our behavior that cannot be forgiven by the ALMIGHTY unless forgiveness is first sought from those we have wronged.  Another custom practiced on the eve of Yom Kippur is to bathe (mikvah) so we become pure in preparation for services and prayer.

"I have forgiven" are the eternal words spoken by the FAITHFUL, TRUE & LIVING GOD on the tenth of the month of Tishri, after Moses prayed and fasted for forty days on behalf of the Jewish people.  This day became Yom ha'Kippurim, the Day of Atonement, for all generations.  Any time a Jew (or Gentile) sincerely repents, he is forgiven.  But, this day has a special meaning because of the forgiveness granted to the Jews on this day.

Yom Kippur and all the laws pertaining to it started before sunset, as do all the holidays, with candle-lighting by the women of the house.  A 24-hour (yahrzeit) candle is also lit in the house in honor of the holiday, as it is a day of fasting and we cannot honor it with a special festive meal.  The light also reminds us of the Second Tablets that were given to the Jewish people on this day, for light symbolizes the TORAH.

On Yom Kippur, no work (melachos) may be done and it is referred to as Shabbos Shabbason — a total rest day just like Sabbath.  In fact, the doubled wording teaches us that even if Yom Kippur comes out on Sabbath, the laws of Yom Kippur are observed on that day and are not postponed, unlike other fast days when they occur on Shabbos.

On Yom Kippur, five activities are specifically prohibited:  Eating and drinking, anointing oneself with perfumes or oils, and washing (for pleasure), wearing leather shoes, and marital relations.  Men go to the Synagogue (Shul) wearing white garments called kittels — and women often dress in light colors or white, which symbolizes purity.

The evening service begins with the chanting of Kol Nidrei (all vows) which is intended to nullify in advance all vows and promises which Jews have been forced to make, or have made hastily in emergencies of sorrow or passion.  During each main prayer, we say the "Viduy (confession - "we have sinned!")" — beating the heart with the right hand at each phrase as we enumerate all the sins we may have committed and ask GOD OF HOSTS, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL for forgiveness.  The Viduy is phrased in the plural ("we have sinned!"), for all Jews and Gentiles are considered — one body — and we are all responsible for one another.

One of the unique prayers of Yom Kippur is the Avodah section in the Musaf Prayer, which describes in detail the great and awesome service performed on Yom Kippur by the Priests in the Holy Temple.  This service was highlighted by the entry of the High Priest into the Holy of Holies, the place where the original tablets of the Ten Commandments were kept in the Ark of the Covenant.  Only on this one day a year, and only after much preparation, was the High Priest alone allowed to enter.  Described are his preparations, the service, and the exciting conclusion — when the Jewish people knew they were granted forgiveness. [Leviticus/Vayikra 16]

In these present times, Jews everywhere feel that by fasting and repenting for twenty-four hours in obedience to GOD'S righteous commandment, they are forgiven of all their iniquities and their names are written in the BOOK OF LIFE.  Although they no longer have a Temple, nor a high priest, and no sacrifice, they are so convinced of the need of an atonement, that rather than confess that they have absolutely none, they teach that repentance and the day itself will atone for all sin. [Hilchoth T'shuvah c.i 2.]   But, the LORD GOD stressed,  "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have assigned it to you for making AN ATONEMENT for your lives upon the altar; it is the BLOOD, as life, that makes expiation for the soul." [Leviticus/Vayikra 17. 11 Tanakh, Torah]  For this reason, blood must be shed.

As believers in the LORD Y’SHUA, we know that we have a GREATER HIGH PRIEST and HIS precious blood has been shed for sinners.  Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH is our KIPPUR (Covering, Atonement).  HE is the only means of salvation for both Jew or Gentile and forgiveness is an eternal gift.  "Seeing then that we have a GREAT HIGH PRIEST who has passed through the heavens, JESUS, the SON OF GOD, let us hold fast our confession.  For we do not have a HIGH PRIEST WHO cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.  Let us therefore come boldly to the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." [Hebrews 4. 14 - 16]  "For such a HIGH PRIEST was fitting for us, WHO is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; WHO does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for HIS OWN sins and then for the people's, for this HE did ONCE FOR ALL when HE offered up HIMSELF." [Hebrews 7. 26 - 27]  HalleluYAH! Our GREATER HIGH PRIEST, Y’SHUA, has done it all . . . the price is paid in full; and we, who believe, are bought back by HIS perfect atonement.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
The day after Rosh ha’Shanah marks the Fast of Gedaliah (Tzom Gedaliah – governor of Judea), one of the “minor fast days” in the Jewish calendar year.  It is observed every year on the 4th of Tishri (October 2nd this year).  The fast begins early in the morning at dawn and ends in the evening at dusk.
The meaning of the fast:  After the destruction of the First Temple, some 2,560+ years ago, the majority of the Jewish people were exiled to Babylon.  The conqueror, Nebuchadnezzar eventually eased some of his harsh restrictions and allowed some Jews to remain in the Land of Israel.  He even appointed a righteous Jew named Gedaliah to administer the territory. Gradually more Jews who had escaped from the horrors of the war into neighboring countries began to return to their homes in Israel, the Promised Land.
Gedaliah was realistic about the limitations of Jewish sovereignty, he understood that for their own self-preservation the Jews in Israel needed to cooperate fully with the nation who had conquered their land. However, this political subservience was intolerable to some Jews and a man named Yishmael benNetaniah, spurred on by jealousy from foreign influences arose and ignored the King of Babylon.  On the 3rd of Tishrei, Yishmael treacherously killed Gedalia along with many other Jews and Babylonians.
After the murder of Gedaliah,, the Jews feared reprisal from the King of Babylon and thought to flee to Egypt to save themselves.  Since Egypt was a morally corrupt society, the Jews were in a quandary – weighing the physical threat against the spiritual danger.  So, they turned to the Prophet Jeremiah who was secluded in mourning to ask for advice.
For an entire week, Jeremiah pleaded with GOD for an answer. Finally, on Yom Kippur, he was answered. Jeremiah called the Jews and told them to stay in Israel and everything would be fine.  GOD was planning to make the Babylonians act mercifully toward the Jews, and before long, all the exiled Jews would be permitted to return to their own soil.  But, Jeremiah told them, if the Jews decided to go to Egypt, the sword from which they were running would kill them there.
Unfortunately, the prophet's words did not penetrate, and the people refused to believe.  All the Jews remaining in Israel packed their bags and went down to Egypt.  They even kidnapped Jeremiah and took him with them!  Now the destruction was complete; the Land of Israel was completely barren.
A few years later, as you may have guessed, Babylon conquered Egypt and tens of thousands of Jewish exiles were completely wiped out.  The lone survivor of this massacre was Jeremiah — his prophecy had become painfully true. [see Jeremiah/Yirmeyah 40 – 41; 2 Kings/Melakhim Bet 25.25–26]

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
He who kneels before the ALMIGHTY ONE, can stand before any person.
FEAST OF TRUMPETS 5780
At some point in history, the Feast of Yom Teruah (a more accurate term for the Day of Trumpets — Leviticus/B'Midvar 23. 23 - 25) became the day on which the Jewish New Year is celebrated, more popularly known as Rosh ha’Shanah (celebrated in the 7th month, Tishri) which translates as "Head of the Year."  {Begins tonight at sundown — Sunday Evening, September 9th this year}  This Festival, a truly extraordinary occasion, is both a memorial and a blessing.

The Feast of Trumpets is also called "Yom ha'Din" — the Day of Judgment and "Yom ha’Zikkaron" — the Day of Remembrance.  The Apostle Paul was speaking of the appointed time when he declared: "HE (the RIGHTEOUS ONE) has appointed a day on which HE will judge the world in righteousness by the MAN (Y’SHUA THE ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD) WHOM HE has ordained.  HE has given assurance of this to all by raising HIM from the dead." [Acts 17. 31 – 32]  And again, warning of the judgment to come:  "It is a righteous thing with GOD to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the LORD JESUS is revealed from heaven with HIS mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know GOD, and on those who do not obey the GOSPEL of our LORD Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH." [2 Thessalonians 1. 6 – 9]

However, according to Exodus/Shemot 12:2, Nisan (Passover Season-March/April) is the month appointed by GOD as the "head" of the year, "the beginning of months."  There are two other places in the Hebrew expression where "Rosh ha’Shanah (head or beginning of the year)" is found in the HOLY SCRIPTURE.  ["It is a land the LORD your GOD cares for; the eyes of the LORD your GOD are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end." Deuteronomy/Devarim 11:12  "In the twenty-fifth year of our exile, the exile of King Jehoiachin, the fourteenth year after the City had fallen, at the beginning of the year, the tenth day of the month — on that very day." Ezekiel/Yehezke-El 40. 1]

Our Jewish people celebrate their New Year's Day in a very solemn way, unlike the Gentile practice.  Jews examine their record for the past year and make resolutions to do better the coming year.  According the TALMUD, three books are opened on Yom Teruah/Rosh ha’Shanah before the MIGHTY CREATOR, wherein the fate of the righteous, the wicked, and those of a middle class are recorded.  The names of the righteous are immediately inscribed and they are sealed at once to life.  The middle class are allowed 10 days to repent and become righteous; while the wicked are altogether blotted out of the BOOK OF THE LIVING.

Tradition alleges that Adam was created about the time of the Feast of Trumpets.  According to the WRITTEN WORD OF GOD, when Y’SHUA, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL was born, that was certainly a new beginning.  It will be a time of renewal when MESSIAH Y’SHUA returns some glorious day.  We are in the final days of repentance leading to the Day of Atonement.  Now is the time to make things right with the GREAT GOD OF HEAVEN & EARTH and with each other before the coming final judgment.  Maybe soon, on some Feast of Trumpets, the LORD Y’SHUA will come for all who believe in HIM. [1 Thessalonians 4. 13 - 18]

In fulfillment of the EVER-LIVING ONE'S command, Jews gather on Yom Teruah/Rosh ha’Shanah during the day at the Synagogue where the most prominent feature of the religious ceremony is the blowing of the Shofar (ram's horn), marking the preparation of the Holy Festival.  "Speak to the Israelite people thus — In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe Sabbath rest, a sacred occasion commemorated with loud blasts." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 24 Tanakh, Torah]

On this day, the Jewish people feel that the purpose for the sounding of the Shofar is to arouse them to the serious contemplation of their sinfulness as well as to their duty to lead a godly life.  The Shofar is blown as a summons for the conscience to awake and heed the call of duty.   For this reason, Yom Teruah/Rosh ha’Shanah is known as "The Day of the Sounding of the Horn."  Furthermore, on that day it is concluded that RIGHTEOUS OMNIPOTENT JUDGE, the FAITHFUL & TRUE, calls to memory the faults and sins of the past year, it is also known as "Yom Zikrown" — The Day of Memorial.  And, since Jewish people feel they are then on trial before the JUDGE OF THE UNIVERSE, Rosh ha’Shanah is also known as the Day of Judgment (Yom ha'Din).  The prayers of the Jewish people to our RIGHTEOUS LORD GOD is that the HOLY ONE, blessed be HE and blessed be HIS NAME, would inscribe their name in the "SEFER ha’HAYYIM — THE BOOK OF LIFE."

"Tashlikh (casting off)" is another custom observed before Rosh ha’Shana.  In fulfillment of the text — "YOU will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea." [Micah (Michah) 7. 19 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  Jews go to the edge of a running stream and throw rocks into the water.  In doing so, prayers are recited concluding with the words:  "May GOD cast our sins into the depths of the sea!"

There is another great event which will be proclaimed by the blowing of a trumpet!  This event is going to rock this world as never any event in her history!  "For the LORD YEHOVAH HIMSELF will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of GOD.  And the dead in MESSIAH will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the LORD in the air.  And thus we shall always be with the LORD." [1 Thessalonians 4. 16 - 17]

"Behold, I tell you a mystery:  We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed — in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.  For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." [1 Corinthians 15. 51 - 52]

The ETERNAL NEW YEAR began in the heart of those who accepted the MESSIAH Y’SHUA as their SAVIOR, REDEEMER & LORD.  At that moment the heart was changed and all his sins were cast into the depths of the sea.   The trumpet of the LORD OF HOSTS sounded announcing this great event and a new name was written in the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE!   This New Creation is now awaiting the Sound of the Shofar (ram's horn) which shall usher in that greatest of all events since the days of Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH'S flesh!   O glorious day when the LORD shall come for HIS OWN — both Jew and Gentile — who have accepted the redemption HE purchased through HIS SUPREME SACRIFICE on the Altar of Calvary!  Without question, the incredible wonder of this Festival of Trumpets is a memorial and a blessing.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
”If I forget you, O Yerushalayim, let my right hand wither.” Psalms 137:5
Remembrance (zichronot) is to never forget that the ALMIGHTY loves you — imperfect, struggling, wonderful, one-of-a-kind you.  Rosh ha’Shanah is a time when we coronate (empower, enthrone) GOD as our KING.  The ALMIGHTY ONE loves us more then we can imagine; HE is flawless and infallible.  Everything HE does is for our good.  All that happens to us is ultimately good and perfect.
Have a sweet and good new year — have health. happiness, love, and may there be true peace in the Land of Israel and the whole world; Come LORD Y’SHUA!

The 10 Days of Awe , Un’taneh Tokef: - The Awesome Sanctity of This Day begins at evening, they are from Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets/Rosh ha’Shanah) through Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement).  These days are a foreshadowing picture and rehearsal of the Second Coming of MESSIAH Y’SHUA, the fulfillment of prophetic SCRIPTURES
