WHERE HAS THE JOY GONE?
WHERE HAS THE JOY GONE?
WHERE HAS THE JOY GONE?
Why is it so many born-again Christian believers today are unhappy?
Where has the joy of their salvation gone?
Psalm 51:12 says, "Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation".
That should be every believer's prayer.
Have the cares of this life and the horrific conditions of our world
today caused many to lose the joy of their salvation? I believe
so. We need to pray more than ever before as the psalmist
says, "Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation".
That should be our prayer to have our joy restored.
Has sin in the believer's life caused them to lose their joy?
The answer to that is in the believer themself. Only they can answer
that.
Forgiveness brings freedom from the bondage of sin, from guilt and
fear of judgement.
Acts 13:52 tells us: "And the dsicples were filled with joy and
with the Holy Spirit". We need to stay focused on the Lord. We need
the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Complete surrender to God releases us from worry. God holds our
future. He holds us. The responsbility of our lives belongs to Him.
The joy of the Lord is our strength.
Romans 14:17 says: "The kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but
peace and joy in the Holy Ghost".
There again, our joy comes from having the Holy Spirit working in
our lives and if He is working in our lives, we will be filled with
joy.
Sure problems come, and trials come, hurts come, disappointments,
and we get down in our spirit, but that is a temporary down but the
joy of the Lord is still there. It's when a believer allows
himself/herself to get so depressed that they can no longer pray, no
longer laugh, no longer have joy at all, that the joy of the Lord
has gone from their lives.
Psalm 100:2 says: "Serve the Lord with gladness, come befores his
presence with singing".
People of God, when you get discouraged, when you get down in your
spirit, that is the time to put on your praise tape. That is the
time to sing unto the Lord. Let the joy of the Lord overflow you.
Let him renew you and fill you. Let the joy of your salvation
return to your life.
Stand encouraged.
