Trump to Unveil Peace Initiative Today
1
President Donald Trump is taking the bubble wrap off his long-awaited peace plan today. He and Benjamin Netanyahu are due to make a joint press appearance where elements of the initiative are expected to be revealed for the first time.
After meeting separately with Trump yesterday, Benny Gantz endorsed the plan before immediately returning to Israel.
Palestinian leaders called for "escalation of popular resistance" and urged Arabs to boycott the initiative. But according to Israeli media reports, "Arab Gulf States are likely to voice general support" as long as the plan doesn't give Israel a green light to immediately annex parts of the West Bank. The IDF has deployed additional troops ahead of expected clashes.

Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit filed an indictment of Benjamin Netanyahu with the Jerusalem District Court immediately after the PM dropped his bid for immunity from prosecution. It's the first time a sitting PM has been indicted.
Netanyahu's trial is expected to begin in a matter of weeks, though not before the March 2 election. The PM faces charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust stemming from three separate investigations.

According to Israeli media reports, Netanyahu will stop over in Moscow to brief President Vladimir Putin on the peace initiative, and possibly fly home with Naama Issachar.
Unconfirmed reports suggest Israel released two Syrian security prisoners and transferred Alexander's Courtyard in Jerusalem's Old City to the Kremlin as a goodwill gesture to facilitate Issachar's release. Russia sentenced the 26-year-old Issachar to seven and a half years after she was found carrying 10 grams of marijuana in April.

Re: HONEST REPORTING
Why THE UK?
Since the beginning of the outbreak of Palestinian violence against Israel in September 2000, the media has become another battleground in the conflict. The British media has been responsible for some of the worst and most damaging examples of anti-Israel bias, compounded by the global reach and influence of media outlets such as the BBC.

History of Honest Reporting
It was Yom Kippur, 2000. The Intifada had just broken out and a huge wave of terror had suddenly descended upon Israel. The media in Europe was twisting the story to brand Israel as a bad guy! Jews in the UK were in shock and felt under attack. A few idealists decided enough was enough.
"So there were 4 or 5 of us British university students, kicking ideas around, frustrated and wondering what we could do to help Israel. We came up with the idea of encouraging thousands of e-mails to some of the publications in order to make our complaints heard. But in order to create an email protest, we had to have a website. Otherwise people couldn't respond, and we couldn't communicate with a base of supporters. So we just decided to go ahead and do it: design a simple, basic website. The whole project took only a couple of weeks – you know, when you have 4 or 5 people working together, all of whom are really committed, you can get almost anything done."
"Choosing a name took a lot of discussion. At the time, really short, snappy names were in. So for a time, some of us thought that 'HonestReporting' was too long. We wanted something shorter, punchier. We talked and talked, but eventually 'HonestReporting', long as it was, seemed the best. It was both descriptive and accurate. So we went with it. Later, we all agreed it was a good choice."
"We only ran the project for three or four months, just got it off the ground. Then we turned it over to the people running it now. It had to go professional to reach its full potential."
