Who is Fighting in Syria

From a recent Israeli news article, I have learned the following about who is fighting in Syria. The U.S. is supposedly going to fund and arm the Sunni Free Syrian Army, at least I think that is who we are planning to aid. This makes no sense whatsoever since ISIS are Sunni Muslims. It remains a question of who is whom, as far as I can tell as the rebel forces all run together at some point. They are all Islamists.

Here is the breakdown in the Syria:

ASAAD SIDE:

Assad loyalists, Hezbollah and Iran are with Asaad.

REBEL SIDE:

The rebel forces consist of

(1) Free Syrian Army. They are Sunni Syrian Nationalists who fight against Iran, Hezbollah and Asaad.

(2) Syrian Nationalist Islamists. They want a Muslim Brotherhood run nation for Syria.

(3) Next you have Jabhat and al Nursa which is al Qaida, They want to erase the border between Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon.

(4) Then there is the Islamic State (ISIS) (We trained them in Jordan.)

So, how do we really separate any of these factions? Who will we actually be arming, training and funding?

Ultimately, we are fighting against Iran’s interests in Syria and for Iran's interests in Iraq, and against Asaad in Syria. (Israel doesn't seem to be worried about Asaad as he has not crossed the mutually understood lines to Israel.)

All of these factions hate Israel and the U.S. We are the infidels.

What I worry most about is something will get out of control and Israel will be hit, as in Isaiah 17:1. All of these various factions want to wipe Israel off the map. They hate the Jews and they hate the U.S.A.
