Jeff Sessions Dropped Sledgehammer On Obama, Americans Are Cheering
https://www.usapoliticstoday.org/jeff-sessions-obama-americans/
By Gary Maher - February 20, 20180517
Amid his time in the White House, Barack Obama frequently abused the powers of the executive branch. Presently, Attorney General Jeff Sessions is finding a way to guarantee that no president will have the capacity to abuse his power again the way Obama did. Sessions disclosed to Breitbart that the Department of Justice was ending the “executive branch legal activism” of the past organization, while likewise fighting the judicial activism of liberal judges.

TRENDING: Trey Gowdy: Hillary Clinton’s Crimes are Much Worse Than Anyone Thought
“I think the department did become too political” under President Barack Obama, Sessions said. “Essentially, it was executive branch legal activism. They would take cases or regulations or statutes and expand or redefine the meaning of words in them to advance the agenda that they thought ought to be advanced — an agenda that often had zero chance of passing Congress, where the elected representatives sit.”

“So you have an agenda, and you can’t get Congress to pass it, so you use unelected regulatory officials and lawyers to draft regulations and enforcement policies that carry out a political agenda that the people don’t favor,” he proceeded. “And I think that was a factor in this past [presidential] election, and it was an issue that was known to a lot of business and legal experts. They saw this as a dangerous trend.”

Sessions cited to Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program — which terminates March 5 — as an essential case of “executive branch legal activism.” The attorney general went ahead to excoriate the courts for keeping President Donald Trump from pulling back Obama’s policy.

“[President Obama] said repeatedly that it was not legal, he couldn’t do it. Congress had took up an issue and it failed to pass. So they just did it anyway,” he said. “But now when we tried … to withdraw the DACA policy … we’ve been sued and judges have stopped simple withdrawal of the policy.”

Sessions clarified that the biggest surprise” of his tenure as Attorney General “has been the plethora of [cases] in which a single sitting federal judge — one federal judge out of 600 some-odd — for insubstantial reasons, issues an injunction that bars the executive branch of the government from protecting people, and from being able to fulfill the function for which the chief executive was elected to fulfill.”

He said that the executive branch couldn’t go about as a “coequal” branch of government on the off chance that it needed to “gain approval of every one of 600 federal judges to carry out the policies [the President] was elected to do.”

House Republicans demand public release of bombshell ‘FISA memo’ exposing Obama-era abuses

An explosive four-page memo, which was released to Congress after a party-line vote, alleges extensive surveillance abuses by the United States government under the Obama administration, leading one lawmaker to characterize the memo as the beginning of “Obamagate.”

Multiple members of Congress are now demanding that the House Intelligence Committee release the memo to the American people.

Democrats unanimously opposed the memo’s release to the House — clearly, its contents are not in their favor.

“Shocking, Troubling and Alarming”
On Thursday morning, the House Intelligence Committee voted on a motion submitted by Peter King (R-N.Y.) to release the four-page memo to all the members of Congress. The vote passed but remained strictly on party-lines; Democrats voted against the motion to allow all members of Congress to read the memo.

The reactions by the Republicans in Congress upon reading the memo have been almost unanimous. Many of them are asking for the memo to be released to the American people.

Several lawmakers have described the actions detailed in the memo as “shocking,” “troubling,” and “alarming.” Fox News reported:

“It is so alarming the American people have to see this,” Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan said.

“It’s troubling. It is shocking,” North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows said. “Part of me wishes that I didn’t read it because I don’t want to believe that those kinds of things could be happening in this country that I call home and love so much.”

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz said he believed people could lose their jobs after the memo is released.

“I believe the consequence of its release will be major changes in people currently working at the FBI and the Department of Justice,” he said, referencing DOJ officials Rod Rosenstein and Bruce Ohr.

“You think about, ‘is this happening in America or is this the KGB?’ That’s how alarming it is,” Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry said.

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) says the memo confirms this scandal is even worse than Watergate. He tweeted:

I have read the memo. The sickening reality has set in. I no longer hold out hope there is an innocent explanation for the information the public has seen. I have long said it is worse than Watergate. It was #neverTrump & #alwaysHillary. #releasethememo.

One can only wonder what could be contained in a four-page memo that can cause so much angst among elected officials.

“Preserve our Democracy”
The call for the release of the memo is gaining momentum and has even obtained its own hashtag, #releasethememo. Some members of Congress have urged that the release of the memo is necessary to maintain our democratic freedoms.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) issued a statement Thursday, stating:

The House must immediately make public the memo prepared by the Intelligence Committee regarding the FBI and the Department of Justice. The facts contained in this memo are jaw-dropping and demand full transparency. There is no higher priority than the release of this information to preserve our democracy.

Yesterday Gaetz, along with 65 other lawmakers, signed a letter demanding the release of the memo:

CHARLIE DANIELS EXPECTS PROOF OF 'WEAPONIZED' FEDERAL AGENCIES
'Collusion between the Obama Justice Department and the FBI'

Music legend Charlie Daniels
The fix was in. Hillary Clinton was to be elected president, federal agencies would be weaponized to advance the Obama agenda, the military neglected, “ultraliberal” immigration policies would be created to assure a Democratic Party government “ad infinitum” and the nation’s economy was to be driven further into the ground.
Then something happened.
“God’s grace.”
That’s what superstar singer-songwriter Charlie Daniels believes.
“It was all planned out, Hillary would be elected by a landslide, all the dirt would have been covered up, the guilty parties would go free and ultraliberal immigration policies would have been instituted, a quick path to citizenship established and an unbeatable voter base created to guarantee a Democrat government ad infinitum,” he writes in his newest Soap Box commentary.
“The entitlement rolls would have grown exponentially, the economy would have continued its downward spiral, as the Clinton government would have adopted the anti-business, pro-taxes policies of the Obama administration, the national debt, which Obama doubled while he was in office, would have expanded, and America would have continued to be viewed around the world as a wimpy, out of control former superpower, not worthy of either prestige or respect.
“Our military would have continued to be neglected and downsized and the velvet glove treatment of Islamic terrorists would be maintained.
“Religious freedom would have continued to be stifled.”

Republic of Korea / CCL
A house of cards is about to collapse on the administration of former President Barack Obama.

A top-secret memo that House Republicans have describes the Obama administration’s abuses of surveillance laws is about to become available to the general public, according to one Republican congressman.

“Great news! Our efforts to #ReleaseTheMemo have been effective and the HPSIC plans to begin the process to release the FBI/FISA/Russia memo,” Ohio Republican Rep. Dave Joyce tweeted. “This may take up to 19+ Congressional work days but Americans deserve to know the truth.”

The information in the memo has been so highly classified that it can only be read in a secured room inside the Capitol, the New York Post reported.

Nowhere To Hide
Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee have won the initial battle to get more eyes on the four-page memo, which some say may contain information about the Obama administration’s surveillance of the Donald Trump campaign in 2016. Reports accuse the previous leadership of using a discredited dossier, compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele under funding from research firm Fusion GPS and the Democratic National Committee, as a basis for a warrant to surveil the Trump team’s activities.

Obama officials have denied this claim.

A recent letter, signed by 65 members of Congress, was presented to the Intelligence Committee’s chair, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), that demanded that all members of Congress have a chance to read the memo. In a vote along party-line votes, the committee agreed to meet that demand.

The decision was celebrated by those who want the memo to be exposed but dismissed by Democrats who say the memo is nothing more than a smear campaign.

In a recent interview with Fox News, Joyce’s fellow Ohio Republican, Rep. Jim Jordan, said the committee will likely need to vote again to release the documents, and after that, “if the executive branch gives the thumbs up, they go public.”

The Storm Is Coming
If Republicans are correct, the memo’s release will be a crushing blow to opponents of the president, and could even lead to the end of Robert Mueller’s investigation into Trump’s campaign team.

“If we get this memo into the public square, heads are going to roll at the FBI and the Justice Department,” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) told Fox News on Friday.

Fox News’ Jesse Watters hopes that Republicans haven’t over-hyped the memo’s contents, however.

“I haven’t seen the contents of the memo, but by the sight of these congressmen coming in, it better be good,” he said on The Five on Friday. “The way they’re acting, like this is bigger than Watergate, it better be good.”

If the memo is as damning as Republicans say it is, “people are going to go to jail…and this has the potential to stop the Mueller investigation in its tracks,” Watters said. “It could be all sizzle, no steak, but I’ve never seen congressmen act this apoplectic before.”

If Rep. Joyce’s predictions are correct, we will all know the contents of the memo in the coming weeks. And we can’t wait to see what’s inside.

WikiLeaks offers $1 million reward for access to ‘ObamaGate’ deep state memo

If the reactions of Republican lawmakers on the House Intelligence Committee are any indication, the Russian collusion investigation, the media establishment, and America’s most enduring political institutions are set to be rocked by a scandal of unprecedented proportions.
The dozens of congressional Republicans privileged to read a top secret report which is said to reveal political bias from the FBI and Justice Department would all agree: the appalling report is worth every penny of the $1 million offered by WikiLeaks to anyone who can furnish a copy to the unorthodox news outlet.

Will they get what they’re asking for?
Nuclear allegations
Public interest in the congressional report has generated frenzied demands for the release of the document on social media and popular online message boards. The memo, compiled by Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), reportedly details the nature of text messages between disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page which prove that a discredited dossier funded by Democrats was used to justify Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants of the Donald Trump campaign.

Strzok was removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Trump’s ties to Russia after audited phone records demonstrated a strong anti-Trump, pro-Hillary Clinton bias from the FBI section chief. Incidentally, Strzok also was a key investigator in the probe examining Clinton’s unauthorized use of a private email server, and conducted an interview of Trump national security advisor Michael Flynn, which resulted in an indictment for making false statements.

The dossier referred to in the FISA memo is the result of opposition research primarily funded in 2016 by Clinton and the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and makes highly salacious and uncorroborated claims about Trump. The information contained in the dossier, which includes prostitution allegations, is reported to have originated from Russian operatives.

But Congress appears to have gathered evidence proving that the entire Trump-Russia collusion investigation — and the secret warrants and wiretaps that followed — hinged upon the dossier, funded by Trump’s political rivals using information provided by the Kremlin. Statements from republicans who have reviewed the FISA memo make it clear that the highest levels of the FBI, Department of Justice (DOJ), DNC and Barack Obama White House were involved in funding, formulating, and executing this conspiracy.
Congressional slam dunk
Interest peaked on Thursday night when the House Intelligence Committee voted strictly along party lines to release the FISA memo to the rest of Congress. Soon after, Republicans filed into the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility to review the FISA memo.
“I’m here to tell all of a America tonight that I’m shocked to read exactly what has taken place,” said House Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) in a speech from the House floor. As Meadows continued, the magnitude of the corruption signified by his description is very likely part of what compelled WikiLeaks to open their wallet in search of a congressional whistleblower:
I thought it could never happen in a country that loves freedom and democracy like this country. It is time that we become transparent with all of this, and I’m calling on our leadership to make this available so all Americans can judge for themselves.
“It is so alarming the American people have to see this,” said Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), contributing to the public’s anticipation.
Jordan and Meadows may get their wish soon. If a majority on the committee agrees to declassify the report, Jordan said, then only the president’s signature would be needed for a full public declassification.
Naming names
Statements from lawmakers alarmed by what they read continued to be broadcasted on Thursday evening. Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) argued that the memo shows clear proof of “FISA abuse,” while Florida’s Rep. Ron DeSantis (R) said that the report “raises serious questions about the upper echelon of the Obama DOJ and Comey FBI as it relates to the so-called collusion investigation.”
Of course, there are Democratic detractors familiar with the memo who are downplaying its significance. Liberals like Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, have dismissed the FISA memo as “profoundly misleading;” Democrats are clearly worried about its implications and have voted to keep the findings out of the press.
Appearing on Sean Hannity’s self-titled Fox News program, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) leaves no doubt that the Republican case for corruption is airtight.
“It names names. It says who was involved with who, how different actors and characters we heard about interacted with one another,” Gaetz said. “That is a type of information that we need all Americans to see immediately.”

Bombshell: Classified FISA memo could be ‘ObamaGate’
Milan / CCL
Republican lawmakers have recently warned that the contents of a secret memo alleging government surveillance abuses that may have taken place during the Barack Obama administration are outright disturbing, and should be released to the public immediately — but this may be just the beginning.
Former White House deputy assistant Sebastian Gorka tweeted on Friday that “sources” told him the memo’s allegations were just the tip of the iceberg of a scandal comparable to Watergate that points to widespread corruption in the Obama administration.
Gorka added that alleged wire tapping of President Donald Trump’s phone by the Obama administration would be “the least of the Left’s problems” when this story is fully revealed:

My sources tell me tonight that the “nuclear” memo is just the beginning.

By the end of it all, the tapping of candidate @realDonaldTrump’s phone will be the least of the Left’s problems.

Gorka also tweeted that the alleged Obama corruption was “government-wide,” and insisted on using “#ObamaGate” instead of the already trending #ReleaseTheMemo to press for the document’s disclosure.
“Worse than Watergate”
House Republicans voted along party lines on Thursday to release the memo, which has already been seen by the House Intelligence Committee, to all House members. The four-page classified document, prepared by members of the committee, reportedly described Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) surveillance abuses.

Republican lawmakers who have seen the memo have expressed alarm over the contents. Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) said it was “absolutely shocking.”

“I viewed the classified report from House Intel relating to the FBI, FISA abuses, the infamous Russian dossier, and so-called ‘Russian collusion,'” Meadows tweeted. “What I saw is absolutely shocking.”
His colleague, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), added that it was “worse than Watergate.”

“Preserve our democracy”
Additionally, Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz claimed that the memo would lead to major changes at the FBI and the Justice Department.
“The House must immediately make public the memo prepared by the Intelligence Committee regarding the FBI and the Department of Justice,” Gaetz said in a statement. “The facts contained in this memo are jaw-dropping and demand full transparency. There is no higher priority than the release of this information to preserve our democracy.”
Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, described the memo as partisan and inaccurate, however.
“Rife with factual inaccuracies and referencing highly classified materials that most of Republican Intelligence Committee members were forced to acknowledge they had never read, this is meant only to give Republican House members a distorted view of the FBI,” Schiff wrote in a statement. “This may help carry White House water, but it is a deep disservice to our law enforcement professionals.”
What’s in the memo?
The contents of the memo have been released for all House members to view, but not yet for public consumption. It  reportedly refers to texts exchanged between Peter Strzok — the FBI agent dismissed from the Russia probe over anti-Trump bias — and his mistress. These messages may prove that the infamous Trump dossier was used to justify FISA warrants.
President Trump criticized FISA on Twitter earlier this month, claiming that it may have been used against him and his campaign:
Donald J. Trump
✔️
@realDonaldTrump
“House votes on controversial FISA ACT today.” This is the act that may have been used, with the help of the discredited and phony Dossier, to so badly surveil and abuse the Trump Campaign by the previous administration and others?

Trump later said he has “directed the fix to the unmasking process” allegedly used to target his associates since taking office, and that the recent vote was “about foreign surveillance of foreign bad guys on foreign land.” The reauthorization of FISA currently awaits Trump’s signature.
Until the House committee’s memo is released to the public, Republican lawmakers are limited in what they can share about its allegedly damning contents. For the memo to be released, the House would have to hold a committee vote, and the White House must not object.
