Iowa Land Hurricane
On Monday, August 10, we had a major disaster here in Cedar Rapids Iowa (basically a land hurricane called a derecho), where our offices are located. Power is still out in 80% of Linn County Iowa. We just got power back at the office yesterday and staff is busy dealing with damaged homes, trees down, etc.
Please pray for everyone affected. This event was like a 45 minute tornado. Power poles are down all over. It is very overwhelming. Many have trees in on and in homes, roofs ripped off, etc. We only had about a 10 minute warning. We are thankful that only 3 lives lost, 100 or more injured. More rain predicted for tonight, with many roofs tarped or needing tarped.
