Biden baffled after reporter says 'not one' migrant child separated from family under Trump has been reunited with their parents

President Joe Biden appeared to be caught off guard during a recent interview when a reporter suggested that "not one" migrant child separated from their families under the Trump administration has been reunited with their parents amid the ongoing immigration crisis.

POLL: What scares you the most?
What happened?
During the interview that aired Friday, NBC "Today" reporter Craig Melvin reminded the president of a campaign pledge he made last year to reunite with their parents migrant children who had reportedly been separated from their families under the Trump administration.

The president, in early February, signed an executive order "to launch a long-awaited task force to reunite families separated at the border under the Trump administration."

But Melvin then claimed that based on NBC News's reporting, "not one child" has been reunited. Axios similarly reported early this month that "not one of the hundreds of migrant families" had been reunited.

"I don't think that's true, but that could be," Biden responded to the charge, adding, "The thing is, we don't know yet where those kids are."

"We're trying like hell to figure out what happened," he continued. "It's almost like being a sleuth and we're still continuing to try like hell to find out where they are."

What else?
Since the start of Biden's presidency, the problem of managing unaccompanied migrant children has only been exacerbated as an unprecedented number of migrants — many of them children without their parents or other guardians — have surged into the country in anticipation of lenient treatment from the Biden administration.

But Biden assured, "What we have done is united children with their families as they've come across the border."

He told Melvin that the number of migrant children being held in such facilities has gone down "dramatically" of late, but failed to provide any specific number to back up his claim.

The president's comments are troubling, to say the least, given that thousands of unaccompanied minors were reportedly being held in cramped, cage-like Border Patrol facilities in recent weeks for longer than is legally permitted.

Anything else?
Elsewhere in the interview, rather than owning up to his administration's failures, Biden blamed former President Donald Trump's administration for the crisis.

"The two departments that didn't give us access to virtually anything were the immigration and the Defense Department," Biden said, adding that his aides were unaware of how "considerably" understaffed the federal agencies were due to a delayed transition.

"They didn't have beds," he said. "They didn't plan for the overflow."

The statement claims both that Osbourne voluntarily decided to leave the show because of the impact of her March 10th comments, and also that CBS had concluded in its review of the incident that "Sharon's behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace."

Biblical “Riddle”Solved After
2,000 Years…
It’s no mystery that the bible contains many lost secrets.
God given “riddles” that if decoded, hint towards some incredible power.
These unsolved biblical mysteries have even inspired blockbuster Hollywood films like “The DaVinci Code” or “Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade.”
Well, according to a conservative, Colorado pastor, a biblical mystery has finally been solved – after nearly 2,000 years.
A recently unraveled mystery that may hold the KEY to…
In the pastor’s controversial video
He presents “rock solid proof” to back up his theory, and I must say, the proof is impressive.
Which is why I’ve decided to share his video with you today.
However, if discovering this “biblical bombshell” is important to you, then I suggest you watch the video immediately.
Maybe the pastor is just being paranoid, but he’s absolutely convinced that certain “powers that be” are trying to make his video, and his discovery “disappear forever, because of the severe threat it poses to their financial interests.”
Well, hopefully the pastor is wrong about that, but just in case he’s right – you can watch the video today!

Arizona governor slams VP Kamala Harris as 'worst possible choice' for handling border crisis
NEWS
'Joe Biden has broken our border'
PAUL SACCAMarch 25, 2021
President Joe Biden tapped Vice President Kamala Harris to head the administration's efforts to resolve the current border crisis. Biden said of Harris on Tuesday, "I can think of nobody who is better qualified to do this."
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey vehemently disagrees that Harris is the right person to handle the immigration crisis and went so far as to declare the vice president to be the "worst possible choice" for remedying the massive migrant surge at the U.S. southern border.

Bloomberg article warns it's time to 'start planning for a permanent pandemic'
NEWS
That sounds pretty alarming
SARAH TAYLORMarch 25, 2021
Photo by JURE MAKOVEC/AFP via Getty Images
If you're to believe a Thursday Bloomberg report, it's high time to start planning for a "permanent pandemic."
What are the details?
Bloomberg reporter Andreas Kluth suggested that Americans get ready for full-time pandemic preparation.
"For the past year, an assumption — sometimes explicit, often tacit — has informed almost all our thinking about the pandemic: At some point, it will be over, and then we'll go 'back to normal,'" Kluth wrote. "This premise is almost certainly wrong."
There is no getting back to "normal," according to Kluth, who said that Americans ought to prepare themselves to fight COVID-19 — a "permanent enemy," like influenza, "but worse."
"In the case of SARS-CoV-2 ... recent developments suggest that we may never achieve herd immunity," Kluth continued, shooting down the idea of herd immunity. "Even in the U.S., which leads most other countries in vaccinations and already had large outbreaks, won't get there."
Not even vaccines were safe from Kluth's critical eye.
"That leaves only vaccination as a path toward lasting herd immunity," Kluth wrote. "And admittedly, some of the shots available today are still somewhat effective against some of the new variants. But over time they will become powerless against the coming mutations."
Modifications to existing vaccines, Kluth wrote, will need to be made as the pandemic continues.
"[T]hat process can't happen fast enough, nor cover the planet widely enough," Kluth added. "Yes, some of us may win a regional round or two against the virus, by vaccinating one particular population — as Israel has done, for instance. But evolution doesn't care where it does its work, and the virus replicates wherever it finds warm and unvaccinated bodies with cells that let it reproduce its RNA."
Kluth warned, "As it copies itself, it makes occasional coding mistakes. And some of those chance errors turn into yet more mutations."
Two paths
"Consider two alternative evolutionary paths," Kluth continued. "In one, a virus becomes more severe but not more transmissible. It will cause more disease and death, but the growth is linear. In the other path, a mutating virus becomes neither more nor less virulent but more contagious. It will cause increases in disease and death that are exponential rather than linear."
If the latter is the "evolutionary trajectory" of the virus, Kluth pointed out, "we're in for seemingly endless cycles of outbreaks and remissions, social restrictions, and relaxations, lockdowns, and reopening."
Despite the dire tone of the editorial, Kluth wrote that he is not "arguing for defeatism."
"In the grand sweep of history, COVID-19 is still a relatively mild pandemic," he reasoned. "Smallpox killed nine out of 10 Native Americans after the Spanish brought it to the Americas in the 16th century. The Black Death carried off about half of the Mediterranean population when it first came to Europe in the sixth century. Worldwide, the coronavirus has killed fewer than four in 10,000 so far. And with our science and technology, we're armed as our ancestors never were."
He added that Americans need to be realistic.
"Resilience demands that we include this new scenario into our planning," he concluded. "The good news is that we keep getting better at responding. In each lockdown, for example, we damage the economy less than in the previous one. And we may achieve scientific breakthroughs that will eventually make life better. Our Brave New World needn't be dystopian. But it won't look anything like the old world."

Mexican officials admit Trump's immigration policies helped curb the overwhelming surge of migrants

The Biden administration is searching for answers on how to handle the current border crisis, which has seen the highest number of illegal immigrants at the U.S. southern border in the last 20 years, according to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and a senior official with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. President Joe Biden nullified many of former President Donald Trump's immigration policies, but Mexican officials say that the previous administration's tough stance on illegal immigration helped curb migrants from Central and South America from making the journey north.
The New York Times reported, "The Biden administration's appeal to do more against migration has put Mexico in a difficult position. While Mr. Trump strong-armed Mexico into militarizing the border, some Mexican officials argue that his harsh policies may have at times helped lessen their load by deterring migrants from attempting to make the journey north."
In two months, the Biden administration has dismantled numerous immigration policies and tools that Trump instituted.
On his first day in the White House, President Biden stopped all construction on the border wall.
Biden created a task force to reunite children who were separated from their parents during the Trump administration.
Biden signed an executive action that "will direct the State Department, the Justice Department and the Department of Homeland Security to review guidelines and policies implemented under Trump to determine whether they are in line with the government's desire to promote 'integration and inclusion,'" according to NBC News.
The Biden administration reinstituted the Central American minors program, an Obama-era immigration policy that allowed parents who are lawfully present in the U.S. to request refugee status for their children who are living in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. The Trump administration ended the program in 2017.
The Biden administration announced last month that it would phase out Trump's "remain in Mexico" policy.
"Beginning on February 19, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will begin phase one of a program to restore safe and orderly processing at the southwest border," the Department of Homeland Security said. "DHS will begin processing people who had been forced to 'remain in Mexico' under the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP). Approximately 25,000 individuals in MPP continue to have active cases." The Trump administration made an agreement with the Mexican government that allowed U.S. border officials to send back more than 70,000 migrants to Mexico under the Migrant Protection Protocols.
Biden's proposed "groundbreaking" immigration reform plan is expected to provide a pathway to citizenship to the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants residing in the United States.
On the campaign trail, Biden announced to the world that he would end deportations if he was elected, "In the first 100 days of my administration — no one — no one will be deported at all. From that point on, the only deportations that will take place are commissions of felonies in the United States of America."
Last week, New York Times reporters spoke to Gladys Oneida Pérez Cruz, a migrant woman who paid a coyote $9,000 to get her and her son to the United States. "Biden promised us that everything was going to change. He hasn't done it yet, but he is going to be a good president for migrants."
In January, migrant rights group Pueblo Sin Fronteras issued a statement on behalf of migrants traveling to the U.S. in a caravan, which demanded the Biden administration to "honor its commitments." "We recognize the importance of the incoming Government of the United States having shown a strong commitment to migrants and asylum seekers, which presents an opportunity for the governments of Mexico and Central America to develop policies and a migration management that respect and promote the human rights of the population in mobility," the statement read. "We will advocate that the Biden government honors its commitments."
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador called Biden the "migrant president," adding that so many illegal immigrants "feel they're going to reach the United States,"
This week, Biden's DHS secretary said if "loving parents" send their children to the U.S. border, "We will not expel" them, "we will care for them."
The current border crisis has overwhelmed migrant facilities — some up to 729% capacity. There are reports of children in facilities "akin to jails," forced to take turns sleeping on floors, and only allowed one shower per week.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) slammed the Biden administration over its handling of the massive surge, calling it an "abject failure." Abbott revealed that one migrant facility for minors had unsafe drinking water and another one had a COVID-19 outbreak.

That Baltimore HS where a student made it to senior year passing three classes with 0.13 GPA? The district has been investigating the school since 2019.

The principal and assistant principal were placed on paid administrative leave, to the tune of $365,000 so far

Readers of TheBlaze no doubt recall the story earlier this month about a Baltimore high school student who made it to his senior year passing only three courses with a 0.13 grade point average — and yet was ranked near the top half of his class at Augusta Fells Savage Institute of Visual Arts.
Then he got sent back to the 9th grade — and more than that, his mother said she never knew.
Well, the plot has been thickening.
What now?
Turns out Baltimore City Schools launched an investigation into "irregularities" at Augusta Fells in the summer 2019 and placed the principal and assistant principal on administrative leave, WBFF-TV reported, citing a statement from the district.

But the station said the statement doesn't say that the principal and assistant principal remained on the payroll, to the tune of $365,000 so far.

More from WBFF:

According to online records, former principal Tracy Hicks retired in January 2021. That's 17 months after North Avenue launched the investigation into her school, which still is not complete. Based off her 2018 salary, in those 17 months, Hicks earned nearly $190,000. The assistant principal, Joy Kwesiga, still works for City Schools and is on administrative leave. Since the investigation began, she's earned $175,000. Combined, taxpayers have paid about $365,000 to the administrators of Augusta Fells, as their school has been under investigation.
What did the school district have to say?
The station said Baltimore City Schools issued the following statement:
As part of City Schools' proactive steps upon discovering the issues at Augusta Fells, the principal and one assistant principal were placed on administrative leave pending an investigation and a new principal was brought in. As required by both U.S. Constitutional Law and Maryland Law, when individuals are placed on administrative leave, they are still active employees who are entitled to their pay. This is a step that supports an employee's due process. The former principal has since left the district and is no longer on payroll. The assistant principal remains on administrative leave pending the conclusion of the investigation and disciplinary process, which is expected to be concluded in the coming weeks.
WBFF's Project Baltimore investigative unit said it attempted to contact former Principal Hicks through multiple emails and phone numbers but didn't hear back. Same deal after it mailed her a letter. So a station reporter went to her last known address in Hanover, Pennsylvania, and knocked on the door — and no one answered, WBFF said.

A neighbor told the reporter Hicks moved but offered her cell phone number — and again, the station said it hadn't heard back.

WBFF also said it didn't heard back from assistant principal Kwesiga.

'They do what they're told to do'
Back in September 2019 after Hicks was placed on leave, Jimmy Gittings — president of the principals' union — talked about Hicks, who was also a union officer, WBFF reported.

"Let me be very careful about this. That's why our principals might be doing things that upper management, the public might question," Gittings told the station at the time. "They have no other choice. Either they do what they're told to do, and either be punished for it, or don't do it and get punished."

Gittings also told WBFF that principals are under pressure to improve school data, such as graduation rates and attendance, but aren't always provided the resources to do it — so they have to find other ways.

"You will not get me to publicly or privately say that our principals are doing something that is not right, let's put it that way. Our principals are doing everything possible to ensure that our students are receiving the best education possible. And if they go about it in their way to make sure that a student receives the best education possible, it shouldn't be questioned," he added to the station. "They should not be chastised or punished for it."

Gittings declined to speak to WBFF this time around due to family issues, the station said.

He couldn't tell his sister from his wife, and he didn't know the name of the secretary of defense, and there you are with Peter Doocy mocking him for not having press conferences," Levin told Sean Hannity sardonically. "Now I know why he doesn't have press conferences. He's busy inventing the [vaccines] and figuring out how to distribute them."

"In seven weeks' time this man will have killed the virus. Joe Biden, 50 years in the Senate, not one profound thing. Joe Biden, who had to cheat his way through law school. Joe Biden, who was plagiarizing from people, even as a senator. And little did we know, he's not a doddering old fool, an egomaniac, and a narcissist taking credit for the work of Donald Trump and all these other people. He has been working like no president in American history! He is the modern-day Jonas Salk," Levin said, referring to the virologist and medical researcher who developed the first successful polio vaccine. "He's Thomas Edison! We've never had a president like this; he's fantastic!"

"Let me tell you something about this guy Biden," Levin continued. "He's a liar, he's a plagiarist."

Levin accused Biden of taking credit for former President Donald Trump's work with Operation Warp Speed to fund the development and distribution of a vaccine against the coronavirus in record time.

"The Trump administration, last summer, before we had a vaccine, just in case one of these would work, contracted and paid for 800 million doses to cover 400 million people," Levin said. "On Dec. 23, when only Pfizer and Moderna had received emergency authorizations, the Trump administration went in and they ordered another 200 million vaccinations. Where do you think these vaccines are coming from? You think they're coming from Joe Biden in the basement? They didn't have any idea what the hell was going on. ... In the end, before Donald Trump left office, he had contracted for enough approved vaccines to inoculate 550 million people."

He went on to say:

This speech that Joe Biden gave is the most disgusting, propagandistic speech that a demagogue, even a politician, has ever given. It is pathetic. And you'll notice he and his spokesperson Psaki never tell us exactly what they've done and exactly who's done it. That is so different from the Trump administration.

This is so appalling. This man has exploited this pandemic like no politician has ever exploited a pandemic. When he's sitting in his basement eating his oatmeal that's dripping on his loafers, what does he do? He accuses President Trump of killing hundreds of thousands of people when it's Trump who gets the testing done, when it's Trump who's getting the ventilators and the respirators, when it's Trump who's getting the PPE, when it's Trump who's bailing out fools like Cuomo with hospital beds and so forth and so on.
"The Democrat Party has been a disaster," Levin concluded. "The Democrat governors have destroyed their economies; people can't get out of their states fast enough to go to Republican states. This is a disgrace, what Joe Biden did. And by the way, he says it's a war on the virus, well, who started the war? Communist China — his friends. What did he say about communist China today? Not a damn thing.

"Press conference from Joe Biden? What's the point?"

Border crisis: Record number of migrant children being held in 'grim' cage-like 'cells' for longer than is legal

While the Biden administration continues to publicly deny that there is a "crisis" at the U.S. southern border, new information continues to surface every day demonstrating just how grave the situation is. Unprecedented numbers of illegal immigrants are surging into the country in anticipation of more lenient treatment under President Biden, but the administration is woefully unprepared to manage the rapid influx.
In a shocking report published Wednesday, the Washington Post didn't shy away from characterizing the situation as a "crisis,"

What can states do when the federal government not only keeps its border open, but directly invites the cartels and smugglers to bring in potentially millions of new migrants, along with cartel members, gangsters, and previously deported criminals? That is a question we never thought we'd have to grapple with, but it is of vital importance for our national security and communities.

In January, I laid out the constitutional case for states to secure the border when the federal government is actively working against border security, one of the foundational purposes for the states to create a federal government in the first place. Now, one Texas lawmaker is introducing a bill that could serve as the impetus for states actually securing some degree of control over the border.

On Monday, Texas state Rep. Bryan Slaton filed HB 2862, which would

Unilever is set to drop the term "normal" from its beauty products in a bid to become even more inclusive.
POLL: What scares you the most?
What are the details?
According to a Tuesday report from the BBC, Unilever — which owns popular brand Dove — said that the word "normal" would be struck from marketing in order to craft a "more inclusive definition of beauty."

The news organization noted that the term will be removed when referring to "body shape, size, proportion, and skin color" and will impact the branding of at least 200 products.

"The London-based firm, which also owns the Simple and Sure beauty brands, is set to make the changes over the next year," the BBC reported. "The ban on editing will include photos taken of models as well as social media influencers."

In a statement, Sunny Jain, the firm's president of beauty and personal care products, said, "We know that removing 'normal' from our products and packaging will not fix the problem alone, but it is an important step forward."

Shampoo — or skin care — for "normal to dry" conditions will be labeled for "dry and damaged" hair going forward, for example.
What did the new study say?
On Tuesday, the New York Times reported that the move comes on the heels of a new study revealing that using the word "normal" on products "makes most people feel excluded."
"The advertising changes came after the company commissioned a 10,000-person study across nine countries, including Brazil, China, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and the United States," the Times report noted. "The study found that 56 percent of participants thought that the beauty industry could make people feel excluded, and that as many as seven in 10 people agreed that the word 'normal' on products and in advertising had negative effects. That figure rose to eight in 10 for people between the ages of 18 and 35."

A large group of migrants were photographed Tuesday at the U.S.-Mexico border near California wearing T-shirts that urged President Joe Biden to let them into the country.

POLL: What scares you the most?
The migrants were reportedly staging a protest at the San Ysidro crossing point in Tijuana, Baja California, according to Spanish language news outlet Chapines USA. During the rally, they demanded that the new president keep his campaign promises to enact more lenient immigration policies.

Men, women, children — and reportedly some entire families — participated in the protest, while armed Border Patrol agents stood guard. Many of the migrants were wearing T-shirts and carryings signs with Biden's campaign logo on display along with a message: "Please let us in!"

The news comes amid an ongoing crisis at the U.S. southern border, as unprecedented numbers of migrants surge into the country with the expectation that the new administration will be more lax on immigration enforcement than the previous one.

The Department of Homeland Security announced this week that it projects 117,000 unaccompanied migrant children will illegally enter the U.S. this year. During last month alone, 6,000 migrants between the ages of 16 and 17 were caught crossing the border, and the pace is expected to increase.

Scrambling to keep up with the rapid influx, the Biden administration has elected to reopen migrant children housing facilities — a practice widely condemned by leftist immigration activists during Trump's presidency — and has even authorized officials to purchase plane tickets to fly migrant children to relatives' residences in the U.S.

But even so, the shelters are expected to reach full capacity within weeks and the administration knows it is woefully unprepared. During a briefing given to Biden on Tuesday, the Domestic Policy Council requested that some 20,000 beds be made available in short order to handle the surge of new migrant children.

Yet while the administration internally is in full-blown crisis mode, several officials, including the president himself, have flatly rejected characterizing it in such a way.

"We'll be able to handle it, God willing," Biden said Tuesday, according to Bloomberg News. When asked whether the surge constituted a crisis, the president offered a frank denial, stating, "No."

White House press secretary Jen Psaki was confronted by a New York Times reporter on Tuesday over the Biden administration crediting themselves for brokering a deal that will allow all American adults to have access to the coronavirus vaccine within a matter of months.

POLL: What scares you the most?
What is the background?
President Joe Biden announced Tuesday that every American adult would have access to the COVID-19 vaccine by the end of May.

The remarkable feat was made possible by a new deal between pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. and Johnson & Johnson, manufacture of the new one-shot regimen awarded emergency authorization by the Food and Drug Administration last Saturday.

During his press conference, Biden credited his administration for brokering the deal and chided his predecessor.

"We are now on track to have enough vaccine supply for every adult in America by the end of May," Biden said. "When we came into office, the prior administration had contracted not nearly enough vaccine to cover adults in America"
"We rectified that," Biden claimed.

What happened at the press briefing?
New York Times White House correspondent Michael Shear asked Psaki how the Biden administration can take credit for the deal when, in fact, the New York Times reported about the deal in January.

"On the timing of the administration's efforts to help pull this deal together, you said that it was within, I think, the last few weeks," Shear began. "We wrote our first story at the New York Times about a possible partnership between Merck and J&J for manufacturing on Jan 21."

"My understanding is that talks between those companies had been in the works before that even, in terms of, sort of, the corporate discussions between them," Shear continued, adding, "How it is that the Biden administration deserves credit for bringing these two together, when it looks like the discussions had been under way long before you guys got here?"

In response, Psaki said the Biden administration is merely celebrating the finalization of the deal.

"Just to be clear, I'm talking about when it was finalized so that we could move it forward," Psaki said.

"I'm only conveying what got it across the finish line, and I think it's clear that that has only happened relatively recently. But certainly the history of conversations between Merck and J&J, long before the J&J vaccine was even approved, you know, you certainly might have more information on than I do," she added.

A south Texas justice of the peace was arrested along with three other individuals who face 150 charges of voter fraud altogether.
Medina County Justice of the Peace Tomas Ramirez was arrested on Feb. 11 and is charged on one count of organized election fraud, one count of "assisting voter voting ballot by mail," and 17 counts of unlawful possession of a ballot or ballot envelope, KABB reports.

He was arrested with Leonor Rivas Garza, Eva Ann Martinez, and Mary Balderrama. All four were indicted by a Bandera Grand Jury on Feb. 9.

Garza, Martinez, and Balderrama were each charged with organized election fraud. They also face multiple charges of illegal voting, unlawful possession of a ballot or ballot envelope, election fraud, fraudulent use of an absentee ballot by mail, tampering with a government record, and purportedly acting as an agent.

According to the Texas attorney general's office, the case against Ramirez and the others involves allegations of vote harvesting at assisted living centers in Medina County in the 2018 Medina County Primary Election. Ramirez was elected as a justice of the peace in 2018 and was suspended from his position after his arrest.

In a statement, Ramirez said he was "stunned" by the allegations and denied all charges against him:

I was stunned by the allegations because there is absolutely no truth to them. I have spent the last 27 years building my law practice and serving in this community which has created my reputation for fairness, sincerity and integrity. I entered the race for JP because I wanted to serve Medina County and make the office function better for its citizens. I feel I have done exactly that up to this point. For people who know me, these allegations are absurd. To those who don't, it provides reason to sneer and hate.

I will vigorously defend myself to the fullest extent and I fully expect to be vindicated.
The arrests come as former President Donald Trump continues to allege that the 2020 presidential was illegitimate because of voter fraud. Though there were incidents of attempted voter fraud committed on a relatively small scale, there is no evidence of widespread election fraud occurring in the 2020 election as Trump's legal team alleged.

Speaking at the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference Sunday, Trump claimed, "This election was rigged, and the Supreme Court and other courts didn't want to do anything about it."

"Had we had a fair election, the results would have been much different," he asserted.

A Florida woman was arrested after taunting the FBI on a TikTok video and threatening to shoot them if they tried to question her about her presence at the protest preceding the U.S. Capitol riot. The Department of Justice said in a statement on Friday that Suzanne Kaye of Boca Raton had been arrested over the threat to shoot FBI agents who migght come to her house.

Prosecutors said the FBI contacted Kaye on Jan. 28 after they received an anonymous tip that she had posted on Facebook that she had been at the protest at the Capitol. The FBI says Kaye denied being at the Capitol but said she knew of people who had travelled there. She agreed to speak to them and gave them her address.

Kaye gave a much different account of her interaction with the FBI in the video that was also posted to her "ANGRY Patriot Hippie" page on Facebook.

Retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré has been leading a review of security measures at the U.S. Capitol at the direction of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) following the Jan. 6 attack on the building by a mob of Trump supporters.

POLL: What scares you the most?
But recent inflammatory comments made by the 74-year-old retired Army general against Republicans are raising questions about whether he was the right pick for the job.

What are the details?
Fox News' Tucker Carlson alerted his viewers Wednesday night to a tweet Honoré made on Jan. 11, days after the siege, when he said of Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), "This little peace of s**t with his @Yale law degree should be run out of DC and Disbarred ASAP," tagging Hawley and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), whom he dubbed "aaa hats," and adding, "these @Yale and @Harvard law grads is high order white privilege."

Content warning: Language

Hawley and Cruz led high-profile efforts on Jan. 6 to reject some Electoral College votes cast in favor of President Joe Biden, the same day Trump hosted a rally in Washington, D.C., in protest of the election results before the mob of activists stormed the Capitol.

Carlson also pointed out unfounded speculations Honoré made in the media in the days following the attack, such as his assumption that those in charge of security at the Capitol — including a high percentage of Capitol Police officers could have been "complicit" in the attack and whom he dubbed "Trumpers."

You may view Carlson's segment in its entirety below. His coverage of Honoré begins around the 16:30 mark:

Anything else?
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) also slammed the Honoré appointment Wednesday night, tweeting, "General Honoré is an extreme partisan and should be the LAST person to head up an investigation of what happened at the Capitol on Jan 6th."

Johnson pointed to a Fox News article from last July when Honoré told MSNBC that then-acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf needs "to be run out of Washington" due to what he called "bulls***" tactics used by federal agents to contain mobs in Portland, Oregon, amid unrest in the city.

Honoré also tried to get his Twitter followers to "stop buying" what he called the "s*** stocks" of companies that advertise with Sean Hannity, saying the Fox News host "speaks #Russian iNFO OPERATIONS TO SUCK UP TO #45."

To say that parents nationwide are tired of the mixed messages they're getting from school district leadership, the state governments, and the teachers' unions would be an understatement.

POLL: What scares you the most?
But parents are easy to ignore. American school districts have been doing it for decades.

From New York to Chicago to Portland, elected leaders are instead cowering to teachers' unions and refusing to get teachers back in classrooms even as state and federal health officials repeatedly declare that it's safe to return to in-person instruction.

In Los Angeles, teachers have been fighting going back to work for months now — and the cries of parents and students seemingly have been ignored by the bigwigs of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

However, one group in L.A. that is harder to ignore just jumped into the fray on the side of parents: the editorial board of the Los Angeles Times.

In a Wednesday editorial, the paper declared that the city's school district "is officially out of excuses for keeping elementary schools closed" and that the superintendent "needs to put on his big-boy pants" and tell educators to get back into the classroom.

The paper noted that despite the fact that schools across the country have reopened with little risk and that elementary students are "far less likely" to get COVID or infect others and that there have been zero surges caused by reopened schools, L.A. Unified schools (and many others throughout California) have remained shuttered.

According to the paper, Superintendent Austin Beutner can finally open schools now because the county's infection rate has fallen to the point where it is "officially safe" for every elementary school in the county to open.

Yet, Beutner — who has been in an ongoing struggle with United Teachers Los Angeles — still does not have any immediate plans to reopen, the Times said.

"There are no more excuses. Further delay is unacceptable," the paper declared.

Beutner has been acquiescing to UTLA's demands — getting school buildings ready for teachers and students, updating testing availability, and implementing an elaborate tracing regimen, not to mention pushing to get teachers vaccinated before returning (which public experts have repeatedly said is not necessary) — yet the union continues to stand in the way.

The Times has a message for Beutner: Get tough with the unions and demand that teachers get back to work — or understand they could find themselves out of work.

From the Times:
It's not easy to go against UTLA, as Beutner learned during a bruising strike two years ago. But at this point, the superintendent needs to put on his big-boy pants, reopen schools and demand that teachers return or risk their jobs. Union leaders in turn need to realize that not only are students done a tremendous disservice by the continued closures, but most parents vehemently want their kids back in the classroom. The union is jeopardizing its own popularity if it continues to put the needs of students and families last.
It's also time for Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, the paper said, to "fall in line with the CDC" and get kids back into schools.

Don't say 'aliens': Biden admin instructs officials to use 'inclusive language' to describe people in the country illegally

The Biden administration has instructed Department of Homeland Security officials to use more "inclusive language" to describe people residing in the country illegally, such as dropping the word "alien" and replacing it with "noncitizen," according to a memo recently issued by immigration authorities.

POLL: What scares you the most?
What are the details?
The changes are reportedly part of an effort by the Biden administration to portray itself as more welcoming on immigration than the previous administration under President Trump, which would use terms such as "illegal aliens" to describe people who bypassed U.S. laws and security perimeters to enter and remain in the country.

According to Axios, an email sent Tuesday to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officials described how the agency's acting director, Tracy Renaud, had signed a memo encouraging "more inclusive language in the agency's outreach efforts, internal documents and in overall communication with stakeholders, partners and the general public."

The memo, obtained by BuzzFeed News, instructed officials to stop referring to people as "illegal alien," "alien," or "undocumented alien" in internal and external communications, but instead use the terms "noncitizen," "undocumented noncitizen," or "undocumented individual."

It also urged USCIS officials to discontinue their use of the term "assimilation" in exchange for "integration" and begin referring to those who apply for benefits like green cards as "customers," BuzzFeed reported. USCIS is a subsidiary agency which operates within the DHS.

What else?
Interestingly, besides planned use in the agency's internal communications and any communications it has with the public, the wording changes are not set to affect forms or operational documents where using the previous terminology is deemed most appropriate. That fact indicates the changes are nothing more than a messaging makeover.

Though, by continuing to soften language associated with illegal immigration, the administration undoubtedly hopes to move public opinion on the matter toward greater acceptance of illegal entry and favor for open borders.

The words being replaced in the agency's messaging are in fact the most accurate technical terms to describe issues at hand. Even BuzzFeed acknowledges that the term "alien" is routinely found within U.S. Code and is "regularly referenced in the immigration system and in court rulings to describe everyone who is not a US citizen."

Speaking with Axios, Robert Law, a former Trump administration official who now works at the Center for Immigration Studies, noted, "By statute, 'alien' literally means a person not a U.S. citizen or national."

"That is not offensive, and neither is 'assimilation,'" he said.

A top Democratic congressman filed a lawsuit in federal court against former President Donald Trump on Tuesday over Trump's alleged role in the deadly violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.?
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, filed the lawsuit to hold Trump personally accountable for his alleged role in the Capitol riot.

The lawsuit — which named Rudy Giuliani, Proud Boys, and Oath Keepers as co-defendants — claims Trump and his co-defendants "plotted, coordinated, and executed a common plan to prevent Congress from discharging its official duties in certifying the results of the presidential election."

Several top leaders of the anti-Trump Super PAC, the Lincoln Project, were aware of sexual harassment allegations against one of its co-founders, John Weaver, as early as last March, the 19th reported Tuesday.

POLL: What scares you the most?
The news raises serious questions about the Lincoln Project's handling of the controversy, especially considering the organization claimed in a statement last month that it was "shocked" when the allegations started surfacing.

Critics now allege that the organization covered up the allegations so as not to distract from its efforts to boot former President Donald Trump from the Oval Office.

Weaver, a longtime establishment Republican strategist who advised the late Sen. John McCain and former Gov. John Kasich before going on to launch the anti-Trump political operation, admitted in January to sending "inappropriate" sexually suggestive messages to multiple young men over the course of his career in politics.

Weaver's admission followed public accusations from several young men — a number now totaling at least 21 — similarly recalling how Weaver demonstrated grooming behavior by sending unsolicited sexually charged messages often alongside promises of career advancement. One of the accusers was a 14-year-old boy who claims Weaver asked him about his body.

The veteran operative, who is married to a woman and has two children, announced he is gay in a statement and apologized to the young men he harassed, saying he thought at the time the exchanges were "consensual mutual conversations."

The Associated Press previously reported the organization's leadership was informed about at least 10 specific allegations of harassment against Weaver last June, including two involving Lincoln Project employees. The informers detailed the allegations in writing and in subsequent phone calls to the Super PAC's leaders.

That also stands in contrast to the Lincoln Project's statement, which declared that "at no time was John Weaver in the physical presence of any member of The Lincoln Project."

On Monday, the Lincoln Project told the 19th it had hired outside counsel to conduct a "comprehensive review of our operations and culture." Embroiled in controversy, the organization has also hastily released current and former employees from nondisclosure agreements.

"We are committed to creating a positive, diverse, and inclusive workplace environment at The Lincoln Project and inappropriate behavior by anyone associated with the organization will not be tolerated under any circumstances. We have already taken decisive action to address internal concerns," co-founder Reed Galen told the progressive outlet.

Supreme Court set to consider high-profile election lawsuits this week
NEWS

The Supreme Court is scheduled to consider a handful of high-profile election challenges at its mid-February conference taking place this week. If the court chooses to accept any of the lawsuits, they will likely be heard and decided in October.
The cases include lawsuits filed by pro-Trump attorneys Lin Wood and Sidney Powell in Georgia and Michigan, a lawsuit filed by Pennsylvania Republican state Rep. Mike Kelly, and two lawsuits filed in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania by former President Donald Trump's campaign.

The lawsuits collectively allege that unlawful conduct took place in several battleground states during the 2020 presidential election, such as the unconstitutional expansion of mail-in voting by state election officials, the failure to enforce security measures for mail-in ballots, the denial of meaningful access for Republican poll watchers, and technical issues involving voting machines.

After the lawsuits were rejected by lower courts in the weeks following the election, attorneys representing plaintiffs in the lawsuits made their appeals to the Supreme Court in short order, but the court opted not to consider the cases during a turbulent transition period.

Now, all of the cases mentioned above are scheduled for a conference taking place this Friday, February 19, according to records on the Supreme Court's website.

In nearly every plea, attorneys backing Trump's election challenges insisted their cases be heard prior to President Joe Biden's inauguration on Jan. 20, or else their success would be unlikely, the Washington Examiner reported. However, even now that Biden's inauguration has come and gone, the lawsuits have not been withdrawn.

"Our legal issue remains important and in need of the court's review," Trump lawyer John Eastman told the Examiner in reference to Pennsylvania's handling of the 2020 election. Kelly's lawyer Greg Teufel added that he has no plans to drop the lawsuit.

The attorneys likely believe their lawsuits can set in motion the advance of election security legislation even if they did not affect the 2020 presidential election, as originally intended.

Even now, Republican lawmakers across the country are pushing for legislation to reform elections, especially reining in widespread mail-in voting.

Marco Rubio questions whether Trump impeachment sets 'new precedent' that could target Hillary Clinton
NEWS
'Therefore, is it not true that under this new precedent a future House facing partisan pressure to "lock her up" could impeach a former Secretary of State...'
CHRIS ENLOEFebruary 13, 2021
Could the Democratic Party's pursuit of another Trump impeachment have consequences for one of their own? That is exactly what Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) suggested could happen.

POLL: What scares you the most?
What happened?
During former President Donald Trump's Senate impeachment trial on Friday, Rubio asked whether retroactively using the Constitution's impeachment mechanisms against Trump would create a ripple effect allowing other former government officials to be impeached and face a Senate trial.

In his question, Rubio asked about a "former secretary of state," a clear reference to Hillary Clinton.

Rubio asked, according to Mediate:

Voting to convict the former president would create a new precedent that a former official can be convicted and disqualified by the Senate. Therefore, is it not true that under this new precedent a future House facing partisan pressure to "lock her up" could impeach a former Secretary of State and a future Senate be forced to put her on trial and potentially disqualify from any future office?
In response, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), the lead impeachment manager, claimed the "jurisdictional issue is over."

Raskin added that Rubio's hypothetical question "has no bearing on this case because I don't think you're talking about an official who was impeached while they were in office for conduct that they committed while they were in office."

What did Trump's lawyer say?
Michael van der Veen, one of former President Donald Trump's defense attorneys, disagreed.

He told Rubio that Democrats are setting a precedent that could not only be applied to the "former secretary of state," but "to a lot of people and that's not the way this is supposed to work and not only could it happen to a lot of people, it would become much more regular, too."

Van der Veen added that Rubio's question highlights the "absolutely slippery slope" of Democrats decision to pursue an impeachment trial despite Trump no longer being president.

"The original question is an absolutely slippery slope that I don't really think anybody here wants to send this country down," van deer Veen said.

Anything else?
Trump's trial will most likely end on Saturday with his acquittal.

Earlier in the day, the Senate voted to call witnesses, which would have extended the trial indefinitely. However, the Senate quickly reached an agreement that included not calling witnesses.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) also announced that he would vote to acquit Trump.

"While a close call, I am persuaded that impeachments are a tool primarily of removal and we therefore lack jurisdiction," McConnell said in a letter to Senate Republicans.

An anti-police march attended by Black Lives Matter members in New York City descended into violence Friday night.

POLL: What scares you the most?
About 100 protesters attended the "F*** 12" march in Midtown Manhattan. According to the Salt Lake Tribune, "F*** 12" and "F12" are anti-police terms that mean "f*** the police," a reference to the police TV shows "Adam-12" or "Barney Miller," which was set at the New York City Police Department's 12th Precinct.

Demonstrators with Black Lives Matter, which was nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize three weeks ago, burned an American flag and a pro-law enforcement thin blue line flag near the NYPD kiosk in Times Square in a supposed protest against police brutality.

The Senate voted to acquit former President Donald Trump on a charge of incitement of insurrection for the Capitol riot on Jan. 6. Liberal Hollywood celebrities suffered complete meltdowns over the results of the impeachment trial.

All of the Democratic senators and seven Republicans voted to convict Trump, resulting in a 57 to 43 vote, 10 short of the 67 votes needed to secure a conviction against Trump.

The hashtag #43Traitors trended on Twitter after Trump's acquittal, which was full of rage toward the 43 Republicans who voted to acquit the former president. In the U.S., traitors who are convicted of treason are subject to "suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years."

Twitter reactions by several left-wing celebrities labeled the 43 Republican lawmakers who voted to acquit as "traitors."

"Frozen" voice actor Josh Gad quote-tweeted a "list of traitors up for election in '22."

After seven Republican senators voted on Saturday to convict former President Donald Trump in his second impeachment trial, at least two state GOP organizations rebuked their own senator.

Although Trump was acquitted on Saturday by a vote of 57-43, falling short of the 67-vote threshold needed to convict, seven Republicans joined their Democratic colleagues in determining that Trump was "guilty" of "incitement of insurrection" stemming from the deadly violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

Those Republican senators were: Sens. Richard Burr (N.C.), Bill Cassidy (La.), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Mitt Romney (Utah), Ben Sasse (Neb.), and Pat Toomey (Penn.).

What was the response?
Burr and Cassidy were swiftly rebuked by their state parties after their vote.

In fact, the Louisiana Republican Party wasted no time censuring Cassidy.

"The Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Louisiana has unanimously voted to censure Senator Bill Cassidy for his vote cast earlier today to convict former President Donald J. Trump on the impeachment charge," the Louisiana Republican Party said in a brief statement.

Cassidy explained his vote, saying, "Our Constitution and our country is more important than any one person."

Meanwhile, the North Carolina Republican Party also rebuked Burr for his vote.

"North Carolina Republicans sent Senator Burr to the United States Senate to uphold the Constitution and his vote today to convict in a trial that he declared unconstitutional is shocking and disappointing," NCGOP Chairman Michael Whatley said in a statement.

Barr also explained why he voted to convict.

"The evidence is compelling that President Trump is guilty of inciting an insurrection against a coequal branch of government and that the charge rises to the level of high Crimes and Misdemeanors. Therefore, I have voted to convict," Barr said in a statement. "I do not make this decision lightly, but I believe it is necessary."

Anything else?
Only two of the seven Republicans who voted to convict will be up for re-election within the next four years: Murkowski in 2022 and Romney in 2024.

On the other hand, Sasse, Cassidy, and Collins were just re-elected, while Burr and Toomey will retire at the conclusion of their terms.

After the Senate voted on Saturday to acquit former President Donald Trump in his second impeachment trial, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) tore into Trump.

McConnell, who voted to acquit Trump of charges of "incitement of insurrection," unequivocally blamed Trump for the deadly violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6., saying Trump is certainly guilty of a "disgraceful dereliction of duty."

"There's no question — none — that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of [Jan. 6]," McConnell said.

"The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president," McConnell added, which he called a "foreseeable consequence of the growing crescendo" of Trump's "false statements, conspiracy theories, and reckless hyperbole."

As TheBlaze reported, McConnell had already announced that he would vote to acquit Trump.

The Kentucky Republican explained afterward that he voted "not guilty" based on jurisdictional considerations, meaning he did not believe the Constitution permitted the Senate to exercise its impeachment powers against a private citizen, despite Trump being formally impeached by the House while he was still in office.

In fact, McConnell said Article 2, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution makes Trump "not eligible for conviction."

However, McConnell conceded that he would have "carefully considered" the impeachment charge if Trump were still in office.

Criminally liable?
Toward the end of his speech, McConnell said that "by the strict criminal standard," Trump is "probably not" guilty of incitement of violence.

However, McConnell made it clear that Trump has not been criminally absolved.

"President Trump is still liable for everything he did while he's in office, as an ordinary citizen, unless the statute of limitations has run," McConnell said.

"He didn't get away with anything — yet, yet," McConnell added. "We have a criminal justice system in this country. We have civil litigation, and former presidents are not immune from being held accountable by either one."

Thus far, no criminal action has been initiated against Trump related to the Capitol riots.

However, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has launched a criminal probe into Trump over his alleged attempts to "overturn Georgia's election results," NPR reported, which stems from a call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R).

A California judge has partially ruled against Soros-backed Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón's sweeping criminal justice reform package on Monday, ruling that some of his directives violated California law and would have placed his deputy district attorneys in legal and ethical jeopardy.

POLL: What scares you the most?
Superior Court Judge James Chalfant issued his ruling in response to a lawsuit filed by Gascón's own deputy district attorneys, who alleged in their lawsuit that Gascón's policies — which prohibited them from applying sentencing enhancements that have long been considered mandatory under California law — would have required them to violate California law and their own ethical obligations. Specifically, they argued that policies are unlawful that require them to not seek certain sentencing enhancements that are mandated by California law.

With respect to cases that have already been filed, Judge Chalfant agreed, issuing a preliminary injunction preventing those policies from being implemented. Of specific importance, California law requires district attorneys who are seeking to drop sentencing enhancements to make representations to the court that certain circumstances exist, and the judge found that Gascón's policy would have effectively required these district attorneys to lie in court.

The judge also faulted Gascón's policies for failing to take into account the effect they would have on victims of crime, as required under California law. As Chalfant noted, "There is not a single reference to a concern for victims in the sentencing process" under Gascón's policies.

However, the judge declined to enjoin Gascón from implementing his policies with respect to cases brought in the future, noting that prosecutors generally have wide discretion in performing those duties. The judge was not swayed by the deputy district attorneys' arguments that California state law clearly and plainly states that prosecutors "shall" seek sentencing requirements in certain cases, claiming (in reasoning that would certainly come as a surprise to most speakers of English) that "shall" is not always considered mandatory in legislative statutes and that such language cannot constrain the discretion inherent in prosecutorial functions.

Moreover, the judge ruled, Gascón's policies should not have been a "surprise" since he explicitly ran on implementing them. It is unclear from Chalfant's decision how Gascón's victory in his local election is legally relevant to the interpretation of the plain text of California state law.

Gascón has promised to appeal the judge's decision, but also has promised to abide by the terms of the judge's injunction until that appeal has been decided.

Billionaire left-wing financier George Soros spent over $2 million of his vast fortune propping up Gascón's campaign, during which he explicitly ran on a platform of eliminating sentencing enhancements and cash bail and reducing Los Angeles' prison population.

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper compared the sentiments of Trump supporters who stormed the United States Capitol on Jan. 6 to the dehumanizing beliefs that triggered genocides in Africa and Europe.

What did Cooper say?
Speaking on his show Tuesday, Cooper compared rhetoric that inspired Trump supporters to storm the Capitol to rhetoric that, in part, resulted in genocides in Rwanda and Bosnia in the 1990s.
To bolster his case, Cooper cited "otherizing" people, or the perpetuation of an "us versus them" mentality.
"Part of it, I think, just based on what you were just saying, it comes to mind, the idea of otherizing people is something I think we saw a lot of over the last four years. I mean, certainly we've seen a lot over the last decades, but it's so easy to otherize people, to make people other than, other than American, other than patriotic, other than human," Cooper said.

"You know, and we've seen it in Bosnia, we've seen it in Rwanda, where radio was telling people that you know, Hutus, were telling the radio listeners that Tutsi were cockroaches for, you know, getting them ginned up for genocide," he continued.

White House defends order permitting trans athletes to compete in girls' sports: 'Trans rights are human rights'

Defended Biden's executive order
SARAH TAYLORFebruary 10, 2021
White House press secretary Jen Psaki is defending President Joe Biden's executive order demanding schools permit transgender students be able to participate in sports based on their preferred gender identity.
POLL: What scares you the most?
What order is this?
Biden signed the executive order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation on Jan. 21, which stated, "Every person should be treated with respect and dignity and should be able to live without fear, no matter who they are or whom they love. Children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the restroom, the locker room, or the school sports."
What are the details?
According to Fox News, Psaki defended Biden's order on Tuesday.
After a reporter asked what "Biden's message was to school officials tackling the disputes regarding transgender and cisgender girls competing together," Psaki said that Biden's "belief is that trans rights are human rights."

The reporter added that the order could potentially lead to situations where "trans girls and cis girls" may "end up competing against each other," prompting litigation and more from parents, and added that the administration should clarify to local school officials how to handle such disputes.
"And that's why he signed that executive order," she added. "And in terms of the determinations by universities and colleges, I would certainly defer to them."
The Department of Education has yet to issue any official guidance on enforcing the executive order.
What else?
During Education Secretary nominee Miguel Cardona's confirmation hearing, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said that trans girls participating in women's sports "would completely destroy girls' athletics."
Cardona disagreed.
"I think it's the legal responsibility for schools to provide opportunities for students to participate in activities and this includes students who are transgender," Cardona reasoned.
