There are many creative and entertaining songs about the Jewish New Year. This will be one of your favorites! You gotta see this one.
The Jewish New Year – 5784
The Jewish band Six13 always has an entertaining video to share for the Jewish holidays. They have done a Billy Joel Passover video, a Star Wars Hanukkah video, and much, much more. Six13 knows how to capture the attention of those looking for something different and fun. And this video for the Jewish New Year is definitely different and fun! Warning: This tune will get stuck in your head. And once you learn the lyrics, you will be singing along.
Who doesn’t love some classic 1970s rock music? You might not have pictured a Rosh Hashana song to “25 or 6 to 4” by Chicago. But here it is. It’s pretty cool how Jewish bands can get so creative with their songs.
May this Rosh Hashana usher in a personal redemption for each and every person as well as the national redemption for the Jewish people and the world.
The Lyrics to “5784:”

Waiting for the shofar blast
So that I can break my fast
Thinking ’bout the year gone by
Aiming for the Book of Life
Almost done with Yom Kippur
5784.
Dipping apples in honey
So this new year will be sweet
Time to give, repent, and pray
During these high holidays
Then I’ll wish you a gut yohr (good year)
5784.
L’shana tova u’metukah
(Good and sweet new year).

Hatikvah and Vehi She’amda
Hatikvah is very well-known being that it's Israel's national anthem. Find out which song was combined with it to create this masterpiece ...

This mashup is too perfect. The way the children sing it with such fervor. You can see the passion in their eyes. You can feel their pure souls singing to G-d. Along with Hatikvah, this mashup has the words from the Passover Haggadah that the Jewish people read and relive at the Pesach Seder. Those words were made into a popular song called “Vehi She’amda.” The song does not have all the words from the passage in the Haggadah, but the words that are part of the song are “Vehi She’amda La’avoteinu Velanu Shelo Echad Bilvad Amad Aleinu Lechaloteinu V’HaKadosh Baruch Hu Matzilenu Miyadam.” The translation of that is: “And this (Hashem’s blessings and the Torah) is what kept our fathers and what keeps us surviving. For, not only one arose and tried to destroy us…and Hashem saves us from their hands.”
The mashup is such a beautiful combination. The idea that our enemies have tried to destroy us but have been unsuccessful because G-d always saves us – alongside Israel’s national anthem is inspiring. Hashem and His Torah sustain us. And despite the constant threat of the enemy, the Jewish people have returned home after thousands of years of yearning. Although the complete redemption has not yet happened, the beginning of the redemption has definitely been unfolding before our eyes. Combining these ideas into a mashup is stunning. Bringing the words which we say on the holiday of redemption and singing it alongside words that symbolize the beginning of the final redemption is absolutely brilliant.
