Oops, Sorry!
Oops, Sorry!
Oops, Sorry!
By Betty-Rachael Hampton
Rae "borrowed" her sister's best blouse--and stained it
badly. Toni was furious, and soon there was a ding dong
argument in progress. "I said sorry," Yelled Rae, "What
more do you want?"
Toni does want more. Rae's "sorry" is not working.
Their friendship can be restored if Rae uses the
"Apology Repair Kit."
Item1: Accepting Blame. I should not have taken your
blouse without asking--and I should have been more
careful.
Item2: Explanation. I wanted to impress Nick, and you
weren't there to ask.
Item 3: Remorse. Look, I can see how upset you are, and
you have every right to be mad at me. I really am
sorry.
Item 4: Reparation. It was my fault, so I'll pay to
have it cleaned.
Item 5: Forgiveness. Please forgive me. I will ask in
future.
Does saying sorry sound like a big deal? It is! But
it's a "Repair Kit" we all need to keep close at hand
and use whenever needed.
