BREAKING: Trump Goes Rogue On Healthcare

Following through on campaign promises is something that politicians have had a lot of trouble with. That’s why when an elected official is in the habit of keeping his word, it’s something to take note of.

That’s exactly what Trump is doing. During the campaign, he promised to get rid of the “lines around the states” to allow Americans to buy health insurance across state lines. After numerous struggles from Congress to take action, Trump is finally signing an executive order to keep the pledge he made to the American people, according to the Washington Examiner.

It’s been an issue that the GOP has struggled to meaningfully address. Despite the frustration expressed by the American people at their lack of action, Congress hasn’t been able to push forward a successful healthcare bill. Instead, it appears that President Trump will be making his own move to make health insurance more affordable for all Americans.

Speaking on MSNBC, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) predicted that the President would take executive action on the healthcare issue. “I think there’s going to be big news from the White House in the next week or two, something they can do on their own,” he said.

“This is something I’ve been advocating for six months,” Paul added. “I believe that President Trump can legalize on his own the ability of individuals to join a group or a health association across state lines and buy insurance.”

The Senator has been advocating legislation that allows people buy insurance across state lines, relying on a law that already exists, which permits corporations to buy insurance across state lines. His idea is to let individuals do the same thing — something that Trump officials have been “enthusiastic” about.

“It already exists. What I’m trying to do is let individuals get into that marketplace, and this would be an enormous benefit.”

The Senator is so enthusiastic about this piece of existing legislation that he feels Trump might not have to use an executive order to get it done. Rand Paul’s proposal is simply a reinterpretation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), merely expanding its scope to encompass ordinary Americans.

“If these individuals can join large groups across state lines, I think they’ll get protection, less expensive insurance, and it’ll be able to solve a lot of the problems we have in the individual market,” Paul said, optimistically. “I think President Trump’s going to do this on his own. It costs zero dollars. I don’t think people on the Left are going to hate it.”

Looks like Trump may issue an executive order allowing health insurance sales across state lines. Good idea?

This revelation came after a series of failures on the part of Congress to get a meaningful Obamacare repeal bill passed. Having struggled throughout the summer, potential bills have been hamstrung by key GOP traitors, including Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).

Rand Paul had previously been against some of the healthcare bill proposals himself, saying that he “won’t vote for Obamacare Lite that keeps 90% of the taxes & spending just so some people can claim credit for something that didn’t happen.” However, it appears that this new potential solution is right up his ideological alley.

Whether Paul’s speculations will come to fruition is yet to be seen. As a man of action, however, it’s unlikely that President Trump will sit back and do nothing.
