Below is the foundation of Cahn's conclusions about how a year of Jubilee could be 2015 - 2016 (page 272). It is based on the first year of the next Shemitah year (a seventh year rest for the land of Israel) after the seventh Shemitah from the seventh Shemitah in 1916 - 1917.

With his method of counting his implied year of Jubilee is after 49 Shemitahs. And, it is seen as year one in the next Shemitah cycle. For example, his year of counting shows a Shemitah year of 1916-1917. General Allenby received the keys to Jerusalem on December 9, 1917 - Kislev 24 which is the anniversary date of the conception of Jesus. The Balfour Declaration was also signed shortly before that time in 1917.

The year of 1918 - 1919 was seen as the Jubilee on Cahn's cycle of the Shemitahs. A Shemitah year is the year the land of Israel is to rest. A year of Jubilee is a year of restoration. Cahn believes it to be the first year of the next seventh year cycle of the Shemitah.

Only the Sanhedrin could announce a year of Jubilee to begin on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). And Israel is to be in their land when there is a Shemitah year. When Jesus returns to earth the second time it will be a time of restoration. For that reason the expected is that His return will be after the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) in a year of Jubilee. His expected return is on the anniversary date of His first coming - the time of His birth at Tabernacles.

As you know, the Shemitah of 2014-2015 is being observed this year in the land of Israel. Israel began observing the Shemitahs in 1951 after being born again as a nation on May 14, 1948. Some of the years Cahn shows as Shemitah years include years that were observed in Israel.
