I would love to make this if I can get hold of all the ingredients or suitable substitutes !!!
Has anyone ever tried it before?
"This is the bread that Ezekiel lived off of while he was in the desert for two years. It is supposed to be nutritionally complete. The recipe calls for grinding your own flour from a variety of grains and dried beans."
Ezekiel Chapter 4:9-17: Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to number of days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.
INGREDIENTS
590 ml wheat berries
180 g spelt flour
90 g barley
100 g millet
50 g dry green lentils
25 g dry great Northern beans
25 g dry kidney beans
25 g dried pinto beans
950 ml warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
235 ml honey
120 ml olive oil
14 g active dry yeast
35 g salt
Method
Measure the water, honey, olive oil, and yeast into a large bowl. Let sit for 3 to 5 minutes.
Stir all of the grains and beans together until well mixed. Grind in a flour mill. Add fresh milled flour and salt to the yeast mixture; stir until well mixed, about 10 minutes. The dough will be like that of a batter bread. Pour dough into two greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pans.
Let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until dough has reached the top of the pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 to 50 minutes, or until loaves are golden brown.
I thought some of you may find this interesting. If I make it I will let you all know how it turns out. I know it can be bought in stores in the USA but I have not seen it anywhere in the UK yet !

A very interesting find Rose.
Often we read through the Old Testament of the bible and pass bye not taking a great interest in what God had obviously shown Ezekiel the ingredients to sustain him for those two years.
Thank you so much for sharing with us your find.
It got my mind thinking there is so much we do miss reading the bible on the herbs for health and other important issues for our body often overlooked.
This is not my field as such I am sad to say although it should be for all of us and so I am very grateful when like this is brought to our attention.
I very much appreciate your time for posting and it will be interesting to know if you found the ingredients or substitutes and how things turned out if you were able.
