God forgives EVERYONE. Christian and non-Christian.
It would be better if you desire to ask questions, if we take them one or 2 at a time. Christianity is hard to grasp all looking at the total picture at one time. I have been a Christian sinse 1960 and I STILL have questions and run into things hard to grasp. When one does become a Christian tho, the Holy Spirit will help guide you, and different things will come to mind. I promise to work through this with you and will not be hateful or rude to you. Deal??? Oh, would you be apposed to giving me your e-mail address? That way I can answer you between working. I work with elderly seniors at night, so I work while you sleep and sleep when you work. I am headed out right now as we speak. Let me know what you think.I will reply to you tomorrow.

I answer all the questions in bold myself where it says "me" (no hurry to check their correctness, Zerich)
This will be all for now
--I only have 1 question below for you

1. According to 1 John 3:9 above, what is true of someone who is "born of God?"

me: he does not sin because he is born of God
(I thought all people sinned--christian or not)
Question--Does God forgive the christian but not others?

2. According to Galatians 6:14 above, what did the cross do for Paul? What do you think this means?

me:he world has been crucified to him and him to the world. He turns from worldly ways.

3. What two types of people are listed in 1 Corinthians 1:18? What are the different reactions evidenced by each of them?

me:Those perishing and those being saved by the power of God Folly to those perishing and power of God to those being saved

4. According to 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 above, what is of first importance?

me:Christ died for sins, was buried and was raised on the 3rd. day in accordance with scripture

5. According to 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, what is the gospel?

me: Christ died for sins, was buried and rose again

6. As you embark on this study, what thoughts or questions do you have?

me:Whether or not I want to be a christian

7. What are your goals as you study through this course?

me:To find out what it means to be a christian

Bubbles,I just open this and saw that you had replied to my response to you. I need to ask that you forgive me right now, but I have two hours before I must head to work and I work nights. I see where you left me some questions, and I WILL answer them for you
Just give me a little time.
To begin,,, The word Gospel means "Good News"
The gospel is composed of, The death, The burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Share The Good News Empty Study #1

Post  Bubbles Sat 03 Oct 2009, 10:04 pm

This is a study that a place called "setting captives free" recommended for non-christians. I could not find a "simple" study of John but this course uses some of the book of John. I hope that you don't mind. It is for beginners. Think it has about 13 lessons.

My answers in bold below. I will ask questions as needed.

THE CROSS

Question 1
According to 1 Corinthians 2:1-2, what was Paul's message to the Corinthians?

me:To know Christ and him crucified

Question 2
According to Romans 1:16 and 1 Corinthians 2:1-5, what is the gospel (the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ) called?

me:The power of God to salvation for those who believe

Question 3
According to John 12:31, what would happen when Jesus died on the cross?

me: the ruler of the world is cast out (satan)

Question 4
According to John 12:32, what would happen when Jesus died on the cross?

me: He draws all people to himself

Hello there Bubbles,Thank you for posting on my message. You are right as rain, saying the Cyberworld is full of fighting. It is a shame that Christians fight among each other as to what is right and who is wrong.I think the problem is that "Man" in their pride wants to feel they are right.
It is good that you are searching. The main advice I can give you is to look at the book of John in the bible. That book will explain more to you about the Lord Jesus Christ than any book I know of in the Bible.I personally like reading in an easy to follow bible like the New American Standard version.
Don't be afraid of Jesus. He came because he loves you regardless of your past.In Him is the good news you seek.I would be tickeled to start in the beginning with you, and I promise not to jump in your face. Again I thank you for responding to my posting.

Share The Good News Empty Good News?

Post  Bubbles Sat 03 Oct 2009, 6:34 pm

I could use some good news but I have no faith or creed. What I see in cyberworld is lots of fighting over creeds. I want something sacred to believe in that does not cause wars and in-fighting. I am a little afraid about Jesus because I don't understand him or his people? I am risking a look if you can help me start from scratch?

Share The Good News Empty Share Your Faith

Post  Zerich Wed 17 Jun 2009, 11:29 am

How about the rest of the way?
See, believing isn't enough.
After all the demons believe.... and tremble!

The verse says we are to be ready to give a reason for our faith....
give a reason.
That isn't just knowing what we believe, it is know WHY we believe it.
Anyone can believe anything at all.. see ye the Atheist! The JW
The Mormon.
The Catholic etc etc....

In the days when the Bible was assumed to be correct and the word of God was assumed to be absolute and respectable, people were not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus, one could make that claim.
I know what I believe.

But let some one ask "Why?" because every cult on the planets claims to know what they believe also.
So if one is not a Christian, or is new, then WHAT is not so necessary as WHY.

Why do we take God's word for it?
Why do we believe the Bible?
Why do we believe it is historically correct and reliable?
DO we believe the Bible is historically correct and reliable?
Why are the other religions false and only Christianity right?

There is a LOT of pollution and the enemy is clever enough to seed every false belief with God's won words of truth and then twist them just enough to deceive down a wrong path.

Last example.
A Mormon will say he believes in Jesus for salvation and the Bible.

But there are things he doesn't say that define what he did say.
His Jesus, turned his back on his church for turning their backs on him>
His Jesus has a father god who used to be a man.
His Jesus is the spirit brother to satan, by the same parents (God has many celestial wives in Mormon land) ...
His Jesus doesn't look much like the Jesus of the Bible, yet the Mormon insists he is a Christian.

The vocabulary is the same.
The dictionary is not.

We believe Jesus of the Bible is the ONLY Son of THE eternal God who has never been less than God, that He is God incarnate, and our only hope of salvation.
by grace, through faith and that from God and not our own.
But the Book of Mormon says it is by grace you are saved AFTER all that YOU can do.

I have talked to Christians who have said "Aren't Mormons/ JW/ Catholics etc. Christians?

To be a Buddhist one must follow Buddha.
To be a Muhammadan one must follow Mohammad.
To be a Christian one follows the real and true Jesus.
Following an idea about Him which looks nothing like Him is following a false Christ.

And to follow Jesus, one should know why he is the way the truth and the life.

Just a thought to add on...

Know What You Believe
1 PETER 3:13-16

Some people claim that it doesn't make a bit of difference what they believe. In fact, certain individuals go so far as to deny the existence of truth. Yet our belief system actually matters tremendously, because it is the foundation for our character, conduct, and decisions.

For instance, a person who concludes that there is no God and no eternity will live selfishly for the moment. On the other hand, someone who trusts in the Lord and His promise of heaven will have a completely different lifestyle and purpose. Obedience, faith, and responsibility will characterize him as he lives to please his heavenly Father.

Knowing what we believe is critical--first of all, because our salvation depends on it. In John 8: 24, Jesus made a powerful and unequivocal statement about this subject: "Unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." The Bible is very clear that all people have sinned and in their natural state are separated from God (Rom. 3:23). The punishment for sin is death, which is eternal separation from the Lord. But the Father, in His love and mercy, sent His own Son to die in our place. As a result, everyone who believes in Jesus is forgiven and receives His free gift of salvation.

Believers are to share the good news of salvation, but the world's hostility can make us afraid. Today's passage encourages us not to fear. Telling others about Jesus doesn't require lofty words or long quotations of memorized Scripture. Simply be ready with an answer if you're asked about "the hope that is in you" (1 Peter 3:15).
