BREAKING: Facebook Makes Major Russia Admission

CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerburg has long been known for his support of progressive causes. However, he has been forced to admit that one progressive cause, i.e. the Russian collusion scandal, is not what it seems.

The failing liberal narrative about Russia is, of course, that the Kremlin purchased thousands of Facebook ads in order to help then-candidate Donald Trump. But it was recently revealed that Russian operatives purchased around 3,000 ads with the intent to sow discord in the United States — not in support of either candidate.

This targeted campaign began in 2015.

Presidential Candidates
One of the key linchpins of this story for Democrats has been derailed. Specifically, Facebook could find no evidence that these Russian ads directly attacked Hillary Clinton or supported Donald Trump.

The social media giant released a press statement essentially characterizing the ads as pure agitprop, stating that “the vast majority of ads run by these accounts didn’t specifically reference the U.S. presidential election, voting, or a particular candidate.”

Facebook’s Chief Security Officer Alex Stamos further added:

Rather, the ads and accounts appeared to focus on amplifying divisive social and political messages across the ideological spectrum.
Russia’s Goals
It seems fairly clear from all of this that the Kremlin never supported one candidate or the other. After all, while Trump supports friendlier relations with the Eurasian state, Moscow has a history of working closely with Clinton and the Clinton Foundation.

For Russia, America’s internal politics are important for external issues. Russia feels threatened by the encroachment of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) armies on its western and southern borders.

Since the U.S. is the chief mover and shaker of NATO, a politically divided America could help to keep the country focused on domestic, rather than international issues.

If the United States were to leave NATO, the organization would likely fail. The U.S. funds over one-fifth of NATO’s budget, while many militaries in the system pay less than 1 percent in GDP in armament or troop contributions.

The Narrative is Sinking
In her new memoir, What Happened?, Clinton blames “Russian meddling” for her defeat, among other things. But this new information from Facebook shows that her accusations hold no water.

“There’s nothing I was looking forward to more than showing Putin that his efforts to influence our election and install a friendly puppet had failed,” Clinton wrote. “I know he must be enjoying everything that’s happened instead.”

Wrong again, Hillary.
