Palestinians is a name they took from the land of Israel given to Israel through a covenant from God. The Roman Empire gained control of Israel and they gave Israel's land the name of Palestine. Those Muslims called Palestinians never had control of the land God gave to Israel. It has been part of what the Palestinians have said to gain support for their desire to have Jerusalem as their capital and to gain control of Israel's land.
The Gaza Strip which is beautiful land bordering on the Mediterranean Sea was given to the Palestinians in return for peace they promised to Israel. Those who were citizens of Israel were uprooted so the Palestinians could have the land. They promised peace to Israel. The Palestinians got the land but didn't give Israel any of the peace promised to them for that land.
