Ephesus Legend


According to Legends was founded by female warriors called Amazons.
The name of the city derived from "APASAS" Kingdon of ARZAWA meaning the city of the mother Godess. Was inhabited end of bronze age. Grew to be one of the wealthiest cities in the mediterranean. The Lydeian King Croesus defeated Cyrus King of Persia until arrival of Alexander The Great, on his death the general of Lysimach ruled the city named it Arsinea, after his wife wanted to change direction of the harbour, blocked the whole sewage system during a storm and force the Ephesians to move in 287BC The city refounded under the old name.
