On September 22, unnoticed by most Americans, the Biden-Harris administration adopted the United Nations Pact for the Future to transform global governance, which introduces the foundations of a world government. There was no debate, no media coverage, no press releases, and no interviews about the Biden-Harris administration's surrender of United States sovereignty to the UN.
Americans were apparently not supposed to find out.
The UN bragged that the pact is the "most comprehensive agreement in many years" describing it as "covering entirely new areas and addressing issues where no consensus has been reached for decades." This is concerning.
At the Summit of the Future in September 2024, world leaders passed the UN's Pact for the Future to transform global governance, the Digital Compact and the Declaration on Future Generations. These agreements usher in a dystopian future, where the UN -- an active supporter of terrorism and arguably the world's most corrupt international entity, led by socialists, communists and dictatorships -- in partnership with the unelected and unaccountable World Economic Forum, led by Klaus Schwab and his covey of billionaire business leaders, is given unprecedented power over the peoples of sovereign countries, who have had no say whatsoever on the contents of this pact, because it has been kept hidden from them.
The Pact for the Future seeks to strengthen, empower and "transform" UN global governance -- a fancy way of saying world government -- to seize more power for the UN and its partner globalist elites in the WEF.
"We will transform global governance and strengthen the multilateral system to help us to achieve a world that is safe, peaceful, just, equal, inclusive, sustainable and prosperous," the Pact for the Future proclaims in section V, named "Transforming global governance."
The Pact is full of the familiar and meaningless UN fluff about "eradicating poverty" and "strengthening human rights" that the UN has falsely been promising and peddling for decades, goals that nobody believes the UN even wants to achieve. All the UN seems to be doing is demonizing the Middle East's only democracy, Israel, to the exclusion of all other conflicts on the planet, and sanctifying "climate change," seemingly code for a prospective "transfer of wealth."
A large part of the Pact is dedicated to "turbocharging" the UN's Agenda 2030. Much of this consists of fighting the fake crisis of "climate change" by achieving "net-zero" carbon dioxide emissions. Hidden at the very bottom of the 56-page document -- action point 54 -- is actually one of the most important items: the power-grab of the UN's secretary-general: strengthening "the international response to complex global shocks":
"We will uphold the Secretary-General's role to, inter alia, convene Member States, promote the coordination of the whole multilateral system and engage with relevant stakeholders in response to crises. We request the Secretary-General to: (a) Consider approaches to strengthen the United Nations system response to complex global shocks, within existing authorities and in consultation with Member States...We recognize the need for a more coherent, cooperative, coordinated and multidimensional international response to complex global shocks and the central role of the United Nations in this regard."
The UN secretary-general, in other words, is to control responses to "global shocks", which the UN describes as:
"Complex global shocks are events that have severely disruptive and adverse consequences for a significant proportion of countries and the global population, and that lead to impacts across multiple sectors, requiring a multidimensional and whole-of-government, whole-of-society response."
These could presumably be regional conflicts; a pandemic -- or whatever the UN deems a pandemic; a real or invented "climate crisis;" wars, or whatever other pretext the UN secretary-general comes up with to take control and impose measures on the world that the UN sees fit. The corrupt, unelected and unaccountable UN would now like to be the world's policeman -- presumably leaving defendants with no recourse.
The UN proclaimed in a press release last year:
"Our global interconnectedness means that shocks that occur in one country or sector can quickly have cascading consequences elsewhere, often in unforeseen ways. Those shocks are coming at us with greater strength and frequency, with serious implications for peace and security, economic stability, and environmental sustainability. And they can have a disproportionate impact in some areas. Both the COVID-19 pandemic and the global cost-of-living crisis hit the poorest and most vulnerable hardest, throwing SDG progress and Agenda 2030 further off-track.
The global response to such shocks is often ad hoc, fragmented, and improvised. We need a mechanism to tackle multidimensional threats with a multidimensional response. This policy brief calls for a more formal, predictable, and structured approach. An emergency platform would leverage the UN's convening power and capacities in a timely and predictable way... Crucially, it would promote a global response based on solidarity and equity and the key principle of leaving no one behind. All people and countries hit by a shock must have access to the support they need,"
This would not be optional. The UN makes clear that the new system "is leaving no one behind."
To ensure that all present and future UN and WEF agendas can pass without bothering with pesky dissenting opinions, the UN member states also passed the Digital Global Compact as an annex to the Pact. The Compact is a new totalitarian tool of censorship meant to silence anyone who disagrees with the globalist agenda. Buried near the end of the Digital Global Compact, in paragraph 30, is the only thing you need to know about it:
"We must urgently counter and address... all forms of hate speech and discrimination, misinformation and disinformation... We will establish and maintain robust risk mitigation and redress measures... We commit by, 2030 to: (a) Create a safe and secure online space for all users that ensures their mental health and well-being by defining and adopting common standards, guidelines and industry actions that are in compliance with international law, promote safe civic spaces and address content on digital platforms that causes harm to individuals, taking into account work under way by United Nations entities, regional organizations and multi-stakeholder initiatives...
Establish regular collaboration between national online safety institutions to exchange best practices and develop shared understandings of actions... Develop, in consultation with all relevant stakeholders, effective methodologies to measure, monitor and counter all forms of violence and abuse in the digital space... call on social media platforms to establish safe, secure and accessible reporting mechanisms for users and their advocates to report potential policy violations."
The UN, its member states and the Biden-Harris administration evidently want to establish world-wide censorship that will make any future criticism of their power grab impossible.
The foundations of the censorship are already in place and activated to a worrying degree: In 2021-22, the UN entered into a partnership with Google to ensure that the search engine only display information reflecting UN perspectives. Dissenting views would have to be erased. The UN did not even hide their totalitarian move, and issued a press release about it.
Melissa Fleming, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, said:
"We are happy to team with Google to ensure that factual, trustworthy content about climate is available to as wide a global audience as possible, Misinformation is so widespread these days that it threatens progress and understanding on many critical issues, including climate. The need for accurate, science-based information on a subject like climate change has therefore never been greater."
At the 2022 World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Fleming innocently revealed the UN agenda behind censoring the internet, making it clear that censoring the internet is for the good of the great unwashed masses, whom the UN deems too dangerous to make up their own minds:
"As long as the social media platforms had become so dominant, there was already a proliferation of mis- and disinformation that was making achieving what we were trying to achieve, a better world and a more inclusive, a more peaceful and harmonious world -- it was making it more difficult. But with Covid-19 we realized very quickly we were in a communication crisis... WHO called it an infodemic... which meant if you were a internet user... you were just confused because there was so much information... some of it good... some of it really, really, bad...
"You know, we partnered with Google, for example, if you Google climate change, you will, at the top of your search, get all kinds of UN resources. We started this partnership when we were shocked to see that when we Googled climate change, we were getting incredibly distorted information right at the top. So we're becoming much more proactive, you know we own the science and we think that the world should know it and the [social media] platforms also do. It's a huge challenge that all sectors of society need to be very active in."
The partnership has paid off tremendously for the UN and the globalists: Google is clearly doing the UN's bidding. If you try to google the words "climate change" today, every single dissenting view has been suppressed by the search engine.
In the first twenty-plus pages of results that come up on Google, not a single of them deviates from the UN/WEF narrative, with most results only containing links to UN bodies or other institutions that partner with the UN, such as the EU, the World Bank, government websites and a few climate-alarmist articles from the Guardian, the New York Times, AP and Reuters.
This is what UN censorship looks like now. Can you imagine what it will be in a few years, if countries do not immediately move to stop it?

The Great China Shell Game: The U.S. Must Stop Playing Sanctions Whack-A-Mole with the CCP
by Gordon G. Chang • July 1, 2024 at 5:00 am
There is no mystery why China's big banks have run from Russia: These behemoths — the four largest banks in the world ranked by assets are Chinese — know the U.S. can effectively impose a death sentence. The Secretary of the Treasury, for instance, can designate, pursuant to Section 311 of the USA PATRIOT Act, Chinese banks to be of "primary money laundering concern." Designated banks can no longer clear dollar transactions through New York, where every dollar transaction clears.
Because the dollar reigns supreme in international transactions, Section 311 designations would put the Chinese state banks out of business most everywhere outside China and even reduce their business inside that country. The Treasury Department, to great effect, imposed Section 311 on Bank of Dandong, a small Chinese bank, in 2017 for participating in prohibited transactions with North Korea.
Moreover, Washington has other tools to hit Chinese banks. In 2012, Treasury also cut China's Bank of Kunlun off from the U.S. financial system by invoking the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act of 2010.
"Transactions between China and Russia will increasingly go through underground channels." The underground channels include cryptocurrency, generally banned in China. -- "[T]he head of a trade body in a southeastern province that represents Chinese businesses with Russian interests" to Reuters.
China's regime is playing Americans for fools. It is time for Washington to sanction all Chinese banks, all other Chinese financial institutions, and all Chinese corporates, treating them as one single organization.
Sanctions will work... if they are immediately applied against all Chinese entities to produce maximum shock.
There is no point in imposing sanctions that never have a chance of stopping offending behavior.

The larger Chinese banks, in response to stern U.S. warnings, have this year been exiting transactions involving Russia.
Are America's sanctions efforts finally working?
No. Beijing is merely shifting transactions to smaller banks and non-banking channels. China, to help Russia's war effort in Ukraine, is employing a decades-old stratagem: the shell game.
At best, America's sanctions are crimping the fast-growing China-Russia trade, not ending it.
Beijing, Moscow's "no-limits" partner, has provided across-the-board support for the Russian war effort since the start of the conflict. In recent months, China has been supplying machine tools, semiconductors, and other dual-use items. It has also helped out with weapons technology and satellite imagery. Reporting from last year shows that Chinese parties were selling ammunition in large quantities.

"Christian sanitation workers work long shifts even in extreme weather conditions.... these workers are often ridiculed and mistreated because of their Christian faith.... They often face salary delays and no job security. They are discriminated against even by their Muslim colleagues, and now we are witnessing incidents of physical violence against these weak people." — Sunil Gulzar, Christian socio-political activist, Morning Star News, May 29, 2024, Pakistan.

Wall-Building Reaches Iran
by Amir Taheri • June 30, 2024 at 4:00 am
All candidates are career government employees molded by the same ideology and committed to "total and absolute obedience" to the "Supreme Guide".
This time, we don't even have the usual Punch-&-Judy show by "Reformists" and "Fundamentalists."
However, the campaign has thrown a grenade in Iranian political life by presenting immigration, in the words of Gen. Muhammad Baqer Qalibaf, one of the wannabes, as "the root-cause of all major problems the nation faces."
Qalibaf hasn't offered a shred of evidence to back his claims. Nor has the government of which he has been a part for 40 years produced a single serious report on Afghan immigrants in Iran.
The fact, however, is that no Afghan has been involved in any of the 22 terrorist attacks that Tehran has attributed to ISIS since 2019.
Tehran supported various anti-Taliban armed groups and, once the US-backed Islamic Republic was placed in Kabul, became the third-largest donor of aid to the Karzai-Ghani regimes. For about a decade, the flow of refugees was reduced to a trickle.
The flow intensified again after the Taliban returned to power in August 2021. Surprisingly, since then, trade between the two neighbors has picked up. Last year, Afghanistan was Iran's second-largest trading partner and foreign investor.
And yet, pressure on Afghan refugees in Iran has intensified. At least 6,000 are currently in prison on various charges while many more are subjected to daily insults, intimidation, semi-official racketeering, eviction and unpaid wages.
Even worse, at least 300,000 children, many of them third- or fourth-generation immigrants, are denied access to schooling because they lack official papers necessary.
The manner in which most Afghan immigrants are treated violates Iran's laws.
The 1934 Nationality and Naturalization Act bases the granting of Iranian nationality on the "blood and soil" principle, under which anyone born of Iranian ancestry and anyone born on Iranian soil could demand naturalization as a citizen. Foreign women married o Iranian men automatically become Iranian along with their children.
Yet according to official surveys some 100,000 Afghan women married to Iranians and over 300,000 of their children are categorized as stateless.
The irony is that Afghans are the closest people to Iranians. Part of what became Afghanistan was separated by the British with the Paris Treaty of 1857, in a process that during the notorious Great Game finally put Afghanistan on the map as a buffer state in 1879.
Thus, a judicious reading of the 1934 Act could enable many Afghans to claim citizenship based on common ancestry.
It is sad that the candidates in the Islamic Republic election ignore Iran's own laws, traditions and cultural values.
Pictured: Saeed Jalili, an Iranian presidential candidate, casts his vote at a polling station in Tehran during Iran's presidential election on June 28, 2024. (Photo by Hossein Beris/Middle East Image/AFP via Getty Images)
On June 28, million of Iranians voted to elect a new president of the Islamic Republic from among six pre-approved candidates in a first round.
It isn't clear how many of those eligible to vote, including those in exile, registered to do so.
The early election caused by the death of President Ayatollah Dr. Sayyed Ibrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash, and the brief campaign have offered little opportunity for would-be voters to assess the candidates.
All candidates are career government employees molded by the same ideology and committed to "total and absolute obedience" to the "Supreme Guide".
This time, we don't even have the usual Punch-&-Judy show by "Reformists" and "Fundamentalists."

The Obama and Biden Administrations: Paving the Way for a Nuclear-Armed Iran
by Majid Rafizadeh • June 29, 2024 at 5:00 am
America's "diplomatic efforts," instead of putting a stop to Iran's nuclear program, have only resulted in a series of concessions that have empowered the Iranian regime. The lack of stringent enforcement and verification measures, and especially lifting secondary sanctions -- by which any country that does business with Iran is prohibited from doing business with America -- have allowed Iran to accelerate its nuclear activities "under the radar."
Iran's continued development of ballistic missile technology and its persistent test firings of missiles, both in clear violation of UN resolutions, were largely overlooked. In addition, the growing bellicosity of Iran's huge militia, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as well as the nuclear program itself, were apparently never addressed with the seriousness they warranted -- thereby allowing Iran to expand its military capabilities and regional aggression unchecked.
The Iranian regime strategically allocated these funds to support and expand its own proxy presence throughout the region, including, among other spots, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Mali, Burkina Faso and the Gaza Strip.
The Trump administration implemented a "maximum pressure" policy aimed at curtailing Iran's economic capabilities by particularly focusing on reducing the country's oil exports, and, most importantly, establishing "secondary sanctions" that banned any country doing business with Iran from doing business with the US.
The Biden administration's passive approach of trying to use what might look like "protection money" to try to bribe Iran into compliance has simply backfired. Iran took the billions and, unsurprisingly, appears to have fungibly used them to finance several wars in the region -- Hamas and Hezbollah's war against Israel, the Houthis' war against Israel and the US, and Iran's own April 13 missile- and drone-attack against Israel -- as well as Iran's nuclear weapons program.
The Biden administration, sadly, seems to have been the enabling factor in Iran's continued regional assertiveness and nuclear advancement. The administration's series of policies favorable to Iran significantly strengthened the regime to the point where Iran and its proxies are now actively engaged in a comprehensive war against Israel, the Sunni Arab Gulf States and, since October, more than 150 attacks on US troops in the region.

As Iran is on the brink of acquiring nuclear weapons, the responsibility for this development lies squarely on the shoulders of the Obama and Biden administrations. Through a series of misinformed and misguided policies, they have paved the way for Iran to realize its nuclear ambitions.
America's "diplomatic efforts," instead of putting a stop to Iran's nuclear program, have only resulted in a series of concessions that have empowered the Iranian regime. The lack of stringent enforcement and verification measures, and especially lifting secondary sanctions -- by which any country that does business with Iran is prohibited from doing business with America -- have allowed Iran to accelerate its nuclear activities "under the radar." The leniency and strategic missteps of both the Obama and Biden administrations have thus critically undermined global non-proliferation efforts, bringing the world to the current situation where Iran stands about to become a nuclear-armed state.

The World's Most Dangerous Delusion: Biden Thinks China Wants Stability
by Gordon G. Chang • June 26, 2024 at 5:00 am
Americans may think they are at peace with China, but China's ruling organization has already announced otherwise.
[I]n May 2019, People's Daily... carried a landmark editorial declaring a "people's war" on America.
This phrase sounds like meaningless propaganda to American ears, but it has special significance to the Party. "A people's war is a total war, and its strategy and tactics require the overall mobilization of political, economic, cultural, diplomatic, military, and other power resources, the integrated use of multiple forms of struggle and combat methods," declared a column carried in April 2023 by PLA Daily, the official newspaper of the People's Liberation Army.
China has in fact weaponized just about everything. In 1999, two Chinese air force colonels, Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui, in Unrestricted Warfare, listed 24 methods of warfare and advocated the use of all of them against the United States.
[U]nrestricted warfare contemplates the turning of everything into a weapon, from business interactions to tourism to terrorism to illegal drugs to disease.
All of these incidents are in defiance of about a dozen written and oral warnings, from the Biden State Department and President Biden himself, that the U.S. was prepared to use force against China to discharge America's obligations to Manila pursuant to the 1951 Mutual Defense Treaty
The American political class—both Democrats and Republicans—refuse to see Chinese hostility and act appropriately against it. The Communist Party, therefore, did not have to deceive Americans because Americans were determined to deceive themselves.
Xi Jinping has made it clear that his goal is to bring down the international system, to "crack skulls and spill blood" as he announced in a landmark speech on July 1, 2021.

"It's very hard for China to take certain steps without harming its own economy," U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell said on June 12. "And I think we now understand that economic performance is central right now to what is important to President Xi."
"Campbell," Reuters reported, "told Washington's Stimson Center think tank China needed to reassure investors and others that it has a plan for its economy and would not be looking to create frictions that could escalate in unpredictable and dangerous ways."
The Communist Party of China, according to the Biden administration, wants stability. That is a dangerous self-delusion. Moreover, it is a view that is indefensible in light of Beijing's actions, some recent.

The Biden administration needs urgently to take decisive action to curb Iran's aggressive nuclear advancements. The US needs to stop its current practice of waiving sanctions on Iran and start reimposing -- and enforcing -- severe sanctions on the country's oil and gas industry. The US also needs to cut off the financial flow to the regime by imposing secondary sanctions: any country that does business with Iran may not do business with the United States.
US failure to act will only rapidly lead to a nuclear-armed Iran, significantly upending global stability and providing a potential vacuum for America's adversaries to fill.

California Legalized Drugs. Cartels Took It Over.
by Daniel Greenfield • June 21, 2024 at 5:00 am
Six years after California legalized marijuana, the bodies keep piling up. Drug legalization has failed on every level. The legal drug business is collapsing. Cartels and gang members dominate the business. And open borders allowed them to bring massive numbers of laborers to boost their ranks. Pictured: San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies and other law enforcement agents cut down cannabis plants during a raid on an illegal cannabis farm in Newberry Springs, in the western Mojave Desert of California on March 29, 2024. Six years after California legalized marijuana, the bodies keep piling up. Earlier this year, six men were murdered in the Mojave Desert. Four of the men had been burned after being shot with rifles. In 2020, seven people were killed at an illegal pot operation in Riverside County.
Violence like this was supposed to disappear after legalization. Legalization advocates argued that making the drug trade legal would end the grip of the cartels. Instead, the legal market has failed, and the cartels are taking over sizable parts of California and the rest of the country.
California's legal drug revenues have fallen consistently, as have those in other legal drug states including Colorado, whose model helped sell the idea that drug money would fix everything.

Europe: Nazis' 'Do Not Buy from Jews' 2.0
by Robert Williams • June 20, 2024 at 5:00 am
Since October 7, when Iranian proxies Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad committed unspeakable atrocities against men, women, children and babies in Israel, large parts of the international community have been in a frenzy over the Jews' puzzling inclination to defend themselves.
This is the same French government [which banned Israel from participating in Eurosatory 2024 defense industry trade fair] so obsessed with appearing inclusive and non-discriminatory that it recently supported a bill that outlaws discrimination based on hair texture, length, color or style.
Meanwhile, the French government did not think it necessary to ban the participation of China, presently indulging in two genocides – against Tibetans and against Uyghurs – from participating in Eurosatory. China's representation at the trade fair counts around 61 defense companies.
The French government also did not ban... Turkey, which has been taken to the International Criminal Court for committing crimes against humanity against hundreds of thousands of opponents of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's ruthless regime...
When there are no Jews to blame, evidently, crimes against humanity, genocide and human rights abuses are perfectly acceptable.
Since October 7, more than 19,000 rockets have been launched into Israel, a country smaller than New Jersey, primarily by the terrorist groups ruling Gaza, as well as from another of Iran's terrorist proxies, Hezbollah in Lebanon
Never mind that John Spencer, Chair of Urban Warfare Studies at the Modern War Institute at West Point, determined that Israel has consistently implemented more measures to prevent civilian casualties than any military in the history of warfare.
"The Middle East does not need more weapons, it needs more peace," said Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares. The remark, oddly, did not appear to be addressed the entities that started the war: Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and Qatar.
Iran, the Middle East's warmonger par excellence, and -- along with major funding from Qatar, which seems never to have met an Islamic terrorist group it did not finance or promote -- was the originator of the current war in Gaza.
Iran's terrorist proxies span the region -- Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza; Hezbollah in Lebanon; the Houthis in Yemen, and various proxy militias in Syria and Iraq -- well-funded because of the Biden administration's lifting sanctions. Yet Albares has nothing but praise for Iran.
The submission to the Islamic regime by European leaders such as Albares, who knows full well that Iran is behind the war in Gaza, tells us more about them than about Israel.
In April, however, the EU imposed sanctions on Israeli "settlers." Regrettably, to many Palestinians, all of Israel is "one big settlement" that needs to be uprooted, and everyone there, a "settler."
France and other European countries are falling over themselves to boycott and exclude Israel. Pictured: Members of the Nazi SA and SS in Berlin paste a sign onto a Jewish shop, calling on Germans to boycott Jewish businesses, on April 1, 1933. (Photo by Hulton Archive/Getty Images)
Since October 7, when Iranian proxies Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad committed unspeakable atrocities against men, women, children and babies in Israel, large parts of the international community have been in a frenzy over the Jews' puzzling inclination to defend themselves.
This preference, however, not to simply let themselves be murdered by allowing Iran -- through Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah -- to continue inflicting death and misery on them, has led to several countries to break ties with Israel. Not only that, but other countries have recalled their ambassadors, amid demands for boycott, divestment, sanctions (BDS), isolation, and general exclusion from world society of the world's only Jewish state.
Biden Administration Seeks to Silence Consensus Civil Society Organizations in Israel
by Naomi Linder Kahn • June 20, 2024 at 4:00 am
The letter provides irrefutable evidence and undeniable testimony that the humanitarian aid provided to Gaza, ostensibly to the civilian population, is invariably commandeered by Hamas: The letter cites statements to this effect by the US embassy in Israel, the US government itself, the IDF, UNRWA – and even Fatah officials.
"The shocking truth is that the United States is providing material support to a terrorist organization that is waging a brutal war against the only democratic ally the US has in the middle east, and the US-funded and trained Palestinian Authority Security Forces are no different than Hamas. Exposing the terrorist nature of the US's 'partner for peace' is 'inconvenient,' to put it politely, so the Administration has decided to attack the messenger in order to suppress the message." – Meir Deutsch, Director General, Regavim.

Biden Administration seeks to silence consensus civil society organizations in Israel with sanctions typically used against terrorists: "A draconian measure that harks back to the days of colonialist oppression."
A team of legal experts submitted a sharply worded letter to the US State Department following the announcement of Executive Order 14115 sanctioning the Tzav 9 Movement. "The Executive Order is an anti-democratic attack on free speech and the right to protest."
Earlier this week (Monday), following publication on Friday, 14 June 2024 of a US Executive Order imposing sanctions on the Israeli protest movement Tzav 9, a team of lawyers headed by Attorneys Marc Zell, Noam Schreiber, Jerome Marcus and other experts in US and international law, on behalf of the Regavim Movement, sent a request for clarification to the US State Department.

Israel Gave Work Permits, While Palestinians Planned Oct. 7 Massacre
by Bassam Tawil • June 18, 2024 at 5:00 am
Prior to the October 7 massacre, more than 170,000 Palestinians were working in Israel, constituting an important source of income for the Palestinian economy.... The Palestinians from the Gaza Strip who were permitted to work in Israel received many of the same rights as Israeli workers, including health insurance and pension plans.
"I will be able to earn about $120 dollars a day [in Israel], while I cannot even earn $250 dollars a month in Gaza. Due to the difficult political and economic conditions, the people of the Gaza Strip suffer greatly from poverty and are unable to build a future for their children like their parents." — Mohammed Kamal, a 38-year-old father of four from the Gaza Strip, newarab.com, March 24, 2022.
It appears that the murderers and rapists from the Gaza Strip saw Israel's goodwill gestures as an indication of Israel's weakness. In addition, they apparently saw the controversy in Israel surrounding the Israeli government's judicial reform plan as a sign that Israel had become extremely weak, especially when anti-government protesters threatened to boycott military reserve service.
The October 7 atrocities serve as a reminder that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not about improving the living conditions of the Palestinians or strengthening their economy. Instead, the conflict is about the desire of the majority of Palestinians to slaughter Jews and destroy Israel.
Pre-and post-October 7 public opinion polls have consistently demonstrated that the majority of Palestinians back Hamas and believe that the atrocities committed on that day were "correct."
Now, Palestinians can blame Hamas not only for dragging them into a disastrous war with Israel, but also for having left tens of thousands of families jobless in the wake of their loss of permits to work in Israel.
Instead of brainwashing and indoctrinating their people against Israel and Jews, Palestinian leaders need to be required to focus on creating job opportunities and boosting the Palestinian economy, which the flow of international handouts have relieved them from doing.
The Palestinians would also greatly benefit if they would realize that there are actually dire repercussions when they "bite the hand that feeds them."
After the October 7 atrocities, it would be absurd to assume that Israel will once more welcome tens of thousands of laborers from the Gaza Strip. Many of those workers to whom Israel opened its doors were apparently working in Israel by day, and by night returning to Gaza and providing Hamas with highly detailed maps and drawings of every house in Israel's border communities, and reports about everyone in them, including the pet dogs.
A massacre was not the outcome many had expected after the Israelis' willingness to help to improve the lives of their Palestinian neighbors.
"Black-and-white depictions of Gaza before the war are not only inaccurate but fail to capture the color-rich realities that existed, in which the potential for coexistence and peace was present in daily occurrences; human-to-human connections between Palestinian workers and Israelis were a window of what the future could look like." — Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, former resident of the Gaza Strip, x.com, June 16, 2024.
Pictured: Palestinian men in the northern Gaza Strip gather to apply for permits to work in Israel, on October 6, 2021. (Photo by Mahmud Hams/AFP via Getty Images)
On the eve of Hamas's October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, Israeli authorities had issued work permits to some 18,500 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, according to the Israeli Defense Ministry's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), a body responsible for Palestinian civil affairs. Israel was forced to revoke the work permits for security reasons after the October 7 atrocities carried out by Hamas and thousands of "ordinary" Palestinians.
This was particularly true in light of evidence that some of the workers had used their time in Israel to gather intelligence on the Israeli communities that were targeted on October 7. The work permits of another 80,000 Palestinians from the West Bank have also been suspended in the aftermath of the Hamas attack. Prior to the October 7 massacre, more than 170,000 Palestinians were working in Israel, constituting an important source of income for the Palestinian economy.

The Russians are coming. Again.
In a dramatic reminder that the Russians are seeking to intimidate the White House and launch a second chapter of the Cold War, a Russian nuclear-powered submarine, along with an accompanying flotilla of warships, recently spent five days visiting Cuba. In the event, the Oval Office missed the point; several of these vessels can deploy nuclear-tipped cruise missiles.
Published reports suggest the Biden Administration's response is studied indifference, telling reporters that missile test firings off the Florida coast by the Russian vessels were routine.
Hardly.
Putin's navy is reminding the United States that it has recaptured the Soviet Union's ability to project naval power where and when it wants. And by extension, that if it wishes to send a potent reminder that it has the coordinates of America's cities if it ever came to unleashing the unimaginable, it doesn't need to base ballistic missiles in Cuba.

How Communist China Plans to Rule the Rest of the World
by Uzay Bulut • June 17, 2024 at 5:00 am
"China owns $870 billion in U.S. Treasuries that finance our debt. And they either own or have a huge portion of the Chicago Stock Exchange, AMC movie theaters, General Electric's appliance division, General Motors, and Smithfield Foods just to name a few. On another alarming note, folks. China owns 384,000 acres of American agricultural land. That's a 30% increase just since 2019. And on top of that, they own land near an air force base in North Dakota. That's a clear threat to our national security and that's what the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill is going to address." — US Rep. Mike Collins, July 23, 2023.
In 2023, Texas State Senator Lois Kolkhorst filed a bill, SB 147 that would ban "citizens, governments and entities from China, Iran, North Korea and Russia from purchasing land in the state, part of what she and other Republicans have said will help stem foreign influence in Texas."
"What I fear most Americans do not realize the ambitions and goals of Xi Jinping. He and his thugs wish to bring our great nation under his control, and he'll do whatever he can to accomplish that goal." — Pastor Bob Fu, founder of ChinaAid, to promote religious freedom and rule of law in China, Midland Reporter-Telegram, March 7, 2023.
"... Communist Party leaders... they are also suffering under this brutal dictator Xi Jinping. Nobody's safe, you know, many of his right-hand men, left-hand men are being ransomed, imprisoned, forced to commit suicide. You're talking about hundreds, many, I mean senior leaders end up now in prison or being killed, so nobody feels safe in the Communist Party regime." — Pastor Bob Fu, CBN News, January 2024.
Such an oppressive regime based on fear, punishment, and total control of human behavior would bring an abrupt end to a free way of life. The international community needs to stand up to this ideology that virtually enslaves humanity by using methods that might seem benign -- such as technology.
This year, so far, more than 24,200 Chinese citizens have entered the U.S. illegally across the southern border, plus more than 5,000 across the US northern border, for a total of more than 66,000 for 2023-24 so far. Even if just 1% of them are here to subvert America, that amounts to more than 660 potential saboteurs.
The totalitarian ideology of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) includes instilling and exploiting fear to create discipline and generally control every step its population takes.
For Communist China, America's 170 million TikTok users are the equivalent of having 170 million spy balloons. Meanwhile, cargo cranes from China with hidden listening devices are installed in US ports, and Huawei is an open line that could "disrupt US nuclear arsenal communications."
"All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near." — Sun Tzu, The Art of War, circa 5th century BCE.

The Chinese Communist Party seems to have been buying up America. On July 23, 2023, US Rep. Mile Collins (R-GA) said on the floor of the House of Representatives:

Responding to Hezbollah's Strategic Offensive
by Caroline Glick • June 17, 2024 at 4:00 am
Last Wednesday, Hezbollah launched more than 200 projectiles at Israel. On Thursday, more than 100 more continued and expanded the fires, destruction and mayhem.
Hezbollah's ultimate goal is that of its Iranian overlord: Israel's annihilation. But it has intermediate goals on the road to final victory. The first is to achieve operational control over northern Israel.
Under Hezbollah's control, Lebanon is not an actual country. It is Iran's forward military base against Israel that happens to have 5.5 million residents. The job of the residents is to deny that they live in an Iranian missile base.
Since Oct. 7, Israel has found itself in a major conventional war on seven fronts: Gaza, Lebanon, Judea and Samaria, the Red Sea, Iran and Iraq/Syria.
Israel's assumption of U.S. support has also taken a major hit. To be sure, Washington is willing to support Israel's efforts to defend itself from aggression along the seven fronts manned by Iran and its proxies. But it opposes Israeli offensive action and has worked actively to undermine Israel's ability to carry out prolonged offensive operations. Among other things, the United States refuses to share satellite and other intelligence related to offensive objectives, and is placing embargoes or slow walking the transfer of offensive munitions for Israel's ground and air forces.
Israel must end Hezbollah's reign of terror over northern Israel. It must degrade Hezbollah's military capacity to the point that Hezbollah is no longer able to strike Israel at will. To achieve this goal, Israel needs to take control over the Lebanese side of the border, destroy Hezbollah's forces south of the Litani River and then remain in place in Southern Lebanon for the foreseeable future.
Then-prime minister Ehud Barak's decision to surrender the security zone in Southern Lebanon to Hezbollah in May 2000 is the reason that the terror organization was able to build its forces to the point where it poses an existential threat to Israel's survival. By committing itself to reversing his move, Jerusalem will place itself on the road to victory.

Israel, Free World, in Increasing Danger Thanks to U.S. 'Help'

Hamas not only uses its civilians as human shields, but may be the first government in history that wants to see its own people killed in order to blame another country, Israel, for their deaths. Meanwhile, Israel goes out of its way – seriously risking the lives of its soldiers – not to commit any crimes against humanity or indiscriminately bomb, as Russia does in Ukraine.
"Israel implemented more measures to prevent civilian casualties than any nation in history," wrote John Spencer, chair of urban warfare studies at the Modern War Institute at West Point.
For decades, many of the countries of the Arab world have wanted to erase Israel from the map. Each time, they have failed. Their project consists of trying to destroy the Jewish state and kill every Jew, as Hamas' 1988 Charter requires. No one in a Western country could support it without being seen as an anti-Semite.
A radical change occurred, however, in 1964. The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) was founded and the myth of "Palestinian cause" invented. Zuheir Mohsen (زهير محسن) a leading PLO member responsible for Damur massacre, admitted:
"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese.
"Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva, and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan."
A "national liberation struggle" was, in fact, fabricated by Soviet Union's KGB, according to Ion Mihai Pacepa, who served from 1972-1978 as deputy chief of Romania's foreign intelligence service and advisor to Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. Pacepa said:
"The PLO and the Palestinian Narrative was dreamt up by the KGB, which had a penchant for 'liberation' organizations."
"First, the KGB destroyed the official records of Arafat's birth in Cairo, and replaced them with fictitious documents saying that he had been born in Jerusalem and was, therefore, a Palestinian by birth."
"According to [Soviet leader Yuri] Andropov, the Islamic world was a waiting petri dish in which we could nurture a virulent strain of America-hatred, grown from the bacterium of Marxist-Leninist thought. Islamic anti-Semitism ran deep... We had only to keep repeating our themes — that the United States and Israel were "fascist, imperial-Zionist countries" bankrolled by rich Jews."
Israel was no longer described as a small Jewish state besieged by much larger, powerful Arab countries filled with despicable intentions. Israel was suddenly presented as an "imperialist" power oppressing a small deprived people and supposedly having stolen their land. Anti-Israeli terrorist acts were presented as "resistance". The aim was to seduce the West; and quickly seduced it was.
An illusory "peace process" began. In reality, it was a war process. The PA areas became a base for bloody anti-Israeli attacks which did not diminish in intensity until a security barrier, begun in 2002, was mostly completed in 2007.
Called by Andrew Roberts "The Churchill of the Middle East," [Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu] evidently sees that Israel has no "partner for peace".
"Palestine" became a member of UNESCO in 2011, even as the Palestinian Authority continued supporting terrorism and is therefore a terrorist entity. This reward for terrorism marked the first time that a terrorist entity was granted a seat in an organization purporting to promote world peace.
So-called human rights organizations, as well as the media and so-called educational institutions, have been complicit.
American universities and colleges have received donations "that have no recorded nor reported dates of receipts" currently estimated at $22 billion. ["More than 50% of this has come from authoritarian and antidemocratic Middle East governments..."]
After these billions, in almost all universities in the US, the history of the Middle East is taught in accordance with the "Palestinian cause". No one says that this "cause" was invented in 1964.
The Biden administration rarely, if ever, criticizes the Palestinian Authority, nor Hamas and its sponsors Qatar and Iran.
The Biden administration also leaves aside that the Palestinian Authority -- which pays its people for life if they murder Jews – is still a terrorist entity, and instead treats it as if it were a legitimate interlocutor.
As the State of Palestine does not actually exist, deciding to "recognize" it will not bring it into being. On the contrary, the announcement will reinforce the belligerent actions of the Palestinian Authority and the leeriness of the Israelis. The Israelis clearly saw the Palestinians violate an official ceasefire on October 7; murder, rape, torture, kidnap and start an unprovoked war; then complain to the international community when the Israelis were inconsiderate enough to fight back.
The haste of Spain, Ireland and Norway can only lead Hamas leaders and their supporters to think that terrorism works and achieves results. Just wait until they try it again in Europe, especially after Iran has its nuclear bomb.
If Hamas manages to survive the current war – as its patrons, Qatar, Iran and the Biden administration apparently wish -- Hamas will be able to continue organizing terrorist acts. In fact, Hamas official Ghazi Hamad has vowed to do exactly that:...
Currently, despite pressures, betrayals and attempts at destabilization, Netanyahu stands firm and fights. He appears under no illusion about what will happen if Hamas, after the fighting is over, is allowed to continue as a terrorist threat.
Of course, Hamas, Qatar and Iran do not want to stop; they want to have the international community and America tell Israel to stop -- permanently -- and leave them free to continue their attacks.
Hamas is interested only in a "permanent ceasefire" by Israel, not a temporary pause. Why should they agree to a pause when they see the whole world attacking Israel? To them, everyone is roughing up Israel: it looks as if they are winning. Now the US is reportedly trying to cut a separate deal to release the five American hostages, leaving the other 120 hostages, and Israel, high and dry. Some believe that at least a third of them have been killed. That would be the ultimate triumph: having the US grant the aggressor, the terrorist group Hamas, a big reward for its massacre, to induce it to go to sleep before the November election.
As far as the Saudis are concerned, the last thing they want is a Palestinian state. They just cannot say so publicly.
For four years, Israel's enemies were largely powerless and silent. It would be so helpful for the Free World, the US, and even the indoctrinated, abysmally governed Palestinians, to have those policies back.
Pictured: Hamas terrorists let children play with their automatic rifles, in Gaza City, on June 14, 2021. (Photo by Mahmud Hams/AFP via Getty Images)
Last month, a video clip showing the capture of five female IDF soldiers by Hamas terrorists was released along with all the brutality of the terrorists, their intentions to rape and abuse these women, laid bare to see. Even so, the video is far less gruesome than other images of Hamas's murders, torture, rapes and innumerable acts of barbarity on October 7, 2023. Those show what Hamas really is.
Hamas did shock the Western world for a few weeks, but the West quickly forgot. Demonstrations in support of Hamas began the day after the massacres, October 8, before the victims' bodies were cold, and swept across the US, Australia and Europe. A wave of anti-Semitism not seen since World War II has accompanied the protests.
The attention of the mainstream media and Western politicians quickly turned from the slaughtered wounded and kidnapped Israelis to the Palestinian inhabitants of the Gaza Strip.

Europe Between Hope and Fear
by Amir Taheri • June 16, 2024 at 4:00 am
The federal tendency runs counter to the European political tradition based on national sovereignty. In fact, Western Europe, the heartland of the EU, is the birthplace of the very concept of the nation-state, built on the ruins of various empires, a model subsequently adopted by almost all other countries.
In the first mass rally against the success of the National Rally in the election, thousands of "progressive" militants gathered in the Place de la République to "defend French values". However, there was not a single French flag in sight. Instead, we had a forest of Palestinian flags with slogans against the EU leadership, US President Joe Biden, and, of course, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Thus the European Union is under attack from both the radical right and the ultra-left, while the center-left is shrinking and the center-right flirting with radical right groups.
European democracies face the danger that Hobbes warned against two centuries ago: the Leviathan, i.e. the state, being put to death with a thousand cuts. Political fragmentation, encouraged by the proportional representation system, creates scores of small but ultra-active groups wedded to niche ideas, not to say obsessions.
The latest EU election showed at least one thing: The EU is becoming increasingly unpopular. Under growing pressure from the fringes both of right and left, it is doubling down on some of the policies that occasioned its unpopularity.
The results of this month's European Parliament elections have prompted two reactions from political analysts in the old continent.
One reaction could be described as the ostrich option, burying one's head in the sand and praying that the storm will blow over. The other could be labeled apocalyptic, pointing at the four terrible horsemen riding across the horizon.
The ostrich party points out that despite the successes scored by radical right parties, the next European Parliament will still be dominated by right-of-center and social-democratic outfits stuck in the past and determined to maintain the status quo.
The apocalyptic analysts, however, warn of looming mayhem, some even claiming that fascism is coming back to Europe.
This month's election was the latest of a series that have pointed to some of the EU's structural problems without posing them as key issues in a broad debate about the future.

Amir Taheri: Europe Between Hope and Fear
Israel, Free World, in Increasing Danger Thanks to U.S. 'Help'
by Guy Millière • June 16, 2024 at 5:00 am

As US Is Being Encircled by Enemies, the US Administration Wants Israel to Surrender to Terrorists
by Majid Rafizadeh • June 15, 2024 at 5:00 am
While Russian warships, including a nuclear submarine, this week docked in Cuba, and with China building a major deep-water port in Peru that could serve the Chinese military, the US administration is pressuring only Israel to allow the Iran-backed terrorist group Hamas to win the war it launched against Israel on October 7.
Instead of supporting Israel's right to defend itself against coordinated and sustained attacks, the Biden administration's public wavering suggests a pro-terrorist shift in US policy away from Israel. This shift represents a betrayal that leaves Israel in the no-win position of either rejecting US proposals, or allowing Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis and other Iranian-backed terrorist groups to keep trying to advance their goal of ultimately destroying Israel.
When Iran itself, and not a terrorist proxy, launched an unprecedented missile and drone attack against Israel from Iranian soil on April 13, 2024, the assault was an act of war.
The result had been that Iran's proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon is now engaged in unremittingly raining down rockets, attack drones and guided missiles throughout Israel's north. The Biden administration might not even have asked the Iranian regime to order its other terrorist proxy Hezbollah to stop.
Asking Israel to do nothing against Hamas and Hezbollah after eight months of escalating aggression is akin to asking the United States, after the 9/11 attacks, to leave Al Qaeda untouched and allow it to remain in power.
Meanwhile, there has evidently been no pressure put on Qatar or Iran to lift a finger to stop the Gaza war. And Hamas official Ghazi Hamad disclosed last week that Egypt and Qatar have exerted no pressure on Hamas whatsoever to accept Biden's proposed ceasefire, and that media reports about threats to expel Hamas leaders from Qatar are false.
On one hand, the Biden administration keeps warning Israel against defending itself, while on the other, it keeps waiving sanctions, thereby providing the Iranian regime with billions of dollars that fund, arm, and sponsor terrorist organizations including Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Houthis -- all of which are committed to eradicating Israel.
Worse, this US largesse is enabling the Iranian regime to race toward completing its nuclear weapons program.
Israel is being advised to exercise restraint and not retaliate while facing escalating threats from the very enemies bolstered by the people asking them to exercise restraint.
The "ring of fire" strategy -- apparently expanded to the hostile axis of Russia, China and Iran -- is now coiling around the US, as well as installing potential fighters and saboteurs "inside the gates."
The financial resources that Iran gains from waived sanctions, and channels into furthering its agenda with Qatar, Hamas and Hezbollah, simply increase their ability to conduct aggressive actions against Israel and the US, destabilize the region -- and with its new Russian and Communist Chinese axis -- seriously jeopardize the Free World.

Palestinians' Heroes: Murderers, Rapists and Kidnappers of Babies
by Bassam Tawil • June 14, 2024 at 5:00 am
Support for Hamas also coincides with the Biden administration's and some European nations' ongoing promotion of creating a Palestinian state right next to Israel. This move would not only open the door for more atrocities against Israelis, but would also put Israel in grave danger because the Palestinian state, even under the supposedly watchful eye of a chaperone, would essentially be ruled by the same murderers and rapists who took part in the October 7 carnage.
These European nations — Ireland, Norway, and Spain — have sent a message to the Palestinians that the only way they can get international recognition for their state is by murdering Jews.
In a similar vein, the Biden administration has communicated to the Palestinians that the October 7 atrocities have heightened their likelihood of creating a terror state ruled by the Iranian regime and its Palestinian proxies, which would be used as a launchpad to murder more Jews and destroy Israel. This is evident in the administration's continued support for a "two-state solution."
Most Palestinians know what the Biden administration does not want to know: that the PA leadership cannot be trusted to implement any reforms or combat financial and administrative corruption.
In addition, 54% of Palestinians polled support an "armed struggle" against Israel, an 8-point rise from the previous poll three months ago.
The results of the poll also confirm what a Palestinian state would look like: it will be a terror state funded and armed by Qatar and Iran.
This tenacity is exactly why there is no substitute to destroying Hamas.
[Hamas official Ghazi] Hamad also said that Egypt and Qatar have exerted no pressure on Hamas whatsoever to accept Biden's proposed ceasefire, and that media reports about threats to expel Hamas leaders from Qatar are false.
Or is it possible that this is why they want Hamas to win? To see the Jews finally get their comeuppance for having had the gall not to accept their role as crushed victims after World War II, but instead to work hard and transform a land of malaria-infested swamps, sand dunes and deserts into a successful modern state?
"Israel should swiftly and decisively eliminate Muslim Brotherhood terrorist forces in Gaza." — Amjad Taha, political strategist and analyst from the United Arab Emirates, X, June 12, 2024.
More than eight months after Hamas's October 7 attack on Israel, most Palestinians continue to voice support for the atrocities committed by the Iran-backed terrorist group, including the murder, rape, beheading and burning of hundreds of Israelis. Support for Hamas also coincides with the Biden administration's and some European nations' ongoing promotion of creating a Palestinian state right next to Israel. More than eight months after Hamas's October 7 attack on Israel, most Palestinians continue to voice support for the atrocities committed by the Iran-backed terrorist group, including the murder, rape, beheading and burning of hundreds of Israelis.
This ongoing support for Hamas comes amid US-led efforts to end the current war in the Gaza Strip, a move that would effectively keep Hamas in power to prepare for its next massacre of Israelis.

Iran's Attempts to Attack Israel Must Be Confronted
by Con Coughlin • June 13, 2024 at 5:00 am
Netanyahu's resolve in the face of so many challenges, from splits in his own war cabinet over the conduct of the war in Gaza to incessant pressure from Washington to agree to a ceasefire, has prompted comparisons with British wartime leader Sir Winston Churchill, with Andrew Roberts labelling the Israeli PM "The Winston Churchill of the Middle East."
There is massive evidence that the Biden administration would like to see Netanyahu removed and that someone more "compliant" to the wishes of the US replace him – a new Israeli prime minister who would not object to Hamas continuing to rule the Gaza Strip after the fighting ends, and rebuild its military to be able to attack Israel again as it has vowed to do. The US would also doubtless like an Israeli prime minister would gladly accept a Palestinian state supervised by Qatar, which has a regrettable but endless track record of promoting and sponsoring terrorists. The Biden administration would apparently like an Israeli prime minister who would agree that a nuclear-armed Iran is exactly what the Middle East needs at this time, and, to that end, has been begging European officials not to object to Iran's nuclear program.
If the Israelis are smart, they will keep Netanyahu. He has shown time and again that he can stand up to immense pressure from whoever is trying to insert a knife in Israel's back – whether the Obama administration proposing an Iranian nuclear bomb in 2015, or Senator Chuck Schumer and President Joe Biden's unsubtle efforts to try to get him ousted.
Unfortunately, the only way of seeing all the hostages released is by military pressure.
To prevail against determined terrorist organisations like Hamas and Hezbollah, Israel and its allies need to rally support for Netanyahu, rather than constantly criticize him.
For only by defeating these deadly Iran-backed terrorist groups can there be any realistic chance of peace.
Netanyahu's resolve in the face of so many challenges, from splits in his own war cabinet over the conduct of the war in Gaza to incessant pressure from Washington to agree to a ceasefire, has prompted comparisons with British wartime leader Sir Winston Churchill. With Hamas facing the prospect of suffering a cataclysmic defeat in Gaza, the recent upsurge in attacks on northern Israel by Hezbollah, from Lebanon, suggests that Iran is determined to open a second military front to distract attention away from Hamas's dire plight, and to further the plan of its patron, Iran, to try to annihilate Israel.
Iran's support for Hamas was crucial to enabling the terrorist organisation to carry out its murderous assault against southern Israel on October 7. Apart from providing valuable intelligence on the Israel Defence Forces' (IDF) key positions along the Gazan border, Iran was the main provider of the weaponry used to conduct the atrocities.

Belgium's Extremely Alarming Antisemitism
by Alain Destexhe • June 12, 2024 at 5:00 am
What is striking about the survey is that, for every question, anti-Semitic prejudice is much higher in Brussels than at national level. It happens that the population of the capital of Belgium and the EU is between 30% and 40% Muslim.
In the country as a whole, 43% of Muslims think that Belgian Jews are not really Belgians like the other inhabitants of Belgium.
These figures are staggering. Many other signals testify to the sad reality that Jews are no longer safe in Brussels.
The compulsory Holocaust curriculum has not been taught in most Brussels schools for a long time now; teachers are afraid to broach the subject in classes where the majority of the pupils are Muslim.
The rise in anti-Semitism, appears, in fact, to coincide with the growth in Muslim immigration, which accelerated from 2000 onwards. The political world behaved as if they were the three monkeys: did not see, did not hear, did not speak. At Holocaust commemorations, the authorities repeat with their hands over their hearts that anti-Semitism has no place in Belgium, while passively witnessing its rise without ever acknowledging it.
The Muslim vote has become essential to the success of the left-wing parties, whose electoral weight in Brussels, as a result of immigration, has risen in 20 years, from 34% to 54%. Compared to the now hundreds of thousands of Muslim votes, those of the 30,000 Jews in Belgium, a genuine minority, do not carry much weight. Over the past 20 years, some of us have tried in vain to draw attention to this serious trend, which neither the media nor the political world has been willing to see.
The fate of Belgian Jews seems to be sealed. These testimonies are worth every analysis. Belgium is gradually becoming free of Jews -- Judenrein -- while joyfully and conscientiously celebrating the high mass of a highly racist multiculturalism.
Pictured: An Orthodox Jewish man walks past army trucks stationed in a Jewish neighborhood of Antwerp, on November 20, 2015. (Photo by Luc Claessen AFP via Getty Images)
A recent survey has attempted to quantify what Belgians feel towards Jews, a small minority representing 0.3% of the country's population.
According to an IPSOS poll, 14% of Belgians express an aversion to Jews, twice as many as the French. This figure rises to 22% in Brussels, the capital, which is also the capital of European Union, where 11% of the population have sympathy for Hamas.
We suspected that anti-Semitism was widespread in Belgium, but this survey provides further confirmation, showing that the public attitude towards Jews has deteriorated even further since October 7, 2023. An increase in anti-Semitic acts has been denounced by Belgium's League against Anti-Semitism.
What is striking about the survey is that, for every question, anti-Semitic prejudice is much higher in Brussels than at national level. It happens that the population of the capital of Belgium and the EU is between 30% and 40% Muslim.

Palestinianism Began with Nazism And Today Is Based on Antisemitism, Sexism, Homophobia and Denial of Human Rights. So Why Is the Left So in Love with It?
by Alan M. Dershowitz • June 9, 2024 at 5:00 am
It was [Hitler's friend, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-] Husseini who turned the Arab-Jewish dispute from a resolvable conflict over land to an irresolvable conflict over religion.
Were a Hamas-run state to replace Israel "from the river to the sea", it would be a theocratic regime closer to that of Iran than to the autocracies of Jordan or Egypt. Jews and Christians would not be allowed to live as equal citizens in such a state. Indeed, in areas currently controlled by Hamas, Christians and other non-Muslim minorities have been ethnically cleansed.
Hamas is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Iranian mullahs....
The real focus of these demonstrations is not on the alleged victims, but rather on the alleged perpetrators. The perpetrators are actually more anti-Israel than pro-Palestinian... It has always been more about identifying with the alleged perpetrators -- Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Castro, Che Guevara -- than with the alleged victims.
It is Hamas, not Israel, that is responsible for much, if not all, of the victimization of Palestinian civilians.
The disproportionate focus on the Palestinians and Israel can be explained only by bigoted hatred of the nation state of the Jewish people and its alliance with the US, and the wish to see them brought down.
The founder of the Palestinian movement in the run-up to the Second World War was a proud Nazi and friend of Adolf Hitler. It was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, who turned the Arab-Jewish dispute from a resolvable conflict over land to an irresolvable conflict over religion. Pictured: Hitler meets with Husseini on November 28, 1941. (Image source: German Federal Archive)
The founder of the Palestinian movement in the run-up to the Second World War was a proud Nazi and friend of Adolf Hitler. Haj Amin al-Husseini was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, the religious leader of the Muslims in what is now Israel but was then called Palestine, and, after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, governed under a British Mandate. It was Husseini who turned the Arab-Jewish dispute from a resolvable conflict over land to an irresolvable conflict over religion.
Husseini decided it was against Islamic sharia law to allow Jewish sovereignty over even an inch of what had previously been Ottoman territory, which he decreed was forever religious Muslim land, part of an endowment, or "waqf," to be held in trust for Allah. He opposed the creation of any Jewish state, regardless of how small, even if it was part of a two-state solution that offered a far larger percentage of the land to a state for the Palestinians.

The West Keeps Rewarding the Terrorist Group Hamas
by Majid Rafizadeh • June 8, 2024 at 5:00 am
Spain, Ireland and Norway recently formally recognized Palestinian statehood.... It is unprecedented in world history for a terrorist group to attack another country, murder its people and take hostages, only to then be rewarded with a recognition of statehood – cordially facilitating its future actions, including against countries in Europe.
We have already seen this April "thousands of protestors" in Germany demanding a Caliphate with sharia law.
The West's reward also sends a message that... the West will eagerly accept any antisocial behavior rather than stand up for the values of civilization that have defined it for centuries.
The aim of anti-Israel protestors seems to be that stability can only be achieved after everyone has conceded to the terrorists' demands. Sadly, many politicians, perhaps hoping for votes from wherever they can get them, might be only too happy to comply.
Perhaps Ireland, Norway and Spain would like to offer sanctuary to Gazans from Hamas?
[The] intended beneficiaries of ...[Israel's] enormous sacrifice, have instead been undermining and demonizing Israel every step of the way, especially its fearless Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, called by Andrew Roberts "The Churchill of the Middle East," who now finds himself, courtesy of the unlawful International Criminal Court, with an international warrant out for his arrest.
The only reason countries are recognizing a Palestinian is that they will not have to live next to it. As Harvard law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz and former New York City Council president Andrew Stein recently pointed out:
"Consider the fact that no Arab or Muslim nation has been willing to accept Palestinian refugees from Gaza. Perhaps these nations recall that anyone who has tried to help the Palestinians has lived to regret it. When Jordan took them in, the Palestinians tried to overthrow the government of King Hussein in 1970. The attempted coup, known as Black September, ended with the Palestinians being expelled to Lebanon. Once there, a civil war erupted between the Muslims, backed by the PLO, and the Christians, resulting in the PLO being expelled once again, this time to Tunisia in 1982. After Kuwait offered roughly 400,000 Palestinians visas and jobs, and Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990,the PLO sided with Iraq. After the liberation of Kuwait, an estimated 200,000 were expelled and another 200,000 were not allowed back."
The more countries that will join Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas in its assault by recognizing a Palestinian state, the more power and influence they will have in Europe to double their demands. Wait until Iran has its nuclear bombs and the ballistic missiles to deliver them. They will not even have to use them, only threaten to, as Putin is now doing in Ukraine so that US President Joe Biden will prevent Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from winning.
Such actions jeopardize stability not only in the Middle East but even more in Europe. Ireland, Norway and Spain seem to be under the illusion that if they pet the kitty, the kitty will like them. Unfortunately, that is not always the way kitties work. All that cuddling up to terrorists and their promotors really achieves is to weaken the West's credibility in defending its values, and the way of life we naïvely take for granted in the West.

It is astonishing and difficult to comprehend how, after the terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, the West has progressively adopted policies that support the terrorist organization Hamas and its influential backers, Qatar and Iran.
This policy is particularly perplexing given the violent nature of the attack and the well-documented connections, especially between Hamas and the Iranian regime, which has been a significant supporter of Hamas both financially and militarily. The West's stance also raises questions about the strategic and ethical considerations behind such policies, considering the implications for regional stability and the ongoing threat posed by these groups.

Understanding who we are today as Americans living in a democracy -- because of the sacrifices of those we honor on June 6th -- is a solemn responsibility for every American. Understanding who we are today as Americans living in a democracy -- because of the sacrifices of those we honor on June 6th -- is a solemn responsibility for every American. Yet few will acknowledge the date or the solemn obligation.
On that date, June 6, 1944, more than 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline, confronting Nazi troops that had conquered much of Europe. General Dwight D. Eisenhower commanded the invasion, reminding his troops, "We will accept nothing less than full victory."
More than 5,000 Ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion, and by day's end, the Allies had begun to push the Germans back, but some 10,000 Allied soldiers were killed or wounded that day.
Pinned down for hours by German fire, brave Allied soldiers recognized what was at stake: literally the liberation of a continent. Confronting unimaginable obstacles, they found the means to push the enemy back, climb the heights overlooking at the beaches, destroy the bunkers that contained heavy cannons and begin the task of defeating the Nazi Third Reich.
Having walked the Normandy beaches with my wife a number of years ago, we were struck by the serenity of its current condition as we quietly reflected on the carnage and courage that was on this same stretch of beach the morning of June 6th, 1944. We would offer silent prayers to the thousands who fell there that day and those now buried not far from where they died.
To their credit, the French have never lost sight of what occurred there. They continue to honor those interred just behind the beaches with a daily flag ceremony at the cemetery that leaves the visitor choked with emotion.
Yet too many Americans will mark June 6th as just another day on the calendar. We have no reason to blame them, however, for our society has not instilled within them an appreciation of our nation's history, the sacrifice of those who have worn the uniform, or the fact that on one dreary morning in June 1944, the world held its breath. It was fate and the indomitable courage of young Americans who determined whether our world would be plunged forever into darkness or be offered the ability to rekindle the spark of freedom.

Israel Is Helping Palestinians More Than Those Who Condemn Israel
by Alan M. Dershowitz and Andrew Stein • June 5, 2024 at 5:00 am
Consider the fact that no Arab or Muslim nation has been willing to accept Palestinian refugees from Gaza. Perhaps these nations recall that anyone who has tried to help the Palestinians has lived to regret it.
Perhaps Ireland, Norway and Spain might extend invitations to the Palestinians to become residents there?
On April 13, more than 1,000 demonstrators marched through the streets of Hamburg, Germany and demanded that the country become a Caliphate, with Shariah law.
The only reason that Ireland, Norway and Spain can safely recognize a Palestinian state is that they do not have to live with the consequences.
Many [Arab and Muslim states]... might feel obligated officially to support the Palestinians and a "two-state solution," but behind closed doors will admit that a Palestinian state is the last thing they want....
The truth is that few outside of Israel really care about the plight of the Palestinian people. The demonstrations on college campuses which purport to be "pro-Palestine" are far more about condemning Israel than about helping the Palestinians.
Those who claim to support the Palestinians... ought to be urging Arab and Muslim nations to help the Palestinians in material ways.
Until that is done, all the Palestinian people will get are hollow demonstrations on university campuses, empty recognitions from anti-Israel governments, irrelevant United Nations resolutions and bigoted demonization of Israel. None of this helps the Palestinian people. It only encourages more hatred, more terrorism and more war.
Pictured: A truck carrying humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip crosses the Kerem Shalom border crossing between Israel and Gaza, on May 30, 2024. (Photo by Jack Guez/AFP via Getty Images)
Israel has long been the primary supporter of the Palestinian people, both on the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip. Israelis have opened their borders to Palestinian workers, to whom they pay high wages. They have accepted Palestinian patients, including even terrorists, into their excellent hospitals. Some of the Israeli kibbutz residents who helped Gazans were murdered by them on October 7. Even during the current Gaza war, Israel has provided more food, medicine and humanitarian aid to Palestinians than any country has ever done during wartime.
What have other countries done? Very little. Norway, Ireland and Spain, on May 28, "formally recognized a Palestinian state." How does that help the Palestinian people? It doesn't. Indeed, it hurts them by raising unrealistic expectations. The only way a Palestinian state will exist is through hard compromises and the difficult direct negotiations to which the Palestinians agreed in the 1993-1995 Oslo Accords.

Who Is Funding the Pro-Hamas Protests; Are They Aiming to Take Down America?
by Robert Williams • June 4, 2024 at 5:00 am
Rather more jarring is that the Biden administration, and therefore taxpayer money, is also funding the protests, through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
"U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Vice Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference and Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee... discussed oversight findings from the EPW Committee that revealed a $50 million grant was awarded from the EPA through the Democrats' Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to 'Climate Justice Alliance,' a group that engages in pro-Hamas, anti-Israel, and anti-Semitic activities." — US Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, May 21, 2024.
"[We] went to the website of Climate Justice Alliance. This is what we found on the website that our taxpayer dollars are going to organizations such as this. This, at the bottom, is a picture of the bulldozer that went through the fence when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7." — Senator Shelley Moore Capito, May 21, 2024.
The People's Forum's executive director Manolo De Los Santos called for the complete destruction of the United States at the conference to great applause: "We have to bring down this empire with one million cuts, and those one million cuts have to come from every sector of struggle in this room."
Terrorists and their billionaire, as well as less-affluent supporters, are actively conspiring to destroy the US with the backing of foreign powers -- and very little, if anything, is being done to stop it.
The Biden administration, and therefore taxpayer money, is funding pro-Hamas, anti-Israeli protests on US campuses, through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Pictured: The EPA building in Washington, DC. (Photo by Mark Wilson/Getty Images)
The answers to the question of who is funding the groups behind the pro-Hamas, anti-Israeli protests on US campuses, continue to grow in complexity. It appears that a multitude of donors are falling over each other to help promote the cause of the officially designated terrorist group, Hamas – whose openly stated aim is the destruction of Israel and the Jews -- to impressionable young students and the public at large.

Iran: The Turban and the Military Cap
by Amir Taheri • June 2, 2024 at 4:00 am
More importantly, Raisi, hailing from the second generation of Islamic revolutionaries, assumed his lack of charisma almost with pride and missed no opportunity to pay homage to the "Supreme Guide" as a gift to mankind.
[T]he "Supreme Guide" may wish to go for a turban rather than a military cap.
To make this look like a regular election, Khamenei needs the participation of the so-called "reformist" faction. However, prominent members of the faction may prefer to wait for a better occasion, presumably after Khamenei has entered history.
The most likely scenario is to field four candidates, a mullah, a military officer, a technocrat, and a "reformist," in the hope of attracting at least half of those eligible to vote to go to the polls. The election that propelled Raisi into the presidency failed to do that. In fact, Raisi ended up elected by just over 35 percent of those eligible to vote.
Pictured: Iranian presidential candidate Saeed Jalili registers his candidacy at the interior ministry in Tehran, May 30, 2024. (Photo by AFP via Getty Images)
While conspiracy theorists offer endless versions of the theory that Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi's sudden death in a helicopter crash was planned by Tehran's "deep state," a more realistic approach might show that it has, in fact, created a problem that may not be so easy to solve.
From "Supreme Guide" Ali Khamenei's view, Raisi, as we noted in another column, was the ideal choice. He was the only president of the Islamic Republic to have led the judiciary, one of three pillars of the state. He had also been a member of the Assembly of Experts, which has the task of choosing a successor to the "Supreme Guide". Raisi was also a cleric, but not too highly placed in the religious hierarchy to put the "Supreme Guide" in the shade.
More importantly, Raisi, hailing from the second generation of Islamic revolutionaries, assumed his lack of charisma almost with pride and missed no opportunity to pay homage to the "Supreme Guide" as a gift to mankind.

The people of Israel are peace-loving. They do not eagerly seek to join battles, they do not desire to destroy and kill. Even so, they once again find themselves forced to defend their homeland, their faith, and their right to live in peace. Perturbingly, they are besieged by those who deny their right to exist. Terrorist organizations, such as Hamas and ISIS, in contrast, appear to be driven by aggression, at times even a lust for violence, believed by many to be divinely sanctioned.
At this time, however, Israelis seem to be alone in their task, and continually faced with obstacles their so-called allies place in the way of swift victory.
Apart from constantly negotiating the complex and vacillating policies of the current US administration, Israel's efforts to fight on behalf of Western values are being seriously hampered by possibly well-meaning but naive politicians such as the leaders of Ireland, Norway, China and Spain, all of which last month recognized Palestinian State with no borders and governed by genocidal terrorists
Is Spain really ready to recognize an independent state of Catlonia?
Ireland, even at the height of its "Troubles" never suggested ridding its neighbour of the Scots, the British and the Welsh, and replacing them with Irish Catholics. Since October 7, racism in Ireland since has reportedly become exponentially worse.
Is China really about to officially recognize the independence of Taiwan, Hong Kong, Tibet or the Uyghurs?
The defenders of Israel are courageously overcoming challenges to their nation, their land and their faith. Israel is the only country in that part of the world embodying the institutions of democracy, individual freedom and human rights. Israel, like Ukraine and Taiwan, is worth fighting for. The citizens of Israel are sacrificing their lives so that we will not have to. The least we can do is get out of the way and be of help. They are heroes. They deserve our gratitude and support.
At this time of war in northern Europe and the Middle East, with global escalation looming once again, it is heartening to recall the brave spirit of those who fought for our country and confronted malevolent actors aiming to overwhelm the values of individual freedom in West and the extravagance of peace.
The current era seems typified more by narcissism and relativistic moral-ethics than by courage or protecting the nation. It is a period in which many members of society seek a superficial identity through ethnic or political promotors while disparaging bigger issues of patriotism and the obligation to protect the nation. Many ideologues belittle the traditional concept of a family where one can thrive; for some, even home is no longer regarded as a fundamental necessity.
Throughout civilization, the heart of society has come from the family unit, with its home and heart -- a haven where members can enjoy love, warmth and comfort. It is a sanctuary. "We do not seek to defend Christianity in any religious sense but as a traditional way of life, as a traditional sense of home," noted Alexander Gauland, leader of Germany's much criticised political party, Alternative für Deutschland.
The idea of a home is pivotal to everyone. For the Jewish people, it is their common faith and the ideal of a home that has enabled them, although often scattered among alien cultures, to maintain their identity and heritage, individually and as a group. That is why the concept of Zion never perished through the many years of diaspora. The cry of "Next year in Jerusalem" (L'Shana Haba'ah B'Yerushalayim) has for centuries been engraved in Jewish hearts.
In a sense, the concept of home is a form of nationalism for which deep allegiance is required. The people of Israel well understand the necessity of this ideal of a home and refer to it as Zionism, which is simply an attempt to establish a home of their own in a hostile world.
The wish to secure a way iof life based on ling-standing Judeo-Christian values especially applies to the visionary founders and leaders of the State of Israel, including, among other notables, Theodor Herzl, David Ben-Gurion, Golda Meir, Menachem Begin and Benjamin Netanyahu, called by Andrew Roberts "The Churchill of the Middle East," These are all great men and women who, despite intense criticism, never wavered from their vision for the peace and security of their beloved homeland.
Despite often misplaced global outrage they motivated their people to defend all that is theirs not only for themselves but for future generations,
The people of Israel are peace-loving.
Notwithstanding immense peril to themselves personally, and their unprecedented commitment not to endanger anyone's life unnecessarily, Israeli soldiers defend not only their ancestral place but also the core freedoms and the right to a home that frames Western civilization itself. At this time, however, Israelis seem to be alone in their task, and continually faced with obstacles their so-called allies place in the way of swift victory.
Apart from constantly negotiating the complex and vacillating policies of the current US administration, Israel's efforts to fight on behalf of Western values are being seriously hampered by possibly well-meaning but naive politicians such as the leaders of Ireland, Norway, China and Spain, all of which recognized Palestinian State with no borders and governed by genocidal terrorists.
China, Ireland and Spain all have a long history of racist attitudes, and Norway, despite impressive resistance in World War II, sent its Jews to Auschwitz.
China has tried to exterminate the Tibetans, has persecuted Buddhists, Muslims, and Christians, and is currently undertaking a "Uyghur genocide."
Spain, of course, home of the Inquisition, expelled all Jews in 1492. In the 1937 Spanish Civil War, General Francisco Franco "built his regime vilifying the Jews and then tried to cover it up." Even a decade ago, Spain was called "The Most Anti-semitic Country in Europe." Since October 7, Spain has seen a "truly terrifying rise in Jew-hate." Not Israelis, Jews.
These duplicitous nations, along with Qatar -- called the "Trojan Horse in Washington D.C.," and which is still the main sponsor, protector and megaphone of Islamist terrorism – say they will recognize a state that will inevitably become a terrorist haven, again threatening Israel's rights to its ancestral homeland. Hamas has vowed as much, in the words of a headline from MEMRI:
"Hamas Official Ghazi Hamad: We Will Repeat The October 7 Attack, Time And Again, Until Israel Is Annihilated; We Are Victims – Everything We Do Is Justified"
Even as adverse political moves are made against Israel by various Western nations, Israel has also been facing illegitimate prosecutions by the UN and its agencies. While the United Nations organization itself, and its many agencies, have a history of bigotry against Israel, the International Court of Justice exceeds its purview by having no mandate to legitimately adjudicate charges brought by South Africa against Israel. To add insult to injury, ill-founded Warrants of Arrest have been issued against Israel's Prime Minister and Minister of Defence by the International Criminal Court (here and here).
As clouds of war are again emerging over the globe, Iran is seeking to become the dominant power in the Middle East, and advancing its nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles program.
In Eastern Europe, Russia, having seized part of Georgia in 2008 and all of Crimea in 2014, appears poised to take as much of Ukraine as it can. Russia -- with the assistance of China, North Korea, and Iran --will likely carry on from there, trying to extend its influence by force. China, meanwhile, is not only circling Taiwan and the Philippines, but also strategically positioning itself to confront Japan, Australia, India and other targets in the Indo-Pacific.
In the US, more than 10 million illegal immigrants have entered in the last few years, including an estimated 1.7 "gotaways," who evaded detection and about whom nothing is known. Among those who have entered illegally are roughly 40,000 Chinese, many of whom arrive in groups of young men of military age as potential saboteurs. Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has suggested that China's Communist Party is "inside the gates," surreptitiously awaiting orders from Beijing. Further evidence was discovered in a Chinese-run laboratory by accident last year in Reedley, California. More than a thousand mice had been genetically engineered with deadly pathogens, potentially to be released as tiny bioweapons across the US. In addition, China has been buying more than 340,000 acres f US farmland, often near military installations, and sent a spy balloon over America's most "sensitive military sites." China has also stolen untold quantities of sensitive US intellectual property, to the detriment of the West's technological superiority.
In the crucial battle for global leadership, the stakes could not be higher. In Germany this April, more than 1,000 demonstrators called for a Caliphate under sharia law.
There can be only one winner.
"We win, they lose," former US President Ronald Reagan stated. This needs to be the attitude of the West if it wishes to succeed against the malevolent global actors seeking its downfall. Yet, the US and many allied nations are facing internal social conflicts in addition to external threats. Smaller nations such as Israel, Ukraine Taiwan, the Philippines, the "canaries in the coalmine," depend upon the support of the larger Western powers if Western powers do not wish to fall.

They do not eagerly seek to join battles, they do not desire to destroy and kill. Terrorist organizations, such as Hamas and ISIS, in contrast, appear to be driven by aggression, at times even a lust for violence, believed by many to be divinely sanctioned.

Release the Hostages

In the nearly eight months since Hamas, backed by Iran, attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, there has been some controversy, out of respect for the feelings of the victims' families, about whether or not to publish images of the atrocities committed that day.
General Dwight D. Eisenhower, after the liberation of Europe's concentration camps in 1945, was quoted as saying:
"You saw only one camp yesterday. There are many others. Your responsibilities, I believe, extend into a great field, and informing the people at home of things like these atrocities is one of them... Nothing is covered up. We have nothing to conceal. The barbarous treatment these people received in the German concentration camps is almost unbelievable. I want you to see for yourself and be spokesmen for the United States."
