Bridle Your Tongue

If any man among you seem to be religious, and does not bridle his own tongue, he deceives his own heart.This man's religion is vain. James 1:26

OUCH !! I don't like verses that remind me of my own imperfections. However, The remind us that we all need a Savior. Not any savior,,,,,,,,,,,, But Our Savior Jesus Christ. Only as we allow God to control our thoughts and ask Him to guard our words can the tongue be tamed. What is impossible to me is possible through Christ's inswelling Spirit. A tongue problem is dorectly related to a heart problem, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Ask God to renew your heart and your mind with His word and by His Spirit and you will receive a new vocabulary.

This brings another thought to mind. When we constantly put ourselves down, We are telling ourselves God made a mistake when He created us like we are. The word tells us we were known by God before time began. He created us exactly the way He wanted us. When we sin, and we all know All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God,and ask for forgivness, God tells us We are forgiven. If we continue to live depressed... looking back,,,,,, we have not forgiven ourselves. We have not bridled our own tongue.
