The late Pope Benedict XVI:
It has been disappointing to see some responses by so-called Evangelical Christians to the death of this man - suggesting (quite incorrectly) that he was a 'brother-in-Christ'.
He was a staunch defender of the Roman Catholic faith but not "the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 3).

The death of anyone is always a matter of great sorrow, but sentimentality must not over-ride biblical truth and in consequence, in no way was this late Pope a true brother-in-Christ.
