Support the Bill to STOP councils from boycotting Israel
We're pleased to inform you that the UK Government’s Bill to ban councils and other public bodies from participating in boycotts of Israel was tabled in the House of Commons on 19th June. The Second Reading of the Bill, when a vote will be taken, will take place on 3rd July.

With just one week to go, please email your MP (if you live in the UK), asking them to support the Bill.

Why is this Bill needed?
Currently, your local council is able to pass anti-Israel legislation that undermines UK foreign policy and more importantly without your say.

BDS demonises and delegitimises Israel by reusing a tactic made famous in the historic global campaign to rid South Africa of its racist apartheid regime. An initial effort to do this via secondary legislation and guidance was thwarted by a Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) court case, leaving the government no alternative but to pursue primary legislation.

The current government promised after the last election to legislate to ban boycotts by local authorities as soon as parliamentary time allowed. We need your help to get this important piece of legislation over the line.
