We are living during the greatest debt bubble in the history of the world.
According to the International Monetary Fund, global debt has grown to a staggering grand total of 152 trillion dollars.
Other estimates put that figure closer to 200 trillion dollars, but for the purposes of this article let's use the more conservative number.
If you take 152 trillion dollars and divide it by the seven billion people living on the planet, you get $21,714, which would be the share of that debt for every man, woman and child in the world if it was divided up equally.
So if you have a family of four, your family's share of the global debt load would be $86,856.
Very few families could write a check for that amount today, and we also must remember that we live in some of the wealthiest areas on the globe.
Considering the fact that more than 3 billion people around the world live on two dollars a day or less, the truth is that about half the planet would not be capable of contributing toward the repayment of our 152 trillion dollar debt at all.
So they should probably be excluded from these calculations entirely, and that would mean that your family's share of the debt would ultimately be far, far higher.

Hezbollah or "the Party of God" is based in southern Lebanon and has long served as Iran's way of Islamizing a formerly Christian country while also stoking the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and periodically launching rockets into northern Israel.
But the organization has other enemies besides Israel and should not be viewed within the narrow scope of the Arab-Israel conflict.

Iran Closing In On Israel - Deal With Syria Could See New Military Base
Iran is looking for payback for it's assistance in Syria and that means bad news for Israel.
Iran is on the verge of reaching a deal with the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad to build a military base at the port of Latakia on the Mediterranean coast, an Israeli diplomatic official told the Hebrew news site Walla on Friday.
According to the report, this would be Assad's way of paying Iran back for the extensive military and financial support it has provided to the Assad regime since the outbreak of the ongoing war in Syria six years ago.
The Jewish state, the report said, views the establishment of an Iranian military presence on the Mediterranean Sea as an "extreme step" that would "foster instability in the region and promote terrorism against Israel."
Among other things, according to Walla, it would bolster Iran-backed Hezbollah and increase the threat to the Israeli home front. Latakia is located less than 200 miles up the coast from Israel's northern port of Haifa.
After his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement, "I made it clear that regarding Syria, while Israel is not opposed that there should be an agreement there, we strongly oppose the possibility that Iran and its proxies will be left with a military presence in Syria under such an agreement.

In 1997, Danish public service radio financed an artist burning a Bible and broadcast it on national television. No one was charged, even though there were complaints and the state prosecutor investigated the case.

March 25th marks the 60th anniversary of the European Union and is expected to jump start public debate on the future of the continent.
The European Commission has published a document outlining five scenarios for how the European Union could evolve within the next ten years.
The so-called White Paper on the Future of Europe, which will be presented at the Rome Summit on March 25, 2017 to mark the 60th anniversary of the European Union, is intended to be "the starting point for a wider public debate on the future of our continent."
Each of the five scenarios is based on the premise that "the 27 Member States move forward together as a Union."
The document does not consider the possibility that the EU could collapse or break apart, or even that the powers of the EU be significantly curtailed. The document states:

The preliminary report reveals that the government has nothing to show for the tens of millions of taxpayer euros it has spent over the past several years to combat Islamic radicalization in France, where 238 people have been killed in jihadist attacks since January 2015.
The report implies that deradicalization, either in specialized centers or in prisons, does not work because most Islamic radicals do not want to be deradicalized.

LGTB Affirming Churches Add Glitter To Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday is the latest event to be hijacked by LGTB supporters in the church.

The appointment of U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) as deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has left some Jewish Democrats worried about their party's future positions on Israel.
Former Secretary of Labor Tom Perez defeated Ellison for the party chairmanship Saturday in a 235-200 vote. In his first act as chairman, Perez named Ellison to the post of deputy chairman.
There has never previously been a deputy chair of the DNC; the position was created specially for Ellison.
The DNC has not yet explained what his duties will be, although it seems he will have greater authority than the five elected vice chairs of the party.
During the months leading up to the vote, Ellison faced criticism for organizing congressional letters urging pressure on Israel and accusing the Jewish state of controlling U.S. foreign policy, as well as for his past involvement with Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam movement.
"I'm just happy that Perez defeated Ellison, but concerned that it was close," Rabbi Menachem Genack, a prominent Jewish supporter of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, told JNS.org.

Americans Divided Over Establishment Of Palestinian State
Democrats and Republicans, old and young show sharp divide over Palestinian State
Although an increasing number of Americans oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state, a new Gallup poll shows the U.S. public is divided over that issue.

Currently, 45 percent of Americans say they support the creation of an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza, and 42 percent are opposed to it, the latter figure representing a 5-percent increase from last year.

According to the survey, a large portion of the American public supports and views Israel favorably.
Of the Americans polled, 71 percent said they support Israel and 27 percent expressed an opposing view.
This was the fourth consecutive year in which support for Israel in the Gallup poll remained above the 70-percent mark.
The low point in American public support for Israelat 49 percentcame in the 1989 Gallup survey. The high point came just two years later, in 1991, when support reached 79 percent.
In the realm of political affiliation, Republicans expressed 81 percent support for Israel in the new poll, while 61 percent of Democrats said they support the Jewish state.

Google's Artificial Intelligence Getting "Greedy," And "Aggressive"
Will artificial intelligence get more aggressive and selfish the more intelligent it becomes?
A new report out of Google's DeepMind AI division suggests this is possible based on the outcome of millions of video game sessions it monitored.
The results of the two games indicate that as artificial intelligence becomes more complex, it is more likely to take extreme measures to ensure victory, including sabotage and greed.
The first game, Gathering, is a simple one that involves gathering digital fruit. Two DeepMind AI agents were pitted against each other after being trained in the ways of deep reinforcement learning.
After 40 million turns, the researchers began to notice something curious.

Everything was OK as long as there were enough apples, but when scarcity set in, the agents used their laser beams to knock each other out and seize all the apples.
The aggression, they determined, was the result of higher levels of complexity in the AI agents themselves. When they tested the game on less intelligent AI agents, they found that the laser beams were left unused and equal amounts of apples were gathered.
The simpler AIs seemed to naturally gravitate toward peaceful coexistence.
Researchers believe the more advanced AI agents learn from their environment and figure out how to use available resources to manipulate their situation -- and they do it aggressively if they need to.
"This model ... shows that some aspects of human-like behaviour emerge as a product of the environment and learning," a DeepMind team member, Joel Z Leibo, told Wired.

Anti-Israel Divestment Campaigns Kick Off On Campuses Across The US
Student groups across the US are renewing their efforts to pass anti-Israel divestment resolutions and prepare for Israeli Apartheid Week.
Following a defeat two years ago, a coalition of student groups at Ohio State University (OSU) -- under the auspices of "OSU Divest: Buckeyes for Human Rights" -- is seeking to put the issue to a vote in the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) in the spring.

The OSU Divest measure calls on the student government to "cease and/or prohibit any investments in G4S, Caterpillar, CoreCivic, The GEO Group and Hewlett Packard Enterprise until they are no longer engaged in the violation of human rights of Palestinians and other practices deemed unethical by the Buckeye community."

The group is currently attempting to gather the 1,895 signatures needed from the student body to secure the measure on the USG ballot, the campus newspaper The Lantern reported.
At the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, groups such as the campus chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), are pushing to place an anti-Israel bill on the Student Government (SG) ballot next month. The measure demands that the USF Foundation divest from "companies complicit in human rights violations in Palestine and Yemen."
According to campus newspaper The Oracle, a similar divestment measure that only singled out Israel for condemnation was shot down last spring by the SG Supreme Court after it was deemed unconstitutional.

Trump And The Third Temple
Jewish leaders, including the re-convened Sanhedrin, are looking for President Trump to play a role in rebuilding the Jewish Temple
The Jewish Temple Mount movement are excited over the recent election of Donald Trump. They know very well that rebuilding the Jewish temple in today's world would be a dangerous and politically incorrect task.

In their view, if there is any modern political leader with the guts and determination to stand behind such a project, it could be President Trump.

Biblically, many Christians affirm that the Jewish temple will be rebuilt at some point in the End Times.

Could President Trump's strong pro-Israel stand be the game changer which could help lay the groundwork? What role would President Putin play in the mix?

The Cyrus Mandate

A number of Christian leaders have been comparing Trump to the Biblical King Cyrus. They point out that King Cyrus was a leader called and appointed by God.

Despite the fact that this Persian King did not know the God of Israel, God appointed him by name with the mandate to fulfil God's divine purposes concerning the nation of Israel.

President Trump, like King Cyrus, appears an unlikely champion for God's purposes. Despite the controversies swirling around him, Trump has though already taken action to re-align America with important Biblical values (such as pro-life) as well as making an unusually firm stand alongside the nation of Israel.

While several Christian bible teachers have pointed out similarities with Cyrus, few have raised the point that a primary part of Cyrus' divine calling was to order the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem (Isaiah 44:28, Ezra 1:2).

If President Trump really has a similar calling to King Cyrus, could it be that God would use this real estate developer turned President to facilitate the greatest property development of modern time - the rebuilding of the Temple?

A Letter from the Sanhedrin

Key figures in Israel's Temple Mount movement certainly are optimistic that Trump's victory could be the catalyst needed to bring their dream to reality.

Within days of the election victory, long time Temple Mount advocate and now prominent member of the Israeli Knesset Rabbi Yehudah Glick, issued a public call inviting Trump to visit the Temple Mount.

This call was followed days later by an open letter from the re-convened Jewish Sanhedrin. The open letter addressed BOTH Russian President Putin and the new US President Trump - asking them both to fulfill the Cyrus mandate of enabling the rebuilding of the Temple.

Rabbi Hillel Weiss, who serves as spokesman for the Sanhedrin, explained that Donald Trump's rise to power had 'made the eternal Jewish dream a very real possibility'.

Trump's strong stand in support of the Jewish claim to Jerusalem and the West Bank (Biblically known as Judea and Samaria) has led to the Sanhedrin to the belief that he could also support full Israeli rights to the Temple Mount.

Compared to President Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin might seem like an even more unlikely Cyrus. Many would instead view him as a potential 'Gog' - one of Israel's great End Time enemies.

The Sanhedrin however are basing their letter to Putin on unverified positive reports concerning Putin's attitude to the Temple Mount. Visiting the Western Wall in 2012, Putin allegedly disclosed that he was personally praying for the rebuilding of the Temple.

On this basis, the Sanhedrin decided to write to both Putin and Trump - inviting them both to fulfil the Cyrus mandate.

The optimism of the Sanhedrin is palpable. Rabbi Weiss explains: "We are poised to rebuild the Temple.

The political conditions today, in which the two most important national leaders in the world support the Jewish right to Jerusalem as their spiritual inheritance, is historically unprecedented".

Cyrus or the Anti-Christ

While the Sanhedrin is looking for a Cyrus type figure to arise to help support the building of the Third Temple, many Christians tend to link the rebuilding of the Temple not with a Cyrus but rather with the anti-Christ himself.

The Scriptures appear clear that the coming anti-Christ will defile the temple, but we shouldn't necessarily equate foreign leaders who facilitate the rebuilding with the coming anti-Christ.

In his day, King Cyrus helped build a temple in Jerusalem at divine instruction, which was later defiled by Antiochus and then frequented by Jesus the Messiah.

Could it be that God will likewise in the End Times raise up a new Cyrus figure that will help facilitate the rebuilding of the temple - which will later be defiled before the Messiah finally returns to take His rightful place in the Temple?

Trump's got the numbers

Jewish leaders have pointed out that the gematria (numerical value) of Donald Trump's name equals that of the phrase 'Meshiach Ben David' (Messiah, Son of David). These same rabbis are quick to point out that they do not believe that Trump is the Messiah (just as well!).

They view the gematria of Trump's name as an indication of him playing a role in the 'redemptive process' - a role in preparing the conditions for the Messiah's arrival. What could prepare the way for the Messiah more than the rebuilding of the Temple?

It is interesting in this context to also consider Michael Snyder's calculations that Trump was born 700 days before Israel became a nation, won the election on Prime Minister Netanyahu's 7th year, 7th month and 7th day in office, and served his first full day in the White House at the age of 70 years, 7 months and 7 days old.

While we should be careful of reading too much into these numbers, it would seem that God Himself has had His hand on the unusual rise of Donald Trump and if so would have a particular purpose for his presidency.

Could these Jewish leaders be right that Trump could have a Cyrus call on his life?

Summary
There is great excitement within the Temple Movement in Israel that the time might be drawing near for the long desired rebuilding of the House of God.
While the Sanhedrin is obviously excited about the rise of Trump and rumours of Putin being supportive, it is still early days, and we have no definite statements from either leader to support these assumptions.
As believers we should none-the-less be watching these developments, praying for God's prophesied purposes to be accomplished, and checking our own spiritual lives to make sure that we are ready to meet the soon coming King.

Germany's Muslim Demographic Future
Germany's Muslim population - which surpassed six million in 2016 for the first time - has already changed the face of the country forever.
Germany will need to take in 300,000 migrants annually for the next 40 years to stop population decline, according to a leaked government report.

The document, parts of which were published by the Rheinische Post on February 1, reveals that the German government is counting on permanent mass migration -- presumably from Africa, Asia and the Middle East -- to keep the current size of the German population (82.8 million) stable through 2060.

The report implies that Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision to allow into the country some 1.5 million mostly Muslim migrants between 2015 and 2016 was not primarily a humanitarian gesture, but a calculated effort to stave off Germany's demographic decline and to preserve the future viability of the German welfare state.

If most of the new migrants arriving in Germany for the next four decades are from the Islamic world, the Muslim population of Germany could jump to well over 20 million and account for more than 25% of the overall German population by 2060.

Critics of Germany's open-door immigration policy are warning that the recent surge in Germany's Muslim population -- which surpassed six million in 2016 for the first time -- has already changed the face of the country forever.

Mass migration is fast-tracking the rise of Islam in Germany, as evidenced by the proliferation of no-go zones, Sharia courts, polygamy, child marriages and honor violence.

Mass migration has also been responsible for social chaos, including jihadist attacks, a migrant rape epidemic, a public health crisis, rising crime and a rush by German citizens to purchase weapons for self-defense -- and even to abandon Germany altogether.

The government has not said how it plans to integrate potentially millions of additional Muslims into German society. The price for reversing Germany's demographic decline appears to be the further Islamization of Germany under the guise of multiculturalism.

According to the report, which was drafted by the Federal Statistics Office (Destatis), the government had previously predicted that Germany's population would drop from a high of 82 million to 73 million by the year 2060 -- or even 67.6 million in the worst case scenario.

That estimate is now being revised, however, based on a recalculation of forecasts regarding immigration, birth rates and life expectancy.

Due to positive net migration (more people entering the country than leaving it), the German population increased by 1.14 million in 2015, and by another 750,000 in 2016, to reach an all-time high of 82.8 million at the end of 2016, according to preliminary estimates by Destatis.

With a fertility rate of 1.6 births per woman, well below the replacement rate of 2.1, Germany will require a permanent influx of 300,000 migrants per year in order keep the current population level stable through the year 2060, according to the report.

The report stresses the need quickly to integrate migrants into the workforce so that they can begin paying into the social welfare system. "According to past experience, this will not be easy and will take longer than initially often hoped," the report concedes. "Successes will only be visible in the medium to long term."

A recent survey by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung found that the 30 biggest German companies have employed only 54 refugees, including 50 who have been hired as couriers by Deutsche Post, the logistics provider. Company executives said the main problem is that migrants lack professional qualifications and German language skills.

According to the Federal Labor Office, the educational level of newly arrived migrants in Germany is far lower than expected: only a quarter have a high school diploma, while three quarters have no vocational training at all. Only 4% of new arrivals to Germany are highly qualified.

For now, the vast majority of migrants who entered Germany in 2015 and 2016 are wards of the German state. German taxpayers payed around ¬21.7 billion ($23.4 billion) on aid for refugees and asylum seekers in 2016, and will pay a similar amount in 2017.

A Finance Ministry document revealed that the migrant crisis could end up costing German taxpayers ¬93.6 billion ($101 billion) between now and 2020. About ¬25.7 billion would be for social spending, such as unemployment benefits and housing support. About ¬5.7 billion would be destined for language courses and ¬4.6 billion for integrating refugees into the workforce.

Mass migration has also increased the demand for housing and has pushed up rental costs for ordinary Germans. Some 350,000 new apartments are required each year to meet demand, but only 245,000 apartments were built in 2014, and another 248,000 in 2015, according to the Rheinische Post.

Meanwhile, migrants committed 208,344 crimes in 2015, according to a police report. This figure represented an 80% increase over 2014 and worked out to around 570 crimes committed by migrants every day, or 23 crimes each hour, between January and December 2015.

A leaked German intelligence document warned that mass migration from the Muslim world will lead to increasing political instability in the country.

The document warned that the "integration of hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants will be impossible given the large numbers involved and the already-existing Muslim parallel societies in Germany." The document added:

"We are importing Islamic extremism, Arab anti-Semitism, national and ethnic conflicts of other peoples, as well as a different understanding of society and law. German security agencies are unable to deal with these imported security problems, and the resulting reactions from the German population."

In an interview with Die Welt, an unidentified high-ranking security official said:

"The high influx of people from other parts of the world will lead to the instability of our country. By allowing this mass migration, we are producing extremists. Mainstream society is radicalizing because the majority does not want migration, which is being forced by the political elites. In the future, many Germans will turn away from the constitutional state."

A recent YouGov poll found that 68% of Germans believe that security in the country has deteriorated due to mass migration. Nearly 70% of respondents said they fear for their lives and property in German train stations and subways, while 63% feel unsafe at large public events.

An INSA poll found that 60% of the Germans believe that Islam does not belong to Germany. Nearly half (46%) of those surveyed said they are worried about the "Islamization" of Germany.

If the German election were held today, however, Angela Merkel would easily win another four-year term as chancellor. An INSA poll conducted for Bild on February 2 found that Merkel's ruling Christian Democratic Party (CDU) would win with 33% of the vote, compared to 27% for the center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD) and 9% for the anti-immigration party Alternative for Germany (AfD).

Calculating the Muslim Population of Germany

Germany now vies with France for the highest Muslim population in Western Europe.

The increase in Germany's Muslim population is being fueled by mass migration. An estimated 300,000 migrants arrived in Germany in 2016, in addition to the more than one million who arrived in 2015.

At least 80% (or 800,000 in 2015 and 240,000 in 2016) of the newcomers were Muslim, according to the Central Council of Muslims in Germany.

In addition to the newcomers, the rate of population increase of the Muslim community already living in Germany is around 1.6% per year (or 77,000), according to data extrapolated from a Pew Research Center study on the growth of the Muslim population in Europe.

Based on Pew projections, which were proffered before the current migration crisis, the Muslim population of Germany was to have reached an estimated 5,145,000 by the end of 2015.

Adding the 800,000 Muslim migrants who arrived in Germany in 2015, and the 240,000 who arrived in 2016, combined with the 77,000 natural increase, the Muslim population of Germany jumped by 1,117,000, to reach an estimated 6,262,000 by the end of 2016. This amounts to approximately 7.6% of Germany's overall population of 82.8 million.

The Muslim population of Germany could swell to 20 million as early as 2020, according to the president of the Bavarian Association of Municipalities (Bayerische Gemeindetag), Uwe Brandl.
His forecast is based on so-called family reunifications -- individuals whose asylum applications are approved will subsequently bring between four and eight additional family members to Germany.
More than a decade ago historian Bernard Lewis warned that if current migration trends continue, Europe will be Islamic by the end of the 21st century. Germany's political elites are at the vanguard of making that prediction come true.

What Makes Christianity Different
One aspect of Christianity is so amazing, that it impresses even the CBS Evening News.
Quick, name the practice that most sets Christianity apart from the non-Christian world. Respect for human life? Not really.

Religions such as Jainism have, if anything, an even more uncompromising prohibition against harming any living things.

Sexual morality? Again, there are religions--Orthodox Judaism and Islam immediately come to mind--that place an even higher premium on sexual purity than Christianity.

If you doubt this, ask yourself when was the last time you saw a Christian woman in a burqa.

The answer to this question is forgiveness.

No other belief system has the equivalent of forgiving your brother seventy times seven, i.e., every time--much less commands you to love your enemies, and bless those who persecute you.

The story began in 2005 in the city of Benton Harbor, Michigan. On that day, Jameel McGee was, in his words, "minding his own business," when he was stopped by a policeman, Andrew Collins.

The encounter did not go well for McGee. Collins accused him of selling drugs and arrested him. At the time, McGee insisted that the charges were "all made up."

As CBS noted, "Of course, a lot of accused men make that claim," and the outcome in McGee's case was pretty much the same as in other such cases: He wound up serving four years in prison.

In McGee's words, "I lost everything."

Making matters infinitely worse was that McGee was telling the truth: He was in fact an innocent man.

We know this because the policeman, Collins, was subsequently "caught, and served a year and a half for falsifying many police reports, planting drugs and stealing."

Among the falsified police reports was the one concerning Jameel McGee.

While exoneration is sweet, it doesn't make up for the four years spent behind bars. As McGee told CBS, "My only goal was to seek him when I got home and to hurt him."

He appeared to have gotten his chance when both McGee and Collins ended up working at a café run by Mosaic Christian Community Development Center. As CBS put it, the "bad cop and the wrongfully accused man had no choice but to have it out."

And that brings me back to what I said about Christianity's unique emphasis on forgiveness. Collins told McGee "Honestly, I have no explanation, all I can do is say I'm sorry."

McGee's response, "That was pretty much what I needed to hear."

But McGee did not stop there: He befriended the man who wronged him, so much so that he eventually told Collins that he loved him. As Collins tells the tale, "I just started weeping because he doesn't owe me that. I don't deserve that."

Thankfully, forgiveness, and the healing it brings in its wake, has nothing to do with "deserve."

As McGee, a Christian, understood, we forgive one another because, as Paul told both the Ephesians and the Colossians, God in Christ has forgiven us.

The power of forgiveness transcends personal relationships. Think of the reaction to the Amish forgiving the man who killed ten young girls back in 2007. There was a power at work there that even the most hardened skeptic could not deny.

Today, McGee and Collins share their story with others. At least one person seems to have taken its message to heart.

The CBS reporter ended with the following question: "If these two guys from the coffee shop can set aside their bitter grounds, what's our excuse?"

The answer, especially for the Christian, is "none."

The Evolving Threat of Jihad in the West

isis.pngOne of the most important stories related to the September 11 attacks was the one that was deliberately left largely untold. That story is the response of some Muslims in America to the massacre of nearly 3,000 people by Islamic supremacists in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.
According to a Washington Post article published on September 18, 2001, in Jersey City, New Jersey, across the river from the destroyed World Trade Center, “Within hours of the two jetliners plowing into the World Trade Center, law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river.”
The New York Post reported on September 15, 2001, that Muslim Americans in Patterson, NJ were also seen celebrating the attacks. Word-of-mouth reports abounded in the weeks and months following September 11 of spontaneous celebrations carried out that day in Dearborn, Michigan, in Virginia and other Muslim American communities.
The most notable aspect of the published reports of the celebrations was that there were so few of them.

The stories were suppressed at the time by political leaders. Then New York mayor Rudy Guiliani for instance said the celebrations shouldn’t be reported lest they lead to violent attacks against peaceful Muslims.
Then president George W. Bush rushed to defend and uphold Islam as a “religion of peace,” almost immediately after the attacks. Bush insisted that al-Qaida was a fringe movement and ideology in the world of Islam. Its Islamic supremacism did not reflect either the Islamic faith or the ideology of the overwhelming majority of Muslims.

The military is increasingly preparing for urban warfare that centers around civil unrest, economic breakdown and widespread riots.

Rather, it's a tool pro-lifers have used to dupe women into seeing fetuses as human beings.
She begins by recounting ultrasound's origin as a weapon in submarine warfare--a weapon that men soon turned from the ocean's briny depths "toward women's bodies."
"Ultrasound," Weigel opines, "made it possible for the male doctor to evaluate the fetus without female interference," (as if women never become doctors).
"The framing of the ultrasound,"--again, this is a quote--"was notable for what it excluded: the woman. In order to make the fetus visible, it made her disappear." I'm not making this up.
Weigel argues that the form on an ultrasound screen isn't meaningfully different from the "rapidly dividing cell mass" of early pregnancy.

Israel possessed the 16th strongest military in the world as of March, 2016, according to Global Firepower's annual ranking.
The rankings omit consideration of nuclear capability and it likely that if this were not the case, Israel would gain in rank considerably over the 8 non-nuclear countries currently ranked ahead on the list.
Global Firepower considers amount and diversity of armament, recent combat experience, number of troops, alliances, logistical factors, geography, technological sophistication and many other elements for a total of 50 factors.
When population is taken into consideration as well, Israel's relatively small 8.3 million (98th largest country in the world) easily competes with rival nations that dwarf it in the size, such as Brazil's population of 211 million (15th in the ranking).
Compared within its own region, Israel is still a veritable powerhouse next to Iran at 21st, Saudi Arabia at 24th and Iraq at 59th.
Egypt ranked above Israel if nuclear arms are not taken into account, although Egypt does so with eleven times the population base.
Yet the Six Days War showed the effectiveness of the Israeli defense Force against a coalition of Arab states.
So, what sets Israel so far ahead of other countries and secures its perennially-high position in military rankings?

When Gen. Michael Flynn marched into the White House Briefing Room to declare that "we are officially putting Iran on notice," he drew a red line for President Trump. In tweeting the threat, Trump agreed.
His credibility is now on the line.
And what triggered this virtual ultimatum?
Iran-backed Houthi rebels, said Flynn, attacked a Saudi warship, and Tehran tested a missile, undermining "security, prosperity and stability throughout the Middle East," placing "American lives at risk."
But how so?
The Saudis have been bombing the Houthi rebels and ravaging their country, Yemen, for two years. Are the Saudis entitled to immunity from retaliation in wars they start?
Where is the evidence Iran had a role in the Red Sea attack on the Saudi ship? And why would President Trump make this war his war?
As for the Iranian missile test, a 2015 U.N. resolution "called upon" Iran not to test nuclear-capable missiles. It did not forbid Iran from testing conventional missiles, which Tehran insists this was.
Is the United States making new demands on Iran not written into the nuclear treaty or international law – to provoke a confrontation?
Did Flynn coordinate with our allies about this warning of possible military action against Iran? Is NATO obligated to join any action we might take?
Or are we going to carry out any retaliation alone, as our NATO allies observe, while the Israelis, Gulf Arabs, Saudis and the Beltway War Party, which wishes to be rid of Trump, cheer him on?
Bibi Netanyahu hailed Flynn's statement, calling Iran's missile test a flagrant violation of the U.N. resolution and declaring, "Iranian aggression must not go unanswered." By whom, besides us?
The Saudi king spoke with Trump Sunday. Did he persuade the president to get America more engaged against Iran?
Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker is among those delighted with the White House warning:
"No longer will Iran be given a pass for its repeated ballistic missile violations, continued support of terrorism, human rights abuses and other hostile activities that threaten international peace and security."

The Biblical Infidelity Of Progressive Christians
Flying under the banner of social justice or emergent church, the Christian Left is nothing more than what they claimed to hate in the old "Religious Right" One of the most fascinating speeches in the Bible happens in Acts 5 with Jewish Pharisee Gamaliel addressing the Sanhedrin. He warns them that if the message being preached by the Apostles of Jesus was of man, it would fail. But if it was from God, it couldn't be stopped.
It was of God, and it wasn't stopped.
I find that passage particularly relevant today within American Christendom.
There is a reason that liberal Christian movements like those championed by Jim Wallis, Rachel Held Evans, Shane Claiborne and others are so ineffective and unpersuasive in American culture.
Rather than seeking to glorify and build the Kingdom of God, they regularly appropriate the language of Scripture to advocate for earthly, largely political causes that never address the principal need of humanity: redemption from sin.
For instance, preaching the words of Scripture when it comes to our nation's policy towards refugees is admirable (provided it is done in context) only if you don't ignore, downplay, or reject the counsel of Scripture when it comes to policy regarding abortion, marriage, and human sexuality.

So-called progressive Christians have long chastised their conservative brethren for cherry-picking Scripture to support certain political causes. And to the extent that conservatives have done that, it has been to our detriment.
One need only walk through the graveyard of the "Religious Right" for confirmation of that reality. The Religious Right did not fall apart because it sought to apply the truth of the Bible to politics. It was when it tied the message of the Gospel to a political agenda.
Before long, the Republican Party became an idol, and its success was seen as the most effective way to advance righteousness in the land. The Religious Right ceased to be about God, and thus it ceased to be.

The "Palestinian Village" Where Children Are Raised To Be Terrorists
In 1996 Hillary Clinton wrote a children's book titled "It Takes a Village." The "Palestinian village," sadly, is a place where children are raised to be terrorists. Like schoolchildren everywhere, Palestinian Arab children occasionally are assigned by their teachers to write poems. But the poetry they produce is not like that of children in the U.S. or elsewhere in the free world.
Palestinian Media Watch reports that twice in the past month, a children's program on official Palestinian Authority Television (PA TV) featured children reciting their poems. Among the most common terms they used: "blood," "slaughter" and "revolution."
The PA TV program is called "The Best Home," and the children who were selected to read their poems on air were obviously meant to exemplify what children in "the best Palestinian homes" should believe.
In the Jan. 6 edition, a little Palestinian boy named Muhammad proudly recited these lines about Jews, and what Arabs should do to them: "As we expelled them from Gaza and Sderot; As we slaughtered them in your streets, Beirut; For you, Yasser Arafat, for you we shall die...."
The boy continued with a specific declaration of identification with Fatah, the terrorist movement that is chaired by PA President Mahmoud Abbas: "Tomorrow we will take our vengeance, and their leader will be carried in a coffin; We, Fatah, are a storm, and our blood is food for the revolution...."

Just to make it crystal clear to the viewing audience that the boy's words have the approval and blessing of the PA regime, the program's host (a PA employee) exclaimed at the end: "Bravo, Muhammad, thank you, thank you, thank you!"

The Church is in a sorry state indeed when the deity of Christ can be denied and the beliefs of another faith espoused from the pulpit of a Christian church.
The Christmas service in Saint Mary's Episcopal Church in Glasgow, Scotland was the cause of no small of controversy when it included a reading of Quranic verses that deny the deity of Christ.
Lest you think that these were read by the Very Rev. Kelvin Holdsworth for their historical or comparative value, video of the service shows the verses being recited in Arabic by a Muslim woman as if she were leading a worship service of Allah in a Mosque (a privilege denied to Muslim women, ironically).
Conducting theological discussions on points of comparative religion can improve understanding of other religions, but that is not what happened here.
Interfaith dialog can be quite positive and lead to better community relations and greater respect, while acknowledging sincere differences of belief.
But that was also not what took place this Christmas in the Cathedral of Glasgow.
In this case, an explicitly anti-Christian message was incorporated into one of the most important celebrations of the year, and Jesus was denied from the pulpit as the congregation sat and looked on.

2016 has broken records for Christian persecution across the world yet it remains one of the least reported stories in the media.

From terrorist attacks and mass killings to increasingly oppressive laws targeting Christians with imprisonment and excessive fines for practicing their faith, the wave of violence continues to swell.

The atrocities of the Islamic State, the genocide committed by Boko Haram in Nigeria, hundreds of new church burnings in India and the 2016 Easter Sunday bombing in Lahore, Pakistan which killed 74 and injured 320 are all just a few examples of the violence and fear Christians around the world must endure each day.

Several new studies were recently published that track the nature and extent of persecution using varying methodologies, but there is little doubt that the world is growing increasingly hostile to Christians.

To gain a more accurate idea of the dangers faced by Christians, just this month Open Doors USA published its annual World Watch List of the 50 worst countries for Christian persecution.


Both Gordon-Conwell's Center for the Study of Global Christianity and the Turin-based Center for Studies on New Religions have published their own annual reports on killings and persecutions of Christians which largely agree in quantitative terms.

Though the exact totals diverge due to different data gathering methodology, all the research agrees that the trend, especially in the past three years, has seen an increase in persecution.

Open Doors identifies 2016 as the worst year on record after steadily increasing violence since 2014. Though confirmed martyrdom cases total 1,200 deaths, this fails to account for thousands more in active combat zones such as Iraq, Syria and places in Africa where data is difficult to confirm.

The Center for the Study of Global Christianity and Center for Studies on New Religions both offer a more liberal estimate of 27,000 Christians killed for their faith with an additional 63,000 Christians killed over tribal or territorial conflicts, primarily throughout Africa.

North Korea once again tops the Open Doors' list (for the 16th consecutive year) as the most oppressive country for Christians, but Somalia is a close second.

"If a Christian is discovered in Somalia, they are unlikely to live to see another day. Just the suspicion that someone is a Christian can lead to a rushed beheading," said Lisa Pearce, CEO of Open Doors UK and Ireland.

Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen and Eritrea round out the top ten worst nations.

All the countries after North Korea in the top ten are majority Muslim countries and Islam is in fact the primary source of persecution in 35 out of the 50 countries found on the list.

The total number of Christians facing high, very high or extreme levels of persecution is estimated at 215 million.

In the world's largest democracy, Christianity has increasingly become a target of harsh new laws, violent mobs and systematic killing at the hands of Hindu nationalists.

These Hindu nationalists use discrimination and non-violent oppression first on minority Christians, who are largely from the lower social castes, but have increasingly turned to church burnings and campaigns of murder of Dalits and other poor, Indian Christians.

"This year there is a clear pattern of rising religious intolerance across the Indian sub-continent which affects many millions of Christians," said Lisa Pearce.

Iran, coming in at number eight on the list, has refrained from the mass killings and mob violence seen in Pakistan, Syria, India and elsewhere, but has instead embarked on a campaign of social control of churches, arbitrary arrest and torture along with the widespread use of crippling fines for practicing Christian beliefs that amounts to a mass seizure of wealth.

Although it may be easy for those who live in developed nations to forget or ignore the suffering taking place in distant lands, it is important to keep in mind the plight of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

For the millions living in fear and worshiping in secret, the price of their faith can be very high indeed.

So, take a moment to keep these persecuted Christians in your prayers, in your politics and consider supporting an aid organization trying to make a difference such as Open Doors.

Divinity Schools Stop Praying To The Father; Use Gender-Neutral Language

The divinity schools at Duke and Vanderbilt Universities have rekindled debate, previously addressed at Notre Dame and Harvard, by issuing gender neutral guidance to their professors.

Referring to God as "Father", it would seem, serves to reinforce patriarchy.

The current year's course catalog for Vanderbilt University advises professors that they should pay "consistent attention to the use of inclusive language, especially in relation to the Divine because the school commits continuously and explicitly to include gender as an analyzed category and to mitigate sexism."


The course guide goes on to explain that "masculine titles, pronouns and imagery for God have served as a cornerstone for patriarchy."

As it notes that not all names used for God are gendered, it calls for professors to seek an "exploration of fresh language for God." A suggested "beginning point for developing a more inclusive language about God" are terms such as "God" and "Godself" (rather than Himself).

Though the debate may seem petty to some and a gross imposition of feminism to others, there has been significant academic study on the origins of gendered language for God.

The Hebrew Elohim used in Genesis is a dual gendered term that can be singular (for emphasis) or plural, for example.

Then there are references such as Isaiah 66:13 "As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem." or the many references to childbirth, such as John 1:12 "But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.

When a pastor refers to God as the Father or Jesus as the Son, this is merely referencing attributes of God's nature through such labels.

To play linguistic games now serves little purpose but to push a feminist agenda that seeks to undo millennia of tradition. The trinity is composed of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, not as an accident but because those aspects of God are ever present.

Arguments that de-emphasize the masculine grammar in religious language can decrease oppression of women and erode the power of the patriarchy, but don't pass the test of history either.

Hinduism contains a great number of explicitly female deities and Hindu sects that devote themselves to the feminine Kali are no less patriarchic or oppressive to women than any others in a typically "patriarch" Indian society.

The associate dean for academic affairs at Vanderbilt's school of divinity, Melissa Snarr, explained in an email that the precise use of gendered language "is up to the individual professor's interpretation for their classes and is suggestive rather than mandatory.

Few would deny that the awareness of God's nature as being beyond human gender is positive, but if the result is both awkward and unnaturally "progressive" in its attempt to push its liberal agenda, does it really belong in the pulpit or the classroomor neither?

The War On Cash - EU Now Pushing "Restrictions On Payments In Cash"
We may be only one terror attack away from such actions being justified to eliminate cash completely.
In the most far-reaching move toward a cashless society to date, the European Commission proposed enforcing "restrictions on payments in cash" under an all-too-familiar premise -- because terrorism.

"Payments in cash are widely used in the financing of terrorist activities," the Commission's proposal states. "In this context, the relevance of potential upper limits to cash payments could also be explored. Several Member States have in place prohibitions for cash payments above a specific threshold."

On the heels of the European Central Bank's discontinuation of the ¬500 note, the Commission's plan would drastically scale back civilians' ability to conduct transactions using currency -- and, by default, will allow banks and the State further means to track individuals via bank cards.

According to the Commission's Inception Impact Assessment,

Cash has the important feature of offering anonymity to transactions. Such anonymity may be desired for legitimate reason (e.g. protection of privacy).

But, such anonymity can also be misused for money laundering and terrorist financing purposes. The possibility to conduct large cash payments facilitates money laundering and terrorist financing activities because of the difficulty to control cash payment transactions.


In other words, because criminals and terrorists use paper currency, the ability for law-abiding citizens to conduct anonymous transactions with cash must be curtailed.

For any number of reasons -- not the least of which is the laughable presumption terrorists would just walk into a store and purchase big ticket tools of the trade -- this assessment fails the sniff test.

In actuality, moving away from the use of physical currency constitutes a veritable jackpot for the West's Surveillance State, and presents myriad possibilities for abuse by the European Commission and member governments.

How long will it be, after all, before such restrictions extend to transactions of lesser sums?

"Potential restrictions to cash payments would be a means to fight criminal activities entailing large payment transactions in cash by organised criminal networks," the plan states.

"Restricting large payments in cash, in addition to cash declarations and other AML obligations, would hamper the operation of terrorist networks, and other criminal activities, i.e. have a preventive effect.

It would also facilitate further investigations to track financial transactions in the course of terrorist activities."

Notably, though the proposal repeatedly proffers the preventive effect made possible through prohibitions on large cash transactions, evidence supporting that theory is glaringly absent. It continues:

Effective investigations are hindered as cash payments transactions are anonymous. Thus restrictions on cash payments would facilitate investigations.

However, as cash transactions are moved to the financial system, it is essential that financial institutions have adequate controls and procedures in place that enable them to know the person with whom they are dealing.

Adequate due diligence on new and existing customers is a key part of these controls in, line with the AMLD [Anti-Money Laundering Directive].

Terrorists use cash to sustain their illegal activities, not only for illegal transactions (e.g. the acquisition of explosives) but also for payments which are in appearance legal (e.g. transactions for accommodation or transport).

While a restriction on payments in cash would certainly be ignored for transactions that are in any case already illegal, the restriction could create a significant hindrance to the conduct of transactions that are ancillary to terrorist activities.

The Commission's own language evinces a degree of doubt as to whether such a plan would work, saying only "the restriction could create a significant hindrance" to terrorist operations.

Indeed, as pointed out by Sovereign Man's, Simon Black, restricting large-sum cash dealings might have the opposite effect on crime:

If you examine countries with very low denominations of cash, the opposite holds true: crime rates, and in particular organized crime rates, are extremely high.

Consider Venezuela, Nigeria, Brazil, South Africa, etc. Organized crime is prevalent. Yet each of these has a currency whose maximum denomination is less than $30.

The same trend holds true when looking at corruption and tax evasion.

Yet the European Commission still asserts, "Organised crime and terrorism financing rely on cash for payments for carrying out their illegal activities and benefitting from them.

By restricting the possibilities to use cash, the proposal would contribute to disrupt the financing of terrorism, as the need to use non anonymous means of payment would either deter the activity or contribute to its easier detection and investigation."

Perhaps the most astonishing and erroneous assumption in the plan is that terrorists and criminals will suddenly abide the law -- as if malicious groups would surmise, 'Well, large cash transactions aren't possible, so I guess we'll have to find another line of work.'

Black presents several examples of countries who have taken the leap away from paper currency only to be hit with soaring crime rates.

In short, banning or severely limiting paper currency is ineffective at what governments claim such programs are intended to do, as Black continues,

Bottom line, the political and financial establishments want you to willingly get on board with the idea of abolishing, or at least reducing, cash...

Simply put, the data doesn't support their assertion. It's just another hoax that will give them more power at the expense of your privacy and freedom.

Freedom to spend, as one desires, on what one chooses comprises such a basic right, governments have had to propagate a massive campaign to conflate physical money with the criminal element -- because the reality is, everyone uses paper currency -- even if the Commission disagrees:

While being allowed to pay in cash does not constitute a fundamental right, the objective of the initiative, which is to prevent the anonymity that cash payments allow, might be viewed as an infringement of the right to privacy enshrined in Article 7 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights [...]

It should also be observed that national restrictions to cash payments were never successfully challenged based on an infringement to fundamental rights.

It might seem convenient to gradually abolish paper currency in favor of, for instance, a bank or other card for all transactions, but the brutal truth of a cashless society is the heaviest hand of the State in our private lives.

The March for Life And the Anti-Trump Women's March: A Study In Contrasts
Two marches, two very different messages.
I'm writing this article on the eve of the 44th annual March for Life, but I can tell you in advance how it will differ dramatically from the recent Women's March, organized in protest of the inauguration of President Trump.

First, the media coverage of the events will be totally different.

Whereas the Women's March was in the mainstream media's spotlight, the March for Life will be a mere footnote for most mainstream outlets, regardless of how many people attend.

The fact that Vice President Pence will be speaking at the event - the first time a vice president has done so - might get some attention, but comparatively, the coverage of the Women's March will dwarf the coverage of the March for Life.

Not only so, but there's a good chance that those protesting the March for Life - always a miniscule number in comparison to the overall crowd - will get just as much media attention as the participants and the speakers, thereby giving a totally skewed impression to viewers and readers.


Second, the spirit of the events will be totally different.

Despite the deep conviction of pro-lifers that we have witnessed an abortion holocaust, there will be no calls to burn down or blow up abortion clinics (contrast Madonna's thoughts about blowing up the White House while speaking at the Women's March), nor will there be vulgar and obscene attacks on individuals (contrast Ashley Judd's truly deplorable comments).

There will be nothing in the pro-life speeches that will incite people to violence or hatred. Instead, there will be an appeal for life - life for the most innocent and unprotected citizens of our society - and a call to honor life.

And if my surmises are correct, the streets of DC will not be littered with signs and objects from the March for Life, in contrast with the litter left behind by the Women's March.

Third, the ideology of the events will be totally different.

Among the March for Life participants, you will not see signs with messages like this one, from the Women's March, proclaiming, "My menstrual blood will flow through the streets fighting for women of all genders," nor will you hear from radical feminists like Aida Hurtado and Gloria Steinem, extreme media leftists like filmmaker Michael Moore and CNN commentator Van Jones, transgender activists like Janet Mock and Raquel Willis, or women like Donna Hylton, who spent 27 years in prison for her role in the brutal kidnaping, torture and murder of a man. All of these were listed as speakers at the Women's March.

To sample some of the best-known quotes of Hurtado, "White men need white women in a way that they do not need women of Color because women of Color cannot fulfill white men's need for racially pure offspring."

And, "White men perceive women of Color primarily as workers and as objects of sexual power and aggression. Their sexual objectification of women of Color allows white men to express power and aggression sexually, without the emotional entanglements of, the rituals that are required in, relationships with women of their own group."

This is the kind of divisive identity politics that will be absent from the March for Life.

As for Hylton, her message at the march was one of solidarity with female prisoners of color, wanting to tell their story to the world, and I'm sure it's a story we need to hear.

Regrettably, she spoke not a word of her horrific past - not a word of remorse to say, "I was justly incarcerated for my actions, which I deeply regret and categorically renounce" - but only a word of solidarity with "all of those women who have been overlooked, marginalized, sexualized, dehumanized and silenced."

Her failure to renounce her past horrific deeds makes it difficult to hear the positive message she sought to bring.

Contrast that with the spirit of the late Dr. Bernard Nathanson, a founding father of NARAL known affectionately by his colleagues as the "abortion king," responsible for 75,000 abortions (by his own estimate), but who experienced a radical change of heart after watching an ultrasound of an abortion and became a pro-life icon.

Dr. Nathanson spoke at the 25th March for Life in 1998, and you can be sure his message always included the renouncing of his past sins.

And that, perhaps, will be the greatest contrast between the Women's March and the March for Life.

While the former certainly had some redemptive content, along with genuine concern about our new president, in no way was its overarching theme one of redemption or life or hope or even dignity. (In reality, many aspects of the Women's March were downright degrading to women.)

In stark contrast, the great theme of the March for Life will be one of redemption and life and hope and dignity.

Watch and see.

By the time many of you read this article, the 44th annual March for Life, along with the coverage of it by the media, will be history.

Prepping Moves From The Fringe To The Elite
Prepping was something that was previously considered to be on "the lunatic fringe". But in 2017, wealthy elitists are actually the most hardcore preppers of all.
Once upon a time, "prepping" was something that was considered to be on "the lunatic fringe" of society. But in 2017, wealthy elitists are actually the most hardcore preppers of all.

This is particularly true in places such as Silicon Valley, where a whole host of young tech moguls are putting a tremendous amount of time, effort and money into preparing for apocalyptic scenarios.

So while interest in prepping among the general population has fallen extremely low right now, the election of Donald Trump has given liberal wealthy elitists even more urgency to prepare for what they believe is a very uncertain future.

In the January 30th, 2017 edition of the New Yorker, reporter Evan Osnos has done an extraordinary job of profiling these wealthy elitists that are "getting ready for the crackup of civilization". One of the people that he interviewed was Steve Huffman, the young co-founder and CEO of Reddit...

Huffman, who lives in San Francisco, has large blue eyes, thick, sandy hair, and an air of restless curiosity; at the University of Virginia, he was a competitive ballroom dancer, who hacked his roommate's Web site as a prank.

He is less focussed on a specific threat--a quake on the San Andreas, a pandemic, a dirty bomb--than he is on the aftermath, "the temporary collapse of our government and structures," as he puts it. "I own a couple of motorcycles. I have a bunch of guns and ammo. Food. I figure that, with that, I can hole up in my house for some amount of time."

According to the article, Huffman estimates that "fifty-plus percent" of his elite friends in Silicon Valley have some form of "apocalypse insurance". Needless to say, that number would be far higher than for the general population as a whole.


Another tech mogul that was interviewed by Osnos for the story was former Facebook product manager Antonio García Martínez...

Last spring, as the Presidential campaign exposed increasingly toxic divisions in America, Antonio García Martínez, a forty-year-old former Facebook product manager living in San Francisco, bought five wooded acres on an island in the Pacific Northwest and brought in generators, solar panels, and thousands of rounds of ammunition. "When society loses a healthy founding myth, it descends into chaos," he told me.

The author of "Chaos Monkeys," an acerbic Silicon Valley memoir, García Martínez wanted a refuge that would be far from cities but not entirely isolated. "All these dudes think that one guy alone could somehow withstand the roving mob," he said. "No, you're going to need to form a local militia. You just need so many things to actually ride out the apocalypse."

Once he started telling peers in the Bay Area about his "little island project," they came "out of the woodwork" to describe their own preparations, he said. "I think people who are particularly attuned to the levers by which society actually works understand that we are skating on really thin cultural ice right now."

As you can see, a lot of these liberal elitists are actually secretly stashing away lots of guns and ammunition.

So don't believe everything that you read about them being "anti-gun".

Other big names in Silicon Valley have decided that having a property on the other side of the planet is the best form of "apocalypse insurance". The following comes from a story about Paypal founder Peter Thiel in the New York Times...

Mr. Thiel's admiration for New Zealand is longstanding. "Utopia," he once called it. He has an investment firm in the country that has put millions into local start-ups. He also owns lavish properties there, which his Silicon Valley friends hope to fly to in the event of a worldwide pandemic.

And of course Thiel is far from alone. So many wealthy individuals are buying up property in New Zealand these days that it is actually becoming a significant political issue over there.

In fact, it is being reported that foreigners purchased an astounding 3500 square kilometers during the first ten months of 2016...

Statistics showed foreigners had bought over 3500 square kilometers of New Zealand in the first ten months of 2016, which is over four times as much as they did in the same period in 2010.

LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman told The New Yorker that New Zealand had become the hot topic among Silicon Valley leaders lately.

"Saying you're 'buying a house in New Zealand' is kind of a wink, wink, say no more. Once you've done the Masonic handshake, they'll be, like, 'Oh, you know, I have a broker who sells old ICBM silos, and they're nuclear-hardened, and they kind of look like they would be interesting to live in."

Hoffman estimated that over half of the Silicon Valley insiders were into preparedness - especially since anti-elite sentiment has risen around the globe in recent years. It was intensified by events like Brexit and the election of Donald Trump, he added.

So are these wealthy elitists ahead of the curve, or are they just being paranoid?

Only time will tell, but they didn't become exceedingly wealthy in the first place by being stupid.

As I discussed yesterday on The Most Important News, there are certainly reasons to be optimistic now that Donald Trump has become president, but there are also lots of reasons to be prepping harder than ever.

We should be hopeful for the future and working for a better tomorrow, but we also need to understand that we live in a world that is becoming increasingly unstable.

And most of us think that it is just common sense to purchase insurance for our homes, our cars, our health, our lives and so many other things, and yet most of the population is completely unprepared for a major catastrophic event.

It is a good thing to have balance in life. My wife and I are very proud preppers, and there won't ever be a time when we aren't prepping.

But we also live our lives without any fear. We know that the world is going to get crazier and crazier, but we do not believe that it is a time to dig a hole and try to hide from the world.

Rather, now is a time to rise up and become the people that we were created to be.

So unlike these wealthy elitists, let us not be in fear of what is coming. There is no other time in history that I would have rather lived than right here and right now, and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Pro-Israel Christians Rally Support For A US Embassy In Jerusalem
President Trump will need to decide by June 1 between another waiver or an embassy move.
Aside from its centrality to Jewish peoplehood as the home of the ancient Jewish Temples and now the modern state of Israel's capital, Jerusalem is also synonymous with Judaism for many Bible-reading Christians.

As such, prominent pro-Israel Christian organizations are lining up to express their support for President Donald Trump's promise to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and to hold the president accountable for his words.

Susan Michael, U.S. director for the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ), said Christians already understand that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and would like to see the American government follow suit.

In fact, ICEJ has had its own "unofficial" embassy in Jerusalem since 1980, a point that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noted in his 2016 Christmas address.

"Hundreds of millions of Christians around the world understand from their Bible the spiritual significance of Jerusalem to the Jewish people, and that it was established as the capital of Israel some 3,000 years ago by King David," Michael told JNS.org, adding that Christians "believe the spiritual law of blessing established in Genesis 12 that God will bless those who bless the Jewish people....They want to see the U.S. standing in support of Israel and enjoying the blessings of doing so."

Matthew Staver, founder and chairman of the Liberty Counsel evangelical Christian organization and president of the Christians in Defense of Israel ministry, echoed Michael's assessment.

Pro-Woman, Not Pro-Abortion
Women who don't support abortion aren't real women, according to many modern feminists. Here's why they should read more history.
In a recent Saturday Night Live sketch, a group of millennial women visit the historic home of suffragette Susan B. Anthony in Rochester, New York.

Devout feminists one and all, they decide before leaving to invoke the ghost of Anthony by saying her name three times. Lo and behold, she appears, played by Kate McKinnon--bun, lace collar, and all.

Hilariously, the modern feminists find Anthony quite boring. She drones on about women's rights and dignity, while they check their smart phones and argue about dinner. Until finally she says something that wakes them all up: "Abortion is murder!"

Doubtless many modern feminists were taken aback by this Saturday Night slip-up, given the show's liberal leanings. But as Serrin Foster of Feminists for Life told National Review, all of the "feminist foremothers...without known exception, spoke out against abortion."


That's right. The suffragettes--Susan B. Anthony in particular--were fiercely pro-life, calling abortion a "crime against humanity," "feticide," and "child murder." In fact, one of the primary organizations backing pro-life candidates today--the Susan B. Anthony list--does so in her name.

Given how close the unborn were to the hearts of the earliest women's rights crusaders, it's troubling to see how unwelcome pro-life women are on the modern feminist stage. We saw this discrimination vividly last week during the nationwide Women's March.

Muffled but not quite absent were the voices of pro-life women. Several prominent pro-life organizations that applied as partners of the women's march were either dis-invited or ignored, though several showed up anyway.

Even the New York Times, in a surprising and praiseworthy piece, documented the virtual blackout of pro-life messages at the demonstration.

After booting a Texas anti-abortion group, Women's March co-chairwoman, Linda Sarsour, told the Times, "If you want to come to the march you are coming with the understanding that you respect a woman's right to choose."

In other words, pro-lifers not welcome!

"This is what we conservative women live with all the time," said Charmaine Yoest, senior fellow at American Values: "This idea that somehow we aren't really women and we just reflect internalized misogyny."

But as Bob Dylan sang, the times, they're a changin'. Just this month, the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute reported that abortions in the United States have fallen to their lowest rate since Roe v. Wade.

A lot has contributed to this decline, from pro-life legislation and ultrasound availability, to acceptance of unwed motherhood. So the news isn't all good.

But when you consider the growing movement of young people who see the rights of the unborn as a social justice issue, the tired assumption that feminism equals abortion support really begins to falter.

Even pop culture and late night TV are straying from the pro-abortion script.

And as Kathryn Jean Lopez wrote in National Review, this may be our chance to reintroduce an older, better women's movement--one that didn't pit the rights of mothers against the lives of their unborn children.

The "Peace Conference": An Outright Admission of Failure
The US has provided $1.4 billion in support over the last 20 years to the Palestinians..who have yet to create infrastructure for a viable economy.
The Paris Peace Conference was not as bad as it could have been.

The British and Russian governments sent low level delegations. Some of the wording in UN Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2334 disappeared, and the assembled agreed to resolve "all permanent status issues on the basis of United Nations Security Council resolutions 242 (1967) and 338 (1973), and also recalled relevant Security Council resolutions."
Resolution 242 is the benchmark for Israel's security requirements and its right to legitimacy and permanence in the region. And "recalling" is somewhat different from "planning to enforce."
Most interesting, however, is a three-part section toward the end. The mostly-European plus American gathering:

Weakened and distrusted central governments around the world have been incapable of responding to the way the internet and social media have empowered populist but previously fringe groups, a unique worldwide survey of government communication chiefs has found.
The survey spanning 40 countries is the first international review to reveal how deeply governments feel they are losing control and authority over communications.

Distrust of central governments and institutions of authority plus Internet as an alternative means of gathering information have combined and snowballed into an uprising of nationalism and populism, although the people attempting to run this dog and pony show like to mush those two concepts together with radicalization and extremism... because if you don't trust your loving central government, you obviously must be a radical extremist.
"When people feel ignored, unheard and unrepresented they turn to alternative sources of information. If governments do not communicate with citizens properly, citizens will go somewhere elsewhere for information," the report says.
Another way of reading this? "Waaaah! Our propaganda is no longer working!"
The report also says people are "more apprehensive than perhaps at any time since the end of the cold war". Really? Could that be because they are finally are more informed?
