Use Law lawfully

1 Timothy 1:8 But we know that the law [is] good, if a man use it lawfully;

In Greek the word translated as law comes from the root meaning ‘to serve’
(as in food, feed the cattle) but when we go to the Hebrew word it means
‘to shoot’, ‘to cast’. Law is the delivery of commandments or orders.

The Greek word for commandment is ‘entole’ which means orders, rule but in
Hebrew there are two words ‘mitzvah’ which comes from ‘tsavah’ and means
‘orders’, ‘to charge’. But we also have another word ‘peh’ which actually
means ‘mouth’ so when we read scriptures ‘according to the commandments of
the Lord’, it actually is written ‘according to the mouth of the Lord’ or
what the Lord said.

Everything the Lord has said or says unto a person is a Commandment. So
today if the Holy Spirit has communicated any instruction to us is a
Commandment to us and has to be executed, if not it is sin. It is for this
reason the Lord says in the latter days He will write His Commandments in
the hearts of man.

Another point to note, there is no greater or lesser Commandment, any
Commandment broken is sin, be it worshipping another god, worshipping an
idol, killing a person, adultery or even lying. Before the eyes of the Lord
a sin is a sin no bigger or smaller, it is the hardness of the heart of the
sinner that defines one greater or lesser not the sin. Sin is an error if
corrected is no harm, but the danger is as a person remains in sin, keeps
sinning the heart condition changes. So a person who killed and knows it is
wrong would stand a better chance of getting God’s mercy than a person who
keeps on lying over a long period and does not feel it is wrong. Grieving
the Holy Spirit happens when a heart that has experienced the love and
grace of God yet is hardened, that it will never change thus this sin is
unforgivable.

When Paul said law is good or bad it is not the commandments or orders what
he commented on but it was on its delivery or implementation.

Coming to today’s message Paul comments on delivery of the Commandments.
Commandments of the Lord are light so by no way can be bad, but if we do
not implement them for the purpose it is given then we cause darkness
instead of light. For example God said ‘thou shall not kill’, this
Commandment was given concerning man, but if we implement is generally and
use it against animals or plants (feel guilt for killing an plant or
animal) than that would amount to misuse of the Commandment. God did
instruct us to kill animals for food, this killing was allowed while
respecting the life of that being.

Today’s message speaks of the importance of right delivery of Commandments
and for that one needs to understand the Commandment and its purpose, and
this truth comes only through the Holy Spirit (Spirit of Truth). Israelites
/ Jews (leaving for a few) never understood the truth because they had not
received the Holy Spirit. For example they focused on what Moses spoke but
not on the fact that the Lord spoke through Moses, so the law which they
implemented was done in the name of the Moses and thus called it the ‘Law
of Moses’. These became traditions and rituals that were iron shackles to
their spirit, leading to its destruction. Without the Holy Spirit law can
be our destruction and with the Holy Spirit the Law is life (Angels call it
instructions of life).

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Light, Your Word is Light. Going against your Word or its
purpose causes obstruction of light and hence darkness. We pray Lord we
understand your Commandments and mainly understand its purpose so that they
become a lamp to our feet and light unto our path...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Exodus 38:21 This is the sum of the tabernacle, [even] of the tabernacle
of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses,
[for] the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the
priest.

Numbers 9:18 At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel
journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: as long as the
cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents.

Romans 2:
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law:
and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13 (For not the hearers of the law [are] just before God, but the doers of
the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things
contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their
conscience also bearing witness, and [their] thoughts the mean while
accusing or else excusing one another;)

Hebrews 8:10 For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of
Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their
mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they
shall be to me a people:

Things that accompany salvation

Hebrew 6:9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things
that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

In today’s message we read Paul (assumed) to talk about 3 things first
Salvation, better things and things that accompany salvation.

We all know salvation is all about being saved. All may think it is very
simple, NO. People misunderstand being saved from Hell means salvation.
Believing/baptized in the Lord Jesus Christ one is saved from the curse of
Hell but only those who are baptized both in Christ and His Holy Spirit
(carry the Cross) will enter Heaven. Both the goats and sheep are part of
His flock, the sheep enter Heaven but the goats do not, they receive the
Lake of Fire / Sulphur (which by the way is worse than Hell).

Now coming to the better things and things that accompany salvation. They
both are blessings but the latter part, things that company salvation are
what the Bible says in many places as ‘promises in father Abraham’. These
are the promises that God made with Abraham as part of the Covenant God
made with man. Though the Bible takes mainly the name of Abraham it also
includes those promises made with other 6 who were also part of the
Covenant that God made with man.

God made only one Covenant with man and it started with Noah and then it
was Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David and lastly with Jesus. With each
one God added and bettered the Covenant (older blessings continued). Bible
speaks amore about the Covenant with Noah, Abraham and Jesus since major
additions were made with them. God promised Noah of being the God of his
people, with Abraham God promised Heaven (Promised Land) to his people and
with Jesus Christ, abundant grace and truth was given via the Holy Spirit
given to his people. At every stage the promises were made to the people
that connected with the seven signatories (spiritually). So if we are in
Christ then we are eligible to all the promises made throughout the
Covenant. Since the Jews rejected Christ they failed to receive the Holy
Spirit and thus failed to receive abundant and truth grace (they have the
grace of God only in some areas).

The other part of today’s scripture which defines as ‘better things’ are
things excluded and these include worldly things/pleasures. That means our
daily food or the basic necessities were promised as part of the Covenant
but are those extras like the Quails’ meat they ate in exile. There was
never a day in those forty years of exile that God did not feed them Manna
or the footwear they started with got damaged. So our God does bless us
with things that are worldly when we ask of Him but we can lose our
salvation if we run more after these things. The less of these things makes
our receiving our salvation more assured, but life becomes more difficult
to live. Those Israelites during exile who murmured greatly of not
receiving sufficient meat got so much and died of sickness (plague) with
mouths full of meat; they did not enter the Promised Land.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You God of All. Everything created is by You, but You call only those
who are in You, in the Covenant made by You as your children. Even though
your Children received the promise of Promised Land yet children cannot
inherit but need to mature into Sons and it is only through the Spirit one
matures. All before Christ’s sacrifice did not receive your Holy Spirit and
it was only through Christ we now have the promise of the Holy Spirit. We
pray Lord we do not lose our salvation by seeking those extra blessings but
learn to be sober and satisfied with the basics of livelihood that You
provide...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 7:17 But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn
to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

Galatians 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles
through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit
through faith.

Exodus 16:12-18

Numbers 11:31-33
31 And there went forth a wind from Jehovah, and brought quails from the
sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day’s journey on this side, and
a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and about two
cubits above the face of the earth.
32 And the people rose up all that day, and all the night, and all the
next day, and gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten
homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp..
33 While the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the
anger of Jehovah was kindled against the people, and Jehovah smote the
people with a very great plague.

Know your God

John 13: 3 [Jesus], knowing that the Father had given all the things into
his hands, and that he came forth from God, and goeth unto God,

Some of the most confusing statements of Christianity are:-
We do not worship the man Jesus but worship the Lord Jesus Christ.
There is one God; Lord Jesus Christ is the way to God and the Holy Spirit -
the Spirit of the Son who is God leads us along that way.

Leave alone unbelievers, even the most intellectual theologians fail to
truly understand these statements. They write big books but their logic
goes in circles, at times causing more confusions. To understand these one
needs to today’s scripture.

There was a time I was to share the Gospel with an old Muslim man who was
on his death bed (due to advanced stage of cancer). The family were so
orthodox Muslims that the mother and daughter would chant Muslim prayers
and as they chanted they would blow into a bottle of water and close it,
assuming the prayers were trapped in it. This water they would make the
sick man drink daily.

I asked the Lord if I could be instrument for his healing and I did not get
an affirmative answer. Then I asked if I could give him the Gospel so that
he sleeps believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. My biggest problem was
explaining the oneness of the Father, Son and Spirit but if I could only
explain about the Son, I knew the Lord would do the remaining. I had to
remove the concept of Allah from his mind, which had nothing to do with
God. So as I prayed and the Lord put into my mind a solution.

I went the next day taking along a large lump of clay. As I was explaining
I told him to assume the lump was infinite and if I took a small part of
this infinite clay then said what would this part be? He thought and after
a few minutes said it too would be infinite. He immediately understood what
I was trying to explain.

After a few days I came to know he expired but what really touched me is
when his family members told me before he died he prayed to the Lord Jesus
Christ.

Spirit is not that what man understands by the term ghost (spirit of a dead
person). Spirit remains the same within the body or when it leaves a body.
The Hebrew and Greek word for Spirit is simply ‘breathe’. People get taken
back when I explain of beings having multiple spirits within oneself and
about God having eternal (unlimited/ endless) Spirit. They further confuse
with the term like ‘soul’ or ‘inner-man’ which remains connected to the
spirit, even after it exits a human body.

The perfect declaration of faith would be:
I believe God is One, He is Spirit and is Holy. God made man to be light in
the darkness, so when man sinned the humbled part of God became man in due
time to become a sacrifice for our sins; to make peace between God and man,
so that man receives the Spirit of the Son and being led by the Holy Spirit
may be restored, become Sons of God and inherit what God has set for him in
the high places of Heaven. Being part of the Son, spiritually transformed
man becomes one with the Father.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are God. There is none like You and there
never will be. A part of You humbled Himself and became a light in sinful
man so that man would be the light to overcome the darkness he is made to
overcome. We pray Lord we understand You and thus understand the purpose
You created us. You are eternal life and all life comes from You alone,
anything that disassociates from You suffers and perishes...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the
Son also to have life in himself:

Matthew 11:27 All things have been delivered unto me of my Father: and no
one knoweth the Son, save the Father; neither doth any know the Father,
save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal [him].

John 1: 18 No man {being} hath seen God at any time; the only begotten
Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].

Philippians 2:9 Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him
the name which is above every name;

John 17:12 While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast
given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of
perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is],
Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

1 Corinthians 8:6 But to us [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom
[are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are]
all things, and we by him.

Galatians 3:20 Now a mediator is not [a mediator] of one, but God is one.

Ephesians 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by
the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through
all, and in you all.

Renew you mind and your thinking

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually
minded [is] life and peace.

Just a couple of days back I was discussing with a couple of Catholics
relatives of how I gave up my ‘social friends’ / ‘party life’ and prefer
being sober. They immediately said “without ‘friends’ what is the purpose
of your life?”. The moment I said “God did not create us for this purpose?”
Immediately one said “now he will wear his cassock and preach”.

This world programs every mind to think, making friends is important and
there is security in having friends. It tells you maturity is in making
more friends and friends across various sections of life.

I am not against making friends since the Bible also is not against it, but
it warns about close bonds with worldly ‘friends’. People depends on
friends since they do not depend on God. Two unrelated persons are in good
relation for they have something common and that could be even a thought
(thinking). Family relationship cannot be changed but friendship can when
that common things changes. World knows the worse enemy is most likely a
former friend.

Even natural family members can go against us like worldly friends but a
spiritual family will always hold on. Like our natural father and mother
may even forsake us but our Heavenly Father would not.

When people tell me why as a Christian I do not drink alcohol not even
wine, I tell them I am not Catholic but a ‘Believer’ Christian. They then
ask ‘what is the difference?’ I tell them Catholics simply believe in Jesus
while ‘Believer’ Christians follow Him.

Today’s message tells us to renew our minds by renewing our thinking. It
asks us not just to fight temptations but also worldly understandings which
can change the priorities in our lives and take us away from God and our
salvation.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord dwell in the upper Heavens which is a
spirit world. Lord we pray we who dwell in this temporary natural world
which is corrupt, may overcome this world, its thinking and its priorities.
We pray we renew our minds and fight not only temptations but even the
‘reasonable’ worldly understanding which like termites destroys us...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 8:5-10
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but
they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is]
life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject
to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit
of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is
none of his.
10 And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the
Spirit [is] life because of righteousness.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what
fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? or what communion hath light
with darkness?

Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap
corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life
everlasting.

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but
righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Knowing the Father through the Son

John 8:54,55 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it
is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: Yet ye
have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I
shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

In today’s scripture we read Jesus telling the Jews that they do not know
God the Father. What is interesting is this Jesus was not telling just to
the Jews standing before Him but to all beings including their forefathers.
If we see the very next verse it speaks of Abraham seeing the Son (Jesus)
and not the Father. When Jesus told them this they were furious and wanted
to kill Him.

I mentioned before the term Yahweh in Hebrew refers to the Son and not to
the Father. Throughout the Bible the terms ‘Lord’ (in all its variations)
mostly refers to the Son or the Holy Spirit, there are very few verses
(just a handful) where the term ‘Lord’ actually refer to the Father in
Heaven.

I also mentioned before I started word study (studying Hebrew and Greek
words) all because I wanted to understand this. What was even more
surprised me was about the case of the Angels being the same. We call them
an army but does God who is omnipotent need an army? Who is His opponent?
Who can be found to be a worthy opponent for Him that He needs an army?
Firstly who exist that is not created by Him and not of Him? Is He not All
Knowing that the future was hidden from Him to know He would make a
mistake? Satan is an enemy of God’s plans and we (humans) as His plans.
Like God removed man from (upper) Heaven so that corrupt man could be
restored and received back. Similarly Satan (plural – Dragon and the Beast/
King and Prince of Tyrus and their fallen angels) also we removed from
(upper) Heaven so that man could overcome them, inherit that which they
lost and ultimately they receive their punishment in due time.

Bible says the Heavens (all beings of Heaven) and Creation (earth) which we
know are created by the Son, for the Son.

Let us understand no one can know the Father unless the Son reveals Him and
no one can know the God the Son unless His Spirit reveals Him and no one
can receive the Holy Spirit unless they believe in the man Jesus and know
He is God the Son.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You are One God. Lord we pray we understand You more
and more. We pray we understand You are in the Father and Father is in You,
You came from the Father and one day You return to the Father and it is on
that day we shall truly know the Father and be in the Father as You are in
the Father for we will be in You, this even the Angels of Heaven await and
thus call us their fellow associates...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 8:6-59
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw [it], and was
glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast
thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham
was, I am.
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and
went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

John 1:18 No man {being} hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son,
who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].

Matthew 11:27 All things have been delivered unto me of my Father: and no
one knoweth the Son, save the Father; neither doth any know the Father,
save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal [him].

Colossians 1:15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of
all creation;

1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only
God, [be] honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1 John 4:12 No man hath beheld God at any time: if we love one another,
God abideth in us, and his love is perfected in us:

No Condemnation

Romans 8:1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in
Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Many Christians believe if they believe in Christ they are not condemned
for the wrongs they do. These wrongs they believe are not just those which
they did before they came to know and accept Christ but also those which
they do after coming to know and accept Christ. This great misunderstanding
is the cause of many to fall and lose their salvation (enter Heaven). One
of the scriptures they (mis)quote is today verse (Romans 8:1).

People do not read the verse fully nor read the consecutive verses. The
verse clearly says there is no condemnation for those who are led in the
Spirit and not those who dwell in their fleshy desires.

How do we know if we are not condemned? Verse 5 says those who dwell in
fleshy desires do things of the flesh and those after the Spirit do things
of the Spirit. We need to see the things that we do, if they are after the
flesh or after the Spirit. If a person is led by the Spirit then the person
does not enjoy sin and fights it, so soon sin dies in him or her.

If we do not want to stand with those who are going to be condemned let us
overcome the flesh with the help of the Spirit. Let us die to our fleshly
desires so that we are born again in spirit.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are seated in the Upper Heavens where
your glory is concentrated. Near to You only those who are true in spirit
according to your image can dwell, others will perish and be destroyed.
Lord we pray we understand You made us in the flesh so that we overcome the
flesh and be renewed in spirit with the help of your Spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 8:1-5
1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ
Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from
the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,
God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not
after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but
they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

John 3:5-8
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of
water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof,
but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one
that is born of the Spirit.

Did Stephen go to Heaven?

Acts 7:55,56 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly
into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand
of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man
standing on the right hand of God.

We see a dramatic incident happening when Stephen was martyred. Stephen
looks up and sees the man Jesus seated at the right hand of God and he
could see glory filled in Heaven. As the people were killing him, Stephen
says ‘Lord Jesus, receive my spirit’, the moment he says that he falls down
and the scriptures genuinely says ‘he fell asleep’. It does not say he went
to Heaven nor says he was lifted up but says he slept.

If we look at the Prophet Samuel in his case too after he died and when
Saul tries to communicate with him, it is said Samuel’s spirit came up and
Samuel said ‘Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up’. Samuel did say
‘come down’ but ‘bring up’ confirming he had not ascended to Heaven but was
at a level below (asleep).

Even when we see all the other Men of God in OT after they died it is said
they were gathered unto their people. Jesus too Himself when He spoke the
parable of Lazarus and the rich man said Lazarus the good man was in the
bosom of Abraham, He did not says Lazarus was in the bosom of God/ the
Father.

Paul as well as Jesus say on Judgment Day we all will stand before the
Judgment Seat and Jesus the Son of Man will sit and judge the flock both
sheep and goats. Jesus will then separate the sheep from the goats and only
the sheep will enter Heaven while the goats will be put in the Lake of Fire
/ Sulphur. It is symbolically called ‘sulphur’ because of it’s unique
property which causes man to suffer it eternally as it was on the first
day, since otherwise man gets used to pain and suffering over a long period
of time. Thus making Lake of Fire worse than Hell (which is a prison where
man suffers his own sins).

Let us have a clear understanding of Judgment Day, since it is very much
part of our foundation topic. It is a must to know it so as to prevent us
from being misled.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Omnipresent God. There is no place You are not
there and where any being can hid from You. David said even in Hell You are
found. Lord we pray we have a clear understanding of You and your Kingdom
so that we are not deceived of Judgment Day. We pray our foundation be
strong and on founded on the Truth...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 7:57-60
57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran
upon him with one accord,
58 And cast [him] out of the city, and stoned [him]: and the witnesses
laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.
59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon [God], and saying, Lord Jesus,
receive my spirit.
60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this
sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

1 Samuel 28:3-15

Genesis 25:8 And Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an
old man, and full [of years], and was gathered to his people.

Genesis 35:29 And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto
his people, old and full of days: and Esau and Jacob his sons buried him.

Luke 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and that he was
carried away by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: and the rich man also
died, and was buried.

Romans 14:10 But thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? or thou again, why
dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the
judgment-seat of God.

Matthew 25:31-33
31 But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels
with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory:
32 and before him shall be gathered all the nations: and he shall separate
them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats;
33 and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left..

Vest of Jesus

John 19:23,24 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his
garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also [his]
coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. They
said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it,
whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They
parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These
things therefore the soldiers did.

People misinterpret 2 Corinthians 8:9 stating Jesus was worldly rich and
for our sake He became worldly poor so that we could become worldly rich.

In today’s message we read Jesus wore an outer vest (coat) which was
expensive so much so that the soldiers found it insane to tear it even
mockingly and thus cast lots to see who could get it and use it. People
also forget when Jesus was born the wise men (there were not three but many
- Isaiah 60:6) and more important was that each bought all three precious
gifts boxes of gold, and frankincense, and myrrh (it was to acknowledge a
great Emperor). Each of these were expensive gifts, so if they all were put
together Jesus and His (earthly) family would not have had to work for food
or any requirement for the rest of their lives.

What we see is Jesus as man (including His family) had sufficient yet He
never relied on money but always saw the glory of the Father. He gave up
His Heavenly glory so that He could share His glory with us, the riches 2
Corinthians 8:9 speaks of are Heavenly riches.

Today the Lord is asking us, what are we covered in? Worldly glory or
Heavenly glory

Let us not seek worldly riches or glory, it is not that we will lack, God
will met our needs since He is our Provider but if we run after worldly
glory and riches we will loose on Heavenly glory and Heavenly riches.

Yesterday the Lord spoke about our bodies perishing when our spirit/life
leaves it, today He is telling us the riches of this world will also perish
the day His people exit this world.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. Everything is by You and for You. Let Lord You
desire to dwell in simple places like the hearts of man. Lord we pray we
understand the riches of your Kingdom and not fall for the vanity of this
perishable world...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that,
though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his
poverty might be rich.

Matthew 2:11-12
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with
Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had
opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and
frankincense, and myrrh.
12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to
Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Isaiah 60:6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of
Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and
incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.

Following Scriptures

Acts 1:20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be
desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take..

One claim most ‘Christians’ make is that they follow scriptures yet one
find them doing foolish things.

Yesterday we had Catholics celebrating ‘Ash Wednesday’ wherein the ‘priest’
puts ash on their head making a cross and says the words ‘remember you are
dust unto dust you return’. The fools do not realize they say dust / mud
yet put ash. They also do not realize these words were a curse of hell and
damnation which was cancelled by the coming of Christ. Now these fools
speak the curse while making the sign of a cross (which symbolizes victory
over the curse) that too with ash which represented hopelessness!

Many of our so called ‘Believers’ / Protestants celebrate Lent which was a
40 days penance period celebrated by the pagan Romans before ‘Easter’ the
birth of goddess Ashtoreth, it is for this reason it starts with a Carnival
(Carnal Festival). We Christians celebrate Resurrection Sunday & Passover
but not Ash Wednesday, Lent or Easter.

Today’s message we read Peter quotes Psalms (two verses together Psalms
69:25 & Psalms 109:8) which was a prediction of Judas and fulfils it by
getting someone to take the office of Judas among the twelve. Peter did
follow scripture but did it without understanding it.

Peter had no idea why Jesus chose 12 disciples and how it was related to
the 12 sons of Jacob and how Joseph who did not join his brothers to the
Promised Land was substituted by one of his sons. Both the 12 Apostles and
the 12 tribes were just shadow of spiritual things that exist in Heaven. It
was only after Peter’s baptism in the Holy Spirit and years of walking in
Christ led by the Holy Spirit that Peter wrote his letters which if
understood at times beats the spiritual depth which none of the letters of
Paul touch. It is not that Peter may have known more than Paul, for Paul
complained he could not teach solid food to his congregation so wrote only
milk and taught milk. We cannot judge who knew more but we can surely see
Peter change from being a person doing foolish things, being rebuked by
Paul as well as Jesus himself.

It was lack of understanding of scriptures that caused the Jews to reject
Christ as their Savior and do traditions that led to hardening of their
hearts so as to make them a stiffnecked lot.

Let us not be people who keep stumbling, falling and changing only after
testimonies, after testimonies like Peter did. Wisdom can come from
experience or from God. If we seek the wisdom from God we need to abide in
the Lord (do His Will) and seek revelation that comes from the Lord.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are Spirit and desire we your children
worship You in Spirit and Truth. We pray Lord that we live not by sight but
by faith, a faith that is not blind but dwells in the light of the truth...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Psalms 69:25 Let their habitation be desolate; [and] let none dwell in
their tents.

Psalms 109:8 Let his days be few; [and] let another take his office.

Genesis 50:24 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will
surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he
sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

Numbers 26:28 The sons of Joseph after their families [were] Manasseh and
Ephraim.

Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou
return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou [art],
and unto dust shalt thou return.

Psalms 104:29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away
their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

Unwise Nicodemus

John 19:39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus
by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound
[weight].

The scriptures connected to Nicodemus are very commonly used by Christians.
Believers use the term ‘Born-again’ which originates in the
(mis)translation of the English versions (the actual word used in Greek
means ‘born from above’ and not ‘born again’).

In today’s message we read Nicodemus comes to the crucifix after the death
of Jesus and the public leaving to fulfil the customs of the Galilean Jews
who wrapped the body with spice and partly followed the customs (beliefs)
of the Egyptians concerning the dead.

Who was this Nicodemus?

He was a member of the Jewish Sanhedrin (Pharisee, teacher and council
member in Israel). The first mention of him is an emergency (and secret)
call he gave to Jesus right in the middle of the night. Being a teacher of
the law this emergency call was not an ordinary call since he was asking
about what would happen after he dies. Nicodemus would have not made this
emergency call unless he was told or thought he was going to die
immediately. He must have got healed for later he became a disciple of
Jesus although not openly confessing his discipleship. He along with people
like Joseph of Arimathea were well to do in life and in society and were
secret followers of Jesus. In between we see Nicodemus was amongst the
officers of the Chief Priest who came to question Jesus. Nicodemus knowing
scriptures cunningly defended Jesus by stating since Jesus was from
Galilee, He did not qualify to be a Prophet. He loved Jesus very much and
since he was very rich he bought so much myrrh and aloes that could be used
to fulfil as per tradition for 200 bodies.

We see this man was blessed by Jesus therefore although being a Pharisee,
teacher of Jewish laws and high level officer of the Chief Priest yet
believed in Jesus but what Jesus told him did not register in him. Jesus
told him about the importance of change from inside, unless one is not
renewed in spirit one cannot enter the Kingdom of God (go to Heaven). This
man got his earthly blessings and was satisfied for we see he was caught up
with doing the traditions of the Galilean Jews on the death of Jesus. All
his knowledge and devotion was a waste, meaningless.

Let us not be like Nicodemus who love Jesus very much and think by giving
money or doing traditions is sufficient. Had he listened to what Jesus said
he would not have sought to do the traditions of the Jews, he would have
simply wrapped the body in a cloth and kept it in the tomb (like they did
to the Prophets/Men of God in OT) or simply buried it wrapped in cloth.

Let us follow Jesus by following His teachings. Let us not be ‘followers’
like people ‘follow’ on Facebook or Instagram knowing about them and what
they do but no personal relationship.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You are Spirit. Your Kingdom is not of flesh and bone,
nor of material which are worldly. Lord we pray we understand all what
remains of us is our spirit and what we do in molding it, if we have made
efforts in molding it into your image then we will be considered to enter
Heaven. Lord we pray we work more on the inside than on the outside...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 3:1-6
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that
thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that
thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he
enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of
water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit.

John 3:7-21

John 7:45-52
45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they
said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
47 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
50 Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one
of them,)
51 Doth our law judge [any] man, before it hear him, and know what he
doeth?
52 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and
look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

The Stiff-necked

John 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they
should not see with [their] eyes, nor understand with [their] heart, and be
converted, and I should heal them.

In the Bible although the Lord called Israelites ‘His people’ yet they were
also called ‘Stiff-necked’ people who did not obey Him nor kept His Law.
Yes they did many things in the name of the Lord but all they did was
contrary to that which the Lord ask of them. They did this only because
they did not understand the Lord’s instructions, and today’s message says
the Lord did not help them to understand. He did this because they were a
stiff-necked lot.

The word stiff-necked means ‘hard to neck’ a term used for an oxen which is
hard to guide or control when plowing. If we get into the Hebrew words
(compound word) it means ‘hard - to break’ so simple means a soul that
resists the Lord and does not want to change. If we read scriptures this
word is also stated as ‘stubborn’ or ‘uncircumcised’ in cross-reference
verses.

When we minister we do come across people who talk great thinks and show
they have lots of knowledge but are hard to understand simple things. They
seem to not able to relate one thing to another which we can easy see it.
Yesterday we read about Nicodemus who did not understand the term ‘Born
from above’ although he was highly educated in scriptures.

God did not give up on all stiff-necked, the very first humans who sinned
were removed access from Garden of Eden so that they were not consumed
before the presence of the glory of God (which is greater in the Upper
Heavens) since they were corrupt. God gives time to stiff-necked people to
change through the problems they experience. He does it for our good since
our hearts are not right. If a potter tries to mold a vessel that is hard
he will only break it. The clay of the vessel needs to be wet and moldable
for the potter to bring it into the shape he desires.

Note no one can blame another for misleading in ministry. We follow people
according to that what we seek. If that person speaks things our heart
desires we follow him or her. To follow Christ we need to desire the Lord
and free ourselves of the things that go against His Kingdom, we cannot
desire both. Nicodemus desired Christ but also desired riches and fame thus
was hard to understand.

Previously when I got revelations from the Lord I would immediately share
with others or tell them ‘the Lord spoke to me’ and they would give me
nasty looks, some would bluntly say to my face ‘does God only talk to you’.
Later as I matured I stopped using these terms for I know I would only
harden these stiff-necked people.

The more we surrender to the Will of God we will find the Lord revealing
more and more of His Kingdom to us. It is not in big things that the Lord
looks for our surrender but in the little things which are importance to
Him. So let us not harden our hearts to become a stiff-necked people whom
the Lord makes us spiritually deaf and blind, and consumes them in His
wrath.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are omnipresent and omnipotent, nothing
is hidden from You. Lord we pray we give importance to the little areas
where we resist You and your Will. We pray we do not become a stiff-necked
people like those who came out of Egypt and perished, they saw your glory
but lost in become part-takers of your glory...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Exodus 33:3 Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up
in the midst of thee; for thou [art] a stiffnecked people: lest I consume
thee in the way.

Deuteronomy 9:6 Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee
not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou [art] a
stiffnecked people.

2 Chronicles 36:13 And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who
had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his
heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.

Jeremiah 17:23 But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made
their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.

John 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that
they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

Isaiah 29:10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep
sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers
hath he covered.

Matthew 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing
see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

Matthew 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if
the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

What are we seeking?

Hebrews 11:39,40 And these all, having had witness borne to them through
their faith, received not the promise, God having provided some better
thing concerning us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.

Yesterday I was preaching in a Church and had to give bitter medicine
message of the dangers of worldly riches or desires of this world.
Initially the response was not very good so much so that the Pastor had to
add a few words after I finished.

People do not like when they are asked to sacrifice their worldly desires
for things which they cannot see or understand fully.

Initially when I came to know the Lord I started sacrificing my worldly
life only because of my love for the Lord, but as I came to understand more
of His Kingdom then it made no sense to seek worldly desires. Seeking
worldly desires is like doing art on sand not knowing when it will be
destroyed to nothing.

Today’s message tells us that we are privileged to be those whom the Lord
has chosen, to not only see this vanity but also to be perfected in Him.

When we look at all the other people that exist in this world, who seek
vanity, we can only thank God for not being among them who are spiritually
blind. We can thank the Lord for seeing something in us so as to make us
complete and perfect us in Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Merciful God. Even when we were enemies of your
Kingdom You Father saw something in us so as to save us from vanity. You
Lord gave us an opportunity to have life that is in abundance and eternal.
We thank You Father for your mercies...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
James 1:10-11
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the
grass he shall pass away.
11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth
the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of
it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

1 Peter 1:24 For all flesh [is] as grass, and all the glory of man as the
flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 3 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Post  Admin on Sun 03 Mar 2019, 11:23 pm

Who has ascended to Heaven?

1 Peter 3:22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God;
angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

In India among Hindus when a person dies is addressed as ‘Swargiya’ which
translates as ‘Heavenly’, they never call a person as ‘Nargiya’ as in ‘Hell
dwelling’. That means all who die go to Heaven and Hell is empty. What is
funny further is that Hindus believe in Karma incarnation ‘Chakra’ (meaning
cycle) that means people who die come back transformed as another living
being ranging from insects, to animals, to birds or human beings depending
on the good works they did in their previous life time. Those who did
exceptional well (or fulfilled rituals) are given freedom from this karma
incarnation cycle and their spirit disintegrates into the universal
force/spirit (in other words spiritual death). So Heaven and Hell holds no
true standing in Hinduism, yet when a person dies we see they place the
body on the pyre in a specific direction before burning it so that the soul
goes to Heaven (at times via Hell)!

Catholicism also have a confused understanding of the various levels of
life existence by bringing in Purgatory a place where souls which do not go
to Hell but suffer punishment for those little sins so as to later enter
Heaven. Purgatory became a money spinner for the Catholic Church since they
ask Catholic to offer masses, offerings and paid prayers for the souls of
their departed ones so that they receive favor and get to enter Heaven.
Most of this coming from pagan Roman/Greek mythological believes.

Coming to Believers here too there is no clear understanding and every
Pastor or Preacher will have a varying understanding of the levels of
existence like Hell, Grave and Heaven(s). The Hebrew word for Heaven comes
from the root word which means ‘lofty’ or to be above. Bible uses both the
term Heaven and Heavens (meaning multiple levels).

Before like others I too believed ‘good’ Christians die and ascend to
Heaven. I later got confused when I read scriptures like Proverbs 30:4,
John 3:13 or Acts 2:34 (which speaks of David yet not ascended to Heaven!).
Now if David has not ascended how it is that others ascend to Heaven after
death? How are people getting ‘death and life’ experiences of Heaven and
Hell visitations?

Paul clearly says we ‘shall enter’ Heaven and ‘we will all stand before the
Judgment Throne on Judgment Day’ confirming what Jesus spoke in John
5:25-29 or Matthew 25:31-33, the same is also written in OT in many places.
Where most get confused is in understanding the 1000years of rule of Christ
which they think is an earthly rule where Christ will sit on an earthly
Throne ruling worldly countries.

What we generally call as Heaven are all the levels above us. It is almost
impossible to understand the various levels of existence from scriptures
unless the Lord reveals them. Paul too spoke about his vision which was so
real it got him confused, where he ascended to the top 3 levels of Heaven.
It is only when the Lord reveals the Heavens that one starts to see them
clearly in scriptures and thus understand the various beings of Heaven and
the glory of God. Also complicated scriptures like Elijah taken ‘up’ in a
chariot of fire and coming a John the Baptist becomes easy to understand.

Let us get our understanding proper for this is one of the points Paul
states as part of our foundation as Christians (Hebrews 6:1-2). One can
only be a confused Christian if one’s foundation is no strong.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God. Your abode is the Upper Heavens although You are
omnipresent and there is no place where You are not present. Even in Hell
one cannot be away from You. Lord we pray people do not make You into a man
and the Heavens as earthly pleasure resorts like Muslims have done. We pray
we understand the Spirit world better for it is reality and our world just
a delusion awaiting its disintegration...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host
of them.

Proverbs 30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath
gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who
hath established all the ends of the earth? what [is] his name, and what
[is] his son’s name, if thou canst tell?

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down
from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven.

Acts 2:29 Men [and] brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the
patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with
us unto this day.

Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith
himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Romans 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise,
Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring
Christ down [from above]Smile

Ephesians 4:9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended
first into the lower parts of the earth?

Ephesians 4:10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far
above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

John 5:25-29
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when
the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall
live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to
have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is
the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are
in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection
of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Matthew 25:31-33

Daniel 7:13-14

Revelation 20

Hebrews 6:1-2
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on
unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead
works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of
resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Playing the division game

Mark 14:70 And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by
said again to Peter, Surely thou art [one] of them: for thou art a
Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth [thereto].

Although we have almost all of the Bible perfectly preserved even though we
have lots of spelling or grammatical errors yet we have some scriptures
which are textual variants meaning vary in different manuscripts (in only
one place we find major addition that is in John 8:3-11 the story of
attempted stoning of an adulterous woman).

Today’s message has one such textual variant. The latter part of the
scripture ‘and thy speech agreeth [thereto]’ is found in some translation
and missing in others, it is because they refer to different sets of
manuscripts.

A few days back (25th Feb) my message titled ‘Sin, Curse and Sickness’ I
had pointed out the approaches to study scriptural variants and confirm
what is authentic. If we use the same approach in today’s message we
confirm the reason why newer translations are omitting this latter part of
the verse.

A Galilean varied from other Jews by their traditions and not by their
speech. They had the same ascent or style of speaking. So we find a
deceptive mind that tried to create difference between Galilean and other
Jews in our understanding by adding these few words.

Today the Lord is telling us are we playing this evil game by creating
divisions between Christians because of their place of origin, color,
gender, their way of talking, their language or lifestyle?

Bible says all people are equal in the eyes of God and all are the same
irrespective of their race, color, gender, looks or upbringing. God is
Spirit and He looks at our spirit and its beauty, other things have
insignificant relevance.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Righteous and Loving Father. You Father are non-partial and
love all alike. You Lord see only the hearts of people and all worldly
factors are irrelevant to You. We pray Lord we too learn to be more like
You. We pray we do not differentiate between our brethren and fall victim
to the evil deceit...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for
the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor
free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Who do you fellowship with?

1 Corinthians 2:6,7 We speak wisdom, however, among them that are
fullgrown: yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world,
who are coming to nought: but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, [even]
the [wisdom] that hath been hidden, which God foreordained before the
worlds unto our glory:

In my initial days of coming to know Christ I used to run to any place
where I would get to understand the Word, any preaching or ministry. Slowly
as the Lord Himself started teaching me and building me, my problems
actually started. Previously I could talk to people about the Word of God
freely for I knew less and I was in receiving mode so there was no
conflict, or I knew that which they knew so we built each other like iron
sharpens iron (Antonym - we spoke and spoke but did not build anyone). But
when I started receiving revelation I found I used to spiritually shake
people up and at times harm them more than built them. So I started to
learn what to share and what not to (depending on their receiving capacity)..

Fellowship does not mean socializing. The Greek word comes from the root
meaning to partake and should be with a person with some common level of
spiritual maturity. With the state of understanding of the Bible being so
pitiful, as a Teacher it is very difficult for me to find someone to
fellowship with. I do fellowship with those with other Callings so as to be
built in that area. The last time I felt down spiritually I had to
‘withdraw in the groove’ for the Lord to nourish me.

Fellowshipping is key in one’s spiritual life, after study of the Word,
fellowshipping is most important and takes a place above prayers and even
‘breaking of bread’ (seeking forgiveness of sins). Our fellowship has to be
a chain format and is done with someone who is more mature than us. So one
gives but receives from another. We receive in the various areas which we
operate from and which we do not operate from (Callings) since we are
called to do all things in Christ although we may specialize in a specific
Calling. We are not called to vomit whatever we have within us but share as
much the opposite person can receive, keeping in mind we are to build one
another and not sharpen like iron does to iron (just make activity without
any uplifting).

[Prayer Starter]
Father God You alone are perfect, You alone are Holy God. Yet You Lord
fellowship with us so as to build us and make us more and more like You.
You Lord do not reveal everything in one go but give as much we can
receive. Lord help us to understand the importance of fellowshipping and
learn how to fellowship so that we edify each other...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and
fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:
for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what
communion hath light with darkness?

1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye
also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the
Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Following Christianity but not a Christian

Romans 9:31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath
not attained to the law of righteousness.

In today’s message we read Paul stating the Israelites who are called
‘God’s people’ did lots of things which were religious yet were far from
God. The traditions they did may seem to be as per what the Lord said but
when we study what the Bible (OT is what they followed) says we find a
great gap between their understanding of scriptures and what the scriptures
say.

About a month back I saw foreign tourist couple looking for a cab. Since we
were going in the same direction I offered them a lift. On the way I came
to know the woman was a former Jew who now believed in Christ (as well as
other gods - she was inquiring with me about Hinduism). She knew Hebrew (to
some level since all Jews are required to study scriptures) so I asked her
a few things in the Bible as to how they did they not understand such
simple things and she did nothing but smile.

The Jews are a small population compared to other countries yet they are
known for their intelligence and have won more international awards than
most large nations. Yet when we see their understanding of scriptures, one
wonders how they could be such a foolish lot? Everyone talks of all the
enemies that surround them but do not realize their greatest enemy is
themselves, their intelligence which they use against God, to resist Him.

We Christians are not far from being a foolish lot for what we do, many
times is far from what the Word of God tells us to do. We think we know a
lot of scriptures but reality is we hardly follow it. This I do not state
only for the common congregation which only attend ‘Church’ but even those
who minister to them as Pastors and spiritual guides.

Yesterday we saw Bible says not to call any human a ‘spiritual father’ or
‘spiritual mother’ yet we see many including very famous Preachers state
XYZ person is/was their ‘spiritual father’. What is funny is these same
people point fingers at Catholics who call their Priest as ‘fathers’ not
seeing they too do the same mistake.

We can be Christians only if we follow Christ, that does not mean just the
NT but also the OT for it too is Word of the invisible Christ which the
Patriarchs followed.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Wonderful God who is full of Wisdom. We who are your children
seem to lack wisdom and therefore fall prey to vanity. Lord we pray we do
not rely on our worldly wisdom but pray and ask You for wisdom, a wisdom
that comes for You and reveals the Truth. We pray we do not be false
Christians (goats) but we true Christians (sheep) who will enter the Gates
of Heaven on Judgment Day and inherit that which You have set for us...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 6:30-41, 47-60

Acts 7:51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always
resist the Holy Spirit: as your fathers did, so do ye.

Exodus 32:9 And Jehovah said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and,
behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

2 Chronicles 30:8 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were; but
yield yourselves unto Jehovah, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath
sanctified for ever, and serve Jehovah your God, that his fierce anger may
turn away from you.

Colossians 1:15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of
all creation;

Hebrews 11:24-27
24 By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of
Pharaoh’s daughter;
25 choosing rather to be evil entreated with the people of God, than to
enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 accounting the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of
Egypt: for he looked unto the recompense of reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he
endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Spiritual Children

Hebrews 2:13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I
and the children which God hath given me.

Yesterday I mentioned an OT Prophet (Nabi / Man of God – includes other
Callings) is a person who represents God to the people, he or she is a
spokesman/spokeswoman of God. The Priest on the other hand is a person who
represents the people to God. He or she performs the duties God has given
to the people and interacts on behalf of the people. Peter states each one
of us who are baptized in Christ and His Spirit are called to be Priest
which means we stand for the people before the Lord thus Believers do not
have human Priest over them for they themselves are Priests.

As Priest does it mean we represent all mankind? NO

Today’s message (Paul supposedly) speaks of ‘the children which God has
given’. So we all are given a harvest and are accountable for the harvest
given for they are our spiritual children. We are responsible for their
spiritual growth like we are responsible for our natural children. It is
not necessary our natural children will also be our spiritual children.

We see Believers mistakenly think Pastors are Priests, a title or a
Calling. The word Pastor is not an English word but is a Greek word
imported into English without translation. The word ‘Pastor’ means
‘shepherd’ and refers to anyone who ministers (spiritual matters). So
everyone who is in ministry is a Pastor. Every Pastor has spiritual
children but that does not make him or her a spiritual father or mother to
those whom he or she is ministering. Pastoring is a temporary assignment
and as Pastor one has to ultimately hand over the person to the Holy Spirit
like how Jesus did to the twelve He was accountable for (it was through the
twelve symbolizing twelve Fruits of the Spirit, He reached out to the whole
world).

‘Spiritual father’ or ‘spiritual mother’ is not a biblical term but a pagan
term usually used by Catholics and mistakenly used by even Believers. In
the Catholic Church the ones called as ‘fathers’ are actually elders who
are given permission to do priestly duties by the Bishop who is the
official Priest. The Pope who is referred to as ‘holy father’ is also a
Bishop but being the Bishop of Rome which is a key place for the Catholic
Church is considered as chief over all other Bishops thus is selected by
the Cardinals who represent groups of Bishops.

Biblically Bishop is a Calling which Paul put as Administrator and means
‘overseer’. One can also be an Administrator as an Office that is why Paul
gave instructions to Timothy on how to select one who desires to be one.
This can be understood by understanding the fact that both gold and silver
vessels were considered holy in the OT Tabernacle.

We as Believer Church have let in lots of Catholic and Jewish Church
practices which the Lord referred to as Nicolaitian beliefs and which He
states as He hates. The word Nicolas means ‘conqueror / destroyer of the
people’.

Let us follow Biblical teaching with understanding and do all things
according to the Lord’s Kingdom.

[Prayer Starter]
Father God, You alone are God and You alone are Spiritual Father unto all.
Jesus said not to call any person a Spiritual Father other than You. Lord
we pray we understand we may be natural fathers yet are just spiritual
shepherds unto our children. We pray we do not try to take your place in
the lives of those whom we minister thereby spiritually destroying them...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a
people for [God’s] own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies
of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

1 Peter 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto
the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

Revelation 2:6, 14, 15
6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which
I also hate.
14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that
hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock
before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to
commit fornication.
15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which
thing I hate.

Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your
Father, [even] he who is in heaven.

Matthew 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your [ultimate]
teacher, and all ye are brethren.

Casting of lots

Acts 1:26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias;
and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

In the Bible when God did not speak directly or clearly through the
Prophets or Priest we see they chose mysterious ways to do things like
casting of lots. At times God Himself told them to cast lots.

As per Jewish tradition to fulfill Leviticus 16:8 the Priest had a vessel
which they call "Kalphi," set in the court, into which two lots, which were
made of wood, or stone, or metal, were put; the one had written on it, for
Jehovah, and on the other was written, "for the scapegoat"; the two goats
being, the one at the right hand of the priest, and the other at the left;
the priest shook the vessel, and with his two hands took out the two lots,
and laid the lots on the two goats; the right on that which was at his
right hand, and the left on that which was at his left; and so the goat
which had the lot put upon him, on which was written, "for the Lord," was
killed; and that which had the other lot, on which was written, for the
scapegoat, was presented alive;

Moses too used casting lots method to select the 70 the Lord told him to
out of the 72. Talmud [Jewish understanding of scriptures/law] state “Moses
took seventy two papers, and on seventy of them he wrote, זקן, "an elder";
and upon two, חלק, "a part"; and he chose six out of every tribe, and there
were seventy two; he said unto them, take your papers out of the vessel; he
into whose hand came up "an elder" (i.e. the paper on which it was so
written) he was sanctified (or set apart to the office); and he, in whose
hand came up "a part" (the paper that had that on it), to him he said, the
Lord does not delight in thee.”

In today’s world we would call this taking a toss. People would consider it
luck, but for a Christian who knows God is in control has no term called
‘luck’ for nothing happens by chance. Casting of lots were done prayerfully
keeping in mind ultimately God has the say.

Like the Prophets is considered a spokesperson of the Lord to the people
similarly the Priest [meaning minister] is considered a spokesperson of the
people to the Lord and thus makes offering and stands before the Lord on
behalf of the people. Part of the Priest’s dress was the Judgment
Breastplate which carried the two objects called Urim and the Thummim
meaning light (symbolizing truth) and perfection. So we see either of the
choice was not bad but both the choices were good in the eyes of the Lord.
What is important was the result was perfect according to the Lord.

Today the choice of Matthias was like the goat selected for Jehovah
(sacrificed in Leviticus) while Joseph named Barsabas was the ‘scapegoat’
(set free to live a public life). Today the Lord is telling us servicing
Him requires one to be the sacrificial goat, to sacrifice one’s personal
life completely for the Lord giving up all personal desires.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You are Living God who never sleeps or takes a
day off from caring for your people. Lord we pray know the importance of
serving You and the personal sacrifice required when we are called to
serve...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Leviticus 16:8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for
the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.

Joshua 18:10 And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD: and
there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to
their divisions.

1 Samuel 14:41-42
41 Therefore Saul said unto the LORD God of Israel, Give a perfect [lot].
And Saul and Jonathan were taken: but the people escaped.
42 And Saul said, Cast [lots] between me and Jonathan my son. And Jonathan
was taken.

1 Chronicles 24:5 Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another;
for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors [of the house] of God,
were of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.

Jonah 1:7 And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast
lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil [is] upon us. So they cast
lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.

Exodus 24:1 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and
Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship
ye afar off.

Exodus 28:30 And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim
and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron’s heart, when he goeth in
before Jehovah: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel
upon his heart before Jehovah continually.

Righteous shall not fear

Psalms 112:8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, Until he see
[his desire] upon his adversaries. [ASV]

Today’s verse is from Psalms 112 which speaks of the righteous. When I read
today’s verse I could not agree with the translation I checked other
translations they too like the [ASV]. I found only [Message] translation a
little different

Psalms 112:8 Spirit firm, unperturbed, Ever blessed, relaxed among
enemies, [Message]

When I looked up the Hebrew word translated as until is the world
when/because of (while). So the scripture talks of the righteous being at
rest and not intimated by his or her enemy.

Let us ask ourselves are we people who get intimated and go into long
prayer and fasting when we behold the enemy or are we like the righteous
who are not disturbed, who will sing and worship the Lord even in problems.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Righteous Holy and Truth. You Lord desire we who are your
children also follow righteousness, holiness and seek the truth. Bible says
your eyes are on the righteous and your hand is over them. Today Lord You
remind us that those who seek righteousness need not fear looking at the
enemy for they know You are their shield and protection. May we Lord be
seekers of righteousness and never fall into intimidation of the enemy...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Psalms 112:6-8
6 For he shall never be moved; The righteous shall be had in everlasting
remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: His heart is fixed, trusting in
Jehovah.
8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, Until he see [his
desire] upon his adversaries.

Luke 12:4-6
4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body,
and after that have no more that they can do.
5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he
hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is
forgotten before God?2:

Psalms 115:11 Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he [is] their help
and their shield

Right perception of scriptures

Philippians 1:7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all,
because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the
defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

Today’s message we read of Paul writing from prison to the Believers of
Philippi, a Roman colony in Macedonia. Here the apostle was directed by a
vision, to go and preach the Gospel; and which was succeeded, to the
conversion of Lydia, and the jailer, and their families; which laid the
foundation of a Gospel church in this place, to whom this epistle is
written. Like this epistle so also most of Paul’s epistles were written
from prison.

What is interesting is when people quote scriptures from Paul’s epistle and
show them in a different light without taking in account from what
situation Paul wrote it. So a scripture like ‘I can do all things in Christ
who enables me’ or ‘He became poor so that we would be rich’ take another
rendering when pictured of a man in bonds writing it, Paul did not talk of
worldly riches, of worldly prosperity or of doing well in society but of
overcoming struggle and of spiritual matters.

Some of the greatest heresy that is consuming ‘Christians’ and making them
into goats instead of sheep is idol worship (‘Man of God’ replacing God),
Penance, Prosperity Gospel... These are not restricted to the Jewish or
Catholic Church but also active in the Believer Churches. More and more
Believer Churches are infiltrated with these heretic teachings and beliefs.
If one analysis all TV Preachers minutely 99.5% of them do this. We cannot
blame them alone for misleading us since if we ourselves had taken the
trouble to study scriptures we would not fall prey to heresy. All want fast
food, junk food, short teachings that tell them what they know. I am
keeping this message very short so that they at least read this and repent,
brining change in their lives.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You are Spirit and your Kingdom is not of this
world. Lord we pray we get it into ourselves that we need to die to this
world and its desires to dwell in your Kingdom. We pray Lord we desire less
things of this world and seek more and more spiritual things that edify us
and those given unto us...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me..

2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that,
though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his
poverty might be rich.

James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of
this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised
to them that love him?

Matthew 19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you,
That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom
were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be
delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Luke 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed
[be ye] poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

The Passover and Unleavened Bread

Mark 14:14,15 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the
house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the
passover with my disciples? And he will shew you a large upper room
furnished [and] prepared: there make ready for us.

The Passover of the OT as we all know was a shadow of the crucifixion of
Christ and His sacrifice(s) as the (Paschal) Lamb of God that saves the
World. The identifying of a lamb without blemish, keeping it under
observation for 5 days, on the fifth day evening at sunset sacrificing it
without breaking any of its bones and then applying the blood of the
Paschal Lamb on the outer side of the door post was all fulfilled in Jesus
Christ, also fulfilled was He becoming our peace sacrifice that was lifted
up on the next day of Sabbath by His resurrection on the third day.

In the OT the week after the Passover week was the Feast of the Unleavened
Bread. The unleavened bread is first mentioned in Genesis where Lots offers
it to his guests (the Angels who came as men). The very next mention of it
is to do with the Passover where the Paschal lamb is eaten with bitter
herbs and unleavened bread.

Leavened or yeast is a microscopic single cellular organism smaller than an
animal or plant cell so is neither of them and has their own
classification. Yeast is used in baking and brewing because they metabolize
simple sugar and release carbon dioxide and alcohol. It is the tiny pockets
of carbon dioxide which cause the dough to rise and the alcohol to make
grape juice into wine. Yeast symbolize worldly wisdom / understanding.
Worldly wisdom may seem good but in reality it breaks good things into
useless and intoxicating things. Leaven kept in the house (not only used)
was enough to put out of the community [loose inheritance].

God forbade yeast in all sacrifice concerning Him (spiritual) and allowed
in limited quantity only in one sacrifice that concerned (worldly) man. So
worldly wisdom and understanding (education) is not forbidden but simply
not to be used to understand the Kingdom of God.

During the time of exile of Israel in Babylon since they did not have the
privilege to celebrate long festivals they celebrated both the Passover
week and the Unleavened Bread week together. This custom continued during
the time of Jesus. Mark, Matthew and Luke being documenters or history
wrote of this in their Gospels as it was, while in the Gospel of John it is
written as per OT directive.

Jesus being the Paschal Lamb celebrated it with the start of the Passover
week before He was arrested. The bread that we break at the Lord’s Table is
supposed to be unleavened bread but as we do with the Word we do with the
bread; that is adding our worldly wisdom. The unleavened bread at the
Lord’s Table is called the ‘daily sacrifice’ since it symbolizes sacrifice
of guilt - forgiveness of sins committed unknowingly. It is for this reason
breaking it without dealing with known sins is mocking of the sacrifice and
can provoke the wrath of God.

The Catholic Church [little horn of Daniel] in 1200AD replaced the
unleavened bread with wafer and the Believer Church with leavened bread.
Some Churches use baked bread in oil (like Indian roti) instead of
unleavened bread. If we read OT there were four types of breads in the
basket kept before the Lord these were leavened bread, bread cooked with
oil, wafer and unleavened bread. So unleavened bread cannot be confused or
replaced by any of the other three breads.

Bible prophesied about the daily sacrifice been taken away for large period
and is fulfilled both in shadow with the Israelites and also with the new
Church of Christ [by the little horn]. Now the time has come for the daily
sacrifice to return and people to break unleavened bread instead of wafer,
leavened bread and bread baked in oil, not only in symbolism but also in
understanding knowing of its dangers if misused or abused.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Wonderful. You also are Merciful and full of
Wisdom. In your own wisdom You Lord commanded your people to follow
statutes so that the hidden may be exposed. Lord we pray we no longer
behave like foolish worldly people using worldly wisdom to things
concerning You and your Kingdom. We pray for your forgiveness and for
courage to do things with all understanding as per your command...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

11 Yea, he magnified [himself] even to the prince of the host, and by him

12 And an host was given [him] against the daily [sacrifice] by reason of

shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Words of this life

Acts 5:20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of
this life.

The book of Genesis is considered the start of the Bible even though the
book of Job is older than it. The reason is that Genesis starts with the
sentence ‘In the beginning God created the heaven and earth (does not speak
about the planet by nations – beings since nothing natural existed)’. It
takes into account God existed and that He created everything that exist.
We assume this sentence as generic and the term nations or beings speaks of
humans but that is not the true. Yesterday we were told by Paul scriptures
are specific and clear.

The second and third sentence is key to us and important to know our
mission. It speaks of nations being without form, about darkness existing
and God speaking of light to come to existence. If we take this sentence
literal then we are assuming, God who is light was existing in darkness.

Darkness is defined as obstruction of light. This darkness in verse 2
refers to the fall of Lucifer and of resisting the plans of God. So when
God created man the only thing that was bad or evil was Lucifer and his lot
since all things that God created He called them good. Thus when man ate of
the Tree of Good and Bad (Doubt) the bad / evil he wanted to know which
only God (Son) knew was Lucifer.

Bible says we are called to be the light and in the end after Lucifer, the
Beast and other fallen angels (the one third) are judged Bible records the
transformed man becoming part of the Heavenly Temple which is light itself
for it has no Sun of Moon.

Bible is all about when darkness came God created man to be the light in
the darkness and overcome the darkness. It is all about man who was created
lower than the Angels being lifted up and inheriting that which was lost by
the fallen ones. Although the Bible focuses on us yet it is not just about
us for the Angels too call themselves our ‘fellow servants’.. The Angels
although are mightier than us yet we are the main actors of this story of
light overcoming darkness.

In Ezekiel God declared to the king and prince of Tyrus (Dragon and Beast –
the two Cherubs) that it would be man who will crush their heads and be
their destruction. It is this knowledge that causes Satan (plural –
includes the fallen cherubs and angels) to hate man to their core.

Let us understand the importance of the Word of God which the Angels refer
to as Word of this life. Let us also understand our importance in this
battle of darkness and light, and how by the Word and Spirit of God we
overcome the darkness and become inheritors of Heavenly things hidden to
almost all.

[Prayer Starter]
Father God You are God and there is none like You. A part of You created
all things knowing that darkness would come to existence. You also created
man to become the light that overcomes this darkness and thus all things be
lifted to greater glory. You God are Life and everything the lives grows.
You God grow from glory to glory and we thank You for making us man who is
like mere insects to be part of your glory. We thank You Lord for this Word
of life...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Genesis 1:1-3
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the
face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Genesis 2:15-17
15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to
dress it and to keep it.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden
thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat
of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Genesis 3:4,5,14,15
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall
be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this,
thou [art] cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field;
upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy
life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed
and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Ezekiel 28:6-10, 17-19

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the
world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the
light of life.

Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in
the Lord: walk as children of light:

1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of
the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

Revelation 21:22-23
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are
the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in
it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb [is] the light
thereof.

Hibernation in the brook

Titus 3:12 When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to
come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.

These last few days as northern countries faced a cold wave with minus
temperatures hitting new records, we heard of crocodiles found frozen in
ice with their nostrils popping out of the ice. These animals were not dead
but in hibernation mode. They had allowed themselves to be literally frozen
(reduced their body temperature) but kept their nostrils out so that they
could breathe and remain alive.

Hibernation is a natural phenomenon God made for the survival of animals in
extreme cold climates. We know creation is made in an image of spiritual
things which are invisible to man.

In the OT we read when a person had leprosy (which was a skin disease and
skin symbolizing righteousness) the person was isolated from society until
the situation improved. We sadly do not learn these basic principles of
spiritual management of Men of God from the Bible. What we do is when a Man
of God is found struggling he or she is moved from one activity to another,
or from one place (Church) to another. Bible advises us when we have
spiritual issue like fighting with lusts, desires or spiritual productivity
we are called to draw back and hibernate in the brook (not literal place).
The Hebrew word for brook means to possess or inherit. It is a place of
receiving spiritually which freezing most natural activities.

When Elijah had fear filled in him and fled from the Queen Jezebel, the
Lord asked him to hide himself in the brook of Cherith for a period and
there the Lord provided him water from running streams (symbolizing
spiritual refreshment) to drink, He also provided him meat by ravens
(symbolizing wisdom that is worldly). It was this same fearful Elijah who
was rejuvenated and later openly challenged the prophets of Jezebel to a
spiritual duel.

Here we read Paul asking the help of Titus and sending persons to bring him
so that Titus could minister to him during a time when outdoor activity was
restricted.

Let us know when to draw back and rejuvenate our spirits when things are
low or not going good for us. We should always know when to draw ourselves
to a brook and be refreshed by the Lord. We need not be newcomers but can
be people spiritually mature yet would need rejuvenation like Paul did in
today’s message. Let us not try to help God in His Kingdom’s work. He does
not need our help let us remember when we do His work [good deeds] we are
helping ourselves.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord do not desire a worldly sacrifice but
sacrifice of a heart that loves your law and seeks your glory. Lord we pray
we do not deceive ourselves with doing ‘Lord’s Work’ while seeking our own
glory. We pray we learn to spiritually hibernate in your brook and be
rejuvenated in spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Kings 17:1-6
1 And Elijah the Tishbite, [who was] of the inhabitants of Gilead, said
unto Ahab, [As] the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there
shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
2 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook
Cherith, that [is] before Jordan.
4 And it shall be, [that] thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have
commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
5 So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and
dwelt by the brook Cherith, that [is] before Jordan.
6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and
flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

2 Corinthians 8:23 Whether [any do enquire] of Titus, [he is] my partner
and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren [be enquired of, they are]
the messengers of the churches, [and] the glory of Christ.

2 Corinthians 7:6 Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast
down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

Church Ministry or Lord’s Ministry

John 12:43 For they loved the praise {approval} of men more than the praise
{approval} of God.

Just yesterday late evening I was discussing with a brother about the state
of our ministry (ministries). When I told him people are doing ‘Church’
Ministry and not the Lord’s Ministry, he immediately did not accept it. As
we further discussed he accepted the fact almost all are doing ‘Church’
ministry.

In my many years in the Lord I thank God for giving me opportunity to
connect with many ministries, large and small, at various levels. This
experience allowed to have an insight of what really happens amongst them
and why these ministries are not fruitful.

The start of this year was like an alarm bell for me to wake up and
reorganize my personal spiritual life. I hope others too will wake up, stop
what they are doing and approach things in another way.

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about good deeds and (worldly) righteous
deeds, how wary only by the intention of doing them even though many a
times the act may be identical. It is time we ask ourselves the root
question ‘Why am I in Ministry?’, if we say ‘to save souls for Christ’,
then let us ask ourselves how fruitful are we? If we are not seeing any
fruit then we need to pray and ask God for guidance.

Let us not fool ourselves by quoting unrelated scriptures like one sowed,
another watered and another harvest. They are all true, but they all saw
the harvest. Are we seeing any harvest?

It is so sad when we have events where lakhs attend and not a handful
become disciples for Christ, almost all become disciples of the preacher /
worship leader who is seeking the praise and glory of man.

Today’s message says about people who seeking praise / approval of man more
than seeking that of God. Are we amongst these or are we seeking the Lord
and His approval?

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God who is omnipresent as well omnipotent, all
knowing and merciful. It is only in your mercy You bear us and the nonsense
we do taking your name. Lord know You cherish your Name and will not let it
be blasphemed. We pray we wake up to what we are doing and look at its
fruitfulness. Let us not seek the praise of men but seek that of God...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 5:44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and
seek not the honour that [cometh] from God only?

Matthew 6:2 Therefore when thou doest [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet
before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets,
that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their
reward.

Matthew 23:5-7
5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their
phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the
synagogues,
7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves
before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed
among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Parents Guardians accountability of children

Colossians 3:21 Fathers, provoke not your children [to anger], lest they be
discouraged.

In Hindu’s rituals during the marriage of the daughter the father does
‘kanyadan’ where the father gives away the daughter to the groom. In
‘Christian’ (Catholic but also followed by many Believers) marriages too we
see this tradition where the father escorts the daughter in the ‘church’
and hands her unto the groom. I read in yesterday’s newspaper an Indian
Hindu father refused to do kanyadan, he stated his daughter was not his
property to give away.

Bible says we were all created from the foundation of creation and that is
why God knows us since then. We are naturally born in the wombs of our
mother (only Eve was born out of Adam) but were given unto the loins of our
fathers before we were conceived. It is for this reason it is the father
who is blessed for the generations to receive blessings. Even though mother
has a great hand in molding of the natural character of a child yet it is
the father who is key for spiritual blessings and curses that flows unto
the children. It is also for this reason Jesus to be born without blemish
had to be born in the womb of a virgin and Mary being a sinner did not
affect the child. The mother’s blessings and curses (including hereditary
sicknesses) flows via the father unto the children when they come together
(mating is not just a natural coming together).

If we technically see Mary being the mother of Jesus was yet not His real
mother but just His surrogate mother, thus Jesus in anger addressed her as
‘woman’. Paul too wrote about this relationship in Hebrews and people
mistake Melchisedec as the one born without a father or mother and without
genealogy.

Once a person dies and resurrects on Judgment day he or she is a
transformed spirit being void of natural gender (like Angels who are called
Sons of God) and has no natural relationship with any earthly beings
although his or her testimony in Christ does continue to be upheld. So in
Heaven we will not be family to anyone but all will be only one family with
God as our Father.

Let us get it into us as earthly parents we are guardians to our children
and that too assigned by the Lord so we are answerable to Him about their
wellbeing like Pastors are for their congregation (whom they minister).
Although those to whom Pastors minister become their spiritual children yet
they do not spiritual fathers or mothers unto them (they substitute the
Lord and thus need to ultimately hand them over like Jesus did unto the
Holy Spirit). Spiritually we have only one father and that is our Heavenly
Father and we are brethren unto each other (no mother, sister, daughter or
any other relationship).

Today’s message is a warning not only to natural guardians but also to
spiritual guardians about bringing those in your custody to anger. The
problem is not the anger but the problem that when in anger the person
easily falls prey to sin. It is only by the mercy (grace) that we are kept
from sinning but this mercy cannot be taken for granted, the moment we fail
to hold that which is required to receive grace we will fall and sin.

When Jesus Himself as man gave account for those whom the Father gave Him,
how can we who minister think we will not be accountable for those whom we
minister? If Preachers understand this there will be less preaching and
more discipleships happening. There will more true Christians and less name
sake ‘Christians’.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are Father. We Lord who are your children
are simply brethren to each other. Lord we pray we understand our spiritual
and natural relationship and the responsibility we hold. We pray for those
who minister that they understand the dangers of losing their spiritual
children...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Genesis 35:11 And God said unto him, I [am] God Almighty: be fruitful and
multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings
shall come out of thy loins;

Exodus 1:5 And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were
seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt [already].

Deuteronomy 5:9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them:
for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the
fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them
that hate me,

John 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine
hour is not yet come.

Hebrews 6:20; 7:3
20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, [even] Jesus, made an high
priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither
beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God;
abideth a priest continually.

Philippians 2:5-8
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with
God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a
servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became
obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in
marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your
wrath:

Revelation 22:9 Then saith he unto me, See [thou do it] not: for I am thy
fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the
sayings of this book: worship God.

Matthew 23:9 And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your
Father, which is in heaven.

No one is special in God’s Kingdom

Galatians 2:6 And from those who seemed to be influential (what they were
makes no difference to me; God shows no partiality) - those, I say, who
seemed influential added nothing to me.

There is always the notion that some of the anointed Preachers, Pastors and
those on stages are specially loved by the Lord. This is a big
misunderstanding. John the Apostle called himself as one ‘whom Jesus loved’
but never denied Jesus loved others too like Lazarus and his sisters, Mary
the Magdalene, John the Baptist, etc...

Let us understand each and every one who is in Christ or called to be in
Christ is loved as passionately by the God as any famous Preacher all are
equal in His eyes.

Today’s message is from the letter of Paul who declares that God shows no
partiality (God is not a respecter of man), He does not differentiate His
love from one man to another. He does give each one differently as
according to the plans He has for them (that depends on their heart state)
but given less or more before His eyes all are same. What is interesting is
as much the Father loved Jesus Christ the same love He has for us.

Today God is telling us He is not a human father, for Him you are very
precious and His love is as strong as it is for any other human that was,
is or will be including Abraham, Moses, David, Paul etc. so let us not be
saddened or lose heart by events of this world but cherish our God and His
love and let us not belittle any one in Christ.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You God who are seated above in the Heavens look
at us mere man and love us so much even though we are unworthy of anything.
Lord we thank You for your love and the importance You give each one of
us...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 11:5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

John 13:23 Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples,
whom Jesus loved.

John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as
I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

John 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in
my love.
