Ask, Seek, Knock

Luke 11: 9And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and
ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

We always have referred to this scripture or used this scripture very
often but then how many times have we given real thought to it. The
verse says ask and we shall receive, if we can receive by just asking
then why seek and why change our position to go to a door and knock on it?

We need to understand, how can we ask for something if we do not know
what we need to ask. So seek is for something that we are not clear of,
thinks like knowledge, understanding of God or His Kingdom are things
which we need to seek. We cannot say Lord give me knowledge, give me
understanding and then accept Lord to give it unto us, we need to seek it.

To knock on a door we need change our current position and to go to the
door, we cannot expect a house to come to us, we need to go to the door
of that house and knock on it; the Lord assures us that the door will be
opened unto us. So things which do not change like Kingdom of God, the
Lord, the Word of God, salvation, Lord's favor are some things we need
to enter into, so we need change our position and to go unto it and
knock on it and it will be opened unto us i.e. taking water baptism is
like taking the step of change, going unto the door of salvation and
knocking on the door, we know God will surely open the door, do we doubt
that after taking water baptism God will not accept us and save us from
Hell? Opening the Bible and reading diligently is also like knocking and
God gives us more of His Spirit of Truth.

Today's scripture tells us things that can come to us we can ask / pray
for like healing, grace, wisdom etc.., things that we do not know fully
but know it exist we seek and things like which we need to go to or walk
into we need change ourselves, knock on its door and that door will be
opened unto us. So let us not ask for things we do not know or we need
to change for, we need to seek them or go unto its door and knock.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are God and You alone are God for there is none other than You.
Lord we ask for You and seek You thus do not know You. Lord the work
does not know You and your Word says when we seek You, You reveal
yourself unto us. You, Lord desire change thus by our being born again
we take the step of change and knock on your door Kingdom and You open
Heaven unto us. Lord we pray we know what to ask, what to seek and what
we need change and knock on unto...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

James 1:5But if any man among you is without wisdom, let him make his
request to God, who gives freely to all without an unkind word, and it
will be given to him.

Deuteronomy 4:29But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God [the
knowledge - to know Him], thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all
thy heart and with all thy soul.

2 Chronicles 7:14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal
their land.

The Great Divide

Luke 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf
fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither
can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

It is sad when I hear great preachers and so called theologians have
very little knowledge of Heavenly things. They have something like a
fairytale understanding of Heaven, Hell and Creation as a whole. When I
hear about visitations to Heaven and Hell, I do not know to get angry or
cry out of pity to their ignorance. At every funeral it saddens me more
to hear the preaching than the passing away of the person. People have
never given importance to Biblical study of the Heavens.

When we use the term Heavens people think of a place up above where God
is sitting on a human throne like a human in a large palace and Angels
in form of humans but having wings surround Him. They then imagine the
palace to be made of gold with precious gems all over the place.

When the term Heavens (plural) is used it speaks of the various levels
of Creation (Heavenly and our). The glory of God is experienced in the
Upper 3 levels of Heaven which Paul in his vision called as third /
three Heavens. We exist in the 5th level and below us are 2 levels
(Grave & Hell), Hell being the last level (it is a prison and not a
place controlled by Satan). When it is said 'UP' does not mean
physically up but means a higher level and these levels as separated
according to righteousness. The Bible also uses the term east /left
(lower) and west /right (higher).

In Genesis 2, 3 scripture talks of two gardens one where Adam was made
and exiled to when he sinned and this garden was to the eastward of
Eden. When Adam had not sinned he had access to the garden of Eden. To
prevent him from entering the Lord puts a fiery sword and Cherub to the
east of Eden yet says 'everyway'.

Jesus in today's parable stated when Lazarus the poor man died and went
to the bosom of Abraham and the rich man went to Hell. People think
bosom of Abraham is Heaven / bosom of God.

When Samuel the great Man of God died and his spirit was called by woman
practicing divination, we read Samuel stating he was in a place of rest
and not Heaven for he questions the woman as to why she bought him UP.
If we read all the Patriarchs like Abraham, Moses, David etc. when they
died it is written they were gathered unto their fathers / slept. In
Acts Peter confirms that David has yet not ascended to Heaven.

Even in the NT when a mighty Man of God like Stephen was martyred it is
written although he said 'Lord receive my spirit' yet the last word says
'he slept'. In the book of Romans Paul too talks of us (Believers) as
being raised on the Judgment day and all (together) standing before the
Lord to give an account to Him. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus says we
His flock will all be raised on Judgment Day to be judged and will be
separated as sheep and goats, with the sheep on the right hand and goats
on the left. The sheep will enter Heaven but the goats will see eternal
punishment. Again the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus again says on Judgment
Day many will say unto Him Lord, Lord and will claim of all the wonders
they have done, but Jesus will deny them entry to Heaven for they did
not do the basic Will of the Father. In the Gospel of John when the
thief who was crucified with Jesus says to remember him when He comes in
glory, Jesus says surely on THAT DAY (not 'today' as translated in
English translations) he will surely be in Paradise. Revelation too
talks of all standing before the Judgment Throne.

Today's scripture talks of the separation between the certain levels of
Heavens and one cannot move from one level to another. It is only via
righteousness that we can claim hold to a level of Heaven. Christians do
not realize it is not all about going to Heaven but also about where in
Heaven we are going to dwell eternally. If we want to dwell on the
highest level, where the glory of God is most concentrated (near to the
Throne) than we need work harder today for after we die there is nothing
we or anyone can do.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Holy God and scripture says when we enter Heaven You will
dwell with us as one. Lord we pray man understands the things that are
set for him so that he prepares his life here while he still can...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

24So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of
Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the

Island of Lame

Acts 27:16 [NAS] And running under the shelter of a small island called
Clauda, we were scarcely able to get the ship's boat under control.

Today's scripture in NAS is translated as 'running under the shelter'
and in many other translations as 'running under the lee', it also talks
of great difficulty they faced in anchoring a small boat.

The port at the Island called Clauda during summer was a very
confortable port but during winter it was a challenge to anchor here.
The ship carrying Paul had to anchor far from the Island and they had to
use small boats to get to the Island to protect themselves from a great
storm.

The name Clauda means lame. If we read scriptures like the case when
king David took over Jerusalem he called it Zion meaning walled city
even though there were no walls around it. What is interesting is he did
not allow the blind or lame to enter the city, he smiteth / killed them.
We may think it to be inhuman but it symbolized spiritually blind [those
who ignore the importance of the knowledge and understanding of God's
Kingdom] and spiritually lames [people unwilling to do the Lord work,
what He commissioned us to do] will not enter the Kingdom of God /
Heavenly Jerusalem [city of praise].

In the Bible day symbols grace so children of light / day are children
under grace. Scriptures like 'do not let the sun set on your anger'
means get over any anger one has before the grace runs out [when one
does wrong one uses up grace like a vehicle uses fuel].

Today's scripture may seem very simple, as recording an activity but it
tells us something very profound. It says when the grace runs out or is
low then those who are not spiritually active, not doing the Lord's work
will face great destruction in times of challenges. The other is also
true meaning those who do the Lord's work will always be provided; they
will enjoy the goodness and protection of His Kingdom.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are a Righteous and Holy God. You are Merciful and full of Love
but yet You do not compromise in your principle because of your
Righteousness and Holiness. You Lord work in us and change us so that we
may enter your Kingdom and dwell in your presence. Lord we pray we
understand the importance of studying and having the right understanding
of your Kingdom. Lord we also pray that each of us understands doing the
work of your Kingdom is not helping You but for our good, for it enables
us to know the Truth and also receive the abundance of your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Acts 27:14-19

14But after no long time there beat down from it a tempestuous wind,
which is called Euraquilo:

15and when the ship was caught, and could not face the wind, we gave way
to it, and were driven.

16And running under the lee of a small island called Cauda, we were
able, with difficulty, to secure the boat:

17and when they had hoisted it up, they used helps, under-girding the
ship; and, fearing lest they should be cast upon the Syrtis, they
lowered the gear, and so were driven.

18And as we labored exceedingly with the storm, the next day they began
to throw the the freight overboard;

19and the third day they cast out with their own hands the tackling of
the ship.

2 Samuel 5:7-8

7Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city
of David.

8And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and
smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of
David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The
blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

Ephesians 4:26Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on
your anger.

1 Thessalonians 5:5For you are all children of light, children of the
day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.

Deuteronomy 15:21But if it has any blemish, if it is lame or blind or
has any serious blemish whatever, you shall not sacrifice it to the LORD
your God.

Died on the Crucifix for the sake of the Cross

1 Corinthians 1: 18For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish
foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Whenever the word Cross is taken people think of the crucifix. They
think of the wooden object on which Jesus was crucified. They think of
the suffering of Jesus as He died on it. They think of the people
mourning around it.

Paul in today's scripture talks of his sole purpose of preaching the
Cross and how when he preaches it, the wise of the world consider it
foolish and how this foolishness according to them saves us.

In yesterday's scripture we saw the importance of the role of the Holy
Spirit in our salvation but how does that relate it to the Cross which
saves us?

When Jesus said if we are His disciples and need to go where He is
taking us then we need to take up [hold up/elevate/lift] our Cross and
come after Him. The condition He gave is first to deny one's self. We do
not see any Apostle carrying any crucifix; secondly we do not read any
Apostle preaching much on the suffering of Jesus on His death. They all
preached the resurrected Jesus Christ and how He is working in them
through the Holy Spirit. Unbelievers also usually point out to the fact
that Jesus did not carry His own crucifix so why are we called to carry one.

If we go into historical records during the time of Jesus crucifixion it
was a normal practice by the Romans to deliver the death sentence. They
had permanent crucifixes [not made of wood] on which they hung people
unto their death, it was an annual event. On that day all the permanent
crucifixes [there were more than 2] were occupied so Jesus had to be
crucified on a make shift crucifix. That is why we read only of Jesus'
crucifix being carried. It was not part of the punishment therefore they
got someone else [Simon of Cyrene] to carry it.

When I tell people 'Jesus died on the crucifix for the sake of the
Cross' they get taken aback. They do not realize the term Cross has
deeper meaning physically it does mean the crucifix but the Greek word
comes from root word which means 'cause' or 'stand'. So the crucifix was
part of the Cross of Jesus but is not part of our Cross. The mission
given to us by Jesus is part of our Cross.

We see people think suffering is the Cross which we are called to carry.
Foolishly Catholic Priests and even Popes who suffered terrible sickness
bore then thinking it was the Cross which Jesus Christ called us to carry.

As Christians sickness is not something that is to be part of us. It is
our lack of faith or the Lord working in us that causes sickness in us.
We have authority to drive away sicknesses, weaknesses along with evil
spirits, so as our faith grows no sickness how so ever serious can stay.

Persecution is something that is part of our Christian life until the
Lord comes in glory. The world hates us and tries its best to fail us in
our mission so persecutes us, but we being affected by this persecution
is not necessary. As we grow in the Lord we will be less affected by it
for the Lord says He will set a banquet for us before our enemies and
even make our enemies to bless us.

When Jesus told Simon Peter you are a pebble but on the Rock I will
build my Church and nothing will stand against it. Jesus told Simon you
are incompetent yet you will be used to be part of a formidable,
indestructible Church.

We as seen by the world may be unworthy beings full of defects or
weaknesses but the Lord using us to bless the nations is what baffles
the minds of people and that is the Power of God which is the working of
the Holy Spirit.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God. If You wanted You Lord would manifest your
glory and open the eyes of all the people to the Truth. But You Lord
desire a circumcised heart therefore You use us to read the Truth unto
the people, You make us the vessel to bring salvation unto your people.
We pray we carry this Cross and grow spiritual so that the Holy Spirit
makes it light as a feather for us to bear...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Matthew 16:24Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come
after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Matthew 27:31-32

31And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him,
and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

32And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him
they compelled to bear his cross.

Matthew 11:28-30

28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest.

29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in
heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

1 Thessalonians 1:5For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but
also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know
what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

Only through His Spirit

Ephesians 2:22In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of
God through the Spirit.

To test people if they are truly Christians and have a sound basic
understanding of the Word of God, I ask them the question 'why did Jesus
die on the crucifix and become our sacrifice?'

The prompt answer would be 'for the forgiveness of our sins', some may
add also 'that we may be set free from sicknesses and curses' but all
will say one thing that is to 'save us'. How? They do not know. For
Bible clearly says one cannot suffer another's sins, even son cannot do
that of his father or vice versa. Secondly I tell them even after
accepting Christ and our baptism in Him we are not free of sin for we
yet sin. How can we as sinners enter Heaven? Is not Heaven a Holy place?

If we read 1 Corinthians 15:3 it says Christ died for our sins and then
when we read 1 John 2:2 it includes the sins of the whole world, but we
know all are not saved. We know only those who believe in Him are saved.

We can understand this from the books of Moses. When the Israelites
sinned and the wrath of God was so much that He was going to consume
them, Moses stood between the Lord and the people. Had Moses not stood
in between then that would have been the end of Israel. But we also see
God did punish them later and they all died in the wilderness leaving
for two Joshua and Caleb, men of faith. In the same way Jesus stood
between God and the whole world and here too all do not enter the
Promised Land except those of faith. Another condition like in the OT it
was only because they were led by the pillar of cloud and fire that they
could enter the Promised Land so also only those who are led by the Holy
Spirit will enter the Kingdom of God, the true Promised Land.

Jesus is our High Priest, our sacrifice and also our payment. In the OT
payment [like in the form of life of an animal] was one of the modes of
reconciliation. In the OT although a sacrifice was done after a person
was forgiven, Jesus by faith became our sacrifice in advance. He also as
a High Priest performed the sacrifice.

We are forgiven of our sins not that Jesus suffered each and every sin
of ours but by Him fulfilling the Law of penalty He removed us out of
the list of debtors /guilty thus we do not go to the prison Hell where a
person suffers ones sins and perishes after their spirit life term, but
then it does not mean we go to Heaven. Like in the OT we need to be led
by the Holy Spirit to enter the Promised Land.

It is the Holy Spirit who transforms us from within making us a new
spirit being (born again) and thus makes us qualified to enter the
Kingdom of God. What is interesting is that we individually are not made
perfect but collectively are make perfect.

If we read the last verse in Hebrew 11 (our prior message - how much
suffering is enough) we read even those who were martyred before Christ
await us for their perfection. We all are going to enter the Promised
Land as one when the Lord Jesus Christ comes again as Son of Man.
Although He became The Way it is His Spirit who becomes the Helper who
takes is along the Way. It is only through His Spirit as mentioned in
today's scripture we are made qualified and perfected to enter the
Promised Land.

Jesus as Son of Man never lifted Himself up other than as our sacrifice.
He always lifted the Father and the Name of the Father [given unto Him].
No human is worthy of being lifted up but even though Jesus was worthy
He did not lift Himself up. We all will be lifted up along with the Son
of Man Jesus Christ that is when we enter the Kingdom of God as the
Bride of the Lord to be one with the Lord.

The most important aspect of Jesus' sacrifice is that He made peace
between us and the Father so that we receive His Spirit and by His
Spirit we enter the Kingdom of God. So let us not ignore the importance
of the Holy Spirit and the importance of surrendering to Him.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are a Holy and Righteous God. Holiness, Righteousness and Truth
are the foundations of your Kingdom.

John 3:14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so
must the Son of man be lifted up:

John 12:32-33

32And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

33This he said, signifying what death he should die.

John 8:28Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of
man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself;
but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

Hebrew 2:17-18

17Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his
brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things
pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

18For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to
succour them that are tempted.

Hebrews 13:12Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people
with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

Leviticus 16:27And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for
the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the
holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn
in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.

1 Corinthians 15:3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I
also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the
scriptures;

1 John 2:2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours
only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Hebrew 11:39-40

39And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received
not the promise:

40God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us
should not be made perfect.

The Love of God

Titus 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward
man appeared,

In the last message we received, the Lord asked us to remember His
resurrection more than His Passion of the Cross that is His suffering
and death. But when we come near to Resurrection Sunday all we see
people do is talk of His crucifixion and His death. We also see many
have 40 days lent, penances, fasting, grieving and other things like
which the pagans did before Easter (birth of pagan goddess Ashtoreth).
They actually belittle God and make His sacrifice to nothing in their lives.

When we talk of the love of Jesus Christ again the first think they
would talk of is His suffering, His pain, His crucifixion. Like I
pointed out before due to the distortion of dates and events we are
aware of only a fraction of the actual suffering He went through, yet
these things did not make me cry as much as the other factors like why
Jesus wept in the Garden of Gethsemane, or the fact He loved us even
before we loved Him or the fact He became our sacrifice before the
foundation of creation.

If God wanted He could have had a detailed record given of His suffering
as our Paschal Lamb but He did not for that is not love. Many people
come to Christ by the fact that He suffered on the Cross and died for us
but few of these turn into true Christians (disciples), most remain as
just Believers. He was physically and brutally tortured for 5 days
unlike 1 day that people think. Yet do we think if those 5 days would
have been 10 days then would we have accepted Him more? How much more
suffering could have been sufficient for the eyes of all mankind to
acknowledge Him as Lord?

Worldly man sees love only when it is emotionally / physically displayed
that is why we have things romance or sex considered as love.

Today's scripture talks of the love of God which existed from the
beginning, but this love appeared later to mankind. His crucifixion was
a public display of His love but was not even a minute fraction of His
love. It is only when we truly know who God is, Christ, why God created
us and what awaits us then only we would know His love for us.

God is love does not mean love rules over every other aspects of God. In
Heaven the Heavenly beings do not proclaim the Lord as Love, Love, Love,
but proclaim Him as Holy, Holy, Holy.

Let us understand love not as romance, affection, lust or compassion but
let us know it as the Lord put is in the Bible. It is true when Paul
said it is more difficult to know the love of God than to know the
knowledge or other things (accessible to man) of His Kingdom; not that
love is greater, but the only reason being all these things only when
put together lets us to truly understand His love. The first commandment
itself asks us to love God with all our soul, all our strength (not
physical) and all our understanding. So unless all do not come together
love is incomplete.

The Jews were called to only celebrate the Passover for they did not
know Christ. We Christians are called to remember the Passover but are
called to celebrate Resurrection Sunday. We are children of the living,
so as children of the light so let us celebrate light.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord God You are our Creator. People who do not know You think You
existed in darkness before You said 'let there be light'. Lord we pray
your people know You and know what love truly is. We pray let they do
not be led by emotions or natural desires but by truth and understanding
which leads us to truly understand your love. Let them not sit in light
and look at darkness but let them look at greater light...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Matthew 5:46For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do
not even the publicans the same?

Luke 10:27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with
all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and
with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

John 10:17Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life,
that I might take it again.

John 14:23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will
keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him,
and make our abode with him.

Romans 5:5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed
abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.

1 Corinthians 8:3But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

Revelation 4:8And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him;
and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night,
saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is
to come.

The Resurrected Christ

Colossians 4:10 Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus,
sister's son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he
come unto you, receive him;)

In today's message we read about Paul giving instructions to the
Colossian Church to receive Mark (Marcus - the writer of the Gospel
according to Mark) who was the nephew of Barnabas.

To understand the background of this instruction one needs to read Acts
15:37-41. There was a sharp dispute between Paul and Barnabas. Both were
Men of God having great passion for the Lord's work but yet we see a
dispute landed between them. This dispute was so serious that it caused
a split between these two very close associates. Neither prison nor
persecution nor threats nor problems could separate them but this mater
did.

What was the dispute?

We see the background of the dispute was Mark the nephew of Barnabas.
Barnabas wanted to take Mark with them but Paul objected. Paul had no
personal agenda against Mark but a righteous one.

If we look Mark did something which was unforgivable according to Paul
and this caused Paul to break his connections with Mark. Paul was so
adamant that Mark correct his mistake but Mark had no interest to do it.
Barnabas instead of correcting Mark let personal relationship get in
between. For Paul neither family relationship nor personal relations
should interfere in the Lord's work. Paul kept it above all things.

What was the mistake of Mark?

We see Mark was commissioned by the Apostles to write the Gospel and he
did not complete it. He ended the Gospel with the crucifixion and death
of Jesus Christ, with people finding the tomb empty and the stone that
covered the tomb being rolled away. The Gospel of Mark ended at Mark
16:8. It was someone (probably appointed by Paul) who wrote verses 9-20.
Paul was so upset with this that not only he disconnected his
relationship with Mark but also those who supported him. He went to the
extent of telling the Churches to keep away from Mark. In today's
message we see a reconciliation and Paul reaccepting Mark into the fold
and telling the Churches to welcome him.

We see today all talk of the death and suffering of Christ. They talk of
His death on the crucifix. We need to understand things like Paul did,
the death of Christ on the crucifix is of zero value and even all that
suffering added also is of zero value UNLESS we talk of His resurrection
and the witnessing of His resurrection.

Sadly Christianity today is identified by the crucified Christ. We see
all wear crucifixes as a symbol of Christianity, we become like Mark and
not like Paul.

The Lord is telling us to be like Paul, we may preach the crucified
Jesus but let not the crucified Jesus Christ be our symbol, we need to
make the resurrected Jesus Christ our symbol. Let us not look at Good
Friday or Good Thursday but let us look at Resurrection Sunday. The Lord
has done the work, why are we redoing it? Let us preach the finished
works of Christ.

We see in scriptures what disturbed other people was not the death of
Jesus Christ but the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are a Living God, God of the living not of the dead. You Lord
gave us life, near You is life and far from You is death. Lord we pray
we let life be our symbol and not death. We know You became man and died
for us but we must more over remember You conquered death in our lives
by your resurrection. Today we are set free from the curse of Hell by
our faith in your death and resurrection. Lord we pray we let freedom be
our symbol not our bondage...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Acts 15:37-41

37And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

38But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from
them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

39And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed
asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto
Cyprus;

40And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren
unto the grace of God.

41And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

Mark 16

Acts 1:22Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he
was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of
his resurrection.

Acts 4:2Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through
Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

Acts 17:32And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some
mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

Romans 1:3-4

3Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of
David according to the flesh;

4And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit
of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

The Spiritual Staircase

2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our
Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through
grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good word and
work. [ASV]

Due to restrictions in the English language we have lots of
misunderstanding in translations i.e. ancient Greek had 7 tenses
compared to English language which has 3 basic tenses (further
segregated into 12). Let us take one tense in Greek the tense Aorist
which in ancient Greek was a combination of past, present and future
tenses together. In modern Greek it is known as perfect present or even
narrow band present tense.

When we read verbs in aorist tenses we may think eternity since it is
past, present and future together. Like when we read the word eternal we
think it is without start or without end but when we read eternal life
in the Bible we like to read it as without end and coolly omit the
without start concept since we know only God and the Son have life
without start.

In today message the word 'eternal' is used and the Greek word is
Aionios and it comes from the root word 'Aion' which means 'without
break'. If we look at the meaning it would mean a continuous long period
without break. In the whole NT the word eternal in its true rendering
[Greek word Aidios having the root 'aei' meaning 'always'] is used only
once in Romans 1:20 with regards to the Godhead. In the OT the word
'eternal' in English occurs twice of the 439 times in the Hebrew text,
the other times it is translated as ancient, ever, long duration,
perpetual, times, more etc.

Today's message talks of eternal comfort and hope which means a comfort
and hope which is not wavy or having breaks. This comfort and hope is
until end of our natural lives since hope is needed till the result day
(after results day no one needs hope of a good result). The word 'good
hope' also means new faith because when we hold on strongly to the pure
/ good hope it becomes faith.

The Lord is telling us the continuous comfort and good hope (faith) is
given to us through grace and we know grace comes through faith. So if
we have faith, we will have grace and if we have grace we will also have
the comfort and with it will come new faith. This is not a circle but
more a spiral for the new faith is over our faith and thus an increase.
This increased faith takes us to greater height and thus to greater
grace and greater comforts. Note as we grow we will face lesser problems
since our comfort also grows.

The Lord is also telling us this spiritual growth is established on good
word and good work (works of faith and not works of righteousness). So
as we grow in our knowledge of the Word and also grow in our doings of
the Lord's work [our Great Commission], our faith will increase and we
climb this spiral spiritual staircase which will leads us into becoming
Sons of God (mature in the Lord).

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Awesome God and there is none majestic as You. You are
perfect and yet You have concern for man who is corrupt. Lord You gave
your Word which is Word of Life for man to know the path to You and
shine in your glory. You also came as man and became an example for us.
Lord we pray we imitate You and live not a selfish life but a selfless
life...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Romans 1:20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the
world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made,
even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the
everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee;
and shall say, Destroy them.

Isaiah 60:15 Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man
went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many
generations.

Ephesians 2:8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Living on Milk

1 Corinthians 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for
hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

We know milk is one of the most wonderful foods and has all the
nutrients for a baby to grow but as the baby starts to grow, it needs
more than milk. Imagine an infant that lives only on milk, we know its
body will not develop and the child will not survive any sickness or
medical problems it faces. It will not walk, run or do much physical
activities.

WHO recommends a child to be breast fed for 6-8 months and then up to
9-11 months of age it be given finely chopped or mashed food that is
easy to digest. When the child is of 1 year of age it can be given family
food, starting with it being mashed or finely chopped. We see food
changes as per the age of the child and the development of its teeth and
bones.

In the natural the child grows (unless has medical problems) even if it
is fed little unlike spiritually a person's development is solely
dependent on what it eats and how it exercises itself.

The Lord gave us the Great Commission not because He needs our help, but
one of the main reasons of doing it is that we start to develop our
spiritual bodies. We need to understand when we go out and minister unto
others one of the main persons we minister to is our own selves.

I remember a day I made excuses and did not go to one of the Bible
classes I conduct regularly and the Lord gave me a message that He did
not need me and I was not doing Him a favor, I was doing myself a favor
by doing the Work of His Kingdom (I had got this message before and
though it was for the class but later, after I cancelled I read it
properly).

Doing work in the Kingdom of God is like working in a gym. We minister
to others but the main person being ministered is ourselves. We do not
change people God does, He make us an instrument to receive and the
persons mainly receiving is our own selves. Our growing from milk
consuming babies to mature sons is totally lacking because we do not do
the Great Commission. We think the work is a burden we carry for others
and not a spiritual gym. As we workout spiritually we will grow in
discernment our spiritual teeth, so we start to eat solid food.

I see people so much talk of the Epistles or the Gospels as having solid
food and I feel so sad for them. In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke
and the Epistles neither Jesus, Paul, John, James, Jude or anyone else,
spoke or wrote anything that is solid. They fed only milk or mashed
food. If one needs solid food one needs to study the OT or the Gospel of
John (which is both milk as well true solid food, the book of Revelation
is somewhat solid for it is already mashed quite a bit, therefore called
revelation).

Our churches are filled with spiritual infants, many who are still
connected to the Pastor or the one who ministers to them with umbilical
cords (Prayer cords). Anything asked, any problem, the solution is
prayer not exercising faith or authority. Sometimes we need to let go of
the ones we minister for long like we leave the hands of our infants who
try to walk. We need to trust God to handle them and not trying to be
gods unto them.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God. You call us children but Heaven is no place
for children for only Sons inherit the Kingdom. You Lord gave us your
Spirit so that we grow spiritually and transform into spiritual Sons. We
pray we understand doing the work of your Kingdom is not doing You a
favor but is about doing ourselves a favor. Let us look at the people
You give us as spiritual dumbbells and not as burdens. We pray we grow
teeth of discernment so that we consume solid food...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

1 Corinthians 3:1-3

1And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as
unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not
able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and
strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Matthew 13:10-11

10And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them
in parables?

11He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know
the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Hebrews 5:11-14

11Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye
are dull of hearing.

12For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one
teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and
are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

13For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of
righteousness: for he is a babe.

14But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who
by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

John 16:12I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear
them now.

The Great Lie

2 Thessalonians 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction
from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Many Christians are deceived by the fact that by just believing in Jesus
Christ they will go to Heaven. It is true without believing in Jesus
Christ one cannot go to Heaven but that is just a part of the
requirement to go to Heaven; it is like having a passport. But with just
a passport one cannot enter a country, one needs a VISA.

Jesus said one needs to be 'born from above' (translated as born-again)
to enter the Kingdom of God, that is the reason He paid the price so
that we receive His Spirit. It is His Spirit who transforms our
spirit-man into a new being. It is only by our baptism in Christ (not
just dipping in water but truly believing) and our baptism in the Holy
Spirit (being led by the Holy Spirit) that enables us to go to Heaven.
It is Jesus who lets us know the Will of the Father and it is the Holy
Spirit who enables us to fulfill / obey the Will.

Today's message talks of two categories of people who see everlasting
(very, very long, of thousands of years) punishment, one is those who do
not know God and those who know the Gospel / accepted the Gospel but
have not obeyed it.

We all have heard the Great Commission and that great commission is not
for a few but to all those who are disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.
People who do not do the Great Commission live a Great Lie, a lie that
they will go to Heaven. We may reach out to a few or to great masses but
dong the commission is very important. We may be one of the many who
work on those souls and may not be the sole person or the one who does
the finishing task, but we are called to do our part. We are called to
be answerable for the souls which the Lord has given us.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord do not need man for the task of
saving souls yet You ask man to be party to this work. You do it so that
man would be transformed by understanding the Truth and may overcome the
darkness. We pray Lord we do not look at the work of your Kingdom as an
option but a necessity like we breathe, drink water or eat food to live.
It is the understanding of the Truth that sets us free...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

2 Thessalonians 1:8-10

8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that
obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of
the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in
all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in
that day.

John 3:3,5

3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

1 Peter 1:22-25

22Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the
Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another
with a pure heart fervently:

23Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by
the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

24For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of
grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

25But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which
by the gospel is preached unto you.

Matthew 7:21-23

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in
heaven.

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done
many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me,
ye that work iniquity.

John 8:32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Relationship with others

1 Timothy 5:1,2 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the
younger men as brethren; The elder women as mothers; the younger as
sisters, with all purity.

In India one thing I like is the way in normal situations people give
respect to elders especially in their communication. They will address them
as a relative calling the 'Uncles' and 'Aunts'. They even use the plural
noun as mark of respect for an elder. The Hindus go to the extreme to adore
them as gods by touching their feet for blessings. They will not only touch
the feet of their elders but also the feet of youngsters who have taken the
religious path. One may think this as absurd, but when one studies Hindu
theology then one will understand this. It has to do with them believing
Hindus (especially the high caste) are already divine, so they do not need
salvation; it is their karma (works) that lifts them or takes them
spiritually to higher positions. Elders are by default given the benefit of
having more experience hence more karma, thus are higher gods.

Today's scripture on relationship starts with the word 'rebuke', 'rebuke
not an elder' does not mean just not to shout or speak harshly, it also
means not to strike or attack physically an elder. Today's scripture goes
on to say treat elder man 'as a father'. It does not mean make them or
substitute them as our natural fathers but treat them as we treat their
father, the same love and respect. With an elder woman it says to treat
them as our mother. Same applies here, not to make them our mothers but to
treat them as our mothers.

Catholics treat Mary as their mother because Jesus said it, by this
scripture every elder woman becomes their mother since Paul has asked them
to do so. So they should be addressing every elder woman and 'Mother' and
man as their 'Father' even after they are death, unless they think Paul was
a heretic and should not be followed. This is the absurdness of their
understanding.

In today's message it also asks us to treat the younger ones as our
brothers and sisters. It goes on to emphasize all these relationships
should be done with 'all purity'.

We need to understand every person who has the good (uncorrupt) seeds of
the (9) Fruits of the Holy Spirit is a 'Child of God' and those who have
heard the Gospel, believed in it, that means watered the seed of faith and
have bought forth the Fruit of Faith are called 'Believers'; and those who
have walked in way of Christ, which means brought forth the other seeds
also into Fruits of the Holy Spirit are called 'Christians'. When all the
seeds within us are bought forth into Fruits of the Holy Spirit we are
called 'Sons of God'.

As Christians we are one family on earth we may not be directly related but
in Heaven will we will indeed be just one. In Heaven we will be neither
fathers nor mothers nor sisters, or any type of earthly relationship, we
will be just one like the Angels who address each other as Brethren.

While we are on earth and we are in the process of spiritual growth we are
called to address and respect each other as family. We are not called to
make them our natural fathers or mothers or sisters or brothers but called
to give them the same level of respect and love.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You alone are our Heavenly Father and there is none other than You.
You also are our Spiritual Mother for You alone gave us life and one of
your names in the 'Jealous' which means a possessive and protective mother.
On earth You bought us into this world through humans so as to understand
this relationship which we will have with You. Lord we pray we have wisdom
and understanding to know why You created us as a family and why You only
created Adam from dust. We pray this understanding enriches us, our
relationship with You and with the people of this world, especially those
who are yours...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in
heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

1 Peter 1:22-25

22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth unto
unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from the heart fervently:

23 having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of
incorruptible, through the word of God, which liveth and abideth.

24 For, All flesh is as grass, And all the glory thereof as the flower of
grass. The grass withereth, and the flower falleth:

25 But the word of the Lord abideth for ever. And this is the word of good
tidings which was preached unto you.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed
abideth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is begotten of God.

Romans 8:23 And not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first-fruits
[faith] of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting
for our adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

2 Corinthians 9:10 And he that supplieth seed to the sower and bread for
food, shall supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the
fruits of your righteousness:

The Lord is with thee

Acts 18:14,15And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said
unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye
Jews, reason would that I should bear with you: But if it be a question
of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no
judge of such matters.

Today's message talks about the interesting story of Paul in Corinth.
Paul always struggled with the people of Corinth. He initially started
preaching Christ to the Jews and had a breakthrough there when a
prominent Jewish religious leader and his family accepted Christ, he
managed the synagogue. Even after this Paul continued to face resistance.

Corinth was a cosmopolitan city so there were various types of people
living there and Jews were not the majority. The Jews that hated Paul
grouped together and took Paul to the Roman government representative
Gallio who ran the public court. They wanted him to be tried under the
Roman law of preaching another god. Gallio being smart knew their
intention and avoided to get caught in their trap. What happened after
that is more interesting is the person who was leading this Jewish mob
himself got beaten by the Greeks right before Gallio in the public court
and Gallio does not try to stop them, in other words giving his consent
to what was happening. The plans the Jews had set for Paul not only
failed but back fired and they were at its receiving end.

The courage and confidence which Paul showed is all because the Lord
appeared unto him and assured Paul that He was with him and that he
should not fear but continue speaking boldly.

Today the Lord is speaking to some of us who are in difficult
situations, where life is a challenge, where we are facing resistance
and tribulation. The Lord is telling us 'do not worry I am with you,
continue holding on to me and you will see my glory, the grave hole the
enemy had dug for you will see the enemy in it'.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty and Omnipotent God. You Lord are all seeing and
none of the plans of the enemy are hidden from You. When your eyes are
upon your people none can touch them and the trap the enemy sets for
your people sees the enemy in it. Lord we pray we be doers of your Will
so that your eyes always are upon us and none of the plans of the enemy
are successful against us...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Acts 18:5-17

5And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed
in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.

6And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment,
and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from
henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

7And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named
Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.

8And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord
with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and
were baptized.

9Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid,
but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I
have much people in this city.

11And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God
among them.

12And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection
with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,

13Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.

14And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the
Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason
would that I should bear with you:

15But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye
to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.

16And he drave them from the judgment seat.

17Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue,
and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of
those things.

Psalms 23:5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine
enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

The Great Assembly in Heaven

Revelation 5:14And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty
elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

My most beautiful moments of Bible study with the Lord, was when the
Lord started revealing the hidden things of Heavenly places. One of the
most interesting parts is in understanding the Hosts of Heaven that is
the Angels, Elders and Cherubims (mentioned as Beasts in NT) and the
relationship between them.

Revelations talks of the remaining 4 Beats (Cherubims) while Lucifer
(the dragon) and the other Beast (the young lion/comes as a lion) who
fell from grace are mentioned in the OT especially in the book of
Ezekiel chapter 28 as the 'king' and 'prince' of Tyrus. The relationship
between the Cherubims and the Angels was important for me to understand
the mystery of how even though Lucifer being bound in Hell and he will
be released in the end, yet he manages to work amongst us.

In our last message the Lord spoke to us about the 'Great Salvation'
that awaits us at the end and how it is connected to the Angels in
Heaven. If we do not understand the Heavenly Body which is the Assembly
of the Angels / Elders / Cherubims we will not understand the purpose of
the Great Salvation or why God created this creation to be light in the
darkness. Nor understand the role Sons of Man and the Arch Angel plays
as part of completion of the Heavenly Assembly / the Heavenly Temple /
Heavenly Jerusalem.

Heaven is not a flat place where all will come at the same level. Bible
speaks of Heavenly Mountains, these are just symbolic for there are no
literal mountains in Heaven or a city like we have on earth made of gold
and precious gems. Heaven is Spirit place and when we understand what
the term 'spirit' means we will understand Heaven and God better. Paul
tells us of high crowns that await those who are diligent; he also talks
of 3 levels in Heaven which he saw in his vision and about some amongst
us who will command over Angels even though we currently are lower than
Angels. God does not humiliate the Angels by putting man over them but
transforms some amongst us to that position.

It is time we start to study through the Word the unimaginable things
that God has set for us in Heaven (and not through human tales or human
claims). It is only when we know this that our hearts will hold on to
the race that we run.

Let our goal not be just to go to Heaven but to go to the high places in
Heaven which is closest to the Throne of God / the place where His glory
is concentrated the most.

[Prayer Starter]

Father God You are an Awesome God and the plans You have for man are
beyond the understanding of anyone unless your Spirit reveals them. Lord
we pray more and more seek to understand the things of the Heavenly
places so that they know what awaits them, so that they diligently run
this race to overcome this world...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Revelation 19:4And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell
down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

Revelation 4:10-11

10The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the
throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their
crowns before the throne, saying,

11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for
thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were
created.

Revelation 17:8The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall
ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that
dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the
book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the
beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Revelation 12:4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven,
and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman
which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it
was born.

Zechariah 13:9And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will
refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried:
they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my
people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

The locusts that hurt mankind

Revelation 9:7And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses
prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like
gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

Yesterday we spoke of the importance of Bible study the way God has
defined it in the Bible itself that is the 4 stages - Commentaries,
Cross Reference, Word study (going into the Hebrew and Greek words and
its grammar) and lastly things like Image study (design of things),
Bible Numerics, Bible codes etc... Many may not agree on the last stage
either because they have not done the previous 3 stages well or have not
been blessed with wisdom to understand designs (starts will
interpretation of dream i.e. books of Daniel / Revelation).

All the 4 stages of Bible study are Biblical and based on Isaiah
28:9-11. When I wanted to study the Bible I wanted to join a Bible
college but some brothers warned me about the dangers. When I prayed the
Lord too asked me to study with Him and not to join any Bible college.
It was only later I understood why.

In most Bible colleges they do the first and the second stages of Bible
study very rarely the third stage. They may just brush it but do not go
deep into it. Find how many Bible colleges make you learn Hebrew and
Greek as part of Bible study, absolutely miniscule. Coming to the fourth
stage I know of very, very few not even a handful whom I can discuss
this level of understanding of scriptures. That is why I do not read
books of most so called 'famous' Bible teachers for they hover over
level 1 and 2 of Bible study. I do read books of Bible historians,
topics connected to the Bible and stick to core scripture study.

I am happy the Lord gave us this scripture today for Revelation 9:7-10
since it is a perfect example of the forth level of Bible study. Most
Preachers / Bible teachers will speak of literate vicious mutilated locusts.

In the Bible to study hurts and un-forgiveness one needs to study
locusts. It is the friendly grasshopper which at the time of
difficulties or calamities or lack of resource due to over population
that turns into the destructive locust. The grasshopper starts to rub
its hind legs vigorously, changes color and starts to move in swarms
devouring all that comes in its path. The eggs it lays deep within the
soil can stay dormant for long periods and can also withstand great
variations in climate or temperature like in droughts.

The Bible in the days ahead (from the book of Revelation) talks of
religious wars /violence due to hurts and that too with a face of
humanity. They will talk of justice and will have the favour of man.
They will look mighty and indestructible. They will swiftly spread
across the world on the basis of humanity and prosperity / progress but
the trail they leave is death. The period given is 5 months or 5 moon
cycles and can mean 5 man periods or even 5 generations (moon symbolizes
man of God/god).

If we study religions we see in history Islam had 3 periods and
currently running its 4th period / phase of aggression of deaths which
we today call as Islamic terrorism. Catholicism too had in between a
phase of death and aggression. The Catholic Church has killed more
Christians than even the Romans or Islam did. These two religions
together harmed mankind like no ruler or kingdom or war ever did.
Secondly as per prophesy they fulfil the description and they both have
sown seeds of hurts which time and again have shown its ugly faces. One
thing we can be happy of is this phase which we are going through is the
last religious violence mankind will ever see.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God and your wonders do not seem to fascinate man.
You Lord do things which at times man does not notice until it has come
to past. When You came as man Jesus it was only a handful who awaited or
were aware. It was only after You died, resurrected and ascended that
they started to realize who You are. Lord we pray we be like Simeon who
knew and cherished the moment...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Revelation 9:7-10

7And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto
battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their
faces were as the faces of men.

8And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the
teeth of lions.

9And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the
sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running
to battle.

10And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their
tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

Isaiah 28:9-11

9Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand
doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon
line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

11For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

Luke 2:25-30

25And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and
the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel:
and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

26And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see
death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

27And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents
brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

28Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

29Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

30For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

Importance of spiritual fellowship

1 Thessalonians 3: 5For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I
sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted
you, and our labour be in vain.

During the time of Jesus there were no wars in the land thus people got
involved in many things. One of the common things that people got
involved with was starting a religion or getting people to follow a
belief. Some of them did quite well having great following such that
historians made note of a few, but what happened once the leader died
they all dispersed and went back to what they came from. This was the
same that happened with the disciples of Jesus. Once Jesus was crucified
we saw the Apostles went back to what they did before, had it not been
for the Lord's resurrection and He appearing again to His disciples
there would have been no Christianity. Even after Jesus ascended He gave
us His Spirit; had it not been for fellowship with His Spirit,
Christianity would not exist. We see the existence of Christianity is in
follow-up on fellowship.

In today's message we read about a concern that came up on the faith of
the Church in Thessalonica which was shaken because of the lack of
presence of the Apostles and other spiritual leaders.

Fellowship is very critical factor in the life of a Christian. If we
read in the book of Acts 2:41-47 in the early Church people were added
by the Lord daily for they did what pleased the Lord and the priority
they gave to what they did.

1) Continued steadfast in the Apostle's doctrines

2) Fellowshipped

3) Broke Bread

4) Prayed

If we see in today's Churches they do things the other way around, all
the time they pray, very rarely the brake Bread (that too without
understanding) and fellowship is restricted. The Pastor or Church
leaders will control who goes to which cell / house Church and the
fellowship is like a school class room without bonding. The only
fellowship the people have is the social fellowship which happened after
Church service or during social activities organized by the Church.
Spiritual fellowship is very rare.

Coming to doctrines the topic is a taboo which only the head Pastor has
the right to discuss and that doctrine is not based on the Apostolic
doctrine but on the founder of denomination of that congregation. It is
this reason that we struggle to increase for it is man adding people to
the Church and not the Lord adding people to the Church.

Let us break the strong holds of 'doctrines' that has caused division
among us. Let us know, what is the basic, fundamental, foundational
understanding of faith that is needed and other understanding let it not
be a cause of division amongst us. Let us understand spiritual
fellowship is the second most important aspect in a Church after sound
fundamental doctrine. If we ignore spiritual fellowshipping we will see
a shaking of faith among the people and an open door for the tempter to
do his work.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty and Omnipotent God. Even though You are everywhere
and there is no place one can hide from You, yet You Lord manifest Your
presence just to encourage us who are weak in faith that we do not lose
faith and let the tempter devour us. We pray Lord your Church
understands the term 'one body', 'one mind', 'one understanding'...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

1 Thessalonians 3

2 Corinthians 13:14The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of
God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Acts 2: 41-47

41Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same
day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and
fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by
the apostles.

44And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as
every man had need.

46And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking
bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and
singleness of heart,

47Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord
added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Acts 11:23-24

23When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted
them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose,

24for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a
great many people were added to the Lord.

1 John 1:7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us
from all sin.

Witnessing our Fellowship

1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that
ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with
the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

John the Apostle had very close relationship with Jesus not because
Jesus loved him more than others. Jesus manifested the image of the
Father and the Lord loves everyone the same for there is no partiality
in the Kingdom of God. Yes some are given more and some less only
because the mission given to all is not the same, so according to the
mission the Lord gives.

John, Simon (Cephas/Peter) & James the bro of John were to lead the
Church (joined by Paul and Barnabas) so were given more attention; over
and above that John was to write the autobiography of Jesus (Gospel of
John) so was given the most personal attention.

Our fellowship with the Lord depends on the purpose / plans the Lord has
in our lives which is our mission. Now that does not mean that some will
have more and some less fellowship, the more we surrender to His plans
in our lives the more will be our fellowship with Him.

We notice John says fellowship with the Father and His Son but does not
mention the Holy Spirit. So did John deny the Holy Spirit or did not
have fellowship with the Holy Spirit?

Jesus said He had to leave us and ascend to the Father else we will not
receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Son so
also Jesus is ascended to Heaven He still is with us since His Spirit
dwells amongst us.

Jesus said 'he that has seen Me, has seen the Father', 'if ye had known
me, ye should have known my Father also', thus fellowship with the Holy
Spirit is fellowship not only with the Son but also the Father. Jesus
also said the Father is with Him since He did the will of the Father. As
John called himself the one whom Christ loved so can we all call
ourselves as the one whom Christ loves, that is if we too know Christ
like John did and we dedicate our lives to the Lord's work like John did.

When we do the Father's will which Jesus did, that is of reaching to the
lost sheep then our fellowship with the Father and the Son will grow. As
our fellowship grows we will see great things for where the presence of
the Father is more His glory is also manifested more, thus we get to
witness more of Him.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are a Loving Father. We are your children and You called us to
be sons to grow in You and become more like You. Lord unless we do not
have fellowship with You we will not know You nor become more like You.
Lord we pray we surrender more and more to your Spirit and your will so
that grow in You, witness You more and become Sons...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Romans 2:11For there is no respect of persons with God.

James 3:17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then
peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good
fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

John 8:19Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered,
Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have
known my Father also.

John 14:9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and
yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the
Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

John 8:29And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me
alone; for I do always those things that please him.

John 10:38But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that
ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

John 6:44No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me
draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 14:26But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in
my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all
that I have said to you.

Galatians 4:6And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his
Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”

Post  Admin Sat 18 Feb 2017, 1:10 pm

Followers of men

Philippians 3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them
which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

Bible is very clear 'be not followers of man for man's heart is
deceiving' yet we find Paul saying 'follow me' and in another
translation it is written as 'imitate me'. So the question arises can we
imitate man or be followers of Men of God?

We can learn in Paul's letters to the various Churches and knowing their
level of faith Paul keeps changes his claim of asking the people to
follow him.

The Church of Corinth was the weakest among the Churches Paul ministered
therefore he struggled with them the most. They did not know Christ and
since they did not know Christ nor were they Word rooted so it was not
possible for them to follow Christ that is why Paul asked them to follow
him for he followed Christ, so Paul became a beacon to them.

The Church of Philippi had moderate faith and some understanding of the
Word but they too were not that mature to know Christ. We see here Paul
uses terms like 'join me in imitating Christ' for them, he brings them a
step forward to the Church at Corinth.

The Church of Thessalonica was among the most mature Churches to whom
Paul wrote. To them Paul changes his tone further, he tell them 'you
became imitators of us and of the Lord' showing that they did know the
Lord somewhat. So we see Paul brings the Thessalonians one step further
to the Philippians and the Corinthians.

With regards to the Church at Berea we find Paul did not need to write
letters to them for they were a mature lot. They discerned all things by
verifying ever claim with scriptures. They did not spare even a person
like Paul when he preached to them. They did this not because they
doubted Paul but because they wanted a clear confirmation. Scriptures
had become the beacon for them and thus they did not need to follow any
man.

A good example of studying relationship between a spiritual leader and a
disciple is studying the relationship between Paul and Timothy. Timothy
grew from spiritual son to being a spiritual associate of Paul.

When I hear people state anything I am not aware of I immediately
confirm the same with scriptures. I will not rest until I have verified
their claim and discerned if they have given correct claim, a wrong
claim or an exaggerated claim. For this reason I do not follow any man,
Preacher or Man of God, I follow only Christ.

Jesus asked people to follow Him but later He Himself handed them over
to the Holy Spirit who became their beacon. All that Jesus had taught
them was made clear by the Holy Spirit.

We are called to imitate Christ whom we know through scriptures so we
are called to set scriptures as the beacon of our spiritual life. But as
we are learning and growing in scriptures we need to have a hand to hold
on to and that hand can be the person who ministers to us. But that does
not mean we blindly follow him or her. We are asked to verify everything
they state with the Word. As we slowly grow and have the Word within us
we will walk along with that person as a companion not follower, and
then later we walk having only the Word as our beacon and not any man.
We need to grow from Corinth to Philippians to Thessalonians to Berea.

The ultimate beacon for us is the Holy Spirit for the Word says those
who are led by the Spirit become Sons of God meaning like Jesus (the
man). The problem comes that we get fooled into following our
conscience, our desires, our carnal mind thinking it is the Holy Spirit
and it is the Word that helps us discern our thoughts. As we start
surrendering to the Holy Spirit, He opens the Word unto us and thus we
know more and have better relationship with the Spirit of God, thus the
Word of God and the Spirit of God become our spiritual feet.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are God and You are Spirit. We thank You Lord for those whom
You have put into our lives to led us to You through your Word. We pray
Lord we make your Word and your Spirit our ultimate spiritual beacon and
move from following man to following You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

1 Corinthians 4:15-16

15For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not
many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

16Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

1 Corinthians 11:1 Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.

Philippians 3:17Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on
those who walk according to the example you have in us.

Philippians 4:9What you have learned and received and heard and seen in
me - practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

1 Thessalonians 1:6 And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for
you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit,

2 Thessalonians 3:14If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter,
take note of that person, and have nothing to do with him, that he may
be ashamed.

Acts 17:10-11

10And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto
Berea: who when they were come thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they
received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the
Scriptures daily, whether these things were so.

Heavenly Citizenship

Philippians 3:20For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait
for Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

The day we realize this world, this natural life is all temporary and we
are just passing through it, that day onwards our way at seeing life
itself will change, our love for worldly things will be need based, the
purpose why we are passing through will become more important than our
enjoying this natural life.

Many a times we wonder why God is allowing us to suffer or go through
things in this world. Yes we do have good times too in this world but
then does it please God to see us go through these ups and downs in this
life?

Some months back I was discussing with some Apologist brothers on the
sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ from the foundation of creation and
as I was answering their queries I realized the plans He had for us, why
He kept saying we need to be renewed in spirit, be born from above (born
again), become a new being etc.

The very next verse to today’s message tells of a change we will go
through, most people think it to be a minor upgrade or more like a
cleansing program. God would not have allowed man to sin had it been
just a cleansing program. If we notice in Genesis in Heaven it talks of
two trees, the Tree of Life and the Tree of Good and Bad, in the end in
Revelation Bible speaks of only the Tree(s) of Life and we do not read
of the Tree of Good and Bad.

God is not a child playing with living things to entertain Himself. He
is a builder who wants to create a better thing and that thing may
prosper more and more like parents do to their children.

What we suffer in this world is nothing to the reward that awaits us at
the end when our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ comes again to take us.
The transformation is not a minor upgrade but a total reformation having
no resemblance to what we are, more like a worm becoming a beautiful
butterfly.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Awesome God. Your ways are not like the ways of man. You
are a selfless and merciful God even though man mocks at You and your
creation yet You forgive him and bless him with thing beyond his
imagination. You Father are more than any earthly parent can be. We
thank You God for the wonderful things that await us when we enter
Heaven with the coming again of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Woman of good works

1 Timothy 5:10 and having a reputation for good works: if she has brought
up children, has shown hospitality, has washed the feet of the saints, has
cared for the afflicted, and has devoted herself to every good work.

In his letter to Corinthians we read of Paul instructing the women not to
speak (preach) but to be under the guidance of their husbands, but here in
one of his later letters we see Paul giving instructions to Timothy on
women being part of the ministry. He instructs Timothy on the criteria for
widows being part of the ministry, showing it was not the gender but the
position (relation wise and culturally) of the woman that mattered. Paul
says widow need to be not less than 60 years old and should not be married
again, she would be a woman who has bought up her children and housed
strangers (shown hospitality), she should be a woman who has washed the
feet of the saints, cared for the afflicted and devoted to good works.

Paul did not give guidance for those who are in the second ring of the
ministry, those who support the ministry or do the donkey’s work in a
ministry. Paul was giving guidance for those who are in the inner ring of
the ministry, those who preached, ministered, stood as leaders.

When it came to widows being part of the ministry Paul suggested against
including young widows but only those above 60years. 60 is not a magic
number but an age where is person is usually not interested sexual
relationships and this point he clears in the next verses where he points
to problems with younger widows as not able to control their sexual
desires. Having sexual desires is not a sin but shows immaturity in terms
of spirituality. We also need to note during the times of the Apostles the
Believer community was strong and they helped each other financially and
were like one family so there was no reason for getting married for
financial or emotional support.

We find one of the criteria pointed out by Paul was ‘washing the feet of
saints’, this was not literately meant. ‘Saints’ did not mean extra holy
people but those who dedicated their lives for the Lord’s service, they
depended on the support of the people for many of their needs and Paul said
a widow who does not have much but yet reached out to the saints in
whatever way they can, could be eligible for ministry.

As Christians let us understand the purpose of marriage, let us not make it
a contract for emotional, commercial, sexual purposes or old age insurance
like the world does. We need to understand marriage with relationship of
Christ and His Church. Can He be called a Good Shepherd if He had no sheep?
Can He be called a Savior if He has no person to save? Can He be called
Teacher if He does not have any students? Marriage without family /
children is like an empty gift box, even if it is beautifully wrapped it
fulfills no purpose, it is like Church (hall) without people. The gift
within is the importance not the wrapping, similarly children are the main
purpose of a family not the couple. God put His purpose before Himself that
is why He humbled Himself and becoming man became our sacrifice.

We also as Christians need to remember good works does not literally mean
social works. In the Bible more importance is given to work of faith than
to social work. We cannot be people doing only works of faith and not doing
social work for our faith will be hollow, or doing only social work and not
doing works of faith for that will not classify us as Christians. So both
are important, but as we grow works of faith hold higher priority for us as
Christians. This same principle we see in the criteria set for widows being
taken into ministry for if not larger, equal part of the points raised are
regarding works of faith.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord, You are God and Father to all that You created. You alone are also
protector and provider of all that You created. We pray Lord we understand
everything that was, is and will be is with your consent and nothing is
without You eve the strains of hair on our head is counted by You. Lord we
pray we understand the purpose more than what we see or desire in the
natural. May we be led in the spirit more than in the flesh, may we know
our weaknesses and strengths...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

1 Timothy 5:9-17

9 Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old,
having been the wife of one man,

10 Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if
she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have
relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

11 But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton
against Christ, they will marry;

12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house;
and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which
they ought not.

14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the
house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.

16 If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them,
and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows
indeed.

17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour,
especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

The Law of God and of the flesh

Colossians 2: 20-22Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the
rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye
subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are
to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

Today's message is pretty deep to understand and can only be understood
well when a person understands the difference between sin and evil.

We see sin is associated with man because the Law was given to man, but
when the angels fell from the grace of God it is not written they
sinned. Sin is a subset of evil, as we come to know more of the Law of
God we are convicted of the evil we have done as sin. A person who does
not know God will never know he or she has sinned. They may be aware of
the evil they have done but unless the Law of God is revealed they are
not sinners unto themselves.

One may think Law is bad for no Law no sin. Law did not create sin but
allows the being doing evil to change and overcome it. Law comes as a
sign of hope that is why the Lord did not give His Law unto Satan and
the fallen angels but gave it unto man since He knew Satan and the
fallen angels would not repent but man will.

Paul says Law is good but he also condemns a law which is not of God but
of man. He condemns the law of man since it does not let one overcome
evil (even though it seems to show that) but indirectly tries to justify
the evil doer or gives him or her 'okay' certificate. The law of this
world seems to show it condemns evil by directing us to do things in the
natural/spiritual so as to overcome it and when we fail to do what is
recommended we land up indirectly blaming God for not helping us enough
to do what man has set as rules to overcome. The focus is moved from
overcoming evil to keeping the law.

In today's message Paul notes physical things as example but there are
also things which are not physical which we put as law these can make us
religious people and thus drive us towards evil instead of taking us
away from it. The Law of God itself does not take us away but helps
realize what we need to do and also makes us realize helpless in keeping
it, this is where the Spirit of God plays the role of helping us keep
the Law. Without the Spirit no man can keep the Law of God. It is the
Spirit of God who writes / confirms / fulfills the Law into our hearts.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are our Creator and all things are made by You. You gave the
Law for You knew even after sinning there was hope for man to return
unto You. This hope manifested in the flesh as the Gospel and became a
confirmation by becoming our sacrifice so as to give us your Spirit.
Lord we know without your Spirit we cannot keep the Law for keeping it
in the flesh fails the purpose of the Law. Help us Lord to hold on to
the Spirit, the spirit of Law and the Law of the Spirit; help us not to
hold on to the law of the flesh...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Romans 2:14-15

14For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things
contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

15Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their
conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while
accusing or else excusing one another;)

Romans 7:9-12,19-25

9For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came,
sin revived, and I died.

10And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

11For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it
slew me.

12Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not,
that I do.

20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that
dwelleth in me.

21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my
mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my
members.

24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this
death?

25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I
myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Romans 8:2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me
free from the law of sin and death.

Galatians 5:18But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

2 Corinthians 3:15-18

15But to this day, at the reading of the law of Moses, a veil is over
their heart.

16But when it is turned to the Lord, the veil will be taken away.

17Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there
the heart is free.

18But we all, with unveiled face giving back as in a glass the glory of
the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as
from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Hebrews 8:10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of
Israel After those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their
mind, And on their heart also will I write them: And I will be to them a
God, And they shall be to me a people:

Supporting each other in time of difficulties

Acts 11:29Then the disciples, every man according to his ability,
determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

When we read this scripture it seems that there was a problem in Judea
and the disciples sent help unto the disciples there. If we read the
scripture before it states a disciple named Agabus who was a prophet,
had prophesied of the problem and when it happened the disciples
contributed in whatever way they could to help the disciples that
dwelled in Judaea. It is only when we do a background study through
history we understand the problem and the seriousness of it. A clue for
that is given in ver.28.

During the rule of Claudius Caesar in his first and second year there
was a severe famine and this famine was not specific to a place but
across the world. This was not the only famine; again after a few years
there was another famine that was even worse than the previous one. This
famine affected even Rome so much so that it compelled Claudius to build
a port at Ostia, just for the food to be bought in via sea route.

When we get into the full background we understand this problem was not
a local but a global problem and the disciples sending aid, they
themselves were facing it, yet we see they still send out help unto
their brethren (Disciples of Christ) in Judaea, since those there faced
even harsher situations than them.

In today's message the Lord is telling us even during the times of
difficulty we are called to help those in Christ who are in more
difficult moments than us. We would do that for our actual / natural
family members without question; the Lord is telling us we need to do
the same unto those who are in Christ since they are members of our
Heavenly family.

Out of our abundance we are called to give unto others who are not in
Christ but when it comes to those in Christ we are called to give even
from the little we have.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are a Merciful God, even though it hurt You yet You sacrificed
your only beloved Son for those whom You loved and are yours. You Lord
show us how we need to love others. Lord we pray You give us the courage
to give unto our brethren especially during difficult times when we feel
we do not have sufficient...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Acts 11:28-30

28And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the
Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which
came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

29Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to
send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

30Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of
Barnabas and Saul.

Acts 21:10-11

10And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a
certain prophet, named Agabus.

11And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own
hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews
at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him
into the hands of the Gentiles.

Our biggest enemy

Colossians 1:21And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your
mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

Ask any Christian who is the greatest enemy and they will promptly say
Satan. Most of the time we find Christians binding and rebuking Satan.
Give them an opportunity and they will start blaming Satan for
everything. Do Christians realize when they spend much time with a
person or thing, even if it is in a negative way they land up making
that person or thing a god?

If we look at the preaching of Jesus in all the Gospels we will find Him
rarely blaming Satan for anything, most of the time He blamed the people
for their deeds. He called people 'children of Satan' because of their
deeds, they way of life. When Jesus ask us to overcome, He did not say
overcome Satan but said overcome this world which is our thinking, our
understanding, our belief, our way of life, our priorities, our desires
etc. and not the trees, mountains, animals or the nature.

Satan is not a god to do anything as he wishes. When the Lord as man
Jesus went into 40 days fasting in the wilderness to be weakened and be
tested, Satan did not attack Him, he tempted / tested Jesus to willingly
allow him to destroy Jesus' propose.

Satan cannot do anything to us unless we allow him to. He tempts us so
that we willingly open the door for him to enter and do his
destructions. So who is the greater enemy him or us, who allow him. Paul
instructs us to overcome or battle with our former self which is not in
Christ. Our spiritual battle is less with demons and more with our
corrupt inner spirit-man.

Let us not spend more time with Satan or give him importance even if it
is binding or rebuking him. Let us fortify our own house and not let
that creep enter. Let us understand the greatest enemy for us is our own
self which is in this world. If we overcome the desires of the world, we
will not have Satan or anything troubling us in any way, for the glory
of God will be our fortress.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are a Holy God. You Lord desire us to be holy so that we can
dwell in your presence and thus experience eternal life. Satan who was
removed from your presence does not want us to be blessed in You so he
tries all he can to destroy us by causing us to willfully go against
You. Lord we pray we overcome him by first overcoming our own selves for
he has no power over us unless we allow him...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

John 16:33These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have
peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I
have overcome the world.

Romans 12:21Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

2 Peter 2:20For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world
through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are
again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them
than the beginning.

1 John 2:13I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is
from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have
overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye
have known the Father.

Ephesians 4:22-27

22That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which
is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in
righteousness and true holiness.

25Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his
neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27Neither give place to the devil.

Know the End

1 Thessalonica 4: 16, 17For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven
with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of
God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive
and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet
the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

In the Bible it says other than the doctrine (teaching / understanding)
of salvation via grace / works we need to be very clear on the doctrine
of baptism, laying of hands, resurrection of the dead and eternal
judgment. We become sound Christians, rooted on the Rock when these
doctrines are clear within us.

You may notice I am using the word 'doctrine' instead of
'understanding'. In the Bible the word translated as 'doctrine' means
'teaching' and those who were rooted in the teachings of men were always
astonished with the teachings of the Kingdom of God. Our people have
made the word 'doctrine' as a bad word more like leprosy in the OT.

People do not realize they learn less from the Bible / God and more man.
Time and again I have caught even the most know preachers falling in
this trap of 'following man blindly'. When we follow man we start to
have doctrines and not doctrine, meaning we have multiple understandings
on one thing instead of one. This is because we accept multiple views
without cross verifying with scriptures. What many do is just look up
one scripture and satisfy themselves with even 50% application of that
scripture. They do not realize Bible works on the principle of 2 or 3
witnesses (2 or 3 scriptures).

I have heard preachers state Jesus comes at least 3 times one which He
already did, next to rule the world for 1000 years and then again at the
end. When I ask them what happens to Him after the 1000 years, is He
killed again and resurrects again or does He flee to Heaven, they are
unable to answer.

The problem with people is they do not really know what Salvation means
and what we are called to become to enter the Kingdom of God, what being
born again in spirit really means, they think it as a cleaning job. What
God has said He does not change yet He accepts us back in Heaven not by
cancelling but by making a 'New Thing'. Attend a Christian funeral and
you will see Pastors, Preaching fumbling at their preaching or talking
something totally outside the Bible like of visitations to Heaven and
Hell, for this very reason.

Today's scripture is one of the least understood scripture but yet a
very important scripture. It is very essential to the belief since it is
connected to both Judgment Day and resurrection of which doctrine is
needed to be a sound Christian rooted on the Rock.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty and Righteous God. You and your Word are eternal;
You do not change nor does Your Word. Even though You Lord shut out man
from Heaven yet You out of your mercy made a New Way for man to be
reconciled unto You. You have blessed him with things that none can
imagine. Your Name is what saved man and renews man to be eligible to
enter Heaven. Lord we pray You open the hearts and minds of your people
to understand the Kingdom of Heaven and the things You have set for us...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Hebrew 6:1-3

1Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go
on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from
dead works, and of faith toward God,

2Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of
resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

3And this will we do, if God permit.

Matthew 7:28And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the
people were astonished at his doctrine:

1 Thessalonians 5:1-9

1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I
write unto you.

2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a
thief in the night.

3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction
cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not
escape.

4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake
you as a thief.

5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are
not of the night, nor of darkness.

6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are
drunken in the night.

8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of
faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our
Lord Jesus Christ,

The Lord will protect you

Acts 23:18So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and
said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this
young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.

In the Bible if we walk in the ways of the Lord, the Lord says we will
experience many afflictions. Jesus said the world will hate us for it
hated Him first. Due to Jesus' name sake even family members will turn
against us.

If a person is a Christian and not facing problems because of following
Christ then the person needs to look into the mirror and will see a
lukewarm Christian who compromises Christ for the sake of the world. So
persecution as a Christian is by default.

One may ask does God like His people face persecution. We understand
world hates God like darkness hates light but then is God unable to
protect His people? Does not the Father love His children and want to
give them the best. Christianity is not Jainism where suffering is core
to its belief. Salvation is not connected to suffering.

Can food be cooked without fire or heating? The primary purpose of God
is to save us from eternal death and to bless us with the precious
things that are of His Kingdom. For that He needs to work in us and work
through us. If He is working in us, we will surely encounter problems
and difficulties. Can a diamond be bought into it finished beautiful
shape without being polished? Does that mean we are doomed in this world?

When Jesus died He suffered tremendously so much so His flesh was
hanging and bones exposed, Bible says He failed to look as a human
being, but then in all this God still protected His bones and none were
allowed to be broken. Did we ever ask if God allowed Him to suffer then
why only His bones were protected?

Bones in the Bible symbolize character and Jesus as man carried the
Character of God or the Name of the Lord. We know the Father because we
know Jesus Christ. We also know God will never let His Name down.

When we walk in the ways of the Lord we put on the character of God /
Name of the Lord / Jesus, so even though we suffer persecution yet the
Lord will protect us from them all and through all these persecutions
none of our bones will be harmed meaning our character will be protected.

In today's message we see Paul was allowed to be arrested and taken to
Rome where he was going to be martyred yet God did protect his life from
the hands of the Jews. The Lord got a fearless young man to overhear the
conversation of the Jews plotting to kill Paul and got this young man to
witness the same to the Roman soldiers who then protected Paul.

The word Martyr comes from the Greek word 'Martus'. This word occurs 54
times in the Bible and only 3 times it is translated as 'martyr', the
remaining times it is translated as 'witness' or 'testimony' (to
testify, bear record).

We as Christians have a mission to witness Christ in other words we are
called to be martyrs for His name sake. If we love our worldly lives
then we are not Christian for Christ said unless we do not forsake our
worldly lives we will not receive eternal life. That does not mean we
have to be physically killed but means we will face death like situation
by others and even by our own selves when we overcome our fleshy
desires. As we grow in Him we will face lesser problems / persecutions
but problems / persecutions will always be there until His Kingdom
comes, until darkness is defeated, but till then we do not loos heart
for there will also be the Lord's protection over us.

Today the Lord is talking to all those who are facing persecution for
Christ's namesake, the Lord is saying even though they will suffer yet
the Lord will not let down His Name in us. He will protect them and
deliver them through it all.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Holy God and your Name is lifted up not only in the Heavens
but even on earth and everywhere. The world may try to bring down your
Name but then You work through your people who walk in your way and lift
up your Name. It is your Name that protects us and keeps us. Lord we
pray we understand what it means to being in your Name and living it. We
know Lord the world hates us and wants to destroy us but then every hair
of our head is protected by You and none will even fall if You do not
allow it to. We know Lord You keep our bones and in all the persecution
You will lift us up...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Psalms 34:19-22

19Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him
out of them all.

20He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

21Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be
desolate.

22The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that
trust in him shall be desolate.

John 12:25He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his
life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

Matthew 10:22And ye shall be hated of all for my name's sake: but he
that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Matthew 19:29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or
sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my
name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting
life.

Matthew 13:20-23

20But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that
heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

21Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when
tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is
offended.

22He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the
word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke
the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

23But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the
word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth
forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Sexual discrimination!

1 Corinthians 14: 34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it
is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under
obedience, as also saith the law.

In most 'moral' religions one will see there is a layer of sexual
discrimination between men and women. If you look at the lives of
Christians or even ask them one would see equality like none other, but
as you get to the religious people you will find confusion on this
matter. Some denominations do not allow women to lead a congregation or
take official posts, but then there are others who do. The root problem
is these instructions given by Paul to the Church of Corinth.

I have seen Apologist debating with Muslim Dawahs and wrongly justifying
these scriptures by saying these instructions were only to the Church of
Corinth and not to all. If that is the case then how can they take the
other instructions of Paul are not being specific?

Not going too deep into scriptures, in the Bible there is no gender
discrimination for male and female and they are treated alike. Yes there
are differences in some areas like when it comes to inheritance or in
marriage but that is not due to gender but has a spiritual understanding
around it. Christian marriage is not a contract as the world sees it but
is a role play to understand the relationship and purpose of the Lord
and His bride, similarly inheritance is related to the image of the
Father in us. Bible says when the body dies the spirit has not man or
woman gender and the resurrected man are like the Angels who neither
marry or given in marriage.

If we read today's message Paul is mentioning the women to keep silence
as according to the law and if we look up scriptures there is no law
with regards to women not speaking in a synagogue or in a gathering.
What Paul was referring to were the Jews traditions (oral traditions)
which were recorded in the Mishnah (in 200CE) and later expounded on in
the Talmuds.

Paul was in his letter telling the Jewish women to not come as a
cultural shock by changing traditions overnight. He observed this was
causing more problems than good for these women were speaking out aloud
without having understanding of the matter, so these instructions we not
specific to just to the Church of Corinth but to all Jews who accepted
Christianity.

We as Christians are called for change internally more than externally.
Yes the external change will come but that change should happen
gradually after the internal change. Changing the name or the way of
dressing or the way of social life or cultural life is not that which
makes a person Christian. Let us understand the change should be from
within and that change should attract people to know Christ. By external
change we may impress some immediately or even shun them but either way
they will not come to know Christ.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord created all things in image of
things of your Kingdom and image of things of their kingdom. Even though
You Lord created them in different images yet You said they all are
good. You made them so that by our understanding them we may understand
that which is not visible. You made both man and woman in your image but
when You created them in that natural You made man out of dust and woman
out of the bone of man. Lord we pray we understand your creation, so as
to understand your plans for it more better...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Acts 18:2-26, Romans 16:3-4, 2 Timothy 4:19 (Aquila and Priscilla)

Genesis 1:26-27

26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and
let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of
the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he
him; male and female created he them.

Galatians 3:28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor
free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Mathew 22:29-30

29Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the
scriptures, nor the power of God.

30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage,
but are as the angels of God in heaven.

1 Corinthians 14:34-36

34Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted
unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as
also saith the law.

35And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home:
for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

36What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

Our battle with Satan

1 Thessalonians 2:18 Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul,
once and again; but Satan hindered us.

We read in today's message Paul stating that he had desires to visit
Thessalonica but then Satan hindered him.

Yesterday we learnt the battle was between man and Satan so did Satan
appear before Paul to stop him? Bible does not say anything like that
happened. In the Bible Satan did not appear to anyone other than Jesus.
So how did Satan hinder Paul?

We need to first understand the term Satan is not a singular term but a
plural term. It refers to the team of the cherubs (Dragon and the Beast
/ king and prince of Tyrus / serpent and the young lion) and the fallen
angels whom we call evil spirits. The word Satan means 'adversary' (one
who opposes another in purpose or act). So what are they opposing?

We know when there was darkness God created man to be the light in the
darkness. The whole lot of the fallen, the two cherubs and the angels
were cast off the upper Heaven with their leader bond in Hell to await
their destruction, so even if man is there or not there, overcomes or
does not overcome, yet the fallen will meet their end. God created man
(an inferior being to the Angels) to overcome the fallen angels and the
cherubs so as to make a spectacle of them forever moreover God created
man to be blessed and take that which was lost by those fallen, in other
words the Heavenly Temple / Body / Jerusalem is restored.

We also know the fallen angels' and the Beast's powers are taken away
(marked) so they which are with us can not directly destroy us unless we
allow them (that is why they tempt us so to open doors of attack). Even
if they were able to kill us all, it would not help them; their aim is
to deprive us from receiving that which the Lord has set for us. Thus
they do all that they can to keep us in sin and make us failures that is
why they are called our adversaries.

We humans even though are lower than the Angels yet in spirit we are not
less than them. The problem is that we dwell in the flesh (not just
physical flesh) unlike them and it is only when we overcome the flesh we
will be like them and are in a position to finish the job we are created
for. The fallen know the day we overcome their judgment is due.

Let us understand Satan will hinder us if we are in the flesh. They may
not directly hinder us (when we are spiritually strong) but may do so
through people around us who have worldly desires, they can become
instruments of hindrance in the hand of the adversary.

Let us always remember we need to not only build ourselves spiritually
but also built those with us so that we do not face hindrance in our
work in the Lord. Salvation is personal but also a team, as one body.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty and All knowing. Your Wisdom can not be
comprehended. Lord we pray we understand the things You have set us for
and that we may receive it. The adversaries will try their best to
deprive us but we know with You / Christ with us the victory is already
ours. We pray we be counted among those who stand to receive...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Genesis 1:1-3

1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the
face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

John 3:20-21

20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the
light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be
made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Matthew 8:29And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with
thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before
the time?

Jude 1:6And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their
own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness
unto the judgment of the great day.

Colossians 1:12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to
be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

1 Timothy 6:14-16

14That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the
appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

15Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only
Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

16Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can
approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and
power everlasting. Amen.

Revelation 12:3-4, 7-9

3And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red
dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast
them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready
to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

7And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the
dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil,
and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the
earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Zechariah 13:9And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will
refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried:
they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my
people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

Do not shrink God Almighty

Acts 17:24God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he
is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

When I was a Catholic I was trained to respect the monuments called
'church' and every time I entered or even passed the monuments as per
Catholic tradition I would make the sign of the cross which meant
touching the forehead, chest and the two shoulders. At times it was done
so fast that it looked like martial arts! We were told God dwelled in
those monuments therefore the place was a sanctified place and thus we
were told to always observe silence within its walls and even if we
spoke, it was very softly more like whispers. The bigger and more
beautiful the monument the more the sanctified was the place.

The Catholic mentality is not isolated it is inherited from Judaism
where objects and symbols were considered holy, not its understanding.
Catholicism is based on Nicolaitan belief which was a Jewish heretic
belief.

Believers too have problems in the area of comprehending God; they too
shrink God to the level of a Cherub who is created by Him. They bring
God to the level of Satan (a cherub) by making Satan a formidable force
for Him. The battle is not between God and Satan but between light and
darkness, and God has made the light to shine through man. So the battle
is actually between man and Satan with man crushing the head of evil.
The only thing is God [the Son] indirectly intervenes in this battle by
leading the fight as not God but as a man.

Another problem with Believers is that they have taken some of the
Nicolaitian beliefs via Catholicism since it has come out of it. Like
many believe Satan rules Hell and he with his fallen angels punish
people who go there. Bible on the other hand says Hell is a prison and
in control of the Angels of God. In there too neither God nor His Angels
punish people but people punish themselves for the never ending coals of
fire that burn within them are nothing but the sins that they have
committed in their natural life.

Let us understand God is indeed God, do not make Him a super power which
is limited, He is an infinite power not super power. He is beyond time
and space and nothing exist that is not created by Him. God is
omnipotent so Hell also a place where He dwells but not a place where
one would see His glory; His glory is concentrated in the highest Heaven
thus called His Throne. Throne of God is not a seat for He is not man,
He is Spirit.

People shrink God so that they can limit God and thus restrict Him from
the areas they do not want Him. Let us not shrink God and instead of
trying foolishly to size Him let us just worship Him and glorify Him and
know nothing can be hidden from Him.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You alone are God and when Jacob and Moses asked your name You
rebuked them and said I AM WHO I AM. You Lord alone exist and there is
none like You. Lord we pray we understand like the Psalmist David that
there no place in time nor space where we can hide from You...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Revelation 2:12-15

12And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith
he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;

13I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is:
and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in
those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among
you, where Satan dwelleth.

14But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them
that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a
stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed
unto idols, and to commit fornication.

15So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans,
which thing I hate.

Psalms 139:8If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed
in hell, behold, thou art there.

Exodus 3:14And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus
shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Genesis 32:28-29

28And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for
as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

29And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he
said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed
him there.
