South Gibson, Indiana schools will tell staff not to participate in student led prayer
(14 News) – School staff, including coaches, are going to be told not to participate in student-led prayer in South Gibson County. The “Freedom From Religion Foundation” shared a news release Wednesday saying it comes after they filed a complaint. The organization says a photo was posted on social media that shows coaching staff and players bowing their heads in prayer at a home game on Nov. 2. An attorney for FFRF

sent the school corporation a letter reminding them it’s unconstitutional for public school athletic coaches to lead their teams in prayer or participate in student prayers. The Supreme Court has continually struck down school-sponsored prayer in public schools,” said Attorney Ryan Jayne. “When public school employees acting in their official capacities organize and advocate for team prayer, they effectively endorse religion on the District’s behalf.”

(Todd Starnes) – Tavia Hunt, of Dallas, Texas, wanted to add a personal touch to her family’s Christmas cards this year. So she decided to create a customized stamp for her cards. Mrs. Hunt, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs chairman and chief executive officer Clark Hunt, selected a photograph that featured her family standing in front of St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow.

But the stamp was rejected because it allegedly violated a United States Postal Service regulation that bans any depiction of religious content on customized postage. (CP) – China’s Communist government has been threatening to fire police officers who fail to meet a quota for arresting Christians, according to one officer.  The officer from the city of Dalian, who wasn’t named, said the police station where he works received a quarterly performance assessment plan in September that lists the number of believers officers need to detain, according to his interview that was detailed in the religious liberty magazine Bitter Winter.

“The assessment is based on a 100-point evaluation system with specific scores assigned for each arrested believer depending on his or her faith. The highest scores are given to the most persecuted religious movements, such as Falun Gong or The Church of Almighty God,” the article revealed. “For example, if a police station makes a breakthrough in a case against Falun Gong that is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Security, it scores 20 points. If the provincial Public Security Bureau manages the case, the score is lower — 10 points. (Daily Star) – In an odd photo, which was taken by Swedish local Järvsö, a strange hour-glass shape can be seen piercing through the sky to create the illusion of a pair of eyes. The photo was sent to YouTube conspirator MrMBB333 – who described the phenomenon as “unbelievable”. Sharing the image with his 298,000 viewers, the theorist describes what he refers to as a “giant bumblebee staring into the atmosphere high above Sweden”.

He then goes on to point out “two big eyes” in the sky, followed by what appears to be a “nose”. According to MrMBB333, a strange phenomenon such as this have been seen in the sky in recent months just days before earthquakes have caused devastation in the region. The unexplained video has been viewed more than 57,000 times since its upload last Saturday (December 14). And viewers are fearing for the worst after seeing the startling occurrence in Sweden’s sky.

Because it was quite a distance away, he didn’t think too much of it, and he continued on with his walk… On December 16, 2018 during a walk in a park located in Mairipora, São Paulo Brazil at 10 o’clock in the morning the photographer saw a very strange white object in the sky.

Although the object was very far away or very small, yet it stood out greatly. At the time he thought it was strange, but he continued his walk and did not give much importance to it. Poe asked the Google CEO if “Google’s location tracking so precise that it can know if someone moved from one side of a room to another?” “I wouldn’t be able to answer without knowing more details,” Pichai responded.
Poe seeking a yes or no answer asked him the question a third time. “I’m shocked you don’t know. I think Google obviously does,” he told Pichai. Google does know, according to CNET.com. The internet search engine uses GPS, Wi-Fi and cell tower data to track a user’s location. Fox News recently demonstrated how Google can track a phone even when the device is not hooked up to Wi-Fi. (WSJ) – The U.S. military is preparing a rapid withdrawal of its forces from Syria, administration officials said Wednesday, a move that marks an abrupt reversal of America’s strategy in the Middle East. As America’s four-year-old military campaign against Islamic State draws to a close, President Trump has ordered a speedy exit for about 2,000 American forces in Syria that one U.S. official said could unfold over the next 30 days.

American officials began informing partners in northeastern Syria on Wednesday of their plans, according to people briefed on the planning. “The Pentagon has an order to move troops out of Syria as quickly as possible,” the U.S. official said. The withdrawal plan drew concerns from the White House and Capitol Hill to the State Department and throughout the U.S. military, three U.S. officials said. Extremely rare, very damaging tornado rips through Port Orchard, Seattle, Washington
(The Watchers) – National Weather Service in Seattle confirmed a tornado touched down near Port Orchard, WA just before 14:00 local time on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. An extensive, official damage survey will be conducted by the NWS Wednesday morning. Until then, the strength of the tornado can’t be determined. The state averages 2.5 tornadoes a year, but December tornadoes are even more rare, averaging just 0.1 a year, NWS office in Seattle said.

The tornado swept through a neighborhood near Port Orchard, Washington, causing considerable damage. It ripped roofs off of buildings, damaging at least 50 homes, downed trees and damaged numerous vehicles. Local media reported one of the homes had its roof completely destroyed. Additionally, 20 homes were evacuated after a possible gas leak but there are no reports of injuries.

(WND) – Authorities have arrested a Christian pastor for showing a film titled “Jesus Christ,” charging him with attempting “forced conversions” in India. The minister, identified only as Pastor Sojan, was arrested and detained by police Dec. 9 in Bakhtiyarpur village in the Patna district of India’s Bihar state, reported Asia News. Sajan George, president of the Global Council of Indian Christians,

told Asia News the pastor “was just showing a movie.” “Minorities are even more vulnerable and intimidated by the majority and its false accusations,” he said. Asia News said the villagers accused the pastor of attempted force conversions and had police arrest him. Police then took the pastor back to his home village of Barh and ordered him not to return to Bakhtiyarpur.

Many people do not understand what fasting means to God and what it can accomplish in their lives. There is a strong emphasis on fasting in the Word of God. There are also many examples of the power of fasting in the lives of believers from early times up to the present. But today, the body of Christ has largely disregarded fasting. This is one reason why there is a lack of power in the church as a whole—with few miracles, signs, healings, deliverances and other manifestations of the supernatural to transform lives.

Why has fasting essentially been abandoned by God’s people? There are various reasons. One cause is our overscheduled lives; we pack so much into each day that we often neglect important priorities. Another is simply a lack of motivation. But I think one of the most significant reasons is the pervasiveness of a “hyper-grace” outlook in the church. This perspective says that since Christ has redeemed us and conquered Satan, there is nothing we need to contribute to our spiritual growth and safeguarding. But this is not what Jesus teaches us!

(CNN) One of the deadliest Ebola outbreaks in history continues to worsen in the Democratic Republic of Congo with as many as 319 people now dead. The Ministry of Health said Tuesday that 542 Ebola cases had been recorded in the province of North Kivu — 494 of which have been confirmed. Of the 319 believed to have died from the virus so far, 271 have been confirmed. On average, Ebola — which causes fever, severe headache and in some cases hemorrhaging —

kills about half of those infected, but fatality rates in individual outbreaks have varied. The World Health Organization (WHO) said efforts to contain the outbreak have been hampered due to “non-engagement” from local communities and armed conflict in the region. North Kivu, which includes the cities of Beni, Kalunguta and Mabalako, remains the epicenter of the outbreak, though cases have been reported in neighboring Ituri province, according to the WHO.

According to the wholesaler, over 64,000 cases of incompletely sterilized ‘Fiesta Corn’ have been affected, which are sold in stores like Walmart and Target across the US. Retailers in 25 states and 12 countries are said to have taken delivery of the potentially-deadly cans –

It’s part of the country’s latest crackdown on Christians.  The South China Morning Post reports that 60 police officers and officials stormed Rongguili Church in Guangzhou last week during a children’s Bible class.  “Halfway through the children’s Bible class, we heard the footsteps of dozens of police and officials stomping up the stairs,” a Rongguili church member posted on social media.


“They read out law enforcement notices declaring our venue was an illegal gathering [that had engaged in] illegal publishing and illegal fundraising and confiscated all Bibles.” Authorities recorded the identities of the worshippers and confiscated cell phones. “They then verified our identities again and warned us not to return [to the church] before letting us go,” the church member said.

(CP) A survey has found that as many as two out of five British millennials do not know that Jesus Christ is the baby in Nativity scene displays. The survey, carried out by research company OnePoll on behalf of Hotels.com, found that 39 percent of 2,000 Britons aged between 21 and 38 did not know the baby’s identity. A similar amount, or 37 percent of respondents, also did not know about Joseph and Mary, Jesus’ earthly parents.


The poll, which examined a number of other questions regarding family and Christmas, found that less than 10 percent of young people were able to name the gifts by the three wise men in the story, namely gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Six percent said that they believed the story of Santa Clause was somehow linked with the Nativity.

Residents were also urged to wear masks in case of ash rain, as authorities kept the volcano’s alert level at the second-highest level. One hour after Mount Soputan settled down, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake shook the region with the epicenter about 100 miles southwest of Jayapura, Indonesia. Mount Soputan, which stands at 5,853 feet, is one of Indonesia’s more than 120 active volcanoes.

(The Christian Post) – Reality TV star Duane Chapman, who’s best known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, says he’s turned to God in fervent prayer after his wife, Beth, was diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer. Chapman said he’s trying to “keep everything positive” despite finding out that there’s a lump in his wife’s throat that was twice the size of a mass doctors discovered in 2017.

(RT News) – The active volcano Popocatepetl, located in Central Mexico, has exploded Saturday evening, sending ash two kilometers into the air with the cloud of smoke moving in a northeast direction. Videos from the eruption show a powerful explosion and traces of magma flowing out of the crater. Possible ash fall is expected in areas surrounding the summit.

“Conversion therapy” has been banned in California, 13 other states and the District of Columbia. California came close recently to classifying it as consumer fraud. Number of Americans believing Christmas should be about Christ declining
(The Christian Post) – While the majority of Americans believe the Christmas season should be more about Jesus, that number is steadily decreasing, a new study has revealed. The study from LifeWay Research found two-thirds of Americans (65 percent) say, “Christmas should be more about Jesus.” The study of 1,004 Americans conducted in September found that Christians (81 percent) are more likely to agree with that statement compared to other religions (35 percent) and nonreligious (28 percent).

However, those looking for more Christ in Christmas are significantly fewer than four years ago. A 2014 LifeWay Research study found 79 percent of Americans at that time said Christmas should be more about Jesus. While the biggest drop occurred among members of other religions and the nonreligious, fewer Christians believe Christmas should be more about Jesus as well, the survey found. In 2014, 92 percent of Christians agreed, marking an 11 percent drop in 2018.

(Express) – A strong 5.1 magnitude earthquake has struck off Hualien County in Taiwan, causing ripples to be felt across the Asian country, according to the United States Geological Survey. (Christian News Network) – A federal judge has ordered the Idaho Department of Corrections to allow a male inmate who identifies as female to obtain a “sex change” operation. “Defendants are ordered to provide Plaintiff with adequate medical care, including gender confirmation surgery. Defendants shall take all actions reasonably necessary to provide … gender confirmation surgery as promptly as possible and no later than six months from the date of this order,”

wrote Judge B. Lynn Winmill, nominated to the bench by then-President Bill Clinton. Winmill agreed that the 31-year-old inmate, who goes by the name Adree Edmo, “that without surgery … Edmo is at serious risk of life-threatening self-harm.” According to the ruling, Edmo attempted suicide in 2014, and sought to self-castrate himself in 2015 and 2016, despite being allowed to take female hormones years prior until he was considered “hormonally confirmed.”

(NYP) Australia has decided to formally recognize west Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, but won’t move its embassy until there’s a peace settlement between Israel and the Palestinians, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced Saturday. Morrison said in a speech that Australia would recognize east Jerusalem as Palestine’s capital only after a settlement has been reached on a two-state solution. The Australian Embassy won’t be moved from Tel Aviv until such a time, he said.

While the embassy move is delayed, Morrison said his government would establish a defense and trade office in Jerusalem and would also start looking for an appropriate site for the embassy. “The Australian government has decided that Australia now recognizes west Jerusalem, as the seat of the Knesset and many of the institutions of government, is the capital of Israel,” Morrison said.

Adam Bros. Farming in Santa Maria, Calif. recalled the vegetables harvested between Nov. 27 and Nov. 30 out of an “abundance of caution” because they maybe have been contaminated with E. coli. said in a press release that none of the products had tested positive for E. coli and no illnesses had been reported. It said it had notified its affected customers. The new recall came on the same day when U.S. health officials announced that Adam Bros. Farming was a possible source for an E. coli outbreak from romaine lettuce. But they cautioned Thursday that other farms are likely involved in the E. coli outbreak and consumers should continue checking the label before purchasing romaine lettuce.

Now citizens of the European country can identify as male, female or “diverse.” The decision came late Thursday night and follows a 2017 court ruling that determined the country must create a third gender option for those who identify as neither male nor female. In the ruling, the high court claimed the binary designations violate citizens’ right to privacy.

Overnight, Germany became the first country in Europe to allow parents to declare their children “diverse” from birth. Citizens are also free to change their sexual identity at any time, if they feel the identity they were assigned at birth is incorrect. However, even with the change, there is still a lot of disagreement over how people should be able to attain their sexual descriptors. The new law, as it stands right now, requires medical personnel to certify the validity of the change.

(TechCrunch) – Reset the “days since the last Facebook privacy scandal” counter, as Facebook has just revealed a Photo API bug gave app developers too much access to the photos of up to 5.6 million users. The bug allowed apps users had approved to pull their timeline photos to also receive their Facebook Stories, Marketplace photos, and most worryingly, photos they’d uploaded to Facebook but never shared. Facebook says the bug ran for 12 days from September 13th to September 25th. Facebook tells TechCrunch it discovered the breach on September 25th, and informed the European Union’s privacy watchdog the Office Of The Data

Protection Commissioner (IDPC) on November 22nd. The IDPC has begun a statutory inquiry into the breach. Facebook provided merely a glib “We’re sorry this happened” in terms of an apology. It will provide tools next week for app developers to check if they were impacted and it will work with them to delete photos they shouldn’t have. The company plans to notify people it suspects may have been impacted by the bug via a Facebook notification that will direct them to the Help Center where they’ll see if they used any apps impacted by the bug.

(Express) – TV adverts showing housewives cleaning and husbands lounging about on the sofa are to be scrapped in a bid to crackdown on pigeon-holing males and females following complaints from activists. Campaigners argue that adverts showing lazy men dodging changing their babies’ nappies and woman in aprons baking hearty home-cooked meals are outdated and restrict the aspirations and opportunities of children, teenagers and adults.
Also banned are commercials that depict young boys as being daring and girls being cautious. (SF Gate) Police in multiple Bay Area cities received reports of bomb threats Thursday morning in what appears to be a nationwide scare, authorities said. The threats came in at around 10 a.m. and police responded to “numerous locations,” according to a San Francisco police tweet sent out by the department at 11:44 a.m. “We have received information that several other cities across the United States have received similar threats,” police said.
The threats were delivered by email to numerous locations and demanded Bitcoin payments or else bombs would be detonated in those locations, according to an alert sent out to departments through the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center. Oakland police also fielded multiple bomb threats and on Thursday afternoon, and multiple schools and businesses in Santa Rosa also received bomb threats that demanded payment in bitcoin, officials said. Santa Rosa police advised email users not to click links in any bomb threats sent.

Pastor and more than 100 members of his Church detained in latest crackdown in China
(CBN News) – China is tightening its grip on the country’s Christians through repeated efforts to persecute and silence the Church. The latest example happened Sunday when Communist party officials detained Pastor Wang Yi of the Early Rain Covenant Church and more than 100 members, according to The Wall Street Journal. Zhang Guoqing, an assistant deacon, told The South China Morning Post that pastor Wang’s home was raided.

“His home was ransacked. It was a mess,” Zhang said. “The police said our church is an illegal organization and we cannot attend any more gatherings from now on.” Pastor Wang is an outspoken critic of President Xi Jinping and his new regulations, which require all churches to be registered to the state. He organized a petition several months ago that condemned the government for targeting unregistered churches. The petition gained more than 400 signatures from pastors around the country.

(CBN News) – A transgender contestant is being considered a frontrunner to win the Miss Universe competition over the rest of the biologically female contestants. Angela Ponce won the qualifying rounds in Spain and will represent that country at the upcoming 2018 Miss Universe pageant in Bangkok, Thailand on Dec. 16. The model said a win would send a message to President Donald Trump, who used to own the pageant and didn’t allow transgender contestants.

“It would be a win for human rights,” Ponce said in an interview with Time Magazine. “Trans women have been persecuted and erased for so long. Tudor Investment founder Paul Tudor Jones says he is feeling good about the markets in 2019 and willing to make a bullish bet on the back of buybacks and deleveraged stocks. “I can’t imagine at some time next year we won’t be up … 10 or 15 percent on the year,” says Jones, “because we still have the same buybacks we had this past year. The difference is, we’re walking in completely and totally deleveraged.” Even recently, buybacks have been a boon for stocks under pressure. City leaders unplugged a giant cross that was a focal point for a drive-thru Christian light display in a local park. The Freedom From Religion Foundation, a Wisconsin-based gang of atheists, agnostics and freethinkers filed a complaint alleging that the cross was a violation of U.S. Constitution. Improvements in cameras and other technology have made it cheaper to install scanners that can read fingerprints, faces, and irises. More than 100 airports worldwide use biometric readers from Clear, Vision-Box and other companies to scan passengers. Walt Disney World verifies visitors’ identity by scanning fingerprints. And the advancements will likely keep coming. Microsoft is working with Australia’s national bank on cardless ATM machines that would let people withdraw cash using a facial scan and personal identification number.

(Reuters) – At least one person was killed and 10 people were wounded in a shooting near a Christmas market in the French city of Strasbourg on Tuesday, the local prefecture said. Police locked down the area and launched a hunt for the shooter, who fled the scene, the police sources said. They said the gunman had been identified. Local authorities told people in the city’s Neudorf area and Etoile park to stay where they were.

“There were gunshots and people running everywhere,” one local shopkeeper told BFM TV. “It lasted about 10 minutes.” France remains on high alert after a wave of attacks commissioned or inspired by Islamic State militants since early 2015, in which about 240 people have been killed. Last night, I had a dream which I believe is a warning to the pastors of our nation concerning those who are gracing the doors of our church each month—the people that God has entrusted to you, your flock.

This dream is a reminder that we must take full authority and responsibility to assure that those who come into our churches or ministries are exactly who they say they are, and there for all the right reasons. Satan is aggressively going after the U.S. government and leaders within our country at an unprecedented level; Satan is also strategically slithering his way right into church congregations as quickly as possible. If Satan can bring down and divide the American church, he can permanently destroy this country. Bluntly put: Satan is coming after your church. That’s right, your church, pastor, not just the church a few blocks down the street that causes all of the trouble in town, but yours.

(Fox News)- Bright lights illuminate the narrow street as hundreds of shivering visitors, sometimes as many as 1,000 a night, snap photos of a house that every year is converted into a dazzling winter wonderland. The 70,000 Christmas light display includes a cascading archway of lights, floating snowflakes and giant, twinkling trees. But the house is now in the middle of a Christmas controversy that has pitted the homeowner with the fed-up town –

(Todd Starnes) – An Arkansas school district is warning teachers not to decorate their classrooms with anything that might make a student feel uncomfortable or not included. “When we choose to decorate or celebrate any specific tradition, be it the Christian Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or any other tradition, we run the risk of creating an environment where a student does not feel comfortable or included,” read a letter written by John Colbert, the superintendent of Fayetteville Public Schools. “This is unacceptable.”

I’m sure it was just a coincidence that the Nov. 29th letter was sent to principals and school leaders just before Christmas and not before a Muslim holiday. (Local 8 News) The Steamboat Geyser in Yellowstone National Park broke decades-old records when it erupted for the 30th time in 2018 Saturday. Yellowstone National Park reports Saturday’s eruption surpasses the all-time record for the number of documented eruptions in a calendar year which was 29 in 1964. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the geyser erupted at 1:07 a.m. It has been 9 days, 4 hours and 30 minutes since it last erupted.

This was the longest interval between eruptions since August. Since then, the geyser had been following a semi-regular pattern of erupting about every five to seven days. “The heightened activity at Steamboat this year is uncommon but not unprecedented. We have seen similar activity twice previously; once in the early 1960s, and again in the early 1980s. Conversely, the world’s tallest active geyser has also exhibited years of quiescence or no major eruptions, with the longest being the 50-year period between 1911 and 1961,”

Amazing story of a Homeless man that found $17,000
(CBN News) – A homeless man found a brown sack full of cash in front of a local Sumner, Washington Food Bank. So what did he do? Instead, of taking any of the $17,000 inside, he turned it into the food bank that had fed him. The News Tribune reports Kevin Booth was making an early morning stop at the organization’s community bread box three months ago when he saw something laying on the ground and decided to investigate.

He reached inside the bag and pulled out a $20 bill. “Of course, I sniffed it to see if it was real,” he told the newspaper. “Then I was like, do I take off or do I stay?” Booth, who has lived in the Sumner area for 19 years and has been homeless for the last seven, thought about what he could do with the cash. He realized the money could help a lot of other people and decided to turn it into the food bank. “I felt like doing the right thing would be better than taking off with it,” he told ABC News. “It made me feel good.”

(The Christian Post) – The state of New York has given a Syracuse-based Christian adoption agency an ultimatum to either change their adoption policy forbidding placement with same-sex couples or no longer be able to provide adoption services, a new lawsuit details. New Hope Family Services has filed a federal lawsuit against the acting commissioner of the state’s Office of Children and Family Services on the ground that the nonprofit could be forced to phase out its adoption program if it doesn’t change its policy prioritizing placement in homes with both a mother and a father.

The organization, which was founded in 1965 and also provides foster services and pregnancy resources, has placed over 1,000 children in adoptive homes throughout the state since its founding. According to the legal nonprofit representing the organization, Alliance Defending Freedom, New Hope was founded “to be Christ’s hands extended to offer hope and help to people with pregnancy, parenting, adoption or post-abortion needs in the Syracuse area and throughout the State of New York.”

Record count reported for mysterious paralyzing illness
(AP) — This year has seen a record number of cases of a mysterious paralyzing illness in children, U.S. health officials said Monday. It’s still not clear what’s causing the kids to lose the ability to move their face, neck, back, arms or legs. The symptoms tend to occur about a week after the children had a fever and respiratory illness. No one has died from the rare disease this year, but it was blamed for one death last year and it may have caused others in the past.

What’s more, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials say many children have lasting paralysis. And close to half the kids diagnosed with it this year were admitted to hospital intensive care units and hooked up to machines to help them breathe. The condition has been likened to polio, a dreaded paralyzing illness that once struck tens of thousands of U.S. children a year. Those outbreaks ended after a polio vaccine became available in the 1950s. Investigators of the current outbreak have ruled out polio, finding no evidence of that virus in recent cases. (Bloomberg) — Smartphones, tablets and video games are physically changing the brains of adolescents, early results from an ongoing $300 million study funded by the National Institute of Health have shown, according to a report by “60 Minutes.” Scientists will follow more than 11,000 nine- to 10-year-olds for a decade to see how childhood experiences impact the brain and affect emotional development and mental health.

The first bits of data suggest that the onslaught of tech screens has been transformative for young people — and maybe not for the better. In brain scans of 4,500 children, daily screen usage of more than seven hours showed premature thinning of the brain cortex, the outermost layer that processes information from the physical world. Though the difference was significant from participants who spent less screen time, NIH study director Gaya Dowling cautioned against drawing a conclusion.

(WND) – Officials at a Catholic Church in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, say the city has forced them to remove a Nativity scene display from public property.  Officials ordered the St. Edmond Catholic Church to remove the scene after it was placed near the Rehoboth Bandstand. Rehoboth Beach Communications Director Krys Johnson said the city had not given the church permission to put up the display. The church has a separate Nativity scene on its property but wanted another display in a more prominent area.

“I’m not going to back down from what I believe to be true,” said the Rev. William Cocco of the St. Edmond Catholic Church, who is fighting to keep the crèche on display. “It’s sad and ridiculous that we’re having a fight about this. This PC (politically correct) attitude has gotten ridiculous.” Representatives of St. Edmond Catholic Church said the church received informal permission from the city Sunday to put the crèche on display, with the condition that other religions be represented.

While Beijing experienced one of the coldest December days on record, residents of the city of Mohe lived through the city’s first-ever Red warning for cold weather. High temperatures in China’s capital Beijing were held close to -6 °C (21 °F) on December 7, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski. However, wind chill made it feel much colder, close to -18 °C (-0.4 °F).

The city’s average high temperature in December is 4 °C (39.2 °F) while the average low temperature is close to -6 °C (21.2 °F). Pydynowski said temperatures have been held under -4 °C (25 °F) on only 7 days since 2000. “Out of those days, only two had high temperatures near -6 °C (21 °F),” she said. Similar weather gripped Seoul, South Korea, on Friday. The last time both cities failed to have a high temperature above freezing was February 11 and 12.

(WGN 9) – Two men who escaped being crushed by a semi say it was the voice of God that saved them. “We heard a voice, and it was to get out of the truck and I look down and I saw a semi swerving toward us,” Jordan Cole told WJW. He was traveling with Kenneth Bryant and several other men from Montana to Philadelphia for a pastor’s conference.

The men were bringing a MudMan food truck. It’s part of a non-profit that sells hamburgers to raise money for Potter’s Field Ministries. “Providing food and other resources,” said Bryant, who recently returned from Guatemala and Uganda. The men were on the Ohio Turnpike in Newton Township on Nov. 12, around 8 p.m. when the food truck broke down. Bryant and Cole stayed with the vehicle while the others took a van to go get a repair part.

Montville Township Public Schools Superintendent Rene Rovtar confirmed in a statement to Fox News that the substitute, who has not been identified, is no longer with the K-12 district.

Rovtar previously told News 12 New Jersey that “childhood wonder associated with holidays and traditions” is special to her. The superintendent, calling the incident the Cedar Hill School the “Santa matter,” said no additional comment would be made on the topic due to “the fact that this is a personal matter.” Cedar Hill School Principal Michael Raj had previously sent a letter to parents following Thursday’s incident at the school, noting the “childhood innocence of the holiday season.”

(CBN News) – Churches in Austin, Texas may soon be forced to hire homosexual and transgender employees, including pastors, if a city ordinance is implemented.  The city says it guarantees “the opportunity for each person to obtain employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age or disability.”  The Houston-based US Pastor Council and the Texas Values

organization is suing the city in federal court over the code. Both groups argue that the ordinance forces churches to go against their biblical beliefs and does not include a religious exemption for churches in Austin that refuse to hire homosexual or transgender people as employees, including pastors.  Austin city officials are not backing down. They defend the ordinance which basically says churches have no right to insist their employees accept and practice a church’s teachings on homosexuality.

Peter Vlaming, who teaches French at West Point High School, is presently on paid administrative leave pending a public hearing by the school board later this week. “I won’t use male pronouns with a female student that now identifies as a male though I did agree

to use the new masculine name but avoid female pronouns,” stated Vlaming. “Administration is requiring that I use masculine pronouns in any and every context at school. I was informed that any further instances of using female pronouns would be grounds for termination.” Supporters of Vlaming launched an online petition demanding that the teacher not be fired, which as of Wednesday morning has gotten more than 1,100 signatures.

(Charisma Magazine) – I remember reading an article about a man who avoided the beach in the summer after admitting his addiction to pornography to his wife. He concluded that being around people who were barely covered often triggered his compulsion. Other cases involved a man who stopped visiting certain sections at a local video store and a woman who stopped reading romance novels. Both concluded that viewing this material was stimulating lust. What about the gym and the yoga pants trend? Enough said! How badly do you want freedom? Although these examples may seem extreme, to counter lust as believers, we must

avoid places, people or things that stimulate that desire. I find it ironic that most of the Christian books that were written over a hundred years ago have a strong emphasis on holiness and obedience, but today we find these words offensive. We want New Testament power but not New Testament holiness. For example, in his book on holiness, J.C. Ryle (1816–1900) said we must stand guard as a soldier on enemy ground. The problem is that many love the world and have a hard time separating. They believe in heaven, but they don’t truly long for it. They say they fear God, but they don’t live like it. They indulge temptation rather than fight it. They enjoy sin rather than confront it. And they compromise rather than conquer.

(The Telegraph) – A blood test can detect cancer within just 10 minutes, scientists have found, raising hopes that hard-to-spot diseases could be picked up early when treatment is most effective. Currently, doctors use symptoms and a raft of tests and biopsies to determine if cancer is present which can sometimes take months. The new method from the University of Queensland looks for differences in the genetic code of cancerous and healthy cells.

The team found that the DNA of cancer cells sticks strongly to nanoparticles of gold giving a quick indication of whether the disease is present or not to the naked eye. And because the same changes occur in all cancerous cells, the test should work on all cancer types, the team believes. Writing in the journal Nature Communications Dr. Matt Trau, Professor of Chemistry, said: “Our approach enabled non-invasive cancer detection, i.e a blood test, in 10 min from plasma-derived DNA samples with excellent specificity.

(CBS News) – A powerful earthquake that struck in the southern Pacific Ocean on Wednesday sent jitters around the region after authorities warned of possible tsunamis, but there were no initial reports of destructive waves or major damage. The magnitude 7.5 quake hit in the afternoon near New Caledonia at a shallow depth, where earthquakes are generally more damaging. It was felt as far away as Vanuatu.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said tsunami waves of between 3 and 10 feet were possible along some coasts of New Caledonia and Vanuatu before later lifting the warning. Judith Rostain, a freelance journalist based in New Caledonia’s capital Noumea, said there was no damage to the city and that the threat of a tsunami appeared to have passed. She said the situation remained unclear on the east coast and scattered outer islands.

David Allen said he found out about the situation last week from his child who attends Robious Middle School. “It just seems like… everywhere you look everyone’s afraid of stepping on someone’s toes or everything is being so sensitive,” Allen said. (ADN) – Small aftershocks continued Monday from Friday’s 7.0 earthquake, with more than 1,800 measured by early evening. A total of 153 measured greater than 3.0, 18 were at 4.0 or greater and five were greater than 5.0, according to the Alaska Earthquake Center. Dozens of small earthquakes rattled Anchorage and Mat-Su on Sunday night and early Monday — and a few bigger ones probably caused unwanted wake-ups. Twin magnitude 3.5 shakers struck at 9:51 and 9:52 p.m.

Sunday, the first 10 miles north of Anchorage and the second 18 miles northwest of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, according to the U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Science Center. A magnitude 3.4 quake was measured 10 miles northwest of Anchorage at 10:40 p.m. A 3.5 hit at 1:30 a.m., 17 miles northwest of JBER, followed by a magnitude 3.8 just before 3:20 a.m. 13 miles northwest of JBER. Twin 3.2 quakes followed just before 6 a.m., one near Anchorage and the other near Wasilla.

(13 ABC) – The Newaygo Public School district could face legal action if three wise men and a star aren’t removed from one of the district’s buildings. A state association involved in separation of church and state cases put the district on notice this week. The issue and possible removal of the display is becoming the talk of Newaygo as residents prepare for Friday night’s Christmas walk. Residents say the display goes back more than 40 years.

“Here it’s a tradition,” said Stacie Johnson. “You can see it coming from White Cloud.” Johnson and more than 2,000 others have signed an online petition asking the school district to leave the wise men and star in place. “Majority are saying leave it alone,” said Johnson. The Michigan Association of Civil Rights Activists believes the display violates the U.S. Constitution. “It clearly conveys the message of the Christian nativity,” said Mitch Kahle, with MACRA. The association gets involved in separation of church and state issues around the state on behalf of local citizens.

(CBS SF Area) – The South Bay’s biggest holiday celebration appears to have fallen victim to thieves after someone robbed ornaments off a tree at Christmas in the Park in San Jose that had its decorations sponsored by a local Satanic group. The crime happened just two days after the tree went up with the thieves apparently targeting a specific tree. The tree targeted was decorated with pentagrams and other demonic symbols, its decorations sponsored by a Bay Area Satanic organization.

Some may wonder why a Satanic group would have a decorated tree at a holiday display like Christmas in the Park, but not the organizers of the event or the people who set up the tree. Bay Area Satanist Simone Chavoor and her friend Tabitha spent Wednesday afternoon sprucing up the tree that was recently robbed. The group decorated the tree on Black Friday, complete with an elaborate goat head as a tree topper. Two days, later the topper and other satanic ornaments had vanished.

(PNW) – The nascent Sanhedrin released a declaration to the 70 nations for Hanukkah to be read at a ceremony in Jerusalem on the last day of the holiday. The ceremony will include the consecration of a stone altar prepared for use in the Third Temple. The declaration is intended as an invitation to the nations to participate in the Temple and to receive its blessings. The altar is currently in the form of loose stone blocks ready to be transported to the Temple Mount and stored in a manner that will enable them to be transported and assembled at a moment’s notice.

When complete, the altar will be a square nine feet on each side and five feet tall, and includes a ramp for the priests to ascend. The decision to prepare the blocks and all the details of their composition is the result of a long study performed by the members of the Sanhedrin in conjunction with the Temple Institute. The stones are made of aerated concrete and are fit for use in the Temple. There are plans underway to prepare a new set made of actual stones which are considered the ideal material from which to build the altar.

I am being convinced that we need to come to God like a child every day. What a wonderfully humbling experience to grow in His Word. If the enemy is telling you that you don’t need to read the Bible as much as you used to, you need to read it more. Have you ever thought, I have read the

Bible so many times that I have a pretty good handle on what it is saying. Therefore I don’t need to read it as much? Have you ever said to yourself, “I have read that certain Scripture so many times that I am sure I know what that verse means. Besides, I have heard others share that they got the same meaning from it”? Recently, I sensed the Lord saying to me, “There is a dangerous mindset in many of My people when it comes to receiving fresh revelation from My Word. (Fox News) – An all-male a cappella group at Princeton University announced Friday it would temporarily scrap a “Little Mermaid” song from its set list over concerns about consent and misogyny. Wesley Brown, a senior and president of the Tigertones, wrote in a letter to The Daily Princetonian the band will try to rework the performance for the song “Kiss The Girl” – which was written for the animated Disney movie. During the group’s performance, the singers would call up a man and woman from the audience. The two audience members would dance and then the singers would encourage one audience member to kiss the

A quick search on Google defines a shaman as “a person regarded as having access to, and influence in, the world of good and evil spirits, especially among some peoples of northern Asia and North America.

(CNBC) – Regional banks dipped into bear market territory Tuesday as long-term interest rates sank amid concerns of waning economic activity and falling inflation expectations. Shares of SunTrust, Citizens Financial Group, Fifth Third Bancorp and Regions Financial all fell more than 5 percent in afternoon trading as the yield on the benchmark 30-year Treasury bond dropped 10 basis points and the yield on

the 10-year Treasury note fell 7 basis points. PNC Financial also dropped 5 percent and was on pace for its worst day since Oct. 12. The SPDR S&P Regional Banking ETF lost 5 percent and fell into bear market territory, more than 20 percent off its all-time high notched in June. Mariah Parker, a 26-year-old doctorate student who was elected to the Athens-Clarke County commission, said that she turned down two other options presented by officials at the swearing in before she picked the autobiography.

(USA Today) – A preschool in Hawaii is taking a closer look at its snack policy after three children took sips of Pine-Sol. Officials say a classroom assistant at a Honolulu preschool mistook the household cleaner for apple juice. Paramedics were called to the Kilohana United Methodist Church Preschool to evaluate three girls, ages 4 and 5, on Tuesday morning.

Paramedics found no signs of trauma or sickness, and the girls’ parents declined to take them to the hospital. The preschool says only sips were taken before the lead teacher realized the liquid was not apple juice. Inspectors say the assistant picked up the container of yellow-brown liquid off a cleanup cart in the kitchen and poured it into cups. The cleaner was its original container and properly labeled.

(CBN News) – Florida is one of a handful of states that passed laws in 2018 requiring or permitting schools and other public buildings to prominently post the words “In God We Trust.” Arizona also granted their schools the right to post the state’s motto in English, which appears in Latin on the Grand Canyon state seal – “God Enriches.” Now other state legislatures want to signify God’s presence in their schools and public buildings as well.  Some state lawmakers are trying to allow or require that the Ten Commandments be

posted in schools and public places. Alabama voters passed an initiative in November permitting the Ten Commandments to be posted on state property. Backers of the measure are hopeful it will become law and if challenged, the conservative majority on the US Supreme Court would approve it. Arkansas passed a similar law to Florida’s in 2017. Arkansas state Rep. Jim Dotson sponsored the measure which required the posting of “In God We Trust” in every classroom. He has since helped other lawmakers write similar laws.

New Poll Reveals What Denomination Drinks More Alcohol Than All the Rest
(FaithWire) – Among the Protestant denominations in the U.S., Lutherans consume the most alcohol, according to a newly released survey from LifeWay Research. The poll, which was published Tuesday, revealed nearly 75 percent of Lutherans answered affirmatively when asked if they drink alcohol. At 23 percent, Pentecostals were the least likely to imbibe. Sixty-two percent of Methodist respondents said they drink, while 33 percent of Baptists and 43 percent of non-denominational believers responded with the same answer. Overall, the survey,

which comprised answers from 1,010 American churchgoers, showed 59 percent of Protestant Christians in the U.S. said they don’t drink alcohol. Forty-one percent said the opposite. “While alcohol consumption continues to be seen as mainstream in the United States, churchgoers’ attitudes about drinking haven’t changed much in the past decade,” LifeWay Research executive director Scott McConnell said. “Churchgoers’ perspectives on alcohol are not changing very fast. (Anchorage Daily News) – A preliminary magnitude 6.7 earthquake shook Anchorage and much of Southcentral Alaska Friday morning, sending workers to seek shelter beneath their desks. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was centered just north of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. The earthquake was strong enough to knock items off store shelves and rattle homes throughout the region. Books fell off bookshelves; in the offices of the Anchorage Daily News, ceiling tiles fell.

The tsunami warning center in Palmer has issued a warning for Southcentral Alaska including Kenai, Kodiak and the shores of Cook Inlet. Further bulletins are being released on http://tsunami.gov. At 9:05 a.m., the National Tsunami Warning Center in Palmer confirmed its prior warning, stating that “coastal areas of Cook Inlet and (the) southern Kenai Peninsula” were covered by the alert. Tsunami activity, if it existed, was expected to reach the Kodiak archipelago by 9:25 a.m. and Seward at 9:30 a.m. Homer could see tsunami activity by 11:45 a.m.

(Reuters) – The Ebola outbreak in eastern Congo is now the second biggest in history, with 426 confirmed and probable cases, the health ministry said late on Thursday. The epidemic in a volatile part of the Democratic Republic of Congo is now only surpassed by the 2013-2016 outbreak in West Africa, where more than 28,000 cases were confirmed and is bigger than an outbreak in 2000 in Uganda involving 425 cases. Ebola is believed to have killed 245 people in North Kivu and Ituri provinces where attacks by

armed groups and community resistance to health officials have hampered the response. Congo has suffered 10 Ebola outbreaks since the virus was discovered there in 1976. It spreads through contact with bodily fluids and causes hemorrhagic fever with severe vomiting, diarrhea and bleeding, and in many flare-ups, more than half of cases are fatal. “This tragic milestone clearly demonstrates the complexity and severity of the outbreak,” Michelle Gayer, Senior Director of Emergency Health at the International Rescue Committee said in a statement. “The dynamics of conflict (mean) … a protracted outbreak is … likely, and the end is not in sight.”

(Yahoo News) – Measles cases worldwide jumped more than 30 percent last year compared to 2016, with increases recorded in wealthy European countries like Germany where vaccination coverage has historically been high, the UN said Thursday. The World Health Organization said the worrying trend of resurgent measles cases was a near-global phenomenon, but the causes varied among regions. In Europe, experts

blamed the problem in part on complacency and misinformation about a vaccine proven to be both effective and safe. Martin Friede, WHO’s director of immunization, vaccines and biologicals told reporters that “supposed experts making accusations against the vaccine without any evidence” has had an impact on parents’ decisions. He specifically cited medically baseless claims linking the measles vaccine to autism, which have been spread in part on social media by members of the so-called “anti-vax” movement.

(CNBC News) – Marriott International said on Friday that hackers illegally accessed its Starwood Hotels brand’s reservation database since 2014, potentially exposing personal information on about 500 million guests. Shares of the company fell nearly 6 percent to about $115 in trading before the bell. The company said for 327 million guests, personal information compromised could include passport details, phone

numbers and email addresses. For some others, it could include credit card information. The company said it learned about the breach after an internal security tool sent an alert on Sept. 8. On further investigation, the hotel chain learned data had been hacked long before. The company, which bought Starwood in 2016, said it had reported the incident to law enforcement and had begun notifying regulatory authorities.

A House Resolution introduced Wednesday, Nov. 28 urges food establishments and franchises to stop gender classification of kid’s meal toys.State Rep. Leslie Love, D-Detroit, is the primary sponsor. The resolution has 14 co-sponsors. “Often, the designated ‘boy toys’ are action figures or building toys; typically in primary colors, whereas ‘girl toys’ are often stuffed

(The Mercury News) – A 3.9-magnitude earthquake shook the California desert near the Mexican border on Thursday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. The quake, at 5:55 a.m., was centered in the Borrego Valley 12 miles southwest of the Salton Sea.

An earthquake enthusiast who uses the handle @matarikipax saw the curious zigzags and posted images of them to Twitter. That small action kicked off another ripple of sorts, as researchers around the world attempted to suss out the source of the waves. Was it a meteor strike? A submarine volcano eruption? The Colorado Department of Revenue, which oversees the Division of Motor Vehicles, decided to make the change, effective Nov. 30,

after two court cases in which judges found in favor of Colorado people attempting to change their sex on government identification. The department needed to adopt a policy in line with those decisions to avoid the possibility of being sued, the department’s executive director, Michael Hartman, said in an exclusive interview with The Denver Post. “This is an important step for the state of Colorado that the state documents reflect our values,” Hartman said. “People are people no matter their sex identification.”

(WSJ) – Life expectancy for Americans fell again last year, despite growing recognition of the problems driving the decline and federal and local funds invested in stemming them. Data the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released on Thursday show life expectancy fell by one-tenth of a year, to 78.6 years, pushed down by the sharpest annual increase in suicides in nearly a decade and a continued rise in deaths from powerful opioid drugs like fentanyl.

Influenza, pneumonia and diabetes also factored into last year’s increase. Economists and public-health experts consider life expectancy to be an important measure of a nation’s prosperity. The 2017 data paint a dark picture of health and well-being in the U.S., reflecting the effects of addiction and despair, particularly among young and middle-aged adults, as well as diseases plaguing an aging population and people with lower access to health care.

The company’s “Hateful conduct policy” says Twitter’s mission is to “give everyone the power to create and share ideas and information, and to express their opinions and beliefs without barriers,” with special concern for “the voices of those who have been historically marginalized.”

According to court documents, James’ gender identity depends on which parent he is staying with. He dresses as a little girl only when he is with his mother, who calls him “Luna.”

However, Jeffrey told The Federalist his son insists on wearing boy’s clothes and “violently refuses to wear girl’s clothes at my home.” The mother accuses Jeffrey of “emotionally abusive behavior” towards James by refusing to affirm his identity as a girl. Court documents list at least one example of “abuse,” which includes cutting James’ hair and “other non-affirming actions.”

The millennium is the kingdom of God on earth for 1,000 years of peace and prosperity with Yeshua ruling as King (Rev. 20). The term “tribulation” is connected to the time of Jacob’s “trouble” in the Hebrew prophets (Jer. 30:7, Dan. 12:1). During this time there is not only difficulty but also revival, evangelism, supernatural protection, purification of the church and the restoration of Israel.
The Second Coming is a “last minute” intervention by Yeshua as commander of the armies of YHVH to defeat the forces of evil (Rev. 19). At that time, demons will be driven out, the dead of the first resurrection raised and true believers supernaturally “transported” to welcome Yeshua back to earth.

Popular Charismatic Pastor-Turned-Marijuana Smuggler: ‘I Fell Off the Way’
(Charisma News) – Charismatic pastor John Lee Bishop was sentenced Monday to five years in prison for smuggling marijuana from Mexico to the U.S. up to 20 times. “One hundred percent, your judgment is what God wants,” Bishop told the judge. “I fell off the way. But my God has never forsaken me.” Bishop, former pastor of Living Hope Church in Vancouver, Washington, was arrested almost a year ago after a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer stopped him and found marijuana hidden in Bishop’s wheel well.

When police searched his car further, they found a total of 105 packages of marijuana in secret compartments. The 55-year-old pastor pled guilty to charges of drug smuggling earlier this year. Court filings allege that Bishop’s wife, Michelle, and son, David, were also involved in smuggling the drugs when the family lived in Mexico. The Columbian reports that the couple spent the money on cruises and trips to theme parks.

Hillsong UK Removes London Carols Promo Video Depicting Wise Men Visiting Baby Jesus in Tavern
(Christian News Network) – A Hillsong branch in the United Kingdom has removed from YouTube a promotional video for its annual Christmas musical that depicted the wise men arriving at a Bethlehem inn to see the baby Jesus, and upon entering, finding an environment with much drinking and dancing just feet from the Christ child. The “three kings” video promoted Hillsong’s “London Carols” program, scheduled for Dec. 16. According to a description of the production, the “extravaganza follows the timeless story of the three wise men as they travel through different continents and eras,
from the plains of Africa, through to the golden age of rock and roll and a space-aged future on their quest to deliver gifts to the newborn King.” The YouTube advertisement featured the three wise men arriving at the inn, singing the carol “We Three Kings of Orient Are” to announce their purpose to an eccentric woman who answers the door. As they are pulled inside, they find Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus—as well as much dancing and merrymaking, complete with patrons at the bar holding large mugs of beer and servers on top of tables.
