Urgent prayer req: Karla Chip Brogden's wife

Dear Elaine,

Thank you for praying for Karla. Her first few days home from the hospital were very difficult because she was coming off the pain medicine. But she has come through that now and is getting around the house with help. She is still very sore and has some numbness in her leg. She has a follow up appointment with the doctor in a couple of weeks and plans to begin physical therapy a few weeks after that.
We would like to thank you for all the emails and snail mail. We realize many of you are experiencing difficult circumstances as well. Please know that we are praying in agreement with you, for your needs to be met, and for God's Will and Purpose to be fulfilled in your life.

NEWS From Chip Brogden.Dear Elaine,



My wife Karla had a successful operation yesterday to repair the herniated and fragmented disc in her back. We stayed overnight in recovery and they discharged her this afternoon. She is, of course, very sore from the procedure itself, but the intense sciatic and lower back pain is gone. She will require months of physical therapy to strengthen her back and legs but she is now walking with assistance and able to sit for short periods of time.

Everyone - the volunteer firemen who took her down the flight of
stairs in our house, the paramedics who transported her (twice),
the Emergency Room staff, the nurses aides, nurses, physician
assistants, and doctors - were caring, attentive, concerned, and
helpful. Most of all, because of your prayers and the grace of
God, they provided excellent care and they got the job done.

We thank you for your intercessions and words of encouragement for
our family during these difficult four weeks. It will be a long recovery for Karla but it appears that the worse is over.

Thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement for my wife. Karla is still in the hospital under heavy medication for pain. Tomorrow she will be transferred by ambulance to a larger facility for surgery. I will update you again after the operation.
