Re: ZAKA Tel Aviv
DAY 416 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
Last week, Rabbi Zvi Kogan, 28, a Chabad emissary based in UAE, was abducted and tragically murdered by terrorists in Dubai. Rabbi Kogan dedicated his life to establishing and growing Jewish life in the Emirates, founding the first Jewish education center in the Gulf, and making kosher food widely available. His loss is a devastating blow to the Jewish community worldwide.
On Sunday morning, Emirati authorities recovered his body and informed his grieving family. As soon as we received word, Zaka Tel-Aviv mobilized a group of volunteers to Dubai. Our team worked tirelessly, coordinating logistics, maintaining constant contact with the family and local authorities, and serving on the situation assessment team.
Our volunteers ensured Rabbi Kogan’s body was released with dignity, returned to Israel for a proper burial, and offered their assistance in any required matters. This is the sacred and vital work we commit to, ensuring every life is honored and every family receives the support they need during their darkest hours.
This tragedy underscores the dangerous rise of antisemitism around the world. As Israel is fighting its battle, it is more critical than ever for us to stand united, supporting one another through strength and action. Zaka remains committed to this mission, whether on the frontlines of terror in Israel or responding to crises affecting Jewish communities worldwide.

Six Golani Soldiers Killed in Southern Lebanon
Zaka Tel-Aviv
DAY 405 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded moments ago. Six brave soldiers from the IDF's Golani Brigade, aged 19 to 22, fell in battle against Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon. The soldiers, part of the Golani 51st Battalion, made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in one of the heaviest days of the ongoing operation.
The IDF’s ground operations in southern Lebanon have intensified, with Israeli troops moving deeper into the region, facing brutal resistance. This loss of life is a stark reminder of the everyday dangers our soldiers face, with every mission coming at a grave cost. May their memories be a blessing to us all.
This attack, however, is only one of many tragedies that our soldiers and civilians are enduring daily. Just today, a car ramming near Modi’in Illit wounded two more soldiers. Every day, more lives are affected by the violence. The suffering and uncertainty weigh heavily on us, and we stand in solidarity with all those impacted.
Zaka Tel-Aviv is working tirelessly on the frontlines, providing critical support to both the fallen and the living. But the challenges ahead are immense. With more operations underway and civilians caught in the crossfire, your help is urgently needed to continue this work.

DAY 402 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
Israel came under severe fire this morning in one of the largest Hezbollah rocket barrages to date. Over 165 rockets targeted northern Israel, wounding seven people, including a toddler. This relentless assault is shocking in scale—even following the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, we didn’t experience an onslaught of this magnitude.
The situation is incredibly volatile, especially with new reports that defense officials fear Iran is preparing to act against Israel before the U.S. presidential transition in January. Intelligence agencies are voicing urgent concerns that Iran may try to exploit the current political window to escalate attacks, knowing this could be their last opportunity to strike without swift intervention.
The coming months are shaping up to be some of the most dangerous Israel has faced. Zaka Tel-Aviv is on the ground, ready to respond to these growing threats, helping our communities and providing crucial emergency support to those affected by these attacks. But we cannot do it alone.

DAY 397 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
Last night’s U.S. election concluded with Donald Trump as the victor. While this outcome may ultimately lead to strengthened U.S. support for Israel, the next three months could be critical—and perilous. In an interview this morning, former Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Michal Oren, shared a troubling insight: with the current U.S. administration in transition, Iran may rush to complete its nuclear weapon development before Trump takes office, as it might see this as a rare window of opportunity without immediate intervention from the U.S.
This scenario is deeply concerning for Israel. Iran, which has vowed to destroy Israel, may see the current geopolitical moment as a fleeting chance to advance its ambitions unchecked, putting Israel at unprecedented risk. With tensions already high, this is a precarious time, and our enemies are pressured to act swiftly and exploit this critical period.
We hope and pray that these changes in U.S. leadership will ultimately strengthen Israel’s position. But for the coming months, we remain in a heightened state of vigilance and preparation. Zaka Tel-Aviv is on high alert, actively supporting those affected by ongoing attacks and ready to respond wherever needed. Your support has never been more crucial.

DAY 395 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
We’re writing with critical updates on a rapidly escalating threat from Iran. According to recent reports from The Wall Street Journal, Iran has informed regional diplomats of its plans for a powerful, complex attack on Israel in retaliation for Israel's October 26 airstrikes, which severely damaged strategic Iranian missile production facilities and air defenses.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has vowed a “crushing response,” involving new, advanced weaponry and stronger warheads. This time, the Iranian military itself will be directly involved, marking an escalation beyond previous assaults led solely by the IRGC. Sources close to the situation say the Iraqi territory potentially being used as a launch site for the attack.
The timing is equally concerning, as Iran’s plans reportedly aim to strike around the U.S. election but before a new administration can take office, a window that may test shifting U.S. foreign policy dynamics. With tensions mounting, Israel’s readiness to respond has taken on new urgency, as any further escalation would trigger a conflict of unprecedented scope.
In these volatile days, Zaka Tel-Aviv remains vigilant, preparing to respond to any crisis affecting our communities. Your support now is vital in strengthening Israel’s resilience and ensuring rapid, essential emergency response across the country. Please consider donating to help us continue this critical work.

Iranian Attack on Israel Expected Within Days
Zaka Tel-Aviv
DAY 391 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
Moments ago, a critical report from Israeli intelligence warned that Iran is preparing to launch a large-scale assault on Israel within the next 72 hours or so. This escalation is expected to involve a coordinated wave of drones and ballistic missiles, deployed from Iranian-backed militias in Iraq. This tactic, using Iraqi soil as a launchpad, is intended to shield Iran from direct retaliation, a deeply concerning strategy.
This potential strike follows Iran’s recent attack last month, when over 200 missiles targeted Israel, prompting a powerful Israeli response against strategic military sites in Iran. Now, Iran’s foreign ministry has vowed to use “all available tools” to retaliate further, and this planned assault, coordinated to erupt just before the U.S. election, indicates Tehran’s intention to test the boundaries of Israel’s defenses amid a volatile geopolitical landscape.
The gravity of this situation cannot be overstated. This is a dangerous and rapidly escalating conflict, with Israel’s defenses bracing for a catastrophic strike from its most lethal adversary.
Zaka Tel-Aviv remains on high alert, ready to respond to emergency scenarios, assist in evacuations, and ensure the safety of civilians under attack. Zaka Tel-Aviv DAY 389 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
This morning, Israel has been struck with more devastating news. The IDF has confirmed the loss of four young soldiers in northern Gaza, killed in the line of duty while conducting operations against Hamas in Jabalya. Among these brave men was Captain Yehonatan (Joni) Keren, just 22 years old from the moshav of Moledet in Lower Galilee. Alongside him, Staff-Sergeants Nisim Meytal, 20, Aviv Gilboa, 21, and Naor Haimov, 22, made the ultimate sacrifice. May their memory be a blessing.
This tragic loss reflects the heavy price that Israel has paid in its ongoing defense. Defense Ministry figures now show that more than 12,000 Israelis have been wounded during this war—many of them young reservists aged 18 to 30. They represent the spirit and courage of our nation, standing on the front lines with resilience and dedication.
Today, as we grieve, we remain committed to supporting these wounded heroes and all those impacted by the conflict. DAY 387 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
This morning, Israel launched a series of targeted airstrikes on Iranian military sites, marking a major escalation in the conflict. This unprecedented step was carried out in response to Iran’s recent barrage of ballistic missiles aimed at Israel. Explosions rocked the Iranian capital, Tehran, as well as the cities of Karaj, Isfahan, and Shiraz, with strikes focusing on missile manufacturing facilities, surface-to-air missile sites, and other critical military capabilities.
This event is significant, as it is the first time Israel has openly struck within Iranian territory—a conflict on this scale hasn’t been seen since Iran’s 1980s war with Iraq. While Iran claims only limited damage, the scale of the strikes and the targets involved suggest substantial impacts to their missile capabilities. The strikes continued for 4 hours, with waves of fire raining down on key military facilities. Iran has since closed its airspace, and more details are still emerging.
With Iran expected to respond swiftly, the situation is rapidly evolving, and the potential for a full-scale war with one of Israel’s most formidable enemies is now very real.
As we brace for what comes next, Zaka Tel-Aviv is prepared to assist civilians, provide emergency response, and support Israel’s resilience in the face of these escalations. Please support us now to help us continue our vital work in these uncertain times

DAY 383 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
Earlier today, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant doubled down on the seriousness of Israel’s planned response to Iran. While visiting an airforce base, Gallant told the pilots and air crews, “After we strike in Iran, everyone will understand what you did in the preparation and training process.” His words underscore the gravity of the situation and signal the imminent possibility of military action against Iran and its proxies.
Gallant’s statement comes as Israel continues to prepare for its response to Iran’s major ballistic missile attack on October 1, which sent most of Israel into bomb shelters. Iran launched 200 ballistic missiles, causing damage to military bases and residential areas, though fortunately, no significant casualties were reported. This attack was Tehran’s retaliation for Israeli strikes in Lebanon that killed Hezbollah’s top leadership and a blast in July that killed Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
The stakes are high. Israel has been preparing for years for a potential confrontation with Iran, with extensive training exercises aimed at long-range strikes. But the leak of classified US documents revealing Israel’s preparations for a possible strike on Iran has further complicated matters. Despite the leak, Israel is undeterred and is moving military assets in place for what could be a critical moment in the ongoing conflict.
The situation remains incredibly dangerous, and we need your help. Zaka Tel-Aviv is working around the clock to support our communities in the face of these threats. Please donate now to help us continue our vital work during these challenging times

Hostage Deals & Iran Threat
Zaka Tel-Aviv
DAY 381 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
Significant updates have emerged over the weekend, including deeply troubling report with devastating details about the six hostages who were brutally murdered in a tunnel in Rafah at the end of August (Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eden Yerushalmi, Ori Danino, Alex Lobanov, Carmel Gat, and Almog Sarusi). They were used as human shields for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, forced to survive for months on nothing but energy bars until they were executed. They were too weak to be moved when Sinwar fled.
At the moment, Israel is simultaneously engaged in two distinct efforts to secure the release of hostages still held by Hamas. One proposed deal could lead to the release of five hostages in exchange for a ceasefire lasting two weeks.
Tensions with Iran grow stronger. Reports have surfaced that US intelligence on Israel’s planned strike against Iran was allegedly leaked online by a pro-Iran Telegram account. This leak has complicated Israel’s strategy and added further volatility to an already fragile situation.
We at Zaka Tel-Aviv continue to do everything we can to support the people of Israel during these dangerous times. Your support is needed now more than ever to help us continue our critical work.

Re: ZAKA Tel Aviv
Zaka Tel-Aviv
DAY 380 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza and the mastermind behind the brutal October 7 attack on Israel, has been eliminated in a significant military strike. This is a major victory for Israel, as Sinwar was a top figure in Hamas, directing its operations and violence against Israeli civilians for years. His elimination deals a significant blow to Hamas, given his central role in the group's military operations and brutal strategies.
However, this comes with a serious and concerning development from Iran. Just hours after the elimination of Sinwar, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed that Hamas remains “alive” despite Sinwar's death and pledged revenge. Khamenei emphasized that the resistance against Israel would continue unabated and that Hamas will remain strong. This raises the specter of retaliatory attacks from Hamas and its backers, including Hezbollah, with Iran vowing to support these groups in their fight against Israel.
In the context of these threats, the situation remains extremely volatile. While Sinwar's death marks a positive development for Israel, the possibility of an immediate and harsh retaliation from Iran and its proxy forces like Hezbollah cannot be ignored.
Both Iran and Hezbollah have been consistent in their threats to destroy Israel, and Sinwar's death is likely to escalate tensions further.

30-Day Ultimatum on Gaza
DAY 376 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
The White House has just issued a warning to Israel: Israel has one month to significantly improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza or risk losing US military support. The ultimatum comes with a list of demands, including allowing 350 aid trucks to enter Gaza daily and ensuring that northern Gaza is not "isolated."
This threat comes at a critical moment, with the US questioning whether Israel is using US-supplied weapons in accordance with international law. As tensions escalate, Israel's dependence on US weapons to fight its wars cannot be overstated. Meanwhile, terror attacks are increasing, and Iran continues to threaten Israel’s very existence.

DAY 375 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
Drone attacks have become a serious issue for Israel in the ongoing war with Hezbollah. According to the IDF, 221 out of 1,200 drones have penetrated our air defenses since the start of the war—many with deadly consequences. Despite efforts to solve the drone problem for months, success has been limited, and the threat remains very real.
Tragically, last night we lost four soldiers in a deadly Hezbollah drone strike on a Golani Brigade training base near Binyamina. Sgt. Omri Tamari, Sgt. Yosef Hieb, Sgt. Yoav Agmon, and Sgt. Amitai Alon—all just 19 years old were killed while in infantry training at the base. May their memory be a blessing.
The tensions continue to escalate, and the situation remains extremely dangerous. In these uncertain times, Zaka Tel-Aviv is on high alert, providing essential emergency services and support to those affected by war and terror. DAY 373 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
Just as we completed Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year, we have been struck with devastating news moments ago. In an unprecedented attack, a Hezbollah drone struck deep into Israeli territory near Binyamina, wounding 67 people, with some in critical condition. This was a part of a coordinated assault where two drones were launched from Lebanon under the cover of a rocket barrage. While one drone was intercepted over the sea, the other penetrated Israeli airspace, crashing in a populated area without any alarms being activated. Details are still emerging as authorities continue to assess the full scope of the damage.
After a series of milestones Israel was able to achieve in Lebanon, many may think that Israel is close to winning this war and that the end is near. However, the reality on the ground is very different. The situation remains volatile, with our enemies escalating their attacks in unpredictable ways. Tonight’s drone strike is a stark reminder of the ongoing danger and the uncertainty that lies ahead.

Dear Elaine,
Moments ago, Yemen launched ballistic missiles at Israel. Sirens were reportedly heard central Israel including Tel Aviv and explosions were reported over Jerusalem. While details are still emerging, it remains unclear if anyone was hit at this time. What we do know is that Zaka Tel-Aviv volunteers are already prepared and ready to respond to any potential strike locations. We will keep you updated as we learn more.

Today, we also pause to reflect on the tragic events of October 7th, 2023. Exactly one year ago, Hamas launched a horrific attack, killing 1,400 innocent people and capturing dozens of hostages—many of whom are still held in Gaza. Zaka Tel-Aviv has been involved from the very beginning, and throughout the war. Our volunteers worked tirelessly to recover victims and provide dignified burials amidst the devastation.

DAY 366 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
Tomorrow marks one year since the tragic October 7th attack, when Hamas terrorists launched an unprecedented and highly coordinated surprise assault on Israel. On that dark day, 1,400 innocent lives were brutally taken, and dozens of hostages were captured, many of whom are still being held in Gaza.
Zaka Tel-Aviv played a crucial role in the aftermath, working tirelessly to recover and identify victims, ensuring their dignified burial amid the chaos and devastation. As we grieve those lost, we find ourselves in another chapter of this ongoing war, with terror threatening us from all sides. Every day, rockets rain down on Israel, and acts of terror continue to claim more lives.
Just earlier today, a new tragedy struck. A terrorist attack at the Beersheba Central Bus Station left one dead and nine others wounded. Among the victims was 19-year-old Israel Border Police officer, Shira Chaya Suslik, who was critically injured and sadly succumbed to her wounds at the hospital. She leaves behind her parents and three siblings. May her memory be a blessing.
The terrorist, an Israeli citizen of Bedouin background, opened fire on civilians at the bus station, inflicting serious injuries on several others. This incident serves as another reminder of the constant threat Israel faces.
We are in the midst of a war for survival. As the situation escalates, with terror attacks and rocket barrages continuing, Zaka Tel-Aviv remains on the front lines, providing emergency response and ensuring the dignity of those tragically lost. But we can't do it alone.

DAY 355 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
This morning, the conflict with Hezbollah took a concerning turn as the terror group launched its first-ever rocket attack on Tel Aviv. Sirens blared across the city this morning at 6:30 a.m., forcing residents into bomb shelters. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the missile, targeting Mossad headquarters. Fortunately, the missile was intercepted by the David’s Sling air defense system, preventing damage or casualties.
In addition to these concerning developments, the IDF Chief has announced that a ground operation against Hezbollah is being prepared at this very moment, signaling an inevitable escalation on all fronts.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah launched 50 missiles at the Dado military base near Safed, one of Israel’s key operational headquarters. As a result, a large brush fire also erupted near Safed after multiple rocket impacts in the forested areas.
The situation is escalating rapidly, and the threats to Israeli civilians and military are intensifying. As Israel faces these mounting challenges, Zaka Tel-Aviv is fully mobilized, ready to provide critical emergency services and support to those affected.

Dear Elaine,
As the situation in the North continues to deteriorate, Israel faces the grim reality of preparing for a likely war with Hezbollah. The intensity of fighting with Hamas in Gaza may have lessened for now, but it’s crucial that Hamas is not allowed to rebuild into a major threat. The IDF must remain flexible and prepared to respond to developments on the ground.
Meanwhile, the threat from Hezbollah is escalating. If they launch a full-scale attack, major cities like Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa would come under heavy fire, resulting in unavoidable casualties. Today, in Nahariya, non-stop sirens blared due to a Hezbollah drone attack, reminding how close this danger is.

So far, this operation has led to the elimination of 14 terrorists, and according to officials, it is likely to continue for weeks to come. Large portions of the population in Jenin have already self-evacuated in response.
Sadly, this operation has sparked strong calls for more terror and suicide bombings. Tragically, a terrorist attack claimed the lives of three police officers near Hebron yesterday. The threat level is rising, and we need to be prepared for any scenario.
Support Zaka Tel-Aviv as we continue to provide critical emergency services and support during these uncertain times.ATCH https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpRJSPZO01o&t=42s

DAY 328 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
Earlier today, the IDF launched a wide-scale operation in the West Bank, a critical step in securing the country. The operation, named “Summer Camps,” is focused on targeting the “refugee” camps that have become strongholds for Palestinian terror groups across the northern West Bank over the past three years. The terror attacks have been on the rise in recent weeks and this is the next strategic move for the country.
Many of the new details are not revealed yet. So far we know that the IDF has carried out raids and airstrikes in multiple parts of the West Bank. This significant operation involves a coordinated effort using drones, bulldozers, military and security forces, four battalions of the Israel Border Police, and an elite unit of undercover troops.

While this operation is necessary to combat the growing threat of terrorism, there is no doubt it will further stir current military conflicts. We must remain vigilant and prepared for any potential escalation. Please to support Zaka Tel-Aviv once again, as we continue to provide essential emergency services and support to those affected by this war. We really need your help to stay prepared.

DAY 325 OF THE WAR
Dear Elaine,
As you know, yesterday, the IDF destroyed 6,000 Hezbollah rockets and drones in a massive preemptive strike. Hezbollah had planned to target strategic sites in central Tel Aviv, including Ben-Gurion Airport and the Glilot base near Herzliya, home to the Mossad headquarters and the 8,200 intelligence unit. While this strike was crucial, it is certainly too soon to assume it would prevent an all-out war in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, sirens are blaring up north again today. Rockets and drones are coming in, and Hezbollah’s retaliation is expected to continue and likely escalate. In the current conflict, predictions suggest that if the IDF went an inch too far in its attacks on Hezbollah, the Lebanese terror group would savage Israel's home front with 6,000-8,000 rockets per day and mass drone swarms.
The situation remains extremely dangerous, and Zaka Tel-Aviv is fully mobilized to respond to any emergency that arises. Our teams are on high alert, prepared to provide immediate and crucial support in the face of escalating threats. Please donate now to help us protect and support Israel.
