Reading the bible Empty Reading the Bible

I looked for this yesterday and didn't find it. Elains advice was right on.John is a good place to start. Psalm is also soothing to many. If you have any questions ask. Sometimes some of this stuff is hard to understand, especially when new. The more you read and pray about it,, the easier it will become to you. Of course the first step is Salvation. Then the Holy spirit will cause different things to you to ask and understanding will be increased. Now,,, you will not just wake up and know this stuff. It comes to you bit by bit through things you read,, hear,, and study. Main thing I can tell you is it is NOT some magic fearful thing to go through. The bible tells us salvation is easy to understand. Even a little child can understand it. It will come. Hope this makes sense to you. If you wish,, send me an e-mail and I will answer you. God bless you my new friend,, ZERICH

Hi Tikvah,
I saw your post earlier but had an errand to do.
I enjoy the Old Testament but must admit like you when I first began reading the bible found it daunting.
I would suggest and many others do say:
to start with the Gospel of John in the New Testament.
We have many threads for example Devotionals and Meditations posted here which may be of help also in understanding, please let us know how your doing and if there is any further help needed.
Blessings
Elaine.
