Herb Of The Week

Last week's herb was celery. Before that was cayenne pepper. The herb
of the week this week is also a common kitchen herb.

Clove (Eugenia caryophyllus) - The very first thing I want to talk
about my PERSONAL experience with the experience with using clove oil
for toothaches. Put a few drops of clove oil on cotton ball and apply
to sore gum and tooth. The pain *will* go away - sometimes within a
few hours!! Do <<NOT>> swallow the juice. Do *not* apply when the
gums are broken or split. Do *not* apply to an open wound. Put a few
drops in a glass of water for a mouthwash and mild anesthetic.
CAUTION: Clove oil is very strong and can cause irritation. As with
most essential oils - DO NOT SWALLOW except 1-2 drops in water for
parasites or nausea.

The first recorded use of Cloves is by the Chinese in the first
century B.C. During the Han Dynasty (207 B.C. - 220 A.D.), court
visitors were required to hold Cloves in their mouths when addressing
the emperor, so as not to offend with bad breath. Folklore says that
sucking on two whole Cloves without chewing or swallowing them helps
to curb the desire for alcohol. A few drops of the oil in water will
stop vomiting.

Dentists have used Clove oil as an oral anesthetic. They also used it
to disinfect root canals. Clove oil still is an active ingredient in
several mouthwash products and a number of over-the-counter toothache
pain-relief preparations. Cloves kill intestinal parasites and
exhibits broad anti-microbial properties against fungi and bacteria,
thus supporting its traditional use as a treatment for diarrhea,
intestinal worms, and other digestive ailments.

When trying to cleanse yourself of parasites such as fungi and worms a
good herbal mixer would be cloves, an herb known as wormwood, green
black walnut hulls garlic and red pepper.

As an aside, I recently (just yesterday) learned that research at the
famous Mayo Clinic has uncovered that about 90% of the cases of
chronic sinusitis is actually caused by a fungal infection. So I am
about to embark on a mission to rid my body of fungi. I am about to
try the same mixture for chronic sinusitis. I will be using Pau D'
Arco, Black Walnut Hull, Cloves and Wormwood. I'll keep y'all posted
on what happens. Even if I still have sinusitis, I'll be de-wormed!!
lol Right now I use Sinus Buster (a mixture of cayenne pepper, salt
water, eucalyptus, and aloe vera) and it keeps me unclogged and
feeling good. Even though folks have told me that sinus problems are
just part of living in Houston, I want to get rid of the sinus problem
permanently.


But back to cloves. Great for toothaches. Great for worms and fungal
infections such as ringworm , and athlete's foot.


But..... of course... IT'S YOUR HEALTH. Why take my word for it?
