*Devotional compiled by Jonathan Bagster*

September 30

*MORNING*

He knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as
gold. Job 23:10

He knoweth our frame. Psa. 103:14

He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. Lam. 3:33

The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them
that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from
iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of
silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to
dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel
unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto
every good work. II Tim. 2:19-21

He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the
sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto
the LORD an offering in righteousness. Mal. 3:3

I ... will refine them as silver is refined.... they shall call on my name,
and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The
LORD is my God. Zech. 13:9

*EVENING*

Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Psa. 25:4

Moses said unto the LORD, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight,
shew me now thy way, that I may know thee. And he said, My presence shall go
with thee, and I will give thee rest. Exo. 33:12-14

He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
Psa. 103:7

The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. What
man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall
choose. Psa. 25:9, 12

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy
paths. Psa. 3:5, 6

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at
thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psa. 16:11

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will
guide thee with mine eye. Psa. 32:8

The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more
unto the perfect day. Prov. 4:18 ***

The love of Christ, which passeth knowledge. Eph. 3:19

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends John 15:13

Ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet
foryour sakes he became poor, that ye through his povertv might be rich. II
Cor. 8:9

Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and
to give his life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45

Christ ... suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his
steps. I Pet. 2:21

Ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example,
that ye should do as I have done to you. John 13:14, 15

We ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. I John 3:16

*EVENING*

What things soever the Father doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. John
5:19

The LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
Prov. 2:6

I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be
able to gainsay nor resist. Luke 21:15

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart.
Psa. 27:14

My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in
weakness. II Cor. 12:9

*September 26*

*MORNING*

*A God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He.* Deut. 32:4

Him that judgeth righteously. I Pet. 2:23

We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may
receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether
it be good or bad. II Cor. 5:10

Every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Rom. 14:12

The soul that sinneth it shall die. Ezek. 18:4

Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow,
saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd. Zech. 13:7

The LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isa. 53:6

Mercy and truth are met together: righteousness and peace have kissed each
other. Psa. 85:10

Mercy rejoiceth against judgment. James 2:13

The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Rom. 6:23

A just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Isa. 45:21

Just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Rom. 3:26

Justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ
Jesus. Rom. 3:24

*EVENING*

Death is swallowed up in victory. I Cor. 15:54

Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I Cor. 15:57

Forasmuch ... as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also
himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy
him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who
through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Heb. 2:14,
15

If we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no
more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in
that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be
dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom.
6:8-11

In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom. 8:37 ***

*MORNING*

*Let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire,
wanting nothing.* James 1:4

Now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold
temptations: that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of
gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto
praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. I Pet. 1:6, 7

We glory in tribulations: ... knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and
patience, experience; and experience, hope. Rom. 5:3, 4

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of
the LORD. Lam. 3:26

Ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance. Cast not away
therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye
have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God, ye might
receive the promise. Heb. 10:34-36

Our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved
us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
comfort your hearts. II Thess. 2:16, 17

*EVENING*

God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ. Rom. 2:16

Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to
light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of
the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. I Cor. 4:5

The Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
because he is the Son of man. John 5:22, 27

The Son of God ... hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire. Rev. 2:18

They say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High? Psa.
73:11

These things thou hast done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was
altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in
order before thine eyes. Psa. 50:21

There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed neither hid, that shall
not be known. Luke 12:2

Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
Psa. 38:9

Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. Psa. 26:2 #

*September 24*

*MORNING*

*It is good for me to draw near to God.* Psa. 73:28

LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine
honour dwelleth. Psa. 26:8

A day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a door-keeper
in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psa. 84:10

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee,
that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of
thy house, even of thy holy temple. Psa. 64:5

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
Lam. 3:25

Therefore will the LORD wait that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore
will he be exalted that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of
judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. Isa. 30:18

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood
of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us; ... let
us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts
sprinkled from an evil conscience. Heb. 10:19, 20, 22

*EVENING*

Ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. II Cor. 8:9

The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John
1:14

Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips.
Psa. 45:2

All bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out
of his mouth. Luke 4:22

Ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. I Pet. 2:3

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself. I John 5:10

We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen. John 3:11

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in
him. Psa. 34:8

I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to
my taste. Song 2:3

He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made
perfect in weakness. II Cor. 12:9

Unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of
Christ. Eph. 4:7

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to
another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. I Pet. 4:10 *

whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Heb. 12:7, 8

The LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God

ashamed to be called their God; for he hath prepared for them a city. Heb.
11:16

An inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away,
reserved in heaven for you. I Pet. 1:4

All things are yours; ... the world, or life, or death, or things present,
or things to come; all are yours. I Cor. 3:21, 22

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of
man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath
revealed them unto us by his Spirit. I Cor. 2:9, 10

Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but
that we receive a full reward. II John 8

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this
hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. John 12:27

I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that

obedience by the things which he suffered. Heb. 5:7, 8

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently

*MORNING*

*Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.* Lam. 3:41

Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high, who humbleth
himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth! Psa.

Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. Psa. 25:1

I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a
thirsty land. Hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go
down into the pit. Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for
in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I
lift up my soul unto thee. Psa. 143:6-8

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

~~~
*EVENING*
Watchman, what of the night? Isa. 21:11
It is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than
when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us
therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of
light. Rom. 13:11, 12
Learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth
forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: so likewise ye, when ye shall see
all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Heaven and earth
shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matt. 24:32, 33, 35
bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. Heb. 12:15
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. Psa. 66:18
Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out
therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened.
For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the
feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness
but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. I Cor. 5:6-8
Let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of
that cup I Cor. 11:28
*EVENING*
The serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: ... your eyes
shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Gen. 3:4, 5
I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty,
so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. II
Cor. 11:3
My brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on
the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of
the devil. Take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore,
having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of
righteousness and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of
peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph. 6:10, 11, 13, 17
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his
devices. II Cor. 2:11 ***
The meek ... shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men
shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. Isa. 29:19
Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter
into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this
The ornament of a meek and quiet spirit.... is in the sight of God of great
price. I Pet. 3:4
Follow after meekness. I Tim. 6:11
Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart.
Matt. 11:29
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is
brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is
dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. Isa. 53:7
Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow
his steps: who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: who, when
he was reviled, reviled not again.... but committed himself to him that
judgeth righteously. I Pet. 2:21-23
If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. Gal. 1:10
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye: but let none of
*August 18*
MORNING What God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to
thy works, and according to thy might? Deut. 3:24 Who in the heaven can be
compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto
the LORD? O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to
thy faithfulness round about thee? Psa. 89:6, 8 Among the gods there is none
like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.
Psa. 86:8 For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou
done all these great things, to make thy servant know them. Wherefore thou
art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God
beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. II Sam.
7:21, 22 Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the
heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But
God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit. I Cor. 2:9, 10 The secret
things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed
belong unto us and to our children. Deut. 29:29 *****
EVENING He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. I Cor. 1:31 Let not the
wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might,
let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in
this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD. Jer. 9:23,
24 I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ
Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count
them but dung, that I may win Christ. Phil. 3:8 I am not ashamed of the
gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one
that believeth. Rom. 1:16 I have ... whereof I may glory through Jesus
Christ in those things which pertain to God. Rom. 15:17 Whom have I in
heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
Psa. 73:25 My heart rejoiceth in the LORD. I rejoice in thy salvation. I
Sam. 2:1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for
thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. Psa. 115:1
August 17 *MORNING*
Pray one for another, that ye may be healed. James 5:16
Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto
the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: peradventure there shall lack five of
the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he
said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. Gen. 18:27, 28
Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Luke 23:24
Pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. Matt. 5:44
I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast
given me; for they are thine. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them
also which shall believe on me through their word. John 17:9, 20
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Gal. 6:2
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a
man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it
might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years
and six months. James. 5:16, 17
*****
*EVENING*
As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he
flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place
thereof shall know it no more. Psa. 103:15, 16
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Psa. 90:12
What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his
own soul? Mark 8:36
Surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the
word of our God shall stand for ever. Isa. 40:7, 8
The world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of
God abideth for ever. I John 2:17
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. II
Cor. 6:2
Use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth
away. I Cor. 7:31
Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day
approaching. Heb. 10:24, 25
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O
mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon
helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise
him. Psa. 28:7
My soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments
of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a
bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself
sure. II Sam. 23:5
I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that
which I have committed unto him against that day. II Tim. 1:12
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us
with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he
hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be
holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the
adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good
pleasure of his will. Eph. 1:3-5
We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to
them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow,
he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son. Moreover
also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Rom. 8:28-30
MORNING
The Lord will not cast off for ever: but though he cause griefs yet will he
have compassion. Lam. 3:31, 32
Fear thou not.... saith the LORD: for I am with thee; ... I will not make a
full end of thee, but correct thee in measure. Jer. 46:28
For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I
gather thee. In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but
with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy
Redeemer. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my
kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace
be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee. O thou afflicted, tossed
with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair
colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires. Isa. 54:7, 8, 10, 11
I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him,
until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth
to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness. Micah 7:9
*****
EVENING
God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which
are mighty. I Cor. 1:27
When the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a
deliverer, Ehud.... a man lefthanded. After him was Shamgar... which slew of
the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered
Israel. Judg. 3:15, 31
The LORD looked upon [Gideon], and said, Go in this thy might: ... have not
I sent thee? And he said unto him, O my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel?
behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's
house. Judg. 6:14, 15
The LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for
me.... lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath
saved me. Judg. 7:2
Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Zech.
4:6
My brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Eph. 6:10
MORNING
Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee. Song 4:7
The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot
even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and
putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither
mollified with ointment. Isa. 1:5, 6
We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy
rags. Isa. 64:6
I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing. Rom. 7:18
Ye are washed.... ye are sanctified.. .. ye are justified in the name of the
Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. I Cor. 6:11
The King's daughter is all glorious within. Psa. 45:13
Perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord
GOD. Ezek. 16:14
Let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us. Psa. 90:17
These are they which ... have washed their robes, and made them white in the
blood of the Lamb. Rev. 7:14
A glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but ...
holy and without blemish. Eph. 5:27
Ye are complete in him. Col. 2:10
*****
EVENING
Broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Jer. 2:13
Eve ... bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. Gen. 4:1
Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven.
The LORD scattered them. Gen. 11:4, 8
Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; it was well watered every where, even
as the garden of the LORD. But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners
before the LORD exceedingly. Gen. 13:11, 10, 13
I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived
that this also is vexation of spirit. For in much wisdom is much grief: and
he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow. Ecc. 1:17, 18
I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards: I
gathered me also silver and gold. Then I looked on all, and, behold, all was
vanity and vexation of spirit. Ecc. 2:4, 8, 11
If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. John 7:37
He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
Psa. 107:9
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Col. 3:2
MORNING
The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my
name. John 14:26
If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me
to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee
living water. John 4:10
If ye ... being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how
much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask
him? Luke 11:13
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my
name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask,
and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:23, 24
Ye have not, because ye ask not. James 4:2
When ... the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth: for
he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he
speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he
shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. John 16:13, 14
EVENING
What think ye of Christ? Matt. 22:42
hosts, he is the King of glory. Psa. 24:9, 10
He hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND
disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the
head of the corner. I Pet. 2:7
Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks
foolishness; but unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ
the power of God, and the wisdom of God. I Cor. 1:23, 24
I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ
Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count
them but dung, that I may win Christ. Phil. 3:8
Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I love thee. John 21:17
August 5
~~~~~~

MORNING

Walk in newness of life. Rom. 6:4

As ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto
iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto
holiness. Rom. 6:19

I beseech you.... brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your
reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind. Rom. 12:1, 2

If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new. II Cor. 5:17

In Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision,
but a new creature. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on
them, and mercy. Gal. 6:15, 16

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not
as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind. Eph. 4:17

Ye have not so learned Christ; if so be that ye have heard him, and have
been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus. Put on the new man, which
after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Eph. 4:20, 21, 24

~~~~~~
EVENING
Thy will be done. Matt. 26:42
O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself. it is not in man that
walketh to direct his steps. Jer. 10:23
Not as I will, but as thou wilt. Matt. 26:39
Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his
mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. Psa. 131:2
We know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself
maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he
that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he
maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Rom. 8:26,
27
Ye know not what ye ask. Matt. 20:22
He gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul. Psa. 106:15
These things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil
things, as they also lusted. I Cor. 10:6
I would have you without carefulness. I Cor. 7:32
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because
he trusteth in thee. Isa. 26:3
August 4
~~~~~~

MORNING

It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. John 19:30

Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Heb. 12:2

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou
gavest me to do. John 17:4

We are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for
all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the
same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: but this man, after he had
offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one
offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Heb. 10:10-14

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was
contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. Col.
2:14

I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me,
but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power
to take it again. John 10:17, 18

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends. John 15:13

~~~~~~
EVENING
He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. Psa. 18:16
He brought me up ... out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set
my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. Psa. 40:2
You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time
past ye walked according to the course of this world. We all had our
conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh. Eph. 2:1-3
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I
cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed. Psa. 61:1, 2
Out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. For thou hadst
cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me
about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. Jonah 2:2, 3
We went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a
wealthy place. Psa. 66:12
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the
rivers, they shall not overflow thee. Isa. 43:2
before the world began. II Tim. 1:9
We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins. Eph. 1:7
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves
likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath
ceased from sin; that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the
flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. I Pet. 4:1, 2
iniquities. Isa. 53:11
